i really think this song is perfect for her

My grandmother got very very sick when I was making the record, which is what Supermarket Flowers is about if anyone’s heard that song. And my brother is a classical film composer, so he makes classical music. I make pop music. And we don’t really, like… he’s my brother, and I love him, but we don’t - I don’t understand classical music and he doesn’t really understand pop music. So we don’t have, like… When we meet up, we just talk about like Family Guy and Rick and Morty and stuff like that, and it’s not really, like that’s kind of it. But she said, she said, before she died she wanted to see her two – she’s only got two grandsons; it’s only me and my brother – she said before she died she wanted to see her two grandsons work together. And I said, ‘Well Matt, I’ve got–’ Matt’s my brother, and I said, 'Matt, I’ve got this song that I think an orchestra could be great.’ And he orchestrated a 60-piece orchestra for this song, Perfect, and we recorded a 60-piece orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. And managed to get it done before our grandmother passed away. And it was one of those moments where we sort of brought a laptop into the hospital room and played her it, and we were both kinda like, YEAH, we did it! It was just a really really special moment and to be able to have that now, being played on radio, and having the whole world hear something that me and my brother made, is like, is really cool. So I would like to sing this tonight. I would like to dedicate it to every single person in the crowd that has lost a loved one, has found a loved one, anyone that is in love, feels love, this is all for you.

Things from musicals that are so perfect they are borderline erotic

When Jonathan Groff first comes in in The Bitch of Living.
The third and fourth “burn"s in Burn and Phillipa Soo’s voice all the time. Shoutout to the final “mine” too; that’s gorgeous.
Pia Douwes’s voice, and how it is somehow simultaneously smooth and pure and beautifully rough.
The harmonies at the end of Make Up Your Mind/Catch Me I’m Falling.
The “or"s at the end of lines in Pretty Women.
“Would you think so badly of me” in Sonya and Natasha.
Rudolf’s "dann"s in Wenn Ich Dein Speigel Wär. And the "Nein! Ich möchte leben!” in Elisabeth, Mach Auf Mein Engel.
The dissidence of “trees” in Darkness and Trees.
How Phillipa Soo’s voice blends perfectly with the violins in Natasha Lost.
“I wish I could fly” from Superboy and the Invisible Girl.
That thing in The Bitch of Living when they are all jumping around chaotically and then suddenly are frozen singing “do they think we want this?” (Start at 2:40 for the full effect.)
That thing Karen David does in like every song in Galavant where her voice changes pitch slightly and damn.
The way “sadness” is sung in Don’t Do Sadness. Also the strings.
The piano in Hurricane.
The thing they do in Stop the World with the turntable and the chairs and everyone singing in a really lovely harmony with just the perfect amount of dissidence and sweet damn I love everything about it.
Absolutely everything about how Philippa Soo sings Times Are Hard for Dreamers. (Her voice is 15% of this list and that’s me holding back help it’s so beautiful.)
Both “nothing, it was nothing, I didn’t lead him on at all” and “back in the theatre full of light” in Natasha Lost.
Jenn Colella singing her phone call in 28 Hours/Wherever We Are.
Jenn Colella everywhere else let’s be real.
When Eva starts singing in High Flying Adored.
How syrupy and rich Jasmine Cephas Jones’ voice is in Say No to This.
That part of Seventeen when JD and Veronica are singing “seventeen” together and he’s singing higher than her. Also when Boote in Der Nacht and Wenn Ich Tanzen Will end the same way.
Everything about Gwyndolyn’s voice, especially when she’s singing her parts of A Happy Ending for Us.
The slight roughness in John Gallagher Jr.’s voice.
How drowsy and sexy Idina Menzel’s voice is in As Long As You’re Mine.
Also when she sings “it well may be” in For Good. (It’s nice for different reasons of course.)
Chris Jackson’s voice in One Last Time. And in every other song.

Reputation Theory by alltooalex

As November 10th is getting closer and more information is being shared each day about the songs on Reputation, I can’t stop thinking about the theory that the fifteen Taylor’s present at the end of the Look What You Made Me Do video are representations of the fifteen tracks on the album. Because of this, I have decided to compile all my own theories on Reputation into one big post to share with everyone here on Tumblr…

Track 1: The Birdcage Taylor / Ready For It
This Taylor is clad in orange and depicted inside a giant gold cage, referencing a prisoner. We already know that this track is ‘Ready For It’. The three lyrics of ‘me I was a robber first time that he saw me’, ‘but if I’m a thief then he can join the heist’, and ‘he can be my jailer, Burton to this Taylor’ all perfectly fit this image. This song is asking ‘are you ready for it?’ as in ‘are you ready for the intense media scrutiny that comes along with being in a relationship with me?’.

Track 2: Snake Taylor
Hiss hiss bitch, this Taylor has taken reclaiming her image to a whole new level by presenting herself as the queen of snakes. You think Taylor Swift is a snake? Watch Taylor Swift be the biggest snake you’ve ever seen! This look is pretty self-explanatory in my eyes. I think this will be the ultimate diss song to everyone who has ever wronged her. All the haters better watch their back, because we all know that all Taylor thinks about is karma.

Track 3: Shake It Off Taylor
This Taylor is the ballerina of the Shake It Off music video. Both the Shake It Off song and music video send the message that in spite of hate you should never stop being yourself. This Taylor says “yeah, you can’t possibly be that surprised all the time” recognising that Taylor is aware of the things people say about her, just like she was when she wrote Shake It Off. It’s hard to say what this track will be about because I think this album focuses on confronting hate rather than ignoring it, but it could be a song about Taylor being happy with her life right now. Shake It Off in its essence is about embracing life and enjoying yourself, and Taylor really has been glowing in the rare glimpses we’ve seen of her this era.

Track 4: Zombie Taylor
The Old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now… Why? Oh, cause she’s dead. I know this Taylor has a lot of links to the Kimye drama, but I think the most important part of Zombie Taylor is that she is the death of Out of the Woods Taylor. Out of the Woods Taylor represented a Taylor who had found herself outside of a relationship and was happy within her own right. I think the Kimye situation, as well as her breakup with Calvin and short-lived relationship with Tom, may have left Taylor feeling as if she had lost who she was. Similar to how she describes feeling All Too Well, I think this will be a song about finding herself again (or bringing herself back from the dead).

