SIX YEARS OF LITTLE MIX
→  day six: best moment you’ve experienced while being a fan

  • april 10/11, 2017: what i like to call ‘little mix takes new orleans’. the time when the girls came to new orleans, went on an adventure, and then i got to see them live for the dangerous woman tour.

anonymous asked:

Writing prompt: Wolfgirl and catgirl become girlfriends.

Only on the full moon?”

“Yeah. And even then it’s not… pleasant. It takes a lot out of me. Going to work the next day is always hellish. I try to call out most of the time but if I do it too much my boss’ll get suspicious.”

She flicked her tail in poorly disguised distaste. “That sounds awful. Heck, no wonder it took me so long to find you.”

The woman pushed back ink black bangs. Her fingers caught on a burr and she set about trying to remove it, though she suspected it was a futile effort. The other touched her hand, a wordless offer.

“You looked for me?”

“‘Course. I mean, I couldn’t exactly put out a ‘missed connections’ for a wolf girl.” Seamlessly she shifted, muzzle elongating just slightly and taking on a far toothier grin. She made it look natural, less like a transformation and more like an unveiling, as if the paws and claws had been there all along, plainly visible should one bother to look for them.

She leaned in and the dark-haired were froze. “What are you doing?”

“What’s it look like?” she laughed, and slowly dragged her tongue over the tangled mess of curls, ignoring her unsettled squirming. After a few passes, the burr came loose. “It’s an old trick passed down through the ages. Grooming is very important if you’re going to be romping through the woods like you do.”

Oh. She tried not to look disappointed. “That sounds unsanitary.”

“Hey, my mouth’s probably cleaner than yours, dog breath.”

“I do not have dog breath.” She didn’t, did she?

The cat laughed. “I was just kidding but, look, you have to own stuff like this. It’s not always clean or pretty, but it’s our nature. It’s your nature. I admit I don’t know the specifics of what you’re going through, but if it turns out you or ‘your wolf’ like grooming or catching birds or headscratches like I do, well, now you know where to find me.”

In an instant she was restored, the woman with close-cropped blonde hair in place of fur and faint freckles in place of whiskers dotting the dimpled corners of her ever-constant smile. She was a sunny soul, and more genuine than the mischievous gleam in her eyes would suggest. And the wolf did in fact enjoy the occasional headscratches so, why not?

Simone Veil, the woman who fought for and managed to legalize abortion in France, died this morning shortly before her 90th birthday.
She was Jewish and an Auschwitz survivor (she lost her parents and brother there), as well as definitely pro-European Union.
She was a wonderful woman who went through so much and gave French women so much more. She had so many insults hurled at her when she was fighting for abortion but she never backed down. She was an inspiration to me and my first step into feminism. I will miss her forever.

Podcast Recs

So I’ve recently gotten into podcasts and I decided to make a list of all my favorites in order to spread the love.

Welcome to Night Vale: The first podcast everyone listens to. About a small desert community where strange and fantastical things occur on a daily basis. Comedic and introspective with horror elements. And a lot of positive POC, LGBT, and disabled representation (including a lesbian hijabi Muslim!!! A girl in a wheelchair who pulls off a heist!!! A sarcastic, British agender sheriff!!! A little African American girl who reads books and saves an entire town!!!!) 10/10 recommend.

EOS 10: A medical comedy set in in space. Amazing. It takes a few episodes to really get interesting, so if you listen I would suggest listening to at least the fourth episode. Nobody is straight, and it’s wonderful and I would die for each character. Also, Dr. Urvidian. Trust me.

Alice Isn’t Dead: By the some of the same people who did Night Vale. A creepy, haunting story about a woman driving trucks across the country to search for her missing wife. It’s incredibly set up, and so well-written. Warning: some gory imagery and description of murder. Also, WOC protagonist and pretty much all women.

Within the Wires: GUYS. This story was incredible. The format’s really unique: it’s set as a series of relaxation cassettes that slowly reveal the history between the narrator and the listener. It’s GREAT. Seriously, give this one a listen. It’s actually really relaxing between all the bombshells about the plot. It’s also by one of the guys that writes Welcome to Night Vale, so of course it’s gay.

