i really did laugh out loud

AU where the Justice League forms like usual, except Batman maintained his “totally a myth” status and has in fact been active for years before the JL forms. He’s very cautious about trusting them, but still joins, and the others sort of accepts that as long as they trust that Batman has a really hard time with trust, it will all work out in its own weird way

Then, one day, in the middle of a JL mission, the League gets in a tight spot. Out of nowhere, this blue and black blur swoops in and saves everyone’s ass. Maybe breaking some shackles that were proving very difficult, maybe disarm a bomb that the League was just a hair’s breadth too slow to reach without help, but whatever happens, the shadowy figure pauses just long enough to say, “Hey, Batman, you know you there are these things called cellphones now and you can just call sometimes, it doesn’t have to be this dramatic?” and bounds away after shouting ‘let’s do brunch! Bring your new friends!’

Batman is mortified.

No one lets it go.

The entire rest of the mission, the whole League is asking so many questions. Who was that? Do you know him? How do you know him? What’s going on? I didn’t know there was a vigilante in this area?? They don’t let up until he talks.

“That was Nightwing.” Batman is mumbling. The JL forces him to bring them to the Brunch. Brunch happens to be in a run-down apartment on the edge of a bad neighborhood, at five in the morning, in costume. Nightwing introduces himself as Batman’s lovechild with justice.

“I did not realize Batman had a child,” Martian Manhunter says, calmly enough that no one’s sure if he’s accidentally plucking a really loud thought out of the air or if he’s trying to make a joke.

Nightwing stares for a moment falling over laughing. He doesn’t get up. Batman starts trying to apply anti-Joker venom but Nightwing just kicks him and laughs until he cries. He keeps trying to wipe his eyes and his mask keeps getting in the way, so he asks everyone to leave so he can please get a hold of himself

He is still laughing when they leave. Everyone is confused. Batman is furious.  Nightwing manages to breathe long enough to say, “We’re just so glad you’re socializing now, Batman.”

Superman turns to look at Batman very slowly. “…’we’?”

you know what i love about the bold type? how much we weren’t expecting to love sutton (and so fast too).

like from the promo material that was released kat was pretty obvious that we were going to fall in love with her from the word go, she was sassy and amazing and funny. it was an easy choice, and week to week it remains that she’s just as amazing as the promos made her out to be.

and jane was pinned as the lead (even though now we know it’s a very even spread), so we were going to love her, she was flawed and high strung, and someone you could root for week to week and cheer when she got things right and essentially grow with her as she did. and she was just the right amount of adorable.

but sutton was sneaky.

i don’t think people expected to be ride or die for her. from the promos you don’t really know much about her, she could have so easily been eclipsed by her two friends big personalities and just be that ‘other’ friend who had to be there to fill out the friendship and be their sane voice and the glue that keeps them together. and yes she is those things, but boy is she so much more. she’s funny (laugh out loud funny) and amazing and pure and determined and outspoken and brave and endearing. and i honestly couldn’t say enough about this beautiful human being.

so yeah basically sutton brady is everything, and she deserves the world.

It scares me when people say I’m sweet because I’m not. I’m bitter enough to burst, half-sick with rage on my good days. I wish someone hated him the way I did, so that I could stop, so that I could get rid of this fury that rots & blooms inside of me. This is a terrible way to think: if you really loved me you’d want him dead. I’m so tired of boys saying I’ll kill him because they never follow through. It’s just a loud thing to say before they try to touch me and then I’m left with him in my head: laughing, rolling his eyes.

I remember the day I met her. I recall everything, the clothes she was wearing, the weather, the name of the waitress that was taking my order, how stale the soda became because I was so entranced with her, with the way she moved. I remember everything. And every now and again, my brain goes over this occasion, because it does not want to forget, does not want these details of such a monumental moment in my life to fade away.

“Hey, princess” Jeff Atkins x Reader

Request: nishattazz Here’s an idea! Can you do one where y/n is playing a little hard to get, she’s Hannah friend and she’s pushing Hannah to confess to clay! Jeff tries to sit next to her and she doesn’t react (inside she’s dying) and like he tries to get a reaction out of her! And one time he talks to her and walks her backwards to the locker and make sure he gets a date or something like that! A lot of funny, flirty moments

“Come on, do it for me,” you said to your friend, Hannah Baker. You two were eating together at the cafeteria. Hannah laughed.

“Y/N… Shut up. I’m not going to ask him out” she said.

“Why not?” you asked “He’s a good guy and he’s obviously into you"

“He’s not into me” you rolled your eyes, “Fine. If he’s so into me why hasn’t he asked me out?”

“Because he’s shy!” you screamed then lowered your voice “You should ask him out”

“Yeah, Hannah, you should.” You recognized that voice in an instant. Jeff Atkins sat down next to you and you were trying to hide a smile. Hannah let out a loud laugh.

“C’mon, Hannah” you ignored the guy next to you. “Do it for me.“

“I’d do anything for you,” Jeff said. You couldn’t help but smile when looking at him. He gave you one of his infamous I’m-really-hot-and-I-know-it smiles.

“Oh, yeah?” you asked, raising an eyebrow, “What exactly would you do for me, Atkins?”

“I’ll get Hannah to ask Clay out” you laughed and looked at Hannah, who held a terrified expression.

“How did you know we were talking about Clay?” Hannah asked, biting her lips. Jeff winked at her.

“Actually, I didn’t know. Lucky guess.” you two started to laugh while Hannah rolled her eyes.

“You two are idiots.” she scoffed, “You know what, Jeff? Maybe you should ask Y/N out” she said. You were gonna kill that little asshole. He smiled at her.

“Well, it may surprise you to know, that I ask her out almost every day, yet she always turns me down” he looked at you then, “Right?”

“Fuck you, Atkins” you laughed.

“When and where princess?” Hannah started to laugh hysterically. How could he say things like that so casually and look so comfortable when saying it? Whereas your face resembled a ripe tomato.

“Only in your dreams, Atkins,” you said.

“Every night, Y/L/N” he winked at you.

“Oh my god, Jeff” Hannah giggled and honestly, you were doing a poor job trying to hide your own laugh.

“I have to go,” you said, gathering your things and walking out to the halls.

“You coming, Hannah?”

“No, sorry I can’t. I have to finish this essay for History.”

“Fine. See you in Geometry.” You looked at Jeff, “Are you coming or do you have homework too?” “

Hell, no.” he scoffed “Bye Hannah.” He waved goodbye and then fell into step beside you. His cologne was intoxicating and you were sure it was going to be the death of you. “So,” he started “do you think Hannah’s gonna ask Clay out or not?”

“I don’t know,” you said “But she has the biggest crush on him. She should do it”

“You should ask me out too” You rolled your eyes with a smile on your face. Jeff leaned on your locker, smiling.

“Yeah? And why would I do that?”

“Simply because you have a huge crush on me.” you laughed. He was so fucking right.

“Keep dreaming, Atkins”

“About you? All the time, babe” Your breath hitched a little. God, that boy was going to be the end of you.

“Ok so, since you’re so madly in love with me, you should ask me out again, maybe this time you’ll get lucky and I’ll say yes” The reason you had always refused to go on a date with Jeff was because this whole time you believed he was joking. A guy like Jeff Atkins would never go out with a girl like you…right? When you challenged him, Jeff’s eyes sparkled. He saw a chance and he took it.

“Well then, Y/N Y/L/N, would you like to go on a date with me?”

