i propose the design

So, a Water Tribe Betrothal Necklace is, traditionally, a hand-carved piece of jewelry given by a bride-to-be’s intended. It’s clear that a very traditional theme to have is a sense of roundness. This is shown by the first four necklaces shown.

The bottom two, Bolin’s, and Kya’s, differ highly from this, making them non-traditional. Now Bolin’s makes sense in the context we’re given from the show. Eska was shown to be slightly deranged and didn’t understand that Bolin wanted to get out of their relationship. The heavy-gothic themes help to show the dread, despair, and chain-like quality Bolin must feel. Despite this though, it still features a somewhat-round centerpiece like the traditional necklaces do.

But, Kya’s is also different. We found out via Word of God that Kya is LGBTA+. If she’s wearing a necklace, does this mean that her (assumed) wife carved it for her? Did Kya carve out one similarly for her wife?

I like to assume that the design Kya wears also symbolizes how her relationship is non-traditional, just as her necklace is.

Also don’t picture Korra and/or Asami carving and giving the other a necklace.

Hey! It’s y’boy Jax!

As is the norm around here, your local artist is broke! This broke status is a big problem when I gotta buy important junk. So I’m taking on bundle commissions!

Hey buddy, what is a bundle commission?

It’s pretty basic, but basically, I’ll be packaging several things that individually would cost a lot and offer em together for a lot less than I should be offering. This time around, I’ll be offering them in the form of reference sheets like the four pictured above!

That’s three colored full body images and three colored headshots of a character. Color schemes and shape breakdowns as well~

Altogether, with my normal prices that all would run you roughly 180 bucks, but I’m only asking for  smooth 80 for all of it. Criminal, right?

80 dollars? Not bad! What do I have to do to get me hands on this deal?

Just contact me! You can do that either here on tumblr through ask or IM or email me at severalpugs@gmail.com! All you need to offer is a reference of your character and maybe some communication if the proposed design isn’t as fleshed out as I need it to be in order to work.

So do you offer this all the time?

No way! I don’t hate myself that much! This is a special situation so this is limited time and quantity. I’ll only be offering 10 of these for the time being!

What if I don’t want all of this work for a single character?

We’ll have to talk about that…

I don’t want all this

Normal commissions will be closed while I’m doing these bundles, but They’ll be open afterwards! So keep an eye open for when smaller packs are available!

I;m offering three fullbody pieces and three headshots of your characters as a bundle for 80 dollars. Only 10 available.

Thanks for reading, and if there are any other questions, let me know! If you’re not interested, please pass this around!

So...wait.You asked people for their opinions in a poll, many gave their feed back, and you’re basically saying “screw that im gonna do what I want”?So what was the point?I like you guys, I do, but it honestly feels like you don’t take criticism well. I love your oc but you built up a ZT story for a very long time, so that’s what we thought the comic would be about.Yeah some are let down. It feels like you started something and are abandoning it so ppl are naturally disappointed.

ok, I’m gonna answer point by point:

“You asked people for their opinions in a poll, many gave their feed back, and you’re basically saying “screw that im gonna do what I want”?”

As you said, we asked for your opinions, we didn’t said: “Please, tell us what we have to do”, that’s the point. And I have to admit that some critiques and advices were really useful for us, so I thank you and I ask sorry if I didn’t do that before.

“it honestly feels like you don’t take criticism well..”

this, frankly, was the point that made me more pissed off in this ask. Because I think that both me and aoi have always responded politely to criticism,  we often reflected on it and asked ourselves questions and tried to explain our ideas without attacking anyone. So now you come to me saying we don’t accept the criticisms, it strongly offends me.

And now let’s define the concept of criticism. In my view, criticism has to be argued, it must be something that makes an author think, which helps him to improve and grow, though it is harsh and hostile, but still remains within the limits imposed by education.
I don’t feel  “where Nick and Judy are” like a critic, I perceive it as a lament, nothing more. That’s why I don’t consider it, it doesn’t help me.
I am aware that I cannot force others to please what I create, what I design or what I propose, in fact I don’t impose on anyone and I don’t point the gun at anyone’s front to follow what I do. I just sit and draw. People need to understand that they cannot impose their ideas on an author. An author creates for others but first of all for himself. An unhappy creator  doesn’t create anything good.