The Penumbra Podcast: This is another one that’s hard to describe, but it’s a collection of stories, a different one every episode. Some are recurring, but some are stand-alone. SUCH amazing representation here, and funny/creepy storylines. There’s a nonbinary bisexual MOC, a Native American wlw BANDIT, a knight with a physical disability, women with actually good characterization, and a lot more. How often do we see that?

The Bright Sessions: Basically superheroes who go to therapy. Good acting, cool storylines, a cute romance. Again, lots of representation. Realistic depictions of mental illness and PTSD. And bisexual, lesbian, gay, and asexual rep!!!

Wolf 359: A story about the crew of a spaceship circling the Wolf 359 star. At first I thought this was a comedy, but it got dark pretty fast. The characterization is great. The story is comedic and gritty and fast-paced, and I would die for Isabelle Lovelace. If you like space shenanigans and found family, this one’s for you.

Kakos Industries: This podcast is hilarious. It takes the format of a corporation’s monthly shareholder announcements. Only this corporation, headed by the legendary Corin Deeth III, helps you “do evil better.” It might disturb you a bit though, so if you don’t like sex jokes, murder, and swearing, stay away from this one.

The Orbiting Human Circus of the Air: A weird little show by Night Vale Presents that’s really hard to describe, but it includes an absolutely wonderful narrator, the cutest protagonist, and amazing side characters. The format’s cool as well, so I recommend giving it a listen. (also the main character’s a mlm!)

Reasons you should be watching The Bold Type

The Bold Type is a new show on Freeform about three girls working at a feminist fashion magazine, just trying to live their lives. On first glance, it looks like the epitome of white feminism, but I think it will prove to be much more than that. Here’s some reasons too tune in:

1. Aisha Dee is in it. She’s amazeballs and if you haven’t seen her in Chasing Life or Sweet/Vicious, you’ve been missing out on life. She’s completely the reason I tuned in.

2. They had a Muslim woman actually explain why she wears her hijab. And why doing so makes her a feminist. When have you ever seen that before?

3. Did I mention that said hijab-rocking woman is a lesbian activist? Who it looks like is going to have a romance with Aisha Dee’s character?

4. They all work at a magazine and the boss is giving off serious Cat Grant vibes. Like badass woman with hardcore bonding heart-to-hearts with Katie Stevens’ character.

5. Oh yeah, Katie Stevens is totally in it. Faking It throwback anyone? She’s a new writer for the magazine who would rather cover serious topics than frilly ones.

6. They talk about owning your sexuality, with one of the girls standing up to her friends about it being her who gets to decide whom she sleeps with. Not to mention they talk about vaginas and vibrators. And a woman literally gets arrested for possessing sex toys.

7. THE FRIENDSHIP. The three main leads are adorably close. They bring champagne to work to celebrate a friend’s promotion, give random pep talks in the middle of the night, and help each other stalk exes, and its kinda hilarious?

8. I’m not going to deny it has some wrinkles to iron out, but if you don’t give it a chance to grow we may never see that. This is honestly the feminist show everyone is always wanting, so give it a chance before it goes the way of Sweet/Vicious, and we regret the missed opportunity.

yall mind if i

mon el is an ugly ass white fuckboy bitch who used to own slaves and misses objectifying women and throws a temper tantrum whenever things dont go his way or he’s faced w the reality that kara is a strong woman and doesnt need his selfish egoistical ass “protecting her” and i cant wait until he fucking dies probably choking on his own man-pain-guilt-tripping bullshit that makes all these dumbasses on this website wet their panties and run their mouths talking shit about characters that are clearly superior to that stupid fuckboy they love so much and thats the tea on that!

I’m only 13 weeks but I’ve already got a little bump growing and you can kind of tell I’m preggo, and today at work this sweet little old lady notices and starts talking to me about her pregnancy and giving me advice and things.