“Maybe. Yeah” you said, flirting “But we’re definitely not going to Rosie’s, there’s pink everywhere. It’s kinda sickening if I’m honest” you shuddered.

“Of course. Monet’s?”

“Monet’s”

“I’ll waiting for you here at the end of the day,” he said, starting to walk to his class, “Don’t be late, some would kill for an opportunity like this.”

“I’ll be here at the end of the day, Atkins,” you said, laughing. As he walked, Jeff screamed “I did it!” as he fist pumped the air in the middle of the hallway which made you giggle.

 Yeah, he did.

When they accidentally imply marriage

Anon Asked: Hi hi can I get a fluff reaction where bts member accidentally imply marriage to s/o then gets embarrassed about it? Like says something like “at our wedding” or “when we get married”

Hope you like it! - Admin Chimin

Namjoon: It was around midnight and you couldn’t go to sleep, luckily for you Namjoon was there to make everything better. You two started talking about the future you both had in mind and something slipped up…

“I want a small wedding, only with the boys of course, your friends, my parents and your parents” he smiled sweetly at you.

Your eyes went wide, of course you were excited that he plans to marry you. But for some reason I don’t think he knows what he said.

“You want to marry me?” you blink, sitting up.

“Of course I want to marry you! You’re my girl after all”

Seokjin: You were out on a walk with your boyfriend, the leash in his leading to the small pug huffing and puffing along Han river. “This is where I want to get married, I wonder how many people we can fit here..” that simple sentence stopped your heart. You two both stopped walking, he turned to you looking like he was gonna throw up.

“I-I-I didn’t mean it like that”

“Of course I’ll marry you” you whispered and grabbed his hand to keep walking.

“I’ve decided that when we get married, I only want small dogs so our children won’t be in fear” he laughed to himself.

You stopped tugging at the rope and stared at him, only blinking twice. He looked up at you, questioning why you were looking at him

“What did I say?”

“You’re already planning our wedding?”

His eyes went wide, Did he really just say his thoughts out loud?

“N-No Well I was…Just saying”

“Lets have an ice cream cake on our wedding day” His eyes went wide as you two both walked out of the store.

“Deal” he smiled at your answer and kissed your forehead.

“Jimin its too hot”

“Right, right”

“Tae, what did you just say?” You heard Yoongi laugh while the other boys laughed as well.

“I said I’ll beat your ass” Tae mumbled causing you to laugh.

“No the other thing, about a wedding” your heart stopped at the mention of a wedding.

“I said I wanna get married at sunset” he mumbled again.

“Why?” you heard Jungkook laugh, asking him.

“Because Y/n looks really good in that light”

Lets just say a couple hours later he was more then embarrassed but he kept denying the fact that he actually said that.

“I did not say that!”

“Y/n, hear me out. Listen, I want these drinks at our wedding”

The next morning you remembered perfectly but he didn’t.

“Y/n stop talking about drinks” you were teasing him about how much he drank the previous night.

“Even the ones that you want at our wedding?”

Tell me about the one who loved him - A Sirius Black Imagine

‘Professor Lupin? Er - I mean, Remus?’ asked Harry.

Remus looked at the young boy. His heart would always burst when he saw the young man. Each day he’d grow was a day he looked more like his father.

‘Yes Harry?’ replied Remus.

Harry sat at the table with his former professor. The Weasleys house was uncommonly quiet, he was not used for them not being there.

‘I was wondering… Sirius earlier, he said something about er… somebody he wanted to see for a very long time. Do you reckon who would that be?’

Remus’ face became serious.

‘I’ll take that as a yes, then’ said Harry, noticing Remus’s sudden expression.

Remus tried to smile to the young boy.

‘Who’s that person, then?’

‘He shouldn’t go… he’s going to make himself found’ Remus sighed.

‘Is that person could turn him in? We have to stop him!’ shouted Harry, getting up in a hurry.

‘Sit down, Harry… she won’t put him in danger, of that I’m sure. He’d just better leave the past where it is. I’ll try to find him later, put a stop to that.’

Harry sat down again, with more questions in his mind.

‘She?’ said Harry.

Let me tell you what it’s been like being asexual.

-

When you’re twelve or so, and in a classroom full of tittering preteens, you finally get an explanation of what this ‘sex’ stuff actually is.  At last, the elusive knowledge of where babies come from!  But that’s also when you start to think about your sexual future.  Will you do this sex stuff one day?  It sounded like you wouldn’t have a choice—it was presented as something that everyone does.

Since your classroom happens to be in a building attached to a Church, you only learn about heterosexual sex that day, and the only real teaching apart from what it is is that you aren’t supposed to do it until you’re married.

Okay, you think, because you are twelve, and you ardently do not care.

-

When you’re thirteen or so, and at a sleepover, a girl tells a joke.  “What do you call a girl who doesn’t masturbate?”

“I don’t know.”

“A liar.”

And the people around you laugh, but you don’t, because now you wonder what it is that you missed.  You didn’t get the joke.

-

When you’re fourteen or so, and among friends, a boy talks about what he did in the restroom with a girl.  You listen because you’re a little curious.  But others are awed.

You disapprove, because you’re in eighth grade for crying out loud, why would you do something so stupidly risky?  Was it really so fun to be worth it?

You tell yourself that they’re just stupid, but then you wonder why your friends seem so fascinated by this boy’s vaguely uncomfortable descriptions.

-

When you’re fifteen or so, you start high school, and the social signs are telling you the time has arrived to join the dating scene.  You’ve got better things to do, but when a boy surprises you with a clumsy but well-intended text asking you out, you give it consideration.  You don’t really know this kid, but you’re curious about dating and don’t want to be that forever alone person.  You accept.

You don’t hate dating, but it doesn’t really do much for you.  After a little while, you’ve more or less forgotten that there’s someone you call your boyfriend.  When someone makes a passing remark about your presumed sexual relations, you are shocked by the wave of revulsion that smacks into you at the very suggestion.  Never in a million years, you think vehemently, and then you marvel at how you managed to ‘date’ the same person for four months without the thought of sex with them ever crossing your mind.

He tries to kiss you.  You don’t want to.  You know this isn’t going to work out.  You break it off.

You feel relieved and liberated.

-

When you’re sixteen or so, you’re happily single.  You love your friends dearly, your best friend most of all.  You love her far more than you ever…well, you never really loved your ex.  You wonder if you might be gay for her, but you don’t want to kiss her or anything, just squish her in a big hug on a daily basis to let her know you love her and put a smile on her face.

You have a fleeting crush on a boy.  You get over it, thankful it never amounted to anything, because what were you thinking ew!  Then you have another one, similar but different, and thank goodness that never happened either because it would have been so awkward.  You start to wonder if you’re just not cut out for dating, or maybe you’re gay.  You don’t know how to feel about that.  It’d be so much simpler and easier if you were just normal.

-

When you’re seventeen or so, you make a new friend, a really pleasant guy.  You are just friends, and that is perfect.  It lasts about five months, and then one of your friends pulls him aside and hints heavily that he ought to ask you out.

He does.  You have no compunctions about saying yes, because you like him a lot, and he’s taking you to see the new Hobbit movie even though he’s not a fan and he had to watch twelve hours of movies in preparation for this date so that he’d be able to understand your interest.

You have a great time, and so does he.

