i refuse to tag all of the trolls that is just too much

Wolf on a Leash

Hey all! This is the first little fic I’m writing in the GoT fandom and I’m super excited. Lemme know what you think pretty please? xxx

Pairing: Robb Stark x reader

Summary: Robb mistakes the feeling he has for you as loathing. You mistake the returning feeling you have for Robb as disgust. After 16 some odd years of having to deal with the feuding that’s been going on between his eldest and you, Ned finally takes jurassic measures to put an end to it.

Tags: AU where Jon Arryn doesn’t die and all of the Starks stay in Winterfell, Ned is a class A troll, Ayra’s a little shit, Stark family feels, fluff, humor, s l o w b u r n, angst at some point probably

Prologue

Ned Stark is universally known for his wisdom and fair mind, his gentle but blunt ruling hand, his honorable intentions, his kind smile and sympathetic heart. But never in your entire time living with the Starks have you witnessed this level of fuckery.

  • You getting recognized by a few hardcore monbebes, but fear not, they’re always friendly and never malicious.
  • If they’re a big enough fan to find out your identity, but never expose it, then rest assured they’re sweethearts, and they actually care about monsta x
  • HOWEVER, there are a few saesangs who want to see you burn in flames, but ha, that won’t happen…you’re too smart for them.
  • Has their management to back you up anyway, like bless them. even though they’re so strict on you that you think they hate you, that is until they turn around and treat you like a precious queen
  • Sympathizing with other non-celebrities who have celebrity buddies, like wow, the STResS and pressure can have you growing gray hairs

anonymous asked:

To your last post: Sometimes I feel like the younger generation wants fandom and fan culture to be back in the closet, back to something that isn't talked about IRL. Not even on purpose or anything like that, but it sure feels like that'll happen with all their calls of "don't ship/write/draw that icky thing where I can see, it's PROBLEMATIC". They make fandom unsafe for everyone. The fandom I'm in is so toxic there is constantly people lashing out against what I ship and create and I'm tired.

I really get that. I often wish we had a fan-owned social media platform that could combine the advantages of livejournal (flocking your journal, long, cohesive comment threads) with those of tumblr (shared tags, open spaces, easier ways to connect and share content). But for now, fandom’s platform is tumblr, so we have to make do.

I think it’s important not to be intimidated. Protect yourself by all available means - blocking, unfollowing, blacklisting - clean your dashboard, follow like-minded people, even if they are from different fandoms - but you’ll see that they have to deal with similar problems. It comes with the benefit that when you see something hurtful on your dash, chances are good that someone else has already written a well-worded reply, which you can then back up with a variety of “This!” if you feel like it.

Keep on doing what you love and don’t get too defensive. Keep in mind, you don’t have to justify yourself for the things you like - ships, kinks, tropes, whatever, it’s fine. I know it’s easy to doubt yourself when people attack you so viciously, but really, they are the ones deciding to harass you when they could just as easily leave you be, which tells you something about their real motives.

Actually, refusing to get defensive and apologetic over your ships is a surefire way to make concern trolls and would-be sjws froth at the mouth. How dare you unrepentantly ship That Thing™! How dare you not even try to explain yourself by telling them all about your personal life and your reasons for liking That Thing™ (so that they can in turn tell you that it’s not an excuse, and call you names)! No, really, don’t explain yourself. Blatantly refuse to be intimidated. They hate confidence more than anything because they only gain theirs by dogpiling on others.

Oh, and they hate getting laughed at. So laugh at them. Find an angle to see something humorous in their comments. Roll your eyes at their catchphrases. Award them bonus points, depending on how many they use. “Perpetuating harmful stereotypes”. Check. “Hurting survivors”. Check. “Romanticizing abuse”. Check. “Horrible human being.” Check. “ —> “Congratulations! The SJ-o-meter ranked your post at 15 brp (bullshit rhetoric points).” They’ll get mad at you like you wouldn’t believe. Then, when you’ve driven them into a frenzy, block them. Block anyone else on their side of the trenches, don’t read their follow-up posts, just ignore them. Once you’ve understood the way these people argue, it’s ridiculously easy to predict what their next reply will be. Oh, and ask them questions like these:

“Do you also go to mainstream porn sites and shame the dudes watching gangbang clips? I mean, surely that’s a much more problematic thing than a couple of fans drawing rather exotic kinds of fanart.”

“Do you think we should ban the bible as well? After all, it’s fiction full of genocide, slavery, incest, and rape. And you have to admit, there are far more people reading the bible than fanfiction.”

“I see you posted about that episode of that series last week, where character A did this Illegal Thing™. Are you not afraid that people could see this episode and think it’s okay to do this Illegal Thing™?”

If they refuse to answer those questions - as they likely will, because the honest answer would be a no - ask them what their real motives are when they criticize other fans.

Also fallacies. It really helps to be able to tell when your opponent’s “argument” is just a red herring, or an ad hominem attack, or an appeal to authority. The famous “I am a survivor, so it’s my right to tell you what is or isn’t harmful” is just bullshit. Don’t even bother refuting these kinds of statement, it’s a waste of time; they’re easier fended off by pointing out their fallacious nature.

Last but not least, if you get anon hate, but don’t want to turn off anon asks altogether, publish them with random facts about the life of the Australian sea turtle. Or just delete them. They’ll keep watching your blog, silently fuming as you ignore them.

And remember, you are not alone. Fandom is full of great people, it just takes some effort to weed out the haters, and find a way not to let them ruin your day.

Ah, okay, how about something I alluded to ages ago.

Once upon a time, Rhys almost worked for another company. It was years ago now, but when he’d just gotten out of school with his degree, he was a pretty impressive prospective employee for Hyperion or Atlas. Both of them were big names in the game, and Rhys was courted for both. Having a thesis project on programming hueristic artificial intelligences was a boon for him.

Hyperion had two things going for them: one, that Vaughn had picked Hyperion for his career path, and two, they were willing to give him an arm.

At the time, Rhys had a… decent hybrid arm. It worked, it was fine and got the job done. Having his custom keyboard that let him type one handed was always the faster option, though.