She asks me if I’m going to breastfeed and I say that I’m going to try, and she tells me to take a washcloth and rub it over my nipples to help toughen them up because it’s going to hurt a lot. I nod along and she tells me about breastfeeding her son and it’s just a really nice conversation.

Anyway, a man is standing behind her in line and my coworker takes his check and starts cashing it while I’m still talking to the nice lady. The man gives us both mean looks but I ignore him and continue to listen to this sweet woman tell me about how she’s had four children and breastfeeding each one was different but the washcloth trick made it much easier. Finally, the man clears his throat INCREDIBLY loudly and me and the woman turn to look at him.

“I don’t really want to hear about what you’re talking about.” He says and I’m instantly embarrassed. But, without missing a beat the woman reaches out and puts her hand over mine and glares at the man over her glasses.

“Then don’t listen to other people’s conversations.” She says, and it’s so hard not to smile even though the man got really pissed off. Thank you kind little old lady, for the advice and for reminding me that there’s nothing wrong with talking about breastfeeding. It’s nothing to be ashamed of and I need to remember that.

Lover Man
Billie Holiday
Lover Man

“My mind was filled with that great song “Lover Man” as Billie Holiday sings it; I had my own concert in the bushes. “Someday we’ll meet, and you’ll dry my tears, and whisper sweet, little things in my ear, hugging and a-kissing, oh what we’ve been missing, Lover Man, oh where can you be…” It’s not the words so much as the great harmonic tune and the way Billie sings it, like a woman stroking her man’s hair in soft lamp-light.” – Jack Kerouac, On The Road.

Liam Sharp put up a beautiful cover for Wonder Woman #25, his final issue, complete with smiling Diana. When some fans expressed a desire to see Steve included in this cast of characters, our co-fan/beloved WW artist immediately rectified the situation, with a side of extra shirtlessness.

LIAM SHARP: GIVING THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT

My Soldier

Here we go! My first Alex imagine! Hope you like it as much I enjoyed writing it! Leave your comments behind, I’d appreciate it very much! (Picture doesn’t belong to me! I found it on google pictures!)

“(Y/N) my dear, can you hang up the laundry outside, please? I’m quite busy with preparing lunch.”

“Of course, Anne.”  The young woman responded to her future mother-in-law, making her way towards the bathroom. She took a hold of the laundry basket where the freshly washed laundry was neatly folded and put in, then carrying it to the backyard. The weather was beautiful, a perfect summer day and the sun was shining warmly on the sky, not even a single cloud was to be seen.  (Y/N) loved days like this. It changed her mood to a better one. And now that war had taken place, she needed a little distraction even more.

She walked through a sea of different flowers, feeling them brushing her uncovered legs and the touch left a comfortable sensation behind. When she arrived to the hanger, she placed the basket to the ground, bent down and grabbed the first piece of clothes and hung them up, attaching it with two clothes pegs. As she continued doing her task, her mind easily drifted to the young man that she loved with all her heart.

It was not a long time ago that he left off for war but for (Y/N) it felt like a whole eternity. Living without him for a special amount of time was a deep agony. She missed him being around her. His smile, his eyes, his hugs and even his terrible jokes. When Alex told her and his family that he was going to fight against the Germans, it crushed (Y/N)’s heart. She knew letting him go was a huge risk, he might never come back to her, safe and sound. And they were very close to marrying each other. (Y/N) had been so excited to finally settling down with him, living a live as a married couple. But Alex was needed, she was aware of it, every young man in the village they’d been living in was needed there to help their French brothers. And (Y/N) could do nothing against it. She knew pretty damn well that if Alex wouldn’t leave, people would talk about them behind their backs, even shaming them that their children had to fight but Alex was not.

Anne took the news for more badly than (Y/N). She fainted right after Alex made the announcement and when she woke up again, it took all of their strength to calm her down. (Y/N) couldn’t blame her for it, she raised her son after all and if (Y/N) was a mother, she would have probably reacted the same way. She promised Alex that she would stay with his family as long as she could to take care of them and support them, but he had to promise her that he would come home back to her.

