i really only shipped this because of the movie

Don’t Take Up Spaces that Aren’t Meant for You

I go to use the elevator in a high rise building only to find a sign that says “Please ask security for access to this elevator”. A week ago, that sign wasn’t there. When I ask the security guard why the sudden change in policy, they said that people from other floors in the building had been abusing their access to the elevator and that they needed to lock it down.

Let me make this perfectly clear: I could no longer independently access the only elevator available to take me to this part of the building because other people decided to use / abuse a space that was not meant for them instead of taking the stairs right next to the fucking elevator.

Here’s another example: In order to have access to an accessible room on a cruise ship, I have to submit a form stating that I do in fact  have a physical disability that prevents me from using a normal state room on the ship. I have to do this because able-bodied people have, in the past, been dishonest about the level of accessibility they require in order to have access to a larger stateroom without having to pay a premium.

How about this one: I go into the restroom of a massive convention center. Every single stall  in this restroom is empty except for the one handicapped stall in the back, which is being occupied by someone who does not need to use a handicapped stall. I now have to wait for that one person to exit the stall before I can use the restroom. Remember: This bathroom has 7+ other stalls that are built specifically to work for them, but they chose  to use the one space that is available to people like me.

Dear able-bodied people: Handicapped bathroom stalls, seating areas, staterooms, and elevators are not meant for you and you should not use them.

I do not care how big of a hurry you were in and how that elevator got you to where you needed to go faster. Because of you, I have to go find someone every time I need to use this elevator and if I can’t find them I GET NOTHING.

To you, that cruise ship can house 2000+ people and you have an opportunity to get a massive stateroom at no extra cost if you’re wiling to fib a little. To me, that cruise ship has a capacity of around 12 (the number of accessible rooms on the ship) and if they’re all full, I GET NOTHING.

To you, that movie theater has four really great seats right in the middle that just happen to have a handicapped accessible sign on them. To me, that theater has four seats and if they’re all full, I GET NOTHING.

And let me address the bathroom thing in particular. I don’t give a flying fuck if the handicapped stall was the only one available. You should pretend like it doesn’t fucking exist and wait in line like everyone else. *

Don’t take up spaces that were not meant for you. Because everything but those few precious spaces were not meant for us.

* Unless it’s literally the only stall in the bathroom or you’re about to absolutely shit yourself. Then it’s fine.

I Think Disney Forgot Who Was Dating Ben

Honestly, the producers of Descendants 2 gave Evie and Ben more chemistry in one movie than they did Mal and Ben in two. They made Evie perfect queen material, and gave her the best friendship with Ben. His face lights up when she walked into the room to deliver the news that Mal was gone, and when they were discussing how to get her back, they were standing close as HELL. I don’t even stand that close to my best friend unless I’m annoying her soul.

Then, they had matching outfits during “Chillin Like A Villain”. That was the most coupley thing in the movie! It’s Evie who reminds Ben of his promise to help the Isle kids, not Mal (who spent most of the movie having an understandable yet Extra™ breakdown). They even hold hands at the end of the movie!!! (I realize this is supposed to be a “togetherness” scene but come on - look at their faces)

And don’t get me started on Evie’s relationship with Mal, because there was no heterosexual explanation for that lmao

Long story short, Ben and Mal need to adopt Evie into their relationship because not only is she good for both of them, she’d make one hell of a queen.

(Disclaimer: I don’t hate Mal/Ben at All. I just really like the thought of that poly ship)

I hope this helps everyone out! I tried to think of as many similarities as I could and then threw in some that are worth the interest! Happy Hellatus lovelies!

