Minhyun does not do crying…

Minhyun is a resilient, brave and motivated individual who always strives to be the best version of himself that he can be. Minhyun is a champion who works hard to overcome stigmas, replacing comments like ‘worst dancer’ to 'he dances really well!!’ He is diligent, diplomatic and most of all pure at heart; Minhyun’s kindness knows no bounds.

There’s a reason he gained so many fans whilst on Produce 101 and it’s not just because of his visuals but because he overcame adversity and he fought and he showcased his talents elegantly. Even when he falters and he stumbles, Minhyun gets back up again and carries on. It’s what he always has done. Minhyun knows how to handle difficult situations tactfully so that there is the best outcome for everyone, not just himself.

Minhyun thinks about others a lot and his selfless nature is what the other NU'EST members have always appreciated. He gives to others more of him than he even realises. He’s thoughtful and considerate but most importantly-Minhyun is always positive. When things get hard, he goes headfirst with a positive attitude. In NU'EST, he is the 'happy virus’. He is a beacon of light and he shines radiantly, whatever he does.

When Minhyun is upset, when something is bothering him, it’s not always obvious but sometimes there are tell tale signs. He might go quieter or he might come across a little reserved…but he doesn’t bottle things up because he knows he’s loved and he knows he has people he can turn to. Minhyun understands himself well. He can keep himself together even when he’s having a hard time. It’s not that he doesn’t want to show weakness, it’s more like he doesn’t want to burden others by showing an unhappy side, so he channels it healthily into exercise and hobbies. When he is alone, he can unravel himself and simply 'be’ and that’s why he likes going to movies alone or reading novels quietly in his room.

Every so often though, he will seek the company of a friend and that’s when he turns to the other members. Minhyun likes playing games with the other NU'EST members and watching movies with them and learning more about musical composition with them and joking around with them and eating ramen with them and going on spontaneous adventures with them and learning new languages with them and-

Minhyun needs all of NU'EST.
Even though he initially became a part of NU'EST, somewhere down the line NU'EST became a part of him. Knowing that promoting in 'Wanna One’ means being away from the other NU'EST members isn’t just sad because he’s being away from his brothers, but he’s going to be away from those people he has leaned on for support for the past 6-8 years. Ever since they were trainees, Pledis Boys worked hard together at a young age and formed a strong, honest bond of love and compassion for one another. Promoting without the NU'EST members, being apart from them for 2 years will be like losing a huge part of himself…and to be the leader of another group? It’s inconceivable especially when Minhyun has only followed JR diligently since the start.

The only other time Minhyun cried so openly is when JR wrote a letter during a Japanese live about how sorry he was that he hadn’t done enough for NU'EST and ㄴㅇㅅㅌs. Minhyun cried then because JR was vulnerable, upset and feeling shameful about his lack of leadership when Minhyun knew all too well how hard JR works for everyone. Minhyun doesn’t cry for himself, he cries for others. Seeing the people he cares for and loves deeply suffer hurts him most.

Minhyun cried today, not for himself but for his fellow NU'EST members.

Today, we saw Jonghyun, Minki and Dongho eliminated from the final Produce 101 season 2 line up whilst Minhyun achieved 9th place. Minhyun cried not for his own achievement but because he had to stand there, alone, whilst his fellow members cheered his success on whilst hurting inside. He was miserable because he felt like he had cheated them by succeeding even though we all know how hard he worked and how well he has done to gain more recognition. He felt like he didn’t deserve to be there without the other NU'EST members. He was vulnerable today, the most vulnerable we’ve ever seen him.

Minhyun doesn’t do crying…not unless someone he loves is suffering.

If you’ve supported NU'EST and Minhyun so far, I hope you’ll continue to support them all, whatever the uncertain future holds. Let’s continue to help ALL of NU'EST rise. Purchase and stream their songs on places like Mel0n and Genie, buy physical copies from places that contribute to the Hanteo chart, watch their music videos, share their music with others, share your experiences with NU'EST with others-just use this opportunity to spread as much love about NU'EST as you possibly can because during this fragile period, this is the best thing we can do.

Let’s prevent Minhyun from suffering and crying again…let’s not let any of NU'EST have a reason to cry again…

The greatest discovery of my adult life thus far has been that if you go to a cafe that serves like beer and wine and take out your computer no one judges you for drinking alone on a weeknight

can’t live with him but can’t live without him - oliver x marcus

“I can’t do this,” Oliver whined, sitting up among the whirlpool of crumpled sheets, fleecy blankets and duck-feather pillows that seemed to be suffocating him as he tried to sleep. “I just can’t.”

