i love friendship between the seven

One thing I love about being on tumblr is how, for me, it broke down the barrier between content creators and the people who enjoy their work. People whose stories I read seven years ago are now important parts of my life. I recognize some of the pen names in my notifications as writers who inspired me to explore my creative side. Even now, I still get excited when someone whose work I admire comments on my posts. That sense of community and friendship is lovely.

LGBT Movie Reviews: Recap

So, I’ve watched quite a few queer-related movies in the past few weeks. Here’s a recap of the ones I’ve watched (and ones I’m going to watch) and how I’ve rated them.

Blue Is The Warmest Colour: 5/10 Brownie points for Lea Seydoux being Lea Seydoux, but it’s a no-go for the male gaze-oriented sex scenes. And Adele’s snot-crying at the end. And for Emma calling Adele a slut… I love and hate that scene both at the same time. But mainly hate. Also, it’s long and in all French, so you better put on the subtitles and have a good 3 hours to just chill.

High Tension: 7/10 Cecile de France is amazing in this film (read: her haircut is hot), and I’m sad her character had such a bad ending. The gore is slightly over-the-top, but terrific in its execution (so many bad puns. I apologize). Although most of it is in French and dubbed in some places, I would still watch it again in a heartbeat. The suspense and the tension were high (again, I’m sorry, I can’t help it) but the ending does not bode well for LGBT folks. As is such with many films in the horror genre, the concept of sexuality is a misused and abused one.. but it makes for great fanfiction (mine, since it’s one of the only TWO fanfics posted on the internet from this fandom).

But I’m A Cheerleader: 6/10 Too campy for my taste, but I shipped Megan and Graham from the moment Graham said “I like girls” while staring at Megan. It’s a very good film to watch if you need to distract yourself from the reality of living at the Pray The Gay Away summer camp your parents just sent you to “for your own good.” Also, Natasha Lyonne plays Nicky Nichols in OITNB, so… yeah. Brownie points all around.

Imagine Me & You: 11/10 Yes, I gave it an eleven. (These go to eleven.) I absolutely LOVED this movie. Luce, The Florist, is amazing. Rachel, The Married Woman, is adorable. Heck, The Token Male Character, is… awkward and sweet and a necessary evil for the plot. But the romance! Literally, kids, I’m never watching The Notebook during a sleepover as long as I’ve got this movie. It’s fucking adorable and British and the witty dialogue is on point.

The Runaways: 7.5/10 I didn’t know I shipped KStew and Dakota Fanning until I watched this movie. And the portrayal of Joan Jett was amazing- the old middle-school me that was obsessed with Joan Jett and the Blackhearts (and My Chemical Romance… we all have our punk phases) was amazed at how Joan Kristen was. Even down to their hair-flip thing.  I mean, Kristen should sing more. And wear tighter t-shirts more often, you know what I’m saying?

Better Than Chocolate: 8/10 This movie would be a seven, if I hadn’t loved the trans* character of Judy so much which added a brownie point. It was a cute comedy, and I liked the friendship between Judy and  the mom, Lila. Also, Christina Cox as Kim (girlfriend goals second only to Luce The Florist)… and the sexy painting scene around 20 minutes in… yep. Except for the random scary break-in near the end, this movie was sweet and definitely better than chocolate.

Pending reviews:

The Kids Are All Right; Lost and Delirious; Bloomington; Loving Annabelle; My Summer of Love; When Night Is Falling; Mulholland Drive; Heavenly Creatures; Bound; Room In Rome; Cracks; Itty Bitty Titty Committee; Martyrs; The Moth Diaries; The Secret Diaries of Miss Anne Lister; Tipping The Velvet; Desert Hearts; Go Fish and Fried Green Tomatoes.

Anyone have any other suggestions? I’ll try and watch Affinity and Fingersmith (or better yet, read them) if I can find any copies of them lying around the library. Sadly, no luck so far.

Consider this my pseudo-”summer reading” assignment, although I can’t buy lesbian-themed books (aside from The Price of Salt that I bought and have hiding in the bottom of my dresser to read at night with the door closed- it’s so good!) or else my mother will find them and ask too many questions. I feel like I smuggled in drugs or something, when I went to buy the book at Barnes and Noble. It was the fastest I’d ever been through a checkout. :)

‘The Perfect Pear’ paints the perfect picture. [SPOILER WARNING!]

This is my new favorite episode of MLP. We finally meet the Apple parents, we get an adorable love story that is basically Romeo and Juliet as it should have been, and we get a touching reconciliation between an old stallion full of regrets and the children of his late daughter. I was outright bawling through the second half of this ep. And while Bright Mac and Pear Butter’s story ends, for now, with Pear Butter being forced to choose the Apples over the Pears, we nonetheless get to see a beautiful image depicting what their relationship was really like.

To seal their marriage vows, Bright Mac and Buttercup (as he calls her) plant their respective family fruits on one another’s land, next to a boulder marking the boundary between the farms. Those seeds grow up to become an intertwined apple-pear tree with a heart-shaped fork in the middle. It stands at the edge of Sweet Apple Acres, partially in what’s left of the pear orchard, as a testament to the love that produced the Element of Honesty, and as a memorial to the ponies who had that love.

Trees have to be trained to twist like that. Which means the Apple parents tended them regularly in order to make sure they intertwined. In order to get that heart shaped fork, the trees had to grow apart for a time, as most couples do. But to create the top of the heart, the trees have to be worked into growing back together, as every successful marriage does. The apple-pear tree isn’t just a symbol of Bright Mac and Buttercup’s union. It is an illustration of their marriage journey. It took work to get it to look like that. And you can see where the work ended for a time, but then began anew to create a stronger, more complete love.

There are rifts visible throughout this episode, and even in the apple-pear tree, we see those rifts happening. But this episode is also about the power love has to heal those rifts. The scars are there forever, just as the fork in the tree is. But those scars reveal how much stronger the Apple family has become.

This is why this is my new favorite episode.

can… can i get around this fic prompt by writing a poem?? i have britished myself into a corner where i can barely fathom writing for american shows anymore. however, since it is community appreciation week, i give you:

DAY 1 - Favourite Character

It’s difficult to tell you who I really like the best -
To choose a single character and leave out all the rest
Because, you see, Community is such a special show
The more you watch, the more your list of favourites will grow.

I love the Greendale Seven with my whole entire heart.
There’s Britta, Jeff and Shirley, Pierce and Annie, for a start -
They all take turns at second place, rotating through to six,
But Troy and Abed tie for first in this eclectic mix.

I can’t decide between them. They are both my favourite one.
I know no better friendship or rapport beneath the sun.
From talk-shows in the morning to a glass of milk at night,
If Troy and Abed both are there, then everything’s all right.

I love them individually as well as in a pair,
The features that distinguish them as well as those they share
But nonetheless I’m grateful that it’s quoting from the show
To answer “who’s your favourite?” with the ‘Trobed’ portmanteau.

Can I request a stranded MC in the rain after she decided to break up with her cheating bf and he kicked her out of the car with V coming to save her?

