anonymous asked:

do you watch dramas? if so can you rec some ones that you liked? thank you!

i used to watch a lot of dramas but stopped watching them in recent years, so i’m unable to rec you any dramas from 2017 onward ;;;

however, i can still list a few OG ones and new-ish ones that i enjoyed:

  • descendants of the sun (2016) - the no. 1 kdrama romcom must watch
  • school 2013 (2013) - slice of life story with heartwarming friendships & bromance but it’s angsty so prepare tissues.. one of my faves
  • weightlifting fairy kim bokjoo (2016) - another must watch, one of the cutest and sweetest dramas with a good balance of friendship & romance!
  • reply 1997 (2012) - an oldie but a goodie. also one of my faves, very nostalgic and sweet.
  • city hunter (2011) - lee min ho. assassin. enough said.
  • the lonely shining goblin (2016) - very cool storyline. tbh i never finished this but it’s highly rated by like, everyone.
  • shut up flower boy band (2012) - coming-of-age story starring boys with eyeliner and feelings.. so, more bromance that’ll make you cry
  • 49 days (2011) - unique storyline about afterlife (also made me cry a lot)

if you’re interested in more og ones.. hmu cos i got a tonne of those but i don’t wanna rec too many older ones. also, check out dramabeans for kdrama reveiws, recaps and ratings. i’ve been using that site since 2010 :)

Date Night

Bringing some serious fluff now with my entry for @deansdirtylittlesecretsblog and her RomCom fluff challenge (who doesn’t love a good RomCom?!) The prompt I chose was from Clueless and is “anything happens to my daughter, I got a .45 and a shovel, I doubt anybody would miss you.” And you shall find it easily as it’s the very first line because that’s a pretty great line to start a fic off I think!

Word count: 1,085

Characters: Dean Winchester, Reader, Sam Winchester, Sienna Winchester (OFC)

Warnings: only angsty part is that first line, mentions of sex and alcohol, implied smut, otherwise just fluff, fluff and a bit more fluff

“Anything happens to my daughter, I got a .45 and a shovel, I doubt anybody would miss you.”

The two of you are in the war room, about to leave for date night. But before you make a move, there’s the small matter of the fact that this is the first time you’ll both be away from your daughter.

A low chuckle from one of the chairs draws your attention to where Dean had been facing.

“Y/N, it’s OK. I know Dean doesn’t mean it. Besides, what’s really going to happen to her while we’re here in the bunker?”

As if agreeing with her uncle, the youngest Winchester starts cooing from her spot in Sam’s arms. It’s been 7 months since Sienna Charlotte Winchester joined the world, the result of a drunken night with Dean which ended in some of the best sex you’d ever had. When you’d found out you were pregnant, you’d worried about what was going to happen, but Dean had surprised you. Turns out those feelings of unrequited love you had weren’t so one-sided, and by the end of the day you were officially moved in to Dean’s room and dating.

“Sammy. I mean it. Not a hair on her head is to be harmed.” You roll your eyes at that. Dean has always been protective of those he cares about, but since becoming a dad he’s taken it to a whole new level.

“Dude, you’re panicking over nothing. Besides shouldn’t you be saving the threats? What are you going to do when Sienna starts dating for example?” The colour drains out of Dean’s face, and for a second you think he might faint as he slightly wobbles.

“Not happening. She isn’t dating until she’s like 25.”

“Fine. 20.” You slap Dean on the arm. “OK, OK! I’m sure I’ll mellow out by the time this actually is an issue. We should get going, right?” One last round of kisses, and then you’re finally in Dean’s first Baby headed out.

No More Big Southern Shadow - Jim Kirk

Title: No More Big Southern Shadow

Pairing: Jim Kirk x reader

Prompt: Could you do a Jim Kirk x reader where the reader and Jim have been close friends ever since they had class together at the academy. They were there for each other through thick and thin no matter what. Reader and Kirk tell each other everything but what she hasn’t told him was her feelings for him. Reader is offered a promotion, doesn’t tell Kirk yet but he finds out; Kirk isn’t too happy but reluctantly congratulates her….  - @missmle712 (it won’t let me tag you!)