When Rhys told the headhunter that he was torn between Hyperion and another company, the woman had looked him in the eye and said, “We can give you something Atlas can’t. Our new line of myoelectric arms will enter beta testing in two months. Come to Hyperion, and I’ll put you at the top of the waiting list.”

There are such things as offers you cannot refuse. Even if the Hyperion arm was a little gaudy and yellow, it was an arm with enough articulation to type and write and–

Rhys learned his loyalty could be bought early, and felt zero guilt about it.

it is time....... to be a HUGE TROLL

(okay? okay.)

A WIZARD OF EARTHSEA IS WAY BETTER THAN EITHER THE DISPOSSESSED OR THE LEFT HAND OF DARKNESS

LEGUIN’S SHORT FICTION IS BETTER THAN HER NOVELS BECAUSE NOVELS ALLOW HER TO SPEND TOO MUCH TIME ON CHARACTERIZATION, WHICH IS MOSTLY JUST “SYMPTOMS OF DEPRESSION,” AND THAT’S RARELY NARRATIVELY COMPELLING, OKAY

ANNNNNND HER NON-SFF SHORT FICTION IS HONESTLY ON AVERAGE BETTER THAN THE SFF STUFF, THOUGH HER LIKE, TOP FIVE, THOSE ARE PROBABLY SFF

(ASIDE FROM OMELAS (YOU CAN’T WALK AWAY FROM THE ONES WHO WALK AWAY FROM OMELAS, INCOMPREHENSIBLE THEMATIC SEA KNOWN AS THE “SFF GENRE,” IT’S INESCAPABLE AND IT HATES YOU AND IT’S GONNA OUTLAST YOU) THREE OR FOUR OF THE TOP FIVE ARE PROBABLY IN A FISHERMAN OF THE INLAND SEA, BUT I’M UNCOMFORTABLE CHOOSING)

(okay that’s it for leguin, and, uh)

THE GOBLIN EMPEROR WASN’T VERY GOOD, LIKE, EVEN IF YOU LIKE THAT KIND OF H/C IDFIC STUFF THERE’S MORE-EMOTIONALLY-AFFECTING EXAMPLES OF IT IN LIKE THE FIRST COUPLE PAGES OF THE AO3’S HOMESTUCK TAG WHEN YOU SORT IT BY EITHER KUDOS OR BOOKMARKS

AND STEVEN UNIVERSE IS ALL-AROUND BETTER THAN THE ANCILLARY NOUN BOOKS AT >60% OF THE THINGS WHICH THE ANCILLARY NOUN BOOKS ARE TRYING TO ACHIEVE

THESE BOOKS ARE NOT GOOD AT DIALOG, AND ONLY INTERMITTENTLY GOOD AT CHARACTERIZATION, WHICH RENDERS THEIR PRETTY-COMPELLING AND -BELIEVABLE WORLDBUILDING CLINICAL AND PREACHY, AND ROBS THEIR POTENTIALLY-EXTREMELY-COMPELLING INDIVIDUAL EMOTIONAL ARCS OF ALL THE ACTUAL EMOTION

BREQ’S A SHITTY CHOICE FOR SOLE POV CHARACTER, SERIOUSLY, SHE SHOULD BE A FIGURE MOSTLY VIEWED AT A LUSTFUL/SEETHING/OVERAWED DISTANCE BY OTHER PEOPLE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT HER DEAL IS LIKE SHE’S SOME KIND OF A FRANCIS LYMOND, HOW WAS THIS NOT OBVIOUS

THE FACT THAT ANCILLARY SWORD DIDN’T AT LEAST SWITCH OVER TO TISARWAT’S POV WHILE BREQ WAS OFF AT SUMMER CAMP IS A TOTAL WASTE OF A GOOD TISARWAT, I MEAN COME ON

(homestuck)

MOOMINVALLEY IN NOVEMBER IS ABOUT TWO HUNDRED PAGES LONG AND EASILY ACHIEVES 95% OF ANDREW HUSSIE’S APPARENT GOALS FOR ACT 6 OF HOMESTUCK, WHICH IS GONNA BE LONGER THAN PI BEFORE IT’S FUCKING OVER, WE WILL NEVER ESCAPE THIS INCREASINGLY-SELF-LOATHING RECURSIVE HELL-NARRATIVE

YET HOMESTUCK STILL DESERVES THE HUGO AND NEBULA AWARDS MORE THAN PROBABLY ANYTHING THAT’S WON EITHER SINCE 4/13/2009, BUT THE PEOPLE WHO VOTE IN THOSE AWARDS ARE JUST AS SMUGLY INSULAR ABOUT WHAT COUNTS AS “GOOD SFF” AS THE “LITERARY FICTION” PEOPLE WHOM THEY SO BITTERLY RESENT

SO THEY REFUSE TO READ IT BECAUSE IT’S GOT DICK JOKES AND EMBEDDED FLASH GAMES AND AN ENTHUSIASTIC FOLLOWING AMONG PRECISELY THE PEOPLE WHOM “SERIOUS SFF FANS” OF EVERY MAJOR POLITICAL STRIPE LEAST RESPECTS

FUCK US

I REGRET US

(AND HUSSIE’S JUST GOING TO KEEP POSTING OPAQUE HORSE JOKES ON TWITTER AND HATING THE WORLD FOREVER, WHICH IS NOT AN UNREASONABLE REACTION!, BUT IT’S GENERALLY DESTRUCTIVE AND SELF-DESTRUCTIVE AND Y'KNOW, UNGRACEFUL. AND I WOULD LIKE TO OFFER HIM SOME OF THE DRUGS I’M A LITTLE HIGH ON RIGHT NOW, I GUESS?

JUST, LIKE, TAKE A BREAK AND MAYBE WRITE LITERAL GODDAMN CON AIR FANFIC UNDER A PSEUDONYM OR SOME SHIT UNTIL YOUR HEAD’S IN A BETTER PLACE? TAKE SOME BRAIN-LASIX AND FLUSH THE RESULTING FLUIDS DOWN A SEPARATE NARRATIVE. THEN MAYBE SEGUE THAT ONE BACK INTO HOMESTUCK IF YOU WANT. BLOW SOME GODDAMN MINDS.)

