Hi there! My name is Jay. I have had to retype this about three times lol. I really love Sherlock, this show has gotten me through some rough times. Observing the way sherlocks brain works, watching the growth of friendship between john and Sherlock, the plot, moriarty, the over all interaction of characters and the theme has helped me stay alive. Sherlock has taught me that even though I’m not the best at feelings, even though I have a very small circle of friends, I still have my bestfriend who helps to better me as a person, and I still have my talents. Sherlock is one of my lifelines, and my favorite show. I will post daily, share some conspiracies, etc:)

Today’s Let’s Draw is back to my roots with some Sherlock Holmes!  I love me my tall, grumpy, drug addicted detective.  Went pretty canon-y, very Granada-y with this one.

And Watson, too :3

The Fallen by @engazed

Finished re-reading the stunning series and I’m so ready for book 3.

I really would want to see an episode of supernatural where the Impala ends up getting stolen and Dean goes on a dramatic search looking for it while riding a go cart…

How do you feel about Sherlock wanting to crawl into bed next to John because he wants a cuddle but he doesn't want to disturb him so he just kind of lurks at the edge of the bed, watching him sleep until John stirs and is like "just get in, you're staring is creeping me out" and Sherlock jumps right in, curling around John like a vice. John kisses his forehead and nuzzles into his neck and whispers goodnight and falls back to sleep with Sherlock's fingers drawing patterns into his head.

I have been ready for this moment since series 1 tbh.

Send me your flufflock or cuddlelock headcanons!

Heyo, this is Bonfire Nonny...watching TEH right now- the moment where John returns to the flat for the first time in two years- and he remembers the moment after the chase in SiP. The violin music playing is the piece Sherlock composed in SiB. I call this piece the Pining Piece- I so do not ship Sherlene, but like you mentioned to me- he loved her for her mind. Anyway- isn't it strange that the Pining Piece was playing in the background for John while he was remembering his best times with him?

Ah! You’re talking about the moment “Irene’s Theme” plays (which is the actual track name for the piece, though I think you are completely right, it’s really “Pining for John” I think). It’s totally not strange at all. In fact, I’m going to talk at length about it, because I love Johnlock so much.

ASiB is one of the most important episodes to the Johnlock arc; Sherlock is discovering his sexuality and realizing how important John is to him (and trying to deny that it’s sentiment), and John, throughout the course of the episode (which, time-wise, covers a little over 6 months I believe, if Irene is to be believed), basically has accepted that he is pining for Sherlock thanks to Irene seeing right though his denials. Though John’s not very subtle at ALL in this episode, tbh, so I’m really concerned that people are not seeing John’s jealousy here is directed at Irene over Sherlock and not vice versa. Mofftiss are WAY too good at their job.

It’s been suggested, as you have hinted at, that Sherlock is NOT composing the so-called Irene’s Theme because of Irene’s ‘death’ but in reality because of him sorting out his feelings for John. It is a very melancholy piece, and one that turns up at interesting parts within the series… particularly where emotions are involved between John and Sherlock. In ASiB, the theme continues on over top of the second half of the Status Symbols track as John is picked up by the woman who looks suspiciously like a Sherlock double. I believe that this is subtextually signalling that John is also thinking of Sherlock; the double looks a lot like Sherlock, Irene knows what John likes, and John without hesitation follows the double because she reminds him of Sherlock. I think the theme is also is foreshadowing a bigger revelation to come shortly afterwards when he meets Irene and is called out. And woah ho ho, what plays AGAIN immediately afterwards? THE FUCKING THEME, embedded into the The Woman track (which, by the way, I believe is ANOTHER fake-named track and should be called “Shit, Is John in Love with Me?”, but I digress), which is playing while Sherlock realizes what he JUST OVERHEARD. Despite what the surface reading is heterobaiting to us, Sherlock is NOT thinking of Irene here. He’s thinking of John, and what John has just admitted through his silence.

UGH, end me! Because you know what? The next time we hear this stupid fucking painful thing is in the track I Am SHERlocked, during the scene where Sherlock is deducing Irene’s password. And what comes to Sherlock’s mind out of the middle of nowhere as soon as the theme plays? “I imagine John Watson thinks love is a mystery to me…”. For some reason Sherlock has associated John with love and sentiment. And the theme plays on as he tries to deny sentiment, but we all know that, because this theme is playing (and because we are reading the subtext and linking the theme to Sherlock’s pining), Sherlock is really trying to prove to himself that his feelings for John are just something he can push aside. Oh, poor, poor Sherlock.

THREE FUCKING TIMES in one episode is frankly ridiculous. It’s like the writers are trying to tell us something.

To get back on track with the original observation you made, TEH is the first time we hear it in S3, and automatically on the surface we think John is just remembering Sherlock playing violin… but those of us playing the game are wondering WHY specifically that piece? My theory (possibly crack, take it or leave it) is that subtextually we are to link this theme to John and Sherlock’s feelings for each other, as proven in ASiB. For what happens after little snippet of song plays in the stairwell? Why, John’s forced to talk about his relationship status with Sherlock, JUST LIKE IN ASiB. Similarly, the music thing happens again in TSo3 when it plays during Sherlock’s deduction at the reception… what happens immediately after? Sherlock deduces he’s in love with John and John is bisexual

Irene’s Theme is most DEFINITELY the pining idiots theme, if not their “lgiant fucking misunderstandings” theme. I will not be surprised at all if the theme shows up AGAIN just before Johnlock is confirmed canon. AT ALL. And if we hear it again, or a variation of it in the Special, WE NEED TO KEEP OUR EARS OPEN and PAY ATTENTION. Because the emotional growth moments happen very shortly after this theme is played. This theme is of sentiment and love between John and Sherlock in this series.

Yeah, you know what? I think I will actually cry if I hear a variation of this theme in the special. It’s already a variation on John’s theme, so yeah, I might die.

John Watson graphite wip… after months, more progress on the cable knit. I guess I could’ve turned him back around for the pics :)