Ok, I’m going to rant ... I know I shouldn’t, but I’ve been reading and listening to people’s reviews of Dead Men Tell No Tales, and you know what I’ve found? That most people are so fucking hard to please, it’s maddening. For example, people are bitching that Jack is too depressed and drunk in this one, that he isn’t the same positive, happy-go-lucky pirate that we saw in the first movie ... well, duh! He’s been stuck on land for the past goodness knows how many years, his ship is stuck in a fucking bottle, and he doesn’t have a crew! Of COARSE he’s not gonna be in a fucking cheery mood! Of COARSE he’s gonna want to get drunk off his face! I mean, ffs, he’s a pirate! The only place he’s happy is on the ocean, but he hasn’t been able to BE on the ocean because, again, HE HASN’T GOT A FUCKING SHIP OR CREW!! Then, of coarse, you have people comparing the bank heist scene to the scene in Fast 5, saying that Disney copied it. Seriously? Are people really THAT small-minded? I fucking swear, filmmakers can’t put ANYTHING into the plots of their films without some fuckwhistle comparing it to a scene in another movie! One person also said that Salazar wasn’t in the movie very much, and that if you are going to see the movie for Salazar, don’t ... Bitch, I will fucking see the movie for Salazar even if he’s in it for five fucking minutes! I did not wait a whole fucking year, getting excited for this character, AND he fact that he was being played by Javier Bardem, just for you to tell me not to fucking see it! Who the fuck are you to tell people whether or not they should see a movie?! Let people make up their OWN goddamn minds!  I could go on and on about the bitchiness that eminated from these reviewers, but I won’t, because it will only depress you. Either way, I’m still going to see this movie, I’m going to ENJOY this movie - because I’m not going to fucking sit their with a stick up my arse and compare it to the last ones - and all these whiney, hard-to-please haters can retreat back into the shadows of the sad little gutters they crawled out of.
A really frustrating thing about reylos?

They’re not star wars fans.

Ok I’m sure some are. But overall? Eh, I don’t think so.

The thing about reylo shippers is it’s almost comical how little fucks they give about anything else in the sw universe other than reylo. How often do you see a reylo shipper getting excited about an Ahsoka movie, or writing meta about R2D2, or being part of the Lando Calrissian Defense Squad?

More often than not, when I see a blog from somebody who ships reylo (not necessarily a reylo sideblog!) reylo is pretty much the only sw thing they post about. They don’t care about Luke Skywalker. They don’t care about Finn. (They don’t actually even care about Rey, if we’re being honest). All they care about is their nasty ship and their weird, convoluted theories of how it will become canonical. The only time I really see reylo shippers talking about other parts of the sw universe is when they’re pulling out random elements from the OT, or prequels, or legends verse as “evidence” that “proves” reylo.

It’s so weird how this happened too, because it’s like this huge group of people who claim to be star wars fans, but all you ever see them talk about is one relationship between two characters in a single movie. And I would be willing to bet a lot of money that a large number of reylos didn’t consider themselves sw fans before TFA came out. Which, by itself, is not a problem! There’s nothing wrong with being a new star wars fan! That was a great thing that came from TFA, it revitalized the sw fandom and brought a lot of new, younger people into the fold and kickstarted a lot of people’s love for star wars! That’s awesome! But what isn’t cool is these people who are actively attempting to hijack an entire fandom, and a fandom culture which is FORTY YEARS OLD, and make the entire thing about a crappy ship between two characters who have only appeared in one movie in a vast fictional universe. It’s honestly so disrespectful to people who genuinely LOVE Star Wars and have loved it their entire life, who have swung around lightsabers since childhood and seen Leia as a role model and wanted to fly x-wings and gotten emotional over the droids. THAT’S the sort of thing Star Wars is about. There are so many iconic characters and elements of the Star Wars universe that reylos totally sideline constantly and don’t seem to care about whatsoever. It’s ridiculous that Star Wars has a rich fandom history spanning forty years, and that one group of obnoxious people with nasty kinks go all emo for a ridiculous pairing after seeing one movie and then decide that everything in the sw universe is related to them.

The Star Wars universe and sw fandom is so much bigger than reylo. Reylo is just a tiny speck of a bad ship in a vast universe of Star Wars content. And yet the discussions on tumblr and the tags for characters and upcoming movies are all overflowing with a ridiculously high amount of reylo content compared to anything else. It’s so annoying and frustrating that anyone in any part of the Star Wars fandom inevitably has to come across a boatload of reylo content on a daily basis. And newsflash: people who ACTUALLY love Star Wars care about more than just a single pairing between two characters who are NEVER going to canonically get together.

so @reylos, your fake is showing.

No but guys, Parent’s Trap AU with twins Enjolras and Cosette.

Filled under “fics I will never write” BUT I am so inspired by this (and plot twist : it has Valvert, Mariusette, Enjoltaire, Courferre, and Montponine) (don’t underestimate my capacity to include my ships in everything I writte.)

