i literally put no effort into this

sonicsfan1998  asked:

To Sonic: I just found out that I have Arachnophobia and am 30% hydrophobic, I just saw a picture of a spider today and I literally got a panic attack from that. Do you or your friends have any phobias that you know of, what happens when you guys do come in contact with one of your phobias?

“The way I see it, you can either panic-”

(x) “Or conquer it!”

(x)“I constantly choose the latter… o-obviously…”

“Changing isn’t easy but…”

“It’s doable! Just depends on how much time and effort you put into it! For those who can’t always face their fears, like me, I tend to avoid whenever possible whatever distress might come. For instance, my fear of lightning! I don’t fly while black clouds storm the sky! It’s a rhyme I invented to make sure I check the weather before heading out on a high flying adventure!”

“Hmm… I guess for spiders… you could clean your bed and house every weekend to make sure bugs are taken care of. There’s also special bug spray you could use around cracks and borders of the room. I would suggest just doing whatever’s in your power to keep yourself happy and safe! B-but don’t spray too much! Those fumes can be toxic to smaller animals, you know?”

*CRACK OF LIGHTNING!*

“YEEE, AHH! I better stay inside today! Where to hide!? Where to hiiide!!”

*LIGHTNING FLASH!*

“AHH!!! Oh no… I think I left a metallic conductor called the X-Tornado outside… It’s totally gonna get rusty and it’s all my fault…” -wide-eyed cause there’s no way in how he’s going outside tonight xD HARD NOPE, lol-

batkids in high school expectation vs reality

dick expectation: preppy af, popular, probably a jock, friendly with every one

dick reality: cheerleader, mostly liked but still gets into fights regularly, talks back constantly, on a first name basis w/ all the secretaries in the office (”hello again, dick. i think you’ve got blood on your face” “shannon hi!! how are the kids?”

jason expectation: Bad Boy supreme, in trouble 24/7, hated by teachers, smokes on school property, always getting into fights

jason reality: huge nerd, does all of his homework + extra credit assignments, lives for field trips, probably cries while reading books in english class, has like 2 friends, that one kid who reminds the teacher about homework

cass expectation: literally non existent?? i’ve never seen her in a high school au why

cass reality: puts effort into only the work she’s interested in, generally viewed as a good student, secretly breaks rules constantly but never gets caught

tim expectation: nerdy af, top of the class, probably bullied lowkey

tim reality: literally never does homework, stays up all night researching things that have nothing to do with school, constantly daydreaming in class and probably falls asleep, hated by teachers, students find him mildly terrifying, has really close friends

My new meds make my skin throw a fit. It’s not terribly bad, just a few things here and there, but it’s bumming me out because I’ve never really had too many run-ins with acne.

My four-year-old sister, however, is under the impression that it’s just “3D freckles”, and that they look very, very pretty. She wants all of my freckles to “pop out”, especially the ones across my nose; they’re her favourite.

And it puts me in this weird position where I can’t say, “No, this is acne, and it’s bad,” because I don’t want to teach her that it’s a bad to have unclear skin, you know? I tried to tell her that my skin was sick because of the new medicine, but she was having none of it. She didn’t think they were any different than all of my literal, actual freckles, despite my efforts to delicately tell her otherwise.

Kids are weird.

The more I think about interactions I have with children, the more I realise that children will consistently compliment “flaws” until they’ve been taught not to.

Like, a kid at the library, whose sister has vitiligo, saw my scars once and suggested that his sister and I should be cats for Halloween, since I have “tabby skin” and she has “calico skin”. “I can be a black cat,” he immediately added. “It’s not AS cool, but they’re the spookiest.”

When I started losing weight, my little brother immediately demanded that I gain it back, because I wasn’t as comfortable to cuddle with anymore.

And my other little sister always wants to wear her paint-stained clothes to school so that “everyone can tell [she’s] an artist”.

I don’t know. I guess talking to little kids just reminds me that all of this superficial shit we worry about really is 100% made up.