(/homestuck)

THE HUGO AND NEBULA AWARDS ARE PRESENTLY WALLOWING IN A STATE OF SUCH DEEP INANITY AS TO BE USEFUL ONLY FOR MAKING PRIOR WINNERS FEEL BAD ABOUT THEMSELVES - WHICH OF COURSE IS THE WAY OF MOST ARTISTIC AWARDS MOST OF THE TIME! - BUT JESUS PEOPLE WE HAVE THE FUCKING INTERNET NOW, AND YOU’RE ALL NERDS WHO ARE ON THE INTERNET ALL THE TIME, IT SHOULD BE OBVIOUS TO YOU THAT YOU’RE NOT VOTING FOR “THE BEST SFF BOOKS” YOU’RE VOTING FOR “THE BOOKS MOST APPEALING TO READERS OF A COUPLE OF OVERCOOKED AND SOON-TO-BE-RIGHTFULLY-ABANDONED SUBGENRES OF SFF”

SO THE PUPPIES THING IS NOT AT ALL SURPRISING, IT’S BARELY EVEN A THING

THIS “COMMUNITY” IS SO INSULAR AND LAZY THAT MEDIOCRE TROLLS LIKE VOX DAY AND MEDIOCRE DICKHEADS LIKE AJA ROMANO ARE REGULARLY ABLE TO HOLD PEOPLE’S ATTENTION, WHILE THE MULTIDIMENSIONAL SHITARRAY THAT IS WINTERFOX WAS ABLE TO OPERATE COMFORTABLY FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME JUST BECAUSE EVERYTHING ELSE GOING ON IN HER GENERAL VICINITY WAS SO GODDAMN BORING

LIKE “LET’S ARGUE ABOUT WHETHER SLASH IS APPROPRIATIVE FOR THE THOUSANDTH FUCKING TIME, AND WHY THE GENRE’S FULL OF MONARCHIES EVEN IN SPACE, AND COMPLAIN ABOUT YA DYSTOPIAS AND ALSO DEFEND YA DYSTOPIAS, AND MOURN FOR OUR YOUTH FOR OUR SEPARATE INDIVIDUAL IDEOLOGICAL REASONS

BUT LET’S NOT READ ANYTHING BUT THESE FIVE OR SIX GODDAMN THINGS AND REMIXES OF AND REFLEXIVE REACTIONS TO THESE SPECIFIC THINGS”

LIKE YOU KNOW WHEN CERTAIN TEENAGE BOYS DON’T HAVE ANYTHING BETTER TO DO, AND THEY START DARING EACH OTHER TO PUNCH THEMSELVES IN THE FUCKING FACE, AND INEVITABLY SOMEONE’S GOT TO GO TO THE ACTUAL ER

FUCK US, YOU KNOW?

AND BUJOLD SUCKS NOW

attention leokumi fans:

I’m sure many of you have noticed the recent amount of hate and hate blogs popping up in the tags and search. We all wish it would go away, right? Unfortunately, there isn’t really a way to stop these blogs and people from showing up. Since leokumi is the biggest ship in Fates, hate is inevitable and not easy to shake off.

HOWEVER, there are several simple ways you can reduce the amount of hate you see! Even if we can’t necessarily stop the haters and trolls, you can still help prevent hate from spreading.

The easiest way to do this is to block whoever makes hateful posts. You can then browse tumblr without ever seeing their posts again. They aren’t worth it, so please block these users and carry on.

Next up is how to react to the hate. Generally speaking, haters/trolls make posts addressing how much they hate the ship because it will give them ATTENTION. They want to see the hordes of people who adore this ship squirm, complain, and get upset in general. They might even be proud that they dislike the ship and bask in pretentious glory because of how *different* they are.

Let me impart some old internet advice to you: do not feed the trolls. Please, don’t respond to hate in any fashion. And whatever you do, don’t SEND hate either. I get it; it can be frustrating to watch someone acting hateful and stop yourself from giving them a good lashing, but it only encourages people further.

And please keep in mind that someone saying they dislike a ship is not hate; just because someone doesn’t like the same ships as you doesn’t mean they are going to act hateful. We’ve all got our preferences; it’s when opposite preferences clash that stuff becomes a problem. Be a good sport and keep your negative opinions out of the tag, no matter what ship it is.

In that vein, here’s something else you can do. If someone is following you and politely asks you to tag leokumi, I would highly suggest doing so. Trust me, a little kindness goes a long way. If you can’t tag something, politely tell them why you can’t. Rudely refusing to do so has the potential to give non-shippers a poor opinion of the shippers (something a lot of yaoi shippers already get a ton of flak for), which is never a good thing. Most of you are pretty cool, so let’s try to keep a decent reputation, shall we?

Rinse and repeat each step if you ever see hate on your dash, too. If you hover your mouse over the user’s URL, you can block them without even having to leave your dash!

tl;dr Please ignore the ship haters. Block them and don’t respond to them in any way.

Seriously, people who hate the things you love and go out of their way to stir shit up without any valid argument aren’t worth your time.

Rest assured, this blog will always remain hate-free!

You’re already doing so well. Keep on shipping, friends.

The Ultimate Guide to Identifying "SJW" Troll Blogs Run by Anti-SJWs

A lot of people seem to have trouble telling troll blogs apart from real social justice bloggers. This creates confusion and unfairly biases people against sj bloggers. Before you reblog a post all like “lol look at what these wacky SJWs are doing now!!!” take a moment to consider if it’s all a really bad joke. Here’s a guide to the major warning signs that a blog is a fake.

(Note that some of these things aren’t always bad or indicative of trolling- plenty of real people use neopronouns, have self-diagnosed mental illnesses, and/or are otherkin, and that’s fine- but when coupled with other evidence, and taken to a ridiculous extreme, it becomes likely that you’re dealing with a troll.)

