I love you. So much. The expressions you draw in your comics are so *great*, I love the emotions you allow them to convey! That face that Cas makes at the end of the comic where he says Satan's baby can wait 2 hours is SO CUTE. Thank you for drawing it, Aaaaaaaaa!

i’ve been getting a lot of really sweet messages about the way i draw expressions in the last couple of days!? I’M SO GLAD

Do you have a giveaway going on or did I imagine it?

i do not! you’re probably seeing one that’s about a year old now, but people are still reblogging it (guessing this is because they haven’t checked the date on the original post)

looking back, i should’ve added the year to the original end date. apologies!

i actually love the small voice crack Mik makes when he says it'll be his win again at the ruins race, it's like he's holding back a cry he's that happy to see Sorey again

I do too.  I actually really like Ohsaka Ryota’s voice acting for Mikleo this entire episode, especially for all the Sorey/Mikleo moments because he really did do his best in giving emotion to all of Mikleo’s lines.  So I did like that part.

But I think overall the game epilogue was better - for one thing I was crying through it, here I was like, “Okay, well I like the tackle-spinny-hug” but it’s a far cry from, haha, flat out sobbing at the ending.

And I think that’s one of my problems with the anime’s ending is that they did cut out a lot of the character development and moments for both of them so the emotional pay-off of Sorey and Mikleo having a reunion at the end just isn’t there.  Like we get a sense from Mikleo’s side that he’s really broken up over this.  Sorey’s side … it’s hard to feel the emotional investment when he’s spent the entirety of S2 all but ignoring Mikleo on screen unless it’s convenient.

I watched high school of the dead,or at least I tried until episode 8.Way to many panty shots among other things, they get really distracting and it's hard to take a story seriously when I'm looking at teddy bear print panties ever five minutes.Plus I'm a girl so I don't really appreciate it,do guys actually like something so over the top and in your face?

The fan service wasn’t the reason I really liked High School of The Dead. For me, the ecchiness truly took a back seat to everything else that was transpiring on the screen. I loved the series because:

  • The characters were great and really fleshed out - each one had many layers to them, and their back stories were all really interesting to learn about. There was no one who bored me.
  • No one felt helpless - they each had their strengths, and all of them greatly contributed to the team’s survival, which I really liked.
  • There weren’t any notable cliches that are commonly associated with an ecchi series - these include a guy tripping over and fondling the girl, only to get slapped afterwards, or a guy walking in on a girl changing, only to get slapped afterwards, or a guy doing something by accident which upsets a girl so he gets slapped afterwards. That didn’t happen, which I found to be so refreshing.
  • Each of the 12 episodes had a different ending song - I really loved that about the show, and many of them were really great, I particularly liked the 1st, 4th, 10th and 12th endings. I think that Maon Kurasaki did a great job with all the songs.

Those are the reasons why I’m a huge fan of High School of The Dead.

Have you done Miranda for the character meme? I loved your thomas one!

so i actually haven’t written miranda (yet) but. i do have Thoughts!!!

1. i think that (much like silver) she has a similar mindset of not really caring about The Cause but caring A Whole Fucking Lot about her people (aka, thomas and james). she tries SO hard to get james and thomas to be more careful, and then she tries her absolute utmost to get james to stop his crusade, and then she almost fucking punches peter in the face when he suggests that james give himself up. she knows thomas is an idealist and tells james that he needs to balance him - because she knows that The Cause isn’t going to save them and, in fact, is more likely to doom them (which, incidentally, it basically does). a lot of really brilliant stuff has been written about how she and silver are mirrors in many ways, in terms of how they both try to convince flint to let go of the war and find peace, and i would add that a key aspect of that mirroring is that neither of them sees their “betrayal” as a “betrayal.” as miranda says to eleanor, she didn’t truly betray flint, and at his core, he probably knows it. i would also say that miranda’s love is largely a selfless one (unlike silver’s, but that’s a meta for another time); yes, she wants to be happy, but she wants just as much for james to be, as well.