This was longer than I expected it to be for a mini fic… I apologize in advance for the end :). Enjoy.

Ends and Beginnings, V x MC.

Sometimes good things fall apart so that better things can fall together.

She wasn’t quite sure why she wasn’t crying and broken in tears when she had been kicked out of her now-ex-boyfriend’s car after confronting him about his affair with one of his coworkers. There had only been one thing she knew now, however: it was pouring out and she was in the streets in a largely unfamiliar place that she had no memory of ever being. Somehow she already knew who her digits were searching for in her contacts, and it only took a couple of rings before he picked up.

My fic from a couple of years back.I have updated it for their anniversary (originally valentine’s day)

Happy Anniversary- Sherlock Holmes and John Watson

“John why the hell is Angelo here?”

Sherlock looked around him like he had just entered the twilight zone. There was soft music playing somewhere in the background of this scene that seemed more relevant to one of those soppy films his friend secretly liked to watch, than it did in the dark and dreary setting of Baker Street.

“Angelo is cooking us dinner tonight.”

John brushed past Sherlock to retrieve two wine glasses from the cupboard. Sherlock quickly noted, between wide eyed blinks of incredulity, that the kitchen table had been laid out to look like Angelo’s restaurant . He noted Angelo’s smirking face as he prepared the food and he noted the unnerving calmness of one John Watson. He noted all of these things, and yet all of his deductions would not piece together effectively to give him a clearer indication of exactly what was going on.This angered him.

“What do you mean he is cooking us dinner?Has your restaurant finally been seized by environmental health?”

“No his restaurant is still intact”

“Why are we not in it then?”

“Sit down Sherlock and I’ll explain.”

Sherlock threw himself down onto the kitchen chair in an obvious impatient huff of not understanding. His case hadn’t been going well and John inwardly scolded himself for choosing to do this now. However since it was January the 29th, a date with a significance Sherlock had clearly and thankfully deleted, John and his romantic nerve only had tonight.

“Do you remember the first case we went on together?”

“Obviously John.”

“You took me out to dinner during that case.”

“So seven years later you’re returning the favour during this case?John there are no murderers to catch tonight from Baker Street.Other than the three standing in this kitchen.”

“Was the case the only reason you took me there that night?”

Sherlock was about to answer with something much more sincere. He was about to talk about curing limps and building lasting friendships from loneliness, when a clang of cutlery reminded him of the fact that there was in fact a third person in their kitchen. His mask was firmly fixed in place once more.

“Yes of course it was.John what is this nonsense all about?”

“I’m explaining.”

“We’ll explain better.”

“We had a conversation that night that I want to have again.”

“You want to repeat a conversation we had seven years ago?For what purpose? It sounds unnecessary and tedious.”

“Indulge me this once…please Sherlock…”

There was something in the way John asked which caused Sherlocks stomach to flip in an uneasy manner. There was something about the way that John was now anxiously biting his lower lip when looking at Sherlock, that made his words catch at the back of his throat.

“Well get on with it then.”

John motioned for Angelo to approach the table. This was a very strange occurrence in such a tiny kitchen space as theirs and as ridiculous as the situation they now found themselves in.

“ANGELO could we have a candle on this table before you leave?”.

Sherlock choked on his water as he processed the words John had said. The restaurant owner had an encouraging and wistful smile on his face as he quietly collected the candle he had brought from his establishment. He placed it gently on the table between them.

“Why in Gods name do you want a candle ?”

John looked towards Angelo, a signal to provide the response that Sherlock was searching for.

“Because Mr Holmes it’s more romantic that way…”

The ex-criminal wished them goodnight and exited the flat leaving them completely alone.Sherlock, who up until that point had his piercing eyes firmly fixed on the crook restauranteur ,snapped them confusedly back to John the minute he heard the door click shut.

“But you never liked him putting candles on the table in our dinner outings together. Not once were you comfortable with that John. You worried constantly that people would stare and think…things….about us.”

“The truth is, although I complained every time, the minute he stopped doing it I began to miss them.I found myself obsessing over there not being the usual flame between us anymore.”

“I guess over time people can change.Their feelings about things that relate to other human beings can change.”

Sherlock was fully aware now that this wasn’t normal behaviour from John.John had always been the one who was mortified at any suggestion of them being, ‘together’ , and yet the impression he just gave Angelo was definitely not one of platonic friendship. His thoughts were stirred by the voice of the person who sat gently smiling at him over the dancing heat of the candle.

“Do you have a girlfriend ?”

The blush in Sherlocks cheeks slowly rose and he dropped his eyes to look away from the doctor.

“Don’t be outrageous John.No.You know I don’t.You know I’ve never.You know all of that.”

“You don’t want a girlfriend then?…EVER?”

“Girlfriend? NO! Seven years later. it’s still NOT my area John. That’s always been your department not mine.”

“How do you know that’s my only department?”

“Most of the evidence I have gathered over our acquaintance points to it.”

“I did have quite and interesting and intense life before meeting you, you know.Well until I got injured that is.”

“Nothing I have ever personally witnessed deviates from the pattern, John.”

“Then you’ve not observed correctly.Cause there’s a pretty big arrogant exception to your perceived pattern. You are seeing but you are not observing.”

“I ….John what is all this about?”

“All right Sherlock. You need more ….data.Okay. Lets continue then.”

John swirled the cold, congealed food around on his plate, long forgotten by both men.

“Do you have a boyfriend then?Which really would NOT be fine with me.I would mind.”

Sherlocks mouth began to go very dry.He gulped down some of the wine John had given him to combat this.Unfortunately in his nervous haste, some of it missed his mouth and dripped down his chin.It ran like blood towards the crisp white collar of his shirt.John followed its progress with his eager looking eyes. He licked his lips. Sherlock was beginning to feel fuzzy but rather than bring a halt to the conversation and escape quickly to his room, like his mind was practically screaming at him to do, he instead pushed ahead, his curiosity and obsession with everything John to blame.

“You Would…why?”

“I’d be insanely jealous of him. A bit like I was with Irene and Janine.”

“We are not repeating the conversation of seven years ago John. Not as I remember it anyway.”

Sherlock scraped the chair back quickly and jumped from his seat.He strode towards the wine on the counter and began fidgeting with the cork.He poured another glass of wine and finished it before he had even reached the table. He never even tried to offer John any. John didn’t look interested anyway. His only focus was the detective emotionally crumbling in front if him. John stretched his hand across the table but quickly retreated before he made contact with the man who now had his own clasped hands laid out in front of him.The whites of Sherlocks knuckles began to dig into the table cloth.John cautiously spoke like a hunter calmly trying to ensnare their prey rather than startling it into freedom.

“No, but we are adding seven years worth of friendship and love and feeling to it now. We’re changing it for the better.Do you understand what I’m trying to say here, Sherlock?”

“I have understood since the minute you began talking about ‘other departments’.Understanding is not the reason this conversation is continuing. It’s continuing because I am finding it difficult to believe what is currently transpiring between us. I am finding it even more difficult, as you are the one suddenly and unexpectedly initiating it. Things were normal yesterday. Why now? You, who has spent our entire friendship, correcting anyone who you felt had misunderstood our relationship due to its seemingly ambiguous nature.”

