i love the creator of this comic

I just want to take the MCU fandom by the face and squish their little cheeks and whisper,

“Everything that’s wrong with the MCU can be resolved by acknowledging the writing is absolute shit.”

You’re the fandom, my loves.  You’re supposed to be fixing the canon, not bickering over the secret meaning of the Sokovia Awards and why Tony was more correct than Steve.  Look.  The Sokovia Awards in Civil War are like Khan in the Star Trek reboot.  Neither of them were set up properly.

I don’t know the comic books for shit but I do know the MCU, and I know writing, and I know that the creators of the MCU have not put in the time or effort to set up something as monumental as Civil War.  Just like Star Trek reboot didn’t put in the work to make Kirk’s “death” mean shit.  That little shit deserved to die.  Tony and Steve had been aching for a bare knuckle fight since the moment they met.  Civil War is a steaming pile of bullshit that justifies the two more popular heroes of the MCU getting to fight one another with dramatic background music and pretty lighting.

Primarily, one assumes, to sell movie tickets.

And the kicker is, the movie could have opened with Steve and Tony fighting and it would have literally worked exactly the same.

mettalina  asked:

How many episodes are gonna be in Paperjams daycare? cause I love it and I hope it goes on long

Hmm

Well it depends on the creator @blogthegreatrouge

Who currently is not drawing the comic so I’ve slowed my development of PJ’s daycare down so that it doesn’t get to the point where I run out of comics

I was introduced to Over The Garden Wall in 2015 by Jin, and I loved it. It’s become one of my favorite cartoons.

Never did I imagine that years later, I’d be doing a cover for the official comic by BOOM! Studios. It will be released this September. The solicitation may be found here: http://www.cbr.com/boom-studios-september-2017-solicitations/

This time around, my art is going to be on the main cover! And it feels surreal that the creator, Patrick McHale, saw my work. As a fan of the show, I’m very honored to have been given this chance.

I hope you guys like it <3

  • What she says: I'm fine
  • What she means: The fact that Hunk and Coran are the only two people out of team voltron that appreciate lance makes me sick to the stomach. Lance is smart, caring, and has amazing leadership skills. He is MUCH more than he thinks he is. How 5 of the 7 people out of Team Voltron push him to the side and don't listen to him even when he makes valid points because of his flirty and joking nature is ridiculous. Lance has saved people on the team and outside of it multiple times, and the fact that they don't take that into consideration or appreciate it is horrible and breaks my heart. In season 1 where he spots rover but can tell it's not the REAL rover is a big thing. When it turns into a bomb, his first instinct it to shield coran from it. Later in that season when Lance and Keith are on the balmera trying to stop the galra ships, Keith's first instinct is to rush in and attack while lance stops him and reminds him that the balmera is a living animal and that they can't attack. So lance comes up with a strategic plan to trap in the ships while not damaging the balmera and keeping their task and presence hidden. In season 2 when lance and hunk are in the underwater kingdom and the when the queen pleas to lance that she doesn't know what was going on and cares about her kingdom lance figures out that the food was mind swishing everyone but the baku got the queen first so that's why it was abe to control the rest of the kingdom. He figures this out in 0.05 seconds. In Jailbreak when lance gets the Yupper when sneaking out a galra approaches him and the first thing lance does is jump in front of the yupper and says "stay away from my friend" Lance deserves so much more from the characters in the show and how the creators treated him in season 2 was appalling. I hope he gets the screentime and respect he deserves without being dumbed down to comic relief in future seasons.

Bendy's Panic Attack

A comic drawn by @doodledrawsthings. I felt like doing some more Comic Dubs today and I thought Bendy would be fun to voice, and sure enough he was.

I love the Voice I gave him. He’s a riot xD. But I hope not only the original creator of this comic enjoys this but all you adoring fans out there enjoy as well!

✏️ HEY GUYS! 📚

I know I’ve mentioned that I’m working on a project over the last couple weeks, (and that’s part the reason why I whipped up those icons for Dre, Sanzu & PT- so posting here won’t get quiet while I’m busy!) and this is it!

📖 StaringBack’s story Sooner or Later You’re Gonna Be Mine is ✨SO ENTHRALLING✨ ( She just added chapter 23 today!! *SCREEE* ) and when I came across it for the first time, her characters and way of storytelling performed a violent B&E on my mind, taking that and my heart hostage.

Well I succumbed to my captor and begged Star to let me turn this beauty of a story into a beastly graphic novel and, to my hysterical surprise, she agreed!! 😖💕 ( Not to mention, she’s been so graciously lending her time to answer my many questions and requests for opinions an’ such! )

If ya haven’t given SB’s story a read yet, PLEASE DO! Let her writing skills wash around your skull and tickle every flavor of your brain. She’s phenomenally supportive, loves her fans & followers and deserves the serious attention she’s worked for.