Queerbaiting in BBC Sherlock

Note: Before you label me as a ‘butthurt LGBTQ fan’ (as if such a thing even exists), I’m straight. Because apparently that makes my opinion valid now.

What is queerbaiting?

There’s a pretty wide definition, actually, but the one that’s most relevant here is: it’s when you make very heavy references to queer relationships or even queer characters in your shows, but then you never follow through on these references. It’s done to increase viewership and draw LGBTQ fans in (because of the promise of positive representation). So basically, it’s a marketing technique, but a harmful one.

Why is queerbaiting harmful?

Think of it this way. You’re gay/bi/a lesbian, and people around you aren’t very accepting or are plain homophobic. You see these two men on TV, and you start thinking…wait, it looks like they’re in love. You go online and realize that you’re not the only one reading the show in this way - there are literally thousands of other people interpreting it the same way. So you tell everyone around you, look at these two men. They’re gay and in love, and this is a popular TV show, and it means that my sexuality and my feelings are valid, and there’s nothing wrong with how I feel. Everyone laughs at you and says “Nope, they aren’t in love. You’re delusional.”

You think, okay, let them laugh. When this becomes cannon, they’ll know. The queer subtext is all there, and the writers wouldn’t dare not follow through on it, right? But sadly, the queer subtext remains just that: subtext. And suddenly all the homophobes around you stand validated.

But there’s no gay subtext in BBC Sherlock. It’s just a wishful ship.

Wrong. I’m not saying that everyone has to ship Johnlock, but no matter what you ship, you can’t deny the gay subtext in this show. People have written thousands of words worth of meta about it - and it all makes perfect sense. (I believe @inevitably-johnlocked has a master list - or she can link you to one). There are videos decoding all the gay subtext -  let’s take the example of TJLC Explained - 48 videos, and they add up to a total time of 37 hours, 49 minutes and 41 seconds - each one decoding a different aspect of the gay subtext in BBC Sherlock. Apart from the TJLC Explained series, there are a lot of other videos doing the same thing. Sure, a small number of such videos and meta are a little far-fetched, but the majority of them are well-referenced, well-written, and properly decode the various literary tropes used by BBC Sherlock. (Like, seriously, kudos to this fandom for being the absolute best meta-writers I have ever seen. You could turn half of these metas in as proper college essays.)

But the writers and BBC have said that there is no gay subtext.

The problem isn’t even so much with Johnlock not becoming cannon - it’s with the way Mofftiss and BBC have responded to being called out for their bullshit. Yes, they did a complete 180 around the time of season 4, saying “that is not the story we want to tell” and “it has never been implied that John and Sherlock are in love”. When so many people, literally thousands, are reading your show the exact same way, it’s because you put the subtext in there. Saying anything else is an insult to our intelligence - and again, it’s blatant queerbaiting and feeding heteronormativity and straight culture.

*yawn* Heteronormativity and straight culture are myths.

In His Last Vow, if Sherlock had come back to life for Molly or Irene Adler, everyone would insist that he’s in love with them. There would be no question about it. He came back to life for John, but him and John are eternal bros, right?

That, my friend, is heteronormativity right there.

Basically, you’re bitter that your ship didn’t become canon.

LOL. Read above^ you think anyone would put in this much effort just because ‘their ship didn’t become canon’? The Johnlock community is literally comprised of people of all ages, sexualities, nationalities, and genders. So honestly, pegging us as ‘horny teenage fangirls’ - bit ridiculous. We aren’t waving flags and going around yelling “It’s gay because they looked at each other!”, we’re actually ANALYZING and DECODING the show. Before you label us, go read some meta, then tell us we’re still delusional for believing Johnlock could be real.

Besides, I don’t see such an uproar happening about hetero ships. You know why? Because they have representation, whereas LGBTQ representation in media is still severely lacking.

But artists have the right to do what they want with their art.

Of course they do, but if my art offended an entire sect of society, I think I’d at least apologize, instead of blatantly denying everything and insulting the people who called me out for my bullshit.

How I made $2000 off a meth dealer.

A few years ago I was married to a degenerate tweeker (she wasn’t originally like that, but y'know, meth does what meth does).

