German Eurosport commentator Sigi Heinrich just loves Shoma!
Sigi about Shoma: “He always looks so innocent but he is a sly old dog skating technically” (in German “…er hat es eiskunstlauftechnisch dick hinter den Ohren…”)
Then later during the replay:
“Can those eyes lie? Obviously not!“
The last thing Sigi said was: “You got to like him!”
Between all this he just ran out of words for how incredible and amazing he is!
(I try to add the video with German commentary soon, but it will take a while)
Briefly: there are a lot of writers who’ve built their skills early on by reading widely and copying other writers’ styles and techniques. (C.S. Lewis used to say that a good writer ought to be like a kid turned loose in somebody’s orchard: they should abscond with whatever’s to their taste, assuming they can carry it off.)
Anyway, I’m one of those writers. I am very acquisitive. By which I mean that if you’ve done something in a way that makes me appreciate the technique or style, I’ll steal the technique as soon as look at it, and be adapting it for my own purposes two minutes later. Or sooner.
Knowing that, there is no way I’ll read fanfics written in the YW universe. This may sound a bit bizarre, but for me a major source of satisfaction in my (YW and other) series work is that the developments in plot and character over time come out of my own head, not from commenting critics or fans. With this in mind, I don’t dare take the chance that I might lift concepts or themes from some fan’s work. It would break my heart to discover that something I thought was mine wasn’t original to me.
…There are also questions of legal exposure. Pro writers have in the past wound up in legal difficulties with fan writers who had given the pro access to their work (or were able to prove they’d had access to it). Granted, this is a lesser concern for me, because the YW fandom is the nicest fandom on Earth… but the whole issue’s easily avoided by just not reading any YW fanfic. So that’s the route I take.
Hope that makes sense to you, because it’s the way things are, and the way they’ll remain. :)
ppl selling stuff just knocked at the door and asked if my mum and dad were home and part of me was like Glad of an excuse not 2 have 2 speak to them and part of me was like excuse me,,,,,,,,,,,, i am an Adult™
Oh, well… it was the inevitable question I guess….
It was last year, I don’t remember too well what was happening or what was I talking about, but i know it had to do with Steven Universe and race or kins?.
So, someone (sorry for being vague but I don’t wanna put them in trouble) told me that I needed to admit that Amethyst was an stereotype of the “Wacky black women friend” and… I wasn’t feeling so good and I just had a post that talked about Stereotypes so I sort of did other one saying that I saw Amethyst more as a “Party-wrecker Latinx” and that stereotypes where unidimensional characters while Amethyst was not, I sounded a little mad because I was really tired and tbh it was my fault….
So… that pal took screenshots of my post an the answer i gave them and they made a post about it saying something like “Goopy-Ame is anti-black moodboard” and other junk calling me anti-black and tbh I was scared and confused because I really didn’t got it and I wasn’t fully aware.
Since the whole thing was on public I apologized on public… three times for my incompetence and my harmful behavior and offending people, since then I ask people to please PLEASE send me a private message before taking that step when I fuck up so i can learn because I am not perfect and I’m still learning, its not an obligation but theres a huge possibility that if i said something wrong is because i am not aware of it….
What she means:
Heather Duke has a jeep, why did Macnamara have to ride the bus? Sure Duke was an ass, but did she really make her friend ride the bus? Unless she didn't have her license, but in that case, did she also ride the bus? I mean I don't think that would fly with her, right? She would bitch at her parents to give her some other way. But would she really still make her so called friend still ride the bus? Why does Macnamara not ask for a ride? Is she afraid of Duke? I mean it would make sense if she was because Duke has the ability to ruin her like Chandler used to be able to, but why is Duke more popular than Macnamara, is it because she's bitchier? Maybe it's because she's meaner in general? Or she's just louder? Either way, Macnamara was the more liked of the surviving Heathers, so wouldn't she "inherit" the throne? Or maybe Duke was the only one who wanted it. But in all of Duke's popularity did she really have to make her friend ride the bus? Would no one else give Macnamara a ride?