What a sweet creator. <:3c

☆TCAF 2017☆

Guys! I’ll be at TCAF next weekend as a featured guest and ready to sign Check, Please: Year Two!

I’ll be signing copies of Year One and Year Two, speaking on two panels, and will give a one hour talk at the TCAF Word Balloon Academy. (Check here for scheduling!)

  • 12:00 PM – Spotlight: Ngozi Ukazu – Check, Please! by Ngozi Ukazu has taken the comics world by storm. Its giant readership and successful crowd-funding campaigns show how the series has tapped into an audience that is hugely underserved by mainstream publishing. Come and hear Ngozi talk about her life in comics thus far, her plans for the series’ future, and what it like to have a small side project suddenly turn into a huge hit!
  • 12:15 PM – Sports! – Comics and…sports?!?! This pairing isn’t as strange as you might think! From diehard sportos to secret jocks, come and hear what these creators love about the wide world of sports!Panelists: Michael Nybrandt, Sonam Wangyal, Ngozi Ukazu, Jarrett Williams. Moderator: RJ Casey.

When I’m not signing or in panels, I’ll likely be wandering the show floor and hanging out around @mynameismad‘s table being a nuisance. But otherwise, I’m psyched! I can’t wait to see all of you guys! TCAF 2016 was an amazing convention and being welcomed back is an honor.

Last week I read the anthology Love Is Love, published by DC Comics and IDW, an homage to the victims and survivors of the Orlando shooting.

I didn’t dare asking to participate when Marc Andreyko made an open call for creators. But after reading it, and seeing the DC characters there (which I didn’t expect), I kept thinking what would I have done, and I was inspired to do this short story. Couldn’t help myself actually.
It falls utterly and unashamedly under the category of fan fiction. My first ever.

And to expand on the meta commentary, given the hostile world we live in, as a queer author and activist I think mainstream comics still could use higher profile queer superheroes, tied to their most visible franchises, that are queer super activists alongside the ones that do add to minority representation but sometimes just “happen to be queer”. Of course, as a Wonderfan I think one tied to the Wonder Woman franchise would be just perfect.

  • pj's daycare fans: omg I love pjs daycare its gr8 ANIA draws it so well <3
  • drunk chara fans: yeah thats good but have you seen STARBOT'S drunk chara series like omg she's the best <3
  • me: *shoves hawker and rouge in their faces* WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE THEN???????
  • them: um???? some random people having nothing to do with the stories we're talking about???
  • me: *facepalm*

An anon asked for Keith in B3 for the Expression Challenge. And I got uh… really inspired? :’D So have a little comic with Lance in A3 and a hug as a bonus, yai. Thanks for your ask, anon, it was really fun making this little comic. u 3u

I have some headcanons about Keith and Lance’s reaction, actually. You can read it under the cut. (It’s so long I’m sorry aha).

[The asks for the Expression Challenge are closed]

Creators Misunderstanding Their Fan Base: Undertale

I love Undertale, so do many others. However, I love Undertale because of the fan base. I have met so many kind and determined individuals that I wouldn’t have met otherwise if not for Undertale. Many of these people are artists, and it’s nice to see the same characters drawn in so many different styles. Even better is when there is a story written about Undertale, a what if this happened instead of this? Great examples of this are Dreamtale, by @jokublog (currently not theirs more about that later), Glitchverse, by @camilaart, and Xtale/Underverse, by Jackei/@xtaleunderverse. There are many more alternate stories/universes I would love to share but I really want to focus on these two right now. As you may or may not know, both these creators make animations/comics based off their story lines, and they are incredible. The amount of effort that goes into each and every frame of animation is jaw dropping to say the least. The story is also pretty great compared to most, especially Glitchtale’s constant subversion of every expectation and Underverse’s imaginative plot and character portrayal are no small feat either. It’s immediately clear that a lot of effort goes into their work to make it as great as possible and create their animations fairly quickly. However, I’m not here to simply sing their praises because the title isn’t “Amazing Undertale Universes You Have To See To Believe” no, this is “Creators Misunderstanding Their Fan Base: Undertale”