About a month later, he kisses you.  It was your first kiss, exciting for the seventeen years of buildup and pleasant for having happened on acceptable terms with a more-than-acceptable person.

In the following months, neither of you brings up the topic of sex.  After all, you’re both to be found in the pews on Sunday mornings.  That’s fine by you.  More than fine, actually.  The idea of sex frightens you, which you attribute to your inexperience.  You would only ever consider attempting it with someone you really trusted, on level with a spouse.

-

When you’re eighteen or so, and at a sleepover, a girl cuddles casually with you as you talk in the hushed tones reserved for the hours after midnight.  She laments the lack of available girls at your school.

You mention that you would date a girl.  You instantly have everyone’s attention.

“Is there something you want to tell us?” your cuddle-buddy asks.

You say again that you’d date a girl.  Not now, of course, because you have a boyfriend, but yeah, you’d have no problem with it.  You probably wouldn’t sleep with a girl, but then you really don’t like the idea of sleeping with a boy either.  So you don’t really care about the configuration of genitals you don’t intend to see.  You just want the company of some lovely dork who will marathon Lord of the Rings with you and frequent the city’s best ice cream parlors.

Because your cuddle-buddy is a member of the queer community, she’s much more informed about sexualities and designations and spectrums than you are.  She suggests “panromantic asexual” and you understand both of those terms.  You’d seen them before, but never really thought you qualified.  Hearing her say it makes it somehow more concrete.

You accept that you are panromantic asexual.  You feel so light now that a couple of your closest friends know and accept you as you are.

You tell your mom a little while later on a whim.  You regret it because she doesn’t even bother listening to you and doesn’t respect your trust.  You hear her the next day telling your sister about how you said you might be a lesbian, and you’re so frustrated with her you want to hit something.

You decide not to tell anyone else.  Your dad is pretty homophobic—actually, that’d be most of the adults in your family—and you have no idea how your boyfriend would take it.  Your peers might not be welcoming or understanding—you just don’t know.  You realize that you are sort of in a closet.

You start a blog on Tumblr and blog about your problems #ace #asexual #lgbtqa

You spend way too much time on the internet, looking for the magical solution for coming out to the rest of your loved ones.  But since you don’t actually have any intention of coming out in the near future, you know you’re wasting your time.

Somehow your disinterest in sex has moved to occupy the forefront of your mind, not because it requires lots of attention in order to comprehend, but because it makes you different, and that is distracting.

One day, while you’re reading fanfiction, you come across an explicitly asexual character, and you realize that this is a first.  You cannot think of a single time in your entire life up to this point when you had seen an explicitly asexual character, and that surprises you.  Then it bothers you.  Maybe you could have avoided a couple years of uncertainty and anxiety if you had been able to identify in yourself the familiar characteristics of another asexual.

You realize you don’t know anyone else in your life who’s asexual.

That’s a sobering, isolating realization.

-

When you’re nineteen or so, you presumably go to college.  You start trying to navigate life with some semblance of independence.  You probably feel a little more secure in how you identify yourself.  You might even be all the way out of the closet.

Or at least that’s what eighteen-year-old you hopes.

Just date - Jeff Atkins x reader

Request:  Hi :) Can you do a Jeff imagine where the reader is Bestfriends with Clay and Jeff notices that and is jealous at first but then asks clay for advice on how to ask her out and he’s super nervous and scared. Can you make it really fluffy :) :)

He was not jealous. Really. He wasn’t thinking about break Clay’s neck. He was just a little… Fine, he was jealous. He just couldn’t help it.

He and Clay were at the library, stuying for his history class, it was going well until she showed up with her funny glasses and her stupid perfect smile. She just smiled at him and then started to talk with Clay about some kind of nerd movie. She was so excited, her eyes had that cute sparkle and her voice was so sweet. And then she put his hand in Clay’s shoulders.

Fuck, that feeling in his stomach wasn’t going away. And he was sure he was looking so stupid right now. She talked a little more and then left saying a gentle “Goodbye” to him.

“Jeff?” Clay asked “Are you okey?” Yep. He was still looking at the door.

“Are you two dating?” The words left his mouth before he had the time to think about it. Clay started to laugh. He asked again “Did I said something funny?”

“Yeah. Me and Y/N… that’s funny. She’s my best friend, since we were kids. I thought you knew” Well, that’s good. So good. The relief should have showed up in his face because Clay looked at him with a smile.

“What?”

“You like her?” Clay asked. He ignored the question and pretended to look at his book. “C’mon, Jeff. Do you like Y/N?”

“Maybe” Clay raised his eyebrows “Fine. Yes, I like Y/N. Since I was ten, actually. But she’s out of my league” Clay started to laugh really loud “What?”

“Jeff, are you crazy? Oh my god. Y/N talks about you like you are some kind of god. She has the biggest crush on you” His heart started to beat faster. Oh god. Y/N Y/L/N had a crush on him.

“Jensen” he said “If you’re playing with me I swear…”

“Yeah, yeah. You are gonna kick my ass” Clay responded “You have to ask her out, so I can stop listen about your pretty eyes”

“She says I have pretty eyes?” He couldn’t help but smile.

“The prettiest in the whole damn world” Clay said, rolling his eyes. “Now let’s go back to work”

——-

He was walking in the hallway when he noticed her, talking with Hannah Baker. Y/N was laughing with her. Damn, she looked perfect.

Fine, Clay said she was good in Chemistry he just had to ask her for help and then they will start to talk and eventually the will end up dating. Yup. That was the plan. Easy.

Hell, no. That wasn’t easy, he started to walk to them, with his heart going crazy. He was there, standing right next to them, without talking. He just froze.

“Hey, Jeff” Hannah was the first one who noticed. Y/N turned around, confused. She smiled at him.

“Hey, girls” he started. “Hannah, can I burrow your friend for a minute?” Hannah looked at him and then at Y/N.

“Sure” she smiled, walking away.

“How can I help you, Jeff?” Y/N asked, confused. Well, Jeff. It’s your time, he thought.

“Clay said you are good in chemistry and I was wondering if you, mhm, if you can, you know, help me?” Damn, his hands were shacking.

“Sure” she said gently. “No problem, when do you want to start?” He was screaming inside but trying to keep it cool.

“Are you free today?” she nodded. “Well, today after school? At Monet’s? I’m tired of the library”

“Yeah, me too. Monet’s then” the bell rang “I have to go, Jeff, but I’ll see you there” she smiled, starting to walk.

“Yeah, fine. It’s a date!” he was not suppose to said that “I mean, a study-date” she laughed in the middle of the hallway.

“Just date is fine for me” and then she entered to her class.

They had a “just date”.

Let me know if you liked it! English its not my first language so i hope its good

I want to be different for you. The ‘This is what I’ve been waiting for’ kind of different, the 'Why did I ever dare to settle when I could’ve had so much more’ kind of different, the 'You make me feel sure’ kind of different, the 'I’ve bottled myself up for so long but you make me wanna just pour’ kind of different. I want to be the reason you smile until your cheeks hurt. I want to be the kind of person you’d feel safe coming to for comfort. I want to be the one that makes you really laugh out loud, the kind of person that makes you see the sun when you’d usually just see clouds. And I know that it probably makes no sense to you right now. That’s okay, I get it. I know how you’ve been treated, but I promise if you give me the chance, I’ll love you correctly with no room for worry. Please, let me be different.

anonymous asked:

You are the first and only writer I have read for this fandom. I love your work so much, I've re read all your Arrow stories twice (even the Firefly one even though I've never watched it). Do you have any favorite Olicity fics to recommend to keep me from going crazy my first hiatus? (I binged the first 4 seasons last year)

This is awesome!! Thank you! I’m super honored. And do I have recs? Oh yes, I have recs.