I kept interfering with her tweeker lifestyle trying to get her treatment etc and she rewarded my efforts with a restraining order (lied, said I beat her and other overly dramatic stuff).

So, I get kicked out of my place and end up in a studio apartment with nothing but my toothbrush and the clothes I was wearing.

One of her great plans was to get a front for a ton of dope using EVERYTHING OF VALUE WE OWN as collateral.

Drug dealer literally takes everything and puts it in a storage unit somewhere in town. Wife plans to stomp on the dope, sell it and by the weekend be a millionaire (tweeker logic).

Of course, she fucks off the plan and ends up just doing the dope so now all our expensive stuff is in the wind.

I try to work out something with POS drug dealer but he wanted an absurd amount of payback, plus I made some threatening comments he didn’t appreciate so negotiations stalled.

Eventually, I catch wind that he got locked up and that some friends took all HIS property and put it in storage for safekeeping until he got out.

I hit every storage place in town with my story and his picture hoping to catch some kind of break.

Eventually, I find the place. Owner tells me that the unit is going up for auction the next weekend for non-payment. He tells me if I just pay the 3 months back rent that he’d write it up as I won the auction and I can have the unit.

$320 gets slapped on the counter and we go drill the lock.

All my stuff is there! And, whaddaya know, now I own all his stuff free and clear.

And, cuz I’m a nice guy, I dug out all the personal irreplaceable stuff (old photos, important documents, etc), boxed them up and gave them to his mom (found her on Facebook).

Actually made quite a bit of money off the deal selling his shit on Craigslist (came out about $2000 in the black on the deal).

Divorced now, have all my stuff and am happy….

BTS, probably

Reasons To Love Svt

  • not so Subjectively the best group ever
  • They were supposed to debut years before they actually did
  • The fact they kept going after something like that
  • Like we get upset when a single members been training for a long time cough sm rookies cough
  • But svt as a group had to wait
  • But when they did debut they were such a hit
  • Like carats couldn’t be more proud
  • They grew in popularity so fast too
  • We couldn’t be more proud
  • The relationships between the members is half the fun
  • They love each other like family so much
  • Constantly looking out for each other
  • Seungkwan feeling bad about his body?
  • 12 other members will be right by his side to reassure him he’s perfect just the way he is
  • Mingyu messing with the filters because he’s worried about his skin color?
  • Someone will be saying he doesn’t need a filter within seconds
  • When chan graduated a good handful went to go see him
  • Like if that isn’t love what is?
  • With 13 members you’d think someone is bound to get left out
  • And not that it doesn’t always happen
  • The members do make efforts to include each other
  • They are always having fun no matter how tired they are or how late it is
  • Turning lights out on each other when they are taking showers
  • Playing rock paper scissors at restaurants to see who has to ask the owner to play their songs
  • You can just tell they genuinely love each other like family
  • Like lets be real
  • If you spent so much of your time with that large amount of people
  • You would totally find someone, if not multiple people that clash with your personalty
  • And i’m sure these guys have had that happen
  • But they’ve worked past that
  • To the point where us fans cant even tell
  • And boy we find out a lot of things lol
  • What Im trying to say is that they are totally accepting of each other and i find that amazing
  • They love their carats so much
  • So so much
  • Like when they each wrote an encouraging letter for students taking the SAT
  • The amount of work they put into making their performances perfect for their carats
  • They’ve been through so much for us
  • They always bow so deeply at their concerts and it breaks me
  • Seventeen in carat land was honestly the most beautiful thing
  • Their carats love them just as much, if not more
  • Like ask a carat what they love about svt
  • And they will either go on for hours
  • And never run out of things to say
  • Or just be so overwhelmed they can’t even say anything
  • Because their love for the boys is just too much
  • Its adorable
  • All of them are super sweet people
  • Constantly encouraging the members
  • And always so content with anything svt gives us like
  • Carats are so sweet
  • Super artsy too i dont understand
  • Predebut videos are better than any other groups omg
  • Your bias list is never safe when stanning svt because everyone is perfect
  • All the carrot puns we can make and they make
  • They are literally a giant meme
  • And they never fail to put a smile on our face
  • Idk if yall have noticed but svt has been making an effort to be more active on social media
  • They even did live shows on instagram
  • And they’ve posted so much stuff on all their social media
  • They blessed us with their dance covers of happiness and wild eye
  • Synchronization kings
  • When i first saw wild eye i was so confused
  • Because i thought my video had frozen
  • But nope
  • That was just part of the dance
  • They have such a unique style
  • Like three units but one group
  • And they still all function as one working group
  • 13 members, 3 units, 1 team = Seventeen
  • Hella attractive
  • Like seventeen is just made up of 13 visuals
  • Everything they do is so amazingly aesthetic
  • Their music is perfect
  • That one time we thought we were getting a dark concept
  • And it said Only for today
  • And we were like !!!!!!!!
  • But they literally meant only for one day
  • It was just a black and white filter
  • And we were freaking speechless
  • Lmao that was a wild time
  • But the fact that even the rappers can sing
  • And it sounds like heaven
  • They are all really respectful
  • We’ve all heard stories from staff thats worked with them
  • And there is never anything bad to say about them
  • They cover girl groups in a respectful way and aren’t making fun of the songs like pretty much every other boy group out there
  • They aren’t in it for the fame
  • They just want to make music
  • Cause i mean, lets be real, if their only goal was to be famous they wouldn’t have have ended up at Pledis lol
  • They are super super humble
  • How hype they get with each other
  • They are their number one fans
  • No one loves svt more than svt loves them
  • Its fantastic
  • Freaking Bong Bong
  • Our lovely Kim Bong Bong
  • The fact that bongbongie represents the fans
  • And they have named it genderless
  • And hoshi broke down the stereotype that pretty eyes equals girl
  • Like when will your faves ever?
  • Their stages are freaking lit
  • They go all out
  • Whether youre there at the concert or watching a video of it
  • You’ll get super pumped
  • And you can just feel the passion radiating out of the video
  • Because they put 110% into everything they do
  • Stanning svt is like finding a new home
  • Everyone is welcoming and warm
  • The guys just make you smile all the time
  • No matter what they are doing
  • Their love is neverending
  • And everything is so personal and relatable
  • It feels like you know them personally and not like they are some famous untouchable group
  • Everything about them just makes me smile and they can improve my mood like no other group