Recently a story came out about Joku threatening to use her fan base against another person who was just giving feedback on a shirt that they made. This led to them deleting their blog and now it’s being held by a nice individual so that Joku can have the name back if she wants. Joku makes sure people know that she is getting lots of hate over this misbehavior of hers. She’s making it seem like her fan base is full of haters that demand comics every week and don’t care about the person behind the project at all. Her “fans” led her to deleting her blog that she had used for a while now, over one small incident. That’s. Not. True. Joku’s fans are passionate, without a doubt, but they have huge amounts of respect for the amount of work that goes into this complex narrative that Joku is almost always working on. Joku, you’re fans are there, making fan art, liking your posts, and sending positive words your way, but you don’t care about that, do you? You just want to show everyone that you can overcome the haters by yourself, but you can’t, nobody can on their own. You say you ignore the haters, but dealing with what I’ve heard people say about you in silence, isn’t a great idea. If you open up more to your audience, show your real fans that you still care about them, I have no doubt that there will be a shift in the types of people who view your content. I along with many others didn’t hate you for what you did, was it a bit uncalled for? Yea, a little bit, but that one incident with someone WHO’S ALREADY FORGIVEN AND APOLOGIZED FOR MAKING IT PUBLIC, shouldn’t have led to you deleting your blog. The blog is being held for you, your choices are to reset back to zero and build your blog all over again, or quit and leave everyone.

Jackei, the creator of Xtale and Underverse, is passionate about her work. Her amazing narrative and intense animations make it a joy to experience through and through, but she has her flaws as well. One day you’ll get a hilarious shitpost from Jackei about how she got braces, the next a comic about how she is having to stand against her fans barrage of negativity. I’m saying it right now that there is a difference in HATING and CRITICIZING and it’s easy to tell which is which. Hate usually is opinionated, relying on the same feeling from others to help boost their opinion into more of a fact. Fans that criticize a work however often point out actual problems with the product they were presented with. Maybe the animation was a bit low quality in some places, or maybe the dialog didn’t add anything to the situation, but whatever it is its a real problem that they just shed light on for you. Those fans care, unlike the haters you insist are your fans. Many people really love your intense devotion to your work, making comics often along with incredible animations that have breathtaking moments a plenty, but it sucks when someone you hugely respect talks down to you. You make it clear that whenever you get hate you try to deal with it in silence, and for the most part if you are a strong enough person that works out really well for you. Not only does it improve your image as a creator but it makes fans think much much more of you as a person. However, you show us that side of you way too much, and its clear you want to be that person you portray yourself as. You’ve gotten much better about showing us that you can withstand the hate sent your way, and your shitposts/memes are always a joy to behold, but why not show off the better side of your fan base, the people who really care about you and your work. It’d make a difference in how you view your fans. Just remember Jackei, haters shout loud because they want others to hear them, but when a fan comments, they don’t even expect an answer from anyone.

Camila is an incredible artist as well, creating a 20 minute animation in less than 4 months is unreal. On top of that the animations feature a standard of quality not usually seen in animations made in the same amount of time. However, Camila is known to harp on people for asking when the latest episode is going to come out. Her response is usually a meme or her telling them to chill and just wait. Camila has the opposite issue that Jackei does, she will show all the asks about when the episode is coming out, making it seem like that’s all her fan base cares about. That and her talking down to her fans often, sometimes calling them stupid for not understanding a small detail in the animation. She’s who Jackei strives to be, impervious to all hate sent her way. To be honest, it’s not the best way to act towards your fans, sometimes people honestly just want to know because they are hyped for the next episode. Especially with the amount of information Camila will spoil about the episode, when in reality it’s mostly misdirection to make hers fans come to one conclusion before the episode even starts, just so she can subvert everyone’s expectations in the end. It’s incredible how many times I knew what would happen just because I followed Camila’s tumblr, @camilaart. Camila, I desperately wanted to donate $50 to you on patreon after you lost part of your house because I desired to talk to the biggest inspiration in my life at the time. To be honest I still want to, but I’m only 15 and I have no income for which to donate to either of you, sorry /;-;/. Camila, your awe inspiring, I just wish you would act more mature and be more loyal to people. After what happened to Jackei you threw her under the bus, reblogging what she said just to garner it more exposure. It’s shocking how many people you turn on after someone comes out with something bad about that person, like Jackei and Ultima almighty. You’re getting much better though about pointing out positive things, like animators and artists who have almost no exposure on youtube, is pretty amazing. It’d be amazing though, if you could use the positives to detract haters instead of memes. You’re a role model for some people whether you want to believe it or not, and sometimes people take anything that role models say as undeniable fact. Your on the right path, please don’t reset again.

(Everything I said are just my thoughts on these two amazing animators, I just really want to get these out their so that maybe they will both see this post and reflect on themselves as creators. I plan to do more of these but I don’t what topics/people to do yet. And guys, don’t hate these artists just for me pointing out a few things wrong with them, that’s the complete opposite of what I’m trying to say. If you don’t like them, then just ignore them, it’s as simple as that. Thanks for reading this, it truly means a lot to me.)

