i love this song and video so much :'3 i get so many nostalgia feels

DIVIDE REVIEW

Eraser: Eraser is easily one of Ed’s best and most honest raps I think he’s put out there. YNMIDNY and Take It Back have more the undertones of not giving a fuck about what the industry thinks and staying a step ahead while being aware of the darkness to avoid. Eraser shows the side of Ed I feel he had been trying to hide from us. It’s honest about his struggles and alludes to cocaine, which is a terrifying drug (not that he needs to be told).  It seems to be an almost apology for the wrong turns he’s made throughout his career; to us, to his family and friends, and to himself. I think this song is the perfect reminder as to why Ed took his year long break to find himself and his happiness again and for that reason it is a perfect opener for this album. It forever warms my heart endlessly to know Ed trusts us with songs like this that are so brutally honest and full of his deepest emotions. I feel happy that he can open up and get these feelings out, but I hope he never feels like he needs to apologize to us for things like this. This is a reminder that celebrities are real people too, just like you and me. It can’t be easy to live under a microscope all the time. I hope he knows how much we love and appreciate him. We are well aware he is not a perfect person and it is totally acceptable to make these mistakes and lose yourself because everyone does.

Castle on the Hill: I remember when Ed dropped this song and Shape of You at the same time, I was immediately drawn to this one despite the ABSOLUTE BOP that Shape of You is. It made me feel so nostalgic for a childhood that wasn’t even mine and that is an amazing talent that no other artist has ever really made me feel (besides when I was 4 and first heard ‘butterfly kisses’ with my dad). This song made me, for the first time in my entire existence, feel nostalgic for my home town, I remember being back on campus in the city and crying in my bed about home AND I WAS MISERABLE IN MY HOME TOWN. I have always heard that nostalgia is a dirty liar and they would be right. But I found that, even though I hated home, I felt a longingness to be there and was reminded of the little moments of drinking in corn field at my friends barn and running through fences when the neighbors called the cops, of driving down every country road around my house with my dog or best friend listening to music, of all the little memories Ed sang about. It gave me an over powering feeling of excitement for the future; to look back and feel happy and whole at my life as ed does. As I have said so many times, I feel blessed to be alive at the same time as an artist like Ed Sheeran. He trusts us with these personal feelings. Hearing this song reminded me a lot of the same sensation I got from watching the Photograph music video. I felt like he had let us into such a different point in his life, before fame and music and before we existed in the same world. Letting us into his childhood and pre-fame life is such a big deal and he has no obligation to tell us anything about his past. I’m lucky to love an artist that acts as our friend in telling us childhood stories and secrets.

Dive: This one if for sure in the top 3 best of this album. I love the beat and the whole idea of starting a relationship and being nervous on whether or not to trust them or to just dive in. I think this might be the most relatable and best song both lyrically and sound wise on this album. Also, I low key see this as an Ath*na drag… do with that what you will.

Shape of You: I’m very happy Ed released this song first because it’s catchy and attracted more people to the album and him in general. It’s a very different sound and at first listen, I thought it was the SING of divide and didn’t love it, though it is an absolute tune. As I listen to it more, the more I really hear the lyrics. I appreciate a big star like Ed writing a song about the female body without degrading it. Also, he is talking about the entire shape of the female body; any and all types. As someone who has struggled with eating disorders and body image issues, it actually made me tear up a bit when he talked about appreciating the female body because the media usually puts pressure on women to look a certain way that isn’t possible and I guess I just really love Ed’s appreciation of women in every sense that he does. Also, that music video actually killed me and is absolute perfection. *cough**cough* SHIRTLESS ED!!

Perfect: I knew this song would be my favorite on the album because Ed had told us that this song was about Cherry and you all know how hard I ship them. Lyrically this song is beautiful. I think it really shows a very happy and in love side of Ed that we didn’t really get in + or x and I love that he is happy now. It is the purest song I have ever heard and an amazing change of pace from all of Ed’s other love songs because it’s not so sad. Thank you Ed for sharing yet another extremely personal part and emotion in your life. Cherry is extremely lucky to have such a beautiful song written for her AND I BETTER BE INVITED TO THIS WEDDING.

