As Aunt Tanya's birthday comes to a close...
And Aunt Tanya and Uncle Mark’s anniversary begins, I kind of have an announcement.
So before I get into this I would just like to say that I am so thankful that all of you love Aunt Tanya and her family so much. What started out as an inside joke has become such a huge part of my life. This blog has been a constant everyday project since day one, and I’ve loved every moment.
And don’t worry, I am not deleting the blog and never coming back to it. But tomorrow morning I’m leaving to study abroad in Seoul for the next year. This is an incredible opportunity for me, because it will help further my international relations degree and bring me one step closer to my dream of working for an organization to help North Korean refugees.
But despite all the good, the busyness of my life is going to become extremely overwhelming and it might make it very hard to post on this blog and Chad’s twitter, which will be really affected by the 15 hour time difference. I’m not necessarily going on hiatus, per say, but my posting and interaction with this blog might decline. I’m really sorry about that. I know that this is as much therapy for some of you as it is for me. From the beginning, I’ve just wanted to make all of your days just a little brighter, and I hope that I’ve achieved that.
And who knows? Maybe I’ll still post the same amount and there’s no reason to inform all of you of any of this, but in any case, I just wanted to assure you that right now, no matter what, Aunt Tanya lives.
So thank you all for being here for her and for me. You have all earned the honor of being Aunt Tanya’s nieces and nephews.
Also, if you’re interested in following the wild journey of me trying not to die in a foreign country, I’m going to be posting a lot of things on my Instagram, sweetpotatoseoul, and of course my personal blog @nottanya.
And happy goddamn birthday Aunt Tanya, my queen, and GD, also kind of my queen.
