i love love them really much

If Julian and Garak had a relationship on DS9, Julian would constantly go to Jadzia for advice. There’s just too much baggage and pain between them for him to not go to someone. She’s so experienced and he’s already opened up to her a lot via conversations and the medical school notebooks, so that candidness is super easy for him. She swears to keep it a secret, but occasionally speaks to Sisko privately about matters so Sisko knows that Julian’s okay. He occasionally passes fatherly advice through Jadzia about self-care and healthy habits and getting distance when fights get bad so lines aren’t crossed. Garak knows what’s going on but says nothing because they advice they give is actually helping their relationship and himself.

jake and amy’s relationship is one of the best heterosexual relationships i’ve come across in a while because:

  • it’s an interracial relationship between an ashkenazi jewish man and a latina (specifically cuban) woman
  • it’s genuinely loving, healthy, and dorky
  • they support each other and they make each other better. their relationship adds to their happiness instead of taking away from it
  • they always communicate and resolve conflicts maturely
  • they retain their independence, personalities, goals, and ambitions while still sharing each other’s hobbies and ideas and enjoying each other’s favorite activities
  • they don’t let their relationship get in the way of their career, goals, or obligations
  • they have their own lives outside of their relationship and we actually get to see them navigate the lines between a professional and romantic relationship
  • unlike most het ships, amy’s autonomy and personality aren’t reduced to jake. she isn’t jake’s love interest - she’s a main character of her own and her relationship with jake is just one part of her storyline and character
  • unlike most het ships, jake doesn’t bemoan being in a committed relationship. he loves amy wholeheartedly and is willing to do anything for her, and his friends actually support him instead of mocking him for that
  • they were friends before anything else. which means that they actually have fun. there’s nothing toxic or unhealthy about their relationship because it isn’t mired in heteronormative, misogynistic stereotypes. that is, they have a realistic and authentic dynamic because it isn’t all about ~ooh passion and melancholy and angst~. they’re cute and fluffy and it’s always presented as a good thing

Oh when you’re near me
I see the world more clearly
Hold me and I’ll hold you too
I want to spend my time with you. (x)

I cannot begin to explain what that entire segment with Lucretia did to my heart. There was never a fallout, there was never this big, dividing argument that split the group apart. They loved each other to the end.

They never stopped loving each other. They never stopped being each other’s family.

And Lucretia couldn’t bear their pain. She saw the way they hurt - saw them becoming colder, or sadder, or quieter - and she couldn’t take it. She chose to be alone for the chance to make them happy again. She tried so hard to make them happy again.

I don’t know if she’s aware that their individual happiness was limited - I don’t know if she knows how much pain they all faced eventually - but she must have seen them happy at the Bureau. Making friends, doing things they loved that maybe they’d stopped doing shortly before their memories were gone, making jokes like they used to - that must have been like coming home for Lucretia.

Lucretia loves her family so much.

I love Diego. Diego is very funny. He’s a very cool guy, quite a smartass, and I really appreciate smartasses. He used to make fun of me for the stupid backpack I wore. There were a few situations where I couldn’t [wear the stilts]. [When] I was on a cliffside or running in water and stuff like that, I had to wear this backpack with a telescoping head that came off the top, and it was really stupid looking. And the first time I wore it, it was like the first day we shot in Jordan. And he said [Puts on Diego Luna accent.], “Something terrible has happened. Ever since you put on that backpack, you have depressed the entire crew. It’s very sad.” He just went on about, “Please, for God’s sake, please take it off. For the love of God.” Anytime I put it on, “Everyone respected you just one moment ago. But now, it is evaporated.”