“When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.”

“So it must, John and yet in this Instance you are my exception also.I shall therefore need more substantial and solid proof of your feelings, than you merely stating my own utterances back to me as explanation for all of this.”

John rose from the table and walked around it until he was towering over where Sherlock sat.He extended his arms in a manner which seemed to encourage Sherlock to grasp them. When their hands where joined, John pulled him upwards and towards his body until they where merged together. He rested his chin on the taller mans shoulder and began to sway. Suddenly Sherlock was reminded of the romantic sounding music that surrounded them. John was dancing with him. He hadn’t danced with him for such a long time and yet they effortlessly moved in sync. John began to speak once more, only this time it was now into the shoulder of the detective.

“So have you got a boyfriend?Or maybe you would quite like a boyfriend now?Maybe there is Someone you can imagine being your amazingly smart, good looking, grey haired, soldier boyfriend one day soon if you were really lucky.”

As if to make his point even more obvious, John angled himself until his nose was completely submerged in the crook of his friends neck.He took a long inhale which seemed to suck up every ounce of pheromones that danced on that exposed piece of naive flesh. Sherlock shuddered and hissed at the contact to his starved eager body.

“No. I don’t have a boyfriend. There is ….someone..he’s a bit annoying but incredibly loyal. He hangs on my coat tails and follows me around like a little lost puppy dog at times, but he’s alright I suppose. If you are into that sort of thing.”

John chose this moment to French kiss Sherlocks neck.He could feel the pulse of the man throbbing quickly on the tip of his teeth, as his words and tongue slowly travelled from neck to jawline.

“Which you are.”

“MMMMhhhmmm …”

It was Sherlock turn to bury his face into the greyish hair of his friend and seductively breathe in his smell. The Doctors body responded by pressing himself intensely closer until each of them ached. His next words came out strained.

“Right. Okay. So You’re unattached like me and looking for that one person that means the world to you. That you would do anything to keep safe and to make happy. The person that makes you live. Fine. Good.”

John slid his hands slowly down the torso of the shaking detective and pushed them underneath his suit jacket until they were locked at his back.He used this possessive lock to pull Sherlock as tightly against him as possible. There was no space between them now and no mistaking the effect John was having on his friend. Sherlock arched backward slightly to mildly reduce the contact and to allow himself access to look into the glazed and aroused eyes of the man swaying in front of him.

“John, I think you should know that even with all of that said the fact remains that I STILL consider myself married to my work…however…”

John Suddenly bolted backwards from their embrace and put distance between them.

“Ahhh. Right then. God I feel like a massive dick now. I must have read this wrong…well of course I bloody did….you would never make that mistake….sorry about bloody confusing you like this. I thought, Christ…the problem is I wasn’t thinking, or if I was it wasn’t with my brain. I thought you’d be ready for this. God how pervy I must look right now, forcing myself at you like this. You didn’t need to feel like you had to participate in what we’ve just been doing.I didn’t want you to feel forced into doing that.”

Before John could apologetically dig himself further into an emotional crisis, Sherlock literally pounced at him, cupping his shocked friends face in his hands as he backed him up towards the kitchen table. John half collapsed onto the table top, as Sherlock leant in with one leg pressed between both the doctors.

“Do shut up, John.”

“If you had let me finish,I was about to highlight to you the fact that you being my blogger and sidekick, means you now encompass at least 99.99% of my work.”

Before John had any time to register what Sherlock was implying, the detective pressed his lips onto the shocked doctor. Their was no slow build up. No quick pecks. It was hot from the minute their mouths slid together. Their soft sighing was suddenly like another language to them both. They could hear the translation of it thudding against their ears.Sigh….I love you…sigh…I’ve always loved you…..sigh…why the hell has it taken us this long to be brave and admit this feeling between us existed….

After a while both men pulled away from their embrace. They smiled downwards at the floor, as they clung to each others shirt collars and caught their breathe by resting their foreheads together.

“I’m flattered by your interest, Sherlock .”

“I think that was my line, John.”

“It’s mine now. Things have changed.”

“Stop being so damn cocky, John.”

Both men began to laugh in unison as they finally separated. John lifted his hand so that it rested on the detectives cheek and he used it as a way to lock their eyes together and keep them momentarily and intimately connected.

“ We can do anything you want together you know. I’ll take anything you can give me Sherlock. It’s all fine.”

“Good. Thank you. I accept. Everything. With you John. Everything. Always.”

A noise at their door alerted them to the fact that the biggest champion of their relationship was now entering their flat.

“Dears, I couldn’t borrow one of your phones could I? My phone battery is really low and I ‘m so late for bingo….dears?.”

Mrs Hudson had a quick scan of the scene of them both standing there looking flushed and slightly sheepish, before brushing it off and impatiently tapping her foot. John moved himself closer to Sherlock before replying to her.

“No problem Mrs Hudson, Sherlock do you have your phone?”

“Yes, John.”

“We’ll go and bloody get it then.”

Sherlock rolled his eyes and strode towards the hall to find the means of getting the cause of this interruption to the night, out of their way. As Mrs Hudson and John stood smiling at one another and waiting in the kitchen, the landlady looked around her, noting the candle and the romantic music. However she said nothing.

“Me and Sherlock are just having dinner together.”

“I can see that dear. Didn’t you manage to get a date for tonight?”

“Yes, I did.”

“Oh did she let you down then, so Sherlock is eating with you now instead.”

“No….no…Sherlock is my date tonight, Mrs Hudson.”

Mrs Hudson looked at him for a second before bursting out laughing. She was wiping tears from her eyes as Sherlock was entering the kitchen again with his phone. He tossed the phone at her before putting his hands in his pockets and resuming his position next to the flustered doctor.

“Oh, John what are you like.I’m past all that nonsense now. I know you two aren’t at it. Though you really aren’t doing anything to help these rumours yourself dears, by having romantic looking dinners like this together on your little friendship anniversary.”

Sherlock turned to John and nudged him.

“Ahhhh so that’s why it’s now, John ….”

John refrained from making eye contact with his friend and continued to focus all of his attention on their land lady.

“Mrs Hudson, there is something we would both like to tell you.”

“Just phoning my taxi John, give me a minute, better reception in the living room.”

Mrs Hudson walked away from them and Sherlock chose that moment to grip John by the arm.

“John we can keep this quiet …for a while at least. You tell Mrs Hudson and we might as well stand with a megaphone and shout it from the rooftop. Are you sure, John?”

“Oh God she will be insufferable.”

“Best to get it over with then, when she is late for bingo and just phoned a taxi. Tomorrow and three cups of tea later, she’d still be here.”

“Genius, John.”

Mrs Hudson angrily stormed into the kitchen again.

“Twenty bloody mins they’ve said! Mrs Turner will be ever so mad. Now what was it you wanted to tell me John?”

