i really like most of my teachers

So today I asked my students to tell me what their favorite English word was and most of them were super deep, choosing words like “dreams” and “love”. Then one of them says “Netflix” and immediately after another student says “Chill” with that devious smile on her face probably assuming I wouldn’t get it because I’m a teacher. And I just said “you do know I understand that reference, right??”. And everyone just burst out laughing and I can see my mentor, who’s like 60 years old, looking really confused at the back of the class which made it even funnier.

Here’s some of the most amazing and invaluable advice you’ll most-likely ever get from one of my good colleagues and legends in comics/gaming, creator JOE MADUREIRA. It’s what i’ve been preaching to you aspiring artists since i arrived on DA, but i think his POV says it perfectly:

*WARNING: SOME MATURE LANGUAGE*

“DO YOU REALLY WANT TO BE A SUCCESSFUL ARTIST?

Or a successful WORKING PROFESSIONAL?

Believe it or not there is a difference. I’m not usually a soapbox type guy, I don’t like instructing people, and I think I’m a terrible teacher. But hey, it’s Friday and I’m in a strange mood. So here goes:

I’ve noticed that a good number of my fans happen to be aspiring artists themselves. This is for all you guys. I get asked constantly: "Where should I go to school?” “What classes should I take?” “What should I study for anatomy?” “What pencils and paper do you use?” “Should I be working digitally now instead of traditionally?” “How do I fix my poses? Learn composition? Perspective?” “When am I going to develop my own style?” “Who were your influences?” “Teach me how to draw hands!” The list goes on…

External image

Here’s the deal. All of that stuff *is* important, and it may nudge you in the right direction. A lot of it you will discover for yourself. What works best for one person doesn’t work for another. That’s the beauty of art. It’s personal. It’s discovery. DON’T WORRY ABOUT ALL THAT CRAP!

Instead I’m going to answer the questions that you *SHOULD* be asking, but aren’t. These are things that have only recently occurred to me, after doing this for 20+ years. These things seem so obvious, but apparently they elude a lot of people, because I am surprised at how many ridiculously talented artists are ‘failing’ professionally. Or just unhappy. The beauty of what I’m about to tell you is that it doesn’t matter what field you’re in or what your art style is.

In no particular order:

1) DO WHAT YOU LOVE. If you are passionate about what you’re doing, it shows. If you’re having fun, it shows. If you’re bored, IT SHOWS. Some guys are able to work on stuff they have zero interest in, and still pull off great work, but I find that when I do this my motivation takes a huge hit. And Motivation is key. Money is not a great motivator. It’s temporary like everything else. And honestly, I’ve gotten paid the most money for some of the shittiest work I have ever done. That may sound awesome, but it’s not. And here’s why…

2) You MUST stay Excited and Motivated. Have you noticed that there are days you can’t draw a god damned thing? And some days you feel like you can draw anything? It’s 4am but you don’t notice because you are in the ZONE. Your hand is racing ahead of your mind and you can do no wrong?! Maybe it’s some new paper you got. Or a new program you’ve been wanting to try out. Or you just found some amazing shit on DeviantArt, or watched some movie that just makes you want to run straight to your board. This relates to the above because while it is possible to involve yourself in projects you aren’t excited about—maybe you need the cash, or think it will look good on your resume, whatever it is—it’s not going to last. You need to stay fresh. Expose yourself to new things. New techniques. You should be getting tired of your own shit on a fairly regular basis. Otherwise other people will.

3) Check your Ego. If you think you’re the shit, you’re already doomed. You may be really, really good at what you do, but there’s someone better. Sorry. There’s always plenty to learn, even for us old dogs. So when I meet young upstarts who have this sense of entitlement, or a know-it-all attitude, I just have to laugh. Some of the biggest egos I’ve ever witnessed were from people who have accomplished the least. Meanwhile, most guys who are supremely talented AND successful, and have EARNED the RIGHT to have an ego and throw their weight around, don’t. Why is that? It’s because…

4) RELATIONSHIPS ARE IMPORTANT. This may be one of the biggest lessons I’ve had to learn. Early on, I didn’t value my relationships with people. Creatively or otherwise. I felt like I didn’t need anyone’s help and I could figure everything out on my own. Let’s face it, many of us become artists because we are reclusive, social misfits. We’d rather stay inside and draw shit than go outside and play. We like to live inside our own minds. Why not?! It’s awesome in there! And sometimes we don’t want to let other people in. But like I said—you can’t do it alone. I can honestly say that as much as I try to stay current, as much as I try to push my work and draw kick ass shit that will excite people, I would not be where I am today if it weren’t for all the other people I’ve met and learned from along the way. Guys who pulled strings for me. Took risks on me. Believed I was the right guy for the job. You need to manage your relationships. You need to network, and meet people. Drawing comics is still a pretty good place for reclusive types—but if you want to work in big studios—Making games, Films, animation, basically any other type of job on the planet, you’d better start making some connections. Be likeable. Be professional. That doesn’t mean be an opportunistic ladder climber. Fake people lose in the end. Be yourself, but be professional. It’s no secret that when people are hiring, our first instinct is to bring in people we know. It’s human nature. I don’t like unknowns, even if their portfolio is awesome. If we have a mutual connection, if they have great things to say about you, you’re in. If you have AMAZING artwork to show, and I call your last employer and they tell me what a pain in the ass you are to work with, you’re done. Talent and skill only get you so far. I am literally amazed at how often I meet guys that are total assholes and think they are going to get anywhere.

5) Here’s the BIG ONE. The greatest obstacle you will ever have to overcome IS YOURSELF. And the Fear that you are creating in your own head. Stay positive. Stop defeating yourself. There are artists I know that are so damn good they make me pee my pants. I look up to these mofos. I study their shit and I want to draw like them. And they are almost NEVER working on their DREAM project. And—big surprise, they aren’t happy in their job. “Why NOT?! WTF is WRONG WITH YOU?!” is usually my reaction. And the answer is almost always “The market isn’t great right now” “Other stories/games/comics like mine don’t do very well” “The shit that’s hot right now is nothing like mine, It’s just going to fail.” “I’m not sure I’m good enough.” “I need the money.” “Too Risky.” “I tried it before and failed. ” It doesn’t matter what words they use, they are afraid for one reason or another. I know. I’ve been there.

