Harry loved family reunions.

Amongst the bickering cousins and lurid pitter-patter of children, he often found himself feeling at peace as his folks filled him in on all the stories he’s missed out on. He’d laugh about his jittery uncle who nearly burnt his eyebrows off from an old barbecue, nodding approvingly as his aunt gushes about her eight year old who’s just won the flashy new title of spelling bee champion. He likes the way they treat him too. With adoration in their eyes, resurrecting from the years they’ve watched him as a young boy (instead of the usual gaze of stardom he’s used to). He almost, if not, especially enjoys the way they admire his success, not as an ego-booster, but as a way of praising Anne for his upbringing, despite the major gossip that briefly tainted his mother’s name around her first divorce.

But even in a house packed with his most favourite people, he would always feel relatively exhausted from the length of the reunion, a full four days he’d reckoned. It was unfair really, he loved his crazy family, but he always felt like he had to put on his best face, never getting his usual dose of solitude to rejuvenate.

So when Harry first invited you to join him, he hadn’t quite expected you to be so patient with his family.

“Yes, he is very handsome,” you’d chuckle, “but we’re only friends.”

“You’re sweet, love, but I think this little girl wins the beauty contest, hmm?”

“Right, he is very good with kids.”

“M’only in uni, ma’am, so I’ve got a few good years before settling down.”

the first thing they do in their new house is collapse on the couch, isak right on top of even. he’s well aware that his elbows are digging into even’s stomach, but even doesn’t seem to mind, with the way he’s grinning at isak like this is the only place he wants to be right now. isak understands the feeling. his nose is a little itchy from the dust that’s collected on the couch over the years - his dad had offered them an old one, and isak hates taking shit from his father, but couches are expensive, goddammit. he never knew how inconvenient furniture truly was until he had to purchase his own. in spite of that, in spite of the boxes that still have to be unpacked, in spite of the spotty heating that they really have to get fixed before they both freeze to death, there’s only one path ahead for isak valtersen, and it’s the boy lying beneath him.

isak rubs his nose against even’s, inhaling his scent. he’ll get to wake up to it every morning now, come home to it, and he’s never felt so rooted. “did you ever think that we’d get to this point?” he asks.

“yeah,” even says simply. “i knew from the first time we talked. or, well, i talked. you mostly just blushed.”

isak shoves at his chest. “you fucking liar.”

even chuckles, the deep sound reverberating in the empty room. there will be time to fill this space with their story, their memories. “i’m not. being with you felt right, even when i didn’t know anything about you. i didn’t have a concept of my own future until i met you.”

isak tangles his fingers through even’s hair. he’d spent at least thirty minutes styling it this morning, but isak doesn’t think he would mind isak messing it up now. he’s got no one to impress. isak would be totally gone for him either way. “i don’t really know what my future looks like, but i know you’re in it,” isak says, soft as a whisper.

even laces his fingers through isak’s. “well, you have me.”

Can you possibly write about what would have happened if Snow hadn't come in when she did? I'd die happy!!

omfg anon I WASN’T PLANNING ON WRITING THIS because flkjhlkj i have so many things i should be writing (and also i have work today that i’ve been putting off) but like… i get it cause that scene fucking ruined me too, so here you go, have some porn with feelings. aslkjhs.

the scene (kitchen table sex with no interruptions) – AO3
~1800, explicit, obvs

“To hell with the pancakes,” is a sentiment that Killian wholeheartedly agrees with. He much prefers the taste of her tongue and the smell of dried sweat and lingering morning sex on her skin to anything else right now. And, it seems, she has nothing on her mind now either, aside from consuming his groans of pleasure and sliding her deft, teasing fingers across the back of his neck, down his shoulders, his chest, his tense abdomen, all the way there, where he is alive and awake and quite ready for another go at it.

He loves kissing her, always has; she’s a hell of a kisser and she knows it. Though he may have a few more centuries of experience, she’s managed to master the art in her short decades on this earth. Push, pull. Tongue, teeth. Wet lips, plush and pliant, with a gentle ease even when forceful and wild. He could drown in her kisses, although he has, in fact, been resuscitated by them once before. (Whatever excuse she’d had about that “CPR” nonsense had been just that: nonsense. It was definitely the press of her lips that saved him, of that he is entirely certain.)

