  • also the entire campfire song being abt how much everyone hates their parents and then percy standing up and being like “hi everyone, i love my mom”

  • grover telling percy he’s coming w him on his quest and percy immediately going into Angry Protective Mode and grover jumping in before he can say anything w/ “don’t get mad!”

  • “it’s charon with an “a” as in AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
  • creators of this musical, apparently: well we dont have time to focus on them facing cerberus so now he’s a dj for a sequined charon who rocks the entire theater
  • “i think this pit is tartarus” “(gasping) YOU MEAN LIKE………..THE FISH SAUCE
  • the toilet paper guns used for percy’s water powers being shot over the audience until the entire orchestra was completely covered in toilet paper
  • “well the gods aren’t always fair but we’re not total dicks”
  • jonathan raviv’s quick change from poseidon to chiron was really quick so he came out as chiron with his shirt unbuttoned in the deepest v saying “I GALLOPED HERE AS FAST AS I COULD” which was ridiculous and yet completely in character
  • percy and luke’s handshake! and luke telling percy what he thinks of the gods and going for the handshake and percy hesitantly doing it w him bc he agrees w/ the way luke feels before realizing that luke’s the lightning thief
  • luke has a dark reprise of “good kid” when he betrays percy and i !!!! SCREAMED!!!!
  • also the creators of this musical, apparently: well we cant have a poison scorpion on stage so how about luke just fuckin stabs percy in the back? hm?
  • the stage was a huge mess of confetti and toilet paper by the end which is truly the only way a percy jackson musical should end
  • please go see this if you have the chance it’s so funny and so good, it’s really an amazing adaption that gets the tone of the book so well and every actor captures their character(s) perfectly, they all clearly know the material and seem like they’re having so much fun onstage, i loved it so much!!!!
on the new Iron Fist series

So after binge watching a ton of Marvel’s new Iron Fist series, I went onto tumblr, wondering what the fandom was up to now, what with all these new gifs and stuff to make. ‘Maybe I would find some fan art or something’ I thought innocently to myself,

BUT BOY WAS I WRONG

instead, I was greeted with SO MUCH DISCOURSE on how Iron Fist ‘needs a chinese-american actor’ or ‘has terrible dialogue and is slow’.

the best part is when I found out that some of y’all are trying to get this show boycotted like ‘????’

Now as a Chinese-speaking Asian female, living in Asia, with an Asian background and a good know-how of Chinese history, as well as a decent knowledge of comic books, (although I confess I got into the animated series first) I’m here to end the discussion before y’all get your full rage on and start fighting fans of the show like it’s Lord of the Flies up in here

So keep reading if you want to be educated or if you just want to fight me before you know what you’re even talking about

“THE SHOW INSULTS CHINESE CULTURE”

Uhhhh…no? I’ve seen a few episodes and I mean so far there isn’t really anything that screams ‘insult’ or even offensive in the slightest. Besides maybe the fact that they take the beliefs and twist them a little bit but honestly even that ain’t that bad as to what I’ve seen elsewhere.

I’ve read the boycott post and let me say that yea, they dressed him with an eye for Asian elements, but maybe that’s because it’s supposed to be resembling Asian clothing? I mean how is that offensive? Is it the part that it looks Asian? Or that you simply feel that white people that direct these shows should not be using Asian stuff for entertainment? Because I hate to break it to you but it’s still not offensive. Even the dragon tattoo is totally fine because it’s supposed to resemble Asian elements yea but also have y’all read the comics? Because he punched through a dragon and basically took it’s heart. So I mean a dragon tattoo kinda matches the theme.

I mean in the first episode they speak almost flawless Chinese for Pete’s sake! Hell, I was surprised that they even had it in them to have a non-Google translated line. Sure the accent was a little overdoing it cuz not even I have that thick a Chinese accent but I’ll excuse it since he was apparently learning and speaking 15 years. (I speak it maybe a few times a day for like the last 14 years or so only)

So no, the show doesn’t really insult Chinese culture, sure they might be ignorant, but you must understand that after generations of stereotypes and misconceptions that that can’t just go away with one show

“Danny Rand should be played by an Asian guy/be a Chinese-American”

I can’t even begin to tell you my frustration about this.

Y’all do know this show is based on the comics right?

You know, the one with the white guy.

I know Marvel is infamous for not including enough representation in their shows but seriously? This is like the Harry Potter thing all over again with Hermione being black, it’s not that we don’t want representation or anything, but it’s the fact that this hero that us comic fans have come to already love has been replaced. Or at least it feels like it. Like when a movie is made from a book and people go crazy because character XYZ suddenly has different traits or isn’t quite what was described as compared to the book.

Frankly, it sucks.

So even though yes, Marvel should have more Asians in their shows, don’t expect them to completely give the main character a makeover, even if the makeover was supposed to provide representation. And honestly? I don’t want them to change him because I really freaking love Iron Fist, just as he is.

“This show just villainizes Asians”

So you tell me that my race is being made villains because Marvel decided that most of their Asians on their shows are evil ninjas (aka the Hand) and at most there are like 3 sorta good Asians. Oh and I’m sorry, you want more Asian men that are good guys? You want a balance of Asian heroes?

Well I guess that would be kind of hard to fit into the story since, oh, I don’t know, everything happens in the USA?

If you want more Asian characters well then look no further because you do have them. Daisy Johnson from Agents of Shield? What about her extremely brave mom? Or maybe Colleen in Iron Fist? Everyone seems to be blatantly ignoring her badassery and only seeing the part where she’s a sorta love interest.

Facts are, there are Asian characters, you’re really just looking hard enough. I agree wholeheartedly when you say that more Asian men need to be in the Marvel universe that aren’t part of the bad guy team but you gotta say that they are still awesome.

Does anyone even remember the Japanese ninja yakuza guy from Daredevil? Dude got set on fire and STILL came back to kick ass. That’s a plus in my book because even though he’s considered bad, he’s been proven to be cunning, smart, and overall awesome.

“The show has terrible stunts/acting/dialogue/fight scenes”

From here on out it’s mostly just me trying to explain why the directors and writers of the show made decisions in the show to make it what it is, so let’s dive right into it.

  • STUNTS

Actually the stunts weren’t half-bad. If you’ve seen other shows or movies that are heavily reliant on stunts and action, and compare it to this show, they really aren’t that much different. Sure it might seem a little unbelievable sometimes like they’re breaking physics or something, but he already has a glowing fist. I think we’ve crossed the line of believable long ago.

