i need your blonde quiff back!

Safe In Your Arms

preference list here

based on a calum pref that this lovely girl asked: Can you do a preference where I’m before you exits little sister and I’m 16 a model and I’m dating calum.. But he breaks up with my I get in a fight with my brothers so I decided to fly over to la so I do and when I settle in I go to Starbucks and I happen to run into calum and he just apologizes and he wants me back so then we just cuddle that night!!

It was last night where you made your mistake. A part of you still missed him, although it was Calum that called the relationship off. He didn’t want to call it off, everyone thought you two were the cutest couple in hollywood. But his manager disagreed. The manager thought that Calum was too caught up in love with you and it was keeping away and distracting him from focusing on music.

Four months from the breakup, and you thought you could handle it. Recently with 5 Seconds Of Summer on their tour and becoming more and more popular as days pass by, their getting more shout outs and it’s getting hard for you to let go of what you two had.

You drove Connor’s car around the town last night. Everything was going alright. The sun was slowly going down so it was beautiful to see the orange and yellow pink sky. But the radio station announced that they had 5SOS in at their station, hearing Calum’s giggly voice and hearing him happy crushed you inside.

Your eyes glanced down for a second. You accidentally crashed Connor’s car on the side of the pole. You turned the car off and screamed. You immediately ran outside to go see the damage of Connor’s car. Connor recently purchased a new car a month ago. You knew he was going to get pissed.

As you sit in your bedroom upstairs, music blasted at exceeded volume, you hear a loud knock on your door. Connor allowed himself inside your room.

“Are you fucking serious, (y/n)? You said you were going to go around town for ten minutes last night, and look at it! It’s all messed up!” He angrily yelled at you. You could see his face burning up.

“I’m sorry.” you whispered.

“You’re almost 17 for godsakes! Stop acting like a baby.” Connor crossed his arms over his chest. “Sometimes I wish you used your brain. I mean, you have one don’t you?”

“I’m sorry, okay? I didn’t mean to crash your car! What do you want me to do?” At this point you felt pain in your eyes. Tears were going to come out any minute. The more he yelled at you, the more you felt like everything was your fault.

“You can never use my car ever again! I’m never trusting you with anything. Why can’t you be more like Toby? He’s such a better person-”

“Stop!” You grabbed your car keys and left the house with your car. You could see Connor running after you. The words left from his lips were on repeat. He begged you to get out of the car; said that he didn’t mean the things he spoke. You sped off into the LA region of California since LA and the part where you live were a twenty minute drive.

Peace and quiet. That was what you needed. You drove to the nearest Starbucks you could find.

You peeked through the windows and saw that there wasn’t much people inside. Perfect. You said to yourself. The few people inside were silent and calm. This is exactly what you needed since you had a heated fight with your brother.

Giggle.

Giggle.

It sounded familiar. You looked around to see where that was coming from. His black/blonde streak was up in a quiff. His eyes met yours. He suddenly went silent. Pain was what he was feeling inside. Standing beside him was Ashton. Ashton waved at you as he leaned in to Calum’s ear to whisper something. Calum walked over, a sad/hurt expression, but the excitement of seeing your presence.

“Hey,” he smiled a little.

“Hey,” you smiled back.

Calum sighed. “I’m sorry. I really am (y/n). I didn’t mean it when I said I didn’t like being with you. Do you think we can try this again?”

“I don’t know.” Shrugging your shoulders, you shook your head. Soon, all the pain that’s bubbled up inside finally came out. Tears were streaming down your cheeks, your lungs struggling to gasp for air. Calum hugged you tight. He gently rubbed your back and allowed you to cry against his chest.

“Come join me for coffee at my place. I’ll make your favorite.” He whispered in your ear. He released you from his embrace. You nodded and laughed. He still remembered your favorite coffee.

At his place in LA, he poured the coffee in two mugs adding your favorite creamer to make it taste good. You sat in the living room with a pillow hugged tight against your chest. He passed over the coffee and joined you in the couch.

“Anything important that I’ve missed?” He asked.