The musical is legitimately perfect, each actor put so much effort into capturing their characters. There’s so much emotion in every song it’s everything a PJO adaptation should be, finally.

I’m too spent to write up a full report tonight, but I promise there will be one! For now here are some pictures of the stage before and after the show, and the Playbill! And @percyyoulittleshit already shared because I spastically sent her a message during intermission ANNABETH NOT ONLY HAS BLONDE HAIR, BUT BLONDE CURLY HAIR. I didn’t think that would matter so much to me, but it literally took it from watching an actor on stage to seeing Annabeth.

studyblr icons !!!

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR 1K! I can’t believe I’ve reached my first milestone in such a short space of time, and I am so grateful for each and every one of my followers because it’s all thanks to you :-)

I will now be tracking the tag #hittingthebooks - if you post anything to the tag, I’ll reblog it for my followers to see!

To say thank you for 1k, I made 4 icons that you can use for your studyblr (or anywhere really!). You don’t need to follow me to use these but please reblog if you’re using one!

Please please please give credit where it is due - I’ve abstained from putting watermarks on these because I recognise that it doesn’t make the design look as nice, but I put a lot of effort into these so I would really appreciate it if you didn’t steal them or claim them as your own. (like seriously omg the mildliner one has me in literal pain, it took forever and I made it from scratch LOOK AT ALL THE RECTANGLES) If you’d like me to tweak the design for you to match your theme (eg. change a colour, put more/less mildliners) then please let me know, and if you have any other questions, feel free to message me!