Galway Girl: This song makes me want to take Irish dancing again like I did when I was 4 years old just so I have the proper dance moves for this tour. I really appreciate hearing Ed say “pretty little” and sing about Irish girls. I had heard that this song wasn’t approved by his label because I guess Irish folk music isn’t popular but bitch now it is. I appreciate that Ed has always felt he could stay true to himself and where he comes from in his music. He is always 100% honest and embodies his roots, even when it’s not “the popular” thing to do. He had always talked about how important it is for artists to break in America to make it big, so most artists gear their art towards the American audience; Ed, though, has always kept it diverse and different. He further emphasizes the importance of being yourself to be the most successful you can be. Without realizing it, Ed has influenced and inspired so many people, whether it be in pursuing a musical career or just going out and doing what you want regardless of what anyone says. What a guy, what a bop.

Happier: This one was such a tease because I was really expecting a happy song but instead I got my heart ripped out. I think this goes with New Man because it’s about moving on from someone. It’s very heartbreaking to see someone you loved be happier with someone else and learn to be okay with it because if you really loved them you’d be happy for them regardless on if it includes you. This is another + vibes song and a sad song, and I live for the sad songs.

New Man: This song is a great change in pace and it gets goofy but is also serious. This is part of The Holy TrinityTM: YNMIDNY, Take It Back, and now New Man. This is such a drag on the fuck boys and I appreciate it and the fact that, even big famous popstar Ed, isn’t a fuck boy. This song drags this New Man to the deepest pits of hell with a catchy beat and lyrics about bleached assholes. Clearly this song is the quality content we all expected on this album and this honestly has to be in my top 3 favorite tracks on this album.

Hearts Don’t Break Around Here: For whatever reason, I really thought this was going to be the next Take It Back. I thought it was going to be a rap but again I WAS WRONG. This is the only time I actually enjoy being wrong and I should just learn to expect it with Ed because he’s always doing some type of shit to surprise us. It ended up being one of the sweetest songs on the album. It really continues on from Perfect and it makes my heart feel so full when I think of how happy he is now. As a fan, I think our job is to support his career but also respect his personal life and encourage his happiness; even if that doesn’t include us. This song just fills my heart and warms me at the thought of the place someone must be in to write songs like this. I feel lucky to hear it and anyone who has been through heart break and come out the other side can relate to the complete feeling you find in someone that you know won’t do that to you again. Ed somehow has the talent to make me feel in love when I’m not and has the ability to articulate the sweetest and purest feelings through amazing lyrics and song.

What Do I Know: To be completely honest, this is my least favorite song on the album and the only one I don’t really like. Ed had said his favorite lyric was in this song (Love can change the world) but I personally find it generic. Whoops. I do like the beat and how he mentioned his father. This album has such a big emphasis on family and love, so lyrically it related to that. But yeah not my favorite so I gtg.

How Would You Feel (Paean): I love this song and I’m adding it to the second Holy TrinityTM on this album: Perfect, Hearts Don’t Break Around Here, and How Would You Feel. These all truly embrace the happy and in love feeling of this album and of course I love any song about Cherry. The story behind this song actually makes me kind of laugh because Ed had only just reconnected with Cherry a week before writing this and he says he loves her. I actually really do love the sound of this song, though to be honest it’s not my favorite on the album or lyrically. I think I didn’t dismiss this song because of the back story of it. I think this song has a very + feel to it about being young and innocently in love and I really live for that. It’s a very soft and beautifully written insight to the very precious and personal time in their relationship.

Supermarket Flowers: OH GOD HERE COMES THE WATER WORKS. This song killed me just like I had expected. Ed has always been incredible at writing songs in honor of other people. I think this song killed me just as much as Afire Love did because I had just lost my great grandmother a week before this album was released. I felt an incredible connection to putting someone to rest and getting supermarket flowers to decorate their grave. It’s heartbreaking but also peaceful to know they are at rest. “you are an angel in the shape of my mom” killed me because I have never heard someone describe having an angel in such a beautiful way, as well as “heaven singing hallelujah you’re home” describing the peace that comes at knowing someone’s at rest. He wrote this song for his mother and played it at his grandmother’s funeral, which is so personal and beautiful.

Barcelona: Hearing Ed sing in Spanish was beautiful and amusing because I don’t think it was proper Spanish, but again I love the very worldly vibes that came with this album. I think this year off was both good for Ed’s mental health and his sound. It’s not only lyrically diverse but also sound and culture diverse and I love it. I feel like I’m traveling around the world listening to this album.