Blog Content

  • Their blog was created very recently- if you look in the archive of a troll blog, you’ll probably find that they have no posts older than a few weeks or months ago. This seems to be overlooked by a lot of people, but it’s an obvious clue, because how could anyone be immersed in social justice (or at least a twisted parody thereof) if they’re super new to tumblr?
  • Their blog has almost nothing on it but posts about “social justice,” and the person doesn’t seem to participate in any fandoms (except maybe one of them, which the anti-sj behind the blog selected for “credibility”) or reblog any text posts. The few posts that are reblogged are usually repetitive sparkly graphics that say “i love cisphobia” or something.
  • Their sidebar has a very long list of identity-related information in it. I find that most people’s sidebars list only their name, pronouns, and maybe gender, and other information is in their about. A troll blog, on the other hand, wants to make people mad as quickly as possible, so they put all their ridiculous bullshit in a visible place.
  • Their icon and layout are the default ones. This used to be more common, although now a lot of troll blogs seem to be using plausible redux-edit type layouts.

Posts

  • Oftentimes, they will tell ludicrous stories about things that supposedly happened in real life. Usually this is something like, “Today I went to the grocery store and there was this white cis man looking at me! I couldn’t believe he raped me like that, so I showed that fucker by punching me in the face! Down with teh patriarchy!!"
  • They also tend to complain a lot about their parents in an "edgy” way, calling them things like “white cis scum” and talking about how they came out to their parents and they “didn’t understand!!! fuck u mom!!!”
  • They unironically say things like “die cis scum,” “check your privilege,” “shitlord,” “womyn” etc.
  • They seem out of touch with how people talk on tumblr nowadays and say things like “FRIENDLY REMINDER THAT ______ (◕‿◕✿)” and “uwu.” They use a lot of emoticons, especially Japanese ones.
  • There will oftentimes be instances where the anti-sjw behind the blog slips up and gets something wrong. I mean, everything is wrong on a troll blog, pretty much, but this is things like equating genitals with gender, gendering strangers, or using ableist language. They may also contradict themselves a lot.
  • They tag all their posts with a bazillion things. Real social justice bloggers generally don’t try to get anti-sjws mad on purpose, but that’s a troll’s entire objective.
  • They make comparisons between modern “oppression” (usually against otherkin or something) and “rape,” “genocide,” or “slavery.”
  • They say that they want to exterminate, enslave, or do something else very extreme to their oppressors.

Asks

  • Troll blogs get a lot of asks due to their attention-grabbing.
  • It’s mostly random hate mail from outraged people who think the troll is for real. The troll’s responses are usually short and make no real attempt to reason with the sender- things like “Cry harder, cis scum :3” and “That’s just how it works, sweetie (:”.
  • Trolls also get a lot of messages from people “trolling back,” pretending to be another similarly ridiculous “SJW.” No matter how obvious they are about it, the troll will always play along with them.

Gender

  • Their gender is a new one like the ones found on mogai-archive- frequently more than one, whether because they are part one gender and part another, or because they are fluid between the genders.
  • They use nounself pronouns, accepting a huge number of these, but refuse to let anyone use something like “they/their.”
  • They say they don’t have dysphoria and possibly even claim they “like being a girl” or things like that.
  • They’re usually implied to be DFAB. (Isn’t that interesting…)
  • In addition to their gender, identifying as something like trans-fat, trans-autistic, or trans-ethnic is common.
  • For some reason, promoting the idea that animals can be trans or you shouldn’t gender animals is a thing. (This was first seen with fuckingsassysprinkles’ post on the topic and sadvaporwavebabe talked about it too.)

Sexuality

  • Tends to include the words “demi” and “pan.”
  • Is often something that excludes majority groups, like being attracted only to LGBTQ+ people or otherkin.

Otherkin

  • Troll blogs are almost always otherkin. Their kintypes are usually things other than animals, like plantkin, spacekin, or fictionkin (usually of some anime character), and they often have multiple kintypes.
  • They say that otherkin are oppressed and draw inappropriate parallels between being otherkin and being trans (like claiming to suffer from dysphoria due to being otherkin).
  • They say that certain things are “appropriating” their kintype, for example, watching anime is “appropriating animekin (unless you’re japanese)” or growing a garden is “appropriating plantkin!”
  • They claim to do things that are very irrational and/or harmful for humans due to their kintype (like being plantkin and eating bugs)

Self-Diagnosis

  • Trolls generally have a bunch of self-diagnosed illnesses.
  • They’ll be very upfront about the fact that they’re self-diagnosed, although most real people don’t talk about it. They may even specifically mention the sources for their information (Wikipedia, WebMD, Yahoo Answers, etc.)
  • These include very serious illnesses, like PTSD (which gets people mad very quickly) and cancer (which doesn’t even make sense to self-diagnose).

Triggers

  • They have a lot of triggers, including very trivial/nonsensical ones (“lawnmowers” or “obamacare”), often ones supposedly related to the fake SJW’s kintype (like an alleged plantkin being triggered by “people eating vegetables”).
  • Other triggers are often very vague and general, like “transphobia,” or “white cis men.”
  • Despite their “triggers,” they never actually tag any trigger warnings for other people.

HELL YEAH I DO THANKS FOR ASKING
Also if you want colors or full bodies or other characters just let me know cuz I just threw this together really quick and it’s lazy.

Okay kids first!
Heights: John > dirk > roxy > dave > jade > rose > jake > jane

All egbert/harley/Crocker/English kids have light brown skin with dark brown/black thick hair.

John: . Was really short and scrawny but hit his growth spurt on the ship and got very muscular because giant hammer. No butt. At all. (Occasionally the victim of my transtuck headcanons)

Jade: wears hair in layers. The longest layers tangle into dreads naturally. Super busty and she hates it because it messed up her aim for awhile

Rose: pear shape, carries all weight in her hips and legs. Light tan with platinum hair. Thick eyelashes and chubby hands.

Dave: lanky but lean muscles. Pale with light freckles. Burns like a baby and has sensitive skin. Platinum hair with an undercut.