“I’ve met someone wonderful.Someone that I’m deeply in love with and i’ve decided I want to spend the rest of my life with them. If they’ll have me.”

“They’ll have you, John.”

“Sherlocks right. Whoever the lucky girl is she’d be crazy to say no. So what’s she like?”

“Perfect. I just click with him.i’ve always just clicked with him.’

"I’ve always said … find the person you click…wi……him?”

John took the opportunity to clasp his hand with Sherlocks and move it towards his mouth. He kissed it once.

Mrs Hudson practically ran towards them, throwing herself in between her two boys. Her two stupid boys who had FINALLY saw sense.

“ I bloody knew it! Didn’t I always tell you two boys you were mad for one another!”

As Sherlock prised her away, he began to gently guide her towards the door. She continued to prattle on nonsense in his direction.

“Turns out I’m the best deducer at a Baker Street…. who’d have thought it!”

“Yes…yes you can take over my job tomorrow. I’ll inform Lestrade. Now Off you go to bingo…”

As Sherlock began to shut the door, she pushed her head back in between the open space.

“Awww, I’m ever so pleased for you both…FINALLY!..when’s the wedd…”

“Okay dears, see you tomorrow. Come and have some dinner. I’ll make your favourite.”

When she was gone Sherlock threw his head back against the door and began to giggle. John did the same.

“I’m tired John. Are you tired?”

Sherlock looked so vulnerable in that moment. He was clearly not used to this. John would have to be the one to take control and that was one thing John didn’t mind doing.

“So lets go to bed together, Sherlock. You must be starving.”

There was no unravelling of shirts as they thudded against walls towards the nearest bedroom. There was only clasped hands and gentle caresses, as they walked quietly towards their future together.

On Leo...

Leo Valdez Is Not Okay.

Leo Valdez is quite possibly the most fucked up character from HoO

I always see fanart and text posts of happy-go-lucky-teasing Leo

which is great and fine

because that is a part of his personality

but, it just makes me sad because that line from TLH still rings in my head:

“Humor was a good way to hide the pain”

And then I remember, Leo Valdez is not even close to being okay…

His childhood seems to be alright. I mean, he’s still struggling with the whole deadbeat dad thing.  But he has his mom and a seemingly good relationship with the rest of his family.

Oh, wait, except for his babysitter Tia Callida (Hera, in disguise) WHO HAD TORTUROUS TRAINING METHODS

He isn’t even eight years old and this crazy lady is making him do all this weird shit.

And then when he’s 8, Gaea threatens him and tries to destroy him causing the fire which killed his mom

And yes, I know, Rick overused an annoying ‘dead mom’ trope

But don’t blame the writer’s mistakes on the character

He thought he killed his mom.

For about seven years.

Think about that - for basically half his life, HE

Because immediately after, his aunt rosa calls him a devil and gets his ENTIRE family to reject him

An 8 year old kid thinking that he killed his mom booted off to foster care because no one wanted him

So all of his memories with his mom are forever tainted

We know that he had lots of nightmares during his time in foster care and unfortunately, the foster care system in America is not the greatest.

So he constantly runs away from home to home

Never fitting in

Dealing with ADHD, dyslexia, and being a demigod

Being different from everyone else

Finally arriving at Wilderness School and becoming friends with Jason and Piper

But wait, his memories with Jason were fabricated

And Camp Half-Blood probably means a lot to a guy like Leo because maybe he can finally fit in.

Maybe just this once, he’ll be loved. Because this kid is just lonely and he wants to be loved

Because he’s got fire abilities and the LAST demigod who could control fire caused St. Elmo’s Fire

Great. What a vote of confidence.

Leo also describes himself as an overgrown troll, constantly. It’s safe to say he pretty much hates himself. And so yeah, he feels sorry for himself a lot.

Now personally, I read Leo Valdez as bisexual (especially when it comes to his descriptions of Jason Grace, Narcissus *coughs* Nico *coughs*)

And Leo knows his people/emotional skills are shit. He’s already emotionally fucked up and already feels like an outcast.

And he isn’t quite ready to deal with his sexuality so he just kind of sweeps it under the rug.

I think his relentless, annoying pining from a girlfriend is derived from his inner desire to just fit in and be normal. He doesn’t see girls as people really. He appreciates their aesthetics but he sees them mostly as 'things’ to represent 'normalcy’.

This goes back to his childhood because let’s take a look at all the people Leo knew/cared about:

1. Mom - dead - still blames himself for her death (although he IS getting over that)

2. Tia Callida - Hera in disguise - made him do weird shit

3. Gaea - Made him use his fire powers to cause the massive fire

4. Tia Rosa - turned his family against him - hated him

5. Father - Hephaestus - deadbeat

So for most of his life, the people (especially the women) he knew or cared about, he didn’t have good emotional rapport with them and he doesn’t like dealing with those feelings

Yet, he still just wants to feel loved solely and entirely

And he doesn’t understand these feelings toward guys too

And he just wants to fit in

And even in Mark of Athena, Nemesis knows this and brings it up. She tells him, he’ll always be the seventh wheel. He’ll never fit in. He’ll always just be alone.

And he can’t deal with this inner turmoil and he doesn’t like thinking about his emotions.

So he just kind of sweeps it all under the rug and throws himself into machinery - something he understands

“Sexuality? Under the rug. Worthlessness? Under the rug. Feeling alone? Under the rug.”

He’s built a humorous, care-free facade to protect himself and also keep his mind off of what bothers him.

Because it’s a defense mechanism.

He’s especially vulnerable around Frank. Because like I said in my other post, when Frank first arrives, Annabeth trusts him more than Leo.

And that pisses Leo off so much.

He’ll never fit in - not even among his friends.

But initially Frank, someone who breaks his view of the 'normal’ personal in that Frank is overweight and unconventionally attractive, is more liked than Leo. At least, that’s what he fears.

I think Franks stirs the worst in Leo because in Leo’s mind they 'should’ be in the same boat but Frank has a girlfriend (representing 'normalcy’ and love) and Leo’s still the outcast.

And so I think Rick COMPLETELY screwed Leo’s character over by making him 'fall in love with Calypso’.

Because I think Leo needs to recognize the merit of platonic love. He’s so desperate for the concept of romantic love and I think he needs to cherish the friendships he has with the other Seven. He needs to work on how to maintain the balance between humor and insensitivity. I think his insensitivity is derived from the fact that his previous relationships with people always go to shit. And he doesn’t want to get too close, yet, like I said, the boy still wants to be loved.

He needs to see his own worthiness and other people’s worth apart from his standards of 'normal’. He needs to stop trying to fit into these imaginary, self-constructed ideals and just be.

Leo Valdez is not okay.

He has a massive inferiority complex. He’s not conventionally attractive, he idealizes wrong standards of normalcy (i.e. being straight, being hot, etc.) most likely derived from his inferiority complex as well as his preference to machinery.

Machines and things were 'perfectly’ when everything is order. When everything makes sense. But people don’t make sense. People are unpredictable and different and he needs to learn to understand that.

He needs time to grow and mature as a person and see other people as people too.