“I love your oc but you built up a ZT story for a very long time, so that’s what we thought the comic would be about.Yeah some are let down. It feels like you started something and are abandoning it so ppl are naturally disappointed.”

You catched the point here. the comic was born as a fanbase, a bit longer than the ones we had previously proposed, but not too deep. And I admit that, when it was based on the fanbase, we received a shred of negative criticism about the scarcity of the plot. So we went ahead and started to develop more definite and interesting ideas, we said, “hey, in the end, it has a good potential, let’s develop the plot in a deeper way.” we didn’t have the presumption of creating a kind of sequel to the movie or anything else, it’s just a project we are pursuing for passion and fun. The real problem is the delay in publishing times, and I’m sorry, but time is always low and I don’t want to publish low quality content to do it before. Nick and Judy will be there and will play a crucial role during the mission.

That’s all I had to say.

okay so since people were talking about how the pink lesbian flag originated as a lipstick lesbian flag, and the purple one with the labrys has the triangle that i’ve heard some jewish lesbians are uncomfortable with i was trying to design another proposal?

idk if its ugly/not catchy enough etc but please give me input! the first three are alternate proportions and the two on each row below are just slightly different colors (the different proportions are with the middle one)

the four colors are a combination between two of the eight colors in the original gilbert baker rainbow pride flag. the green/teal and yellow are also opposites of pink and purple, so i used them to represent how butch and femme identities go beyond “imitations of heterosexuality”, instead showing how us lesbians invent our own concept of womanhood. the ones with the green in the middle go to represent how even those of us who do not fit into the butch/femme dichotomy navigate womanhood through our lesbianism

please spread these designs around so i can get input on whether this design works at all/which one is best!

Sure, Keyleth and Grog are the kind of bosses you wouldn’t want to run into in the wild, and are easily the toughest party members to take down.

But if we’re going full video game boss here, may I propose the following:

In a lair he gets to design himself.

Here’s an idea proposed back in 2010 by designer Thanva Tivawong.

I don’t think anyone has done anything with the idea, but it’s still pretty brilliant.

UPDATE: Some commenters have raised good points about the flaws of this idea. For one thing, people with colour blindness rely on the position of the traffic signals, and not just the colour. Also, from a distance, red and yellow look similar even to people with perfectly normal colour perception.

Conclusion: This is just one more thing that seemed like a good idea at the time…

May Day May Day !

Today the sun is dancing after the late snow of the last few days. The temperature seems to be on the rise, finally. April was very cool and nothing much seemed to be happening in the garden very fast. But now, the forecasts look promising, and the garden is kicking into gear. I’m already there, revved up and running.

As you might have noticed, I haven’t been able to give Tumblr that much time. Since the few calmer weeks after the last school project ended in March, I have been given the first design assignment at work. My proposal for a bit of land art was approved. I’m very excited about it! The timetable is crazy — the plans should be ready and executable after a fortnight or so! And then I should be guiding the process of making it happen. Phew! This year seems to be turning into one of the busiest of my life. So, I won’t be able to check in here as often as I would like but I’ll try to keep posting pictures if nothing else.

Thank you to everyone following this mad dash! I so appreciate all the loyal friends and followers. I hope that the new followers will feel welcome at this quiet corner of the site. Each of you is important in your own way!

Thank you for all the reblogs, dear curators and rebloggers! You are all doing a great job in keeping the ball rolling whether you share, promote or hoard, or all of the above. :D And thank you everyone for the likes! I appreciate each and everyone of them!

Now let us all dance around the maypole and sing:
“In the woods there grew a tree
and a fine, fine tree was he…”

Lots of 💕,

Elation (MLFluffMonth Day 13)

|| Alyanette (platonic), aged up ||

Marinette groaned hearing the pounding of fists against her door. She pulled her head up, rubbing the kink in her neck. It was nearing ten o'clock and the fabric on her desk made it obvious she had fallen asleep during work.

