Once Upon a Time Eyes Musical Episode for Spring — Who Will Sing?

Will Grumpy and the rest of Once Upon a Time‘s dwarfs finally sing about whistling while they work? Will erstwhile cricket Dr. Archie Hopper let loose with a tune about wishing upon a star?

“Be prepared” (as Scar might croon), because such melodic mysteries might be addressed during Season 6. TVLine hears that the fantastical, fairy tale-themed ABC series is currently planning a musical episode, to air sometime this spring. And to that end, some cast members are actively brushing up on their vocal skill

Having weaved in characters from Frozen, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and other musical Disney features over the years, talk of Once cuing up a musical episode has always brewed, with series cocreator Eddy Kitsis saying as recently as the 2015 Comic-Con, “It would be great to do a musical episode, [but] I don’t know even know where to begin.”

Well, it would seem that the show bosses figured that one out.

As for who all would step up to the proverbial mic, “We all sing,” Once lead Jennifer Morrison told E! Online back in 2011 when asked about the possibility of a musical outing. “Josh Dallas, Ginny Goodwin, me…. I don’t know if Robert Carlyle sings; he probably does. I feel like we have a lot of musically inclined people in the cast. We’ll see!” Indeed.

Once Upon a Time resumes Season 6 on Sunday, March 5.

“Sometimes I can inhabit a feisty, vicious character. Sometimes I can inhabit a painfully shy British girl, or whatever it might be. I’m able to step into these other parts of myself. I feel like, as long as I keep doing that in my career, and I keep tapping into different parts of the human condition, that’s all I ask for.”

The Contest-Part 12

To celebrate Supernatural’s 15th season, the producers have decided to hold a contest to cast an unknown in a recurring role as Sam’s rumored love interest. They are doing open casting calls all over the country. Your best friend Nikki wants to go and she drags you along.

A/N:  My inspiration for Nikki is the one and only Red, @oriona75 . So I’m actually telling two stories here, Jared and Y/N’s, and Sam and Gemini’s.  It flips back and forth, so try and keep up! :)

Characters: Reader, Best friend Nikki (OC), Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Mark Sheppard, Cliff, Emily (OC) other Supernatural cast and crew

Part 1 (all parts are linked)

Jared had told Andrew who he thought the returning guest star might be.  It turns out he was right.  Andrew asked him not to share his guess with anyone else because he probably shouldn’t have said anything until they had secured the actor for sure.  Jared agreed.

It was driving Jensen nuts that Jared knew and he didn’t.  He tried everything.  He begged.  He tried bribing him.  Jared wouldn’t cave.  He threatened to beat the shit out of him.  Jared just laughed.  Then he got creative.  First he said he would get Nikki drunk and make her throw up on him again.  Then Jensen told him that he would tell me all kinds of incriminating stuff about him from before we started dating.

“I’m not telling you, Jay. I promised Andrew I wouldn’t.  Sorry, Man.”  Jared told him, not looking a bit sorry.

“Stop being a baby, Jensen.  We’re in the dark as much as you are.” Nikki complained, glaring at Jared.

“You can still tell me the incriminating stuff though.” I chimed in.

Jensen gave us a classic Dean scowl.  “I hate you all.” Then he stomped off towards his trailer.

“I don’t know either, Jay!  And you don’t see me throwing a tantrum!”  I called to his retreating back.  He gave me the finger as he walked away.

“Love you too, Jensen!” I yelled as Nikki and I dissolved into a fit of giggles

Peg and Sylvia in Kingdom Hearts

Man I’ve been waiting for the right opportunity to upload this baby, but now is as good as a time as ever! In celebration with the long awaited release of Kingdom Hearts 2.8 and in celebration of Kingdom Hearts’s 15th Anniversary, I give you Peg Pete and Sylvia Marpole Nomurafied!

Thanks to @aeolus06  when I commissioned him a few years ago for this idea, I always liked to picture some other Disney characters not only being a part of Kingdom Hearts, but also how they might contribute, so how else than give them different classes as you would in most RPG’s?

Peg is a fighter, ala Tifa Lockheart of FF7, where she uses her strength and sheer willpower as a force to be reckoned with when protecting those she loves…though still might wanna watch out for her secret weapon as she points out how she deals with Pete…

Sylvia from An Extremely Goofy Movie I figure would be more of a white mage. She’d casts powerful spells to protect her friends and provide reliable healing spells (hey, she outta be a better healer than Donald in the actual games, am I right guys?)

Hope you guys enjoy this fun bit of imaginative lunacy as I go play 2.8!