Which is why I don’t get why Rick fucked him over so bad.

He’s my favorite character because boy is so incredibly flawed. He’s the most relatable in that people are so flawed.

But he cares and he tries and he fails a lot.

And he does care about others - he feels guilty for thinking Hazel is pretty. He makes Frank the fireproof bag. His gestures say more about him than his words do, tbh.

Now I’m not saying he’s just a ball of angst - I do think he likes humor. But a lot of him and a lot of the things he says are built from his stupid defense mechanisms.

Leo Valdez is not okay. But hopefully, he will be.

super fabulous ya lit meme (2/7)
seven friendships: feyre and mor // a court of mist and fury by

“I once lived in a place where the opinion of others mattered. It suffocated me, nearly broke me. So you’ll understand me, Feyre, when I say that I know what you feel, and I know what they tried to do to you, and that with enough courage, you can say to hell with a reputation.”
Her voice gentled, and the tension between them all faded with it.
“You do what you love, what you need.”

Permanent Record Review/Theory

Ah, this episode. I feel like I need to review it by concept, not by scene, because there are so many underlying complexities that connect with each other I can’t possibly go in a scene-by-scene order, so here we go:

As usual, I want to start with my BMW Parallels: I absolutely love ANY Boy Meets World parallel, it’s one of my favorite things about each episode, but I especially love when they aren’t so cannoned and are specially reserved for the die hard BMW fanatics. There are THREE call backs in this episode, all you have to look closely for. “Chewbacca” was the first. I think it’s actually a nod to the fandom, who I have seen commenting a LOT on Riley and Auggie’s name’s and how they weren’t named “Chewbacca” and “Plankton”. The writers heard this and integrated it into Riley’s Spanish storyline. I especially love that they even had her make a “Chewbacca” noise to the audience, almost as if saying, C&T may have not named their kids Chewbacca and Plankton, but they absolutely raised them the way we all assumed they would.

The second callback was so subtle and so sweet and was so easily missed. Any call back to Feeny through Cory’s teaching methods is always done in a wonderful way and him saying “I love her. I love them all.” to the Spanish teacher is great homage to Feeny’s last words on the BMW series. Remember, where he finally admits he loves all of his students? Something he never admitted to their faces through all seven seasons. It showcases Cory’s similarities to Feeny, but also his differences. Smart move.

Lastly, we have the Zaya handshake. This moment is pretty awesome all on it’s own, but I especially love it because it calls back to the infamous Cory and Shawn handshake…it’s actually almost identical. It was funny and cute and definitely set the stage for a great friendship to blossom between the two of them. it’s also probably being used as a subtle cannon to let us know that these two will become close, but these two will never have a romantic arc. This is  a great choice to me, because these two have fantastic platonic chemistry and any romantic arc would only ruin that. It’s nice to see a REAL platonic male/female bond on this show, because we have yet to really see it as of now. (And don’t say we see it with Farkle and Riley, because that’s just bananas and thanks to this episode, we now have that proof).

Next, the Topanga Debate: There’s been an insane amount of feedback over Topanga’s actions in this episode, with many people claiming that Topanga acted as a terrible mother. To those people, I have to ask- did you actually watch the episode? What is the argument here? That she ripped all the grades off the fridge for Maya? Well, first of all, she did the same thing to Maya at the end of the episode for Auggie’s grade. Maya even said it herself, it just “made her want to do better”.  And as far as having to “Wait and see if Riley can be her daughter again”, it may have been a little bit of a rash comment, I’ll give you that, but it wasn’t meant to bring Riley down, it was meant to build Maya up. And Maya needs that. Not to mention, while all this was going on, was she ignoring Rileys problem? Absolutely not. She was the first one to really explain to Riley that one grade on one test does not a permanent record make, but she just has to keep trying harder in the future. She even makes her way down to the school to thank the Spanish teacher, knowing that pushing Riley to do better on her own is what she needs. Topanga is one smart cookie. To write her responding to this issue in any other way would have been writing her completely out of character. Think about sense and sensibility. Yes, you need both inside of yourself to be successful, but there is a little more of one or the other in each of us. Cory has more sensibility, which leads him more with his heart, going with his gut instinct to protect Riley and try and fix things for her. Topanga on the other hand, leads with sense, she sees things from a logical standpoint and knows that Riley has to do these things on her own, no matter how bad she feels for her child. Together, Cory and Topanga even each other out. Not just as a couple, but as parents as well. The writers wrote this perfectly and intentionally. When watching this show, please remember character continuity.

Lucas/Riley/Farkle Triangle

I’m going to be blunt, here. If you saw this episode and don’t recognize the fact that Farkle and Riley are better for each other in the long game of things, no matter what couple you “ship” than you don’t truly care about the characters you are actively investing in.

Now I am calling this situation a triangle, because this situation is a triangle. These kids may not know it yet, but it is. Let’s take a closer look, shall we? I want to start with the secret of life. No, not people change people. The other one.

What is the secret of life? What us does for them.

Forget about that one? In S2 we are taught “what us does for them” on a global scale, but what does that really measure down to? It measures to kindness. How we treat people, how we choose to be there for them is a large part of what makes us who we are.

Juxtaposition. It means two things are being seen or placed close together with contrasting effect. The juxtaposition of Farkle and Lucas in this episode in regards to Riley is probably the most prominent and blatant move the writers have taken so far in exemplifying  the perception vs reality debate, especially when it deals with who and what is really, truly good for us. How so? Let me tell you.

Riley has a problem: she got a bad grade, she is freaking out and has no idea how to fix it, she feels like a total failure.

Lucas has a problem: he now sucks at baseball (bummer, bro..serious life crisis) and he feels like a total failure.

Farkle has a problem: he has always been the smartest person in class, but now someone (someone he cares about) is smarter than him, making him question his abilities, and he feels like a total failure.

(Please make note that all three of these kids are having issues, similar issues, in the form of struggling with their identities. They are all attempting to figure out how their past selves, fit in to this new chapter of their lives. Or, if their past selves even have any real significance at all.)

So what do each of these kids do?

Lucas comes in, and tells Riley that she is a loser. I’m not paraphrasing that, he straight up calls her one. Says that he’s a loser too and they are both just losers. Sure, Lucas asks Riley how she feels, but when she tells him she’s “happy for the others” Lucas rolls his eyes and gives her a dirty look. Maya, comments “of course you are happy for us, you are Riley, you have always been Riley.” Subtle reminder through the voice of her best friend that people who truly understand, know and care about us, know we are so much more than one moment, one mistake or one grade on a  test.

So who reminds Riley of that next? Farkle. Farkle reminds her that she is Riley, and being Riley is being something great. Coming in through her bay window (which can also be a BMW throwback to when Cory climbs through Topanga’s bay window), a place that holds possibly the largest symbolic weight for raw emotion on this show, he is completely aware of exactly what she needs to hear. He is struggling with his own crisis, but what does us do for them? What matters? What do we do for the people we love? We care, we show kindness, we show empathy, we show compassion, and when really necessary, we put their needs before our own. This is what Farkle does for Riley. He is there for her, first and foremost, above anything else. And in turn, it’s interesting to note that she asks what he is going to do about his issues, before he even gets a chance to help her with hers. What us does for them. When they open up about their feelings to each other, instead of rolling eyes and dirty stares, they lean on each other, reminding the other that their ultimate self worth and value is so much more than this singular moment. And in this exchange, they truly help each other become a better version of themselves. What us does for them.