First rec isn’t actually a fic, it’s a resource… @theolicitylibrary. If you want recs, they’ve got ‘em. If you want a specific trope or rating or genre, they’ve got that, too. Have a hankering for a fic where Oliver and Felicity are business rivals? There’s a link for that. Where she’s the vigilante instead? There’s a link for that, too. Where one of them is a werewolf? Yup. They’re an amazing resource and you can lose days (and weeks and months) going through lists of alpha/omega tropes and rockstar AUs and friends-to-lovers fics.

But more specifically… how about I rec some authors, too? I haven’t been reading much lately - I spend all my time writing - so I’m more comfortable reccing authors I know are amazing and whose works I’m looking forward to catching up on. They’re all consistently excellent. This is by no means an all inclusive list.

@dust2dust34 - My co-writer for FiCoN and personal fav (though I admit to no small amount of bias). If you want smut and you want details and mining a scene for feelings, Bre is your girl. She has plenty of oneshots to choose from as well as some multichapter fics.

@machawicket - Look, I can’t overstate Danielle’s skills as a writer. My husband doesn’t even read my fic but he likes hers. Her writing is funny, sweet, sexy and heartbreaking in turn but it’ll never leave you unsatisfied. She’s a master.

@anthfan - Nikki is one of those writers that’s so good she makes you forget you’re reading a story, because it’s just something you’re living. It’s an experience. Her characterization is spot-on and her plots are super engaging. She writes both one-shots and longer stories. They’re all worth your time.

@hannasus - Susannah’s writing is the perfect balance of detailed exposition and tight narrative that lets you feel like you’ve experienced the whole setting in just a few lines. Add to that fully in-character characterization and interesting plots that keep you reading and you really can’t go wrong. I recommend reading her Something Like Fate series ASAP as she’s adapted it into the basis for an original novel (which she’s publishing later this year) and it may not be up on AO3 a whole lot longer.

@rosietwiggs - I can always tell Rosie’s work in just a few lines. Her narrative voice is so very distinctive and so gripping that it pulls me in effortlessly. I don’t believe she’s writing for Arrow anymore, but even her unfinished works are worth a read. I especially recommend The New Normal, Lengths and How The Mighty Fall In Love.

@supersillyanddorky06 - I’d be surprised if you hadn’t heard around about Matty’s writing because she’s right at the core of the Olicity fandom’s best known fanfics. With good reason. She’s prolific, plotty, smutty and evocative. If you have a weakness for Bratva!Oliver, I’d start here.

@jsevick - I first met Jaimie after reading her Jurassic Park AU (really!) and being both delighted and amazed that she could make it work. I’m extremely lucky to have had her help as my beta pretty much ever since. If you like my writing, she’s a big part of it (along with @alizziebyanyothername). While she hasn’t posted in a while, her stories are just fun and if you like Gilmore Girls, her Arrow AU for Gilmore Girls is a treat!

@realityisoverrated-fic - I have no idea how you would feel about Smoaking Billionaires, Anon (I personally love it), but I’ve got to very highly recommend her Infinite Love series. At 110 parts and counting, it deals extensively with Oliver, Felicity and Tommy’s family longterm, including their kids. It’s alternately hot, sweet, and heartbreaking. But, most of all, it’s just well-written and interesting. If you’re willing to read them as a triad, I cannot recommend this strongly enough.

@geneeste - I would pay for more of Caught a Long Wind. Quite literally. But, that aside, Genie is a top notch writer. Whether her one-shots, WiPs or brilliant, ongoing epic co-written work with @machawicket, everything she writes should be devoured.

@juliesioux - Julie uses the setting in a story as another character. There’s so much life to the world she puts her characters in that it practically breathes. Above that, she doesn’t shy away from hard topics. She will rush in head-first and dig deep to explore what her characters are going through. When you read her work, take her warnings seriously, but if you’re looking for a rich story to read that challenges you, she’s the perfect option to turn to.

@thatmasquedgirl - One of the most prolific Olicity fic authors (with 110 fics, including the absolute opus Technical Assistance). She’s consistently excellent, creative and she gives us as a fandom a whole lot to read. You can probably spent a huge chunk of hiatus happily buried in her work.

@entersomethingcleverhere - As a rule, I do not read first person stories. Not even when they’re published books sitting on shelves at my bookstore. I will break that rule for her writing. I like it that much. It’s heartfelt, moving, well-paced, and the connections between her characters are both real and evolving as you go.

@arrow-through-my-writers-block - Shelby is… well, she’s just fun! She’s a solid writer who never disappoints. She’s got quite a few one-shots and a few ongoing multi-chapters. She’s probably best known for Starstruck, but all of her work is worth reading.

@wagamiller - I just really love wagamiller’s work. Like a lot. There are very few authors I have on alert, but wagamiller is. Stories that make me laugh out loud are few and far between, but the 35B series surely did (as did @machawicket‘s Unbearable Hotness of Being, btw). Strong, sharp, witty writing that will leave you with a grin on your face.

@callistawolf - When I think of Callie’s work, I think of the fanfic version of sitting down with some hot cocoa and curling up with a warm blanket to watch a Hallmark Christmas special. She’s consistently excellent about finishing her work, which is lovely, and you can pretty much always count on a feel-good romantic ending.

@hopedreamlovepray - Writing one-shots that stick with your reader is hard. Keeping a story to 1-2k and still being impactful is even harder. She absolutely manages it every time. Hope27 (as she’s known on AO3, so you can find her) has something like a hundred Olicity fics. These are, in my opinion, absolutely perfect if you want to lose yourself in a story on the train to work or during your lunch hour.

@dettiot - Mel has a lot of great stories (like really great). My favorite is probably the “ink in my pen ran dry” series, but that’s a really tough call. Core Curriculum is super hot. The Felicity Stark series (crossover with Avengers-verse) is brilliant and fun and made me giddy while reading it. Beauty in the Breakdown is excellent. Jerry the EA series features one of the best takes on a relative OC I’ve read in fics. Love is Red made me squeal like a teenager with excitement (I’m not ashamed; it was warranted). And Two Men, Same Name (written with @melsanfo) is one of those that I am absolutely dying for the time to catch up on. While I’m at it, let’s rec Mel Sanfo, too. Her Masquerade is another novel-length fic absolutely worth a read. You really can’t go wrong with either of these ladies.

@ash818 - Ash is freaking awesome. So, here’s the thing. Her Legacy series is mind-blowingly good. I have to admit, I’ve only read The Man Under The Hood in the series (this is intentional, for a reason you’ll see in a moment, but you need to read all of her work ASAP, okay? You do). This series… you’ve got future, married Olicity with teenage children as they continue their mission. There’s action, plot, heartbreak, angst, love, everything you could want. It’s in first person from their son’s perspective which is something I would probably never have clicked on in the first place had it not come highly recommended, but good lord is it amazing. All of her characters have life. All of them have depth. Her OCs are fully formed and vital to the story without overshadowing characters you already know. I haven’t read the later stories because after I decided to continue on with FiCoN verse, I didn’t want to inadvertently shade my views on Olicity’s growing family and continuing mission with anything she did in her series. If anything I do happens to run parallel to her work, I want to know beyond any doubt that it’s 100% coincidence. But her stories are something I’m absolutely itching to get to read… eventually. Her writing is excellent.

