Wine Jelly, Sugared Roses and Norton Grapes
I love Norton grapes, same color inside as outside. Peel it, and the flesh is also purple. Not like the other grapes, where flesh is white and color comes from the skin. A grape with nothing to hide.
Norton grapes were first cultivated in Richmond, Virginia, by Daniel Norton, and became the official grape of the state of Missouri. The deep blue-purple skin of Norton grapes has a higher content of total anthocyanins than other purple grapes -studies in medical research have shown that anthocyanins have broad biological effects including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial and anti-carcinogenic activities. Norton grapes is thus altogether pretty, tasty, and healthy.