Thank you all again for 1k and I hope you enjoy using these! xxx

What's the most surprising thing about Ducky that you've learned since you've been dating?

shes an absolute fuckboy jesus christ. if my tits happen to be out, i can literally see her forcing her eyes to remain at eyelevel. there’s ACTUAL EFFORT being put. like girl. Useless Lesbian™

Lately, I’ve been seeing something slightly bothersome around studyblr, and I just want to say something about it. Basically, there seems to be this attitude cropping up (or at least that I’ve seen/heard about more frequently these days) that your grades reflect your level of effort, or that by simply working hard and putting more effort in, your grades will automatically improve. I disagree.

Yes, there are certainly some cases where you’re already proficient in a class and if you just put in the extra time to study, you’d do better. But there are some classes where grades are not a measure of the level of effort you put in, and therein lies my biggest issue with the grading system and these types of studyblr posts in general. This was certainly the case with me in honors physics (so bear with me, because I have a very large point to make with the following anecdote).

Personally, I’ve always had “easy A” classes where I don’t have to work hard; my brain and academic strengths simply favor me in that particular subject, so with minimal effort I can still be top in the class. And then I see peers who go in for tutoring every day, who spend hours studying and meeting with teachers, who basically invest 100 times the effort I do… and still can’t get above a B or C.

This is not to mention people who take classes that are “reaches” and, accordingly, don’t do so well – even though they work hard – because it’s a challenge. Then there are those who take lower level classes but have capabilities beyond that – and don’t need to put effort in – thus giving them an unfairly easy A. Does their A mean that they work harder? That they’re a better student, studier, scholar, intellectual? Hell to the no.

English is one of those “easy A” classes for me. I’m just innately strong in verbal-linguistic intelligence (going off of Gardner’s theory of multiple intelligences), so I’ve literally never had to study for English tests or reading comp/writing. But put me in other classes, particularly science classes? Well, that’s something else entirely.

Which brings me to junior year honors physics.

Guys, I studied my ASS off, for hours at a time. I desperately Skyped people in my class nearly every night to try to understand the homework and spent every lunch block trying to master the material. I met with my physics teacher and tutor all the time and had a dozen anxiety attacks (and I mean actual, diagnosed anxiety attacks) over that one class because I tried harder than I’ve ever tried… and I got a B for the whole year. I was the one who dreaded seeing that red number scrawled on my test, who shoved it into my backpack before others could see and blinked back tears, thinking, But I studied so hard!

Physics was a nightmare I was desperate to forget by the end of junior year. But then a couple things happened that shocked me, and I instantly thought of them when I read some of these posts about good effort = good grades.

Now, my physics teacher, who has a reputation for being on the strict side and being a tough grader, has had four teaching assistants (TAs) in five years of teaching. Most science teachers at my school have as many as five a year. At the end of 11th grade, after I’d scraped by with a B in his class, he asked me if I wanted to be a TA. Out of the entire grade – out of the multitude of students I’d watched parade past with straight A’s and “that test was so easy” and “I barely studied” and “sorry Edye I don’t know how else to explain it to you” – he chose me.

I think I (very graciously) blurted out, “What? Why?” because I was so taken aback. He said that I was hardworking and dedicated – that I’d always gone above and beyond in my studying and meeting with him – and he wanted someone like me to be a TA. I was flattered, and I thoroughly enjoyed being a TA during senior year. (Also, anyone who doesn’t think he’s super nice is incredibly wrong. He’s awesome.)

Two years later, I got to read his college recommendation for me. Bear in mind that I was not, based on my grades, a top student in his class. And this is what he wrote for his opening line:

Honors Physics is a rigorous course that draws from the strongest students in the junior class and Edye proved to be one of those students.

What? He had seen my report card, right? I got worse grades than all of my friends. I got a goddamn 66 on a test in that class, my all time low. He continued:

One of the many examples of Edye’s commitment [is when she] had been ill and missed quite a bit of school and consequently had a lot of school work to make up in all of her classes.  Many students in this situation would take one or more classes pass / fail for the quarter; Edye would not take the pass/fail option and insisted she complete all the work and complete it with the grade she would earn.  She did in fact complete all of the work and with a B-.  A remarkable accomplishment considering she kept current with her studies while making up all of the missed work.