Farkle comes through that window. It could have been Maya, it could have been Lucas. In fact, why wasn’t it Lucas? It would have been a great first scene for them to share alone, if they are the Corpanga of this series. But it wasn’t, because Lucas was off somewhere else focusing on what he does for him.

Farkle says, “being Riley is your permanent record”. It is those words, his words (not Mayas, Topangas, Cory’s, her teachers or Lucas’), that motivate Riley to get up, grab her book and raise her avocado. Sorry, I mean level.

This scene is touching, it is heartfelt and it is the most unbelievably lovely and earnest scene I have witnessed on this show yet. It is so beautifully simplistic and wonderfully written. It is perfect and it is, without a doubt, the most like any other Boy Meets World scene we have seen of the entire series so far.

“I’ve always been able to talk to you, to make you laugh and I’ve always, always wanted to take care of you.“

-Cory to Topanga when he climbs through her bay window.

No, Farkle didn’t climb in and say those exact things to Riley. Just like he didn’t walk out of Topanga’s and say those exact things last season when he was being there for Riley. But sometimes our actions speak much louder than our words, don’t they?

What us does for them. The secret to life.

(Even if you want to go ahead and interchange life’s secrets with “people change people”, you can do it with the dichotomies of this episode. People change people. Whose actively changing who, here?)

Keep it in mind, kids. Trust me.

Other Notes:

-I understand that the writers needed to make this Spanish class visually challenging so that the audience could see why Riley is struggling so much, but “speaking Spanish only” in a freshman Spanish class? Absolutely not. Never. No matter what teacher wants to conduct a “difficult class”, only speaking Spanish to kids who you are teaching grammar and basic fundamentals to will only set these kids up for failure, not make them better.

-Note to costume designers: The girls hair this season is far from perfectly styled and in this episode it borderlines on straight up disheveled. I like that they are making these kids (who are part of the Disney machine) much more believable as students.

-The Smackle square comment. Don’t take that at surface value, because she’s actually totally right. She’s with Farkle, she’s always crushed on Lucas and from what we can see now mixed with what I know is going to happen, Zay  is someone who she’s developing an interesting relationship with (note: the reaction to his “I’m the cute friend” comment, her trying to give him hugs, etc). Personally, writing Zay and Smackle romantically would work for me. Not just because they are “the only two left” but because his wittiness combined with her awkwardness creates a potentially hilarious dynamic that just might actually work.

-Auggie noticing that all his lessons are really just for Rileys benefit? I love when the writers talk to us through their characters. Not breaking fourth wall, but coming this close

Rating out of 5 stars? 4.5. This was one of the best GMW episodes yet. The character developments were clear, the lessons were prominent and well thought out, the actors all did a great job. Most of all, that bay window scene was genuinely one of the few scenes in GMW that has truly captured the raw magic Boy Meets World was able to achieve throughout its series. Way to knock it out of the park, writers. That’s truly how it’s done.

Taylor! Guess what happened on Saturday!

You probably have not seen the post about it, so you most likely have no idea. I guess I will just have to tell you.

I met my friends Jessie, ouatofthewoods, and Grace, dressedlikeadaydream.

Jessie and I have been friends for about a year (give or take a little. My math grade is not the best; don’t rely on me to count), and we finaly met in your city. From getting brunch at some place we can’t pronounce to taking too many Polaroids (just kidding; my Polaroid would not work), to seeing If/Then from the very front row (I SAW IDINA MENZEL’S CHEEKBONES FROM 3 FEET AWAY FOR 2.5 HOURS. I AM A CHANGED WOMAN. Also, go see it. It is thought-provoking, emotional, and flawless. Until one guy made a super tiny mistake, I thought they were lip synching. That is how flawless they all were), to opening my belated birthday gifts, we had the best day.

We also met up with one of our mutual friends, Grace. You invited her to a Secret Session in NYC. We all went for dinner together, talked about musicals, Secret Sessions, mean fans, nice fans, you, and how Canadian money doesn’t actually smell like maple syrup.

The best day would not exist if we had not been brought together because of you. The three of us have been through our own personal hardships where we have relied on you for motivation and comfort, and now we have each other as well as you. I may live in Pennsylvania and Jessie and Grace may live in New York, but the gap could be worse (the gap between you and us is not that bad either!!! Hintz).

We just love you so much. The love us three have for you is greater than the love any other two, four, seven, twenty million, or four trillion other people have for you, combined. Our friendship exists because of you. I do not know if you can wrap your head around something like that (I cannot), but some people from different states randomly began (awkwardly) talking on Twitter because they had fan accounts dedicated to you. Then, those three people built an even stronger friendship. They started texting, occasionally facetiming, and etcetera. They dreamt about meeting one another, and then some day came up where they were all able to be in the city at the same time.

It happens so often on the Internet, I know. Each time, though, it is an amazing thing. The Internet can be an awful place (we all know this), but it has its perks.

I would have never texted Jessie or Grace, let alone talked to them in person for an entire day, if it was not for you or for the Internet.

Now, Jessie and I are finishing the college application process (Grace is a li’l freshman baby). We have applied to similar colleges because we want to be around each other for the next (exceedingly important) four years of our lives. I have always wanted to be in the city or Nashville (which is funny, because that is the only aspect of my life you have had absolutely zero influence on, yet they are YOUR cities), so I am applying in and around those places. I have always been into writing, but if I ended up in Tennessee, I would do music management without a doubt.  Otherwise, you will see my name in magazines, behind award show scripts (weirdly, it is something I really want to do because whoever writes award shows are not funny at all and I feel that I am the hero this country needs), or behind Tony-nominated/winning plays.

Jessie and I have met on twitter, met in real life, may spend four more years together, and will continue to talk (even if we are apart). Before we depart for college, though, there is one more thing we have to do. We have to see you on tour. I have never seen you on tour (though I have seen you at CMA Fest a few times and met you during the Q+A there in 2012, but they do not count because you only have short sets, and because the cameramen at the Q+A were too rude for me to even acknowledge that experience), but I will see you at Metlife in the B Stage pit. I hope you are ready for Jessie and my tears. Wear your best snorkel; it’s gonna get messy. Grace is going to be there, too, but in the regular pit.

I hope you credit yourself for all that you do. Sure, you do the material things like sending packages and giving people tickets, but you go deeper than that and may not even notice. Every single one of your fans owes you the world. Jessie, Grace, and I, for example, are forever indebted to you. Our happiness and support may be enough to you, but will never feel enough to us. You not only brought us to each other, but also brought us happiness in really shitty times.

You are the most amazing person in our lives, so thanks for that, and thanks for sparking an unbreakable friendship.