It’s the combination that does him in – her mouth on his and her hands massaging him through the jeans that he wished he hadn’t even bothered putting on this morning. He can’t stand it, is too revved up and desperate for her that he couldn’t care less about anything else.

Learning to be okay without him is weird.
I swear I’ll be fine for weeks,
but one morning I’ll wake up
and my heart feels heavy for no reason at all
And I feel like I lost him all over again.
It’s just hard, you know?
Thinking you’re making all this progress only for it to be ruined when you see someone else brush their hair out of their eyes the same way he used to.
One little thing, and bam-
You start thinking that you’ll never be able to live without hearing his laugh ever again.

Please Hannigram and "Ssh. Stop fussing. I’m just braiding your hair.” ? : )

These are all coming out vageuly smutty tonight. Some post-season 3 hannigram.

Will sat behind the tub, sleeves rolled up around his elbows to keep them from getting wet as he rinsed conditioner from Hannibal’s hair.

When they’d first met, Hannibal’s hair had been ash brown shot through with strands of grey. He’d kept it so tidy. Slicked back hair, crisp suits, the picture of professionalism.

Now it was shaggy, curling around the tops of his ears and the back of his neck like the morning glory vines curled around their house. It shone in the warm afternoon light. Will felt as though he held liquid silver in his hands.

He separated out a few strands and began to weave them together.

“I’m not complaining about the attention, but I believe if you continue to rinse my hair my scalp may come off with it,” Hannibal said.

“Shh, stop fussing,” Will said. “I’m braiding your hair.”

Hannibal gave a long-suffering sigh, but Will could see the way the corners of his eyes were crinkled in a smile. He tucked the finished braid to the side and started another.

“If you keep growing your hair out it’s going to be long enough to put into a bun.”

“Would you like that?”

“Are you saying I get to have input on your personal style now?”

Hannibal tilted his head back to rest it against the edge of the tub. Will swept his fringe back for him, wondering if he could figure out how to french braid before the water in the tub went cold.

Hannibal shrugged, water rippling with the motion. “Whenever possible one must take into consideration their partner’s preferences, including those that pertain to personal grooming.”

“That’s a whole lot of words just to say you’re so whipped you’re letting me tell you how to do your hair.”

“I never said you get complete control. I only asked your preferences.”

Will rolled his eyes.

He combed his fingers through Hannibal’s hair, undoing one of the braids. Hannibal leaned into his touch. His eyes were closed, a small, satisfied smile on his face. Will half expected him to purr.

Unable to resist the temptation, he took a fistful of hair and tugged, yanking Hannibal’s head back so that he could kiss him, slow and deep.

His hair was just long enough for Will to begin to wind around his fingers and use to guide him to tilt his head this way and that. There was a special sort of pleasure that came with having Hannibal so completely at his whims with such a small point of contact.

Will had the brief image of winding a silver ponytail around his fist. Of using it to guide Hannibal to his knees. He groaned softly against Hannibal’s mouth.

“I think my preference,” Will said, lips brushing Hannibal’s mouth with every word, “is that you grow it out.”

Hannibal stared up at him with pupils blown wide; a mix of curiosity and arousal on his face. “Of course. Anything you like.”

Hi! So I was wondering. How to say if someone is an INTJ. I mean, I know all the basics and stereotypes, but what in the reality? Is there possibility to recognize them at spot? I'm an ENTP and I truly dream of some nice, typical INTJ to waltz into my life ;;

I am struggling with this myself. But, you know, the process I’ve learned is like this:

Typing Your Average INTJ

  • The person under question of being an INTJ is often quiet in most conversations, but very confident and oftentimes sarcastically/sardonically funny when they do pipe up
  • You often have no doubt that they’re an NT type…they’re pretty intellectual and will make sure you know that they are
  • Often not dressed according to any sort of trend. They usually dress for comfort or display some sort of interest of theirs
    • My INTJ boyfriend is really into Star Wars and America in general and always wears shirts with death stars and Darth Vader and American flags on them
    • Another INTJ I know never dresses in anything but a sweatshirt and jeans, just depends on their will to express themselves (though in the middle of summer this INTJ will wear Rush t-shirts quite often to display his love of the band)
  • Hair is usually standard or unkempt. This type is not one to want to maintain and style their hair a certain way every day–that’s out of the question
  • Often have some sort of “autistic touch” behavior as my ENTP friend says–will have weird “ticks” like scrunching their eyebrows a lot or picking at the soles of their shoes (even on dates/formal meetings/AKA no social awareness)
  • They’ll be aware of their little ticks and such but are 9 times out of 10 absolutely fine with it. I dunno, as an Fe user that would drive me insane, but to INTJs it’s just being themselves and they’re A-ok with that. This is one thing I particularly really love about INTJs for whatever reason
  • They have a death glare. They don’t know that they do it, but they stare at random people while in deep thought and really scare certain people because they think the INTJ is glaring at them, but in reality they’re just thinking about what it’d be like if British imperialism was revived, only this time in space
  • Alright, stereotype time, they’re usually pretty arrogant or boastful about their intellect and will make you feel like you’re an ant compared to their giant mental prowess
  • They will tell you you’re dumb if they think you’re dumb. Brutally honest folks here, y’all
  • That being said, if they’re super healthy INTJs, they may be nicer and less “mean” with their words and be careful with word choices, but the gist is the same
The One-Night Perfect Relationship | Alex Standall X Reader

Warnings: fluffy. Also happy!Alex. And may or may not have some High School Musical songs in the story, but, oh well…

(E/C) stand for “Eye color”/(B/F/N) stand for “Best friend’s name”.

Word Count: 2550 words.

Masterlist

One part of her didn’t want to be there, but the other one, which she decided to listen to, felt that the night could get better somehow. (Y/N) was on the bleachers, considerably alone since she didn’t know anyone who was sitting there, watching people dance with their dates and friends at the dance. They were jumping around, but they seemed to be having fun while doing it, which made her feel like dancing too, but everyone there had a group of friends and she didn’t want to be the weirdo jumping alone.

(Y/N) wanted to dance and her body was starting to send signals that she needed to move. So she began to sway slightly from side to side, trying not to draw attention of anyone on the bleachers. When a familiar song began to play, (Y/N) forgot for a second to try to be discreet and shook her head as she moved her arms up, letting a small smile escape her lips until she realized what she was doing, her eyes widening and bringing her arms back down. Damn the upbeat songs. It was only for a few seconds, but she had already managed to get someone’s attention.

The girl lowered her head, looking down at her own feet. And then she felt that sense of when someone is staring at you. The girl’s (E/C) eyes looked up shyly and started looking for someone who was looking at her, stopping at a boy with bleached blonde hair who was sitting a little distant of her. He had a small grin on his face, he wanted to laugh. This made (Y/N) feel her cheeks heating up as she looked down again, even more embarrassed.

“Nice moves.” she heard a male voice, which obviously came from the boy, talking to her. “Hi.”

“Hi.” she gave a small wave, looking sheepishly at him.

(Y/N) had seen him around school, but she couldn’t remember if she’d ever heard his name.

“Why are you alone here?” he spoke again after a few seconds in silence.

(Y/N) grimaced. “I didn’t even know I was coming here today.” the boy raised an eyebrow at her. “I didn’t plan to come, but my friend bought two tickets and dragged me here.”

He nodded, staring at the rest of the people in the bleachers. "Why isn’t she here with you, then?”

“She brought me because she thought her date wasn’t coming.”

“But he came.” he completed his reasoning on his own. “So she dumped you alone here.”

“Sitting here isn’t so bad.” he gave her a disbelieving glance, but she just laughed. “Why are you here?”

His eyes turned to the dance floor and he pointed to someone she couldn’t define who it was. “I was hoping to dance with her.”

“Sorry about that.”

“Nah, I deserve it.”

Neither of them said anything for a few more seconds, watching people still dancing in their strange way.

“What’s your name?” (Y/N) broke the silence, turning to him.

“Alex.” he gave her a small smile, turning his head toward her. “And you are?”

“(Y/N).” she smiled back at him.

Alex looked at her for a few more seconds before pointing to the empty seat beside her. “Can I…?” he asked for her permission to approach.

“Sure.” (Y/N) smile widened as the boy crawled over to her side.

The dance was supposed to be, well, for dancing, but soon (Y/N)’s urge to dance was decreasing while talking to Alex. On the dance floor they hardly would be able to talkbut there where they were, they could enjoy each other’s company more. They spent more than half of the Winter Formal getting to know each other better, starting a competition of who had the most shameful story to tell and, overall, talked about everything.

