I know Steve gets in a lot of dumb fights now, but what was the stupidest fight he got into pre-serum?
we grew up mostly during the prohibition, when alcohol was illegal. i mean, it was still pretty easy to get your hands on some, because people like alcohol, but most of it tasted awful, because it was home-brewed to be as strong as possible.
anyway, stevie and i got a bit of some really terrible hooch and squirreled ourselves away to get drunk. it took steve about four drinks to be totally wasted, and it turns out steve is a pretty entertaining drunk, with crazy fast mood swings and a tendency to want to touch things, just to see how they felt. he was wandering around the apartment trying to figure out if dark colors or light colors felt better, and he wanted to see if my hair–a nice dark color, versus his light blonde–felt nice. so i let him run his hand over the top of my head, and i was teasing him because he had all the fine motor control of a baby, so he’d made a mess of my hair. i think i said something like ‘my hair’s terrible now, stevie, and now nobodys gonna respect me’ and steve went ‘NO!! you have nice hair bucky your hair is GREAT it is SO GREAT.’ which was nice of him, because my hair really was a mess.
and then he punched me.
he punched me several times.
drunk steve is not much of a brawler so he didnt do much damage before i tipped him over and sat on him. it wasnt much of a fight. but if youre looking for stupid, attacking me to defend my own hair is probably one for the history books.
sometimes i miss wee steve, because big steve thinks my hair is ridiculous. i bet if tiny drunk steve were around, hed try and fight captain america to defend my hair’s honor. now that’d be a fight worth watching
Decided to do
some lip studies today. When I’m painting a portrait I always think “I
should practice lips more” and then proceed to forget about them until
the next time I’m half way through the next portrait. The first one
turned out a bit stiff, so we’ll just call it a warm up. The second two
turned out a really nice though. Maybe one of these days I’ll attempt a
smile with teeth. Maybe.
Also made some progress on my next
portrait (yes it’s another portrait of a mutual’s Inquisitor). As usual,
I had to tweak the skin tones I originally chose. I also changed the
dress color; I like the contrast of the dark purple with the light
green. For the face, I got the main colors laid in and started detailing
in the eyes, nose, and mouth. The refs I’m using are smaller files than
I typically choose, so that is a bit of a challenge for getting the
details of the shading right. Hopefully my past experience with
portraits will help me fill in the gaps.
I just remembered
that my Photoshop subscription is up at the end of this week, so I’m
going to try to finish this project by Thursday. Otherwise, it will have
to be put on hold until I can raise the funds to re-up my PS
subscription. I’ll probably try out Krita for painting, while I’m without Photoshop.
What about an AU where you see everything in black and white until you see your soulmate; then everything blossoms into a beautiful array of colors. However Gon's blind. You can have it in modern times or in the canon world if ya want. Love your art and writing, have a nice day/night! ~ 🍀
Okay! Wow this felt like it took forever!
But I super loved this idea and so it took me a long time to get everything right!!!
However it’s finally finished!
Thank you so so much for this request! (Soulmate AU’s are my aesthetic)
This turned out so much longer than I thought it would… Like REALLY long!!!! But it was worth it none the less <3
(I am not kidding when I say I took many liberties with Gon’s appearance. But he’s honestly so adorable and I loved drawing him like this! I may draw him like this even more in the future…)
my bearded dragon will NOT STOP scratching on the glass and glass surfing and I just have no clue what’s wrong??? He’s in the right size tank, his temperatures are perfect (I checked) he just pooped yesterday so he’s not constipated, his tank is clean, he’s been fed crickets today and has a salad, i’ve taken him out and let him roam around….and its not just today, he keeps scratching and bumping his nose everyday for WEEKS even though I do all of the above mentioned stuff for him EVERYDAY, and I cannot figure out whats wrong and why he’s stressed and its stressing me out
Couple of color palette challenges. @mizsdragons requested Deadly Nightshade in #7 and @adenicy requested eyes in #37.
I’m moderately happy with the deadly nightshade. The flower turned out nice, but the leaves are just ok. I’m going to blame getting used to the new program.
I’m really happy with the eyes. I was able to figure out how to customize the brushes a bit, so I didn’t have to struggle with those as much as I did with the first piece. The colors were fun. I especially liked using the bright orange for highlights.
It’s funny, because both palettes ended up being purples and oranges. Just different versions that create completely different looks. I’ll get to use #37 again for my next challenge, because @kejj requested it with mushrooms.
I’m still taking challenge requests. You can see all the palettes here. Send me one!
okay i know the designs aren’t the most appealing and the movie itself doesn’t look great but man can we talk about that color scheme because hOLY SHIT
AND LOOK AT ALL THOSE PASTELS
I’m so blown away with how the coloring on this thing looks, I’m pretty surprised it’s coming from dreamworks, as it’s usually Disney that turns out the really nice color schemes, while every other animation stuido seems set on obnoxious bright ass blue and orange (and yellow) overlaying uncreative neutrals
And don’t get me wrong, I get WHY this color pallet is so popular, its bright with a lot of contrast and grabs people’s attention, but my god, when this is the color pallet LITERALLY EVERY OTHER KIDS MOVIE HAS, it becomes too much and just looks like paint vomit. I’m so glad a mainstream non-disney movie is coming out that breaks this tired ass mold. Bare in mind that antagonistic color schemes are only one of many type of color scheme. This is something I also really like about Disney’s frozen
the cold bright blues are contrasted so nicely with warm oranges and deep purples, it almost looks like an oil painting at times.
…. Man, I told myself that this was just for my own reference and I wasn’t going to post it, but… it turned out so nice that I couldn’t resist. Anyways, I wasn’t happy with my first Warrior!Satine design, so I decided to give it a makeover, and I’m really proud of the result! It looks a lot fancier now (because honestly, Satine is nothing if not The Fanciest At All Times), and much more like something she would wear, but still functional as, well, battle armor. (Plus a bonus variant color scheme, because I wanted to see if I could get her to match Obi-wan and the 212th.)
Okay, but has anyone ever though about infusing their nail polish with spells?
-You could color code them by different effects, like luck or strengths.
-Easy for a closet/secret witch to do.
Honestly, I wear a lot of nail polish anyway, so no one really notices. I set them on my windowsill at night because I have a good angle at the moon. I also take them time to put my intent in them. I use commonly associated colors with them. And this is turning into text diarrhea so I’ll shut up.
Sadly, I can’t use crystals or other spell ingredients because my parents might find out, and they don’t like witchcraft, but this is nice for subtlety.
1987 Christie reroot and repaint is finished! She still doesn’t have a proper name, but I’m really happy with how she turned out (even if my “paint her like a Mod Stacey, only with side glance brown eyes” plan didn’t really…happen. At least that helped me keep the eyes from being late-80s large.) I apologize for all the years of never really liking this sculpt.
And the frogged-knit-cloth hair turned out wonderfully huge! I probably could have skipped more rooting holes and it still would have been nicely full–maybe in a future reroot…
Considering getting a Made To Move body for her, even though the skintone isn’t quite correct.