Track 5: Junior Jewels Taylor
This Taylor is a replica of Junior Jewels Taylor from her 2008 You Belong with Me video, except this shirt sports all the names of her current day friends! On Taylor’s past albums Track 5 has been the sad song™, however, I think Reputation might break this tradition and this will be a song about Taylor and her friends (think ‘22’ 2.0). Could the candids of Taylor’s upcoming music video (x), in which she is hanging out in London with some friends, be more evidence to support this?

Track 6: Dance Sequence Taylor / Look What You Made Me Do
This Taylor reflects the dark image she projected leading up to the announcement of Reputation. We already know that this track is ‘Look What You Made Me Do’. Through this track, Taylor is recognising the hate she received in 2016 and taking back her narrative through Reputation (‘maybe I got mine, but you’ll all get yours’). This song has loose ties to her Kimye fued, with this Taylor saying ‘what’s with that bitch?’ in reference to The Old Taylor and the lyric ‘I don’t like your titled stage’.

Track 7: Met Gala Taylor
This Taylor was super dramatic and over the top, gasping and holding a hand to her head. For some reason this Taylor gives me strong Wildest Dreams vibes, so I think this will be a love song about Joe. The fact that this Taylor was buried by Zombie Taylor could also hint at this being a love song, since the most popular criticism of Taylor in the past has been that she only writes songs about romance and relationships.

Track 8: 2009 VMAs Taylor
This Taylor is the iconic 2009 VMAs Taylor, referencing the night that started her eight-year long Kanye feud. Ironically, this Taylor says the quote that ended this same feud, ‘I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative’. I think this will be the Kanye song we all expect from Reputation, expect it will not be a repeat of Innocent because Taylor is not going to forgive and forget this time. Rumours out of the secret sessions say that there is a definite Kanye mention on Reputation – this is it.

Track 9: Receipts Taylor
This Taylor is full of sass and is ‘getting receipts, I’m gonna edit this later’. I think the most important part of this Taylor is the line ‘I’m gonna edit this later’. Leading up to her break, Taylor’s life was constantly documented, be it through paparazzi shots, excerpts from interviews, or even fan videos at her concerts. A lot of the things she did and often twisted into something they weren’t (such as Kim Kardashian editing her phone call with Kanye on snapchat, hence the ‘I’m gonna edit this later’). I think this will be a song about how Taylor is tired of being portrayed as something she is not.

Track 10: Fearless Taylor
This Taylor is a homage to the Fearless era, equip with her bedazzled guitar and all. I think this will be the sad song™ of Reputation. We have been told by those who attended the secret sessions that there is one track in particular that ‘made everyone sob’ (Fearless Taylor cries in the LWYMMD music video) and ‘has better lyrics than All Too Well’ (Taylor writes her best lyrics when it is just her and her guitar) – this is it. I also think this track could be about her breakup with Adam (Calvin), since that fits the sad song™ idea and Taylor wrote the country song Better Man about him (Fearless Taylor was country).

Track 11: We are Never Getting Back Together Red Tour Taylor
This Taylor is the only old Taylor from the Red era and she chose her We are Never Getting Back Together tour look for a reason. I think this will be a song about the moment she realised her and Adam are never ever getting back together, perhaps after he attacked her regarding ‘Nils Sjolberg’ on Twitter. This Taylor says ‘oh stop acting like you’re all nice, you are so fake’ in the LWYMMD video – could this be a hint that he portrayed the Nils Sjolberg incident as it was all her idea and she was to blame, when in fact that wasn’t the case?

Track 12: Reputation Taylor
I don’t give a damn about my reputation – or do I? This Taylor is the Reputation Taylor the mountain of old Taylor’s a striving to reach. This image demonstrates how she has worked so hard to be successful and build a career she is proud of, yet her achievements are constantly overshadowed by the negative image that is portrayed of her by the media. I have no doubt that the hate Taylor receives gets to her as she is only human, so I think this will be a song about what brought Taylor to write the Reputation album.

Track 13: Stream Co. Taylor
This Taylor references the drama that followed her after releasing the apple music letter and how everyone presented her as greedy despite the fact that she was just standing up for others. I don’t think this song will be about that, though. This Taylor is ‘blind for love’ so I think this will be a song about how Joe stole her heart / how they fell in love. I think Taylor would have been scared to fall in love after how her relationship with Tom was played out in the media, but her connection with Joe was strong enough to overcome that. There is a wedding ring open in this scene of the LWYMMD video, possibly hinting that Joe is the one for her? After all, this is track 13.

Track 14: Biker Taylor
This Taylor is one bad ass bitch. Not only is she dressed head to toe in leather and rhinestones, she literally lifts up two motorcycles with her bare hands. Along with this, biker Taylor is quoted as saying ‘there she goes, playing the victim, again’, recognising one of the biggest insult Taylor receives. Because of all of this, I think this will be a song about how strong Taylor is now and how she is anything but the victim.

Track 15: The Real Taylor
Finally, this Taylor is the real Taylor who cuts off the wings of her Reputation plane in order for it to stay grounded. I think this song will be the real heartbreaker of Reputation, and is quite possibly the song that made everyone cry from the secret sessions (if I am wrong about Track 10). I think this will be about how no matter what Taylor does and no matter how hard she tries, she will never be perfect. Similar to the idea of Clean, once she has this realisation she feels free and much happier. It is evident in this era more than ever that Taylor loves her fans and feels as if she can trust us. This is because not including her family and friends, we alone know who she really is.

One And Only

IMAGINE: Both Mary and John know that (Y/N) has Sherlock wrapped around her finger. Sherlock, being Sherlock refuses to believe this. Can one dance change his mind?

[gif is not mine. a bit fluffy and ooc of sherlock (sometimes).]

warnings: none

words: 1059

He stood there bashfully, no not bashful but just not wanting to interact with people. He was watching her, like what he did with others. He deduced her and found her fascinating, he usually wasn’t attracted to anyone, he was a lone wolf with the exception of his brother and John. Why was he suddenly feeling this way?

He saw her dance with her colleague, maybe? Or her friend? Either way he was jealous and he did not like feeling this way. Although lately he’s been feeling jealous if there was a guy anywhere near her, or who looked at her like a piece of meat. He felt possessive over her.

She was beautiful today, like any other day. She was wearing casual clothes, her hair up in a bun and a smile that graced her face. How did he get to meet her?