He called a B-minus “a remarkable accomplishment.” Did he say “too bad she didn’t put enough effort in, which was reflected in a B-minus” or “she only got a B-minus, so I guess she didn’t try hard enough”? No, he praised the amount of effort I put in, even though I didn’t even get a “good” grade.

I’m hardly one to knock putting in effort, but what bothers me is that this attitude, that effort = good grades, has the potential to make people feel bad. To feel like if they aren’t acing a class even though they’re studying harder than anybody else, well, they just aren’t trying hard enough. Yes, grades are important. So is effort. But they are not always directly correlated. As is evidenced by my story, sometimes people who get lower grades have worked even harder then those who got high grades. And, if they’re lucky, this will be acknowledged. (I can certainly attest that while I’ve been praised by English teachers for my writing skills and intellect, they’ve never singled me out for putting in an exceptional amount of effort. They know that while I’m proactive and responsible, I don’t try super hard because, well, I don’t really need to in order to get a good grade.)

Encourage other students to put in a reasonable amount of effort; recommend different study methods. But don’t tell them that good effort = good grades. Teach them to measure their success by looking at how productive they’re being, how proactive they are in reaching out for help, how dedicated they are to their education, how resilient they are in the face of obstacles, how committed they are to school. Admire those who refuse to take the easy way out, even if they only get a C. These qualities, which are far more important than a 4.0, just don’t always translate directly into good grades.

I dislike seeing this message all over Tumblr, that to get better grades you just have to try harder – which carries with it the implication that if you don’t get good grades, it’s because you aren’t putting enough effort in – when I know from firsthand experience that this is not always true. I strongly believe in trying to be the best student you can be, rather than trying to be in the top 5%. But in the end, do what works for you. Just take it with a grain of salt.

And to my followers, and anyone reading this… please know that, if you work hard regardless of your grades, you are already a model student, and you are absolutely someone I look up to.

Warnings: none, unless swearing counts

————————————–

An irritating buzzing sound was the first thing I heard when I woke up Friday morning. I groaned in protest at my alarm clock, blindly reaching for my phone and checking the time.6:15
Great, I had literally only gotten two hours’ worth of sleep. Today was going to suck ass.
I sat up in my bed, yawning, and staring at the wall across my room for a solid minute before getting up and grabbing some clothes from my closet, throwing little to no effort in what I wore. Today’s pick was a pair of ripped black skinny jeans and a navy-blue sweater. Not far from what I usually wore, except a little more boyish and the sweater was huge on me. I tiredly made my way to my bathroom, brushing my teeth and putting my hair up, and doing a very minimal amount of makeup, just some mascara and concealer, really. I had stayed up all night, but that was my business, and I didn’t need people poking and prodding and asking questions.
There was a knock at my door before my boyfriend, Jughead Jones, stuck his head in.
“Hey, I’m a bit early today, but I have some news about Jas- Is that my shirt?” I raised my eyebrow and looked back down at the sweater, realization hitting me.
“Huh, guess it is.” I shrugged my shoulders, too tired to be embarrassed.” I can change if you w-“
“No! No, no, it’s okay, really.” Jughead smiled, his cheeks turning a light shade of pink.” I mean, you should wear it, it looks nice, really brings out your eyes…..” Jughead trailed off, scratching the back of his neck.
“Is the Jughead Jones suggesting that his girlfriend play the disgustingly cheesy wear-your-boyfriend’s-clothes card?” I taunted, stepping closer to my boyfriend. Jughead scoffed unconvincingly, sputtering.
“Please? Me? You’re crazy.” Jughead crossed his arms.
“Oh, Juggie.” I sighed happily, uncrossing his arms and intertwining his fingers with mine.” Underneath that cold, hard, edgy exterior you cover yourself in, there’s a sappy, mushy romantic, begging to break out.” I teased my boyfriend, standing on the tips of my toes and pressing my lips lightly to the bottom of his jaw, the only place I could reach.
“We should get going, I wanna go to Pop’s and get breakfast.” Jughead tilted his head down to look at me, a slight smile playing on the ends of his lips. I leaned against his chest, puckering mine slightly. Jughead rolled his eyes, the smile becoming bigger, and leaned down to give me a quick kiss. I grabbed my backpack from my bed and followed my boyfriend down the stairs and out my front door, walking hand in hand to our favorite diner.