(PS. I also met Anthony Rapp who played Mark Cohen in Rent and I know you’ve seen Rent, so I think that was also really cool).

Bailey, Jessie, and Grace

prettypoffy  asked:

What's your opinion on Natasha Stark from 3490?

I’m honestly not sure!

For those of you not in the comics, there was a sequence where Reed Richards went poking through alternate universes/timelines and one of the ones featured was one where Tony was a woman named Natasha.

She and Steve got married to head off what in the 616 verse became Civil War.  She got married in the armor, leading to many hilarious “WTF, THAT’S A GOOD SHOP!” reaction here on Tumblr. 8)

On one hand, I think that they were trying to acknowledge the relationship between the two characters, and how that would develop in different timelines.

However, because Marvel chose to focus on that, there is a certain amount of “if they were different genders, they WOULD TOTALLY BE BANGING!” which A. devalues actual non-sexual friendships, and B. feels a little bit, to me, like queer baiting.   “Hahahahaha, oh, if only, if only, but THEY’RE NOT.  BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE GAY.”

Don’t kid yourself, Marvel and its writers know that this ship exists. It’s been one of the most long standing ones in comics fandom, partially because they ARE such strong personalities that swing from “THANK GOD YOU’RE MY FRIEND” to “HOW COULD YOU BETRAY ME LIKE THIS?” with very, very little space in between.

The relationship, as presented by Marvel, is very, very dysfunctional.  I have about six or seven comics where “their friendship will never be the same again!” And that’s fine.  People change.  Relationships change.  You fall away from friends, or fall in love with someone slowly, or sexual attraction burns out.

But when you actually read the backstories of most characters, it’s a soap opera.  Most writers are so desperate to make their mark that they do these giant, SWEEPING plots which the next writer immediately wipes out because it just went too far.

Fandom fights a lot about how badly other characters treat their favorite, or how badly fandom treats their favorite, but here’s the reality: Marvel treats their characters badly.  Yes, fandom is not the greatest sometimes, but Marvel’s the one who makes money off of this, and they like pulling this nonsense.  It comes from the idea that conflict (especially between friends or family) is more interesting than cooperation, a concept I find to be very boring.

Right now, Tony is the preferred whipping boy, and I’m avoiding his comics like the plague until Marvel gets it out of their system and lets things go back to the status quo.  In the meantime, remember! The writers of ‘less mainstream’ titles often get away with much more interesting writing, art, storytelling and progressive attitudes.  The company is more likely to let them do what they want.  Support your b-listers, guys, that’s where the fun is happening.

Storm, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, Ultimate Spider-Man, Iron Patriot, Hawkeye, Secret Avengers are all doing fun, interesting things right now, and are well worth checking into.  Spider-Man 2099 just got rebooted.

Casualties to Fear: Luke Hemmings

SUMMARY: Where best friends Luke and Y/N struggle to admit the fact that things aren’t the way they used to be before he started touring, especially the way they feel about each other.

“Are you scared?”

The question was simple, and it would have been easy to answer if it was used in the context of a casual fear — if you were just asking your best friend if he was scared of the movie they were about to watch or the tour that he would eventually return to. It wasn’t a casual fear though, because it wasn’t like the two of them had a casual relationship. They were complicated, and they were much more than anyone would be able to keep track of, but you supposed that was the entire reason why you were the only one that could get an answer from Luke.

“Not of touring,” he denied, his teeth moving to tug harshly on his bottom lip. You frowned immediately, knowing very well that his nervous tick was known to anyone that had payed even the slightest of attention to him in the past. “I think… it’s just, ever since the boys and I got back, things have changed. Everyone’s grown up, and I’m afraid of coming back here once we finish touring. If things are already different now, what’s it going to be like seven months later?”

What did you think of the crossover episode? And the #LackofLinstead?

Overall, I liked the crossover episode. It had great pacing; the drama escalated pretty evenly across the two hours. The moment between Yates and Erin in the woods was just enough escalation to get my heart pumping before the show backed off a bit when the characters returned to Chicago. But then it was right back there with the box and the phone calls and Yates always knowing where Erin is.

Unlike some of the CPD episodes this season, this was a pretty straightforward case to follow. It probably helped that we knew it was Yates all along. I loved how SVU focuses on the psychology of catching criminals – Rollins’ rapport with Yates, Carisi taking healthy eating advice from Rudnick – was front and center during the crossover. We don’t always get to see this from CPD so it was nice to see them, at least, try to explore Yates’ psychology even after they went back to Chicago.

Yates – have you ever seen a more despicable human? All his little remarks about Nadia trying to bait Erin? The way he seemed to be spiraling out of control (even for him)? I kept looking at my front door during the episode to make sure it was locked. Yates  is one of the best villains SVU and, certainly, CPD have ever had, and Dallas Roberts crushed it during last night’s episode. So did Sophia Bush.

There were some plot holes with the episode, though, that I found difficult to overlook. Mainly:

  • I still don’t understand why Voight would send Antonio with Erin to New York knowing they would see Yates and Erin would be bait for getting him to talk. I would have thought Hank would insist on going with her. If he couldn’t, then he would have sent Jay with her given all his talk about Halstead having Erin’s back twenty-four/seven and Hank calling in Jay as back-up the last time they went to look for Yates in New York. I could have been sold on Olinsky going due to his long standing friendship with Hank and his semi-father like relationship with Erin. Antonio seemed like a bizarre choice. That said, I loved how in tune to Erin that Dawson was this episode. He knew she was thinking about going solo and letting the guilt eat her up again, and it was nice to see more friendship between these two. He still shouldn’t have let her out of his sight.
  • That was an awfully flimsy steam pipe that Yates and Rudnick managed to cut a whole in and escape out of. I’m surprised the prison doesn’t have more accidents with people getting burnt by the steam considering how easy it was to carve up that pipe.
  • If that was Nellie’s Mom’s phone that Yates called Erin on for the final time, then why is Finn texting Erin on it as though it was her phone?
  • Erin going in without back-up? Yeah, I can definitely see that. But three episodes ago, she promised Jay that she wouldn’t do that and he had nothing to say about her reneging on that promise? Nothing at all? Consistency – you’re doing it wrong.
  • Not to mention, Hank was yelling at Erin not to go in without backup yet didn’t bring any backup himself. He rode to the original location they all thought Yates was at with Finn and the previous scene showed the whole squad minus Erin gearing up to go after him. Not one of them went with Hank to backup Erin and find Yates? Not a single one? (Based on Sophia’s BTS picture, Jay was supposed to be there in the house with Hank, Erin, and Yates. Not sure why he was cut or how it was to work in to the scene we got.)
  • Sure, let’s take Erin out for a drink after she tried to drown her guilt in alcohol last time Yates killed someone. Makes total sense.

As for Linstead, I was actually pretty happy with the amount we got and what we got. I very nearly spiraled out over this parallel between 1x14 and 3x14. I just love how Jay looked at her like, sorry, I know how badly you want this and I promise we’ll get him, but I agree with Hank and you’re not going out there. The first time he asked her about her knee and if she was okay, I could see the struggle on Jay’s part about whether or not he should believe her. And the way he used his “warning voice” with Mouse when he wanted to know why Yates knew where Erin was? Yes, yes, yes.