“Hello you.” She greeted him as she walked up to him. “What are you doing here all alone?” She gave him a hug which he hesitantly returned.

“Hello. You know me, this is a good place to observe.” He waved his hand around and gave her a small smile.

“Well, stop observing and dance with me. This is a club, you know? You dance, you socialise and you don’t deduce,” she laughed, not at him but with him. “So, come on stop it and have fun!” Her voice went a bit husky at the end and he felt unnecessary  blood flowing between his legs.

“Can I just sit here instead? I haven’t been to one of these, I don’t know what to do.”

“Alright fine,” she pouted, “but let me buy you a drink and we can socialise together.” She winked at him as she walked over to the bar.

He walked over to a free booth and sat down. ‘This place is odd.’ “She’s got you wrapped around your finger huh?” He heard John as he sat down next to him. “She’s good for you Sherlock. You both deserve each other.” Mary who sat next to him nodded enthusiastically. “See? Mary agrees with me.”

“What are you talking about?” Sherlock feigning innocence. “We are nothing but friends.”

“But friends turn into lovers Sherlock,” Mary put her input in, “and I can see the way she looks at you she feels the same way. That girl is enamoured with you.”

Sherlock couldn’t help but feel something stir inside him. ‘Well this is a weird feeling.’ “Wow, Sherlock Holmes speechless, that’s one for the books.” John teased him as he sipped his beer.

“What’s this? Sherlock being speechless?” He saw her as she tried not to tip over the beers she was holding. “Who managed to make him speechless? I want to personally meet them.” She winked at him as she slid over next to him.

‘She smells like fruit. Apple and grapefruit, not one of those really fruity smells, just the right ratio. And it smells heavenly.’  “No one’s managed to make me speechless.”

“Well, that’s sad.” She laughed along with John and Mary.

“How was your trip to the bar?” Sherlock asked, he wasn’t good at this. Never was. That’s why he stayed out of dating.

She gave him a confused look, “It was fun, I guess? I got a discount off the beers.”

He saw John silently chuckling to himself and gave him a glare. “Well, this is a great club. How did you find this?”

She shrugged, “It isn’t really a bar, more like a get together social thing.” She furrowed her brows and laughed. “I know, what a great description but that’s the best I can do. That’s why I’m friends with you, you’re great at describing things.” She winked at him and scooted closer to him.

“That’s why you’re friends with me?”

“Of course.” She linked her arms around Sherlock’s neck and nuzzled his neck. “I’m kidding. You’re a great man, there’s a lot more reasons as to why I’m friends with you but I can’t be bothered.”

Sherlock felt heat rush up to his neck and face. John raised one of his eyebrows at him. “Excuse me?” Sherlock and John’s stare were interrupted by a man. “Sorry to bother, but I was just wondering if you would like to dance?” He turned to her and offered his hand.

He saw her blush and felt jealousy creeping in again. “Sorry,” she briefly looked at Sherlock, “I’m feeling a bit tired and I just don’t feel like dancing.” She gave him one of her trademark smiles.

“Oh, okay then.” He gave her a brief grin and walked away.

Sherlock felt relieved and relaxed in his spot. The four of them talked on for about 25 minutes until she heard her favourite song. “Ladies and Gentleman now is the time to take your loved ones out to dance floor.”  The song ‘One and Only’ by Adele began.

“I love this song!” She exclaimed as she jumped out of the booth. “Dance with me please?” She held out her hand to Sherlock who had an impassive look on his face. “I always dance to this song.”

John and Mary watched the scene unfold before them. They really did think that she was perfect for Sherlock. They complimented each other, very well infact.

Sherlock felt the odd sensation in his stomach again. It felt nice. He didn’t reply to her but just took her hand and led them to the dance floor. “I thought you were tired?” He held her waist as one of her hands clutched his arm and took his other hand.

“Can I tell you a secret?” She whispered into his ear. He nodded. “I just didn’t want to dance with him, I wanted to dance with someone else.” She rested her head on his chest.

‘This feels nice. More than nice. Indescribable.’ “Who?”

“Guess. You’re good at this.” She felt his chest rumble with a silent laugh. “Figured it then did you?”

‘Yes.’ He responded with a hum. ‘I could get used to this.’ He gripped her waist a bit tighter and she hugged him tighter.

John and Mary who were still sitting in the booth both smiled at each other and raised their glasses. “Who do you think will ask first?” Mary asked her husband.

“Her.” Mary laughed and nodded. “But the first to say I love you? Him.”

But you came around
And you knocked me off the ground from the start

Who am I to you?” She whispered as he looked down on the fragile girl.
“You are a sequence of note running in my head. A song that I could never forget. I see you when I want to think of something beautiful, when I’m alone I wondering if you’re ok, because you never really give me an answer. You say you’re sorry too much, and it’s cute with you cuss, when you’re mad you look as though you blush. You have an imagination filled with toys and you focus too much for your own good. You think you’re not perfect, but to me you’re a dream come true. I look at you and I see the world, I see you. Reality comes back and her day dreaming is over and the murmuring girl looks up to the man who is confused and asks,

MITAM song blurb: If I could fly

“If I could fly, I’d be coming right back home to you.”

Text in bold indicates Harry’s texts and text in italics indicates (y/n)’s texts.

I’m out with my Mum but I’ll be home in an hour?

Sounds good x

I just got home and rang you five times but I’ve just realised that it’s 3am where you are. Hope you’re having sweet dreams about your fabulous girlfriend xx

“God I love my wife ‘n everything but I am so glad for a day in the studio.” Harry laughed when his friend walked through the doors of the small studio, looking as sleep deprived as any other father of two.

“The joys of marriage, eh?”

“She’s been moody with me all week,‘s not my fault I didn’t hear the baby crying when it was my turn to get up with her!” He scoffed, throwing his jacket on the rack in the corner. “Appreciate these kid-free years you have with your missus, the most action I get these days is seeing her pump milk because apparently not even my magic touch will make her boobs feel better.”

“You’re gross.” Harry grimaced, looking up from where he was strumming lightly on his guitar. “Are we going to write some music today or just talk about how hard your life is because you’re not getting any action these days?”

“Fuck off.” He laughed. “Just because you have an active sex life.”