That felt like a little movie. What a rollercoaster… Surprise, sadness, laughs, thrills, and S U F F E R I N G

Bismuth is a very likeable and complex character, and the way this episode presented her was just masterful. She so swiftly felt like a cohesive part of the cast, and just as swiftly felt like a believable and sympathetic antagonist.

And beyond Bismuth’s excellence, we got some fascinating insights into Rose and the Rebellion, some kick-ass background music, and great moments with the other Gems. Not to mention stunning development for Steven.

This… was good. Really good. Really, really fucking good. As a whole, it might just be the single best episode of them all.

I rate episode 98, Bismuth, an 11/10. I think everyone expected this, and I hate to disappoint.

Well. I guess I’ll take a full hour to catch up on Discord, then spend a few hours chatting on Discord, then spending a few hours answering Asks, then crying myself to sleep.

Until next time. The end of Season 3 approaches swiftly.

Could Shiro be a clone? Or could he have been revived from the dead? And is he a unknowing Mole?

I know this is an odd question to ask but I’m going to put this out there. There’s a possibility that Shiro may be a clone of himself and he’s not the real Shiro, or at least he might not be. There’s also the other possibility that he may not actually be alive, or at least alive in the strictest term.

You see I’ve been mulling over this for months and the thing is I’m having a heck of a time trying to figure out exactly what it is about Shiro that is rubbing me the wrong way. Don’t get me wrong I love the character he’s awesome, but there are a few things that just don’t add up for me in the right way.

For all intents and appearances, according to the cast of characters, Shiro is acting like himself –or at least according to Keith and Pidge who know him the best. However small things keep cropping up that make me think there’s more to this situation than meets the eye. To begin with let’s rule a few things out:

For starters we know that he’s not an alien in disguise for the pure fact that we’ve seen enough of him being in a situation where the ability to shift would have been removed, such as the first episode where he was rendered unconscious. In the last half of the series we saw that when Allura got knocked out her form reverted back to her original self, which probably means that a shifter alien would need to stay awake to keep his or her disguise going.

We can also rule out that he’s not someone else because of the fact that Keith and Pidge would have seen though that right away.

So then what exactly is he? Is he even the Shiro that we meet in the first episode? Well I’m starting to think there’s a possibility that he’s not exactly what we think he is. Oh he’s Shiro alright, just a Shiro that probably was either dead and is now alive or is a Clone of the original. Even if he is the “real” Shiro there’s still a high chance that he’s an unknowing mole, but we’ll get to that at the end.

Shiro as a Clone.

This one is more of a stretch then the other two but there are some hints that this could be real.

When we first meet Shiro in the first episode we learn that he’s a decent guy and someone that wants to protect the other two members of his crew. We also learn that he was taken to the cells and later was part of the gladiatorial games held by the Emperor. We also see he has no scar on his nose and that he’s got a black tuff of hair. This is kind of important to at least two of these theories.

When we later meet him after his “escape” we learn that he now has a mechanical arm which uses energy that shows the same pink color as the Galra Empire, proving that the arm was made by them, something that is confirmed by Hagar and indicated by Commander Sendak, who has the upgraded version of the arm. During Sendak’s fight with Shiro he mentions that they’re alike alluding to the fact that they both have arms. But what if it’s more than that? We know that Shiro blasted him off into space when he had his freak out later, but exactly what was the connection? Were they both Gladiators, or could they both be clones of the originals?

The thing about Shiro that makes me think we’re not looking at the original isn’t just the hair or the scar it’s the strange behavior. He recalls Keith but doesn’t know Pidge, even though you would think that he would figure that it has to be her since he was probably there when they took that picture. It’s only after he’s told by the prisoners about his past that he “recalls” Katie. Which is kind of strange. If it’s just a case of amnesia how is it that he’s able to recall Keith so easily but not Katie, the sister of one of his crew mates?

Now one of the other factors that does make me think that there’s the probability of cloning is the fact that he knows what the Galra are up to. You could argue that it’s just obvious but how? If he’s just being used in the fights, how is he getting that info? Thrace? Another character? However if part of his programming of the clone was to act as a decoy and it went off the programming then it would have firsthand knowledge about what the Galran was up to and would want to warn people.

There’s also the fact that he got the heck out of dodge so easily, and that his escape is so vague. If what Hagar says about him being built to be the ultimate weapon is true, then there’s a huge chance that his escape wasn’t an escape but rather a premeditated action to put a mole into the group early on. The fact that he doesn’t remember how he got out is weird enough, the fact that he does remember things that only have to do with the Galra is a bit suspect.