Roxy: self dyed pink hair but she did a shitty job so most of it is blotchy platinum. Girl is alllll legs with boney hips and pointy boobs.

Jane: she’s round and cute but it’s not all chub that girl is solid muscle don’t fuck with my baby. Sometimes I give her darker brown skin with lighter brown hair.

Dirk: also burns like a baby. Hair is more blonde less white. He’s got lots of cute freckles but he forgets to eat and sleep because he works so much so he looks clamy and pale most of the time

Jake: poor kid is a late bloomer. Big ears. Big teeth. Tiny, awkward, scrawny, jungle child.

Troll heights: aradia &gt karkat &gt feferi &gt terezi &gt eridan &gt nepeta &gt vriska &gt equius &gt kanaya &gt tavros &gt sollux &gt gamzee

Aradia: rounded body with the thickest hair you can imagine. Heavy lidded eyes and long eyelashes.

Tavros: Bara as fuck. Skinny legs. Big nose. I like to put longhorn horns on him instead of bull horns. Closer to home.

Sollux: a scrawny angry malnourished nerd who hit puberty and shot up like a weed. All of his shirts are stretched out because he doesn’t like anyone seeing how skinney he is

Karkat: a wall of muscle but you wouldn’t know it under all those layers. Has a shit immune system and is cold all the time. Has the thickest hair and the strongest eyebrow game and the greatest need of an orthodontist

Nepeta: traditionally human sexy. Small perky boobs and a hip waist ratio to kill for. Lean muscle that you wouldnt believe. There isn’t an ounce of fat on the girl

Kanaya: that girl is all hips. She tried to hide it for a long time but rose helped her be more confident about it. Darker skin when grey and lots and lots of freckles. Thin eyebrows and judge mental eyes but she really does care.

Terezi: nonbinary. Refuses to wear bra but doesn’t need one really. Arm muscle and a smile that will scare the shit out of you.

Vriska: scrawny malnourished and hair that can not be salvaged because its so fricken tangled but only on one side.

Equius: short for his age/caste. Hasn’t grown into his muscle so he’s basically a big awkward puppy.

Gamzee: pot belly and a hunched back that would make any lusus but his cry.

Eridan: genderfluid/gender queer. Luscious lips and meticulously plucked eyebrows. Almond shaped eyes with sea dweller secondary eyelid (fef has it too). Lots of splotchy purple birthmarks which is why he covers his neck and arms. Really shitty eyesight. Can’t go in the ocean for very long because he’s more of a freshwater fish.

Feferi: pudge and curves but packin muscle underneath it. Her pudge is actually more like blubber because she’s such a deep sea seadweller.

So, a couple weeks ago (or at some point. time is an illusion) there was some discussion over on ipoiledi’s page about Steve and Bucky coming out the media and how they would do that, and what the reactions of the media, and the population at large, would be. So anyway, here’s a drabble that’s loosely related to that topic.

Ever since they broke the news to the world that James Buchanan Barnes was back from the dead, and better than ever in Bucky’s modest opinion, Bucky’s felt like he’s been under some sort of house arrest. Spacious house arrest, granted, being that he lives in Avengers Tower with Steve and the rest of the rag tag team Steve’s somehow wrangled together, but house arrest none the less.

It’s unintentional, a safety precaution more or less, because the paparazzi have been staking out the tower and every building within a few square blocks waiting for the chance to hurl questions at whichever superhero they happen to come across. And no one wants to see the inevitable blow up between an angry Bucky Barnes and an overzealous reporter.

Pepper, Maria Hill, and a grudging Natasha had all advised Bucky to stay as far away from any camera and/or reporter as possible. He hasn’t been briefed on the opinions he’s allowed to give or what issues he’s supposed to pretend he knows nothing about, they tell him. Better to keep out of the public eye, they assure him. It chafes.

But what really gets to Bucky, is the fact that he has to sneak around with Steve, similar to the way they had to back in 30’s. When he does get a day pass to leave his prison (“it’s not a prison, Buck! Stop making it sound like I’m your warden or something”), it’s always on the condition he dress incognito (“This isn’t a spy movie, Bucky. We just don’t want to be hounded by the press.”) and that he not draw attention to himself and Steve.

Bucky’s not ashamed to admit that in this new era where people can’t be arrested for loving someone of the same sex, he wants to take advantage of it and show Steve off a little. He’s sleeping with arguably the best looking guy on the planet, possibly the universe, and he has to keep it a secret. Can’t hold his best guy’s hand in public, has to listen to Steve dodge dating rumors during press conferences. It’s eating away at him.

Hey Momo! I've been following you for a while and I really really love all the stuff you post and your art is amazing and yeaaaah! I was wondering if you'd like to explain why you like Tavros so much? I binge-read homestuck so don't remember a lot of his scenes from the comic, and I'm sure I've missed out on a lot of points that make him an interesting character. If you don't feel like it, that's ok too! Just know that I love your blog and everything on it! Have a good day! :)

What a good question!!!!!! Also, thank you.

Okay, so, Tavros. I could tell pretty much within the first major chunks of act five that Tavros was going to be the one of the best characters in homestuck— not my favorite, perhaps, because I’m garbage that loves garbage, that’s been established, but quite easily the best one. I like him mostly because he’s so admirable and says so many poignant things that other characters with… slightly less insight can’t get around to saying. He’s there to make some very important arguments about self-worth, and I don’t think he’s done doing that, either. Here’s some of the bullet points on Tavros’ stunning resume for the title of “Better person than you.”