But here’s the deal. YOU NEED TO TAKE RISKS. Guess what? YOU ARE MOST LIKELY GOING TO FAIL. If you want it—REALLY want it, that won’t stop you. You will learn A LOT. My good friend Tim constantly jokes about how I jump out of planes without a parachute and worry about the landing on the way down. You may think that I’m lucky, that it’s easy for me to say because I’m already successful, that I’m in a different situation than you all are. But it’s not true. Risk is risk, no matter what level you’re at. If you’re already successful, you just take even bigger risks. But they never go away. Everything in life is Risk vs. Reward. Not just in your career. LIFE. You’d better get used to it.

I didn’t know what the hell I was doing when I got into comics. I left the #1 selling book at the time ( Uncanny X-men ) to work on Battle Chasers during a time when 'Conan’ was about the only fantasy comic people knew. And no one was buying it. I wanted to work in games, so I started a game company. I had NO IDEA WTF I was doing. I just wanted it, really bad. We tanked. It failed. No big surprise. But the people I worked with got hired elsewhere and rehired me. I started ANOTHER game Company. We had 4 people and a dream, and some publishers wouldn’t even meet with us, because their 'next gen console’ teams had 90+ people on them. I literally got hung up on. “Stick to handheld games, it’s smaller, maybe you can handle that…” one MAJOR publisher told us. I don’t blame them. But we didn’t let it stop us. Thank god we didn’t listen to them. Vigil was born. Darksiders happened, AND we got to make a sequel. It stands shoulder to shoulder with the best games in the industry, and the most elite and experienced game dev studios in the world. How is that possible?!!! Hardly any of us had even worked on a console game before. I’ll be honest, I was thinking we would fail the whole time. I just didn’t care. If I had to play the odds on this one, I’d bet against us.

Why am I telling you all this shit? This is not me patting myself on the back. It’s just stuff that has somehow only dawned on me recently when it’s been staring me in the face for so long. I feel like I need to wake you guys up!!! I’ve been limiting myself. I’ve gotten afraid. I’ve taken less risks. I saw my career going places I didn’t want to go. I wasn’t happy and I wasn’t excited. And I’ve realized, that all that stuff I just talked about is the reason I am where I am today. Not because I have a manga style, or I draw cool hands, or there’s energy in my drawings, or all the other things people rattle off to me. There are other guys that do all that same shit, and do it better. And amazingly, those same guys constantly tell me “Man, I wish I could do what you are doing.” “SO DO IT!!!!!” PLEASE listen to me—because I want you guys to make it. I want to look to one of you people for inspiration some day when it’s 2am and I need to keep drawing. Stop worrying about all the other stuff—the pencils, the paper, the anatomy, all that shit. It will only get you so far. You’ve already got most of what you need. I hope this helps some people. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for all the support over the years. You are all one of the greatest motivating forces in my life and my career. Sappy but true. Ok, let’s go draw some shit!!!“

anonymous asked:

I need the story of the Underground Shakespearian Ring

Okay, so the school I went to for 9th grade had this really bizarre grading setup that I still don’t understand- for some reason, instead of the teachers writing up and grading tests and exams and the like, all the work was sent to an unknown third party for them to grade??? It made no sense.

Now, for the most part, the school had decent teachers, and they would just teach the curriculum correctly and then you wouldn’t run into problems with the grading. My English teacher was not one of those teachers.

So like, she hated me pretty early on- she was my homeroom teacher and thought it was disrespectful that I slept in homeroom in the mornings (I was on sleeping pills and they never wore off completely until around 10am), I never had the vocab homework in on time (someone kept breaking into my locker and stealing my vocab books I had to buy a new one like five times), she thought it was “inherently pessimistic and stuck up” when she caught me reading a book called ‘Ninth Grade Slays’ (it was about vampires, not her?), and during our Greek Mythology unit I kept correcting her about the name pronunciations of the gods (she pronounced Hephaestus as Hepatitis one time holy shit).

Anyway, her feelings on me aside, her teaching skills were shoddy at best. But I had had way worse teachers, so had the rest of the class, and Greek myths are pretty straight-up in what’s going on, so no one really had trouble with the third-party tests.

Then we get to the Romeo and Juliet unit.

Now, fun fact: Shakespeare has always come pretty easily to me. Like, to the point where I sometimes forget/fail to understand that other people have an incredibly hard time translating his works. (I told this whole story to my friends in the school I went to for 10th/11th/12th grade and when the drama department put on ‘Midsummers Night Dream’ one year, more than half the cast tried to get me to translate their scripts and monologues for them lmao).

So, anyway, I’m just a girl, reading Romeo and Juliet and digging how it’s going…and then the teacher starts ‘translating’ it.

Um.

I cannot sift through all the bullshit this woman was spewing, but let’s just say that my favorite part is during Romeo’s spew about Rosaline, there’s one part where he says something like ‘with cupid’s arrow/she hath diane’s will’, and the teacher was taking this to mean Rosaline was a Super Lesbian who was breaking the law or something and running away with her lover Diane, which would be a rad storyline, sure, but like…I’m just raising my hand like “Um Ma’am, Diana is the Roman goddess of chastity. What Romeo meant is that she told him she’s sworn off love and is probably becoming a nun?” and this woman just got. So angry. Like, excuse me, you are a student, you’re here to learn, so you clearly don’t know anything about this (I read Romeo and Juliet for the first time in like preschool whoops). Anyway, she continues on making up her own plot to the play, and I…well I was basically Hermione Fucking Granger at this point I couldn’t just sit there and listen to someone be this wrong about something omfg??? She just got angrier and angrier and stopped calling on me after a while.

So for a couple lessons I’m just left to seethe quietly, but one day after class this girl I knew since grade school came up to me and was like “Could you…? Tell me what the hell we’re supposed to be learning?” and I didn’t even like her but I liked the validation of being someone’s Chosen Teacher so I wrote out a summary for her of everything we had covered so far so she could actually write a comprehendible essay for our homework that night.

But THEN the during the class when we got our essays back, she made a HUGE DEAL, like ‘oh Molly, it wasn’t bad enough that you’ve been failing this course material, now you have to drag your friends into it by trying to re-write the play?’ (l m a o). Like this bitch had literally tried to fight me on ‘Paris is the guy Juliet’s father wants her to marry’ and she didn’t even put a grade on my essay where I said the play only ended in tragedy because of how young and naïve the kids were, that if they had taken a breather and thought things through it probably would’ve been fine (it was a damn good essay and I stand by it). But anyway, she’s trying to make me out to my classmate’s as someone who’s trying to sabotage their education for laughs.