  • ACTING

I have nothing to say about this except that go and take some acting or drama classes before coming and criticizing these awesome men and women who did indeed try their best

  • DIALOGUE

Now I get the dialogue might be a little weird at times and what not, but you must understand that this show was partially written with the Defenders series in mind. So almost everything that was said in the show is meant to lead to something more. Thus, you must take it as a bigger picture. Sorta like how everyone said that Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them wasn’t as good as they thought it would be, that movie was also meant to lead on to a bigger story so you might want to excuse the weird speech and cryptic lines at times.

  • FIGHT SCENES & ACTION

Okay seriously people, please read the comics. Danny Rand is supposed to be an accidental hero, one that doesn’t want to fight unless he really has zero choice in the matter. So yea, the fight scenes won’t be that interesting, but only because the character in question is more interested in ending the fight than anything.

~

So there you have it, my whole slightly angry info-dump on Iron Fist and Marvel’s representation problem in general. If you want to correct me or scold me even then by all means message me or shoot me an ask. But just keep in mind that Marvel can’t make all your problems go away in one show, and please for the love of all that is good read the comics before coming to rant okay?

You say you love me but when I really needed someone – you weren’t there. When everything fell apart and the world came crashing down around me, you weren’t there for me…
How can you love someone and at the same time care so little?
You say you love me but what good is it? When I laugh, you’re not there to laugh with me. When I’m lonely you’re not here to keep me company, when I’m happy you’re not the reason anymore; So tell me… what good is telling someone you love them if you’re not actually loving them? Love is not held within the word itself – it is in the act of loving. It’s not something that you SAY… it’s something that you DO… Love is a very deliberate action… a consequence of something beyond all control. It is not a description, an affectionate remark or a passphrase into someone’s good books and I take great offense when it is not used in its proper context.
So don’t say ‘I love you’ if you don’t really mean it.
If you truly love someone there should be no need to say it because it should be in everything you do and everything that you are…
So don’t say it ever again because I don’t want to hear it.
You say you love me… but I don’t believe you anymore.

sometimes i feel like it suddenly became ~cool~ in this fandom to like…not be super enthusiastic about sarah’s books? and to always use disclaimers like “well, it’s sarah so *rolls eyes* obviously the prose was terrible” or “idk like this is good for ya fantasy” or….idk, just stupid stuff like that. I feel like people are afraid of enthusiastically loving these books, because if you admit you love them too much then like shame on you for daring to enjoy something that doesn’t check all the tumblr boxes on what “unproblematic” media is.

and that so shit??? because this is fandom and so while we are always going to have criticisms, we should never be afraid to love this thing enthusiastically. LIKE IS THAT NOT WHY WE ARE ALL HERE?

and I feel myself doing it sometimes and it’s like wait…stop, no I actually really love these books, and there isn’t really a “but” in there. there’s room to criticize but there shouldn’t ever be any room to feel ashamed of really loving something, despite or even because of its flaws.

so for the fucking record, let me state that I ADORE THESE BOOKS MORE THAN ANY OTHER BOOKS AND SARAH COULD HONESTLY PROBABLY WRITE ANYTHING AND I WOULD LOVE IT.

and i refuse to adjust my enjoyment of something simply because this hellscape of a website wants to tell me that i am a bad person/uncritical reader for enjoying it as much as i do.

I am tired of being ashamed of my body. I feel like my arms are as thick as tree trunks, and when I look at my stomach, I see unwanted rolling hills. I am so exhausted, constantly pinching and pulling at my body. Fat shouldn’t be the characterizing factor of a human being. Kindness should be. I want to be someone with a good heart. Intelligence should be. I want to inspire people with my thirst for knowledge. Love should be. Because what is life without love? Nothing. So if I am fat but I’m kind, intelligent, and loving, is that really so bad? There is so much more to humans than their physicality. Remember that being a good person is so much more important than forcing your body to conform to societal standards.

Beauty is internal. And you are so beautiful.

—  Excerpt from a book I’ll never write
And on the one day I needed you, really needed you, you aren’t there. After days of complete torture and hurt, I expect to see you standing at my door, ready to make it better like you always do. But you weren’t. The blame can’t entirely be on you, though. I can’t say that. I surely had a lot more faith in you than I should have. So I will close the door and walk away, maybe we will meet again another day.
—  you weren’t there

jayemacca-blog  asked:

Hi Cassie, I love your books. My question is, if death breaks a parabatai bond, then how come Jace and Alec's didn't break when Jace briefly died even though his protection spell was broken? Thank you.

Parabatai magic is among the most complicated and deeply angelic magic Shadowhunters ever do. It’s not meant to be taken lightly or to be able to be removed, and so it’s double-locked so to speak – there is a rune that binds you, and a parabatai spell.

Dying will break the spell, though we don’t know how long it takes. We’ve really only seen it happen to someone once. Should you then be brought back to life, which doesn’t happen all that often, you will still be bound by the rune. Jace died pretty briefly, and it may simply not have been enough time for the bond to break. Alec says he felt pain, and wrongness, but he didn’t lose his rune or feel the bond break, which would argue that Jace wasn’t dead long enough for that to happen.

Protection spells are weaker – they have no rune to hold them in place. More on parabatai runes shortly.

When they don’t, you move the book from the table onto your lap in the hopes that this new angle will help you absorb what you’re reading. After you catch yourself skimming over the same paragraph for what is now the third time in a row, you slam the textbook closed in frustration.

Midterms are upon you and what you should be doing is studying for the exams you have this week. Unfortunately for you, your brain is not in compliance with this plan. It wants nothing to do with the study guides, outlines, and index cards you’ve created. You had hoped that switching gears and reading straight from your textbook might work, but that attempt failed just as badly as the rest.

You lean forward and rest your forehead on the edge of the cool, wooden table as hopelessness and frustration overwhelm your senses. The last thing you should be doing right now is nothing, and yet, nothing is all you can bring yourself to do.

Let’s talk about The Hate U Give.

Folks, if you love YA you need to go out and buy this book ASAP. I’m really, really excited about it. I think that this book, written by Angie Thomas (who you should probably be following on Twitter, by the by), is about to become the new classic of YA lit. Here are just a few of the reasons why:

- It’s kinda longish (over 400 pages) but still a really quick read because you’ll be so invested, a sign Angie Thomas is really doing something right

- It’s going to become a movie starring Amandla Stenberg, the absolute treasure of a person who played Rue in the Hunger Games

- The subject matter is just really important. This is a book born from the Black Lives Matter movement, and it’s stunning. I don’t want to spoil the plot too much, but it’s about a girl named Starr who witnesses an act of police brutality and needs to come to terms with the complicated decision of speaking up.

Please go read this book. More importantly, please go buy this book, or if you can’t, borrow it from your local library - the more a title is taken out, the more the library system will buy. It’s important to show that we want books with diverse stories, and that we’ll put our money where our mouths are.

RFA asking MC out for Valentine’s Day

I’m late, I’m late, for a very important date. Whoops. @mysnnyla asked for some headcanons about RFA asking MC out for Valentine’s Day. Some of the actual asking is, er…loosely interpreted. I meant to have this out by Tuesday but, again, whoops.

I absolutely adored the Valentine’s Day DLC and everyone who can should go play it! These are completely separate from that, so no DLC spoilers. ^^

Requests are open.~

✦ZEN:

  • he’s been planning this for a while
  • been dropping hints like crazy for a while too
  • but the date is approaching fast and he still hasn’t mentioned Valentine’s Day explicitly?
  • like what are you waiting for here, dude, ask already
  • finally it comes around and you’re lowkey upset
    • “Guess I am spending Valentine’s Day alone again…”
  • then your doorbell rings who in the world is coming at 8 am
  • he’s there, dressed in a white suit with a drozen red roses
  • music playing
  • then he starts to serenade you
  • you practically squeal once he’s done, but you hide it well or…not so well
    • “I was about to be really mad. Hmph.”
    • “I know. You’re so cute when you’re flustered, I couldn’t help it.”

✦Yoosung:

  • okay this boy
  • it’s not Valentine’s Day
  • it’s Valentine’s week
  • he spoils you more than usual all week
  • doesn’t play LOLOL at all, he’s spending all his free time with you
  • you’re loving every second of it you just adore each other so much
  • the day before, he brings home flowers and sets up a little indoor picnic for the two of you, lit by candles
  • when you get there he’s acting super nervous
  • face gets really red
    • “MC will you celebrate Valentine’s Day with me tomorrow?”
  • you laugh, give him a kiss on the cheek how is he so cute
    • “Of course, silly. But isn’t that what we’ve been doing all week?”
  • he’s already got the whole thing planned out in his head ofc

✦Jaehee:

  • Valentine’s Day is a really big day for bakeries
  • you two are pretty busy the whole week leading up to it
  • but she is not about to miss spending the evening with you
  • a few weeks before, she had brought it up, surprising you
    • “MC, what do you think about closing early on Valentine’s Day and going out somewhere nice?”
    • “Really?? I mean I’d love that, of course!”
  • you took a bit to get over your surprise but you were super happy so was she
  • ends up confessing that she’d had the reservations for you two booked for months
  • like even the person who took the reservation teased her a bit
  • but you loved it
  • she hums under her breath all day Valentine’s Day bc she is so happy to be going on an actual date with you that night

✦Jumin:

  • tbh he doesn’t even ask
  • why should he?
  • of course you’re spending Valentine’s Day with him and Elizabeth the 3rd
  • bc isn’t that what couples do? he’s pretty sure anyway
  • but until the day of he doesn’t really mention it
  • he assumes you know he hasn’t forgotten so there’s no reason to mention it
  • finally you end up asking him
    • “Jumin, do you know what day it is tomorrow?”
    • “Yes, it’s Tuesday. Why?” he’s either an idiot or a jerk at this point, no in between
  • you go to bed a little frustrated tbh
  • but when you wake up, it’s to the smell of breakfast in bed
  • then you look around and there’s flowers everywhere
  • it takes a minute for your brain to catch up
  • he kisses your forehead
    • “Strawberry pancakes, my love. Just like that first morning.”
    • “You’re quite cute when you’re confused. You should eat and put on the outfit I’ve bought you. We have quite a full day planned.”

✦Saeyoung:

  • as Valentine’s Day approaches, the gifts start rolling in
  • all of them made by him
  • (and all of them doubling as weapons)
  • (just in case)
  • on Valentine’s Day he installs an app on your phone when you look away
  • that takes over your screen every few hours with bad pickup lines and Valentine’s Day memes
    • “Is your name google? Because you have everything I’m searching for.”
    • “You remind me of my pinky toe. You’re small and cute and I’m probably going to bang you against the coffee table later tonight.”
    • “Baby you turn my floppy disk into a hard drive.”
  • and since you’re together he’s right there every time it happens and he loves you laughing at his dumb jokes you always did just get him
  • around dinnertime, the app takes over again and you notice him start to kind of blush from the corner of your eye
    • “My hair is red, cats make Zen sneeze, my Six Oh Six, stay the night with me please?”
  • when you say yes, he takes you out to a picnic he had set up out under the stars okay the ‘picnic’ is honey buddha chips and doctor pepper but it’s the thought that counts
The first time they say they love you...

Summary: A little headcanon on how would be the first time these HP characters say they love you, the reader.

Remus Lupin

These three little words had more meaning to Remus than any other word had, to him, they held so much power and emotion he couldn’t just say them to anyone at any time. He had to think it through, was it really worth it put someone’s life in danger, your life in danger, just because his heart was completely drawn to you? He had to be certain that he could protect you and that you would be safer by his side than by yourself, that you were really indeed happier when he was present. He had to be sure you weren’t just infatuated with each other, and yes, truly, in love. And it was on this particular day that he was sure. You were inside Honeydukes in complete awe with all the sweets available, hands full of Chocolate Frogs and pixie puffs, you looked at all sides trying to find sweets enough to take some back to your friends and Remus couldn’t help the feeling he had looking at you, so he simply smiled and said “I love you”. Sure you dropped all the chocolate on the floor and breathed a shaky “W-what?” at your boyfriend’s sudden realisation, but he said it again with all the conviction in the world, receiving an ecstatic kiss and a very sweet “I love you too, Moony.” just right back.

Sirius Black

Sirius was the opposite, the words never meant much to him. They held no power to him, in his logic to prove love was to show love. His way to say “I love you” was by saying “take care of yourself” and “be safe”, it was waking up during the night just to see if you weren’t having any nightmares and it was making you your favourite tea and read you a book when you where indeed having them. It was giving you his jumper whenever you forgot yours and spend the entire day in the library with you even if he disliked being there. But when Sirius realised that those words meant something to you, he would hold your face and say “I’m sorry I don’t say this as much as I should but I do love you, sweetheart, I really do, so much.” and would press his lips on yours passionately, surprised because differently from the other times he had spoken those little words, they this time, held more meaning than they had ever done, and ever since that day he would say it often to remind you that he truly, utterly, completely loved you.

James Potter

James, for a long time, thought those words were silly. He had convinced everyone and even himself that he didn’t believe in that magical cheesy love he easily found on muggle’s romances. It was when he met you that he started changing his mind, it was when you rejected him so many times before accepting to go out with him that he understood that it was possible to hurt from love. It was only when you pressed your silky soft lips on his that he understood what the ‘butterflies’ were and he felt stupid for not believing his friends when they said all that unbelief towards love would backfire. But it was when you were taking a stroll around the Hogwarts’ lake during the winter that he felt the necessity to say those words, it was when you looked at the sky in utter happiness as you felt the first freezing snowflakes falling on your face, frosting your cheeks, it was when you smiled at the sight of snow that you grabbed James’ hands and twirled like a small child during Christmas, it was when you whispered “Snow!” like it was pure magic that he let those words escape his lips, and they escaped so easily, so smoothly that the smile on your face convinced him that love was the best thing in the world.

Teddy Lupin

To Teddy it was relative, he never felt like saying it, it didn’t really matter to him. Even when you started dating, he said it every once in a while that he was in love with you, but never that he loved you. After all, they had a difference and it saddened you a little bit that he would never say it, maybe he wasn’t sure you were the one for him, maybe he was just infatuated? Maybe he didn’t love you? You were a bit let down to be in all honesties, you had been dating for almost two years and he had never said it, not even once, but perhaps that was just his way of being. So you thought that it wasn’t worth confronting him about it, you’d just try to let it go. But on this specific Friday during Summer, you were spending a week with the Potters, and Teddy asked you to dye his hair bubblegum pink. And you agreed, you spread the dye through every soft lock as he sat on a chair in front of a mirror, you noticed he was staring at you through it. You were quietly doing your job, humming one of the lullabies you used to sing for your little siblings, focusing on his hair but the staring wouldn’t stop and when you met his eyes he was trying to hold a smirk. “What are you staring at, Lupin?” you asked raising an eyebrow, “You, (Y/L/N)” he replied, not holding back his infamous smirks. “And why’s that?” “Because you’re stunning and I love you.” He said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “You do?” You heart had nearly stopped, he had said it, he had freaking said it for Merlin’s sake. “I do, (Y/N), very much.” He said smiling at you. “Well, I-I love you too, Teddy.”

James had a little taste for some of the muggle stuff, his grandfather Arthur Weasley had taught him all he knew about them and even allowed him to borrow his muggle car. One day during summer, when James was talking to you on the phone, you mentioned you had had a fight with your family about some specific grades, that you were really upset and he immediately told you to get ready because he was going to pick you up for a ride, it would make you feel better. He asked his granddad if he could lend him his car to rescue you and soon drove to your house, where you waited sitting on the doorstep, cleaning some of your tears and smiling at the sight of him. You entered the car and he immediately hugged you, you stayed like that for a minute or so, just being close to each other and enjoying the feeling of being in each other arms. “Thank you, James, for taking me away from here.” He kissed your forehead, shaking his head and telling you to put the seat belt on as he started driving. After what felt like ten minutes on the road you opened the window and looked out on it, the comfortable wind refreshing your soul and drying all your tears, your hair flowing backwards as you smiled in contentment. You felt pure bliss, and so did he. James almost couldn’t believe himself on how alluring, sweet and kind you were and how you deserved to be with someone who would love you entirely and make you happy. And in that moment, he knew he wanted to be that person. And as you opened all the windows so the wind would flow through the entire car and you laid your head on his shoulder, he whispered only for you to hear, even though no one was around, “I love you, (Y/N)”. You lifted your head in ecstasy, smiling big, kissing his cheek slowly, “I love you too, Potter.”

Albus Severus Potter

Now Albus would let it slip during a heated fight, he would be so pissed, so furious that all his shy, conserved demeanor would just vanish right away in front of your eyes, he was your best friend and he was exhausted of seeing you giving your all to people who didn’t care for you and ended up tearing your heart apart. He would be so angry at the thought of your heart breaking again in careless hands when he could take such good care of you he would just let it slip, “You just give yourself away to assholes with infinitely lower IQs than yours and end up completely shattered, you don’t deserve this and you hate this feeling yet you always go back to it.” He shouted, “I hate seeing you like this, it’s the absolute worst feeling in the world and it hurts me even more that you keep putting yourself in harmful relationships when you could be with someone who would treat you well and look after you, someone who would love you more than anything in this world and make you happy.” And by that time, tears would be already escaping your eyes, trying senselessly to dry them with the sleeves of your jumper. “Yeah, like who? Who would love me?” You’d scream back. “Me, (Y/N)! I would, I do, so please just stop doing this to yourself and let me love you.” He’d say quietly, his shyness getting the best of him once again, anger long gone by now. And you’d jump in his arms, hiding your face on his chest as tears could not be held any longer. For the first time, you felt like things would be okay and love would finally be kind to you.

Scorpius Malfoy

You went on a Quidditch game, your house against Slytherin, you didn’t have anything against them, specially since you were dating one, but after that one Slytherin asshole hid all your belongings around the school, ridiculed your house and your friends it became all personal, and you wanted nothing more than your house to crush him and his team. Scorpius was a caring and protective boyfriend, but when it came to Quidditch you guys had agreed you’d cheer for your respective houses and never, ever argue about it. And as you watched the game, booing that shithead and rooting for your house as loud as you could, Scorpius watched you silently from the other side of the field, he observed your clothes all colored in respect for your house and how you laughed and cheered as your house scored. You looked so radiant and so beautiful in that moment, sticking up for your house and yourself, he didn’t know what came into him but when he realised what he was doing he already was in your house’s side of the field in the grandstand and his arms were wrapped around your waist. “What are you doing here?” You asked kissing his cheek, ecstatic to see him but confused since you’d agreed when games like that happened you wouldn’t talk about it or go together, to avoid fights. “I came to root for my girl and her house, no shithead has the right to do this to the girl I love.” “Even if he’s from your house?” “Even if he’s from my house. He’ll be hearing from me afterwards.” He said throwing an annoyed look at the boy, who stared at both of you. You smiled, wrapping your arms around his neck and kissing him right there, your friends cheered for you and let loud “awww”s as he pressed his body against yours, deepening the kiss. “I love you too, Malfoy.”

Masterlist // Writing Schedule

hula-hoopist  asked:

(If you have the time) you should do a book rec list!!

$Definitely!! I’m just going to include the ones that I’ve read that have resonated with me personally, so please feel free to message me for specific recs (Scifi, romance, wlw, etc) and i’ll look into making a more refined list for you.  Reading is truly such a positive outlet, regardless of age, and I really hope there is something on here for everyone to love as much as I did.

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz.  Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When the two meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special friendship—the kind that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through this friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves and the kind of people they want to be.

This book is so important.  It follows two Mexican-America boys, through the 80s in Texas, and at the very heart of all of it, is a love so pure and intense, it made me genuinely choke up with how intimate it was. (Try not to fall in love with Dante, I dare you, you will fail, just as hard as Ari)

Girl Mans Up  by M-E Gerard. All Pen wants is to be the kind of girl she’s always been. So why does everyone have a problem with it? They think the way she looks and acts means she’s trying to be a boy—that she should quit trying to be something she’s not. If she dresses like a girl, and does what her folks want, it will show respect. If she takes orders and does what her friend Colby wants, it will show her loyalty. But respect and loyalty, Pen discovers, are empty words. Old-world parents, disintegrating friendships, and strong feelings for other girls drive Pen to see the truth—that in order to be who she truly wants to be, she’ll have to man up.

Girl Mans Up is such a great book about gender identity for queer girls.  Pen is amazing narrator, and having it in the first person perspective is perfect for seeing just how frustrating it is to be a girl that doesn’t fit the gender role she’s expected to. (She also has a girlfriend who she stays with in the entire book and they have a wonderful relationship, no one dies 10/10)

Whatever: or how junior year became totally f$@ked by S.J. Goslee @pantstomatchJunior year is about to start. Here’s what Mike Tate knows:His friends are awesome and their crappy garage band is a great excuse to drink cheap beer. Rook Wallace is the devil. The Lemonheads rock. And his girlfriend Lisa is the coolest. Then Lisa breaks up with him, which makes Mike only a little sad, because they’ll stay friends and he never knew what to do with her boobs anyway. But when Mike finds out why Lisa dumped him, it blows his mind. And worse―he gets elected to homecoming court. With a standout voice, a hilariously honest view on sex and sexuality, and enough f-bombs to make your mom blush, S.J. Goslee’s debut YA novel Whatever. is a fresh, modern take on the coming-out story.

I’m honestly 100% certain there isn’t a summary that could do Whatever justice. I read this book because another librarian I work with suggested it to me, and I haven’t laughed out loud so much at a book since the Georgia Nicholson Diaries.  Mike is a bisexual teen who frequently doesn’t shower and hangs out with the most endearing group of straight boys you could possibly conjure up.  This book also has incredibly refreshing male/female friendships and the sweetest sibling relationship between Mike and his eccentric little sister, Rosie.

Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. Simon Snow is the worst Chosen One who’s ever been chosen. That’s what his roommate, Baz, says. And Baz might be evil and a vampire and a complete git, but he’s probably right.Half the time, Simon can’t even make his wand work, and the other half, he starts something on fire. His mentor’s avoiding him, his girlfriend broke up with him, and there’s a magic-eating monster running around, wearing Simon’s face. Baz would be having a field day with all this, if he were here–it’s their last year at the Watford School of Magicks, and Simon’s infuriating nemesis didn’t even bother to show up.

It’s Harry Potter but funnier and Harry and Draco end up together!! Actually, it’s Simon and Baz, but honestly it’s what all of our thirteen year old selves were starved for, like junkies of fanfiction.net, just looking for a fix.  I’m always a little hesitant of YA romance novels with vampires (For good reason, I think we’re all a little jaded still), but Baz is my Favorite Vampire™.  He’s funny and sarcastic and moody and just a little bit lonely, the poor thing.

The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater @maggie-stiefvaterEvery year, Blue Sargent stands next to her clairvoyant mother as the soon-to-be dead walk past. Blue never sees them–until this year, when a boy emerges from the dark and speaks to her.His name is Gansey, a rich student at Aglionby, the local private school. Blue has a policy of staying away from Aglionby boys. Known as Raven Boys, they can only mean trouble. But Blue is drawn to Gansey, in a way she can’t entirely explain. He is on a quest that has encompassed three other Raven Boys: Adam, the scholarship student who resents the privilege around him; Ronan, the fierce soul whose emotions range from anger to despair; and Noah, the taciturn watcher who notices many things but says very little. For as long as she can remember, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love to die. She doesn’t believe in true love, and never thought this would be a problem. But as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she’s not so sure anymore

This sort of sounds like a lovey dovey romance novel right? It’s not. There’s magic, and psychics, and dead Welsh Kings (this medieval lit major was shook), and the most fleshed out characters I’ve read in a series in about 8,000 years. I didn’t think I could fall in love with a group of spoiled prep school boys, and neither does the main character Blue, but here she is with her four husbands.

Timekeeper by Tara Sim. In an alternate Victorian world controlled by clock towers, a damaged clock can fracture time–and a destroyed one can stop it completely. It’s a truth that seventeen-year-old clock mechanic Danny Hart knows all too well; his father has been trapped in a Stopped town east of London for three years. Though Danny is a prodigy who can repair not only clockwork, but the very fabric of time, his fixation with staging a rescue is quickly becoming a concern to his superiors. And so they assign him to Enfield, a town where the tower seems to be forever plagued with problems. Danny’s new apprentice both annoys and intrigues him, and though the boy is eager to work, he maintains a secretive distance. Danny soon discovers why: he is the tower’s clock spirit, a mythical being that oversees Enfield’s time. Though the boys are drawn together by their loneliness, Danny knows falling in love with a clock spirit is forbidden, and means risking everything he’s fought to achieve.
But when a series of bombings at nearby towers threaten to Stop more cities, Danny must race to prevent Enfield from becoming the next target or he’ll not only lose his father, but the boy he loves, forever.

I didn’t think steampunk was my thing, but I see maybe I was wrong.  Or maybe I just really love this one particular steampunk book.  Danny is so full of moxie and sarcasm and nervous sweating and tea it’s easy to see why Colton falls for him.  This book also tends to tackle really heavy subjects without you realizing its done just that.

Dear Night Valeans,

This is a PSA because I think it would be so terrible for WTNV fans to miss out on this amazing YA book, Radio Silence by Alice Oseman. It’s a book about a girl who got involved in her favourite fictional podcast and the author made no secret that the main inspiration for it is based on Welcome to Night Vale (the MC even has a WTNV poster in her room!). The author even had a paragraph in her acknowledgement page dedicated to Welcome to Night Vale.

Now, you may think that this sounds like a rip off of the podcast, especially if you read the description of the podcast in the book. But the best thing about the book is that it’s definitely captures the spirit of WTNV while telling its own unique story that most people can relate to: being true to who you are, realizing that what people want for you may not be the best thing for you, and finding your own people who can accept you for who you really are.

Furthermore, the book and characters are incredible diverse and when I say diverse, I mean really diverse:

1) MC is a bisexual mixed-race British/Ethiopian girl, and she uses the actual word “bisexual” to describe herself instead of the more ambiguous “I just like whoever I like.” Trust me, so many books would rather have their characters say that rather than to use the actual word. Also, the author did not use any love triangle to as a plot device to prove her bisexuality. She says she’s bisexual, so that should be enough.

2) There are two other gay characters and their sexuality was accepted without judgment, although there are discussions on why it’s not easy to come out to everyone.

3) Two of the characters (including the MC) are mixed POC and they have a discussion on how they regret not being in touch with their heritage due to being born in UK. Also another character is Indian and she’s more in tune with her cultural heritage.

4) All the main characters are NOT straight. Seriously, when was the last time you’ve read a good, well-written non-heteronormative book? Other than Francesca Lia Block’s brilliant Love in the Time of Global Warming of course.

5) The main character is Frances and Aled. A boy and a girl. THEY DID NOT FALL IN LOVE (this is not a spoiler, there is zero will-they-won’t-they plot). In fact, after we finished the Meet Cute scene there is a special chapter in page 85 where Frances gives the reader a heads up that they WON’T fall in love with each other just because she’s a girl who met a boy. Also Aled declared that he’s platonically in love with Frances and Frances thanks him for saying the boy-girl equivalent of No Homo. THEY’RE SO CUTE GUYS.

6) The best and rarest thing: there is a genuine and honest discussion on asexuality. I repeat, there is a genuine and honest discussion on asexuality. Seriously, what other book does that, especially YA book?? There is a discussion on asexuality, demisexuality and also the burden of not knowing that your partner is asexual which will put strain in your relationship and this is why visibility and awareness is important people. It blows my mind that Oseman even went there and she deals with asexuality with kindness and sensitivity that the issue deserves.

You would think that all of this makes the book preachy and try-hard but it’s not, these facts are just part of the characters and not shoved in the readers’ faces and incorporated to show that the world and the people in it is so diverse and does not fall within the trappings of society’s binary expectations.

I always wondered if I should find other podcasts to listen to other than Welcome to Night Vale, but the fact is there is nothing quite like Night Vale, with its truly diverse, female-friendly characters and incredibly clever plots. Similarly, I have never read anything quite like Radio Silence, and I hope to see more of this kind of writing and I’m forever thankful for WTNV for inspiring a generation of new voices that will not not be limited by the trapping of heteronormative, cliched storytelling.

okay, so apparently there are some reports that are saying that jaal is bi, that book be damned. but

  1. the book is more likely to be accurate, isn’t it?
  2. the whole “who knows~~~~ i wouldn’t say he’s not interested~~~” stuff on twitter is bs and coy and unfair

like guess what bioware all this could have been avoided by you being open and transparent with your lgbt fans who have a right to know that they’re going to be treated respectfully in your game and given equal content.

then mlm wouldn’t have their hearts broken hours before launch, and wouldn’t have to spend money and time on something that’s treating them like shit. or if jaal IS bi, hey, letting us fucking know one way or another instead of trying to keep everything ~mysterious~ and ~hidden~ and ~something you should just experience on your own~~~ would have meant that this drama would never have been an issue in the first place

maybe just be open with your fans who love your games and treat them with more repsect idk????

A/N: mkay so I wrote this at like 2:30 this morning, which is usually when I’m most awake, but for some reason I was hella tired, and I was just trying to write as much as I could before I fell asleep, then when I woke up this morning and read thru it, I didn’t even remember writing half of it so here we go

Day had expired long ago; the moon was once again shinning its brightest and your mother couldn’t keep her mouth shut about Gaston.

After inviting him to stay for lunch, the two of them had exhausted every word in the English language, chatting about everything from weather, to Gaston’s time served as a military captain, to whether or not the hydrangeas in your mother’s flower beds would bloom late this year. You and Belle had sat together, looking on in awe as they talked away for two whole hours. At first you were nervous about how Belle might behave around him, but seeing how she never got a chance to say anything, it hadn’t been a problem.

Every now and then, taking the opportunity presented while your mother was yammering on, Gaston had glanced at you, tossing you a smirk or winking, or both at the same time, to which you couldn’t help but grin and blush.

The conversation didn’t reduce when it came time to eat either. You and Belle finished in silence while Gaston and your mother were barely able to touch their plates at all. Afterwards Gaston offered to help with clearing, but your mother brushed him off, insisting that she was sure that he had much more important things to attend to. Then, while Belle subtly distracted her for a few seconds, you’d grabbed Gaston and pulled him outside before your mother could initiate another discussion about knitting patterns or ancient family soup recipes.

Finally alone, you’d taken the moment to arrange plans for your next outing, then Gaston had left you with a kiss on your hand and a promise of a great hunting adventure later in the week.

When your father returned later that night, he revealed that he had met Gaston on the way home and spent a good amount of time speaking with him. Apparently it was a stimulating conversation, because he had plenty to contribute to your mother’s praises.

Well, you thought to yourself as your mother went on about how pleasant and welcoming she’d found Gaston’s voice, at least there won’t be any trouble obtaining their approval of him.

You caught yourself with a start. Your parents’ voices faded as you realized that you were now actually considering courting Gaston. It was no longer like those times in the past when the thought made you giggle or roll your eyes. It was real this time. It was actual consideration. You went to bed early, then continued to think about the situation as you lay under the covers, gazing out your window at the dark rooftops of the neighboring houses. The concept of being with Gaston was gaining popularity in your head.

It was easy to imagine waking up to the thought of him, not being able to breathe until he was by your side. Being able to take his hand and brush your lips against it whenever you liked, being able to stand on your toes to kiss his cheek or his nose, running your fingers through his dark hair, and looking into his stunning eyes as he laughed and pulled you closer.

You could imagine the sensation of his lips on yours with such ease that for a few brief moments you questioned whether or not you were imagining, or remembering.

These were the thoughts and ideas that took your stomach made your heart stutter.

You rolled into your back and sighed in frustration, realizing that you had become a living, breathing cliché. You might as well put a stupid wig on your head and join up with the Bimbettes, following the captain around everywhere he went with hearts in your eyes. Just like nearly every woman in town, you had become fascinated with the tall, dark and handsome Gaston.

You didn’t want to admit it, but it’d happened so sudden and unexpectedly that you’d had no chance to stop it.

You groaned out loud and reached over to the other side of your bed, snatching up a pillow, stuffing it over your face and shutting your eyes.

 “(Y/N)…for heaven’s sake, (Y/N), wake up.”

You cried out as someone smacked you on the leg with what felt like a book. Growling, you pried your eyes open and sat up abruptly.

Belle sat smiling on the edge of your bed, sure enough holding Romeo and Juliet in her hand.

“Unnecessary,” you grumbled, placing a pillow behind your back.

“Amusing,” Belle countered, scooting forward to place her knee on the bed. You narrowed your eyes and stuck your tongue out at her before nodding towards the copy on her lap. “You finished it?” you inquired, rubbing your hands across your tired face. Belle’s eyes filled with a fusion of joy and heartbreak. “Yes,” she drawled. You chuckled, your voice deep and heavy with sleep. “Bad ending?”

“Perfect ending! It’s so beautifully tragic -”

“Shhh!” you hushed quickly. “I might want to read it someday.”

Belle grinned and tucked the book closer to her side almost protectively. “You should. You’d like it.”

With a yawn you replied, “Pure romance. Not really my favorite genre.”

She quirked an eyebrow. “Just wait till the day you fall deeply in love. You won’t be able to get enough of it.”

You stuffed a pillow in her face, causing her to shriek.

“Careful!” she exclaimed, shoving the pillow away before raising her other hand, revealing a bundle of gorgeous wildflowers in her grasp. Your eyes widened. Belle rolled hers.

“These,” she said, handing the blossoms to you. “were on your doorstep this morning. I can only imagine who they’re from.”

You ignored her, noticing the red silk ribbon tied around the stems. You fought off a smile as a warm feeling sprouted in your stomach.

“He’s certainly doesn’t have any shortage of romanticism in him,” Belle admitted, leaning back on one arm as you inhaled the fresh perfume of the bouquet. “No he doesn’t,” you murmured, secretly enjoying the simple gesture more than you should’ve. Suffice it to say that with Gaston you were never bored.

“Well,” you said, stretching. “I guess I should get these in some water. You off to Pere Robert’s?” Belle nodded, sliding off the bed so that you could get up. “I hope he has some new arrivals this week. His shipments usually come so slowly. I’ll have to hurry though, the clouds look like they’re about to burst.”

You glanced out the window at the stormy looking sky, feeling a prick of excitement. You and Belle walked down the stairs together, then she bid you goodbye while you searched for a vase in which to put Gaston’s flowers. After locating one and filling it with water, you placed the flowers inside, returned to your room and set the jar on your bedside table. The sweet aroma was already beginning to fill the area.

Half an hour later you were dressed, hair tidied, bed made and ready for breakfast. It only occurred to you on your second visit to the kitchen that neither your mother nor father were anywhere to be seen as they usually were. You grabbed an apple from a bowl on the table, then made your way to the common area, only to find it empty as well. With a frown, you decided to search in the back of the house. where you were finally successful.

Your mother stood on the doorstep, looking on proudly as your father and Maurice hurried to attach a glossy new black iron gate to a matching fence that encircled the entire rear flower and vegetable beds. The old rusted barrier was lying in a heap of pealing brown bars a few feet from the house, and you immediately remembered about your father and Belle’s going to see Monsieur Barthelemy about a new fence the previous morning.

You stepped towards your mother and grasped her arm disbelievingly. “Mama, when you said that Papa wanted to replace the fence, I thought he was talking about something cheap until we could get something better.”

“That was what he thought too!” your mother sang, patting your hand. A few peals of thunder rumbled through the clouds, and the air thickened with humidity.

“Then what on earth is that?” you exclaimed, gesturing towards the masterfully sculpted posts embellished with decorative fleur de lis and painted a flawless black. “Something like that does not come cheap, especially if it’s coming from Monsieur Barthelemy. Mama, we can’t afford -”

You were interrupted by your father striding towards you with a look the greatest delight imaginable on his features. “(Y/N), darling!” he said, waving a hand at the finished perimeter. “Isn’t it wonderful? Barthelemy and his apprentices were up all night constructing it.”

“Yes, Papa, it’s wonderful. That’s the problem. How exactly do you intend to pay for all this?”

“It’s already been payed for,” Maurice voiced as he rose from his knees, wiping his hands on a wet rag. You frowned. “What?”

The first few drops of rain had begun to splash at your feet and dribble on your hair, prompting your mother to hurry everyone inside.

“Yes, every single piece,” your father finished, gazing fondly at the fence through the open door. “When Maurice and I arrived at Barthelemy’s this morning to arrange an order, it was finished. He said that an anonymous client had placed the order for his finest work yesterday evening. Even paid him extra to have it done by today and to keep quiet about it.”

Your eyes were now wide as they gazed at your father. You were about to speak when he held up his hand. He was smiling satisfactorily.

“I told you last night that I ran into Monsieur Gaston on the way home. I told him where I’d been and my purpose for my trip. He was the only one other than our blacksmith and Maurice and I who knew anything about the matter.” He gave a short chuckle then added, “And besides, Barthelemy confirmed it himself. Keeping his mouth shut never was one of that man’s talents.”

Your heart did a sort of somersault. Outside, the rain had begun to beat down with a vengeance, the ground vibrating with occasional cracks of thunder. You couldn’t say a word. You couldn’t even think straight.

Your father laughed at your expression, placing his hands on your shoulders. “I told you he was a good fellow, that Gaston!” he said merrily over the sound of the rain. He kissed your forehead before shuffling his way past you into the kitchen where your mother and Maurice were already talking about the downpour.

You stood in place for several moments, turning over your father’s words in your head. A muggy breeze blew through the door, spraying your face with raindrops.

“Oh, goodness,” your mother called towards you. “(Y/N) please close that door before we have a floor on our hands.”

However instead of obeying, you did the last thing any of the adults expected you to do.

You stepped over the threshold and sprinted out into the garden.

You heard your mother’s startled yelp from inside, but ignored it as you splashed barefoot through the patches of flowers, mud seeping between your toes and spattering the the skirt of your pale green dress. You carefully swung yourself over the new fence, then ran along the side of the house until you came to the front, unhesitatingly dashing out into the practically deserted street beyond.

Most of the vendors had already folded up their shops, but the occasional few who were still scrambling to pack up their wares gave you odd glances as you ran by, already soaked to the bone and looking as if you were late for some extremely important engagement in the rain.

You scanned the town square hastily, disregarding the bustling villagers fleeing towards shelter, for none of them matched the description of the one person you wanted to find. You adjusted your position to stand in the exact middle of the square, holding your hair back from your face and squinting through the rain, turning in a slow circle to survey each inch of the visible landscape. And that was when you spotted him.

He stood a few feet from the tavern, trying quickly to untangle his horse from the post to which it was tied, and not succeeding. His tan coat wasn’t as easy to spot as his flamboyantly red one, but you recognized him regardless from the span of his broad shoulders and his dark, wet hair.

You walked to stand closer to him, then called over the deluge, “One time when I was little, I was playing outside of the blacksmith’s shop and I accidentally kicked a pebble that knocked over one of Miss Marita’s flowerpots.”

Gaston wheeled at the sound of your voice, his hands abandoning their work with his horse’s reins. You seemed to have a knack for catching him at moments when he didn’t expect it. His lips were parted as he frowned at you, clearly wondering why in the world you hadn’t chosen somewhere a little drier to confront him. Nevertheless, you went on, taking slow steps towards him with every sentence.

“I begged Monsieur Barthelemy not to tell that I was the one who broke it, but he did anyway, and to this day it’s still the reason Miss Marita charges me extra for eggs.” You smiled, now within feet of each other. “Barthelemy’s never been good at keeping secrets, Gaston. Not even ones he’s payed to keep.”

A look of realization dawned on his face, “Ah,” he said with a guilty laugh. “Well then, remind me never to do business with him again.” He brought one hand up to swipe through his hair, keeping the soaked strands off his forehead. You shook your head, still smiling disbelievingly.

“That metalwork on that fence would be considered a masterpiece even by a city blacksmith,” you continued, moving closer. “It wasn’t like simply buying a gift for an old friend.”

Gaston shifted his shoulders and responded, “Wasn’t it?”

You looked him squarely in the eyes. “Gaston, that order must’ve cost more than Barthelemy earns in a year, without the extra it took for him to keep his mouth not-so-shut.”

The former captain licked his lips as droplets of rain streamed down his tanned face. In close quarters, you had to look up quite a bit to maintain eye contact, but that didn’t mean that you didn’t notice - or appreciate - the way the rain had turned his white shirt partially see-through and caused it to cling to his chest, displaying every sculpted muscle in his midsection. His brown pants too were leaving nothing to the imagination. The way the rain slid slowly down his neck and turned his hair curly was enough to give you butterflies.

“Trust me, (Y/N),” he said eventually, no longer needing to keep his voice raised with you standing so close. “The cost was nothing compared to the joy it brought me to provide such a needed gift to your father.”

Your eyebrows shot up, and before you knew it you were laughing.

“Are you even real?” you asked incredulously, hardly able to believe the words coming from his mouth. Gaston smiled, causing those infamous creases to form around his mouth and at the corners of his eyes. You couldn’t help thinking that in all the time you’d known him, he’d never looked so breathtakingly beautiful as he did now, drenched from head to foot in the warm spring rain.

“Real enough to touch,” he said, his voice emanating softly from his chest as he brought his hand up and brushed your dripping hair off your shoulder, lingering his touch on the side of your neck.

Your breath hitched in your throat, and almost in slow motion, you felt your own hand rising to cover his. Gaston’s eyes flickered with something indistinguishable, and he instantly took the moment to swipe his thumb across your cheek, leaving tingles behind on your skin.

After a few seconds he shuffled his feet forward slightly, and you had to tilt your chin even higher to look into those dark, hazel eyes that could almost certainly see straight into your mind. His right hand soon mimicked the position of his left, his fingertips sliding ever so slightly into your hair. In a reflexive kind of way, you brought both of your hands to settle around his forearms, the soft, moist fabric of his jacket beneath your palms.

The rain continued to fall in sheets, and despite his previous efforts, several strands of Gaston’s hair came loose from their manicured style and fell across his forehead. As he leaned even nearer, his eyes fell to your lips, and in that instant, you swore that your heart stopped and stood still inside your chest. His actions were slow and gentle, something that you never would’ve guessed from him.

But none of that mattered. The world silently washed away like the heavy June shower as Gaston dipped his head, his eyes fluttering shut before he grazed his lips over yours, barely enough to feel more than a whisper of his touch.

You’d never felt your heart soar so high. There was a fiery sensation spreading through every inch of your being, causing you to feel weightless but still real. Invincible but still vulnerable. And there was only one word you could think of to describe the feeling.

   Alive.

When Gaston pulled away, it was just for an instant, a mere few seconds to look at you and read your reaction. And in that precious moment he realized with a shock to his insides that he had never before in his life seen anything of such an otherworldly beauty then you standing there in front of him, eyes closed in pure bliss and water spilling down your cheeks.

Then his mouth was on yours again, but his time with more than just a simple touch. This time his lips moved against yours with an intensity fueled by pure passion. A passion which you readily returned.

You pushed yourself onto your toes, throwing your arms around his neck and pulling your body against his. Gaston kissed you even deeper, tilting his head to the side and grasping you by the waist, keeping your entire body as tightly against his as was possible. His actions were slow but electrifying.

He was savoring every instant, and so were you. It became clear that both of you had been waiting, even pining after this moment for far too long, even if one of you had been reluctant to admit it.

The taste of rain that mixed through the kiss, the feeling of his arms around you, desperate to keep you close, the obvious desire and love that coursed from your combined movements…

The sound of high-pitched wails echoing off the stone courtyard pulled you from ecstasy back into the world around you, and with difficulty you drew back from Gaston.

The three sisters, Claudette, Laurette and Paulette were standing under the awning of the cloth-merchant’s, huge crocodile tears pouring down their faces, cutting paths through the white powder on their faces and causing the black around their eyes to melt down onto their cheeks.

You bit your lip and leaned your head against Gaston’s shoulder with a quiet, “Oops…”

His laughter rumbled in his chest as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