Later we see the inside of his suit glowing with that same pink energy that we saw with his arm, connecting it to the Galran. If he is human as we think, then why is that color there? Could his body be running on that energy and he doesn’t know it? Does he even sleep at all? We know that he was working out when the alert came in from Allura for the test but the fact remains that we’ve never seen him sleep, and only get knocked out.

The one thing that I keep coming back to though in regard to the possible clone option here is the fact that we know the Druids can put life into other forms. The Robeasts as we’ve seen were once aliens that attack the Voltron group as giant monsters. However, and this is important, their souls or minds are placed in the creatures by Haggar and allowed to attack. We know she can put the life of one being into such a creature over and over again. What’s to stop her from doing the same to a built clone body? We also know that the form she took as Shiro had the dark hair from when we first meet him, and the white tuff might be her way of distinguishing between the two.

We also have some other proof of the possibility of mind switching or body swapping. Emperor Zarkon is mentioned by Allura, who doesn’t recognize him and is shocked that he’s still alive. In the original series we know he lives on with yellow flowers and it gives him a longer life. However, because we know that Haggar can switch the souls of the aliens into robotic beasts then is it such a stretch to believe she could do the same for Zarkon, or any other person that she wants to, namely Shiro.

Shiro was dead and now brought back to life.

Again somewhat of a stretch but there’s some proof of this as a possibility.

We know that Shiro has memory loss and we know that physically his body was changed. We see the arm and know that there’s more to it as his side shows that there’s the pink energy on his torso. This could be indicating that more of his body was stripped away by Hagar, though we don’t know how much exactly.  Another indication that something’s up is the change in his hair color. Now this might seem odd, but how does hair indicates anything; well in some cases it does.

Some of you may or may not have heard of Jason Todd, the second Robin and all around jerk with the heart of Gold in DC comics. During the 80s he was killed off by the Joker and the character vanished for some time from the public mind. However a comic writer who was a fan decided to bring him back and resurrect him through the use of a mechanic that was in cannon, the Lazurus pit. This mystical pit was made by Ra’s Al Gul, one of Batman’s villains to allow himself to never die. His daughter used this on Jason Todd and brought him back from the dead.

What becomes interesting here is that when Jason took a dip in the pit, the front part of his hair turned white and he’s not the only one that has had something like this happen to him. Several characters are brought back from the dead with subtle differences to their appearance.

So could this be what happened to Shiro? He failed in a fight and rather than dispose of the body Hagar “fixed” him and brought him back with the additional arm? It would explain the memory loss as he lost time being dead and would actually keep true to the whole “Shiro is dead” thing from the original series.

We also saw that the Quintessence seems to be a life force, and Allura proved that you can revive a dead planet then could it very well be that pumping a body with the same stuff except corrupted could have brought Shiro back?

Shiro as the Unknown mole.

Simply put there’s a lot of clues that either Keith or Shiro is the mole without knowing it. Keith’s knife and his strange past, and Shiro’s arm.

I’m focusing on the arm right now because it’s the most likely culprit in this. Shiro’s arm starts off being a weapon, we know it’s been given to him by the Galra and that Haggar had intentions to turn him into a weapon of some sort. We also know that it’s probably got tech in there that they haven’t analyzed yet. More than likely that arm, given what it does and how it seems to be running on the corrupted energy of the Galra Empire probably is going to turn out to be a tracking device making Shiro an Unknown Mole among the troupe.

This would mean that the scene where Keith is shouting at him, or his vanishing act is him not dying but rather Shiro trying to get away from the group so that Zarkon can’t track them.

So there you have it. My short version of these theories. Hopefully Season two will give me more to digest.

Edit: Somewhere I think I mentioned that when Hagar attacked Shiro she looked like the original version of him. I was wrong, she had the tuft of white hair there. However I still maintain that if this is a clone that the hair color was done so that the Galra could know it’s not the real Shiro and that it’s a clone.

I was just thinking about Pearl the other day. On the one hand, she must be thrilled to be cast as the new companion. On the other hand, everything changes at end of year. Peter is leaving. Steven’s stepping down. Will her character have a place in the Chibnall Whoniverse? I imagine it might feel like winning a lifetime supply of jelly babies, then finding out there’ll be no more jelly babies made after 2017. 😯

Who’s your favorite? ;)

Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Luna Lovegood, Draco Malfoy, Sirius Black, Tom Riddle.