@tinaday3w - I’m tempted to say “JUST READ IT” but that’s probably not enough… But really, just read it. No one does slow burn like Tina. Victorian era AU with pirate!Oliver? Yes, please. Hello. I’ll take two.

@emmilynestill - She’s just so good. And sooooo hot. I don’t know if you know this, Anon, but writing a good sex scene is hard. You don’t want your reader pulled out of the scene by wondering if a position is actually possible or when underwear came off (or if it did) or how gravity isn’t making them collapse. Like… smut is difficult. But it reads so effortlessly with Emmilyne’s writing. And, beyond that, she weaves it in beautifully with plot that keeps you wondering what’s next and emotion that builds and grows in an organic way. Orgasms and organic feelings. Honestly, what else could anyone really want?

@ruwithmeguys - Jess will gut you and leave you asking her to do it again. Indecent Proposal… just… read the warnings and be ready and read it with a lot of time on your hands and probably in chunks because ouch. But still… read it.

@academyofshipping - Sarah has this dry sense of humor that comes out in her fics that’s as clever as it is fun. Fluffy, funny, smart, cute and rich with feeling, Sarah’s writing is consistently strong.

@someonesaidcake - Felice is fantastic for completed, multichapter AU fics. She has quite a few and I’m pretty sure every single one included smut at some point (if that’s your thing) as well as plot.

And… I’ve spent like an hour and a half on this which was a lovely diversion for my day. I know I’m forgetting amazing people but I have to stop here. When in doubt, take the title of a fic you like, google that name in quotes along with “rec list” and find someone’s list where that story was included, then explore the others. Or, check the bookmarks on AO3 of an author you like, that’s a great place to mine for fics, too. And, again, I can’t rec @theolicitylibrary enough. That said… happy reading, Anon! We’ll get through this hiatus together… through fic and sheer force of will. ;-)

hystriahaze  asked:

Where did Magnus, Taako, and Merle, get the name Tres Horny Boys??????????

Justin said a thing. The others liked it. It stuck.

Griffin: You wake up. And you’re not dead. Anymore.

Justin: Hooray!

Travis: Yay, we did it!

Griffin: If you were dead, you were dead for just a bit. Just a second. But you’ve woken up from that white space and you are laying on the ground, and when you look up, there’s Refuge. And it’s undestroyed.

Travis: We did it! [Clint laughs]

Griffin: You did, in a very circuitous way, I guess, save the town. Um, but-

Travis: Another victory for the - oh, we don’t have a cool nickname, do we?

Clint: We really need a cool nickname.

Travis: Yeah.

Griffin: I also don’t think “another” works.

Travis: What about The Thrifty Three?

Griffin: That doesn’t make any sense.

Justin: Tres Horny Boys.

Travis: Yeah!

Griffin: Tres Horny Boys.

Justin: No one say that out loud ever again, please.

Clint: Tres Horny Boys, you don’t want to say that out loud again?

Griffin: Well, that’s unfortunate, Justin. Everything you say on this show becomes canon. Tres Horny Boys, you’ve woken up and there’s Refuge, it’s not destroyed.

Copycat AU

MariChat May 31st: CopyCat

Summary: Marinette has a phone stealing problem and Chat confronts her about it.

Marinette stood, phone in hand, in the boys’ locker room. “I can explain!” She blurted out.

Chat Noir stared at her.

She rushed to explain. “So, I recorded a really embarrassing voicemail right?” She gestured to the phone in her hand. “Alya said I should get it and delete it!” She said, he gave her an unimpressed look for selling out her friend.  She switched tactics to pleading. “Look, just… let me delete it. Please?” She looked at him imploringly. “Adrien, he’ll hate me if he hears it. So…” Marinette drooped. “Please?”

Chat blinked in surprise. “That’s M-Adrien Agreste’s phone?”

She nodded, a little bit of hope welling in her. “Yeah, he’s a friend and classmate of mine.” She looked at him and panicked. “I swear I’m not some fangirl or anything!”

He shook his head. “I know Marinette.” He considered her. “You shouldn’t have taken that from his locker.”

Marinette looked down at the ground in shame. “I know.” She said meekly.

“Look, Marinette, you’re a good person. Put the phone back in his locker and I won’t say anything. You can apologize for the voicemail later. He’ll forgive you.”

“How do you know that?” She asked quietly.

Chat frowned. “He’s got you for a friend right? Can’t be that bad of a guy.”

Marinette frowned back at him. “Of course he’s not a bad guy! He’s one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met!” She said hotly.

Chat smiled widely. “Then he won’t hate you for such a small thing, right?”

Marinette’s anger deflated. “Right.” She muttered and then blinked. “Right, Adrien would never hate someone for something so small.” She smiled.

She padded over to Adrien’s locker and hesitated for only a moment before putting the phone in and shutting it.

She turned to Chat. “So, what are you doing in here?” She looked at him suspiciously.

Chat gained a look of panic on his face and quickly looked at his wrist. “Oh my God! Look at the time gotta go bye Princess see you later!” The door slammed as he quickly left.

Marinette stared after him in confusion and Tikki came to float up next to her. “I think we need to go too, Marinette.” Tikki pointed a paw at the door.

“Right Tikki, let’s go home.” Marinette nodded. She’d have to think about Chat’s odd behavior once she got home.

Instead, she forgot all about it when they had to deal with an akuma.

After Marinette had dealt with Copycat she had headed home with a cloud of dread hanging over her. By now Adrien had no doubt heard her voicemail. She knew Chat was right about him not hating her, but he could definitely still reject her. Tikki assured her that rejection was a rather reasonable worst case scenario.

She spent the evening with her phone in hand. She compulsively checked her messages for any response and kept the volume on high just in case he called.

An hour after she normally went to bed Tikki had intervened and forced her to bed. “Just take the phone with you!” Tikki added. An hour or two of sitting in her bed and staring at her phone caused her Kwami to intervene again. “He’s probably already asleep and planning to talk to you in the morning.” She plucked the phone out of Marinette’s hands amid her tired protests. “Go. To. Sleep. Marinette.”

“Thanks for looking out for me.” She murmured as she fell asleep.

Fun fact, Marinette was not a morning person. For the first time this was actually a good thing as she had completely forgotten about her problems from the day before. It wasn’t until she was running into class, late again, that she locked eyes with Adrien and found her panic returning.

Adrien smiled angelically at her in greeting. She tried to smile back, but it was more of a grimace than anything else.

She sat down and resolved not to worry about Adrien’s reaction to her voicemail. He hadn’t mentioned it so maybe he deleted it before listening to it. She crossed her fingers and then focused on her teacher.

School went by quickly as she, for once, payed complete attention in all of her classes. She tried her best not to think about the voicemail and by the time class was ending she was starting to believe Adrien really hadn’t listened to it.

You know, until he turned around in his seat and asked if they could talk.

She told Alya she was going to stay for a minute and the girl gave her a comforting pat on the back. She supposed Alya was concerned because she could see the distress on her face. She told Alya it would be fine. She knew that Adrien didn’t hate her and that would have to be enough. Even if he did reject her.

Once everyone had left Adrien hopped over her and Alya’s desk. He leaned against the edge of the desk and turned his head towards her.