So get this:

  • Valjean and Javert are in love and they adopte adorable blonde baby twins and call them Enjolras and Cosette.
  • But the plot being the plot, they break up. Valjean keeps Cosette and Javert keeps Enjolras. (And yes this is the weirdest arrangement ever but blame the movie not me).
  • And so we have on one hand Cosette and Valjean having pretty much the same relationship they have in the book, sweet and caring, but with a slightly overprotective Valjean. On the other hand we have Javert and Enjolras who deeply love each others, but have trouble communicating and therefore don’t get along that well. With Enjolras being his revolutionary self and Javert being … well … himself.
  • And this could have been their life IF VALJEAN AND JAVERT DIDN’T SEND THEIR KIDS TO THE SAME BLOODY VACATION CAMP.
  • Okay can we take a moment to imagine fucking Cosette and fucking Enjolras AT WAR AGAINST EACH OTHER ??? They are the most determined and savage characters from the book like can you imagine the bloodbath ???
  • And to make it clear, Cosette is the one trapping Enjolras’ room like they do in the movie. Yes Cosette can be evil as fuck.
  • And then obviously they discover the truth because they both have half of a super cheesy 80′s wending picture with Valjean and Javert (just imagine) and they decide to switch places.
  • Okay so for this to work I made some canon divergences BUT BEAR WITH ME GUYS I PROMISE IT WILL WORTH IT TRUST ME.
  • For exemple : at home, Enjolras obviously has Les Amis but Grantaire isn’t part of it. In fact, he doesn’t know Enjolras, because he lives near Cosette. Not Enjolras.
  • At home, Cosette has two best friends : Eponine and Grantaire. (Squad goal amarite ?)
  • At home, Enjolras has Les Amis, Marius, and in a way Montparnasse who shows up sometimes.
  • And therefore when they switch, Enjolras end up with Valjean, Eponine, and Grantaire. On the other side Cosette end up with Javert, Les Amis and Montparnasse.
  • Valjean is super glad to have his daughter back, but can help to notice that she is different. She seems more politics aware, more rebel, she questions more of his decisions (it’s not a bad thing though) … Eponine notices too. And so does Grantaire. Actually he might be … developing some feelings for her ???? Which is odd because Cosette is her best friend and he never felt anything else for her before.
  • And Enjolras is freaking out because this painter guy is really cute and seems to like him, but it’s obviously because he thinks he is Cosette and ANGST.
  • On the other side, Javert is surprised as well by his son. He is way more gentle, speaks to him more, ask him a lot of questions about him. Les Amis are also surprised to see that Enjolras talks a lot more about feminist and prison issues.
  • Also there is a subplot where Cosette notices that Courfeyrac and Combferre like each others and act as a match maker.
  • It works. They make out and everything is great.
  • And Marius is confused as fuck. Because he never considered himself attracted to guys, but since he is back Enjolras seems different more gentle and sweet. And Cosette freaks out as well because he obviously likes Enjolras and not her and damn this guy is cute and ANGST.
  • And one day Montparnasse shows up and immediately realize that it’s not Enjolras for plot reasons. But he promise Cosette he won’t tell.
  • On the other side, Eponine find out as well and make the same promise to Enjolras.
  • AND FINALLY THE TIME OF THE REUNION COMES
  • Also no “Meredith” in this fic because I always found her useless in the movie and I have enough subplots already. (If we really need some obstacle between Valjean and Javert, Javert’s pride will do).
  • Being the only ones who know the truth, Montparnasse and Eponine help the twins to organize the reunion and BAM MONTPONINE HAPPENS !
  • Montponine is love. Montponine is life.
  • No but seriously it will be like Martin and Jenny. They help to organize the whole reunion in a hotel, meet up and go like WELL HELLOOOOOO.
  • (Let me have my ship)
  • So Valvert reunion with every cheesy romcom cliche ever.
  • And yes it means that Enjolras, Cosette, Montparnase, Eponine and Les Amis organize them a big ass romantic dinner in a ship with fireworks.
  • JUST IMAGINE.
  • It also means that Javert threw a hairdryer at Valjean.
  • SUBPLOTS RESOLUTION : Grantaire finds out that Cosette is a guy and Enjolras freaks out thinking he is going to hate him but Grantaire is like “Are you kidding ? I love you even more as yourself ! I did not fall in love with Cosette ! I fell in love with you !”
  • And they make out and everything is great.
  • And Cosette goes to Marius like “I”m so sorry you thought I was Enjolras you must be so disapointed” and Marius is like “Are you kidding ??? You are so much better then Enjolras !! I love you”
  • And they make out and everything is great.
  • And also at the end you think that Valjean and Javert won’t get back together because Javert leaves with Enjolras again.
  • But !!!! Valjean and Cosette are wanting them home just like in the movie.
  • And Valjean says “I thought for one I should be the one chasing you”
  • And they make out and everything is great.
  • (And Cosette and Enjolras high five each other)
  • (The end)

It’s a conversation any books-first Harry Potter fan is all too familiar with: You’re talking about how wonderful Harry Potter is (because just because it’s nearly 2014 doesn’t mean you’re stopping that conversation any time soon), and your friend brings up that it doesn’t make any sense Harry wound up with Ginny Weasley of all people, because Ginny is the worst.