"So, I was already in my pajamas and getting ready to watch my shows when I heard a horn outside.” (Y/N) started telling the story of that night, seeming to amuse Alex with it. “And I went to see who it was and (B/F/N) was all ‘Get in loser, we’re going to the dance’.”

“The ‘Mean Girls’ of real life.” he said with a laugh.

"Yeah, I totally am Lindsay Lohan.”

Alex looked at the girl from head to toe before smiling. "You’re not upset about being left by your friend?”

“Not at all.” she shrugged. “I wasn’t joking when I said it wasn’t so bad to be here. I think it’s kind of cool to be able to see this big socialization of confused teenagers from afar.” (Y/N) pointed at them dramatically, then turning to point at the boy next to her. "And a little socialization right here.”

Alex still had a smile on his face as he took the girl’s finger pointing to his face.

"I’ve never noticed you until today, you know.” he said, then frowned. “Did that sound rude?”

“A little bit, yeah.” (Y/N) chuckled as he apologized. “Well, I had noticed you before.”

That seemed to get his attention, his eyebrows arching with curiosity. “Oh, really?”

"I took an interest in you because of your hair.”

“Oh, this.” Alex grimaced as he pointed at his hair.

“It’s like it’s from another world. I always wondered what it would be like to touch it.”

“Be careful there, it’ll take you to another dimension.” he grinned, nudging her.

(Y/N) smiled, looking once more at the dance floor, something catching her eyes. She frowned at the scene she was seeing before she began to laugh. Alex smiled slightly, caught by the girl’s laughter.

"What are you laughing at?”

“They got style.” she answered, motioning two people jumping in a very strange –yet funny- way. (Y/N) managed to recognize the boy as Clay Jensen, but she wasn’t sure of the girl’s name, even though she had already seen and heard about her.

“Your moves are better, though.” (Y/N) laughed at his words, remembering the ridiculous dance that had performed.

“Shut up.” she smiled slightly, listening to a slow song start playing and people start to pair up. “Wanna go out?”

“Hm?” he looked confused.

“The dance is about to end. Want to walk out there a little?”

“Yeah, sure.” Alex stood up and reached out to help her up. What a gentleman.

He was walking ahead and as soon as the girl stood up the urge to dance came back. Then she tried to sway a little as she stepped out of the bleachers. Wrong move. She stumbled and almost fell, catching the attention of a few people who looked at her, laughing.

"What the hell are you looking at?” Alex asked them as he came back to help the girl out.

(Y/N)’s ankles ached slightly making the girl whimper down as she walked. She saw her friend looking at them both with a smirk, causing the girl to roll her eyes and lower her head.

“What the hell was that?” Alex asked as they walked toward the exit from the school.

“I was trying to perform, if you didn’t notice.” she stopped to massage her leg for a second before continuing to walk. “As if it were High School Musical or something.”

Alex’s head turned to her with the mention of the movie, a smile on his face. "So it looks like I got a Disney fan here.”

“Totally, man.” she said before she felt the cold night air hit her face as they reached the outside.

They continued to walk in silence until they were completely off the school grounds and started walking on the sidewalk, where some people passed as well. Alex started to walk slightly faster than (Y/N), staying a little ahead of her before turning to her, making her stop walking too.

“Alex…?” she frowned when she saw him taking a deep breath.

Livin’ in my own world, didn’t understand.” he began to sing. Oh no, he wasn’t doing that. (Y/N)’s mouth opened slightly, not knowing exactly what to do. “That anything can happen, when you take a chance.

(Y/N) was still, not knowing what to do, when Alex looked at her expectantly, making a smile spread on her face, before she cleared her throat. “I never believed in.” the boy smirked at her. “What I couldn’t see, I never opened my heart.”

“Ooh.” he made sure to say it in a very dramatic way, which made (Y/N) laugh.

“To all the possibilities.” she continued to laugh as he approached her. “Uh.”

Alex started to swing toward her as they sang. “I know that something has changed.” (Y/N) mimicked his movements and began to swing too. “Never felt this way.” she was sure that people were looking at them at that moment. “And right here tonight, this could be the start of something new.” after all, it wasn’t so usual to see two teenagers singing loudly in the middle of the street. “It feels so right to be here with you.” they both grinned at each other. “And now looking in your eyes, I feel in my heart the start of something new.”