Harry laughed along but felt his heart twist when he realised he hadn’t even spoken to his girlfriend in three days now, let alone be intimate with her. It wasn’t by fault of either of them that their relationship was on hold right now and there was nothing they could do about their demanding jobs but he wishes he was able to go home in the evenings and have his girl waiting for him, enjoying their ‘kid-free years’ as he had been advised to. She wasn’t bitter about it, she was more than understanding, as was he about her schedule- they just needed to work on making their relationship a priority over their careers.

Pushing the thoughts to the back of his mind, he decided to get to work instead to take his mind off it all.

By the end of his day in the studio, Harry felt slightly better when he realised he had got all his feelings out in the form of a song. It was a song personal to his current situation but he knew the other three boys would definitely be able to relate.

“I better get going, promised the wife I would do dinner tonight.” His friend announced once they decided they were happy with how the demo of the song was sounding.

“That’s no problem, I’ll lock up here.” Harry nodded with a smile.

“See you tomorrow!” He called on his way out, his headlights illuminating the room through the window moments later, before they began to gradually get further away to the point where they could no longer be seen.

After a while of tweaking the song slightly, he looked at the clock and calculated in his head what time in would be back home.

Can you talk? x

I can talk quietly, I have a sleeping cat on my lap x

He smiled, happy that they finally had a free moment together and wasted no time in clicking the face time icon in the corner of the screen.

“Hey stranger.” Her tired smile greeted him after two rings.

“I’ve missed you.” He smiled, head resting on his arm which was propped up on the guitar on his knee.

“I know, it’s been ages since we talked.” She yawned. “Someone fell asleep the other night after telling me he would be waiting for my call.” Her teasing smile made him laugh quietly.

“You know what I’m like; wide awake one minute and dead to the world the next.”

“True.” She giggled.

He knew it was nearing the early hours of the morning where she was but the conversation flowed so freely, talking about anything and everything, that he figured she needed this call just as much as he did and so tried not to think of the time difference as they talked for what must have been almost an hour

“I was in the studio today.” He announced. “Well, I still am.” He flipped the camera round to show her that he was indeed still in the studio. She giggled when he waved through the mirror.

“Productive day?” She asked.

“Very productive.” He nodded once the camera had flipped back round to face him. “Got a song written.”

“That was very productive.” She looked impressed. “Dare I ask what it’s about or is it a one direction exclusive top secret?”

“Well, it is about you… I think.” He smiled sheepishly.

“You think?” She laughed.

“Yeah.” He nodded. “I didn’t really have you, or us, in mind when I was writing it but I realised when I heard it back that it was the perfect song for us.”

“Can’t wait to hear it then.” She smiled, yawning again.

“You can hear it now, I just haven’t quite figured the exact tune out but I have a rough idea.”

“Really?” Her eyes lit up, excited at the idea of Harry singing a song which he thinks is about her to her for the first time.

“As long as you promise to keep it between us.”

“Pinky promise.” She held her pinky finger up to the screen and he laughed before clearing his throat and setting his phone up in front of him.

“If I could fly.” His deep, raspy singing voice sounded more perfect than she remembered and it filled her heart with contentment at the familiar sound. “I’d be coming right back home to you.” She smiled when she realised how the song fit perfectly in describing them.

Halfway through, she couldn’t keep her eyes open any longer and her phone slipped gently from her hand, the view on the screen now just the dark ceiling of their bedroom. Harry’s focus was completely on the song so he didn’t notice the movement until he had finished and looked to his phone to see what she thought.

He smiled when he realised he had sung her to sleep and simply cut off the call, sending her a text right after.

Sweet dreams, love. Wish I was there with you xx

If only I could fly.. xx

This looks like Bonnie is having dinner with her GF and her “dad”

I can’t believe Marceline let Bonnie rant in front of Simon and she smiled

When Simon ask that Bonnie has a boyfriend, she admittedly said “no”.

And then Bonnie smiled!

Wtf, is Marcy singing about Bonnie because there’s an image of her and it looks like from the episode Sky Witch

And at the end of the music video, there’s two people with long hair, holding hands and watching the sunset together which looks like to me it’s her and Bonnibel

For this LGBT month, I’ve decided to post this again but more evidence. I still hope that this will become cannon becuase of the many moments they had and it’s pretty convince that they should be together. With each season 7 has shown many interaction between these, so I’m hoping this will finally make it happen. I also hope their will Bubbline moments in The Music Hole. Also I’m trash and I hope this will be cannon!

Sorry this took so long to actually get on here…I’d been typing…too much…hahaha…right so, HIGHLIGHTS! Just a reminder that what I saw was the first PREVIEW and I already know they’ve made some script changes, so until opening night on April 4th things will still be changing! Anyway here are my highlights (Re: Lauren trying not to just type out the entire musical.)

“Oh, c’mon Jimin! Who are you texting, hm? Show me, show me!” Taehyung lunged from his seat and across the table in an attempt to snatch Jimin’s phone from his hands. I want to discuss that Marco has never shown any romantic interest in Star in the entirety of the show, and how that doesn’t lessen his relationship with her. In addition to the fact that Marco cannonly is dating Jackie and she has always been shown as his crush beforehand, there is also zero evidence that Marco ever felt anything other than platonic love for Star, and that’s not something to be disappointed about.

“But Marco always hugs her.”

Hugs are not inherently romantic and every hug, and I mean every hug Marco has given to Star has been a way to comfort her, show support for her, or because he’s relieved that she’s okay. The first season finale hug and the Bon Bon the Birthday Clown hug is Marco consoling Star for the emotional trauma she just went through, not an indication that he has romantic feelings for her. To a lesser extent, the hug in Starcrushed was to comfort Star because she was embarrassed about Marco hearing that she had a crush on him, and to make sure that they were still on good terms as friends. An even lesser extent is the hug at the end of Mr. Candle Cares as he comforting her after her panic over having to be Queen of Mewni, and it also shows that he supports her in however she runs her kingdom. The hug from Baby was showing his support that he knew she would pass Baby’s tests, also not an indication that he’s romantically interested in her. And the other hugs like from when she was able to stop her bike on her own and when she came back from running away was his joy that his friend wasn’t hurt, again not evidence that he wants to date her.

“But he said she looked amazing before she went to the Blood Moon Ball, and he didn’t want her to go with Tom.”

Compliments about physical appearance are not inherently romantic, you can recognize someone as attractive without being personally attracted to them. And Marco wasn’t jealous of Tom, he was worried that Star would get hurt again, and the whole point of the episode was for Marco to be a better friend and trust Star with her own decisions not that Marco would be better for her than Tom.