“Well, I just crashed Connor’s car last night. That was pretty amazing!” You laughed as he spit out his coffee and laughed with you nearly choking.

“Oh my god! (Y/N), are you alright?” Calum asked concerned.

You sat the coffee down on the coffee table. “Eh, my back hurts a little but I’m alright.”

Calum placed his coffee down on the table as well. “Here, let me give you a back massage to help your back.”

You shook your head, and smiled innocently. “To be honest, I really miss your cuddles. That’ll make me feel better.”

“Of course! I miss our cuddles too.” He laughed.

Calum laid down next to you. Surprisingly, the sofa was big enough for the both of you. You laid down besides him. He pressed his chest closer to your back, his arms wrapping around your waist.

“I always feel safe when I’m in your arms.” You whispered.

“I’ll always be here for you (Y/N).” Calum whispered.

Secretary Part 5 (Luke Hemmings)

It had been two months since you had stopped working for Luke. Looking around your new apartment you sighed and started picking up the empty boxes making a pile by the door. Walking towards your bedroom you picked up the box that was by the door and placed it gently on the door. Looking through it you bit down on your lip as you pulled out a grey tie. Turning it over you examined the material before placing it gently on the bed. Sitting down on the bed you continued going through the box. Sighing quietly at you pulled out a knitted bracelet. Staring down at you you twirled it in your fingers and frowned before placing it next to the grey tie.
“Throw it away” you heard a soft voice say. Looking up you stared at your roommate and nodded your head before tossing the tie and the bracelet into the green trashcan by your bed. “You don’t need stuff like that to keep reminding you of him” she added. Biting on your lip you kept your eyes on the trash and sighed nodding slightly “Come on let’s get something to eat” she said. Rubbing your thighs softly you pushed yourself of the bed and followed the red haired girl
“Where are we going” you asked as you slipped on your shoes and grabbed your purse from the table.
“There’s a little diner just down the street” she muttered.
“Wait I need my wallet” you said as you looked through your purse. Running back to your room you grabbed the wallet from the night stand and sighed as you stared at the trashcan. Leaning down you picked up the tie and bracelet setting them gently on the night stand.
“Ready” she asked. Nodding you smiled at her and closed the door behind you as you two headed down the to the diner.

A giggled left your lips as you looked around the diner.
“You aren’t over it are you” she asked as she took a sip from her drink. Looking at her you raised your eyebrow
“What” you asked playing softly with the napkin in front of you
“You’re not over him” she replied as she stared at you.
“I am” you replied staring down “I just thought that I was someone special to him and that I could have changed him” you muttered knowing it sounded stupid “But he’s the type of person you cant change” you added looking over at her “I loved my job but, I couldn’t be around him” you said. She nodded and stared at you
“Well you start your new job soon” she said a smile on her face
“Yeah, maybe once I start this I will forget about it. Focusing on the work will help” you replied smiling sweetly before taking a sip from your drink.
“You wont have to see him will you” she asked. Shaking your head quickly you set the drink down
“I don’t see why, they’re different companies and I don’t handle any of the meetings” you said “And even if I did run into him its not going to change anything” you added.