  • People say he’s an asshole, but what they really mean is that he actually has a pretty reasonable temperament, rather than being an unequivocally sweet pushover to everybody forever. How the disabled lowblood that has to put up with Vriska Serket is somehow the most well-adjusted child of this whole comedy troup is a mystery.
  • Actually, it’s not, because kids with more shit to put up with have to grow up fast. And in the “putting up with shit olympics” Tavros takes home the gold. He takes home every medal. He takes home medals from other competitions.
  • Did I mention disabled, abused lowblood on Alternia? Tavros’ personal distress comes almost entirely from the oppressive individuals of his society. And his insecurity is something that’s leant to him by that inhospitality; Tavros is actually a wonderful, nice kid secure in his interests with lots of friends and and an unrivaled moral compass, except for by Jade. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with him besides the terrible things that keep happening to compromise his self-worth.
  • Vriska trying to “improve” him is really Vriska’s insecurity about herself.
  • He loves animals and refuses to use his powers on them in subversive ways.
  • He has a grasp on the real value of experiences & a healthy relationship with success and competition.
  • He’s genuinely nice to his friends. The fact that is a notable point just goes to show who we’re dealing with in regards to the rest of the (troll) cast.
  • The fact that every single page of homestuck isn’t about him is a crime. The fact that most of his conversations are with people that degrade & discourage him is a crime. Just. It’s crime city here.

I think this is a pretty condensed moment of who he is, up there.

Me too, Tavros.

I also have this tag dedicated to him but if you go back far enough you’ll see shitty old art so don’t…. go far back enough…

Arrow 5x03 “A Matter of Trust” Review: It’s a Game of Chance

(A/N: This is going to be a short and sweet one this week. Sorry peeps. Or not sorry. But I’m battling some health problems at the moment and I’m going to do my best. I’m actually using the rare sick day I allow myself to write this. Please forgive any blatant errors or oversights. It’s not intentional to overlook something from the episode.)

This was a pretty good episode, with some strong character moments. This episode was really an extension of the theme of last week. Trust is going to be a big theme this year; it’s often a theme in Arrow seasons. But they are really hammering the message home this season because they are steaming rolling on this issue of fixing Oliver Queen. It’s time to make him a grown up, if you will.

Why? Because they need him to become a fully realized person—as Oliver Queen—so that he can fulfill his ascension into the Green Arrow. Not just as a vigilante, but a hero. It’s about making him better so that his legacy is one to be proud of. So that his legacy is more than just baby vigilantes. That Oliver has a legacy as much as Green Arrow (that’s where Felicity and their three babies come in).

There’s a reason that they had LL tell Oliver in 5x01 that she didn’t want to be the last canary. It was about her legacy (though technically it wasn’t hers to start with).

Oliver will not always be the Green Arrow. He needs to leave behind a team that honors what he believes in. That can do the things that he does. To do this he has to let people in. Of course there was Roy but we don’t get to keep Roy right now. Sadly. So we have to pretend we don’t have Roy out there and that these new recruits are the legacy he’ll leave behind. Because this shouldn’t—won’t—stop with them either. Artemis should be one in a line; Wild Dog too. I don’t honestly know what the protocol is for passing along mystical rags, but you get my point.

Oliver Queen

The theme of legacy is tied into Oliver’s realization that the buck stops with him. Forevermore what the vigilantes do in Star City will be tied to him because he started it. (We are ignoring the short-lived arc that Wild Cat—what is it with wild animal code names?—pre-dated The Hood). So if vigilantes start hurting the city like the Savior did in 1x18; that’s on him. Because he inspired people to go outside of the law. What Oliver has to do is set a code of morality that other vigilantes will follow. His memory needs to become something that people will want to honor and not tarnish.

So he has to start thinking about the long-term right now. It’s more complicated now than just crossing off names in a book.

I’d like to interject that I absolutely loved Oliver’s press conference scene. I like that he stood up for his team. A leader cannot only claim the good but the bad his team does. (Not to dismiss personal accountability, however.) No one is perfect, of course. But intentions should count for something. The hard part is finding someone with honorable intentions. Which brings me back to my point in last week’s review: Trust but verify. Trust is a line to be walked; on the one side there needs to be proof that trust is warranted. On the other side, trust is a leap of faith that the proof will come. Trust is a game of chance; you spin the wheel and sometimes you are lucky and sometimes you are not. Sometimes I think on this show there are too many leaps of faith. I’m a far more cautious person. It’s just in my nature. So I do understand Oliver’s reticence.

But I also understood Felicity’s point in their conversation too. Going out on a limb to see if Rene’s idea was viable wouldn’t have taken much effort. Because Oliver refused to take even a little chance on Rene it pushed Rene into acting on his own. Rene’s actions were reckless and proved disastrous but he was right about Sampson’s location. Rene refused to trust in Oliver’s vigilante training methods.

In many ways this villain of the week is an example of how we are our own worst enemies. Derek Sampson was created because Rene didn’t trust Oliver and vice versa. When we refuse to trust anyone, ever, we are only hurting ourselves. This stalemate between Rene and Oliver wasn’t going to get them anywhere. Someone had to be the one to bend and that person was Oliver.

Enter character growth.

some thoughts on not being the "target audience"

When I first enlisted in the Army, the going was rough, as one expects. The idea is to get the enlistee accustomed to functioning under the high levels of stress that may be encountered in combat. To my mind, there is nothing inherently strange or wrong about that.

People are saying ? Ichiruki was always Platonic . I believe kubo fucked us in the last arc to intentionally troll sj. Kubo literally massacred ichiruki........ If ichiruki was so Platonic why would kubo feel the need of massacring it

IHs are still being a mess, I see. Just try and ignore them. They’ve been using the same argument for years. Let them be delusional. I’ve literally made a post full of the many many IchiRuki quotes from Kubo/the characters, their only response was ‘but he said they were platonic!!!111!!’. If they really did respect his words that much, they’d also know that he said calling IR friends would be wrong. Kubo also said that Rukia was Ichigo’s ray of light. She’s the Queen and Ichigo is the King. This argument of ‘respect Kubos work plzz go away haterzzz’ is an invalid one. They’re the ones who have continuously disregarded Kubo’s own words/the whole manga. They try and delude themselves into thinking that only IR shippers are being ‘butthurt’, yet refuse to accept the fact that (outside of Reddit and manipulated YouTube comments) pretty much everyone agrees that this ending is shit. All the people who have actually read this manga (for the story, not just for their shit ship) and understood it, were confused as hell at this ending. And they have the right to be.

