You could come with me. I can’t. You say that every time. And you say “I can’t” every time. Because I can’t. But the movie’s almost over, and then you can come back to Tree Hill, and we can finally be together, right? Yes, of course.
“When I think of everyone else out there in the world that goes through their life alone, and then I think of all the amazing years I got to spend with my beautiful, beautiful best friend, Brooke Davis… I kinda feel sorry for everybody else.”
It’s the oldest story in the world. One day you’re 17 and planning for someday. And then, quietly, and without you ever really noticing… someday is today. Then someday is yesterday. And this is your life.
“There is a tide in the affairs of men, which taken at the flood, leads
on to fortune but omitted, and the voyage of their life is bound in
shallows and miseries. On such a full sea are we now afloat and we must
take the current when it serves or lose the ventures before us.“

while I can certainly see why people see parallels between them, with them both being mysterious creatures with beautiful big watery eyes, now even revealed to reside in the same space… I never bought it. For several really SMALL reasons actually, like them being different species, the Origin Dragons in human shape being unlikely due to magic mechanics, one being female and another male, them existing in the same space but still seperated by quite a bit, as it was revealed lately…
Night 276 STILL goes heavy on the parallels though:
I wasn’t so surprised by Mother Dragon’s seeming indifference to the tiny world of the new humans - she is a much higher being after all. However, this reaction of resignation struck me as a little unexpected, but very familiar:
yeah, Yunan, has the same tired, resigned point of view, and his words mirror hers in 276 closely:
so where am I going with this, if I don’t believe they are the same being?
maybe they’re not THE same, but similar:
being a possible parallel to this:
While I don’t think Yunan IS Mother Dragon, he might be an aspect of her, given human shape, which was one of my original ideas, but for what reason?
I am probably overthinking this, but what if he is another of her kind? Existing in human shape in the New World similar to the Red Lions/Fanalis, but possibly haven forgotten about his origins? Or thinking, just like Mother Dragon, he’s the last of his kind?
WHAT IF THEY ARE EVEN FAMILY?
What if they’ve been feeling hopeless and lonely and sad and lost all on their own, when all that seperated them was a walk of a mere 40 human years?
“She’s being challenged in ways that you hope to God no one will ever have to be challenged, and finding out if she is going to come out on the other side as a warrior with scars or if the circumstance is going to swallow her whole. It’s intense.” - Bethany Joy Lenz