2. that said, she has a pretty strong vengeful streak. she’s the one who tells james that alfred hamilton is aboard the maria alleyne, and also, “i want to see the noose around your neck and i want to pull the fucking lever with my own two hands”????? that’s someone who is fucking furious and is willing to go to pretty drastic measures for vengeance. i will also clarify that, because of the alfred hamilton thing, i don’t think it’s necessarily situational - yes, she’s particularly enraged at the audacity of peter’s attempt to solve all his own problems by shoving james into the limelight, but her grief and anger at all that happened in london are also quite powerful forces throughout. she feels just as deeply as james, she’s just as wounded, and she’s just as fucking pissed off about it.

3. TIED INTO THAT, she’s also grimly determined to make a life for herself and, by 1715, a happy life for herself and james. she isn’t ashamed of what she’s done, she knows how she moves through the world, and she really and truly wants to find peace. arguably, given a) all that she and james have said and done and sacrificed and b) the fact that their relationship functions for 10 years mostly as a weird and unfulfilling way of grieving thomas, that peace is impossible. but she believes in it because she has to - she sees abigail ashe and seizes on that path because she’s tired of living a half-life.

4. lastly (for now), i think miranda has a clearer understanding of the world than either thomas or james, tbh. this is actually also a parallel to silver’s clarity of vision in some ways, but miranda from the get-go is hyperaware of what the neighbors think, and of how that might impact her. that’s also part of why she warns james to be more cautious, and why she keeps telling him later that his path doesn’t lead to where he thinks it does. she literally gives james don quixote and pretty much says “this will help you deal with thomas’…….. Everything” because that’s where she sees her own role (seeing the world as it truly is) and generally, she does! however, i listed this last, because in a situation where this characteristic prudence runs up against her aforementioned Righteous Fury (e.g. when they’re talking to peter), the latter is what wins.

My girlfriend is super cute and I'm really proud of her since she's doing really well in her first semester of "real" college (she finished community college with her AA in December). She calls me her wife whenever she talks about me to people at work. Sometimes she snorts when she's laughing really hard and it's such an unexpectedly endearing thing about her. She likes to steal my side of the bed as soon as she notices I've gotten up. I love her a lot but don't have enough space left to elab--

I actually clutched at my heart this is too cute. It’s so obvious that y’all love each other a lot just by the way you type ugh just adorable

Please tell her I wish her all the luck at university! And congrats on the AA! That’s nothing to sniff at!

general li mulan

okay so i LOVE mulan okay. as far as i’m concerned it’s a Perfect Movie and doesn’t need any fixing. but i was thinking today and -

- what if mulan didn’t go to war to save her father?

say her father is dead, okay, killed by the previous war. so she’s raised by her mother and grandmother, women who’s complacency and softness has been worn away by necessity. she needs to marry well, for her family’s sake, because her mother has refused the hand of every man who offered. but mulan is even more rough around the edges than before, is educated not only in books (her mother said men wouldn’t find smarts attractive and grandmother pointed out that men aren’t always around and off to school mulan went) but in the sword too, taught to her by her classmate, ping.

mulan is considered in the lower end of the upper class, coming from a family of military men and scholars and successful merchants. ping is near the top, the son or nephew of an advisor to the emperor. his family is very rich and very important, and the reason they become friends is because mulan manages to notice something about him that he’s been hiding from everyone else - he’s going blind.

not totally blind, enough to get around, but blind enough that reading is difficult and swordplay is even worse, although once he has it down he has it. ping is no fool, he’s not weak or bumbling. his eyes just don’t work. so mulan notices and confronts him about it. she promises to keep it a secret, and hey, she’ll even help him with his assignments by reading the books out loud and helping him study. but in return he must teach her the sword, must teach her about military and tactics. he agrees.

ping and mulan become very good friends and there’s some raised eyebrows about it but they are TOO far away in class for it to be inappropriate, so they make tutting sounds and disapproving faces and let it go.

then the draft happens. ping can’t go to war, he won’t survive it. not with his eyesight like it is. so mulan offers him a deal - she’ll go to war for him, in his place. in return, if she survives, he must marry her. if she dies he must take care of her family.

ping can’t make this kind of family decision on his own, so he goes to his mother and tells her everything, about the eyesight and how he’ll die if he goes and mulan’s offer. his mother says he must keep it a secret from his father, but agrees - if mulan fights in her son’s place and survives, a wedding will be arranged. either way, mulan’s family will be taken care of. ping will be sent to live with some cousins in the meanwhile.