Fixing the grey skirt you stepped inside the office and smiled at the girl at the front desk.
“I’m here to see Mr. Hood” you said, she nodded her head and stood up. She disappeared down the hallway, tapping your hand softly on your thigh you looked around the office. Looking at all the awards and recognition’s that were hanging on the wall.
“Ms. Y/L/N” you heard him say, looking over you smiled at the brunette man standing in front of you “Come join us, we are just having a meeting” he said as he put his hand out motioning for you to make your way down the hallway. Nodding quickly you followed him towards the room in the back. Looking around you noticed the curly headed man you had seen at Mr. Hemmings office multiple times and the blonde hair “I think you know Ashton Irwin” you heard Mr. Hood say. Nodding you smiled and shook his hand “Please take a seat” he added, sitting down next to the curly headed man you played nervously with the hem of your skirt. This was weird you were use to seeing them but never talked with them about business before. Mr. Hemmings did all the business, you were just along to take notes and make sure everything went right. You were his right hand man you knew all the rules about business and you would only speak up when something seemed off. “Mr. Irwin here has a music company” he said making you looked over at him nodding slightly “He wants our help with his business, he wants to be able to work with a company in London” he added. Leaning slightly on the table you listened carefully “We’ve never made a deal with a company outside of Australia. On the other hand Luke’s company has and you were there through out the whole thing” he said, you could tell he felt awkward mentioning Mr. Hemmings name to you
“Have you contacted this company before” you asked looking over at Mr. Irwin “Sir” you quickly said making them chuckle
“None of that Sir or Mr. Irwin my name is Ashton” he giggled blushing you nodded your head “But to answer you question, we have only talked on the phone” he added “I am flying out to London this weekend with Calum, would you be free to come along” he asked.
“I would love to but I wont be able to” you said quickly, knowing how much a ticket to London it
“All expenses paid” said Mr. Hood looking over at you
“It’s not that Mr. Hood” you said looking over at him
“It’s Calum” he chuckled “And I know why but, we need you there” he added. Sighing you nodded slightly and looked over at them “Our plane leaves at 2. Would you like me to pick you up” he asked
“I can have my roommate drop me off” you said, he nodded his head and smiled at you before Mr. Irwin stood up.

A giggled left your lips as you walked with Mr. Hood. He looked over at you and smiled bigger.
“It’s true” he laughed as he opened the glass doors for you. Nodding at him you stepped inside and looked around
“Mr. Irwin is meeting us here” you asked before looking at Calum. He nodded and his head before taking your hand. Blushing you bit down on your lip and stared down at your hand in his.
“This way” he said before he tugged softly on your hand leading you down the long hallway “Now Ms. Y/L/N you might hate me after this” he said, looking over at him you raised your eyebrow. Stepping inside the office you bit down on your lip. Staring at the blond haired man, his back was to your but you knew him anywhere. You knew exactly who he was by the quiff
“Calum” you whispered turning to face the brunette who stood behind you
“I know I said you wouldn’t have to deal with his business but he also works with Ashton they have been doing business since the begging, he needs to be here” he whispered as he placed his hands on your shoulder “It will be a short meeting and we can leave as soon as it over. Ashton just really needs your help. This will take his company to the next level” he added. Nodding you looked over and started at the curly haired man. He was begging you with his eyes. Sighing you closed your eyes before you turned around. Looking around you found a spot and sat down. You watched as he spun his chair, his icy blue eyes landed on you. Watching as he played with his lip ring he raised his eyebrow and leaned forward on his chair. His hands landing on the table as he crossed them, he couldn’t take his eyes off of you
“Ms. Y/L/N” he whispered before he looked over at Mr. Hood. “What are you doing here” he asked as he turned his attention back to you
“I work for Calum” you muttered before looking down at your the papers in front of you
“Calum” he asked, you watched from the corner of your eyes as he stared at the man next to you.
“We are here to do business Luke” said Calum looking over at the blond man

“We need to talk” he said bitterly as he gripped your arm tugging you down the hallway
“Mr. Hemmings get your hands off of me” you spat trying to get out of his grip, he tugged you towards the men’s bathroom and looked around before he locked the door.
“Why the hell are you working for Calum” he spat as he stared at you
“Why doesn’t it matter Mr. Hemmings. Calum and I get along well and we work well together” you said staring at him
“Calum?” he asked laughing “You call him Calum” he added looking over at you “Are you also sleeping with him to get a better position” he laughed
“I don’t have to sleep with someone to get a better position my work does that for me” you spat glaring at him
“You slept with me to get a better position and for the money, is that what you are doing with Calum, I see how he looks at you” he said as he ran his fingers through his hair. You rolled your eyes and stared at him
“No I didn’t Mr. Hemmings. I slept with you because I had feelings for you” you said watching as he gulped and stared at you “It was never for a better position and it sure as hell wasn’t for the money” you whispered “If it was for the money I would have taken the house you offered me” you added. He stared at you and bit down on his lip. “But then again I was just like every other girl according to you. It doesn’t surprise me that you think I did it for the money” you said unlocking the door you stepped out.