(( OOC: Since I’m trying to base this blog off of my version of Harry, (the version I had created in my mind before the movies came out.) I figured it might be fun to recreate a few other characters. ;) The movies were so brilliantly cast that there weren’t a lot of differences between the versions of the characters I had created in my head and the live-action cast, but this was definitely fun. ))

Hi:) Sorry to bother you, but I'm new in Cut&Run/Sidewinder fandom and I've just read Abi's ficlet: Drunk&Disorderly:) I was wondering how do you imagine Aidan, we know form P&P that he "was about Nick's height, with jet-black hair and a beard. He was fit and well-defined...". Which actor would you cast in this role?

Hi there!  Welcome to the group!

Yanno, I had never really thought about it, tbh.  I can’t find if Abi ever said who she had in mind (just that he was a character she never meant to write).

When you say jet-black hair, beard and fit - my mind automatically goes to Tyler Hoechlin

Maybe Gerard Butler?  (Although he’s a little older than I imagine Aidan to be)

Edit to say that since no obvious ethnic direction other than beard and black hair - and “boston” “fireman” and “aidan” all makes me think Irish ancestry, I didn’t add any PoC to the list.  But maybe Adam Rodriguez (Magic Mike),  Eduardo Verastegui or Ryan Guzman?

I remember a post on the other blog once mentioned how the designs in the SatAM/early Archie Sonic comics are better than the later redesigns that attempt to stay true to the franchise’s style.

Honestly? I’m inclined to disagree. A lot (wow big surprise).

While as a stand-alone design they might look a bit easier on the eye, context is important. You can’t just add new characters while ignoring the design of the original cast and think it’ll look good. And as the post-reboot Archie comics and Sonic Unleashed have shown us, it’s not hard to design new characters that fit in with Sonic’s cartoony style, and they won’t look bad at all!

Tell me, who looks like she belongs in the same universe as Sonic?

I do, actually! The other night I actually tried to sort each one of the ndrv3 characters just out of curiosity. I won’t go too far into detail, and I know plenty of people might have their own headcanons so it’s fine if anyone disagrees, but these are just the ones I came up with!

Asy I have a weird question. I want to write a thriller novel and include queer characters as mains (i.e. MC, and two people who are in love with MC; one is a villain, the other potentially a red herring). Their relationships are a big part of the story but I'm worried it'll perpetuate negative stereotypes/tropes, esp those regarding death. equally I really want to write lgbt characters in different genres and I'm not hugely keen on casting het dudes in those roles! What do you think?

(add on to previous message) main character is married to at least one of the “villains”. so all three are queer, to clarify - but all are very morally grey and at least one might die (I’m not sure yet)

Where possible, don’t have the queers die. Queers die enough, and there’s usually nothing achieved through death you can’t achieve some other way.

Don’t worry about using tropes, tropes in general are find as long as they’re not damaging and perpetuate negative stereotypes about the characters involved. eg, there’s nothing wrong with a fake dating trope, or a stuck in an elevator trope, but if you use the ugly & angry feminist lesbian trope (and portray the character as one-note and unsympathetic), then you’re doing harm.

Creating Distinct Personalities within a Large Cast of Characters

Anonymous said: hey! i’m writing a story and it’s centered on eight friend and telling their stories, problems and relationships between each other. they’re eight and i’m afraid that people might get lost or don’t remember them, most groups of friend on the media are of six people or five max seven, though i’m struggling to make each one special so they’re easy to remember but still. Eight friends are to many people? should i make the group smaller? thanks you’re a helpful page!

The cast of characters should be as large as it needs to be to tell the story. Full stop.

As far as making each character unique is concerned, your characters don’t have to be special snowflakes, as exclusive of one another’s personalities and interests as the Bratz dolls. You don’t need to separate your characters into neat tropes like The One Who Likes Sports and The One Who’s Super Into Science, etc, though that is a perfectly valid way to do things. Your characters’ differences can be more subtle.

For example, let’s look at eight Harry Potter characters: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, Ginny Weasley, Draco Malfoy, and Cho Chang. These are all pretty distinct characters in the Harry Potter series, but they each have things in common (or not) with the others which drives plot.