This backfired on her.

See, it dawned on people one by one, that she was only teaching the wrong material -> so they wouldn’t know the right material -> so when they eventually would take the exams they would only have her crazy answers -> which the third party graders wouldn’t know about -> everyone fails this course that’s like half the overall grade of the year.

Most students consider that a problem.

So suddenly the class has decided I’m the fucking Shakespeare Whisperer or something, and one by one start begging me for help. At first I was confused, because as I said, it’s so easy for me that I didn’t realize literally the entire class was lost out of their asses here. omfg. So I was really getting hassled here but I didn’t want my entire class to fail you know???? So I started meeting with people during study halls or texting them after school so they knew what was going on. And then they started telling people in this teacher’s other classes, including upperclassmen who were lost as fuck, so this was quickly spiraling out of control on my end, but overall people were really starting to understand the plays better!! So I was feeling really great.

But then, the teacher noticed that none of the homework getting handed in to her matched up with her crazy translations, and knew I was the sole person to blame (naturally). She literally tried to get me suspended over this, she went to the school’s disciplinarian!

Note: This guy, Mr. C, knew I was a God damn angel- my science class was off the charts, inappropriately awful, so every time one of our science teacher’s wanted to give the entire class detention, instead of calling Mr. C up to the class room as was the rule, they’d send me down to get him so he’d know to write up every student except for me. So when my English teacher dragged me in there he was looking her like “What on Earth could this girl have possibly done to piss you off?” 😂😂

And when she explained he looked at her for a very long moment, glanced at me with a signature ‘Office’ Reaction Face™ , turned back to her and was like “You want her suspended…for starting a study group?” and I was CHOKING.

So that really pissed her off and they started fighting and this was a very overworked and Done man so at some point he gave up and was like “I’m not suspending her but fine we can put a ban on the study group if you leave my office” omfg. So all the other students get notified and now they’re back to freaking out about the upcoming exams.

So like two days later, I’m at lunch, complaining about this to one of my friends who had a different English teacher and thus no problem, and I’m on this whole angry rant (Because I’m pissed, a bunch of kid’s grades are gonna get fucked up because of this! They just wanted to do well! I just wanted to help them!) and my friends staring at me quietly the whole time and when I finish I’m like “What?” and she’s just like “…Molly did you literally start up Dumbledore’s Army in our fucking school?” and I died on scene.

But then I started thinking about the comparison and I was like? You know fucking what? If Harry Potter can get those kids to pass their fucking DADA test I can help kids pass their fucking English Exam. Bring it the fuck on, Umbridge.

So I started Spreading The Word that anyone who needs help with their Shakespeare course can still get help, we just all need to meet up once to hash out the details. After some back and forth notes and deliberations, we ended up meeting in the school library, which was hilarious for a few reasons:

1) It was directly across the hall from this teacher’s classroom.

2) It was actually a converted janitors closet, way smaller than all the other classrooms, and there were like 50 people shoved in there; Not exactly an ideal Room of Requirement

3) The library carried no Shakespeare texts, but had the entire Harry Potter series on display to see when you first walked in

But anyway, despite the fact that we were literally three feet away from her door while we were doing this, our teacher was none the wiser of the meeting. We worked out a game plan- everyone writes out bullshit essays that align with what the teacher’s expecting. After she grades those and gives them back, they get them to me- slipping them in my locker, handing it to me discreetly in the halls or in another class, what have you. I then try to power through the dizzying amount of confusion radiating out of the teacher’s mouth and onto these papers, and more or less write out better translation of what was going on in whatever scene they covered, what the highlights they needed to know were, stuff like that, and then slip it back to them in similar discreet fashion (so the teacher/disciplinarian wouldn’t see me and get suspicious ; also because I was like 15 and wanted to feel like a super cool secret agent). They would then keep my copies and use them as study guides for the upcoming exams, where they would then answer all the questions correctly, the way the third party graders would mark correctly, and pass the exams + the bullshit essays would get them high marks in the teacher’s homework grades. The teacher never caught on to what was happening, just thought her students finally started paying attention to her.

All in all, it was a complicated mess, but it fucking worked. I don’t think anyone failed their exams that year. Will I ever be cooler? No. I think I fucking peaked when I was 15.

So, I decided to make this post for you guys and I hope you find these tips as helpful as I did :)

1. Never compare yourself to others, but really, NEVER do it.

From my personal experience, I can tell you there’s nothing more destructive than comparing yourself to another person. Every single one of us unique and has their own amazing skills. Maybe one of your friends aces Physics class but you rule when it comes to Chemistry class or a foreign language. Also never let anyone make you feel like you’re not awesome because you are. As Eleanor Roosevelt would say “No one can make feel inferior without your consent.” So don’t let them and wWhat you do, do it for you.

2. See what you’re missing and do it.

If you pay attention and make fantastic notes, but still you don’t reach your desired goal and you know you can do better, check what is missing. Maybe is studying for the exam. Maybe is handing in the homework. Maybe it can be related to a poor sleep or nutrition. You gotta identify what is wrong and do something to change it.

3. Sit up front.

Again, I have experienced this and when I sit in the back I completely lose my focus and immediately start to talk with my friends and doodling on the back of my notebook. Look for the seats right in the front, you’ll be able to pay more attention to what the teacher/lecturer is saying and you’ll be more likely to get done your work fast.

4. Time management.

As a big procrastinator, I can tell you that not having a schedule or not planning your tasks can be really harmful to your grades. I know sometimes Season 4 of Sherlock sound more fun than Spanish reading but you need to prioritize. Make a list, from the most important task to the least, that way if you do not complete everything, you will have ready the most essential duties. Be strong and work hard, then relax.

5. Eat well and sleep well.

As I wrote in one of the past points, sleep and food can be a really influent factor in your school performance. If you only eat junk food and sleep four hours, you’ll be more likely to fall asleep in class or even to suffer a lack of focus and energy because of not nurturing your body properly. I know sometimes homework takes more time that we expected to get done but if it’s not school work or something really important, you should try not to stay awake (even more if your reason to lose hours of precious sleep is to be scrolling down Instagram or Tumblr, which can be done next day). Eat your veggies and get 8-hour sweet dreams.

6. Stay hydrated.

Drink at least 2 liters of water per day. It increases energy and relieves fatigue, promotes weight loss, flushes out toxins and will get you closer to the perfect skin we all want.

