So, I’ve been thinking of making a simblr and trying my hand at the legacy stuff for about a year now. However, there seems to just be like....a ton of hate and stuff in the community. Is it even worth making a simblr...? So many people just seem to disappear because of all of the negativity.

hi bby!! i’m gonna be honest–yeah, there’s some hate and negativity in this community. there are some assholes who wallow in their own misery and are just looking for literally any excuse to bring others down with them. and tbh i’d say it’s about 95% petty ass jealousy. and while it does cause some people to disappear, most tend to just block them and move on, or step away from the community for a breather.

however, while this community is plagued with rancid shitty assholes, it’s also filled with really amazing, supportive, beautiful people who will go out of their way to help u and make sure u know just how loved u are. i’ve had my simblr for over a year, and while i’ve been on the receiving end of some nasty hate here and there, i’m fortunate enough to have amazing mutuals + followers who love and support the trash that is my blog, and knowing that is 100000x better than a hate message from a piece of shit coward who hides behind anonymity to try to bring me down.

so yeah, while the hate in this community is discouraging and sometimes downright frustrating, i don’t regret making a simblr at all, and i don’t think u will, either. and if u do decide to make a simblr, make sure u send me a message so i can follow u!! 💖

No this is someone who called someone else in the fandom fat and ugly months ago and calls people stupid for having different opinions (for example she said the people who thought T was collabing with Kesha are al stupid) I'm literally crying I try my hardest to be nice because I know that's what Taylor would want but now I just idk idk do you have any words of comfort and or Kermits

That’s really hard to hear and I’m sorry that you or anyone else had to put up with that. But I do want you to know that people who are miserable in life will try to bring others down. I’m not saying to sympathize with them and it’s so cliche to assume all bullies have other things going on in life but it’s usually true. And by no means does that make it okay that she said those things but that’s generally what it is. I am so so so sorry that there are people out there like that but I hope the person she insulted rises above that and realizes she’s better than someone else’s negative opinions. The most we can do for that person is hope that if there is something shitty going on in their life that it gets better and they get better as a person. Don’t dwell on their unhappiness. I know it must hurt to watch her meet Taylor after she said those things but walk away. Be the bigger person and hope she gets better. I lived with a miserable person for years and I finally threw my hands up and left. I hope they get better but I left. That goes for someone who you feel was mean and met Taylor and that goes for anyone in life okay? Know your worth but also know when to walk away and surround yourself with positive people okay?

and of course here is a kermit! He’s sending you love!

I was just reading your garrison au and just want to say I love it! You bring me so much shallura joy with your stuff! But I also have a question/ prompt. At the end you said that allura's one request was that shiro had to come back in one piece. Obviously this doesn't happen. So later in the au does allura find shiro again when he lands on earth? Does she help him escape? And most of all (for some angst) does he remember her? Or is it only bits and pieces that come back over time? thanks ❤️

AWW THANK YOU! It’s one of my favourite AUs no matter the little changes I make to it here and there, so I’m glad you enjoy it!!

I’m a big believer/headcanoner that some of Shiro’s memories of before his imprisonment got scrambled by Haggar’s experiments, too (hence why he didn’t recognize the resemblance between Pidge and Matt, and was surprised that Pidge was Captain Holt’s daughter), at least to a certain degree. So in this AU I would imagine that after Shiro doesn’t come back, Allura and Keith are both discovered to uncover the truth. After he’s expelled, Allura works hard to stay at the Garrison so that she can more easily find any funny business… which Keith really cannot do in the middle of the desert. So I think that they’d communicate through a radio system, and Lance would still be flirting with Allura so she might get pulled onto the rooftop with them, and then also know exactly what Keith is planning, too. Either way, she finds him and helps him escape.

As for your second question, Shiro remembers most things about her, their friendship, etc. However, since their only kiss happened right before he left, it’s up to you if you want him to remember that or not. And even if he did, both he and Allura would still be professional to a fault and be like “now’s not the right time for a relationship” even if they both really really want to be in one. Silly pining idiots.

What really sucks about the way Joss Whedon writes is that he sort of has this idea that if he writes about women being strong and confident, that is all it takes for women to appreciate his work. Like, even if the villain constantly belittles a woman for being a woman and people are constantly harassing her and sexualizing her, it’s okay because she’s strong and she can take it.