You froze as you stared at Calum, he looked behind you and raised his eyebrow as he watched Mr. Hemmings stepping out
“Are you alright” he asked as he turned to you, nodding you smiled slightly at him
“Can we just go” you asked, he nodded his head and put his hand out to you. Taking his hand you gave it a small squeeze and walked out with Mr. Hood. Looking back you noticed Mr. Hemmings glaring at his best friend, you could see the anger in his face as he focused on your hand that was tangled with Calum’s.

Daughter of hades, Son of Zeus Part 4

“Look I just wanted to ask you something” Michael said and looked a little tense
“Go ahead, can’t guarantee you the answer you’re looking for though” I mumbled

“Come to Felicia’s cabin with me” this time he sounded more confident.

I laughed “Sorry but I’m not into threesomes” He looked utterly surprised by my answer and looked at the ground embarrassed

He gave me a half smile “well as much as I would want that” he added and got closer to me “I would of at least asked you out first” he looked me straight in the eyes and made me feel very uncomfortable.

“Felicia’s father is God of vines so her place is pretty much like a never ending party” he said while backing away.

“Okay if you can give me one good reason to why I should go with you, I will come willingly” I asked curious about what he would say to try to convince me.

“Because I will be there” I had to concentrate to not burst out in laughter “and I think we both know that you aren’t going to be able to resist me for much longer… so why fight it” there was absolutely nothing wrong with his assertiveness.

“You….” I couldn’t even finish my sentence without laughing “you actually think I fancy you” he looked at me questioning.

In the distance I could see Calum approaching.

“Hi Calum have you heard, apparently I’m in love with Michael” I couldn’t stop laughing “oh really and when’s the wedding?” Calum asked Michael who was in shock.

Michael looked at me frustrated and chuckled “yeah well whatever, you know where to find me” he said and left.

“I don’t know what that was all about but.. we are going to Felicia’s cabin so I was just wondering if you wanted to go with me” Calum said still trying to catch his breath from the little fit of laughter we had.

I looked at Calum skeptically.

“I don’t know, Michael just asked me the same thing and…” I didn’t have a chance to continue before Calum interrupted me.

“Screw Michael. You have been here for two days and Michael already has you wrapped around his finger” Calum actually looked hurt.

“Euw Calum I wouldn’t even touch Michael with a tong” If I’m not mistaken it sounds like my little guide has a crush on me,
how cute.

“Come on y/n, there’s free alcohol” Calum said with a wide smile

“I’m staying for one hour” I said sternly.

When we arrived at the Dionysus’s cabin there was a lot of people and from the look of it, it really was a “never ending party”.

I couldn’t help but to look after Michael, not seeing him made me feel a little better.

We walked in to what I think was supposed to be a living room. People were dancing and singing along to whatever song was on, I couldn’t hear what song it was because of all the screaming.

When I got here I expected this camp to be all about training and becoming some sort of warrior or some shit like that, I don’t know, but I think I can get used to this.

“Y/n you came, I got a little worried when you just left like that” a short brunette with a lot of make up on screamed behind me, I couldn’t really recognize her at first but I soon saw it was Felicia.

“Yeah sorry about that I just had to get something from my cabin” I lied.

“Yeah yeah but you’re here now, let’s take some shots” she screamed and i tried my best to hear her.

“Hey Andra come on, let’s take some shots” I turned my head the same direction as the brunette to see a blonde girl with a little too much cleavage for my taste hooking up with a very tall blonde boy, if it wasn’t for his quiff I wouldn’t have recognized him as Luke. Andra just waved her hand at us.

“Well who needs her anyway” Felicia laughed.

“Well Calum are you up for some shots” Felicia asked and I had totally forgotten about the tall boy trailing behind me “Aren’t I always” he chuckled back.

A couple of body shots and drinks later, I was wasted and long forgotten about the just staying for an hour thing.