I’m sorry. This isn’t true at all! That’s just what Warner Brothers inexplicably wanted you to think because of the fact Ginny was in roughly 20 minutes of the entire franchise (time spent nearly dying in the Chamber of Secrets when she was 11 not included). Ginny is a really cool girl who becomes a really cool lady and –bonus! — through her J.K. Rowling taught teenage readers a lot of really valuable lessons about being yourself, owning your own accomplishments, and not waiting around for guys (well, at least not too much).

But while Book Ginny was a dynamic, feisty character, Film Ginny is a Manic Pixie Wallflower that could be literally anyone Daniel Radcliffe had zero chemistry with. Seriously, was it not possible for her to accio a personality from anyone in the general vicinity? Her entire role in the movies was to awkwardly kiss Harry once at the Burrow and once at Hogwarts, and then stare at him while he ran around actually doing things during the final battles.

There are plenty of Harry Potter book-to-film changes I’m still not over. (Who are the Marauders, you ask? Don’t ask anyone who only watched the movies!) But recently, what’s bugging me more and more is how little respect Ginny gets — and I think a lot of it is because of the films. It’s time someone stood up and defended her; She’s actually a really cool character — it’s just that none of her awesomeness translated onscreen.

Book Ginny would never. Let’s take a trip down memory lane…

Number One: Ginny from the book didn’t wait around for any man. When the boy of her dreams appeared disinterested (he had a few other things on his mind!) she didn’t get desperate. Instead, she got friendly with Dean, showing The Chosen One she had plenty of other things going on in her life. Next!

Number Two: While Harry is crushing on Cho in Order of the Phoenix, Ginny didn’t let her crush stand in the way of being useful and smart. She gave him support for Dumbledore’s Army, and helped fight at the Department of Mysteries, among other battles.

Number Three: While Harry, Ron and Hermione were off roaming a forest, Ginny was actually braving things out at Hogwarts — and it wasn’t all Yule Balls and Quidditch. In the books, Ginny and Neville are shown to be keeping the rebellion going at school (“Dumbledore’s Army, still recruiting“) – but only Neville’s heroism made the film. Ginny got to be a movie girlfriend, instead. -100 Points from the House of Movie Studios.

Number Four: This isn’t badass, per se, but I always thought it was really cool that right before Harry and Ginny finally kissed, Ginny was off winning a Quidditch game because her dumb crush was stuck in detention. Guys, am I right?

—  Entertainment Weekly’s Erin Strecker on why Book Ginny is cooler than Movie Ginny

Its 2 am and I’m watching High School Musical 2 (which was my favorite movie in middle school because it was the only DVD I really had so I watched it everyday).
People ship Chad/Ryan based on the whole I Don’t Dance part (tell me this isn’t some vaguely hidden innuendo, because Chad dances the most even before this dance sequence), but there is a whole lot more chyan than people seem to notice.

I had a conversation about Ryan with my friend and he said that people only think Ryan is gay based on stereotypes, but I do seriously think they hinted at it a lot, especially with his dad constantly straightening his hat (which always mysteriously goes back to not being straight right after).

The biggest chyan thing I’m thinking about is the fact that no one else has questioned why it is that both Troy AND Chad were chosen to be caddies. It’s made clear that Sharpay wants Troy (just to have him), so she is doing anything to spend time with just him, but why Chad.

At first I thought it would be because he’s Troy’s best friend and everyone would believe him the most if he said that Troy had changed and didn’t want to be associated with them. However all of the moments that Sharpay has orchestrated to “elevate” Troy above his friends occur when all the others are around. Chad really isn’t needed to be the extra push there.

This is why I think there is an underlying motive with having him be there. When Mr. Evans makes Troy join them in golf, both Ryan and Chad are left behind. I feel like this would set at least some basis for the two becoming closer based on the fact that they’re kind of pushed behind a lot.

Stuck in Translation

Hi guys! So, after my meta of this last episode, I got an anonymous ask about my take on Cas’ I love you, and I since I saw that some other people like @mijrake and @tinkdw had replied to my post and were wondering about this as well, I decided to look into it to see if my hunch was right.

As a recap, the question was -

That I love you - was it for Dean? Or was it a plural?