An important note on Slav:

I’ve made no secret over my love of Slav, but I’d like to make a distinction on why/how.  Because yes, it’s funny to see Mr Calm In Control Black Paladin lose his goddamn shit with him, but that’s not the core of why I like that dynamic.  Because Slav gets under Shiro’s skin in a way we’ve literally never seen at all before.  Like, we’ve seen him with people he despises, like Labos, but doesn’t snarl at like that.

And I think it comes down to this: Shiro and Slav both have anxiety disorders, with Shiro’s PTSD and Slav’s OCD.  But they way they deal with it/how it manifests is very different.

Shiro puts a LOT of effort into minimizing his problems.  He works had to make sure no one around him sees it as much as possible, and he fears the way it might affect a mission or the people around him.  Shiro is very reserved with his anxieties, and feels like when they get out of control that it’s a personal failure, that he’s broken and a monster.

Slav, on the other hand, has no choice on the matter: He can’t function until his anxieties are dealt with, so he just deals.  He’s aware that it can and does annoy the people around him but that doesn’t matter, because it doesn’t matter to his OCD.  He’s gotta do what he’s gotta do.

In short, Slav is everything Shiro fears/hates about his own issues.  And I think that’s where a lot of Shiro’s irritation comes from.  Because yes, he’s in the way during a mission and they need to go, because they’re trying to defeat Zarkon and they have kind of a time limit, here.  But we never see Shiro lose it like that with other roadblocks.  Ever.

Because this is personal.

When I say I love Slav, it comes from a very genuine place.  I love that he does what he does, I love that he’s so smart and does so much weird stuff.  I love that he’s still so competent and effective, even when he’s doing something RIDICULOUS like smacking a massive taludiv (taluduv?) with a rock.

But at this point in his characterization, I don’t think Shiro can do anything but be annoyed with Slav.  Because how they deal - how their circumstances force them to deal - is so completely different and it literally goes against what Shiro has internalized as morally right (ie suppressing himself for the greater good).

And man, I want that addressed?  Like, it probably won’t be, but I’m looking forward to the chance to do so.  Because Shiro really needs a smack over the head for his actions, even if him losing his temper is funny.  And I think there’s a point where Shiro can really understand and emphasize with Slav, because they do come from a similar place.

Plus, when Shiro can acknowledge that he’s in the wrong and he’s taking something that’s not Slav’s fault out on him, maybe he can get to the point where he can accept taking care of himself and letting himself react and deal openly is okay.

This has been your daily Notice on Slav.

We all know how astonishingly talented Thomas is and how much time, effort and love he’s put into making the SanderSides, so much that at this point it’s extremely difficult to see his characters as Thomas, even though they are all literally him. They all have their own looks and little quirks, like the way they sound, stand, the things they say, the way they move, and even their own personalities. The way Prince has his hand gestures, how Anxiety ducks his head, how Dad adjusts his glasses and Logic straightens his tie. I really, really appreciate how much thought and effort Thomas puts into them all, but I also love the little things. Like how his editing is always neat and on point, no matter how frustrating and exhausting it must be to flip scenes and add audio with 3-5 different characters. How every time they appear on screen, there is quiet music specifically for them playing in the background that you can hear if you listen carefully. How Thomas has made such great content that even though we may have our favourite characters, we love them all. I just want everyone to appreciate @thatsthat24 for his hard work, for how dedicated and amazing and lovely he is, and for his overall brilliance. We love you!

Anon: can you do an analysis on 2013-2014 ji/kook please? thank you!

Anon: Do you think there’s a relation between Jungkook’s change of behavior towards Jimin from when he was underage to when he finally turned 20??? I feel like after finally not being underage anymore, that’s when he really changed and got bolder, shy-less and stuff.. He wasn’t like this, and now he’s.. Well, basically killing us with everything he does.