Bibi Be Ye Ye: I was especially excited for this song because I knew it was the song he wrote in Africa. This song truly embodies the theme of Divide and its diverse sounds. I remember when x came out and people were complaining that he “sold out” to pop and lost his sound, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. I was pleasantly surprised that Ed took such a big leap in sound and really changed his image and I loved it. He got to experiment and find himself in x and I think that gave way to his confidence to make Divide because he did so well last time with the diversity. I appreciate the he takes sounds from all over the world and represents other cultures while still respecting them and of course giving them credit. This is also such a BOP and the upbeat kind of song that it going to make everyone dance at his concerts.

Nancy Mulligan: This is an absolute BOP and the story behind it is amazing. It’s quite amazing that he wrote a song in the point of view of his grandfather, much like how I was blown away by Small Bump. The idea that he could embody the view point of a love story that happened years before he was born is quite amazing. One of the things I enjoyed most about this album was his focus on love and family and this song fuses them together with a very Irish sound. When this song title came up on the track list before the album was dropped, I was very curious to find out who this song was about because WHO IS NANCY? Ed being Ed didn’t fail to let us in on not only his very personal life but also his grandparents love story, which is quite an amazing tale. Like so many of Ed’s songs, I felt like I was almost invading someone personal space or listening in to a deep conversation that I was not part of. It is so personal and no matter how many times Ed is open and honest with us, I still get blown away; especially with this song in the fact that he references his grandmother in the point of view of his late grandfather. His story telling skills forever give me chills and take my breath away. I can only imagine what his grandmother must feel listening to this.

Save Myself: Jesus I was not ready for this song. It had so much pain in it and it kills me to know how greedy and selfish people are towards people who give and are the most selfless. It worries me a lot about Ed, but again I think this song compliments Eraser. He really needed the break from fame and especially his phone. I hope Ed learns to say no and to learn to be a little more selfish when it comes to giving people things, and I hope people who took and took from him learn to be more appreciative. I could say so much more about that, but I think I’ve rambled enough.

So, overall I think this is the best album Ed wrote and I love every song on it, which is a first! He was so open and honest with us about his family, emotions, love, pain, and loss. I appreciate Ed and all he gives us. Love you Ed, I wish you a long life xx

RECAP ON THE STATUS OF THE REVIVAL:

I know someone may have already posted the info about how it’s gonna go for later this year, but I’ll post it here again:

Q&A from SAMURAI JACK Crew on Reddit:

1) Is the art style going to differ, or are we going to see the same Jack style we are used to?

The art style will be as close to the original as possible. Jack is slightly taller and just a bit older but basically the same. The backgrounds for the original series were hand painted but now we’re forced to paint them digitally due to the overseas production pipeline. I’m trying my best to match the original look. This 5th season is a continuation NOT a reboot so we want it to look and feel like the original show.

2) How much of the recent IDW comic run do you guys consider canon?

The IDW comics are NOT canon! They are completely separate from the animated series.

3) Will the opening theme song stay the same as always, or will we get a new one?

There are no plans to record a new theme song. There will be a new opening sequence but it’s not clear how the original song will be incorporated. It’s too early to say anything definite about the opening yet.

4) Seeing as the series is now going to be shown on adult swim, does that possibly mean that we are going to see a more dark and violent art style?
5) How do you plan to approach this next season? Is it the final one?

4) & 5) The studio doesn’t want me to say too much at this point but off the record I’ll say this…. Genndy’s goal with this 5th season is to give a proper ending to the series. Naturally the intensity and drama will be higher this time around due to the story reaching it’s conclusion. Being on Adult Swim will make it easier to push things dramatically and visually.

6) Are there any returning characters that you are excited to work on again besides Jack and Aku? (Like the Scotsman?)

Can’t say anything about returning characters, sorry.

7) Do you know if the original team/people who helped compose music for the show will return?

Genndy has been working with Tyler Bates since Sym-Bionic Titan and I think he’ll be doing the music for Jack.

8) Where you guys surprised to see Samurai Jack get so much traction and respect so many years after its cancellation/abrupt ending?

Yes, we were all very surprised by the reaction! We realized that there’s a whole generation that grew up with Jack and they have a huge amount of love and nostalgia for the show. I suppose it was also kept alive on Boomerang, Netflix and of course Youtube. It’s wonderful to see so much excitement for the return of Jack and we really want to deliver something truly amazing.

9) Unfortunately the Mako Iwamatsu who famously played Aku is no longer with us, however have you casted the new actor who will play Aku?

The voice of Aku hasn’t been cast yet. There are several ideas floating around and Genndy is starting auditions next week.

10) And finally, What would you like to say to the fans of Samurai Jack, and how best can we support the show besides watching of course?