He melodramatically kicked the duvet off him, cheeks a deep scarlet colour as he leapt from the bed and stood by the oak chest of drawers, one hand propped on his hip while the other wearily rubbed over his eyes. It was a late night and through the break in the curtains Oliver could see the moon hung proudly in the sky, surrounded by its very own sea of stars. Among the navy canvas the stars almost looked like a dot-to-dot pattern, just waiting for someone to come and connect them to complete the image. Oliver liked to imagine the stars would create an outline of Marcus’ face, perfectly accentuating his angelic cheekbones and God-like jawline. He was unfairly gorgeous, Oliver thought, which only made this hindrance more aggravating.

Laying the Groundwork

A/N: SURPRISE: I wrote a new thing! So my brain was in dire need of producing something with a little more humour and a lot more romance than the other things I’ve been writing as of late. Alas, this steamy, fun little story happened. This is Part I of II or III. Hope you like it! 😊

A/N 2: I began to write this for the ss month prompt “Connected Feelings” but evidently I really missed the deadline.

Summary: Sasuke and Sakura are both ready for physical intimacy, but neither is willing to make a move until the other expresses where their feelings stand. The catch is that neither knows how to express where their feelings stand. SasuSaku. Blank period.

Genre: Romance / Humour

Rated: T (Teen) for sexual themes

Disclaimer: All characters belong to the great Masashi Kishimoto

PART I

It was the first night Sasuke and Sakura agreed to share a bed.

And I know what you’re thinking: our vagabond heroes are winding up for a steamy, passionate night, aren’t they? I mean, finally, after months of mutual dependency and roaming foreign lands, prowling the wild like predators and becoming attuned to each others’ basic, primal needs, Sasuke and Sakura must be ready to put a physical seal on their ever-growing, soul-connecting emotional bond… right?

Well, not exactly.

It was a choice borne of logic, not passion, because the only single-person rooms available at the only inn in town were enormous and, frankly, irritatingly expensive (to borrow a word from Sasuke himself). “What’s there to see in this town that made them hike up the prices?” Sasuke mumbled into his travelling companion’s ear, while ignoring the clerk’s glare. She could hear everything he was saying.

He’s got a point, Sakura thought, because this little town, somewhere on the Northern boarders of Fire country, wasn’t even a spec on the maps. “We could just share,” she proposed while trying to keep her voice as nonchalant as one possibly could when suggesting something so obviously… suggestive.

Sasuke stared at her for a moment while a million thoughts crossed his mind. Could she… She doesn’t want to…?

He stopped himself mid-thought.

No, that wasn’t what this was about. Sakura was practical and resourceful and that was why she wanted to share a room (and that was why he liked her).

“One room,” he said to the clerk.

[ENG SUB] Takada Kenta Seoul News Interview

Let’s get into some PRAYER

The amazing Priscilla Shirer, in her book ‘Fervent’ says this… “Prayer is the portal that brings the power of heaven down to earth. It is Kryptonite to the Enemy and all his ploys against you”. When I read this the hairs on the back of my neck stood up, my toes started tingling and my heart knew that prayer isn’t something I should take lightly, and neither should you.

Now let me just tell you guys a bit about this journey God has been taking me on with my prayer life. Firstly, He led me to Priscilla’s book which is so much more than a book. It is a sharpening tool for your prayers which are your number one weapon in your spiritual life.. but i’ll get to that in a bit. She has named it ‘Fervent, A Woman’s Battle Plan for Serious, Specific and Strategic Prayer’, and if that doesn’t sound like something all of us need then I don’t know what is. God has produced something through her that makes the Devil shake in his boots because if there is anything that the devil doesn’t want is a world full of Fervent prayer warriors who wont stand for any of his meddling.

Right, let’s get into this.

What is prayer?

Well, like I said before prayer is your number one weapon to use in your spiritual journey, and BONUS, it is your means of communication and petition to God. It can be anything from thanking God for the lovely lady next door, asking for God’s blessing over your day to fully fledged battle plans against the works of the Enemy.

Yet, so often we find ourselves stuck in a box with our prayers. We pray the same thing every day with no enthusiasm behind us or any passion at all. We get stuck in a pattern of praying because we ‘want to stay good christians’ or because ‘it’s the right thing to do’. Maybe you are only a ‘Reactive Prayer’ and are able to pray passionately when you need God to help you out, but when your life is going fine.. He slips into the background and your prayers are silent. I am guilty of all of the above, and i’m pretty sure i’m not alone in that.