And then the final scene happened and I switched to no, no, no. I just can’t believe for one moment that after everything – knowing about the notes Yates left for Erin, knowing Yates had been in Erin’s apartment, knowing that Erin with in without backup after promising him she wouldn’t, knowing that she finally killed the guy who killed her best friend – he would settle for asking her if she’s okay and JUST WALK AWAY AFTER SHE SAYS SHE DOESN’T KNOW YET.

Seriously? What happened to these two being so in tune with one another that they know something is wrong, which we saw very recently at the horse races in 3x12 and then again for Jay back in 3x07? What happened to Jay wanting Erin to talk to him, telling her that she has his support as she fights her demons and shouldn’t discount him as backup (3x11, 3x04, 3x01, 2x23, 2x21, 16x20, 2x18, the list goes on)?

It honestly felt more like a moment between coworkers, a ‘I better check in my partner because it’s my job’ moment more than a scene between people who are dating. And the thing is I’m not asking for Skinstead or for Linstead to throw each other across their desks and go at it like rabbits. I love how they manage to keep things professional, but this professionalism has gone too far. If there was ever a moment when Erin needed a hug or when Jay needed to squeeze her hand or one of them needed to ask about coming over later despite the presence of the rest of the unit, it was this moment.

Because Hank said it at the beginning of the episode – “Erin still hasn’t forgiven herself for what Yates did to Nadia”. That coupled with the obvious guilt she felt as Yates’ body count stacked up and the scene we got of her alone in the locker room struggling with her feelings, it was clear that Erin needed to know that she’s not bad news and that there are people in her corner. Antonio did this for during the SVU hour. Voight did this for her. Benson did this for her.

But her boyfriend and her partner? The person who tried so hard to pull her out of her hole the last time Yates upended her life? The person who was shook up the last time she went in without backup?

He hears that she’s not sure she’s okay and walks away without follow-up. Without a hug. Without squeezing her shoulder in support. Without the two of them sitting side by side in the 300 just existing in silence because he understands she doesn’t want to talk about it, but he just wants her to know that he’s there for her. Really? Come on, Derek and Co. Do better than this.

I don’t understand why people are Klamille and/or Steroline shippers OR Klaroline shippers.
I mean, why can’t you be both of them?! I am. I just love the idea that both Klaus and Caroline are happy, it doesn’t matter if it’s with someone else. Why can’t you be just happy for them?!
There are people who HATE Camille, and for what?! Only because Klaus is attracted to her. Sometimes people can be unstable: they spread so much hate to Leah Pipes. They wished her to have cancer, they wished her to DIE. Are you insane?!? This is a TV show, and you are blaming a girl who just PLAYS A ROLE!
I was a Klaroline shipper, and I still am a Klaroline shipper, but I also like these couples!
Klaus and Camille’s relationship was builded from season one of The Originals, Klaus learnt how to be good ‘cause Cami always saw the good in him. (And of course, so did Caroline, but for now I’m just talking about Klamille.)
Camille also is a girl with secrets but I think that what her and Klaus have is something created by trust, caring, friendship and THEN love. And this is important, ‘cause Cami is a strong woman who always said she hated Klaus’ attitude but she also always believed that there was something good in him.
And in the last episode, when Klaus saved her from Aurora, there was that sweet hug between them, and it is exactly what makes you think that their relationship it’s not just some random kiss, but, again, it’s loyalty, trust, mind connection.
And now just talk about Steroline. These two know each other since six, seven years. He was in love with an another girl, and she fell in love with a lot of guys.
They always were side by side. They became friends, and then best friends. They grew together, and after all their delusions with someonelse, they learnt how to heal and how to smile again.
Caroline fell in love with Stefan like immediately. I mean, I still remember what she said in the pilot: “Stefan and I will marry in June.” And at that time that was funny, because Stefan was so in love with Elena. But although she weren’t talking about her feelings anymore, maybe internally she always loved him. And then when Delena happened, Stefan had to learn how to love someone else again, and Steroline just occurred.
Steroline are cute, and now, if we don’t talk about all the pregnancy thing, they were wonderful friends before and then a wonderful couple after.
SO, now there is the main question: Klaroline.
I always loved Klaroline and I will always love Klaroline. But guys, can we just be serious for one time?!? Klaroline is over, or at least for now.
When Klaus appeared in The Vampire Diaries, he was this thousand-year old vampire who was uncapable to love. While Caroline was a fragile human girl who when became a vampire, also became fearless, brave and “full of light”.
She was a strong girl with a lot of family problems, and she wasn’t afraid to be honest with Klaus, in fact she wasn’t afraid OF Klaus himself.
She brought light in his life, she taught him to love, she taught him to be happy. And Klaus changed and became a better man. So yes, sometimes it seems like Cami is Caroline imitation but it’s not.
Care was this pretty blonde spoil girl, who always had what she wanted. Then she changed, of course, but she is confident and she never was afraid to say what she tought.
While Camille it’s a grown up woman, who grew by herself without any family. She is not frivolous (I’m not saying that Caroline is ditz, but she is more casual than Cami) and her relationship with Klaus is completely different. Although the both of them changed him, they did it in very differents way. Caroline was the first to not be submitted by Klaus, instead Cami was the first to try to understand him.
Furthermore, we all remember Klaroline sex in season 5, right? And now just think about Klaus and Camille in the last episode. How the kissed each other, how they touched each other. They were not just giving up to the passion, they were loving each other. And the fact he stopped himself just to look at her it’s beautiful.
In The Vampire Diaries Caroline just wanted to do it. Klaus was really in love with Care, and of course she liked him, but in that time she was still in love with Tayler.
I want to say this: when Klaus left Caroline he said to her “He was your first love, I intend to be your last”. And this is the quote that all the Klaroline shippers know.
I believe in it. I do believe in it.
Caroline is happy with Stefan, right now. Klaus is happy with Camille, right now.
But listen to me: if Cami will remain a human, she is gonna die. This is sad, I know, but it’s the truth, while Klaus can’t die, so he will live forever.
Stefan is a vampire, but in 300 years he fell in love with Valerie, Katherine, Rebekah, Elena, Caroline, and a lot of other women we don’t know. Maybe Caroline is the right one, maybe not, we can’t know. But if not, I think that one day, maybe after five years, maybe after centuries, maybe after millenniums, but one day, I know this, Klaus and Caroline will meet each other.
I don’t know if you understand what I’m trying to say, because my English is awful 'cause I’m italian, but I want to say this: he promised her those words, and Klaus always keeps his promises. They will re-encountered and they will fall in love with each other again. And of course they will miss all their lost loves, but again they will heal, like they always do.
I have faith in this, because I still believe in Klaroline, but the most important, I know that for now they have to live their own lifes with someonelse. And if you also love these carachter like I do, you will be happy for them no matter all the ships thing.