- and my initial assumption was, yeah, definitely a plural, and not for Dean (or not in any overly romantic sense, anyway).

First, I have to say - I understand why other people’s interpretations will differ from mine, and I agree that the camera work on this show is completely Destiel-friendly, but what I also think is that camera work is not what defines what’s going for most people - actions and words is how the audience understands a story, because that’s the instinctive, ‘natural’ way to make sense of real life as well. The vast majority of viewers (and I’m including myself here, because I only know the very basics of how movies are made) won’t know anything about silent storytelling, subtext, camera angles, framed ships on the walls and beer labels. Plus, they’re watching this show like they’re watching dozens of other shows - simply because it’s fun, or because it’s on, or because yeah, I’ve missed a couple of seasons but holy shit, this looks good so let’s give it another chance. They’re not going to read meta online and watch gifs in slow-motion until they can’t function and turn and toss in their beds wondering what Cas really meant, which is why subtextual-only building of gay relationships is dishonest and queerbaiting if it doesn’t follow through. This is, after all, the main reason why most people aren’t even aware that Destiel is a thing - because most of it is still in the subtext.

And coming to the language thing - I’m an interpreter and a translator, so I face this kind of situations every day. In interpreting, everything is generally way too fast to make informed decisions and educated guesses, so you simply do your best, but when translating I often agonize over what to say, especially when working on UK texts, because I know how understated people there can be, so I’ve normally got this text saying one thing but I know, I’m sure of it, that it actually means something else, and what the hell do I do with this now and just kill me

In this case - I’m sorry guys - from what I’ve seen most people don’t agree with me, but I’m not changing my mind. I would never translate Cas’ I love you as a singular. Never ever. It would be dishonest of me, and definitely an overinterpretation. A casual viewer wouldn’t even notice the camera pan to Dean, or would assume it’s normal in a platonic way - Dean’s the one Cas has the profound bond with, after all - he saved Dean from Hell, rebelled against Heaven because Dean asked him to, and is generally learning how to think and feel for himself from Dean. Most of the time when Cas is speaking we get a reaction shot from Dean, not Sam, but reaction shots in themselves are not enough to assume two characters are in love with each other and want to bang right, left and centre. And, well, I’m not a fansubber, but I like follow the work of the Italian fansubbing community and 99% of the time they do an outstanding job, so I’ve gone tinkering around on their websites and this is what they did -

Conoscervi…è stata la cosa più bella, per me. E tutte le cose…che abbiamo condiviso…mi hanno cambiato. Siete la mia famiglia. Vi voglio bene. A tutti voi.

- and, to me, it makes perfect sense. The verb to love in Italian - amare - is profoundly connected with romantic or sexual love, and it’d be beyond weird to use it with a family member. Voler bene is the expression we use for that, and is how Cas’ I love you - I love all of you is translated as.

Compare and contrast with Metatron’s taunts - He’s in love with…humanity - which was translated as È innamorato…dell’umanità: that was the right choice, because ‘in love’ is the unambiguous expression for romantic love, just like innamorarsi di qualcuno in Italian. In fact, all the most famous instances of I love you directed to family members were inevitably translated with voler bene.

Va tutto bene. Perche’ sei mio fratello. E ti voglio bene comunque. [5x11, Sam]

Lucifero…Tu sei mio fratello e ti voglio bene. [5x12, Gabriel]

In Italian, amare can be used with family members and friends but not as a direct ti amo - only in a kind of I love my friends way. This is recognized by the fansubbers, who do use the word when the context is more general:

Deludo le persone che amo. Ho deluso papa’ e adesso credo di aver deluso anche te. [2x22, Dean]

E quando cederai alla fine, e credimi, cederai, Sam…e tutti quelli che conosci e ami…potrebbero essere morti da tempo. Tutti eccetto me. [10x22, Cas]

Translating Cas’ I love you as Ti amo would have been incorrect, out of context and dishonest, especially since Cas just said all three Winchesters are like family to him.

So, look - what annoys me about stuff like that is that what we’re doing right now is the inevitable result. The whole point of inserting ambiguous scenes is to keep everybody happy and get people talking about what happened so we won’t lose interest in the show. Some people right now are elated because my God, Cas told Dean he loved him, while other people feel tricked and let down by the fact the scene wasn’t clear enough, and the thing is - there is no right or wrong answer because that’s how the scene was written in the first place - ambiguously. The words mean one thing, but the way they’re framed into the conversation means another. They could be directed at Dean, but Cas looks away from him, but we still get Dean’s reaction shot. And so on, and so forth. One could easily write a novel about how this scene was written, played and shot, and I’ve got no doubt we will do that, just as we wrote novels about all those other moments who meant everything and nothing, all at once.