“But what about the dance during the Blood Moon Ball, and when the Blood Moon showed up when Star was in danger during his date with Jackie?”

This is going to a be a two parter:

Souls coming together doesn’t automatically mean romantic pairing, and yes Tom and the other demon thought of it like that but that’s because Star was Tom’s ex-girlfriend, so it makes sense that they would think it would get her to date him again. But it was never stated what the combining of souls was based on (the judge-like demon just said two lucky souls), so it could be based in the deep bond of friends who love each other (platonically of course). Reminder: romantic love isn’t “higher” than platonic love so it totally makes sense that the Blood Moon could pick two lucky souls that had a very deep bond of friendship, which is what happened with Marco and Star. Therefore, the moon appearing while Star is in danger is just indicating that the friend Marco deeply cares about is in trouble.

About Marco specifically during the dance, he actually does not seem affected by it at all. While Star is all stary-eyed and wooed, Marco talks to her like nothing is different and is only thinking about leaving the ball becuase “it’s the worst”. He doesn’t show any romantic interest in her at all: he’s just creeped out and bored by the ball. (The lack of traditional ballroom dance may also be a part of this but I really wanted to point out that they dance in the “butterfly” position for the majority of it).

“But what about them singing Just Friends together?”

They already stated that that was their second favorite song, since they also sang it together in the bathroom, so it makes perfect sense that they would want to sing it together. And let’s not forget that Marco also sang along with Jackie, and she’s the one he kissed during the song, obviously showing who his romantic feelings are towards. Also, by the way the song ended with focusing solely on Star, it feels to safe to say that the song was more about her feelings than Marco’s anyway.

Final Thoughts:

When Marco found out that Star had a crush on him, he was super uncomfortable and upset that “things got weird with Star”. He didn’t reciprocate her feelings (Star said so herself) because he wanted things “to go back to normal”: them being friends. He ran after Star because he was suddenly told his best friend has a crush on him and is leaving and can’t come back, and so he had no idea what’s going on. Overall, it’s obvious that Marco loves Star as his best friend, but he just is not romantically interested in her. And this is important, their relationship is in no way “lesser” because it’s platonic.

Shawn Mendes x Reader

words: 1351

„Hey guys“, you greeted your fans through the screen. “Is everything okay? Can you hear me?” Immediately the comments were flooded, telling you that everything was working.
“Okay good, how are you guys? Long time since my last livestream.”

When you were little you had discovered your love for singing and a few years ago you started doing covers on YouTube. Soon people became aware of you and you did a few collaborations with a few artists like Bea Miller or Zedd and so you already built up a little fanbase, and every once in a while you made livestreams for them, like on this day.

You asked what you should sing and after some Ed Sheeran songs and “Sorry” by Justin Bieber one comment caught your eye. “Treat you better by Shawn Mendes,” it said.
You heard the song many times before so it was no problem for you. While you were singing, you got that idea and you changed the lyrics a little and made a girl version of it. The fans seem to like it.

“Better than she can,” you finished the song. In your opinion, it was the best cover today and your fans loved it too. It was already late and it was a good ending to your livestream so you dismissed yourself from your fans and turned off your laptop. You went to sleep, without a hunch of what tomorrow would bring.

You woke up early in the morning. You got yourself ready and made some breakfast. You sat at the table while checking your phone and you almost spilt your cereals when you saw it. You twitter was exploding with messages. “Omg please collaborate @y/n @shawnmendes” “@y/n this would be so amazing please make it happen! “ “My two faves @y/n @shawnmendes “ “@y/n Shaaaawnnn <3 “. At first, you had no idea what all these people were talking, but soon you understood what was all that about when you saw tweets by Shawn Mendes. A fan posted your treat you better cover and he answered to it. “This is amazing. I love your voice and it would be great to work with you @y/n”
He also had started following you.

You were amazed and extremely happy that he saw it and liked it. His words made you smile and you were proud of yourself, since Shawn was an amazing artist and to hear that he loved your voice was an incredible compliment.
You didn´t know what kind of person Shawn was and you didn´t know if he was being serious about working with you so you texted him. You hadn´t much hope that he would really see it, but after about two hours you got back a message from him.
To your question, if he really would like to work with you, he replied that he definitely wasn´t joking and that he would love to.

From time to time you texted with him, you talked with him about his and your music and how you two could assemble it. He was on tour but he promised you that as soon as he would find time you two would meet to work on something.

After three months you finally found time. You were nervous. Of course, you already did collaborations but you never really wrote a whole song together with one of them, but with Shawn you would.
You met at his little studio in Toronto, where he worked when he was at home and he already waited on the door when you arrived. “It´s great to see you,” he said after he welcomed you with a hug.  “I´m glad we finally found some time.”
He went into the next room and you followed him. About 10 guitars hung on the wall and a keyboard and a microphone stood next to a desk on whom his laptop with headphones was placed. The room was decorated with nice lamps and tapestries, who made look everything comfortable.
Shawn took a seat on his chair and you sat opposite from him on the couch. You talked a little but soon he showed you what song he was writing on, or rather which ideas he had for it. He wanted to make it a duet so he needed you to help him.

You spent the whole day writing lyrics and experimenting with melodies on the keyboard.
Shawn and you got along very well, of course you worked hard but there were also a lot of funny moments were you two just laughed about stupid things you said or did, and at the end of the day you had almost half of the song.

The next day was the same. Before midday you drove to Shawn to finish the song. You worked again the whole day and after some more exhausting hours the song was practically finished.
Shawn sat next to you, watching you while you wrote the last line of the lyrics on paper.
“Finished” you smiled at Shawn who looked at you with shining eyes. “We made it,“ he said and raised his hand so you could high-five him.
It were long two days and you were tired (believe it or not, songwriting is exhausting) but you felt so proud and happy, you didn´t mind.

“Thank you so much for your collaboration. The song wouldn´t be as good as it is now without you. We´re a good team” Shawn said while he put the food, which he ordered to celebrate your work, on the table. “Yes we are. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to work with you.” You smiled and helped him packing out the Chinese boxes. It was summer so you two sat outside on the patio, enjoying your food and talking. You told him about your family and how excited your mother was when she heard that you would make a song with him and how your brother told her she was totally overreacting because he didn´t know Shawn. “No offence, but he´s into a different kind of music. He didn´t even like the songs I wrote …”   “But they´re great!” he said, referring to some ideas about songs you showed him earlier.  “You think so?” “Yes, I do. They aren´t perfect but they are a very good start and you have talent. You showed that today and yesterday.” You weren´t sure about that. You had a few songs, but you aren´t really content with it so you never published them but you had to promise Shawn that you will write more and that he will be the first one to hear when you have something.