“You have to.” She forced out crying, clinging onto his body. “You have to come back to me. Otherwise I wouldn’t know how to live without you.” He kissed her deeply as a promise for his return.

“I’ll see you hopefully soon.” He told her before he went out of the house.

Not a long time ago she had received his last letter. He told her that he was alright and a heavy stone fell from her heart. He described about the hard times he went through and how many times he had faced death but still was alive. “For you.” He wrote. “I’m alive for you, my love.”

(Y/N) couldn’t remember how many times she read all of his letters with tears in her eyes. Reading his own words felt like he was still there with her, whispering them into her ear. This was the only way she could calm down for a while. Plenty of times she had raised her hands up to the sky, praying to god that he would send Alex back to her. She knew Alex was strong and willing to fight. He had the heart of a lion.

She had read in the newspaper that three hundred thousand soldiers were saved and made their way home to their families. If Alex was among them, she couldn’t know. They had fortunately not received any bad message of his death. So she hoped whole-heartedly that he was in one of those trains that carried him back to her.

(Y/N) pitied the fallen soldiers. Their families were waiting for them like she did, but the only thing they would be confronted with would be an announcement that their son couldn’t make it. She respected their braveness, and she would always keep them in her prayers.

While (Y/N) was still doing her task and being deep in thoughts, a young soldier was sneaking his way toward her, paying attention to not making any sounds that would reveal his position. He held a large bouquet of her favorite flowers in his hands. Seeing her again in real after countless nights of dreaming about her made his heart jump in his chest and he was more in love with her than ever. The last steps were always the agonizing ones but he also crossed this obstacle.

(Y/N) suddenly felt a pair of hands covering her eyes, preventing her from doing her work.

“What the hell?” She exclaimed, as she saw nothing but darkness, her body stiffening immediately from the touch.  “Who in god’s name is that?”

“You can guess three times.” She heard someone whisper into her ear delicately. A wave of different emotions was overwhelming every part, every cell and every fiber of her body. Happiness, excitement, love, relief. Everything at once. She knew exactly who was right behind her.

“A-Alex?” She whimpered, tears flooding down her cheeks. The hands released her eyes and she was able to turn around. And as she looked into two familiar green eyes that she longed to see so terribly, she could finally breathe again.

“Oh my goodness!” She gasped, covering her mouth with both hands. Heavy sobs left her mouth and before the young man in front of him could respond, she threw herself at him, crying on his shoulder. Alex wrapped his arms around her tiny frame, pulling her towards him. Having her in arms again after all the horror he went through was an indescribable feeling. Both clung onto each other like their lives depended on the other one. Once (Y/N) back away slightly, she took his handsome face between her hands.

“You came back. You really came back. Dear god, I can’t believe it!” She peppered every centimeter of his face with affectionate kisses before she captured her lips with his. “Oh my god! Thank you! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Thank you so so much!” She hugged him again tightly.

“Love, easy!” Alex laughed. “Let me breathe.”

“I’ve been worried sick about you.” (Y/N) admitted, easing her grab on him. “You didn’t send any letters anymore and I thought I lost you. Oh my god!”

“It’s over now, darling. I’m here. I’m back and I’m not planning on leaving any time soon.” He kissed her lightly. “I kept my promise, didn’t I?” He handed her over the bouquet of flowers which created a smile on (Y/N)’s lips.

“I love you, Alex. So much.”

“I love you too, beautiful.” He said. “Where is mother? I missed her terribly.”

“She’s inside, preparing lunch. Jesus, she will be out of her shoes when she sees you again.” She intertwined their fingers and dragged him into the house. “Come on, let’s go surprise her. She’ll love this one.”

When they entered the house, (Y/N) called after her second mother. “Anne? Are you still in the kitchen?”

“Yes, love! Lunch is almost ready. If you could help me laying the table that would be very lovely, my dear.”

Alex’ eyes shone brightly as he heard the sound of his mother’s voice again. It was not only (Y/N)’s but her voice in his head that encouraged him during the battles. He indicated (Y/N) to be quiet whereas she nodded with her head.