7. Pray

Personally, this has been really important to me, especially when it comes to a big exam or a contest. Praying always gives me peace and makes me feel more confident. I invite you to try it, you’ll see the difference. Also, studies have demonstrated that prayer helps you to have more self-control and makes you less vulnerable to the negative physical health effects associated with stress.

8. Pretend that you’ll have to teach the material you are learning, that way you’ll pay more attention and be more likely to memorize it fast.

Always do your best and remember that good thing take time.

On a part of all transgender people, I would like to say a few thing:

  1. Just because we’re friends, that doesn’t mean you have any, any, excuse to be transphobic or make transphobic jokes. Just because I like you doesn’t mean you can use me as a free pass for your disgusting jokes. I’m a transgender boy, not an emotionless robot.
  2. Transgender woman and men are more than a fetish. We are more than your fantasy. We are more than your porn preferences. We are not your sick idea of a living kink.
  3. If you’re going to write about trans people, DO YOUR FUCKING RESEARCH!!! Starting T doesn’t mean you are automatically fully biologically male. Dysphoria is fucking awful. People who are meant to support us can just make us a joke. Bullying is real and scary.
  4. Mental illness and being LGBT are not the same thing.
  5. No LGBT person in popular media represent us all. We’re all unique and different, because we’re all fucking human??
  6. No, my name is not a nickname. It is my name. Whether it is my birth name or not is irrelevant.
  7. Teachers, you can be the most supportive and amazing people ever and I’d like to take a second to thank my English teacher for being so supportive.
  8. Stop using us as jokes. Like, I really fucking hate it. Just don’t.
  9. We’re normal! We’re nothing scary, we’re not going to attack you for being cis, and we don’t want anything more than your support and love!
  10. Teach your kids or siblings or parents or whoever these rules. They’re simple, easy, and can make a trans person’s day when you follow them!

Sorry for being so angry. I’m just sick of people calling me a lesbian.

How to Annotate Literature

Many times language and literature classes require students to annotate the books that are given to them, but in many cases tips and advice on how to do so is lacking. I will be sharing my personal strategy for efficient and successful annotating that will not only help your understanding of the text but also gain the love of your teachers!

The tips have been divided into 5 components, each with their own explanation.

Sticky Tabs are Your Best Friend

I don’t know how I would manage to annotate without my sticky tabs. They help me organize and navigate the book before the reading, remind me what to look for while i’m going through the text and help me find whatever I may need once I get to further analysis for the class.

Create a key for your tabs, personally I use five colors each having a few specific purposes based on where I place them in the book. Most stickies are accompanied by a specific note that will remind me of what I wanted to point out, these stick out of the right margin.

  • Pink- Anything to do with characters, be it development or certain traits to remember. It can also be used for when you have questions about character related aspects of the text.
  • Orange- Refers to setting, in plays it is also applicable for stage directions.
  • Yellow- Is used for literary devices and use of language (tone, diction, patterns) and syntax, if there is a particular word the author used or a structure you want to take note of, this is the color to use.
  • Green- Applicable to any important plot events, notable scenes or things that you think will be significant later in the story.
  • Blue- Themes and context of said ideas, anything to do with time, place and space in which the text takes place. It can also relate to how your context (a student reading a book for a literature course) impacts your perception of the text.

These are the things teachers usually look out for and it is certainly useful in any kind of further task!

The top and bottom margins can be used to divide the book in to sections, such as chapters or scenes, mark the most important pages and to also highlight text to text connections. These colors you can pick yourself!

I do not recommend having more than 5 sticky tabs per page, otherwise it gets too crowded and they lose their purpose! (but you will still need to buy aaa lloootttt)

This is my key for the book I am currently annotating, Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw.

Don’t Overdo it With the Highlighter

Find one color highlighter that you like the most and use it to mark explicit words or phrases that catch your attention, you can also use them in correlation with you sticky tabs!

I prefer to use a yellow highlighter because it seems to bleed the least, and I usually use it in relation to the the yellow and blue tabs because those are the ones that relate to the most detailed and minute parts of the text. Once again you can find your own preference! But don’t overdo it, otherwise, like the tabs, the highlighter will lose its function to highlight important points.

This is an example of how much highlighting I usually do. For non-fictional texts or parts of a book (like in the introduction you see here) I reserved highlighter for dates and names.

Have a Conversation With the Author

This is one of the first tips that my high school teacher gave me and it’s really one of the most important ones to remember. And I know, it may sound kinda silly, but I find that it really helps me in developing my ideas and remembering exactly how I felt about a certain aspect of part of the text.

Whether the text is fiction of non fiction, anything in between, you can always do these few things

  • Ask questions- As if you were going to get an answer, ask questions, write them down and write down as many as you want. Writing things down helps people remember so then it is more likely that in a class discussion you will be able to recall your queries or wonders.
  • If you don’t like something, or you’re surprised by something, write it down! Use exclamation marks, use words that you would use in a regular conversation. I always write ‘WOW!!’ or ‘OMG’ when i’m especially impressed, and having such vocal- well written vocally- emotions will bring you closer to the subject of the text.
  • Talk to the characters as well, if you are questioning a character’s actions ask them and provide an explanation as to why you speculate they may have acted a certain way. Not only does that further contribute to your involvement (also making things more entertaining) but it also deepens your thought!

What i’m trying to say is write down anything that comes to mind, your first response is your true response, and it is a valuable addition to your notes! And if you want to write a whole essay in between the lines… Actually, i’ll come back to that later!

Pens, not Pencils

I used to make notes completely in pencil but my approach changed when I realized that overtime the pencil would rub off and get illegible. I think it was because I used my book so much, but having switched to pen I realized that it helps me in quite a few other things as well.

The good thing about pen is that you can’t erase it and let’s say you started writing down a note, scan down the page and realize what you are taking a note of is completely wrong. That’s ok! That’s actually really good! Don’t scribble out what you just wrote down, but instead continue and explain why you may have thought a certain way and what your understanding is now. That relates really closely to the previous note.

Evidently pen also appears darker on the page, then there’s no possibility of it ever disappearing. It also won’t smudge or bleed as long as it’s ballpoint! That’s a good thing when drawing arrows between lines, underlining in addition to your highlights and circling/boxing whatever you deem necessary.