I was sitting in the kitchen talking to
Calum “I just realized that I don’t even know your last name” I giggled at Calum who made a funny face “Hood, you know like that fox” he lifted his arms pretending to shoot away an arrow “oh, oh you mean Robin Hood” I said hardly breathing because of the laugh I was trying to hide.

Suddenly I heard a lot of cheering and saw a big crowd forming around something.

“What is going on over there?” I asked Andra who finally found her way from Luke’s lips to us “oh that, that’s just Michael” I don’t think I’ve seen Michael even once since I got here.

“And what the hell is he doing, I mean there’s a crowd so I can’t see anything” I asked really confused “he’s probably doing a keg stand or something” Felicia shouted from the other side of the kitchen island.

“So you mean that you’ve had a keg all the time and you didn’t say anything” I said and made my best sad face.

“You didn’t ask, do you know how to do a keg stand?” Felicia asked surprised

“If I do? Please, I’m the master of keg stands.” I said confidently.

“If you can beat Michael’s record then I will carry you all the way home” Calum looked at me weirdly
“Bring me breakfast tomorrow and we have a deal” I held my hand ready to shake Calum’s “It’s a deal!”

We made our way to the keg where I could see Michael talking to Luke.

“HEY YOU, ISNT IT MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE I SEE??” Michael came up to me and hugged me tight.

“First of all I’m not your wife and second of all LET GO OF ME!” I squealed while trying to get out of Michael’s grip.

“I knew you couldn’t resist me” he whispered in my ear before backing away and raising his hands in defeat.

“Thank you very much” I mumbled irritated.

I think Calum saw how uncomfortable I felt because he stepped between us “okay so his record is 15 seconds, do that and you get breakfast served in bed tomorrow” Calum walked around the keg ready to assist me but I just waved my hand at him.
I’ve done this so many times that I really don’t need any assistance.

I decided to do a double deal while I was at it “HEY Michael wanna do a deal?” I turned around to look him in the eyes

“if I beat your record, will you leave me alone afterwards?” I asked hoping for him to take the bet “If you do a keg stand and dance with me, I will leave you alone later and that’s a promise”

I nodded in agreement.

I took a firm grip and threw myself up in a handstand and the people around us started counting down from fifteen.

When they finally reached zero I slowly made my way down and threw a sarcastic smile at Michael who stood there like an absolute idiot.

I high fived Calum who looked disappointed “Hey a deal is a deal and before i forget, I would like pancakes for breakfast thanks”

I made my way back into the living room and looked back to see if Michael was following and when I did, I saw him looking at my ass “HEY thunder boy, eyes up here” I said and pointed at my eyes, he just laughed and followed me into the living room where people were dancing.

To my bad luck a slow song came on. It sounded like ‘My favorite faded fantasy’ by Damien rice which is actually a favorite of mine.

Michael and I was dancing close to each other. It felt like he was planning this, I mean it’s weird that just after my keg stand a slow song would come on when the only thing left on my list to get away from was to dance with him.

Michael closed the little distance we had between us and hugged me while we were dancing.

“Why do you have to hate me so much?” he asked and laid his head on my shoulder.

“Have you meet yourself, you aren’t exactly the nicest person” I sighed.

“I could be better if you just gave me a chance” he looked me in the eyes and had a look of honesty on his face.

He leaned in for a kiss but I turned my head and he backed away.

“I need air”

Michael had made me feel weak, and that can never happen again.

I started looking for someone, I don’t know who but I needed some stability right now. I felt the sting in my hands, this can’t happen, not now, I need to calm down.

Right in the middle of my little panic attack I saw Andra, I made my way over to her and grabbed her by the arm “I need to get out of here!” I guess she saw panic rising in my eyes because she quickly got me out of there.

“Where do you wanna go?” she looked at me worried “I don’t know, but it hurts” I said faintly.

“Stay here I’m going to get Calum just umh breathe, okay?” she said before running away. Everything was blurry and the breathing thing was easier said than done.

Show Us What You've Got: Cashton Imagine

“Those guys are totally eye fucking you over there,” your friend chucked, elbowing your ribs as you looked over to who she was talking about.