Word count: 1,787

Warnings: language

A/N: not sure about this one because it turned out to be very romcom-esque. but that’s all good, who doesn’t love a good romcom in their life? i really liked the specificity of this prompt, though (i didn’t include the whole prompt above bc it was quite long). mostly because it didnt take much brain power on my part to write this so i was able to finish it before bed last night. ANYWAY. i hope you ENJOY IT! and LEMME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK! also it won’t let me tag the person that requested it, so im a bit disappointed in tumblr.

sierra burgess is a loser

so i watched sierra burgess is a loser yesterday and here’s what i think about it.

in my opinion, it was not a good movie. i love that we got a teenage romcom with a plus sized lead but that’s only as good as the movie gets. listen,, i like shannon purser and noah centineo BUT the writing was awful. the movie was lowkey cringey and the ending was completely predictable and overdone.

catfishing is not romantic, what sierra did to veronica was unacceptable and it didn’t make any sense that veronica forgave her so easily although she was seriously hurt. sierra pretending to be deaf was a BIG MESS, same as the trans/gay jokes.

real talk. it would’ve been a 10/10 movie without all the problematic stuff AND if sierra and veronica had caught feelings for each other while trying to help each other out. imagine,, a lesbian story out of the blue when they marketed it as a straight movie the whole time woah. I SAID WHAT I SAID

the movie probably came with good intentions such as a plus sized love interest who isn’t only reduced to that, who doesn’t need a “””makeover””” for the guy to like her. and things like jamey’s deaf brother and normalising families with deaf/mute children. but the rest? ugh messy af

Mimi’s RomCom Fluff Challenge

I just reached 16,000 followers! Yay!

I have decided to host another writing challenge to celebrate.

I love me a good romantic comedy (aka the romcom). Love them. I also love some good fluff fics, the fluffier the better. I decided to combine the two and the end result is Mimi’s RomCom Fluff Challenge!

Below, you will find a list of some of my favorite romantic comedies, along with quotes from those movies. Your challenge, should you accept it, is to write a fluffy fic including the quote from the movie.

The Rules and Regulations:

Female reader inserts with Sam, Dean, or John Winchester only. No ships (no hate meant, it’s just easier this way).

Your fic can be as many words as you want; I do ask that you please try to make it at least 500 words. Please add a “keep reading” for fics over 500 words. If it doesn’t have a “keep reading” I will not reblog it.

Please make it a one shot or the first part of a series. AU’s are also okay.

Please tag me, @deansdirtylittlesecretsblog and use the hashtag #mimi’s romcom fluff challenge. Make sure the hashtag is in the first 5 tags. If I don’t like it within in 48 hours, I didn’t see it. If that happens, please send me a message.

Please mention somewhere in your author’s notes that it is for @deansdirtylittlesecretsblog RomCom Fluff Challenge and which prompt you had.

The most important rule, it MUST contain fluff. No angst (side-eyes a couple of my writer friends - you know who you are). I want the fluff. It can have smut, but it doesn’t have to. But, there must be fluff.

How to sign up:

Send me an ASK. Not a reply, reblog or IM, it needs to be an ask. Also, don’t send it on anon, I need to know who is participating. If it’s from your side blog, please mention the name of your side blog.

In the ask please tell me:

  • The number you want and whether you will be writing Sam, Dean or John Winchester. Please send at least one alternative in case your first choice is taken.
  • If you are writing from your sideblog, please give me the name of the blog.
  • One prompt per writer (for now).

Fics are due by Saturday, September 2nd. That is about two and a half months. If you can’t make the due date, send me a message to ask for an extension. I won’t be mad or upset. Life happens, I get it. I do ask that if you sign up and can’t finish the fic for whatever reason, please let me know. I may be able to find someone who would like to take your place.

Movies and quotes are below the cut:

anonymous asked:

What are your fave romcom movies? And any that you like and would recommend? Thank you!

What’s so great about this ask is that you’re about to witness how ridiculously vast my love of romcoms extends, because I have so many recs! You’ve unknowingly opened Pandora’s Romcom Box, nonnie. Anyone who knows me - either online or irl - has been subjected to my chick flick voraciousness which knows no bounds. (AKA I binge Hallmark Channel on the regular, too.) There’s a reason my friends jokingly call me Romcom Ashlee haha.