Time, Effort and Commitment

It’s clear that this post took me a while to make, and it took me a while to develop this system with all of the things that I have considered. So it must be self evident that using this type of annotation won’t be quick. It might get tiring at some times, and for me it really does, but at the end I find that it always pays off! You have to stay committed to this technique, you have to put in the same amount of effort for every page, which means you need time. So here are a few final general tips I will leave you with.

  • Don’t procrastinate! As goes for any task, and this one more than any, don’t waste time getting to it! I advice you check how many pages you have in total and make sure that you do a certain amount per day (usually 5-10 pages a day is good!)
  • If you go off on massive tangents in the side bars, make sure that you don’t get too distracted by them because they will take up a lot of your time. But one now and then may be good! Be sure to mark it for later reference!
  • Play mind games with yourself. This one is actually pretty interesting but it personally gets me a long way. If you have 20 pages left, don’t look at it as 20 pages but instead as 4 times 5, then the amount will seem a lot more manageable! It’s a kind of self encouragement!
  • That can also be said by looking now and then at how far your bookmark has moved through the book and giving yourself a pat on the back for all of you hard work!

That’s all I have for now! If you have any further questions for advice or explanation please message me and I will be more than happy to help! And I hope that this helps some people out too! (I’m counting this as 21/100 days of productivity as all I did today was related to annotating.)

I’ve been reflecting on my years in special ed and I remember as a kid the first thing I noticed was that the teachers seemed a little too happy. They were unusually bright and cheery all the time. Later I realized that this is how they think you’re supposed to talk to ND kids. I remember one time in class a teacher explained something and then-in front of the WHOLE class- she singled me out and asked “did you get that, (my name)?” I tried to play it cool and said something like “uh, yeah, you just said that” to which she responded in an obnoxiously cheery tone “good! That means you’re listening!” I felt mortified and patronized beyond description.

Looking back, I realize that the best teachers who I never felt patronized by where the ones who had learning disabilities themselves. This one teacher with ADHD was one of my favorite teachers and he was so awesome and I’d always look forward to class with him. He’s talk about his own issues with organization and stuff and I really get like he understood us students.

I don’t mean to make a generalization but I really feel like most NT special ed teachers are doing their jobs for the wrong reasons. I get the impression that they see special ed as a charity project for them so they can feel like a good person or be like one of those special ed teachers in those inspiration porn articles (“heartwarming! this special ed teacher smiled at his students!”). ND special ed teachers have a much better connection with their students in my experience because although every learning disability is different, they understand the basic experience the student is going through and they don’t feel the need to put in this stilted bright-and-cheery persona.

A/N: You guys!!!!  I can’t believe you are all so nice honestly!!!!  I hit 500 followers today so as a thank you, here is pt. 3 a day earlier than expected!!  Forgive me if there are any mistakes, as I stayed up late to finish it (I have to be up in six hours for work oh lord) and I really hope you guys like it.  There most definitely will be a pt. 4, and possibly pt. 5, as this scene became longer than expected, and I decided to split it between two chapters.  Again, thank you so much, guys.  All my love.

As the end of August neared, you began to fear the return of school.  Not because you hated it—in fact, you were fond of school.  You liked learning, you liked seeing your friends from certain classes, and you even missed some of your teachers. However, with the return of your school came the return of Spider-Man’s school.  He had explained to you how difficult it was to balance the responsibilities of his civilian life with the responsibilities of being a superhero. Between those tightropes of time management, you doubted there would be any hours allotted to visiting you.

You knew that you had no right to be sad about your predicament.  The right thing to do would be to not think selfishly, and just be happy with the time you were given with someone who doesn’t normally share their world. But, no matter how many times you had a talk with yourself, you still couldn’t bring yourself out of your melancholy thoughts.

Class on BBC America

ok so if youre following me and haven’t watched class already, i wouldn’t blame you if you just looked away from the title lmao, i am quite forceful when it comes to this

ANYWAY, as most of you probably know already, the new series of doctor who premieres on bbc america tonight at 9/8c (if you’re in the small minority who doesn’t just download it illegally when it comes out in the uk), and that’s awesome!! but before you’re tempted to switch off your tv immediately and scream on social media - there is a new show starting straight after, and you should really watch it

class is a spin-off of doctor who set at coal hill school, with a torchwood-like premise in that there is a tear in space and time which attracts a bunch of aliens. the cast is HUGELY diverse - there’s a black girl who is super intelligent and skipped two school years, but is still vulnerable and cares deeply about her family (and calls out another character on his alien racist attitudes); a sikh boy who talks about his religion, and loses a leg in the first episode and has to get used to using a prosthetic, and a gay polish character who deals with homophobia, but that isn’t his entire character. the only two white males are in a gay relationship, and there are two interracial relationships as well.
THERE’S NOT A SINGLE STRAIGHT WHITE MALE IN THE MAIN CAST!!

also it’s not written by moffat if that helps - its written by YA author patrick ness who’s written stuff like a monster calls, more than this, the rest of us just live here, etc.

HOWEVER, at the moment, due to lack of advertising from the bbc, only being shown online and being given a shitty time slot when it actually was shown on bbc one, it is very low on viewing figures, and in danger of not being renewed for a second season. at the moment, the bbc haven’t made a decision, and it entirely depends on how well it does in america - so it’s crucial that you watch it!! even if you don’t want to actually watch the show, at least leave your tv on after dw, to boost the viewing figures. posting about in online, specifically twitter and instagram since those are the only ones the bbc care about, would also help a lot, and signing the petition for season two (that i can’t link right now as im on mobile)

(the characters i didn’t mention are brilliant as well - there’s a girl who seems like a typical hufflepuff at the start but then becomes probably the second most badass character in the show, gay alien prince who’s socially awkward and adorable but also super morally grey and pretty much a slave owner, and although he doesn’t think so he gets called out on it a lot, and an alien freedom-fighter physics teacher who has hilarious lines but also a really complex personality and backstory and gets a shit ton of character development. she’s my fave. i love her a lot.)

tl;dr: class is on bbc america tonight at 10/9c (after dw), its really good, watch it or it won’t get a second season and i’ll cry

What German is like

 Hey everyone!

I know that there are a lot of stereotypes about all kinds of languages, and I thought I’d start with my own and explain a little about it. Even if you’re not aspiring to learn it, I hope this post might interest you.

1. “German people always sound angry.”