He slowly stepped into the kitchen where his lovely mother was doing the last preparations for the meal. Anne hadn’t noticed him yet. She was quite busy with running back and forth, looking for spices for the salad.

“What smells so good in here?” He asked innocently, making his mother freeze in her position. She thought first that she misheard his voice but when she looked up to the door where the young man stood, she couldn’t believe what she saw. Her whole body began to tremble.

“Jesus Christ!” Anne exclaimed, running towards her son. “My boy, my baby!” She cried.

“Hello, mother.” Alex mumbled, hugging her and kissing her head gently.

“Oh my baby boy, you’re here! Are you okay? Are you hurt?” She was looking for any bruises on his skin.

“Mum, I’m fine, don’t you worry.”

“Alex.” The older woman sighed. “I missed you so much, my son.”

“I missed you, too mother.”

(Y/N) was gazing at this mother-son moment with new tears in her eyes and a smile on her lips.

“You won’t leave again, will you? You’ll stay here?” Anne asked worried.

“No mum, I’ll stay here. I’m not going anywhere.”

Anne sighed in relief and led her hands to her face to wipe away all the tears that ran down her cheeks.

“Oh my, you’re surely hungry, aren’t you? Where is (Y/N)? (Y/N)?! “ She looked at her.

“Yes?” She asked.

“The table. The table is waiting for you!”

“Your wish is my command , madam!” She saluted with a laugh and with Alex she prepared the dining table where afterwards they had a very nice time together.

***

She felt him stir again in his sleep. This happened very often since he came back home. Every night he would fidget back and forth in his position, crying out for help because he was tormented by nightmares. (Y/N) knew that war had changed him a lot no matter how much he tried to cover it. Nothing would be the same anymore. His body twitched at every tiny little sound but he tried to pretend like it wouldn’t bother him. He tried to be the man that he was before he left, but (Y/N) knew by heart that this man was not there anymore. She was willing to help him. To help him fight against the bad memories that he made.

She supported herself on her elbows, glancing at Alex. Turning on the night lamp beside her, she noticed that his whole body was covered with sweat.

“No, don’t shoot… Please…” She heard him whimpering in his sleep. “Please, don’t shoot… no.. no..” His expression showed a hint of distress and fear. “Help… help me… please…”

“Alex?” (Y/N) shook his shoulder slightly to wake him up, to save him from this agony. “Alex, darling wake up.”

“Help…Help… please help me…” Alex kept whining over and over again.

Seeing him in a state like this, all vulnerable and terrified, tore her heart apart. She couldn’t bear to see him hurt and in pain.

“Wake up, Alex. It’s only a dream. Wake up.” She shook much harder and harsher, causing him to finally open his eyes. Alex panted heavily, looking at her with fright.

“(Y/N)?” His chest lifted and fell heavily, while he tried to regain his breath.

“It’s okay, my dear.” She brought him to an embrace. “It was only a nightmare. You’re safe, my love. You’re safe.” She ran her fingers through his hair, a gesture that would calm him down. “It’s okay, Alex. Everything is fine. You’re home. You’re safe.”

“I thought I was back there. I really thought I was going to die.” He sniffled.

“No, darling. Look at me.” She laid her hands on his cheeks. “Everything is okay, Alex. You’re home, not back there. You’re home with me, your mother and your father.”

Her words made him calm down for a little bit. His tensed body relaxed.

“You made it alive out there, my hero.” (Y/N) said.

“I’m not a hero.” Alex mumbled.

“Yes, you are. You did everything that you could to defeat the enemy Alex. You kept fighting for justice and safety. I really desire you bravery and your strength , my dear. You faced death so many times but yet you’re alive. You never gave up. You just went on and on. And I don’t know anyone who is as selfless and willing as you are. I admire you.”

She offered him a soothing smile.

“You may not have won this war, but you gave everything that you have, my love. War does not always mean winning but also losing. One side always loses. But I’m sure the Germans soon will be defeated and the deaths of the fallen ones will be revenged.”