Anon: Do you think that Jimin’s fainting incident was a turning point for kook/min? I always thought that JK seemed to be a lot sweeter and softer with Jimin after that, but i could just be imagining things so I wanted a second opinion :) love you!!

Anon: you are my favourite kook/min blog!! kekekeke i was wondering what you think of tsundere!kook thinking that taking off his jacket for yoonji is cool when he did the same thing for jimin during their WoH shoot :)))

That’s right: I’m going to answer all these questions and comments in one long essay. I’m not kidding. This is like.. really long. It’s Jungkook-centric and head canon-heavy. Bring your tinfoil hats.

Right so I’ve made posts about this before but I just wanted to say something, speaking as someone who has never had credit stolen and has really only seen a couple friends experience that as well. My point being, I’m not just coming from some emotional self righteous place. I’m coming from a place of being a human being who believes in the common sense that if somebody created something, they should get credit for it. A fact which is apparently lost on or ignored by many people.

Let’s get some things straight:

  • Tagging or captioning something “not mine” does not make it okay to post without credit.
  • Saying “thanks but that’s not mine” when people compliment your post does not mean you’re giving credit.
  • People who create original content deserve to be credited. Some posters may have spent hours creating something, only to watch it be posted by someone who didn’t put in any of that effort, and gain recognition and likes and what have you without crediting the person who made it exist in the first place.
  • It doesn’t matter if it’s a photograph or a drawing (those seem to be the most common). Give credit to the creator.
  • It takes. So. Little. Time. To credit. Ideas in descending order according to length and effort:
    • Reposted from ____
    • Originally from ____

    • From _____ (that’s literally four letters, plus a link or username. I think you can handle that)
  • If you can’t find the original post via reverse Google search, at least link back to the source URL. It’s simply the decent thing to do.
  • Who really enjoys stupid, stressful arguments over credit? The offenders get defensive and mad, the posters get hurt and even angrier, and it all could be prevented by the simple act of crediting.
  • Like seriously. If for no other reason, just credit the damn person to avoid clogging people’s dashes with angry posts, wasting everyone’s time in blocking you, and getting into fights with internet people you’ll never see in real life.
  • Isn’t plagiarism bad? I mean the school system, internet, and life failed you drastically if you’ve never heard of plagiarism. People get suspended, failed, and expelled for it. So clearly that’s not cool.
  • As a final note, it would be very nice of you to even consider ASKING permission *gasp* before reposting. What a NOVEL idea! Let’s look at some options, shall we?
    • I wish I could *insert skill here* like you. Maybe you could give me some pointers? In the meantime would it be okay if I reposted this for inspiration/reference?
    • Hi! I really love this post and I was wondering if I could repost it to my *insert social media here*
    • Hey! Do you mind if I repost this? (oh DAMN look at that, that one took me less than 30 seconds to type. Holy shit the miracles of giving credit)

Long story short, JUST GIVE CREDIT. I cannot wrap my mind around why people find this such an insurmountable burden. Usually you got the photo directly from the source anyway, so you know where it came from. And it takes less than 5 minutes to do a reverse Google image search; if you can’t find ANY information, either consider not posting it and asking permission to repost something else, or at least put down the URL to indicate that this is not original content.

THE END.

P.S. Give credit. Please.

Bucky Fucking Barnes , your neighbour who fucks every other girl almost everyday . You’d have no  problem with peoples sex life since you have a  quite active one too, but it becomes a problem when you share a wall and can’t help but hear  “BUCKY BUCKY BUCKY  YEAH BUCKY” every other day form the mouth of a high pitched lady who is obviously faking it . Who screams like that? It boasts his ego to such an extent that he walks around completely cocksure of himself with a smirk on his face 24/7 .

You just want to slap it off his beautiful , pretty , fuckable face . Yep . You did have a crush on him when he moved in . He was nice to people around him , he helped out old ladies and was pretty good with kids . Why is that he was so arrogant when it came to you ? Well, you dodged his advances every single time . And every single time he just got even more unbearable.