Just for fun: here’s the work of the other fansubbers in romance languages.

[PLURAL]

Spanish: Conoceros…ha sido lo mejor de mi vida. Y las cosas…Las cosas  que hemos compartido juntos, me han cambiado. Sois mi familia. Os quiero. Os quiero a todos. [PLURAL]

So, please - there were a lot of significant things going on in this episode, and as a determined and obsessive and combative Cas girl, I was blown away by Cas acknowledging and accepting his place at the Winchesters’ side and formulating those human feelings that have been flickering on and off in his chest from the start, but personally, I’m also not going to kid myself here. This did not make Destiel canon: like many other choices they’ve made other the years, it made Destiel easier, believable, within reach and a natural conclusion to this story they’re telling - but for the moment, that relationship is still subtextual and it’s up to them to bloody get it out of the subtext, not up to us to drag it out - and that’s simply how the rules work.

NO WRITING DONE: however I’d like to make this clear. If you think Joker/Harley are goals either unfollow or jump into my IMs and I’ll tell you why you’re wrong. I am basing this off of their first interactions in both BTAS and batman the new adventures, harley quinn 2000, gotham city sirens… i really mean every interaction before n52. If you’ve only seen the movie remember they cut scenes of Leto backhanding her which was originally supposed to be there. Joker/Harley is still abusive 2k17. It always will be.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales Review (SPOILERS INCLUDED)

Yesterday I went to the cinema and watched the fifth movie of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean. As I heard the subtitle Dead Men Tell No Tales I was really exited - what a great title! And the trailer was awesome and I wanted to watch this movie so badly, I have waited ages for it to come out. So here is my review and again, this is just my opinion on the movie (before you start: I’m really sorry if there are any mistakes in this text, I’m just very tired and a mess :D).

The story itself was a good one. I liked the story line but I think it was a little bit too much sometimes. Just finding the trident to destroy Will’s the curse and getting rid of Salazar at the same time would be enough. But there was a lot more going on with the witch and the finding-my-fathers-legacy-thing with Carina and later the wedding was just a little bit too much. What I don’t get is why they involved the figurehead of the Silent Mary in the fight scene of Jack and Salazar - I mean fighting against “just” an undead Capitán is not easy at all. What I really liked is the flashback to young Jack and how he trapped Salazar and his crew in the Devil’s Triangle. In the end of the scene you could see how Jack become the new captain and his crew gives him tributes; They gave him some jewelry which he wears in his hair which was a pretty cool idea to tell how Jack got them. Salazar told Barbossa in the end of the scene why Jack’s surname is Sparrow which was another little detail I reeeaally liked. You get to know Jack better and I liked that a lot you have much more information.

The underwater scenes were a cool idea but it took me a bit to find out where the water is, so where the undead crew can be and where Carina, Jack and Henry could stand - that was a little bit confused. The destroying of the trident was very fast when you compare that scene to the On Stranger Tides scene with the hole chalice-thing, it was very rushed. But the underwater thing was really cool, the hole setting was awesome! I expected more magic, you could see some but not that much as in the last movie which made me a little bit sad.  I nearly cried in the end, as Barbossa jumped of the anchor and killed the human Salazar to safe his daughter and her friends, that made me really sad.

The reunion of Will and Elizabeth was very heart warming and as Jack said the last sentence, I felt very happy and nearly cried again: “Now, bring me that horizon!”

The jokes were funny, I laughed a lot. “Captain Salamander” is going to be a running gag in my clique, I see it coming :D. The donkey jokes were really cool too - the hole movie was funny, the characters were just hilarious, the jokes were well placed.

What I also don’t get is why they always change the title in the countries. I watched it in Germany so the title is Salazar’s Rache (engl. Salazar’s Revenge). Don’t get me wrong the revenge-title still sounds cool (because Salazar wants revenge) but you don’t really get the Dead-Men-Tell-No-Tales-Part: Salazar only keeps one member of a ships crew alive so he can tell the tale later - and this is the connection with the title, so why change it?

The camera angles were really good! One of my faves where Salazar was about to drown in the Devil’s Triangle and slowly turned around; then he was facing the audience and opened his eyes - brilliant!

The ship scenes were awesome, the camera went in the bird’s-eye view over the ships and later along the ships. The shots of Salazar and Jack fighting on top of the cannons were not bad either, it was really intense with and you could feel the rising action with it.