  • Draco is the foil of Harry, but both struggle under weight of society’s expectations.
  • Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, and Ginny were all sorted into Gryffindor, an indication that they are all brave and strong-willed (though it takes Neville a hot minute to work up to the strong-willed bit).
  • Cho Chang and Luna Lovegood are both Ravenclaws, so they both value wisdom. However, Luna is a loner, while Cho is popular.
  • While we’re on the subject of popularity, Draco and Ginny are both popular as well.
  • Both Ginny and Cho are described as beautiful. Both love to play Quidditch. Both date Harry at some point.
  • Harry and Neville were both born at the end of July. A prophecy made by Trelawney could have applied to either of them. They were both raised by someone other than their parents.
  • Harry and Ron both hate doing homework, while Hermione loves it. All three end up working for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
  • Luna and Draco are both blond. Ron and Ginny, siblings, are both redheads.

The list can go on and on. I guess my point (other than the fact that I love Harry Potter) is that each character can have a lot stuff, personality or otherwise, in common with the others while remaining unique. You would never mistake Luna for Cho, Hermione for Ginny, or Harry for Draco. They’re so different, and not because they fit neatly into boxes which cut away any connection they might have to each other, but because what they have in common affects each of their characters differently.

The other thing that each of these characters has in common is that they are important to the plot. If you take any one of them away, the plot is diminished. If you can take any of your characters away and still have a complete plot, do it. Simplify. If not, keep it as is.

I don’t know if this answers your question, but I hope it helps!

ok this is why i’m not a fan of jesse x wally. i’m not gonna act like the actors don’t have chemistry or that it’s an awful ~problematic~ ship. but jesse and wally being love interests has consequences for other characters.

i’d probably have no problem with the ship outside of thinking it might be leading to an overcrowding of speedsters in (earth 1) central city and a lack of heroes for earth 2 central city, if it weren’t for the context of the show. so unlike the comics, there’s a smaller amount of opportunities for characters to appear, especially secondary characters outside of the core cast. because jesse is a speedster, and the child of harrison wells, her presence is justified already. being the current love interest of wally (a core character) is a superfluous justification of her presence. the issue arises (especially with female characters on the show) when they’re love interests and aren’t speedsters.

just look at iris. when she wasn’t barry’s love interest (like season 2a) her screentime got cut excessively and she’s the top billed actress on the show, and second billed actor/actress all together. this happened despite her being a core character, and perhaps the most important character after barry (and maybe wally). and yes, due to the show being a superhero show, it makes sense to focus on the crime fighters, though the show has also shown that iris’ journalism can carry an entire episode. but until this season, iris rarely had storylines outside of her relationship with barry. and she’s the female lead.

and then you have linda park. in the comics she was really integral to wally’s journey as a hero. she was a sobering influence on him and at first didn’t like wally’s flash because she thought he was arrogant. she showed up in season 1 as barry’s love interest and foil for his relationship with iris. once she wasn’t his love interest she basically dropped off the map. and in season 2 she showed up in 3 episodes with a 2 episode arc and left long before wally first showed up. at this point its fair to say that unless she becomes wally’s love interest, she’s unlikely to return outside of maybe a few small appearances. which makes me sad because ignoring her comic relationship with wally, she’s a great character in her own right. similar to iris, she’s a brave reporter with a strong sense of justice, however is more bluntly honest than iris; she wasn’t afraid to call out barry or iris. i really want her back because i love her character, but i’d also really love to see her and wally together. in the comics she really helped shape wally as a hero and they made each other better.

tl;dr: i’m not a fan of jesse x wally as them being together means linda likely won’t show up given the flash typically only has female characters show up when they’re a love interest and/or need rescuing from the villain

besides c’mon how can you say no to this face?

In a perfect world we’d get Bravely Third and in the end everyone would be happy and have families and everything would be okay… But this is the real world so we should only expect them breaking our hearts even more, so I figured I’d give a shot at drawing some cute families to help accept our terrible fate ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

anonymous asked:

Which drama pairings would you like to see happen?

To be completely honest, I don’t really have those because whether you like a certain OTP isn’t something you can predict; it just happens - you feel the chemistry between the characters and the actors, the emotional connection, you like the story,… You might wish for two actors to act together but when they finally do it often turns disappointing in some ways, whereas on the other hand you see actors which you never would have imagined to act as a couple in a drama and you end up shipping them like there was no tommorow.

For instance, I always wished that Park Shin Hye would have been cast as Geum Jan Di in BOF instead of Gu Hye Sun, who turned Makino’s character into an infantile, cutesy parody of a teenage girl, which was particularly hard to swallow after Inoue Mao and Barbie Hsu were both so amazingly natural in that role. I still do wish PSH would have been cast; even though after seeing her and LMH together in Heirs there was something missing in that romance.

But to humor you, I’ve always hoped to see Lee Min Ho and Yoon Eun Hye as a dysfunctional OTP in some dark, twisted drama.