Obviously promoting the show on Facebook, Instagram, or any social media is always great. I also really love Youtube episode reviews or talkback videos. It’s a nice way to interact and support the show.

We really appreciate all the fan love for Jack and we’re working to create something surprising, intense, moving and funny but still remaining true to the spirit of the original series.

anonymous asked:

wow that liveshow was just beautiful wasn't it? I mean the pokemon bit, buying a bin, phil's birthday gift... so cute but mixed with interesting dan opinions aswell, and he seemed to be in a really good mood, anyway what did you think? :)

I almost posted screenshots of all the messages similar to this in my inbox because I was so happy to see that so many others felt the same. I 100% agree. I might go as far to say it was one of my favorite Dan shows in a long time? I loved it. Loved it. Loved it. Did I mention I loved it? Because yeah…I loved it.

What a pleasantly chill younow show. Dan seemed really laid-back and just generally relaxed…he was so much more open to discussion it seemed. I felt like he wasn’t mincing his words as much? He didn’t seem to second-guess everything he was saying like he can sometimes have the tendency to do. Or if he was, at least it wasn’t all-consuming. It felt natural. Like a conversation (albeit one-sided and obviously a bit superficial) with an old friend. I didn’t worry about the chat the entire time or feel anxious about Dan possibly getting uncomfortable and having to backtrack on something (because I’m me and can’t help but get nervous for him lol). I just enjoyed it. His demeanor and the overall vibe of the show lent itself to a really enjoyable hour.

He came off as just so loveable? lol not that he isn’t usually of course, but I did feel a particular fondness towards him today. Can’t put my finger on it but there was just something really endearing about this one. I think it might be that there was almost an appearance of what I’ll call “sweet, soft, subdued Dan.” (nice alliteration). And that is my favorite Dan. It’s hard to explain without demonstrating with examples but I tend to think that is his default attitude most often in private. But we don’t get to see that side as often on camera so it is always lovely when we are given a glimpse. Almost felt like this show verged on a glimpse. So I was in love.

Some of my favorite moments:

First off, no better way to start the show than answering “I love everything cucumber related” while giving a knowing stare to the camera. Beautiful.

On Vidcon's New Updates

I don’t know how I feel about the new Creator pass for Vidcon. I mean I think the concept is good. Choose between the signings hall or the creator lounge… but then wouldn’t everyone just get a creator badge so they could “be in the lounge with YouTubers.”  It seems a bit off. In an ideal world where only creators got creator passes I think it’d work. It’s definitely an attempt to repair the flaws that caused me to reconsider paying to return for 2015, but idk. I can’t knock it till I experience it.

Every year at Vidcon the divide between creator and fan grew exponentially to the point where if you were not a top-tier creator, you were a fan. No grey area. This was especially apparent because of the name tags. If you weren’t pink or yellow, you were a pleb. Bit degrading. I also really hope they get rid of “friend of VIP” or whatever the phrasing was because Jesus is that annoying. That pass might’ve been the worst for the sole fact that it was like you didn’t even care for online video! Just a friend of someone who was. Either way, very interesting how they’ve planned this out for 2015, and I hope the updates do fix the flaws.

In terms of the signing room ticketing plan, well that’s just swell! I think that idea’s been talked about long enough that I’m excited it’s finally going to be put to use. Before you even arrive at Vidcon you’ll be given what creators you can meet in the signing hall based on which few you were selected for (like the lottery with you giving weight to ones you want to meet) where you definitely can meet them. Huzzah! Let’s hope there’s no more crying people on the sidelines who waited for 7 hours to meet a YouTuber only to find out the queue was cut and they can’t. At least this doesn’t drop their expectations. You go in knowing who you’ll meet and hope to find more in the lobby or walking throughout the event. That sounds lovely.

Despite loving my first 3 Vidcons, my favourite part of the last one was actually when I left and took a road trip to the grand canyon with my friend Dodie afterwards. That wasn’t even Vidcon. I’m just hoping to be as excited about it as I used to be. I know I sound cynical, but there’s a 99% chance I’m going no matter what; it still represents so much to me. I made so many friends at my first Vidcon, and I met so many Internet friends for the first time IRL. It’s such a magical experience. And now that I’m a bit of a larger creator I want to go to meet as many of the people that have been supporting me as possible (or at least the American ones. ;) ) I hope these updates have helped put the magic back into Vidcon.