Also I think Kubo “massacred” Bleach in general. The ships are just the tip of the iceberg. However, IchiRuki hasn’t been doing bad these weeks. People continue to write fanfics, make edits, create fanart (Dance with SnowWhite is so amazing) more than ever, simply because there’s too much proof. We have 15 years of development, they can keep the 3 panels of bald Ichigo mentioning Or*hime by her first name, and him looking dead inside. And we’ll have the glory times of Bleach with the badass Ichigo that’s hot as hell and with the incredible humor/art/storyline that everyone loved.

hi there! i just stumbled onto your blog and i love all the meta! i am curious though, about why you think Regina won't get a happy ending? i know you said you are antiregina (ish) but i was just wondering if you would (or have) said specifically why you don't think she will have a happy ending (i personally would like to think that she could/can have one with robin) thanks so much for your time xx

SLOW-ISH, LONG-ISH ANSWER:

Ummm………

Well, okay… Let me think about this for a sec…

Okay, let me start off like this: the reason why I made my full disclosure (the reason for all those ish-es ), and the reason why I tag my posts with “Anti-Regina” and “Anti-Rumple” is because when I write these answers and theories and predictions, I try not to write them from the point-of-view of a viewer. When I write them, I try my best to write them from the perspective of a writer. So…whenever I talk about Rumple’s and Regina’s characters, I’m talking about their characters. You know what I mean? I’m constantly referencing back to their basic characterization within the show.

Like, for example, if I were to talk about these two characters’ main motivation (that quality of the character that really drives them to do what they do), I’d say Rumple’s is based on self-interest, and Regina’s is based on self-pity. That means to say that Rumple’s actions are always due to him being selfish, and Regina’s actions are always due to her feeling sorry for herself. These core traits of theirs are quite consistent with their original characters from the classic fairytales. Referencing the classical Grimm’s tales, the character of Rumplestiltskin constantly refused to help anyone until they were able to strike a deal with him, and he only accepted if he had more to gain in the end; while the character of the Evil Queen was constantly driven to try to kill Snow White out of an all-consuming envy for her beauty, and a desire to be the most beautiful in all the land. The Evil Queen wouldn’t settle for second place. As long as there was someone out there more beautiful than her, her envious heart and her obsessive nature knew no rest.

Now…these two observations that I just made aren’t subjective (from the point of view of viewers). They’re objective (from the point-of-view of the writers). If I were to make a subjective opinion regarding the both of them, I’d say they both annoyed me. Very much. But the fact of the matter is, talking and venting about how a certain character annoyed me serves absolutely no purpose in terms of understanding why a character is doing what they’re doing, and why the writers chose that particular course of action. When I write these answer and analyses and predictions, it’s because I’m using my objective observations and analyses of the characters and their actions to try to get into the writers’ minds. The writers’ plot is my prize. The characters and their actions are just my tools to get to it. So this is the reason for all of the “ish-es”.

The reason for all of the “anti-s” is because of certain “fans” of those characters. You know who I’m talking about—the ones who send personal insults as a means of “defending” their favorite character, the ones who prefer to harass rather than discuss, the ones who don’t know their favorite character, in other words, and prefer to project their personal head character onto the person on the screen whose face matches their own mind’s creation. I stick “anti” in front of my Rumple and Regina tags in order to avoid having to deal with those kinds of people.

So, in reality, I’m actually not Anti-Regina or Anti-Rumple. I just tag my posts as such to steer clear of unreasonable trolls. I actually love both those characters from a writers’ perspective. Rumple’s character is a little bit more intriguing than Regina’s, in my personal opinion. There’s a lot more avenues for a writer to go down when dealing with a character whose basic motivation is self-interest, more than there are avenues for a character whose basic motivation is self-pity. But that’s only a personal preference of an objective analysis (of Rumple and Regina’s core motivations).

Now, given all of that… I’ve never actually said (or at least, I don’t think I did) that Regina won’t get a happy ending. I’ve said that I’m not convinced she will, which… Well… I mean, I guess it’s the same. But the thing is it’s arguable. I’m not giving a hard “no” in terms of whether or not she will. I’m saying it’s open for discussion. There are several reasons why I’m not convinced yet, though.

When I make my predictions for a character, I take the writers’ general attitudes towards writing into account. In this case, Adam and Eddy’s general attitude towards writing a character is that “character trumps mythology” (a state of thinking they picked up from a mentor while writing for Lost). And what this can be translated into is “characterization is more important than redemption”, because when you concern yourself too much with your storyline and mythology and a phantom necessity to redeem every character, what happens is that that character that you created (their basic motivations and qualities and traits that you came up with) gets lost in the scramble to “redeem” them. Then all of a sudden you’re at the end of your story with a character that’s completely different from the one that you created at the beginning of it. So in your scramble to “redeem” your character, you ended up losing your character. It’s actually quite a good attitude to maintain while writing, in my opinion. It means your character maintains integrity throughout.

Thus, keeping the writers’ attitudes in mind, we then break down the Evil Queen character as laid out by the Brothers Grimm in their Snow White fairytale. This was the original Evil Queen character, and it was her characterization that Adam and Eddy based Regina on. Snow White is a quick read, and what we find is a character whose end goal is to be the most beautiful person in all the land. It wasn’t enough for her to be beautiful. She had to be the most beautiful person out of everyone. This is what drove her to attack Snow White, who held the “title” of most beautiful, repeatedly. And even after she thought she had succeeded, she still kept asking her magic mirror every day, “Who is the fairest of them all?” So here was a woman who constantly needed validation on top of ensuring that she already held the position she strove for. So already we have three traits that define the Evil Queen character: she’s envious, she’s obsessive, and she’s insecure.

Not surprisingly, these are the three traits that also define Regina. The envy and the insecurity sort of combine to form self-pity, which in turn drives the obsession.

(Sidebar #1: The fact that Regina is getting sneakier and sneakier with her schemes as the show progresses is also a quality that comes from the Evil Queen character from the Brothers Grimm. Every time after the first that the Evil Queen came to try to kill Snow White, she only got sneakier and sneakier with her tricks.)