Shawn told you about his family and his career as well. He told you funny stories about him and his friends when they were younger, and you almost spit out your food because you couldn´t stop laughing, and Shawn wasn´t doing much better.
“Man I miss them.” He said with a sad smile after you two calmed down. “Don´t you see them anymore? “ He shrugged. “Rarely. They are all at colleges and I´m barely at home so it´s hard.” You looked at him. “At least you have real friends, which is more than you can say for me.”
So you told him about your bad experiences with your “friends” and the conversation turned into a different direction, but you didn´t mind. Of course, you like to hear funny stories, but who doesn´t love deep conversations about life and discuss your problems with a good friend, sitting outside till midnight?
This was when you realised that you really found a friend in Shawn. He wasn´t the ´famous guy you work with´ anymore, he was Shawn, a person you knew already after two days so well like none of your other workmates. Quasi overnight you two turned into close friends and you loved that you finally found someone you could open up again. You were sure, this wasn´t the last song you wrote together with him.

Eraser: Eraser is easily one of Ed’s best and most honest raps I think he’s put out there. YNMIDNY and Take It Back have more the undertones of not giving a fuck about what the industry thinks and staying a step ahead while being aware of the darkness to avoid. Eraser shows the side of Ed I feel he had been trying to hide from us. It’s honest about his struggles and alludes to cocaine, which is a terrifying drug (not that he needs to be told).  It seems to be an almost apology for the wrong turns he’s made throughout his career; to us, to his family and friends, and to himself. I think this song is the perfect reminder as to why Ed took his year long break to find himself and his happiness again and for that reason it is a perfect opener for this album. It forever warms my heart endlessly to know Ed trusts us with songs like this that are so brutally honest and full of his deepest emotions. I feel happy that he can open up and get these feelings out, but I hope he never feels like he needs to apologize to us for things like this. This is a reminder that celebrities are real people too, just like you and me. It can’t be easy to live under a microscope all the time. I hope he knows how much we love and appreciate him. We are well aware he is not a perfect person and it is totally acceptable to make these mistakes and lose yourself because everyone does.

Castle on the Hill: I remember when Ed dropped this song and Shape of You at the same time, I was immediately drawn to this one despite the ABSOLUTE BOP that Shape of You is. It made me feel so nostalgic for a childhood that wasn’t even mine and that is an amazing talent that no other artist has ever really made me feel (besides when I was 4 and first heard ‘butterfly kisses’ with my dad). This song made me, for the first time in my entire existence, feel nostalgic for my home town, I remember being back on campus in the city and crying in my bed about home AND I WAS MISERABLE IN MY HOME TOWN. I have always heard that nostalgia is a dirty liar and they would be right. But I found that, even though I hated home, I felt a longingness to be there and was reminded of the little moments of drinking in corn field at my friends barn and running through fences when the neighbors called the cops, of driving down every country road around my house with my dog or best friend listening to music, of all the little memories Ed sang about. It gave me an over powering feeling of excitement for the future; to look back and feel happy and whole at my life as ed does. As I have said so many times, I feel blessed to be alive at the same time as an artist like Ed Sheeran. He trusts us with these personal feelings. Hearing this song reminded me a lot of the same sensation I got from watching the Photograph music video. I felt like he had let us into such a different point in his life, before fame and music and before we existed in the same world. Letting us into his childhood and pre-fame life is such a big deal and he has no obligation to tell us anything about his past. I’m lucky to love an artist that acts as our friend in telling us childhood stories and secrets.

Dive: This one if for sure in the top 3 best of this album. I love the beat and the whole idea of starting a relationship and being nervous on whether or not to trust them or to just dive in. I think this might be the most relatable and best song both lyrically and sound wise on this album. Also, I low key see this as an Ath*na drag… do with that what you will.

Shape of You: I’m very happy Ed released this song first because it’s catchy and attracted more people to the album and him in general. It’s a very different sound and at first listen, I thought it was the SING of divide and didn’t love it, though it is an absolute tune. As I listen to it more, the more I really hear the lyrics. I appreciate a big star like Ed writing a song about the female body without degrading it. Also, he is talking about the entire shape of the female body; any and all types. As someone who has struggled with eating disorders and body image issues, it actually made me tear up a bit when he talked about appreciating the female body because the media usually puts pressure on women to look a certain way that isn’t possible and I guess I just really love Ed’s appreciation of women in every sense that he does. Also, that music video actually killed me and is absolute perfection. *cough**cough* SHIRTLESS ED!!

Perfect: I knew this song would be my favorite on the album because Ed had told us that this song was about Cherry and you all know how hard I ship them. Lyrically this song is beautiful. I think it really shows a very happy and in love side of Ed that we didn’t really get in + or x and I love that he is happy now. It is the purest song I have ever heard and an amazing change of pace from all of Ed’s other love songs because it’s not so sad. Thank you Ed for sharing yet another extremely personal part and emotion in your life. Cherry is extremely lucky to have such a beautiful song written for her AND I BETTER BE INVITED TO THIS WEDDING.

Galway Girl: This song makes me want to take Irish dancing again like I did when I was 4 years old just so I have the proper dance moves for this tour. I really appreciate hearing Ed say “pretty little” and sing about Irish girls. I had heard that this song wasn’t approved by his label because I guess Irish folk music isn’t popular but bitch now it is. I appreciate that Ed has always felt he could stay true to himself and where he comes from in his music. He is always 100% honest and embodies his roots, even when it’s not “the popular” thing to do. He had always talked about how important it is for artists to break in America to make it big, so most artists gear their art towards the American audience; Ed, though, has always kept it diverse and different. He further emphasizes the importance of being yourself to be the most successful you can be. Without realizing it, Ed has influenced and inspired so many people, whether it be in pursuing a musical career or just going out and doing what you want regardless of what anyone says. What a guy, what a bop.