((OMG!!! THANK YOU GUYS I MADE A HUGE MISTAKE. I INTENDED TO MAKE IT 3 SECTIONS AND ACCIDENTALLY MADE TWO THE FIRST TIME COMBINING JACKEI AND JOKU I AM SO SORRY!!! THANK YOU FOR POINTING THIS OUT TO ME!))

um…….i don`t know what to add :v

ANYWAY!

Monster High & SDCC 2017: ADDENDUM

UPDATE: This Saturday, I asked Garrett Sander (the Monster High creator) how the fandom can best express our feelings about Monster High and its presence at comic-con to inspire change. He gave a me a few pointers:

• Call the customer service number, and leave comments about how much you love Monster High and how much you miss the SDCC panel and display: 1-800-524-8697

• Write letters to Mattel, Incorporated explaining why Monster High is important to you, and why Mattel should put it in their focus. This is an especially good option, because it allows us to relay the largest amount of information.
Mattel, Inc.
333 Continental Boulevard
El Segundo, CA 90245-5012

Concentrate our social media efforts as much as possible to one place. I was told that it’s important to consolidate ourselves so Mattel can see how many of us there are! I’d like to propose that we choose the Mattel Instagram page (Instagram.com/mattel), because it serves the dual purpose of getting our point across while also keeping negativity away from Monster High’s social media pages. if you don’t have an Instagram account, don’t worry; the above two options are still really important.

Perhaps most importantly of all, though, we have to STAY POSITIVE. Be cordial, be kind, lay off the swear words, and speak from the heart. Social media reps are trained specifically to ignore negative comments (or to respond with positivity), so if you’re going to post on Instagram, make sure to say that you love and miss Monster High, and wish to see them again at SDCC next year! When you write letters, keep the suggestions and complaints to a minimum. Mention how the artistic integrity, detail, individuality, and posability of these dolls is important to you, so Mattel knows those things are worth putting money into. We can absolutely do this. I believe in us.

ORIGINAL POST:

I just spoke to Becca Shipman, the current lead designer of Monster High.

the higher-ups at Mattel decided to focus only on their licensed brands at SDCC this year. it’s supposedly a better business strategy. that is the reason for the huge focus on WWE and DCSHG, as well as the lack of a Monster High panel. the designers of Mattel’s home-grown brands, Monster High included, were crestfallen, but there’s nothing they can do about it. Monster High spent the year preparing for SDCC as usual before the corporate decision was finalized, so they slated reveals, which are now happening on social media, and Becca designed that Cleo de Nile and Ghoulia Yelps 2-pack, which was supposed to be the SDCC exclusive.

the Monster High crew cares so deeply about the brand. they care about girls, they care about misfits, they care about stories, they care about fashion and art, and more than anything, they care about their fans. I know this firsthand. I know they love each and every one of us.

there’s been a lot of transition from the Monster High fans I follow from despair into acceptance. people seem to be sure that this is the death knell for the brand. I’m telling you otherwise. please make an uproar about Monster High’s presence at SDCC. please try to make your voice heard, guys - and don’t bother Monster High’s people about it. go directly to Mattel. storm their official Instagram. write letters and e-mails. even if nothing comes of it, they should at least know how we feel about this. the brand is important to us! its presence is important to us! and the artists behind the brand who care so deeply about it are important to us. we don’t have to whine about it online (although we still can - a healthy amount of whining is important), and we don’t have to accept defeat. I think it’s time we make our feelings known in the most positive way we can. conventions aren’t just for superheroes and wrestlers! they’re for ghouls, too.

I really wanted to have this done for valentine’s day but my stupid brain won’t let me stay awake for more than 20 hours at a time.

Anyways, I love chibis and I love blog decorations, so have a full soriel set of them for the free use of any shipper! I picked some of the most popular AUs in which you usually see soriel plus some of my personal favorites, so sorry if I missed a fan favorite in the way, there are just too many AUs in this fandom.

Undertale by Toby Fox
Underswap by @popcornpr1nce (and if you like Swapsoriel let me promote @royalbluetale because we make a ton there)
Underfell by… whoever the creator was before the AU was left orphan (but I totally recomend the comic Soulfell by @rainbowchibbit if you like it)
Reapertale by @renrink
Altertale by @friisans
Undernovela by @pig-demon
Mob AU by… I have no idea, there are like 4 different people with Undertale AUs based around the mafia, but this particular pic was inspired by the drawings of @theslowesthnery and the amazing fanfic “Never a lovely so real” by @kaesaaurelia

So I stumbled upon a webtoon comic known as “always human”
You guys. I cannot explain how amazing it is. I absolutely adore the art style and I love the series, I highly recommend it. 10/10 always read again I’m so connected with them and it pains me to see it end, but what ever your working on next do your best! And because it’s pride month I wanted to draw the love bugs So here’s a little fanart of Sunati and Austen