“you’re not in love with me, are you?” ping asks, helping mulan saddle her horse in the middle of the night. she scoffs and rolls her eyes, “not even a little. but marrying you will make my family happy, and besides, you’re my best friend,” she says, smiling, “better you than some grabby old man.” he smiles and hugs her and says, “i’m not in love with you either. but don’t die out there. we have a wedding to plan.”

so mulan goes to the camp, pretending to be ping, and she’s a little bit less lost but things still go as they go. she’s educated and trained, so it’s not hard for her to pass as ping. shang is keeping a special eye on her, thinking that she’s the son of an advisor, one of his father’s friends. and he sees how easily she excels, how quick thinking and smart she is, and starts giving her more and more responsibilities. by the time they’re called out, shang considers ping ie mulan to be his right hand man, and possibly his best friend.

he’s also a little bit in love with ping, and he’s long known he’s attracted to both genders, so he watches ping laugh and smile and the crease between his eyes when he frowns and does his best to let his feelings chase away the best soldier he has. every time shang looks at ping his heart clenches and he things to himself: i wish i could have you, i wish this was a time and a place where one man could have another, i wish you were a girl, is wish i was a girl - i wish we could be together. he’s literally a step away from doodling ‘li ping’ with little hearts over his battle plans.

so the battles happen. shang and ping lead their men together, respected and loved. they each get promoted, and promoted, and promoted. it’s been years, and it comes to a point where they’re both generals in their own right. they trust each other, care for each other. and are both secretly in love with the other.

mulan is so conflicted. because she wants this war to end and to go home and settle back into life and become ping’s wife, so she can have an easy life spent studying and learning with her family taken care of. that’s what she’d wanted. but now what she wants is shang, her best friend, her brother in arms, her fellow general. she wishes to be everything to him, aches to be the woman on his arm and in his bed, but knows it’s the one thing she can never be.

then that final battle happens. mulan’s quick thinking saves them all and ends the war - but she’s injured.

shang finds out the ping has been a girl all along. he demands explanations - so she tells him everything, that she traded places with ping to save him, to become his wife.

and the lies should sting the sharpest, but they don’t. she’s still the same person, after all. it’s that she’s promised to another man, for one second he’d thought he might have her, but no. so he agrees not to reveal her but he’s furious and furious at himself for being furious and they’re not the same now, broken and splintered and neither of them know what to do.

the war is over. they leave. mulan returns home, and thanks to her ping is now known as a respected general. she’s done her part and survived, and now she gets her reward - ping’s hand in marriage.

but she sees ping for the first time and flings herself into his arms and starts crying. she tells him everything, because he’s still her friend, her very best friend besides shang, the man whom she lied to and betrayed and loves. and ping listens and takes her by the shoulders and says - i’ll uphold our bargain, if that’s what you want. you can be my pampered wife, you’ve more than earned it. but if you want to go to shang, i won’t blame you. you deserve your happiness.

and mulan goes back and forth, but ultimately she decides she has to try. if shang rejects her she’ll return and marry ping and uphold her family honor. but if shang wants her - he’s not as high up as ping, but he’s high up enough to satisfy her family, and also she would love him and want him if he was no more than a farming peasant so it doesn’t matter much anyway.

she rides to the capitol. she finally meets ping’s father, running into him while looking for shang. “ah mulan,” says this man who was never supposed to know of her until she became his daughter-in-law, “i didn’t expect to see you here. how fortuitous. walk with me.” she does, wary, and that’s how she discovers - he and the emperor had discovered her deception a year in, but at that point she’d already proven herself too skilled and valuable to lose. he tells her that he will uphold his son and wife’s deal and gladly welcome her to his household - but that she’s earned her rank as general, and that he and the emperor have no problem with letting her keep it.

she says thank you, shocked and joyful, but that she has to talk to someone first. “ah, yes, young general li,” he says, eyes twinkling, “i do believe he’s around here somewhere.”