The pounding sound got louder and more frequent. “I’m coming, I’m coming!” She called, forcing herself out of the chair. Marinette slowly made her way to her door and opened it slightly, only to see her best friend.

She fully opened the door and moved watching as Alya ran into the room, beaming. “Do you notice anything different about me!?” She mused, barely able to contain her excitement.
“New glasses?” Marinette replied sarcastically. Her friend frowned and held out her right had.
“See anything different?”
“There’s a ring.”
“Not just any ring! An engagement ring! Nino proposed! I’m getting married!” Alya beamed. Marinette stared at her friend, processing everything.

“You’re getting married?”
“Nino actually proposed?”
“Yep!” Marinette blinked before her face broke into the largest grin she’d ever had.
“That’s great! When’s the wedding? I need to start dress designing!”
“Woah. Calm down girl. He proposed today. Nothing else has been planned.”
“I know, but the sooner the better..?”

Alya chuckled. “Alright. Let’s start dress designing then.”

Day 13 done!

What people say: “Contrived thought experiments are dumb; they don’t have any relevance to real life.”

What I hear: “My ethical theory has serious problems when you extend it to unfamiliar situations; therefore I propose to limit the domain to situations where I have designed it to output the actions I wanted anyway.”

Johnny Wander Omnibus cover: initial thumbnail & final design. (photoshop)

The Johnny Wander Omnibus kickstarter is coming to a close so I wanted to show off the cover process.  On top is the final sketch I proposed, below it is the final design that will be on the book!  I had a lot of fun drawing those cat heads but also HOO BOY THAT WAS A LOT OF CAT HEADS (there’s more on the spine and back cover as well!)

The kickstarter has NINE HOURS LEFT, so if you’d like to pick up the book, stickers, pins, or the coveted and beautiful Maw plush, now’s your chance!! ❤️

I propose the term inner book to designate the set of mythic representations, be they collective or individual, that come between the reader and any new piece of writing, shaping his reading without his realizing it. Largely unconscious, this imaginary book acts as a filter and determines the reception of new texts by selecting which of its elements will be retained and how they will be interpreted.

- Pierre Bayard, How To Talk About Books You Haven’t Read

Epilepsy Fairy/Mascot design

I propose a combination of the two.

Because emus are hilarious, and the Fairy is not a delicate Tinkerbellish creature- she’s fierce and scary and not at all cute.  So I’d say that however we start to design the Fairy’s art, we strt with an ass-kickin, number-takin full-grown Emu.

I don’t know exactly where we go from there (I’m picturing sort of a pirate-style look?  Like, one-eyed, wearing a belt laden with her treasures and weapons?), but I think a badass emu is a good place to start from.

Great great blog. I can't wait to start reading all the imagine. If you are not busy, could you do an imagine of a fight with henry. Like you are jealous of the girls around henry and you start fighting and then you leave his apartment to go back to yours and then you hear him knocking at your door and he tells you how much you mean to him and everything and then you start making out with him. Thanks :)

Imagine you’re at Henry’s flat, after a long day of work he’d invited you over to his place for dinner and beers. You’re happy yet surprised since you hadn’t heard from him all day which was unlike him. He’d picked a line-up of movies that he’d known you liked and forced you to sit and relax in the foyer while he finished up cooking dinner, and despite your mass efforts to sneak into the kitchen to help him, he walked you back to the living room each time.

“Something smells good in there!” you call out wondering what in the world he could possibly be making for you when you hear him call something about staying in the living room and smelling it from there. You laugh to yourself and rest your head back on the cloud-like cushions of his couch. As you raise your beer to your lips to take a swig you hear a short jingle and it’s from Henry’s phone. You ignored it but within the span of just a minute, the jingle rings again twenty times.

Perking your head up, you call for Henry, but receive no answer. Placing your beer on top of a coaster on the coffee table, you lean over to retrieve his phone from the side table but the name on the phone is what stops you and catches your eye. Victoria. Your eyes direct back to the hallway leading to the kitchen and when you hear some clinking, you turn back to the phone and open the messages.