She put kiss on his temple.

“You’re going to heal, my love. I promise. You may not forget what you went through and I don’t expect you to do so but you will be better after a time. Not today, not tomorrow and the day after. But you will heal. And until then I’m going to support you, hold you, trying to do everything you want me to.”

Alex nodded his head, feeling far more better from the words that she spoke.

“We’re going to beat every nightmare that you have. I’m always there, lying next to you and keeping you safe.”

“I love you, (Y/N). I can’t wait to marry you.”

“I love you too and I can’t wait to marry you.” She responded. In a few weeks, they would be bonded forever and both of them were looking forward to it. With (Y/N) on his side, Alex knew that he was complete. She was his life safer. His light that guided him through darkness.

They laid down again, talking about their wedding, future children and everything that their heart desired until they fell to a deep slumber. With (Y/N) in his arms, Alex was finally at peace.

I’ve seen a lot of distasteful reactions about Waverly saying “I like you” instead of “I love you,” and I have Some Thoughts™ about it.

First of all, you do you. If it didn’t jive with you, it didn’t jive. But, please, hear me out on this.

They’re in a tumultuous spot in their relationship. They’ve just had their first big fight, and Waverly’s feeling super unsure about where they stand. So, at the start of the episode, she shamelessly flirts with Nicole, and Nicole shuts her down. Hard. This is the first time we’ve ever seen anything remotely like this ever happen between them. Even in 2x01 when Nicole denied her kiss at the end, it was till relatively soft. “This is my job” and then a brusque exit by Nicole had to leave Waverly feeling like a breakup might be coming. She’s used to everyone leaving her, remember?

It’s such a drastic thing for her that later, when Nicole stops kissing her because she hears Wynonna about to walk in on them, Waverly’s first instinct is, Oh, we’re still fighting. Even when Nicole says, Nope, we’re not, there’s just someone coming, Waverly believes that she was looking for a way out the whole time. “She wanted to leave.” This is not a woman who is secure in her relationship.

So, later, when Nicole comes in and they finally have a minute where they’re truly alone, Nicole gives her these applications in order to support her and tells her that she’s all in - that, if Waverly wants her, she’ll be by her side forever. That Waverly is the one in charge of them being together because Nicole is all in. It’s good news, and it’s a boost to Waverly’s confidence, but their history over the past few days is a lot to overcome.

When she tells Nicole “I like you,” you can hear her falter. She 100% hesitates. I’m convinced that in her head, the words “I love you” were rattling around, but they’re about to take a huge step, and Waverly’s nervous. So nervous, that she looks down and completely misses Nicole’s “I like you too,” which to anyone not in Waverly’s state of uncertainty is a not-very-well disguised “I love you, too, Waverly, and you have no idea how much.” Nicole has probably loved her for a long time, but is once again waiting for Waverly to make that first move. Because Nicole Haught is a patient, considerate woman who would never want to push Waverly into something she’s not ready for.

And Waverly totally misses it. It’s okay because Nicole is trying to communicate what she feels with how gentle and soft she’s being. They’ve both got a lot of personal stuff that they’re dealing with outside one another, and the thing that’s about to happen between them in monumental. It’s Waverly’s first time with a woman, and it’s so stupidly obvious that Nicole has been thinking about this for a long time and has been trying to cool her jets until Waverly’s 100% sure.

So, the “I like you” fits where they’re at perfectly, in my opinion. It’s not saying that Waverly has changed her mind about how she feels (I think it’s pretty clear that she’s more in love than ever), but things have felt shaky enough between them over the past few days that she’s not completely sure how Nicole will respond. Maybe she thinks it might be too fast. Maybe she’s afraid Nicole might pull away. It’s a delicate situation, and it felt super real to me. Real couples don’t always know 100% of the time what the other one is thinking, and sometimes they can be afraid that they’re not on same page, even if they totally are.

anyway i think I’m a DC stan now so that’s what Wonder Woman did to me