I don’t think this is true. German can sound angry, yes, because we have a hard pronunciation (I can’t think of a better description right now) and use a lot of nouns, which make everything sound more formal and less emotional (also known as “Beamtendeutsch” = official german). But I think the reason why people from other countries associate anger with the german language is because in the media, you probably only see german politicians in the parliament holding speeches - and, of course, 80% of them are yelling at other politicians and speaking in formal terms.

Here are some music videos in which you’ll hear a different German:

Sarah Connor’s “Wie schön du bist” (How beautiful you are) from her album “Muttersprache” (Mother Language);

Andreas Bourani’s “Auf anderen Wegen” (On different ways) (please also check out the english translation of the lyrics!)

Mark Forster’s “Au Revoir”

Adel Tawil’s “Lieder” (Songs)

Of course there are tons of other German artists, feel free to browse Youtube or iTunes and I’m sure you’ll find something you like.

2. “German isn’t useful at all. “

Every language is useful! Secondly, German is among the 12 most spoken languages of the world, and it’s an official language in six countries. Almost 100 million people speak German as a first or second language. (x) It’s also a minority language in several other countries.

Most importantly though: There are a lot of languages that are easier to learn once you speak German - Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch… I learnt Latin in school and everyone told me it was useless because literally no one speaks it. With the help of Latin, I’m now able to understand almost all Roman languages, like Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French. Learning a language always has more positive side effects than we think. Plus, German is a challenge! It’s different from English, it’s different from Roman Languages, but all in all it’s very consistent.

3. “German is way too difficult to learn - even German people can’t speak German properly. “

Yes, it’s difficult to learn. What isn’t? We have tons of fun grammar and tenses and weird exceptions, but that’s what makes it cool. It will also improve your knowledge of grammar terms in general so you can apply it to almost any language in the world. (Worked for me that way with Latin, which has some big similarities to German.) Plus, the basic grammar you need to master daily situations isn’t all that bad.

Well, there certainly are German people who aren’t as capable of German grammar as they should be - but I guess there are also British people who confuse affect and effect and forget to use the subjunctive. I can assure you that people whose first language is German are not bad at German. Not everyone knows the grammar rules, but we use them correctly subconsciously.

4. “I can’t pronounce most of the words.”

The wonderful ä, ö, ü, ch.. Yeah, I can see how the pronunciation can be a problem. However, rest assured that

a) 80% of the German native speakers have equally as much trouble with the “th” in English and

b) no one will judge you if you speak with an accent. We’re going to congratulate you on trying your very best to learn our language, and we certainly won’t mock you if you pronounce things wrong.

Learning a second language (mostly English) is obligatory in Germany, so really everyone here can relate to having problems with foreign languages, no matter if the problem is grammar, orthography or pronunciation. I learnt three foreign languages in school. Half of my year is probably still trying to figure out how the famous english “if-sentences” work, which verbs are used with the spanish subjuntivo and what the hell a latin ablativus absolutus is. So yeah, don’t worry. We’ve all been there.

5. “Even Germans sound so different, it’s like they don’t speak the same language!

True. We have so many dialects in Germany that I can’t even count them, and of course Austria and Switzerland probably have even more than we do. It’s said that people from Hannover speak the “best” German, but to be honest, I don’t know if that’s true. Maybe. I’ve never been to Hannover.

The most famous dialect is probably Bavarian. Berlin and Cologne have their own dialects, as well as Sachsen, Hessen and basically every other city or region. If you wanna catch a glimpse of it, watch Peter Frankenfeld’s scene “Die Wetterkarte” (Weather Report). It’s really old and the content doesn’t apply to nowadays, but the dialects he does are really accurate and super funny - even I don’t understand everything he says tbh. Keep in mind though that most people don’t use dialects especially when they are in contact with people from all over the country and it’s necessary that they’re understood, like lawyers, doctors, teachers, professors et cetera. I don’t even really speak “my” dialect because we never used it at home. And don’t worry, most people will try to speak their best non-dialect German when they notice you’re not a native speaker!

This turned out much longer than I thought, but I hope this was helpful in some sort of way. :)

Any more questions? Ask me! x

bts personality analysis: seokjin

i think that jin is a really malleable person; someone that can adapt to people based on their personalities. he has the ability to modify his behaviour to suit other people like how he is silly and goofy when around maknae line and is much more reserved and insightful around the hyung line, people who are closer to his age. jin is honest and knows when to assert himself. he knows when he is to be respected and isn’t shy when giving his two cents in a conversation. even though he is seen as confident and outgoing, i think that jin is insecure. he needs praise and he needs to have validation and thats why i think bangtan gets a little hard for him at times because, as we all know, jin doesn’t get the appreciation he deserves. he said that he tells himself that “acting young will make him look young” and i thought of the confidence tactic ‘fake it til you make it’. i think jin is trying really hard and i just want everyone to fuckin appreciate all his hard work can we agree kim seokjin is an angel???? i also have noticed how impatient jin is and i wouldn’t go as far as saying tactless, but i do see that jin is very open about his opinions which can be brutal if it triggers a soft spot.

ive said this a lot, but people think that a celebrities personality is what we see through interviews and reality shows and even logs - but that isn’t the case. we need to remember that kpop is a business and that they manufacture things a lot because at the end of the day, kpop is for entertainment purposes. bighit has done a good job portraying bts as a relatable, chirpy band; this is bangtan’s ‘avatar’. their avatar sometimes gets taken away in livestreams or in meet-ups and we can see who they truly are and i think that jins alternate, ‘variety’ personality is more or less the same in real life. variety seokjin is goofy and tells dad jokes and that is his shtick, but in real life we see that same hilarious seokjin except a lot more intense. jin is intense and passionate. we see that on stage, majority of the time when he is singing awake. it’s really beautiful to watch the awake performance and to hear his emphasise on certain words that he is most passionate about and you can tell that he has gone through a lot.

jin has said on many occasions that he felt most loved after the fire era when he Evolved and did hand kisses and told jokes and you could see how happy he was and it made me really happy to see (when did this turn from an analysis to me just complimenting jin????).