So Adam and Eddy have remained quite consistent when it comes to Regina’s characterization over the years. They still remain consistent to this day. What you have to understand is that I’m not against Regina having a happy ending. But considering this character, with these base qualities (most especially her “envious heart”, which the Brothers Grimm took great care in emphasizing, because it drove her obsessive desire to have “it all”), it’s very difficult for me to see it.

The Evil Queen’s actions throughout Snow White were driven by her desire to have “most”. She wasn’t content with having “it”. She wasn’t content with having “more”. She needed to have “most”. This is what drove her obsession with killing Snow White—her envious heart. So even if the writers do give Regina a happy ending, her basic characterization says that she won’t be content with it. She’ll always be envying something else that someone else has, and that will drive her obsession to get her hands on that as well. This is exactly what we’re seeing on the show.

All throughout Season 2 and 3, all Regina wanted was Henry. She wanted him all to herself. Then she relented a tiny bit and settled for just being a part of his life at all. The 3A finale happened, and she lost him. But then in 3B, when Henry couldn’t remember her, she got Robin. Robin made her happy for a little bit, but then she saw Henry and remembered she wanted him too. Keep in mind that the Evil Queen’s basic characterization states that her “envious heart” knows no rest. So when she got Henry back at the end of 3B, but lost Robin to Marian’s return, her basic characterization, again, concludes that she would then obsesses over trying to reacquire Robin.

The Evil Queen is a woman who is insecure, and driven by her envious desire to have “it all”.

Do you know how many people in this world have “it all”?

None.

If the Evil Queen can never truly be happy without having “it all”, then she can never truly be happy.

It’s as simple as that.

The only person standing in the way of Regina and her happy ending… is Regina.

So that’s what I have on that end.

(Sidebar #2: There’s also an additional reason, from a structural perspective, as to why I’m not convinced Regina will get her happy ending, and it has to do with the fact that she and Emma are foils, and their conflict drives the plot of the show (half the time). For a more thorough explanation on that, see THIS post.)

Now with regards to Robin… Listen, I don’t want to be discouraging here. That’s the last thing I want to be. And I’m not Anti-OQ. I’m pretty neutral to them in general. I thought they were cute together in the short time that they were, but the relationship never really felt “earned” to me, so I never really got on board with it. And the thing is Robin Hood is actually my all-time favorite fairytale character. I’ve seen a great many incarnations of Robin Hood (modern, classical, straight, parody, television show, etc), and I love nearly all of them. I got into archery because of Robin Hood. But here’s the thing…

If the writers had planned an arc for Robin that spanned more than half a season, they would have made him a regular. That’s… just it. I mean, it could happen in the future, but that’s all I know right now. When Colin first came on the show, they immediately made him a regular as soon as they saw how 2.04-2.06 turned out. That means they had a major arc for him planned from the get-go. (Well, it’s a helluva lot more than a major arc now; he’s the leading man.) They didn’t make Michael Raymond James a regular until Season 3 (if I recall), which means that they didn’t have a major arc for him planned until that season, and when they did, they immediately cast him as a regular (to keep other studios from sweeping him up). That major arc spanned just a little over half a season. This year, they cast Michael Socha as a regular. That means they have a major arc planned for him that spans more than half a season (he’s in 4A, and he has a major storyline in 4B). So the fact that the writers didn’t make Sean a regular is kind of a red flag. It means that they’re not really concerned with other studios getting him under contract, which implies that the arc they have planned for him doesn’t span more than half a season. So…

That may not have been something that you wanted to hear, and I’m really sorry for that, but I’m just calling it like I see it. The situation may change in the future, but from what I’m looking at right now, this is how things are. Don’t let this get you down, though. There are plenty more elements to this show that are thoroughly enjoyable. Okay? I hope I answered your question (as discouraging as the response might have been). Let me know if there’s anything else I can answer.

Thanks so much for the ask! :-)

PS: Okay! So I got a CS vs RR question, one about prospective Davy Jones storylines, 4-5 quick ones, which will probably be the ones that I get to today, as well as some private messages, seeing as how it’s Sunday and most everyone will be obsessing over the new episode (most likely). Then there’s a really good one about some visuals inside the “Honeymoon” house that I totally missed the first time, but caught after that, and it is awesome, so I’ll be filling that one up with screencaps and gifs. And then there are quite a number of asks after that, so… if any of you asked me a question in the last couple of days, I really, REALLY appreciate your patience. :-)

For those who aren’t aware, in-her-blue-eyes has created antifeministcrowfeather, a blog where they make fun of social justice warriors and feminisim and other equality campaigns. People stopped paying attention to in-her-blue-eyes (that, or they pretty much blocked the entire tag or we’ve blocked them) so they created this blog to probably give themselves more attention since it’s been proven they’re nothing but an attention-seeker.

Their opinions are problematic and though we’ve tried explaining to them why (both calmly and aggressively) they refused to either shut up or change for the better. They made a half-assed, backhanded “apology” where they didn’t actually apologize for anything they did and at the end decided to insult everyone who dared tell them they were wrong. Their replies to posts are anywhere from passive-aggressive, outright disgustingly aggressive, or downright patronizing.

Avoid them, or join in on the fun of sending them the lyrics to your favorites songs!

But honestly just avoid and ignore everything they say in the tag because they’re really toxic and their posts are simply made to get a rise out of us (as stated on both their main and the anti-feminism blog).

Other people to avoid:

  • auroradash (posted  a rape fic to “troll those crazies in the tag”) They have a side blog but I don’t remember what it’s called but I’m pretty sure it’s a blog for trolling.
  • jayfeather420 also has some opinions that are triggering and does nothing to hide it.
  • virtualfang too.

I really don’t know anyone else who causes more trouble than these guys hell even lightflame doesn’t cause too much trouble anymore if at all so add to this if you want.

I just honestly find it hilarious that apparently we’re really “crazy” and “aggressive” and we “argue all the time” when in reality we only end up fighting when one of these assholes comes around and thinks it’s a good idea to post their shit opinions knowing we’ll get upset. Then they go and cry about it like they’re the victim when they’ve gone and triggered who-knows-how-many.

Seriously, fuck these guys.