PS. As a sidenote if anyone from Vidcon is actually reading this: Can you PLEASE refresh the stage performance lineup? I know you try and pull in “fresh viral hits” for some of the day parts, but as someone who has gone to 4 Vidcons I was disappointed that for the most part I have heard the same few musicians play the same songs 4 years in a row. I get it, double rainbow was great in 2011. It was still funny in 2012, but come on please. There are a lot of fresh musicians and content creators out there that could put on a stage show that aren’t just on there for 2010 nostalgia if you know what I’m saying.

Thanks.

Sometime Last Night: Album Review!

HEY. Alrighty, so how I’m doing this is basically I’m listening through the entire album and I’m typing the song review as I listen so here goes.

Also I’m giving it ratings in the form of Rydel’s face in this gif

All Night- This SONG. It literally just makes me want to jump up and down for three minutes. Like. “Good Girls ain’t ever makin’ history” ROSS WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY. and excuse me I go out of my mind just thinking about those sort of things– DAMN. This song. Just. The drums. The guitars. Rydel slaying on the piano. It’s not my faaaaaaavorite on the album, but still, solid party song. I give it 3/5 Rydel faces, because it makes me wanna dance, but not as much as some others (SPOILERS)

Wild Hearts- For some reason this song makes me thing of a beach and a hut and running down a beach. I also see some serious crowd singing and head banging to this one. It’s so chill and v v cute. Again, not my personal favorite but I do like the lyrics and it’s got a free spirited feel to it. I dig it. 3/5 Rydel Faces because it makes me wanna get into a convertible that I don’t own and drive down a highway on the beach, even though I don’t live near the beach. Good job R5. good times.

Dark Side- I just wanna jam. It’s so FUNKY. Almost jackson five funky, but not the same thing. Let’s just say I would DEFINITELY show them my dark side. I am also still living off of my Daddy’s money, so I’ve got one step (CHECK!) He knows I’ve got a dark side, and he knows how to get it with that keyboard part. Also he likes me in red. I will never wear anything else. 4/5 Rydel Faces because this one makes me want to take rocky into a room and ya know.

end of disscussion on that one.

Let’s Not Be Alone Tonight- My toes start tapping, my head nods, and then the bass drops and I scream HEY every freakin’ time. Even when I’m like “Ughhh, this one again,” Its like involuntary now to scream Hey. And yes Ross, It is all my fault, and I am not complaining one bit about it. 3/5 Rydel faces because it was a really good single, and it’s still a good song, i have just played it 16,000 times over the past two months, so it’s in my brain even when i’m sleeping at this point. Still. v good. much love.

Repeating Days- OH GOD HERE COME THE TEARS. You think I’m exaggerating. I’m not. I cry every time this plays, and I barely have any idea why. I just do. And I haven’t really had an experience like this before, but the guitar sounds sad and the harmonies are sad and ross is sad so it makes ME sad. AND BROKEN PICTURES ON THE FLOOR makes me cry even harder. jesus im a baby. “Can I taste your lips again” Yes, yes you can, one hundred time. it’s just so raw and emotional and it makes me go all blobby. And we won’t talk about the acoustic at the end bc it sends me into convulsions. if you’ve seen my posts in the last two days you know that this song makes me cry niagra falls. 5/5 Rydel faces because if a song can make me cry like this then it is a damn good song.

Smile- oh god the flash backs. okay side note– i was v dissapointed in the video only for one reason and it was bc I felt like Rocky wasn’t in it like at all. anyone else feel that ?????? idk maybe im just crazy. i just felt like he didn’t get a lot of face time. but anyway. riker can blow his cash on me anytime and i will blow sometihng in return OOPS. Anyways, this song, i’ve played it so many times i might just be able to perform it as a one woman band on my own. its a catchy song and i feel like it should be played in a parade, but not 6,000 times in a parade like i did it. 2/5 rydel faces— because i’ve played it way too much lol

moving on

Lightning Strikes- Rydel. Girl. GET IT. This song is so empowering and I adore it so much. I basically just love Rydel. LIKE, HOW CAN YOU NOT. She’s BLEEPING gorgeous, and this song is so cute. just. its very her. more so than love me like that. I like it. I dig it a lot. The guiter solo. ROCKY YOU SLAY.The backgroud vocals also tho– so good. boys. good job. stormie and mark, your daughter is incredible. 5/5 Rydel Faces because she makes me smile on a daily basis plu she wrote a freaking magazine for us. del I love you.