Happier: This one was such a tease because I was really expecting a happy song but instead I got my heart ripped out. I think this goes with New Man because it’s about moving on from someone. It’s very heartbreaking to see someone you loved be happier with someone else and learn to be okay with it because if you really loved them you’d be happy for them regardless on if it includes you. This is another + vibes song and a sad song, and I live for the sad songs.

New Man: This song is a great change in pace and it gets goofy but is also serious. This is part of The Holy TrinityTM: YNMIDNY, Take It Back, and now New Man. This is such a drag on the fuck boys and I appreciate it and the fact that, even big famous popstar Ed, isn’t a fuck boy. This song drags this New Man to the deepest pits of hell with a catchy beat and lyrics about bleached assholes. Clearly this song is the quality content we all expected on this album and this honestly has to be in my top 3 favorite tracks on this album.

Hearts Don’t Break Around Here: For whatever reason, I really thought this was going to be the next Take It Back. I thought it was going to be a rap but again I WAS WRONG. This is the only time I actually enjoy being wrong and I should just learn to expect it with Ed because he’s always doing some type of shit to surprise us. It ended up being one of the sweetest songs on the album. It really continues on from Perfect and it makes my heart feel so full when I think of how happy he is now. As a fan, I think our job is to support his career but also respect his personal life and encourage his happiness; even if that doesn’t include us. This song just fills my heart and warms me at the thought of the place someone must be in to write songs like this. I feel lucky to hear it and anyone who has been through heart break and come out the other side can relate to the complete feeling you find in someone that you know won’t do that to you again. Ed somehow has the talent to make me feel in love when I’m not and has the ability to articulate the sweetest and purest feelings through amazing lyrics and song.

What Do I Know: To be completely honest, this is my least favorite song on the album and the only one I don’t really like. Ed had said his favorite lyric was in this song (Love can change the world) but I personally find it generic. Whoops. I do like the beat and how he mentioned his father. This album has such a big emphasis on family and love, so lyrically it related to that. But yeah not my favorite so I gtg.

How Would You Feel (Paean): I love this song and I’m adding it to the second Holy TrinityTM on this album: Perfect, Hearts Don’t Break Around Here, and How Would You Feel. These all truly embrace the happy and in love feeling of this album and of course I love any song about Cherry. The story behind this song actually makes me kind of laugh because Ed had only just reconnected with Cherry a week before writing this and he says he loves her. I actually really do love the sound of this song, though to be honest it’s not my favorite on the album or lyrically. I think I didn’t dismiss this song because of the back story of it. I think this song has a very + feel to it about being young and innocently in love and I really live for that. It’s a very soft and beautifully written insight to the very precious and personal time in their relationship.

Supermarket Flowers: OH GOD HERE COMES THE WATER WORKS. This song killed me just like I had expected. Ed has always been incredible at writing songs in honor of other people. I think this song killed me just as much as Afire Love did because I had just lost my great grandmother a week before this album was released. I felt an incredible connection to putting someone to rest and getting supermarket flowers to decorate their grave. It’s heartbreaking but also peaceful to know they are at rest. “you are an angel in the shape of my mom” killed me because I have never heard someone describe having an angel in such a beautiful way, as well as “heaven singing hallelujah you’re home” describing the peace that comes at knowing someone’s at rest. He wrote this song for his mother and played it at his grandmother’s funeral, which is so personal and beautiful.

Barcelona: Hearing Ed sing in Spanish was beautiful and amusing because I don’t think it was proper Spanish, but again I love the very worldly vibes that came with this album. I think this year off was both good for Ed’s mental health and his sound. It’s not only lyrically diverse but also sound and culture diverse and I love it. I feel like I’m traveling around the world listening to this album.

Bibi Be Ye Ye: I was especially excited for this song because I knew it was the song he wrote in Africa. This song truly embodies the theme of Divide and its diverse sounds. I remember when x came out and people were complaining that he “sold out” to pop and lost his sound, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I was pleasantly surprised that Ed took such a big leap in sound and really changed his image and I loved it. He got to experiment and find himself in x and I think that gave way to his confidence to make Divide because he did so well last time with the diversity. I appreciate the he takes sounds from all over the world and represents other cultures while still respecting them and of course giving them credit. This is also such a BOP and the upbeat kind of song that it going to make everyone dance at his concerts.

Nancy Mulligan: This is an absolute BOP and the story behind it is amazing. It’s quite amazing that he wrote a song in the point of view of his grandfather, much like how I was blown away by Small Bump. The idea that he could embody the view point of a love story that happened years before he was born is quite amazing. One of the things I enjoyed most about this album was his focus on love and family and this song fuses them together with a very Irish sound. When this song title came up on the track list before the album was dropped, I was very curious to find out who this song was about because WHO IS NANCY? Ed being Ed didn’t fail to let us in on not only his very personal life but also his grandparents love story, which is quite an amazing tale. Like so many of Ed’s songs, I felt like I was almost invading someone personal space or listening in to a deep conversation that I was not part of. It is so personal and no matter how many times Ed is open and honest with us, I still get blown away; especially with this song in the fact that he references his grandmother in the point of view of his late grandfather. His story telling skills forever give me chills and take my breath away. I can only imagine what his grandmother must feel listening to this.

Save Myself: Jesus I was not ready for this song. It had so much pain in it and it kills me to know how greedy and selfish people are towards people who give and are the most selfless. It worries me a lot about Ed, but again I think this song compliments Eraser. He really needed the break from fame and especially his phone. I hope Ed learns to say no and to learn to be a little more selfish when it comes to giving people things, and I hope people who took and took from him learn to be more appreciative. I could say so much more about that, but I think I’ve rambled enough.

So, overall I think this is the best album Ed wrote and I love every song on it, which is a first! He was so open and honest with us about his family, emotions, love, pain, and loss. I appreciate Ed and all he gives us. Love you Ed, I wish you a long life xx

Beat 1 Interview with Matty

Zane: Do we really need to do introductions, we’ve surpassed that. For those people listening all around the world right now, we capture Matt Healy from the brilliant band The 1975 at a magical time, at a time of transition and of celebration because everything you’ve achieved thus far as a band. Getting towards the end of this touring cycle at some point this year, and feeling like you’ve achieved on album number two. Congratulations man.

Matty: Thanks man.

Summary: Love. It’s a strange thing. It can either make you the happiest person in the world or the most miserable. You don’t know when it comes or when it goes. Sometimes it’s not returned and sometimes it is. We don’t know how to deal with it, but we still yearn for it.