I was really disappointed that I didn’t heard the music that much because I was focused on the screen; I bloody love Hans Zimmer’s music and the Pirates of the Caribbean themes are one of his best, I can play He’s a pirate, Jack Sparrow, Davy Jones, Mermaids or Blackbeard all day long. But I couldn’t experience his music that much in this movie. I’m gonna look the music up later but in the cinema I barely had a connection to it. Of course, I recognized the most used songs which were placed perfectly but I think putting the music a little bit in the foreground would have made it even better. But what I’ve heard was awesome – great job Hans!

So then to the actors! I won’t gonna fangirl that much so you are not going to read a hole essay about every actor in the movie :D:

Johnny Depp: Captain Jack Sparrow. The pirate. Well played, mate, well played. He was just excellent as Captain Jack Sparrow as usual: funny, with good and bead ideas and his love is the sea (and the Black Pearl).

Geoffrey Rush: Captain Hector Barbossa. The legend. I could die for his “Jaaaaaaack!” it’s just the best. Barbossa is one of my fave characters/villains of all time, Geoffrey is just an amazing actor and I was really sad as Barbossa died - but he did it for his daughter. Heroes always get remembered but you know legends never die.

Brenton Thwaites: Henry Turner. The son. He was the one I was most exited about as a new character. Henry was a great character he kept the story line running and interacted really good with the other characters. Brenton, you did a great job, I liked Henry a lot!

Kaya Scodelario: Carina Smyth/Barbossa. The believer. Carina is always focused and believes in the book, her father gave her. In the end her faith was the solution of the problem and she also got to know who her father is. Kaya’s facial expressions were very good - her hole acting was good, I really liked the way she portrait Carina!

Javier Bardem: Captáin Armando Salazar. The villain. Bad, cruel and very well played. He was scary and interesting at the same time Javier did a very good job! He portrait him way different than other villains and that made it good; seeing someone playing a character likely Barbossa or Davy Jones wouldn’t be that interesting, right? And every good story need an old fashion villain – Salazar was a great one.

To summarize the hole movie I just wanted to say again that I really liked the movie, I can’t wait when the DVD is out and I can do a hole Pirates of the Caribbean movie night with my girls! There were parts I didn’t like and parts I loved but I think every movie has that and everyone likes and dislikes parts of movies ;). I would highly recommend you to watch this movie (especially in 3D - it was just the best!) it is really good: You laugh, you cry, you have a good time and it’s very exciting.

I’m not sure if I want another Pirates of the Caribbean movie or not; I can’t decide. One part of me screams “YEEEEEEES, OH MY GOD PLEASE DO ANOTHER ONE!!” and the other part is like “Nah, that’s a good ending, let it be.” As we walked out of the cinema my friend Tessa told me she was feeling the same about it; but a hole new series with Henry Turner would be awesome which I totally agree on. But as I said, I’m not sure and I’m not the one deciding if they gonna do another movie; If they make one, I’m gonna watch it, obviously :D!

I will always be a big fan of Pirates of the Caribbean, the movies are one of my faves. I just wanna say again, this is just my opinion on this movie so don’t be mad at me, aye?

Do you think Sumire is like Hinata? A lot of people are shipping her with Boruto now, and since you shipped Naruhina, will you also switch to BoruSumi (I guess that's the name?)?

Sumire is the Class Rep, right? She’s adorable! I guess I missed it when her name was mentioned o3o I think she’s a quiet, gentle girl like Hinata, which is nice to balance out Sarada and ChoCho.

To be clear, I didn’t ship Naruhina just because of Hinata’s crush. I shipped Naruhina because of the way both Naruto and Hinata built each other up in moments of weakness, and how they were honest in front of each other. How Naruto had Hinata’s back whenever she was facing her darkest moments and become her inspiration, and how Hinata would motivate Naruto to be his true self and to not waiver in his beliefs and Ninja way. Their interactions and relationship were what really captured my heart.

So even if Sumire develops a crush on Boruto, I can’t judge anything until I see how they interact off each other. Comedic relief isn’t enough, imo. It needs to be substantial, ya’ know? That was why I couldn’t ship Narusaku. Because Naruto’s crush on Sakura, by itself, didn’t sell me on it. Their interactions were basically comic relief or sibling-like squabbles/interaction. Their relationship is great, but they never really built each other up or inspired each other like I would expect a couple to do.