F.E.E.L.G.O.O.D.- DUDE. this song is bomb. Even my brother (who doesn’t care for r5 bc hes a 15 year old boy and thinks theyre a boy band) liked this song. like he sang the f-e-e-l-g-o-o-d part in the shower today. and i was really just surprised that he showered, but pleasantly surprised that he was singing this song! I like this one. such groove. and no boys you make ME FEEL GOOD. every BIT OF YOU MAKES ME FEEL GOOD. “Yes I feel good sing it with me” I will gladly sing it with you-at the top of my lungs- so my neighbors will get angry and tell me to stop it. every day i will. 5/5 Rydel faces. Bc i wanna throw a party just so i can play this song.

I Know You Got Away- From the second I heard the bass line in the preview in itunes i was like “SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD ITS MY FAVE” and i haven;’t looked back. when the album came out actually i was having identity crisis for a bit and i was like wait i haven’t heard the target tracks yet, AND DID U HAVE UR FUN IS SO GOOD. and i really liked repeating days but i basically told myself it couldnt be my fave if it made me sad and cry-ey. but anyways after careful consideration i finally settled back on my original (kind of how i did with my fave member in the beginning i was totes a rocky girl and then i was like wait ross for a bit then i went back to rocky and haven’t looked back) ANYWAYS I like this song. I like the Na na na’s, they’re creative af. 5/5 Rydel faces!!!!

Do It again- OH MY GOD. This one hits me personally for sure. “The last six feet are gonna kill me” STAB ME WHY DONT YOU. This song- while not my absolute fave- is so cute and emotional and im happy rydel fought for it to be on the album bc i like it a lot. god i wanna count the stars over and over again with them. any of them. all of them. that’s like the dream. just to have a conversation with them. a normal one. anyways- i like the drums in this one. and the harmonies- nice nice.Ross can be my man. im good with that. it makes me kinda emotional. not badly. but it does touch my heart places. 4/5 rydel faces bc nostalgia.

Did You Have Your Fun?- DO WE EVEN NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS O N E. OH MY GOD. I feel like if rough sex had a song- this would be the song. this one. SHES. SO BADSHESGOODFORME. GOD. ONE NIGHT IS ALL I NEED. the guitar, the oooo’s I CANT TAKE IT IM GONNA YELL. “Stop leaving stains of cigarettes and come put your lips on me” WHAT ARE YOU ASKING ME TO DO. I DIDN HEAR YOU CLEARLY. 95% of this is in all caps and i hope that sends a strong message to u all how much i deeply care- GUITAR SOLO YAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSS. 5/5 Rydel Faces + This Ross face

Michael Ford’s Top 30 Worst Movies of All Time

I’m sure you all know I LOVE movies. I review movies, I talk about movies a lot… movies are one of my favorite artforms, and they really mean a lot to me. But as with any great artform, there’s always some shitty stuff in there too. I don’t like absolutely everything I watch, that’s for sure. Here are the 30 films I found bad, insulting, disgraceful, mediocre letdowns, or what have you. Some of these choices may even surprise you; there’s a lot of odd movies I have a great hate for.

As a quick note, the following films are not on here, because these are probably the stereotypical things you’d imagine to be on the list:

  • Minions: As I mentioned in my review, it’s not bad. Yes, it stars Minions, but they’re not as intolerable as I would have suspected, and for something so blatantly cashgrabby there’s a shocking amount of heart and effort in it.
  • Anything by Michael Bay: I hate Pearl Harbor as much as the next guy, but overall I like quite a few of his films. Yes, even a couple of the Transformers films, 1 and 3 particularly (2 was dumb but not dumb enough for this list)
  • The Star Wars prequels: Setting aside 3, which is a great movie, 1 and 2 are kinda pointless and dumb, especially 2, but I have a bit of nostalgia for them, though that’s not why I’m not putting them on. Even all the nostalgia aside, they aren’t awful, just… mediocre.
  • Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: This is one of my favorite movies. No joke. I love this film. Yes, it is the weakest Indiana Jones film, but even the weakest Indiana Jones film is still a fun time for me. I wasn’t even too bothered by the fridge or aliens, only thing that bugged me was the fucking CGI prairie dogs.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and 4: While three is a bloated mess and four isn’t amazing, they’re both perfectly decent films in their own right.
  • Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice: I like both of these movies. I don’t love them, but they’re both pretty good, especially the latter. Jesse Eisenberg as Luthor, on the other hand…
  • Battlefield Earth, The Room, Foodfight, any other infamously bad movie: They’re not on this list for a very special reason which will become apparent soon enough.
  • Anything else not listed: Just ask, I’ll tell you why it’s not here.

With all that aside, let’s begin:
