What are some of your favorite season three moments?
Well, do you have all day? I have enjoyed this season immensely, so there are also a lot of moments I love immensely. I’ll just rattle off a few that come to mind, but this is by no means an exhaustive list. (As you would expect, they are 95% Claire.)
Claire and Frank’s final fight is probably my #1 solely for the way it escalates (“If you try to take Brianna away from me!”) and the way Claire uses his name like a weapon: “I’ll have something to say about adultery, FRANK.” I ate that shit up with a spoon.
Bear’s music in the scene where Claire goes to dead!Frank’s bedside rips me open.
Speaking of which: WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MY BLUE-EYED SON, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MY DARLING YOUNG ONE.
The way Cait delivered the line “Terribly,” after Jamie asks her if she misses Bree.
Sam’s face after Rupert is shot, like fuck (and Rupert’s exit is superb: “I mean to set a quick pace, so try to keep up”).
Ship cabin quickie may be my favorite Outlander sex scene yet. I am still trying to figure out why.
Joe being like, “Yes, ur so hot. Ur my hottest friend. Did u kno that ur my hottest friend?”
The Batsuit scene was so jarring at first, BUT OH MY GOD. SHE’S SO CUTE, YOU GUYS. I MEAN, WOW.
This bit before their printshop reunion sex is also so gorgeous. The way they’re laughing, and their faces suddenly fall into this sort of “Oh my god, is this happening? This is happening. I am so happy this is happening.” My shitty screencaps don’t do it justice because they look slightly constipated here, but— really these are the faces of two teenagers in love, HALP.
19: The side of the highway. Thank you for the prompt, Nina! Hope you enjoy!
“I am so dead.”
Pacing back and forth on the gravel shoulder of the road, Mike Wheeler groaned, running his hands through his hair. His girlfriend stared at him with a flat, almost amused expression, leaning against the car they’d borrowed from Mrs. Wheeler earlier that day.
“Calm down, Mike,” El grinned, “It’ll be okay. I promise.”
Mike looked at her earnestly, his heart still thudding against his ribs. “If I don’t bring you home before curfew, Hop’s never going to let me take you out of town again.”
“You’re being dramatic,” El rolled her eyes, “We just need to change the tire.”
Neither was quite sure how it had happened, but the front left tire of their car was extremely flat, sunken in and miserable-looking. That, coupled with the rapidly fading daylight were convincing enough reasons for Mike that his being dramatic was totally justified.
“That’d be easy,” Mike let out a frustrated sigh, “If I knew how to change a tire.”
El bit her lip and pushed herself off the bumper of the car, popping open the trunk with a quick nod of her head. She’d made him suffer long enough—well, for now. There was absolutely no chance Lucas and the others wouldn’t hear about this as soon as they were back in Hawkins.
“Jim taught me,” El said quietly, hiding her smirk as she ducked into the trunk for the spare. “I can do it. You can help.”
All at once the crunch of gravel under Mike’s sneakers ceased. He had stopped dead in his tracks to stare at her, a fact she realized as she straightened up, dragging the tire to the edge of the car. El giggled at the expression of sheer disbelief written across Mike’s features.
“I love you,” she said lightly, eyes dancing with mischief.
Mike shook his head. “You’re unbelievable, El Hopper.” Grinning he launched forward and scooped her into his arms, spinning her around once before he kissed her forehead. “And I love you.”
For a moment, they were lost in each other’s eyes, brought back to reality by the loud call of a crow overhead. Mike laughed. “Let’s get this done.”
I absolutely emailed Melissa’s publicity team, her agents, and her managers, buuuuut someone is in fact on vacation so at least one is out of the office until the 25th.
Even so, I sent it to a handful of others and I’m posting it because I want to do right by all of you. I attached some screenshots of quotes that I had permission to use that aren’t pictured here, and the email addresses of Melissa’s representatives were attained professionally. I hope this message is well-received because I think that as a community wlw deserve a lot better than what our Supergirl showed us today. ♡