I also don’t ship anything unless I see it as being viable (because otherwise I would just die of sadness and disappointment). The only reason I indulge in some BoruSara shipping is because the movie, novel, and manga all hinted that there was this mutual crush between the two (whether they realized it or not). Plus the way Sarada and Boruto support and protect each other in times of need really tugged on my heartstrings. But, again, they’re both kids. So when I say I ship them, I’m also aware that age may or may not change their relationship.

So in short: Yes, I think Sumire is like Hinata (personality-wise). No, I’m not shipping them until I get some substantial moments between the two like Naruto and Hinata had with each other during crucial moments.

I made this illustration to improve Sakura Haruno design.. of course from my point of view XD and to announce some things… probably this gonna be a large post
Well a couple months ago I saw Naruto again since beginning and wow well before that I ship Sasusaku with all my heart… and now I dont know how to think about it.
Probably because now I have more empathy about Naruto´s feellings  to Sakura, how strong was, and how stupid was the “The Last” movie´s explanation just saying that only just was a competition between Naruto and Sasuke… Really after all what Naruto did for Sakura ?! I would accept any explanation about NaruHina but just think if Sakura had that connection with Naruto and saw all what he did for her then she automatically fall in love with him ? to me that was the logic used to explain NaruHina, I really respect the love that Hinata have to Naruto… but for me that sounds stupid :l
Well about Sasuke and Sakura … wow WELL I don´t ship them too much now because I dont like the development of their relationship like before…
I was gonna to participate in the Sasusaku festival with a comic and fanarts but for these reasons I cant … I cant feel a strong inspiration for this couple </3
Annnnd the saddest part to me is notice the awful development of Sakura in the manga, she could had a best story and be more powerful ( her hair design for Naruto shippuden fuuuuuck is really awful ;____; and the design of her parents =_____= I hate her parents with all my heart :v) In a way I love her because she was like me when I was a stupid teen but she grow up and became in a strong woman :3 but I hate when she punch Naruto for the stupidest reasons and her little participation than Naruto Sasuke and Kakashi
For all these reasons I only gonna draw NaruSakuSasu anddd probably Kakasaku and Saisaku since now XDDD or as I would have liked certain parts of the manga with my awful style :v in addition to my artwork (practices, studies, character design)
Thank you for read this testament XDD sorry for my awful english

Hello dear anon!

I´m only really into Spacedogs and Tristhad tbh so I´ll redirect you to

this helpful site that has all the rarepairs listed : )

Tristhad was one of the first pairings that I noticed when I joined Tumblr because of the annual Tristhad Week - it´s about Tristan and Galahad from King Arthur (2004)

I recommend you simply watch the movie to get a feel for the characters - it´s worth it for Hughs and Mads performance. I thought they were more endearing than the main cast :D They sometimes behaved like an old married couple!

Also Hugh is wearing a skirt and you can see his legs a lot unffff lord have mercy

I'm not proud of it, but I actually came out of Prometheus shipping Elizabeth/David so you can imagine my disappointment when I saw Alien: Covenant. ^^;

Hi!

Well you weren’t the only one… :) I read many Shavid fanfics after watching Prometheus, and they were very good and satisfying. Sure, their relationship in the movie wasn’t great, but it couldn’t stop me from shipping them. I still thought their scenes together were interesting. David was fascinated by her, and she was the only one who didn’t really treat him like crap. Also, they had chemistry. That helped.

I watched a few interviews with these two, and they were very adorable. Look at them awwww. :)

I can’t say I was happy with what they did to Shaw. I was very disappointed because I think she deserved better than that, but I knew where this was going from the first synopsis they released:

Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

I don’t know if it’s any consolation to you, but it’s clear from the first reports that they wanted to make a sequel about Shaw and David’s adventures at first, and The Crossing actually came from the first drafts for that movie, but they changed their minds at some point…

is it just me that wishes that trini's sexuality was more explicit or shown better? they only really implied she was a lesbian in the campfire scene, unless there was something else i missed? anyway trini x kim is the best ship in the universe, love your blog!

Thanks for the love!

And to what you said about Trini’s sexuality, it’s totally fine if you didn’t think it was as explicit as it could’ve been. It definitely wasn’t all out explicit because with the storyline, Trini’s character is still figuring out this side of herself so she’s not ready to say it explicitly. She even says she “never said any of this out loud before” and her sexuality is something she’s still trying to figure out because she’s still a young girl in high school and this storyline of her figuring out who she is most likely would’ve been explored more in sequels.

From what the director and Becky said about Trini’s coming out scene, the revelation wasn’t explicit because they wanted it to just be a subtle indication at one of Trini’s characteristics to make it more realistic.