“So amazing.” She murmured. His eyes widened and his cheeks reddened. She blinked. “Did I say that out loud?” She squeaked out.

He laughed softly. “Yes Marinette, and thank you.” He grinned at her.

She shifted in her seat and turned to stare at her desk. It was really hard to look directly at him when he laughed and impossible when he grinned. Like looking into the sun.

“You… got my voicemail then?” She asked. Her voice was shaking and she didn’t even know how she was managing full sentences.

He nodded and beamed at her. “I didn’t know you felt that way about me, Marinette.”

She flushed all the way to the roots of her hair. “I-I um.”

“I’m really flattered.” He added his smile not dimming an inch.

Her heart slowly fell. “Your welcome.” She said softly. He really was too kind, rejecting her in such a nice way.

He brought his hand up to the back of his neck and scratched nervously. “So then,” He cleared his throat. “Do you want to go to the cinema Friday night?” He gave her a hopeful smile.

She stared at him in shock. She hadn’t planned for the best case scenario. “Like a date?” She held her breath until he nodded. “Yes! Of course I’d love to! When is the movie? Where do you want to meet? Do you want to meet my-”

“Marinette.” He cut her off gently and her mouth slammed shut. “How about we text about all that stuff later. If I don’t go soon my father will have at me.” He chuckled.

Marinette nodded rapidly. “Of course. Whatever you want, Adrien.”

After they had exchanged phone numbers and Adrien had left Marinette found herself slowly walking home with a goofy grin on her face. The grin didn’t fade even a bit as she did her homework and chores.

She finally got a hold of herself when Chat knocked lightly on the hatch to her room. She let him in and soon they were sharing a couple of cookies she had brought up for Tikki.

“Thanks for not telling Adrien about the phone thing.” She said gratefully. She took a bite from her cookie

Chat actually chuckled at that, a few crumbs falling from his mouth. “Not a problem.” He smirked. “Considering the look on your face I’m assuming Adrien wasn’t angry about the voicemail.”

She nodded the goofy grin taking up her whole face once more. “I can’t believe he asked me out.” The grin dropped off her face. “Oh no! What am I going to wear?” She was about to go into a panic when she heard Chat laugh.

She turned to him and pouted. “What’s so funny?”

He shook with laugher before smiling at her. “I think you’re cute and I’m sure whatever you’ll wear he’ll think so too.”

She blushed. “Um, thanks?” She couldn’t help but imitate Adrien from early by scratching at the back of her own neck in embarrassment.

Chat smiled. “No need to thank me. Just, can you do me one favor?” She nodded. He seemed almost nervous. “Try your best to have fun, okay?” He implored.

She smiled. “Of course. It’s Adrien after all.”

He flushed at her words and then smiled. “I got to get going.” He said and grabbed one last cookie. “Good luck with your date.” He said genuinely.

She grinned happily at him. “Thanks, I’m going to need it.”

He shook his head. “You’ll do fine.” He said confidently. “Thanks for the cookies!” He said as he left.

She waved goodbye and sighed. “Right.” She looked at her desk. “I have three days to make a sundress.” She cracked her knuckled with a smirk. “Let’s get to work.”

Tikki sighed form her hiding space. “Adrien won’t know what hit him.” She shook her tiny head and glanced at the hatch Chat had just left through. “Or maybe he will.” She smiled secretly.

Tikki looked down. “Wait. What happened to my cookies?!” She wailed.

Marinette looked at her apologetically. “Sorry, me and Chat ate them.”

Tikki fell face down onto the plate and moaned. “Noooooooooooo.” She groaned.

Marinette shook her head and smiled. She’d have to go get Tikki some more cookies soon. Chat had really enjoyed them as well. Maybe she should try to get him to come back for some more?

Humming happily at the idea, Marinette returned to sketching out the beginning of her dress.

ive said this a million times but finn is a much better child protagonist, because unlike steven, he grows and develops over time. the writers seem to  acknowledge that the environment that he’s in and the situations he take part in (specifically his desire to have a girlfriend, his father issues and coping with the fact that he’s the only human) affect how he grows up.

literally the only reason i struggle to see steven as 14 isnt because he looks 8, but because almost nothing about him has changed to show growth. sure he has spouts of anger and gets introspective, but season 1 steven was exactly like that. the writers still want to make him oblivious and dumb and yet also the voice of reason and apparently the smartest character in the show.

steven’s character regression is so baffling because really did start off as a youn kid with a lot of promise but the writers can’t let him… grow up.

i laughed out loud when lars told steven “when did you get so smart” because literally nothing steven said was deep or profound. he basically said what any person with common sense would say, “go do what you love, and if people hate it, that’s their problem”.

i talk about steven a lot on this blog because the writers seem to demand for its older audience to be impressed by the “growth” and “development” steven went through. but every episode that implies steven will slowly change as a character always ends up completely dropping it.

and yet, because these writers are too incompetent, seemed to have completely given up on making steven heroic and just have characters stand around talking about how great he is.

adventure time never needed to tell us that finn was growing, we could see that. based off of how he reacted, based his own self reflection, self issues, flaws, behavior, etc.

steven changes but only when the narrative wants him to. he says something encouraging to lars and the narrative acts like he really said something eye-opening. he’ll act foolish and immediately trust navy, but then show fear and discomfort when jasper claims that she changed. he’ll suddenly struggle with self doubt and feeling useless, and yet never display this problem in any other area.  steven suddenly decides to sit watch a gem nearly get killed, simply because it was a chance for lars to come to their aid.

the worst example is how steven and finn react to finding out that they’re characters are the opposite of what they expected

finn being shocked that martin was a shit dad was a straight up punch to the gut. all that praise and build up finn had for his family and he finds out that his father wants nothing to do with him. this doesnt leave him and continues to affect him in later episodes, where he needed support to help vent his problems

steven’s reaction is just… all over the place

he’ll totally be complacent with the gems stating that the CG’s killed homeworld gems and then act surprised that his mother was actually a killer and then accepts that she was in the right and then later calls her out on her hypocrisy and then suddenly decides he desperately wants to be just like her and…… do you see where im going with this?

lars’s 4 episodes of development, despite having a few problems, is miles better than steven’s sad excuse for character development the writers badly want me to praise and acknowledge.

i dont watch steven grow, i watch him get new character traits that the writers slap on to him for the sake of telling a story

its not fun to watch a character flip flop and slowly lose and identity simply because the writers cant give steven flaws, and the only supposed flaws he does have are simply a result of the writers incompetence, which make poor ‘ol steven look lazy, selfish and a huge hypocrite

In honor of H’s 23 birthday, enjoy this little one shot! :)

Plot: What to get to the man who has everything?

Warnings: None.

Three weeks to H’s Birthday:

“Baby,” Harry groaned exasperation. His eyes rolled back and he let his head drop for a moment, appearing to be completely and utterly done with the subject I had been bugging him with for a few hours now as well as over the past days.

Harry’s birthday present.