Calling them hot or attractive was an understatement; they were both absolutely breathtaking. One of them had curly caramel locks, while the other had a jet-black quiff with vanilla streaks. You gulped down the breath that was trying to escape your lungs, needing every last bit of oxygen you could get while you were looking at the two gorgeous guys from across the room. The boy with blonde highlights gave you a wink, and then turned to whisper in his friends ear.

“I don’t know,” you said with a shaky breath, taking a sip of your alcoholic beverage to try and bring some life back in to you. “Y/N, are you kidding me?” she gawked, “They’re practically undressing you in the middle of the club!” she squeaked.

PART 1

PART 3

PART 4

Previously on ‘Sleeping Beauty’…

“I love you so much, you know that right?”

“Actually… I don’t.” You pulled your hand away from his and laced your fingers together in your lap. He raised his eyebrows, clearly confused by your actions and your answer. “Quick question… Who are you?”

“You-You don’t know who I am?” His mouth was slightly open in disbelief. Just when he thought he had you back, you were still so far away.

“Should I?” Luke looked down to the floor, covering his hands over his face. He sucked in a shaky breath before looking back up, but away from you. You noticed his bright blue eyes had slightly become glossy as he refused to meet his gaze.

“Can you excuse me for a minute?” Before you could answer he was already up and out  into the hallway.

Luke leaned back against the wall, and sunk to the floor. He pulled his knees into his chest as he stared at the wall ahead of him. He squeezed his eyes shut, hoping to hold in his tears, but failed as one began to trickle down his cheek. He hastily tried to wipe it away before anyone would see, but another fell… and another.

“Are you okay, mate?” Luke, looked over to the hand on his shoulder. Ashton had sat down next to him, in an attempt to comfort him.

“You knew. You tried to warn me, but I didn’t listen.”

“Luke-”

“This can’t be happening, Ash? First the car accident, then the coma, now this? We may sing about amnesia but that doesn’t mean I really wanted it to happen.” He let out a strained laugh and rubbed his eyes again.

“Her doctor said that her amnesia may not be permanent. She could still remember.”

“What if she doesn’t? She’s my wife, your friend, Emma’s mom! We need her to remember… I need her to remember.”

"Just give her some time.”

“You’re back.” Luke walked back into the room, settling into seat in the same chair he had been in for the past few days. The happiness from when he originally walked in ha faded. His eyes were red, and slightly puffy. Has he been crying? You thought.

“You really don’t know who I am?”

“You are familiar… I recognize you from somewhere.” You did recognize that familiar blonde quiff, plus the other boys that you had seen walking by the doorway. What were their names? Ashton? Caleb? No, Calum. Not Caleb.

“You do?” His eyes lit up, hoping that you could remember.

“Yeah, yeah. Oh, I got it! You’re Luke Hemmings from 5 Seconds of Summer! My best friend. (Y/BF/N), loves you guys!”

“Oh, yeah… That’s me.”

“So, I know who you are, but how do you know me? You’re a celebrity, why would you be in my hospital room?”

“We’re…. friends…”

“I’m friends with a rockstar?”

You stood in line with (Y/BF/N) behind hundreds of other girls wearing flannels, converse, 5 seconds of Summer T-shirts, and signs confessing their love for the boy (Y/BF/N) had told you was the drummer. Occasionally, a girl would claim to get a glimpse of one of the the four boys and start screaming at the top of her lungs, which spread like wildfire down the line and began to sting your ears. If it was up to you, you would be at home curled up on the couch with the tv remote in your hand, or scrolling through your tumblr. Instead, (Y/BF/N) had made you join her. Normally you would try to wiggle your way out of going to this concert, but she didn’t have anyone else to go with her, and you owed her.

Earlier that week, you had forgotten to set your alarm and overslept first block. It wouldn’t have been a big deal except the two of you had a group presentation that morning, and you had slept right through it. You knew she hated presentations, and doing it alone would only make her nervousness worse. When you met up at lunch, she gave you the silent treatment for the first fifteen minutes. You apologized like crazy, and ultimately said you’d do anything to pay her back. She had almost given up until you said that, and knew you couldn’t say no.