The biggest difference between Whedon’s version of Wonder Woman and Jenkins is that in Whedon’s version Wonder Woman is A Woman. She (and the audience) must be constantly aware that she is a Woman, that she is Sexy, that she is overcoming incredible odds because she has the terrible disadvantage of Being Born A Woman.

Whereas in Jenkins’ film Diana simply exists. There are some points made by other characters about her being a woman, like when Steve won’t sleep with her because he feels it’s improper, or when his secretary says, “Oh yes, put specs on her, like after that she won’t be the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen”, but Diana is almost completely unaware of her status as a Dreaded Woman. Her excitement over a baby? She’s literally never seen one before. Her little makeover seen? Spends the whole thing looking for something comfortable she can fight in. She basically never mentions the difference between men and women, never even says that women are better or whatever because she was raised by them.

Joss Whedon would have never let Wonder Woman forget she was a Woman. She would have constantly been making comments about it, wether positive or negative, as would everyone around her. In Whedon’s heyday that might have flown a lot better, but now women seem to be a little sick of grrrrl power. They just want power. They just want to exist, both on screen and in life, without constant reminders that they are Women and that they must pay for that at every turn.

facebook and reposting

I know nobody’s here for long spiels, but this might be a bit lengthy… I’d much rather fill my dash with replies to you guys about stuff that has actual substance, or just post art in general, but this needs to be said.

Please don’t message me to ask if you can re-post/re-upload/re-distribute my work. I have an instagram, twitter AND tumblr where I distribute my work. That’s where I’d like to keep it.

I appreciate the respect you’re giving by asking, but it gets exhausting to keep saying ‘thank you, BUT’…it says clearly on my description page to Not Repost Anywhere. It does not say ‘Please only repost with permission’ it just says Don’t Do It. If you send me IM’s about re-uploading my work on instagram/FB/twitter/wattpad etc, I will ignore it. My silence isn’t an unspoken ‘do whatever you want’, it is a blatant ‘no’. OTL

In terms of Facebook - I respect and admire the effort put in by those who run translation fanpages - but I will also have to automatically decline all of your requests. Not because I don’t want my work to be accessible to those who don’t speak English, but because I’ve had multiple facebook accounts re-upload my work without my consent and with barely any credit/proper captioning of the work. And whenever I’ve tried to fix the issue, I’ve either been blocked, or had the re-posters try and lecture me about how I’m asking for the impossible.

Artists don’t ask for much. We do this for free and because we enjoy sharing our love for a series with the world in the best way we know how - by drawing out our feelings and ideas. It’s honestly a bonus and privilege to be able to earn money from my fanwork/fanmerch, and I greatly appreciate every gesture of patronage.

Artists shouldn’t have to ‘suck it up’ or be ‘aware that this comes with the territory’. Some artists, especially those who share work on Pixiv, face very real VERY serious legal repercussions if their fanwork is tracked back to them from sites that they did not consent to it being uploaded to. It doesn’t take much to paste a Pixiv artists description into google translate to see if they have said ‘Do Not Repost’ in their native tongue.

Please respect artists. Please look at our descriptions, read our FAQs and consider ‘why am I re-posting in the first place? Do I have explicit permission? Did I check if they allow this? why not just support and spread my appreciation for their work by reblogging their art post, or telling friends about their blog/twitter/pixiv?’

Artists are not machines made of endless amounts of money, time, or energy. We’re human beings that thrive on feedback, communication, and mutual respect. I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am now if not for the wonderful, kind people who supported and encouraged me on my art accounts. To those who support artists by re-blogging our work and/or keyboard smash their thoughts at us, I love you dearly. To those who support artists by purchasing our prints/keychains/charms/standees/zines? You guys are phenomenal, we couldn’t do half of what we do without you.

To the re-posters however? And to those who try to lecture artists about the Ways Of the Internet and how Reposting is Inevitable? The solution starts with YOU, not us. Mutual respect and honest communication, please utilise it.

there comes a time in every fan’s life where you just decide “fuck it, I’m not going to pretend to defend why I’m allowed to like A Thing even though everyone thinks it is Bad Art. I’m just going to like it and anyone who wants to judge me for liking A Thing without a detailed mea culpa Explanation should try this instead: I like A Thing because it makes me happy or brings me silly joy and that is all the Explanation I care to give. liking A Thing does not have to equal an endorsement of A Thing as Good Art or Model Writing. maybe it’s even garbage, but it’s My Happy Garbage, so peace out sailor.”