And still, he was being close to no help. His eyes met mine and I whined, wanting him to take me seriously, because even though we (admittedly) had been discussing this topic a bit too long now, he somehow still didn’t understand my point.
Birthdays were something I took very seriously, especially Harry’s. It was the first time for me to celebrate his birthday with him given that our relationship was only a few months old and all I wanted was him to be showered with love and spoiled silly. I wanted to make him happy.
Planning his day wasn’t the problem, it was easy. I would spend the night before with him, mainly so I could make sure him being spoiled would start early in the morning already (breakfast in bed, maybe some sex) but most of all I wanted to stay with him because I knew how Harry didn’t like having to sleep and wake up alone. It made my heart ache a little bit and fall even more in love with his sensitive and gentle soul and so I liked the idea of him not having to do that on his birthday, too.
Later, we would have lunch with his mother, sister and step-father so we would be able to exchange gifts quietly and just in the presence of his immediate family. Harry absolutely adored them and I knew he’d love being able to be with just his family for a while, before his friends would join us for a dinner at his favorite restaurant. It was a simple plan and wouldn’t entail too many surprises for him, but I knew that would be what Harry enjoyed most. All of his life was always extravagant and a big deal, so I imagined him having simple family time would be just what he’d need.
What had been giving me a headache for a while now was the most difficult question I’d ever had to ask myself. What makes a good present to a person who could buy the world?

“You are so difficult sometimes,” I argued quietly, nudging Harry’s hip with my own.

We were standing in my tiny kitchen and cooking dinner together, well, less cooking and more arguing about his upcoming birthday. The pans were still empty and the table wasn’t set either. Three weeks. I had three weeks left to get him the perfect present and I was absolutely clueless.

Harry laughed. “Says the one who’s been worrying herself silly over a present for a birthday who’s almost a month away.”

I rolled my eyes. “Maybe I just shouldn’t get you anything then. If I’m just being silly.”

My body turned and I went to reach for two wine glasses, almost dropping them when Harry startled me by wrapping both of his arms around my waist. His chest hit my back and I squealed when his head buried itself into my neck, releasing puffs of hot breath, making me squeal.

“You wouldn’t do that,” he murmured quietly, sounding like a little boy who’d been denied… well, his birthday present.

“Oh wouldn’t I, Styles?” I giggled, squeezing his wrists through the thick material of his grey jumper.

He shook his head, lips ghosting over my skin and I relaxed into him. “Don’t think you would.”

And of course I wouldn’t. But I really was lost. In my imagination, I could see his face lighting up with that beautiful smile of his and his pretty eyes would sparkle in surprise and happiness. I wanted that image to be reality, had seen him wear the expression on other occasions before and I wanted to be the reason why he wore it on his birthday. And the one bloody thing needed for that to happen was missing. An idea.

Two weeks to H’s Birthday:

In my desperate situation I’d called up the only person I could think of, who knew Harry better than anybody else did. His mother. Anne and I were sat in a small cafe just around the corner of where Harry lived. I held my mug of hot chocolate tightly and listened eagerly to the stories Anne had to tell, all of them involving a much younger version of Harry. Anne waved her hands in the air, mimicking Harry’s desperate attempt of rollerblading and I laughed out loud.

“He sounds like he was an incredibly clumsy child,” I giggled.

“Oh he was,” Anne smiled with a nod, “Still is, really. You’ve seen how he used to stumble around on stage. Even broke his foot once, the silly boy.”

“Oh right, I forgot about that!”

Anne chuckled and kindly offered me some of her cookie, which I happily accepted.

“So,” she began, handing me a piece of her desert, “I’m sure there’s a other reason behind you summoning me, other then hearing stories you can mock my son with later.”

I laughed gently and nodded. “Though, I could listed to those stories all day, I did call because I have a problem I was hoping you could help me with.”

A small frown took over Anne’s kind features and she set down her cup. “What’s wrong?”

“It’s nothing too serious,” I quickly assured, not wanting her to worry, “It’s going to sound silly to you, I’m sure. But I just can’t come up with a good idea for a gift for Harry.”

My eyes met hers and I sensed that she was about to ask if I was kidding, because of course it sounded stupid to anyone else, and so I carried on quickly.

“His birthday, is coming closer and closer and I can’t figure out what to get him! That man has everything and if he doesn’t, then he buys it the next day. And even when I finally find something he hasn’t seen before but would love, it costs so much more than what I have! It’s so frustrating ‘cause all I want is to make him happy and surprise him with something nice but I can’t even get him something as simple as clothing! He came around with a cardigan just yesterday that cost £5000! I don’t even own anything that expensive! That piece of clothing he loves, is worth two months of my rent.”

Anne bit her lower lip, her expression serious again and I sighed. I felt so whiny and like an uncreative child, but I really was at my wit’s end.

“It’s the first birthday I get to spend with him and I’m going to fail him completely.”

My eyes lowered to my mug and I tapped the porcelain lightly, feeling defeated.

“Sweetheart,” Anne said kindly, “Harry will love whatever it is you get him. He adores you.”

A small smiled tugged at my lips and I blushed at her words. “I don’t want him to like it simply 'cause it’s from me, though.”

I raised the cup of chocolate to my lips and took a sip, then decided to just come clean with my greatest worry.

“The women he’s been with before me,” I began quietly, avoiding Anne’s patient gaze, “were rich enough to get him the world. What if he realizes that I’m just not… I don’t know. Suitable for his standards?”

The worry sounded stupid when it’d come to my mind the first time, but it’d stayed. Kendall Jenner, the last girl Harry had been involved with before me, was probably just as, if not even richer than he was himself. Same counted for Taylor Swift. They could go wherever he wanted to go, dress just as expensively and rent entire venues for him to host his party. Me? I had to scrap anything I had together every single month so I could afford my tiny apartment in London. Harry of course was aware that I couldn’t afford the same lifestyle as he had, but sometimes, especially when he came around with a £5000 cardigan, I wondered if he was aware how much money he actually had compared to what ordinary people earned.
When I dared looking at Anne again, she surprised me by wearing a bright smile. Both of her hands reached over the table and she took hold of my own, squeezing my fingers in a comforting gesture.

“Him thinking you aren’t suitable for him is absolutely and a hundred percent impossible, Y/N. Believe me.”

“You think so?” I asked timidly.

She nodded, still smiling confidently.

“The women Harry was with in the past,” she shook her head, pausing for a moment, then she continued, “were lovely, sure. But they never stayed around long. They never mattered to him as much as you do. He never brought one home, only introduced them casually over a dinner or sometimes not at all. Trust me, sweetheart, you are the first one he’s let get close to his heart and I can see it every day. You might not notice it because you’ve never seen him without it, but since you’re in his life, there’s an extra sparkle in his eyes and his smile is just a tiny little bit wider. He told me he’s been getting more sleep and that he even learned how to cook. That’s your influence on him, I know that. You’re taking care of him and that means the world. So trust me on this, you give him enough of what he couldn’t get himself every day. No birthday present could ever make you a failure to him.”

“Oh, Anne,” I almost squealed, blinking away the tears forming in my eyes. I squeezed her fingers in return and sniffled, trying to calm my rapidly beating heart.

She squeezed my hands once more and just like her son, her comforting aura was enough to ease me.

“And besides,” she continued in a giggle, “if he thinks I’m getting him anything even remotely close to £5000, he’s gone mad.”