So, how do you pray? and more specifically… how do you pray and not sound like a broken record?

Priscilla uses a really helpful acronym ‘PRAY’ to teach us how to pray along the same lines as ‘The Lords Prayer’ in Matthew.

P: Praise, Let your heavenly father know that He is amazing, and you are thankful to be His. Every Father likes some kind words from their kids every now and again but no father deserves praise as much as our Father, the King of Kings.

R: Repent, we all screw up from time to time. No God doesn’t get angry, as the bible tells us that He is ‘slow to anger and rich in love’. By repenting you are cleaning your slate and giving Him your wrong doings which He will lovingly take away from you and make you new again.

A: Asking. God wants us to ask Him for our needs and desires.  Matthew 7v7 says, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you”. There is so much power in asking, and He wants us to do it, but make sure you give God the praise He deserves before you get to you.

Y: Yes! ‘All of God’s promises are Yes and Amen’. This is where it is great to pray over specific verses and scriptures that are relevant to your situation and show the promises of God. Praying verses as prayers are soooo powerful.

So that is how you should pray.. but what about the other logistics?

“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you”- Matthew 6v6.

Through this verse, recent teaching at my church and through ‘Fervent’ I have learnt that setting aside a time and a place for God in your day is crucial. Pastor Chris Hodges came to my Church Conference earlier this year and also did a sermon on Prayer where he talked about his time and place of prayer in his day. He gets up early and spends his first moments of the day with God and treats it like an appointment and prioritises it over other things he could be doing. Now, I really wanted to be able to get up super early and do my big prayer of the day at the start of my day, but i am the furtherest thing from a morning person and i’m sure i’m not the only one! So, I have started doing my big specific prayer at night.

When I say ‘Big specific prayer’ i’m not meaning that you shouldn’t pray throughout your day.. you should totally do that! I’m suggesting that you sit down at a particular time you have set aside to hang out with Jesus and be strategic and specific with your prayers,

By specific I mean being Proactive as well as Reactive in your prayer life.

Pray for future areas of your life and the lives of those you love. Pray against any areas that the devil could sever your relationships, be it in your family, your friendships for your relationship with your BF/GF/Marriage. Pray for your passions. Pray for your identity in Him. Pray over your past so it cannot hold you in guilt but instead ask Him to free you. Pray over the things that are weighing heavily on your shoulders. Pray over your hurts. Pray over your purity.

I would also encourage you to write your prayers down and stick them on your wall where you can see them every morning and go over them. Use specific prayers for specific areas of your life to be your strategy against the works of the enemy whose aim is to steal from you, kill you and destroy you. He is powerful, but no where near as powerful as the Lord your God who has already won the battle and Has given you prayer to help you fight yours.

The state our world is in is evident that there needs to be more prayer and less fear and it is up to us to not let our weapon of prayer grow dusty on the shelf… No effective warrior goes into battle empty handed.

PRODUCE 101 - EVIL EDITING

i feel like i need to say something here, because i see some comments irrationally shooting off about mnet’s infamous ‘evil edits’.

as someone who has worked for reality tv shows, lemme say that mnet is doing a decent (maybe even great?) job in editing a colossal show like produce 101. and i say this because it’s so LABORIOUS to edit a show with a hundred contestants. this means sitting through 101 interviews, picking soundbites from 101 contestants, and scrummaging through TONS of footage from god knows how many cameras. AND having to create a cohesive narrative from the massive amount of footage, while still trying to give 101 contestants a decent amount of screen time. ON TOP of working against the clock (seriously the first ep aired barely 2 months from the first shoot date). i don’t even want to imagine the amount of hours the crew spend on set.

we can all agree that it isn’t very fair on the trainees who work hard day and night, and they’re the ones eventually getting the short end of the stick. but this is first and foremost, a reality show. people need to be entertained. if your favs aren’t very interesting to watch or don’t fit into any story line, they don’t get screen time. it’s as easy as that. and it works the other way round as well, the producers will focus on trainees who have a clear narrative. (reference to the ep where one of the 2pm cover groups mentioned that no taehyun’s interview took very long)

whether they’re being portrayed negatively or positively, really depends on what the trainees do and what will be more entertaining for the audience to watch. they also take into account a trainee’s popularity and will obviously let people see who they want to see.

TLDR: P101 is just a reality show. it’s more show than it is reality, so take everything with a grain of salt and just enjoy the ride.