Anyway, here’s a list of a bunch of my favorite romcoms in no particular order. I included some old movies as well because they’re amazing and I have no chill:

-Any Jane Austen adaptation in existence (seriously, I have an Austen obsession problem)

-You’ve Got Mail

“I love daisies. They’re so friendly. Don’t you think daisies are the friendliest flower?”

-When Harry Met Sally

-Sleepless in Seattle

-French Kiss

This stars Meg Ryan and Kevin Kline. It’s not as famous or well-known as her others, but I LOVE IT TO PIECES.

-Sweet Home Alabama

There’s a running joke about this movie in my family. I pretty much quote it from start to finish and drive everyone mad. I also went through a phase for a few years as a young teen where I’d watch it like once a week, and somehow every time my uncle would pop home for a visit over the holidays I’d have it on. So, now, almost 2 decades later, he still teases me with a “we’re not going to watch Sweet Home Alabama again, are we?” any time he visits.

Considering I just wrote a Klaroline fusion for this movie it’s safe to say my obsession lives on! 😂

-10 Things I Hate About You

-While You Were Sleeping

The cast for this movie is incredible. It’s one of my all-time faves.

-Laws of Attraction

-She’s All That

-Fools Rush In

“You are everything I never knew I always wanted.” *over here crying about it*

-Ever After

-Sixteen Candles

-Crazy Stupid Love

-P.S. I Love You

I cry every time I watch this movie. Never fails.

-The Notebook

-He’s Just Not That Into You

-Pretty In Pink

-27 Dresses

-Never Been Kissed

Michael Vartan was one of my first celeb crushes and I REGRET NOTHING.

-Sabrina (with Audrey Hepburn, Humphrey Bogart, and William Holden)

-Gidget (with Sandra Dee and James Darren)

-The Philadelphia Story (with Cary Grant, Katharine Hepburn, and Jimmy Stewart)

-It Happened One Night (with Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert)

-The Shop Around the Corner (with Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullivan)

You’ve Got Mail is loosely inspired/based off this film. It’s a modern adaptation of it with a P&P twist

-Where The Heart Is

-Much Ado About Nothing

It’s a period Shakespeare adaptation but IDC IT’S GLORIOUS.

-Chasing Liberty

It’s with Mandy Moore and Matthew Goode and MORE PEOPLE NEED TO SEE IT because it’s adorable. I convinced @klarolinekolvina to watch it the other day. I’m so bummed the rarely play it on TV anymore.

-Bridget Jones’s Diary and Bridget Jones’s Baby (those are my 2 favorite movies even though it’s a trilogy)

-Runaway Bride and Pretty Woman (aka it’s impossible to go wrong with Julia Roberts and Richard Gere)

-Notting Hill

-Love Actually

-The Holiday

-Forgetting Sarah Marshall

-13 Going On 30

-How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days

-Lucky 7

-Something’s Gotta Give

-My Big Fat Greek Wedding

It’s so cute, plus Gus is a delight:

-500 Days of Summer

-Silver Lining’s Playbook

-Two Week’s Notice

-Letters to Juliet

-Sliding Doors

-Only You

It’s with Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. I feel like it gets swept under the rug a lot, but I love it.

So I love the fake dating/relationship trope. Here are a few of those…

-To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

This has been all over my blog since I first watched it over the weekend. It’s a trend which will continue because it’s beyond precious.

-Drive Me Crazy

-One Small Hitch

This used to be on Netflix and I rewatched it so many times that were somebody tracking my viewing history he/she’d be all, “Girl, do you want anything else? Ever?”

-My Fake Fiancé

-Can’t Buy Me Love

-Just Go With It

Honestly, I never would’ve thought to pair Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston together but they have good chemistry.

-The Wedding Date

-The Proposal

…Okay, I will stop inundating you now. *angel halo* Rest assured I could go on for ages. I’m probably going to kick myself for forgetting something huge but this is a pretty good list.
