Here’s the Kerrang! Superfans article that I’m in this week! I was picked as the A7X superfan, and that’s me in the first photo (Dressed as M. Shadows, which Matt approves of himself!) I loved doing the interview (Which is scattered throughout the article) and the photoshoot was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed all of this and I’m so amazed to have a full double page photo and parts of my interview in the magazine, which I’ve been reading since I found Avenged (4 years ago)
Feel free to reblog, and if you repost, I’d really appreciate it if you credit me.
In the shoot, [Gareth Edwards] was living the things with us. We were not shooting for the angle, we were living the experience and the camera was catching moments and living with us. We would go from the beginning to the end of each scene with the camera improvising around us and fishing for those moments of truth. It was quite an interesting thing to witness on such a big set with all this construction and special effects and creatures and all of that going on — the camera was there as if this was a documentary about that world.
“When I was a younger actor, I meditated and marinated over the effect on the long-term and the short-term, the this and the that. I thought myself out of so many things I could have done. Now, if a couple of things pop to me, if my internal speedometer is going in that direction, then I say yeah. Let’s rock ‘n’ roll.”
I love design. I’m really into interior design and architecture and furniture. If I had any patience whatsoever for furniture making, I’d probably get into that. But I don’t. I do love creating spaces, though. Having bought a home five or six years ago now, and working on it constantly, there is a great joy for me in working on a canvas that big; its sole effect being to look good and make you feel good.
