dark willow + seven devils by florence and the machine for @mylittleshipperhart

They can keep me out
‘Til I tear the walls
'Til I save your heart
And to take your soul
For what has been done
Cannot be undone
In the evil’s heart
In the evil’s soul

Now I can kill the woman you love. No, you can’t.

buffyverse meme: [2/10] characters | Anya Jenkins

“I guess I just realized how amazingly screwed up [humans] all are. I mean, really, really screwed up, in a monumental fashion. And they have no purpose that unites them so they just drift around, blundering through life until they die… which they… they know is coming, yet every single one of them is surprised when it happens to them. They’re incapable of thinking about what they want beyond the moment. They kill each other, which is clearly insane. And yet, here’s the thing – when it’s something that really matters, they fight. I mean, they’re lame morons for fighting, but they do. They never… never quit. So I guess I will keep fighting too.”

It’s poison. I can feel it.

hi there I just wanna say that I really fucking love buffy summers so so fucking much like she truly is a hero and amazingly strong and she’s complex and funny and is the heart of the show like she’s so caring and selfless but also flawed and brilliant and selfish when she needs to be for her own sake cause caring for herself is important and sometimes annoying but that’s okay and understandable and makes mistakes but that’s why she’s so great cause she’s not perfect when everyone expects her to be and she’s dealt with so much trauma and having to dig herself out of her grave and be strong for her sister after finding her mom dead on the couch and she’s battled through depression and is just… my role model I love her so much okay bye

a h!! that comic reminds me of an idea I had inspired by Buffy ,, like they get in a big fight and something big happens (let's say tom breaks himself out of the relationship and they kinda just shatter) , Edd PANICS and accidentally magically erases all memory of it from their minds. well eventually they find out, but they're not just mad they forgot, they're mad bc they don't know what was wrong in the first place so they cling accusations and it starts a new fight :3c

((there will be a part 2 to this))

buffy/willow/tara

buffyverse femslash week, day 3: threesomes/poly ships

buffy/willow: they encourage each other.
• the very first day they met, buffy introduced willow to her ‘life is short’ motto, which indirectly led to her saving her life and thus solidified their friendship.
• willow’s feelings after the vampire attack on the high school boys in prophecy girl is what led buffy to go against the master.
• willow is the only one able to shake buffy out of her catatonic state in weight of the world after dawn was taken.
• buffy continues supporting willow in order to help her overcome her addiction.
- they work together like earth and water - very different, but without one the other would not be the same.

willow/tara: they complete each other.
• tara is who introduced willow to actual magic and helped her become more proficient in it. she was also the one who made willow eventually realise she was a lesbian.
• her relationship with willow is what enabled tara to change and grow.
• even the first time they met, they displayed a very strong connection to each other, as evidenced by their very first spell in hush.
• it’s safe to say that they were each other’s very first true love, indeed. yes, willow had a relationship with oz prior to meeting tara, but it was very different. for both of them, no one else had ever mattered so much. the strength, maturity and happiness they had together was something absent from almost all other buffyverse canon ships.
- together they are like air and water - essential and nourishing. the air stimulates the water, determines its state. without air, water wouldn’t be what it is.

buffy/tara: they’re there for each other.
• buffy standing up against mr maclay in family due to his wish to take tara back despite her not wanting it is a very strong example.
• so is the way tara listens to buffy as she breaks down in front of her in dead things.
• tara continues to check in on buffy and how she’s feeling, like in older and far away.
• tara offers her support and sympathy for buffy after joyce’s death in the body, which is different from that given by the other scoobies given that tara, too, has lost her mother.
- their relationship is like that of earth and air - the air nourishes the earth and the earth would not be able to be what it is without the air.

I know you’re in pain. I can’t imagine the pain you’re in. And I know you’re about to do something apocalyptically evil and stupid.

You want to be the villain? This is what they do. They kill their friends, because nothing matters to them anymore, right?

You can’t do it. You can’t, because underneath all that cold, you’re still you.

You’re Willow.

I'm looking for new books to read, so Athena 💛

athena: what are your favorite classic novels?

Me when being asked about books:

OK HERE GOES. The Great Gatsby, first and always first tbh. The Picture of Dorian Gray, close second. I really love Dracula; it’s like the original Scooby gang from Buffy, performing blood transfusions and counseled by repressed British men in tweed. I always read The Scarlet Letter during autumn for some reason, it’s very seasonally aesthetic haha. Nathaniel Hawthorne in general. Rappaccini’s Daughter, dang. (Speaking of short stories: The Yellow Wallpaper. Dang! with a capital D and an exclamation point.) The Beautiful and Damned. Ok I’ll stop. Can you tell I like Halloween and the late 19th/early 20th century by this point because…

MTVS Epic Rewatch #168

BTVS 6x16 Hell’s Bells

(aka the Xander-and-Anya-were-having-it-way-too-easy-this-season-and-it-was-high-time-they-got-their-lives-ruined episode)

Stray thoughts

1)

WILLOW: Buffy, it’s hideous. Oh my god, Buffy. Look at its arms!
BUFFY: I know. But it’s my duty.

Why did Anya get them these awful dresses, though? That’s such a crappy cliché - the bride having awful bridesmaid dresses made because she’s the only one who can look beautiful at her wedding - and I hate that they had Anya do that. Also, notice that Buffy’s dress is slightly less awful, so I’m guessing Sarah pulled her weight to have it that way.

2) Yet another example of how people in Sunnydale are bound to believe anything in order to remain oblivious of the supernatural.

BUFFY: I just can’t believe everyone bought that story about Anya’s people being circus folk. Did you see the guy with the tentacles? What’s he supposed to be? Inky the Squid Boy?

3) Why did they want these people at their wedding, though?

WILLOW: And Xander’s family. I haven’t seen them that bad since my bat mitzvah. Ugh, did you see how much they drank?
BUFFY: Kinda. Mr. Harris threw up in my purse

4) Of course, following Anya’s declaration of how that day was the happiest day of her life, we see the going-ons at the Harris’s household… and this is what we get a glimpse of…

  • His uncle Rory half-naked suggesting Xander should use Velcro in his cuffs.
  • His uncle Rory trying to make himself an Irish coffee (in the morning…) and then pretending to get electrocuted.
  • Xander’s father giving him a hard time because he’s not ready yet
  • Xander’s mom guilt-tripping him about her not getting to be in the pictures (why did she think that?)
  • Krelvin recalling how Xander’s father had compared him to his mother-in-law and then proceeded to hit him and insult his heritage
  • Xander’s father making fun of Anya’s whole family
  • Xander’s cousin Carol asking him to get her date with “Kevin” while wearing Xander’s cufflinks as earrings.

I ask again, why did they want these people at their wedding? Except for Krelvin, he seemed like a cool dude.

So it’s been a while... it’s taken a while...

As I begin to write this, I wonder if there’s anyone there to hear it.

Those who watched and loved Homeland as I did will know that there are a substantial number of people who have a) left the fandom b) chosen to bask in the glory of Season Four or c) are still in mourning over the loss of Peter Quinn and don’t quite know where that leaves them when it comes to Homeland.