H’s Birthday:

My lips lingered on the warm skin of Harry’s cheek and I giggled when I felt his smile beneath my lips. Harry’s hand found mine on his knee and he interlocked our fingers, humming quietly in appreciation. I could hear Gemma snicker at our interaction and I pressed another kiss to his jaw, then I withdrew. Harry’s eyes found mine and I could read his surprise in them. Normally I wasn’t as touchy feely with him when his family was around, but today I couldn’t help myself. My Harry was officially 23 years old. I couldn’t believe it.
We were sat on the couch in Harry’s living room, Gemma, Anne, Robing, Harry and me. There was cake and coffee on the small table along with the presents we’d bought for him. So far, the day had gone neatly and after the chat I had had with Anne, I felt confident about my choice of present, too.
Harry seemed so happy, relaxed and like he was enjoying himself. Just like I had intended to do, I’d been showering him with love all day long, waking him up with kisses and embracing him every few minutes. For breakfast I’d made him pancakes, bacon and eggs, making sure that the only healthy thing he got was a smoothie. And the sex well, had been mind-blowing.
I squeezed Harry’s fingers tightly and blushed when he pressed his lips to my own cheek for a moment, as he wasn’t too much into PDA himself either, then he turned to engage in the conversation his family was leading.

“Harry,” Robing began, “I know you’re not a kid anymore, but do you want me to initiate that it’s time for you to get your presents?”

“That would be great,” Harry laughed, letting his arm rest around my waist in a loose hold.

I smiled at him lovingly and felt my stomach flutter when Harry pulled me even closer into his side, sharing his warmth with me. How did he always smell so good?
The first present he opened was Gemma’s. He let go of me and got up to hug her in thanks and joked about how it was the exact same thing he’d been thinking of getting her only weeks ago and she giggled, muttering a “liar” under her breath. Next came Anne and Robin’s present, then came mine. My fingers itched and I swallowed. Though I wasn’t worried about Harry not liking my present, I was very eager to see the excited expression on his face.

“S'big,” Harry said, giving me an impressed glance when he picked up the box I’d wrapped neatly with blue wrapping paper.

He carefully began to pull at it with care as if the paper wasn’t actually meant to be ripped apart and I giggled, resting one of my hands on his shoulder to squeeze it. He was so adorable.
Once finished, he began to tap the cartoon box as if expecting a noise and I giggled at his comedic and silly behavior. Anne shook her head at him but the smile plastered on her face was a big enough sign that she was just as delighted to be here with her son as I was. With careful fingers Harry continued to open the box and my heart squeezed when he smiled instantly.
Since I hadn’t been able to decide on one present for him, I’d gotten him several.
The first item Harry revealed was a bottle of massage oil, his favorite with the soft smell of almond mixed with vanilla. I’d remembered the many evenings where I’d found him on his couch, face a grimace of pain and exhaustion where he claimed nothing could ease and soothe him better than my fingers massaging his tense muscles. Though I was tired on most night when I came home after a long day, I’d always given in. Seeing Harry unhappy was enough of a persuasion to make me help him.

“For when your back is acting up again,” I murmured quietly, allowing my hand to run down Harry’s back in a soothing gesture, “Won’t even complain about it, I promise.”

He chuckled and nodded, setting the bottle to the side before sticking his hand back into the box in search for the next item I’d gotten him.

“Oh I wanted to get that one myself!” Gemma exclaimed when Harry held up the navy blue nail polish.

“Do you think I can pull this color off?” Harry asked me, a smile on his face. “S'a bit flashy, don’t you think?”

“It’s blue, Harry,” I laughed, “Pink would be flashy. And of course you and pull this off. There’s nothing you couldn’t, really.”

The next and last item Harry pulled out of the box was a small journal, similar to the one he already owned.

“I saw yours is almost full,” I explained when Harry smiled at the new journal.

It had the same leather cover as his other one did and since he’d decorated it with small stickers and words, I’d allowed myself to leave my own small message to him. A tiny inscription saying you’re my favorite right at the bottom of the right corner. I’d scraped it into the leather, making it a permanent decoration so he’d have something to remind him of me when we were forced to be apart.

Harry actually blushed when his thumb stroke over the words and he momentarily leaned into my side. My heart hammered in my chest.

“Open it,” I whispered quietly.

He glanced at me briefly, then he opened it slowly. At first he didn’t see it, but once he turned some of the pages he noticed that some of them were already used. And once he began to read what I’d written, he teared up. The grin on his face grew, revealing his loveably dimples and his widened.

“Y/N,” Harry sighed and shook his head.

His fingers kept on running over the paper and he swallowed visibly. He looked as if he found it difficult to believe what his eyes were reading and one of his hands found mine.

“What?” Anne asked, leaning up so she could catch a peek as well.

“They’re just some notes about us,” I explained.

But they weren’t really, not just some notes. I’d filled the pages with small texts and short sentences, all of them about Harry and me. They were tiny stories about us, remembering our first kiss, the one we’d shared standing on Jack’s balcony while all of our friends were celebrating and partying indoors. The second paragraph I wrote about how I’d felt when I’d first met Harry, how excited I’d been and how I hadn’t stopped thinking of him since then. I even admitted that I’d fallen a tiny bit in love with him already.
Harry’s eyes were still teary when he read a few more pages, then he closed the book.

“I love it.”

The words were whispered to the journal, his head held low. His hands clenched around the item and he sniffled noisily. My fingers squeezed his hand and I pressed another kiss to his arm. This was better than having wearing a wide grin. The present, one that I’d gotten him for a reasonable price, had actually made him speechless.

“I’m glad, Harry,” I giggled.

Hope you enjoyed it! Thank you to every single one of you who takes the time to read my one shots! I’m so excited and happy about every note I get.

Taking AP Chemistry was both the best and the worst. I do enjoy it, but it really is too much work sometimes, just like now. We were told to make a research paper and I thought that I could use my free period to get started, so I went directly to the library.

I picked up a few Chemistry books and made my way to the large table at the back of the library, away from all the students. I liked my alone time. As I turned page after page, a tall figure pulled the empty chair in front of me and rested his backpack on top of the table. I looked up from my paper and see Monty, who had his face buried in his folded arms, while his head rested on his backpack. He was sleeping.

“Hey. Wake up.” I whisper at him and he doesn’t move.

“Wake up, we’re not allowed to sleep here!” I whisper once again and he still doesn’t budge.

“This is a no-sleeping area! I’m going to get in trouble because of you!” I whisper-yell at him and kick his shin and he jumps up with an irritated look on his face as he furrowed his eyebrows at me.

“Mind your own business will you?!” He snarls at me and I huff in annoyance.

“If you want to sleep, then sleep somewhere else. Don’t do it here, I don’t want to get in trouble when you get caught.” I reply.

“Why do you think I chose to sleep here? The librarian can’t see. Dumb dumb.” He says and I was caught speechless by his remark. A little hurt, if I were to be honest.

I shut my mouth and let out one last sigh to express my shock and disgust at his behavior. I just can’t wrap my head around him. One minute he’s as sweet as candy, and the next minute he’s just plain mean and arrogant. It has always been like this with Monty. He’s like Marmite, you either love him, or you hate him and I don’t exactly know where I stand just yet.

I continue writing my Chemistry paper, and once and a while I’d find myself stopping to take a look at the guy sleeping in front of me. He looked so vulnerable like that; his ears turning red, probably from the heat in the library. It was a hot day, and the air conditioning in the library wasn’t on full blast. Beads of sweat were forming on his forehead, his nose twitching from time to time, probably because of a dream. His pink, plump lips were slightly apart as warm breath escaped his lips.

The sound of the bell awakened both him and I as we jump back into reality. He got up, swung his backpack on his right shoulder and proceeded to walk out of the library on his own. He didn’t even have the decency to wait for me as I placed my notebooks inside my bag. I shook my head and continued to walk out of the library.