A/N: Hi everyone! So like I said before, I’ll be writing these little drabble like things every once in a while throughout the course of this month. (Oh ho ho February, what a coincidence!) Some of them might not make sense because I’m really just writing on a whim and trying to get more ideas for stories going, but I still hope you enjoy them! Xx

Yoongi isn’t the cold person like everyone perceives him to be. Closed off? Yes, there is that quality to him, but there’s also the side of him that he doesn’t show very often. He’s a youth, he likes to live in the moment. He doesn’t hesitate to speak what’s on his mind, but he also makes sure that what he says doesn’t harm others in ways they’re not supposed to.

That’s what you admire about him.

Little Big Town Talk Taylor Swift, Beyoncé vs. Adele, And Excellent New Album

Imagine if a game-changing email from Taylor Swift went to spam. Little Big Town can, because the pop princess wrote one such message and sent it to Phillip Sweet, the quartet’s least reliable member when it comes to timely internet replies. “He’s a horrible responder,” says Karen Fairchild, 47, glancing fondly at Sweet, at 42 the baby of the band: “I love you, but you are.”

Fortunately, Sweet eventually did check his mail and saw the offer to record the Swift-penned break-up ballad “Better Man”; the song went on to become the group’s third chart-topping single. “It opened up a brand-new audience for us,” says 47-year-old Kimberly Schlapman. Over very potent fruity cocktails at Catch LA in West Hollywood, we asked the longtime friends and musical soul mates—who also include Jimi Westbrook, 46, Fairchild’s husband for more than a decade—to talk about their new album, The Breaker, their recent Grammys appearance, and being totally, ahem, synced up.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Which song do you think will be the crowd-pleaser?

SWEET: There’s one called “Happy People” that kicks off the record, about how you can’t [rely on] someone else to make you feel happy. It’s a hopeful song, and it’s really perfect for where the world is right now. It seems like we’re in a gigantic swirl of chaos.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Sounds like you just got a little political there.

FAIRCHILD: It depends on what you mean by political. If tolerance and kindness and acceptance and love are political, then I guess we’re political.

SCHLAPMAN: “Better Man” is a crowd-pleaser. The audience has expanded for that because it’s from Taylor Swift—all of her fans want to know, “What? She wrote a song and a country band cut it?”

SWEET: [When we got her email] I was thinking, “Please let it be good. Please let it be good.” [Everyone laughs.] We all fell in love with the melody.

SCHLAPMAN: It’s the first time she’s pitched a song to another artist.

WESTBROOK: We’ve known her since she was knee-high to a grasshopper.

FAIRCHILD: We used to hang out in the dressing room with her at the CMA Awards and play videogames.

SCHLAPMAN: She wrote her high school paper about us!

FAIRCHILD: It was a paper about perseverance, how to keep going. It was pretty cool.

Hey this is a bit out of the blue but a while ago you answered and ask about your favorite bands and three of those also happened to be my three favorite (The dresden dolls, ajj and say anything) so we probably have similar music tastes and I was wondering if you've listened to any of amanda palmer's music and if so what did you think of it?

I loved Who Killed Amanda Palmer, but the new stuff she’s doing with the Grand Theft Orchestra isn’t really doing it for me. I think that the Piano is Evil thing she released on Bandcamp sounds a lot better, and while a couple of the live sets she does with a full band are really cool to see, especially when they try to go acoustic, I’m just not into the recorded sound of it as much as I’m into her work with The Dresden Dolls.

I discovered The Dresden Dolls when I was angry and queer and eleven years old, which is the perfect time to discover The Dresden Dolls.

But looking back (and I feel this way about Mindless Self Indulgence and Voltaire and Marilyn Manson and Emilie Autumn and a ton of other bands, too; even AJJ, which is still my absolute favourite band) a lot of what I thought was profound and super punk rock was just the same shock value humour of the era rebranded as art. She was, to me, the musical equivalent of Jhonen Vasquez, or bad satire: something I loved dearly that got dangerous when people replaced their personality with it.

I can’t deny that Amanda Palmer and The Dresden Dolls influenced me profoundly, and I won’t pretend that I don’t still jam out to their stuff on the reg, but I think they’re one of those bands that has to hit you at the right time in your life. I don’t think I’d find, say, an upbeat song about a back alley abortionist funny or quirky or dark if it were released today, is what I’m getting at.

The appeal and the fault of Amanda Palmer’s work is that she assumes somebody else out there is as fucked up as she is, and pursues that assumption with raw, almost vulgar, vulnerability and shamelessness. She’s someone who thinks you never have to apologise for art, and I used to respect that a lot, but I still have to skip past her cover of “Fuck the Police” with a tinge of regret and secondhand embarrassment. And while I need that sincerity sometimes (“The Perfect Fit”, “Straight”, “The Bed Song”, “Judy Blume”), it can also come off as pretentious and shallow and tone deaf (“Trout Heart Replica”, “Bigger on the Inside”, “A Mother’s Confession”, that poem she wrote for the Boston Marathon bomber, “Bad Habit” once you learn she never really self-harmed). It’s beautiful and it’s disgusting and it’s honest and it’s ostentatious and it’s very, very human.

Look, don’t get me wrong. I’m the Prince of Navel-Gazing. I’m a sentimental little fuck who thinks every moment needs to be art. I listen to Tom Waits in torn up lingerie and take my psych meds with black coffee and write love letters on my antique typewriters and unironically think Bukowski and Chuck Palahniuk are pretty good writers, but that can’t be all of you, and it’s not something I’m as eager to romanticise as an adult.

I guess what I mean is that I still love her art, but don’t always agree with her as a person. That would’ve been shorter to type.

I can’t fucking believe I need to defend Dany from misogynist assholes even today.
She is fire and she is as important as Jon,and NO the Dragons will not leave her for Jon and NO her army will NOT obey Jon;She’s the general and command of the biggest army in the world and the mother of Dragons.
If some people can’t stand she,a woman, is the most powerful person in the series and start to wish the dude (the perfect;Jesus;saith) Jon take everything from her cause he’s the PTWP,I got news.
These people really think HBO spent millions of dollars per episode in Daenerys scenes just to her can give everything to Jon?the beloved perfect prince?
Take out your head out of your asshole and fucking wake up!
THEY ARE EQUALS!THEY ARE THE SONG OF ICE AND FIRE.!!! Give my girl credit and stop suck each other balls.