she has no idea how he seems to know everything, but she finally tracks down shang who’s ecstatic to see her and hates himself for it. she confesses - says she loves him, that she’s engaged to ping but willing and able to break this engagement for shang. who is dumbfounded and elated and says yes, of course, finally and forever.

and mulan accepts her rank and marries shang, and they become the literal power battle couple of the general li mulan and general li shang. ping becomes a scholar and marries a very nice young woman who loves reading and is happy to read aloud to her husband with his failing eyes.

and they all live happily ever after.

anonymous asked:

I am loving the top 10 lists!! Can you please do one that is like "top 10 vacation/travel stories"

Top 10 Vacation/Travel Stories:

10) The first time they go to Thailand to visit Phichit, they both try and speak as much Thai as they can to practice the language and be polite. The only problem is is that Viktor speaks about three words of actual Thai and the rest of his technique is just have a go and learn along the way and Yuuri has a really, really strong accent when he speaks Thai so Phichit spends the whole trip just laughing at both of them

9) Once when they were sunbathing on the beach Viktor fell asleep by accident and got sunglass tan lines burned onto his face and refused to come out of the house for days until they faded

8) Once during the NHK Trophy, Chris and Phichit were skating in it and Viktor and Yuuri had come to cheer them on and before the competition they went out to get food together. Since they were in Japan they all made sure to go to a café that was absolutely filled with posters of Yuuri just to watch him slowly die of embarrassment

7) On Viktor’s first visit to Japan he stayed in the onsen so long that Yuuri was concerned he had drowned because he decided that hot springs were the best things on earth and he never wanted to leave

6) During Yuuri’s first trip to Russia he met some of Viktor’s neighbours and they were all really nice but whenever he saw them gossiping in the halls of the building when he walked past he noticed they kept using the same phrase all the time before looking over at him and smiling and laughing. He got kind of self-conscious and worried that they were laughing at him or saying he wasn’t worthy of Viktor or something. When he repeated the phrase to Viktor it turned out that all of Viktor’s neighbours in his apartment block had taken to calling Yuuri ‘Viktor’s attractive foreign boyfriend’ and were usually gossiping about how lucky Viktor was whenever Yuuri walked by

5) The one I mentioned in a previous top ten about them both being on a long haul flight and Yuuri slept for the entire 15 hours and felt great and Viktor couldn’t sleep at all and got bored out of his mind because his boyfriend was asleep and not paying him any attention

4) Once Viktor and Yuuri both went back to Detroit for a Skate Club reunion for Yuuri and all the skaters there spent the entire time gawking at Viktor because A) Yuuri somehow managed to bag himself the Living Legend and they were all very jealous/impressed and B ) They all remembered how Yuuri used to be hell bent on beating Viktor and then the next time they see him he has a ring and they spend the entire time calling each other pet names and holding hands and generally being the cutest couple ever

3) The first time they visit Chris in Switzerland, Yuuri secretly practices French because it’s what he always hears Viktor and Chris talking in and he doesn’t want to sound ignorant or feel left out even though Viktor had already promised to translate if need be. But then they arrived and everyone was talking in German and Yuuri was like ‘what?’. And then they travelled somewhere else and everyone was talking in Italian and Yuuri was like ‘what???’ And then they finally went to the French speaking part of Switzerland but Chris offhandedly mentioned that there was also Romansh as another official language and Yuuri was like ‘help, I’m not multilingual enough for this’.

2) On Yuuri’s first trip to Russia he finally got to experience the dubious joy of Viktor’s driving which mainly consisted of him hanging on for dear life in the passenger seat like ‘we’re going to die, we’re going to die, Viktor I DON’T WANT TO DIE IN A PINK CONVERTIBLE’

1) Once Viktor and Yuuri were walking around Tokyo on a trip and lots of people were looking at them and Yuuri was just like ‘oh Viktor, look how many people are looking at you! There must be a lot of skating fans here.’ And Viktor was just sort of side-eyeing him like, ‘Yuuri do you think they’re looking at me, the Russian tourist, or you, Japan’s Ace who has won multiple gold medals for this country and whose face is on a billboard literally right across the street from us?’