i also noticed while looking through the bts ch+ channel some things that kind of gave me more insight to jins relationships with the bts members. one relationship that kind of had me kind of wondering was jinkook. it’s hard to work out because i’m aware of the age gap but i’ve noticed that jungkook doesn’t necessarily acknowledge jin and it made me quite uncomfortable to watch. i do enjoy the back and forth that jinkook have and the banter is fun but i don’t know - it seems like theres some tension there sometimes (if anyone wants video receipts hmu). i’m not trying to start some god damn ship war so pls chill in my ask box this is just what ive noticed. i think that jin and jimin are a good pair because jimin has a habit of making people feel good and validated which is exactly what jin needs most, and i think jinmin’s relationship is healthy and beneficial for both of them!! i think that taehyung really does look up to jin as an older brother and has a great amount of respect for him and ive noticed that he always laughs at jins jokes!!! a+ concept!!! jin and hoseok are nice to watch because i think jin loves to learn and hoseok is always there to help him learn. even though hoseok is younger than jin, he is a teacher figure to jin. jin respects hoseok. jin and namjoon!!! one of my favourite relationships!! i think that jin is himself when he is around namjoon because he knows that namjoon isn’t one to judge, which i think is something that jin fears. he drinks up namjoons insight and gives his own insight back and i just really love the dynamics of this friendship. jin is most pliant when around yoongi, since yoongi’s character is pretty intense, i wouldn’t have thought that jin would be roommates with him; it just doesn’t seem like a good fit. but it really is kind of perfect. jin has the ability to adapt his personality and knows yoongi’s boundaries and that’s why i think he is the best person to be yoongi’s roommate (i rly cant imagine yoongi rooming with someone from maknae line - what a trainwreck).

kim seokjin - intp/sagittarius. optimistic, honest, impatient, adaptive.

diego luna appreciation week
day five: diego + riz ahmed and donnie yen
Actually, Diego Luna, because I was trying to learn random Spanish sentences — I learned a little bit of Mandarin from Jiang Wen, a little Spanish. So Diego was kind of my unofficial Spanish teacher on set. He was terrible, I didn’t learn anything really — Riz Ahmed says Diego is the one who is most likely to correct his grammar.

High school advice for kids with abusive/ controllig parents

*Have a plan. Whatever plan you make up freshman year will most likely not be the one you have senior year, which is good because it evolves and becomes more logical. Regardless have one so youll have greater chances of moving out
*Stay on top of your grades. Even though it can be extremely stressful and is unrealistic to expect anyone to have perfect grades, if you do this it will minimize the likelyhood of you getting punished or having a scapegoat to yell at you with. If you cant though, just recognize you DONT deserve to be yelled at or abused because of a number
*Join as nuch extra curricullars as you can handle, not only will you not be at home as much, but this looks good for college letters and can be very rewarding
*Many if not most of your freinds will not stay if you cant go out or barely do. Im warning you now
*Talk to a counselor or trusted teacher as soon as possible about your home issues, this will prove very helpful through out high school
*Also have an outlet. Like a diary or a freind or a counselor. I did a mixture in highschool, if i was really mad id write a letter id never send to my parents. Hell i even made this account
*IF AT ANY POINT YOU THINK YOUR LIFE IS IN DANGER REPORT IT TO AN ADULT
*Save up for a car and get your license asap, youll be grateul you did

Please feel to add on

Imagine your neighbor, Dean Winchester, implying there are more things he can to you than the boy you had over a few days ago. And going into detail.

Related to these: Imagine your neighbor, Dean Winchester, getting jealous when he sees a guy leave your house in the morning when your parents are gone on a trip.

Imagine changing in your room while your neighbor, Dean Winchester, is watching from his own window.

“(Y/n)? Hey!” you were greeted with that breath-taking smile once the door opened.

“Hey, hope I am not interrupting?”

“You? No, never of course.” he chuckled “Come on in, kid.”

“I just- I was a little bored and a lot more hungry and-” you laughed awkwardly “So I made some pie and just… here.” you decided to hand him the plate.

“Are you trying to corrupt me, missy?” he asked with a smirk although it was completely the other way round.

“Wh-what? No, no absolutely not, Mr Winchester. I just-”

“Relax, (Y/n).” his chuckle cut you off “I am just kidding, don’t worry your secret’s safe with me. No words are coming outta my mouth.” he winked and a small sigh of relief left your lips.

“Thank you, a lot.”

“No need, I wasn’t going to in the first place. You say nothing happened, I believe you. Now come on, let me offer you something to drink, yeah?” his words made you relax a little as you followed him inside the house to the kitchen.

“Oooh love me some pie.” he said in a deep voice and a small giggle left your lips “My gosh!” he moaned deeply as he grabbed a piece with his hand and ate some of it “That’s what I call a good orgasm, thanks (Y/n)!” he licked his lips, nodding his head approvingly.

You laughed softly “No problem, I guess.”

“Oh hell yeah!” he gave you a childlike grin “I mean I’ve neve- oh, is that whiped cream?” he raised an interested eyebrow.

“Yep, homemade too.” you said proudly as he dipped his finger in it and then in his mouth. Boy you tried so hard not to get distracted.

“Really?” his eyebrows shot up “Wow if you were a little older we’d really get a fun situation and put these incredible skills of yours to good use, princess.” he chuckled and you tried to keep yourself from biting your lip and letting your mind wander to thought you shouldn’t be having.

Fun situation? Oh you were interested to know what he could consider fun with you and wiped cream in it.

“Alright- I probably should have not said that out loud.” he mumbled to himself before shaking his head and licking his two fingers “What would you like to drink, princess?”

“Wha- oh uh a coffee would be great.” you offered him a soft smile, taking a seat on one of the chairs; clearing your throat because of how strained and squeaky your voice came out.

“Gotcha” he nodded his head, starting to prepare your coffee “Let’s see if I remember it correctly otherwise… just old age, I might be forgetting a few things.” he said playfully but you shook your head.

“You’re not old, Mr Winchester.”

“Glad to know you think so, (Y/n), but we both know the truth. I’m not as young as I used to be ten years ago.” he shrugged.

“I don’t care, for me you are as old as you feel.”

“Then the boy you had over last night must feel like he’s five huh? Seriously, what were you even doing with someone like him (Y/n/n)?” he leaned against the kitchen counter, putting his hands in his pockets.

“First, I really mean it when I said it was mostly about homework. And second; he’s just a friend, that’s all.” you shrugged.

“Yeah a friend, if you wanna call it. But you could see it crystal clear, he was eye-fucking you.” he said matter-of-factly.

“Well, that was the point.” you muttered to yourself “But nothing happened so you don’t have to worry Mr Winchester.” you cleared your throat, saying a little more loudly.