”(Y/BF/N), we’ve been here four hours already, and the show doesn’t start for a few more. Do we have to wait in this ridiculous line?“

"Yes we do! They may come out! If we leave, we may miss them!”

“Well I’m about to thirst to death, so I’m going to get something to drink. Do you want anything?” She gave you her usual order as you stepped out of line and walked down the block, heading for the closest restaurant in sight. You settled on a small cafe at the end of the block.

The place was empty, minus a table of four boys in the corner. Each of them had a mug in their hands, and a few pages that you believed to be song sheets scattered across the table. The four boys seemed oddly familiar to you, but you couldn’t put your finger on it. Taking your eye off the boys, you drew your attention to the cashier and ordered your drinks. She finished quickly and handed you the drinks, wishing you a good evening. As you turned around to leave, you didn’t realize one of the boys was behind you as you crashed into his chest, spilling your drink all over his shirt.

“Oh, shit. I’m so sorry!” You cursed, looking up at his blue eyes. “Let me help you.” Quickly, you grabbed some napkins and began rubbing at his white shirt, hoping to clean it up, but it wasn’t really working. About half a minute into cleaning you noticed he stilled. Sensing the awkward situation, you pulled back, covering your hands to hide your embarrassment. “I’m sorry. This is probably extremely awkward.”

“It’s fine. Really. I probably shouldn’t have walked right up behind you.” He said, rubbing the back of his neck. You smiled and looked back up at him. “I’m Luke.”

“(Y/N).”

As the barista remade your drinks, Luke invited you to join him and the other boys at their table. In your head, hanging out with these boys seemed much better than standing in line for two more hours and listening to girls scream at ear piercing levels. So you accepted his offer and sat with them. Carrying a conversation with them was easy. All four of them had you laughing and wanting to know more about them. You loved listening to them, and talking about music. Even though they didn’t dare to mention their own musical status. What was supposed to be a few minutes turned into you sitting for a few minutes lasted longer than either of you had expected. The five of you were drawn back in when Michael’s phone rang.

“Looks like we have to go.” He said after hanging up the call.

“What time is it?” You asked.

“Six thirty.” Luke answered, and tucked his phone back down into his pocket.

“Shit, the concert starts in half and hour. (Y/BF/N) is going to kill me.”

“Which concert?”

“Some concert my friend dragged me to. She’s a huge fan. You guys know 5 Seconds of Summer?”

“Yeah. They’re really good.” Michael said, smirking and nudging Calum. “We’re going to the show too.”

“Oh cool. Do you have good seats?”

“Best in the house.”

“How long ago was that concert?”

“Ten years ago this November.”

“Ten years?” You questioned frantically. You remembered (Y/BF/N) as clear as day. She’d gone on and on again about all the bands she loved, including 5 Seconds of Summer. But ten years… that couldn’t be right. How could you just forget ten years of your life? I didn’t make sense…

Back to Luke. According to you, Luke was a complete stranger; just some famous person that was surprisingly at your bedside. From what he just told you, he’s known you a decade. If he was sitting at your beside now, you had to have had more than just one meeting with him and the rest of the boys than at that small cafe near the venue. You needed to know more.

“We’ve been friends for ten years?”

“You could say that.” He said, looking down at his hands and fooling with the ring on his finger. You watched him, realizing that was more than just a ring. It was a wedding band.

“How long have you been married?”

“Almost seven years.”

“That’s a long time. Do you have any children?” He nodded, pulling his phone from his pocket and scrolling to a picture of him and Emma. You took your time to scan the photo. She looked just like him. Her hair, her eyes. The two of them were smiling widely, and she stood on stage with a microphone, with Luke sitting beside her playing his guitar. You suspected a photographer had taken the photo. It looked too professional to be taken from a fan’s phone. “She’s beautiful, Luke.”

“Just like her mom.” He whispered.

“Do I know her?” He hesitated before answering, truthfully.

“Not any more.”