By all means, he could never compare to Dean freaking Winchester but your gorgeous neighbor could only see you as the young girl next door even if you would be twenty years old in a few months. To him you were just a kid, he loved hanging out with you and talking, maybe flirting too, but he never seemed to show real interest in you. Just when you thought he’d make a move he’d made a full turn and either mention your parents or talk about his own age. Someone would say he would try to act like a father figure. So what other choice did you have but to try and forget him with someone else?

“You don’t need some idiot like him, (Y/n).” his voice brought you back to reality “You’re much better than that.” he said so honestly it actually made your heart skip a beat “I seriously am surprised how you’d even give him a second glance, not to mention want to be with him.”

“Why are you saying this?” you whispered and he gave you a soft smile.

“You’re way out of his league, sweetheart, way above his or any other guy’s pay grade. You don’t even begin to realize it but if anything you are the catch here.” he said casually and you bit your lip playing with your fingers “Besides, he’s just a boy and that shows.”

“Boy?” you asked knowing he meant a lot more by that.

“He only cares about getting into your pants, and I highly doubt he even knows that ladies come first.”

“Meaning?” you said biting your lip. Why did he have to be so perfect?

“Meaning that guys his age are all about getting the job done without giving a single care about how to treasure and ravish a woman’s body, how to cherish you with everything of his, show you what real passion is and slowly but pleasurably bringing you over the edge.” he spoke smoothly, his one hand now resting on the kitchen counter and the other in his pocket as his eyes roamed your figure for a moment.

“And a man your age does?” your voice was barely above a whisper.

“You’d be surprised, princess.” he smirked, handing the coffee to you “The-” he licked his lips, leaning against the table closer to you now as he looked away from you “The touching, the feeling of each other’s bodies and them moving together, pulling and pushing and grinding while it all builds and builds and builds, before you just hit that sweet-” he stopped himself, shaking his head with a small laugh “But you kids do it differently these days, I’m sure.”

“Ye-yeah, I guess some things have changed.” you laughed shyly “You’d really be a good sex ed teacher in my old highschool, though.”

“You think?” he gave you a boyish grin “I don’t know how well I’d deal with all those horny teens laughing at the most simple thing though. Speaking of which-” he got serious “Do me a favor and keep the guy at bay, huh (Y/n)? I know a thing or two and he sure as hell doesn’t seem like the type to make it all about you like he should.” his eyes bore into yours “Boys like him don’t even know how to handle a woman like you, how to be more skilled time after time.”

“And you do?” you asked biting your lip, not even caring to say “men like you” because there was nobody like him. He paused, lips parted as he looked in front of him before he returned his eyes at you.

“I’ll let you figure that out, princess.” and he winked at you.

bts personality analysis: hoseok

okay so hoseok is probably the member that im interested in the most. most people see him as his avatar - an image, a persona - which is bubbly and cheerful and hoseoks voice always fills the silence. as much as i do believe that hoseok does have these traits, i don’t think that this is necessarily the hoseok that bangtan see from day to day. he has the most intense image that strays away from his own personality and that would stress anybody out. its a pressure to always have a one-liner or to make a funny entrance and you can see it takes a toll on him. his cheerful image is constructed by bighit and i really dont like when people think that he is just being himself because it is clearly a concept made for entertainment purposes - which isn’t a bad thing because, at the end of the day, bangtan are entertainers. hoseok is immensely complex and has many different sides to him and id like to go through them.

the choreographer, the teacher. we see this side of him sometimes in dance practices. he is patient, but he is stern. he asserts himself most when it comes to dance because that is what he knows best. dance is where he finds solace so he takes it seriously. he practices until he cant any more and he is a perfectionist, you can see this in the foot work. each foot is perfectly place, each move combats the beat. its as if he has practised for hours on end - which, he does. hoseok has a strong sense of duty when it comes to dance and takes it seriously; serious is a word that juxtaposes his online persona which is why people are most surprised when they see him act like an actual human being.

the carer, the lover. hoseok has a warm, sensitive side which i think i love most. he acts as an older brother figure for the maknae line and is a friend to the hyung line. he cares for them, he teaches them, he learns from them. hoseok seeks harmony in the group and i dont think he would cope very well if there wasn’t a connection with who he was with, which is why i do believe that all of bangtan are very close. i think he also knows how to connect well with others which is why he doesn’t have trouble making friends. he knows what other people need and value, and conforms to it. i think that hoseok is also very vulnerable to conforming because he doesn’t like to be left out and he doesn’t like to lose. he may be considered a pushover to people and is easier to manipulate.

hoseok and jin are nice to watch because i think jin loves to learn and hoseok is always there to help him learn. even though hoseok is younger than jin, he is a teacher figure to jin. jin respects hoseok. hoseok and yoongi are my #1 go-to relationship in bangtan. they are the most complex members and together they just fit together so perfectly, as if there personalities were made to be mended together. yoonseok!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i lvoe them. hoseok and namjoon are a really interesting pair and i love their dynamic. they would do anything to please one another and i love watching them interact. they are the same age which gives them a deeper connection. hoseok and jimin are really lovely too because jimin understand hoseok and his love for dance and i think hoseok really appreciate that. jimin knows when hoseok is tired and grumpy and knows when to stop and i think thats a really good quality in a friendship. hoseok and taehyung are strange because as much as i love their interactions, they both seem too intense for each other. both of them have such strong characters that i feel like they can only be around each other for a certain amount of time before it drives either one insane. hoseok and jungkook have a sibling relationship, jungkook really admires and respects hoseok and his dance and wants to learn from him. hoseok keeps jungkook on his toes which is exactly what that boy needs.

jung hoseok - esfp/aquarius. caring, patient, temperamental, sensitive.

Oh my friend …
I’d really like to apologize for Anie’s sexualized body, but I don’t have to apologize, I’ve said it before, Anie was drawn with that body to please the perverted dreams of the father of her creators, it’s not her fault. Why do you think that most times she always covered his body in clothes?
For years, Ophelia, Anie’s teacher, filled her head with comments like “you should always cover your body,” “good girls do not wear daring clothes,” “if you wear that kind of clothes you’ll look like a bitch,” and more trash. that only made Anie a shy girl to wear clothes like Rosalyn or Chrystal Cooperson.
She tries to change, and realize that wearing a little revealing clothes does not make her less “innocent” or a “dirty girl” as Ophelia said, that’s why she has dressed occasionally with those clothes, but, I guess after this , she will not try to change again, and always wear those covered clothes that distinguish her … congratulations! nun