The boy, with an amused smile, raised one of his hands, motioning for her to hold it. “Now who’d ever thought that.”

(Y/N) copied his smile, raising her hand and intertwining in his as they sang. “We’d both be here tonight.”

“And the world looks so much brighter.” she continued as he lowered their hands and pulled her down the sidewalk. “With you by my side.”

Alex seemed to have found something he was looking for on the sidewalk, letting go of (Y/N)’s hand, and walking quickly to a bench, getting up on it as they continued. "I know…” he turned to her, holding out his hands to help the girl up. “That something has changed.” (Y/N) laughed through her words, shaking her head as she walked quickly to where he was. “Never felt this way.” she accepted his help. “I know it for real, this could be the start of something new.” Alex took careful steps, imitating with his hands the moves she had made earlier that night, making her laugh while doing the same thing, shaking her head from side to side. “It feels so right to be here with you.” (Y/N) felt like jumping, just like people were doing at the Winter Formal, but she knew she would either break the bench or fall from there. “And now looking in your eyes.” Alex slowed his dance moves, looking for the girl’s eyes; (Y/N) did the same. “I feel in my heart …” they smiled at each other. “The start of something new.”

They kept staring at each other for a few more seconds, neither of them daring to break the eye contact, until a car stopped in front of them, honking. (B/F/N). (Y/N) got startled, almost felling off the bench because of it, causing Alex to hold her, holding the girl by her waist.

“Thanks.” she murmured a little sheepishly.

“Hey girl, you want a ride?” (B/F/N) asked.

(Y/N) was about to accept when Alex’s voice caught her attention. “If you want, I can take you home.” a small hopeful glow gleamed in his eyes, and only then she realized that his arm hadn’t left her waist. Not that she was going to complain about it.

“Alex will take me.” she turned again to (B/F/N), who smirked, nodding.

“She better get home alive, Standall.”

“As you wish, ma'am.” the girl laughed at his answer before winking at them and driving away. “She seems to be cooler than Regina George.”

(Y/N) laughed. “Sometimes she is.”

“Come on.” he released his arm from her waist and getting down from the bench, then helping the girl do the same.

Thank God that High School Musical performance hadn’t taken them so far from the school parking lot. (Y/N) had always complained that school was really far from her home, so she had to wake up early if she wanted to be in time for class. But at that moment she couldn’t be more grateful for that, it meant she would have more time to talk to Alex.

In the end, she could see that the part of her that thought that night could have got better had guessed right. She’d met Alex and that had made that night exceptional. They had hit it off, and that night seemed somehow magical. So that could only mean: either that was really the beginning of something new or that had been an one-night perfect relationship. (Y/N) sincerely bet on the second, although she wanted the first one to be right.

An one-night perfect relationship is the one you have, well, for one night. When you aren’t suffocated with your daily problems and the pressures of your friends. You are a diferente person on this one night, more relaxed and even happier. Who would know how things would be between them if they talk to each other every day, or what would it be like in front of their friends? Well, there’s no way of knowing if it’s just a one-night thing or something else until you try it, what really counts is making the night worthwhile.

These thoughts passed over (Y/N) mind as they got out of the car, since Alex had offered to walk with her to the door.

“Well, I’m sure I won’t not notice you from now on.” he said when they reached her door.

"Well, it’s not just your hair that makes me interested in you anymore.” she said, a small smirk on her lips.

He chuckled. “I’m glad.”

They looked at each other for a few more seconds, both thinking practically the same thing. Alex wanted to kiss her as much as she wanted to kiss him. But would not that be wrong? Would not it be too soon? But then again, what if the next day they didn’t feel the same thing they felt at that moment? Don’t think too much, make the night worthwhile. It’s now or never.

Alex quickly leaned toward her, pressing their lips together, placing one of his hands on her waist and the other on the girl’s cheek. (Y/N) wasted no time and soon began kissing him back, moving her lips against his, placing her hands on his neck, but only so she could touch his hair. Alex noticed that and gave a small smile into the kiss, which soon turned into a laugh, making him pull away from her and rest his forehead on hers as he laughed.

“Sorry.” he said still laughing, which made the girl laugh together.

"I really thought for a moment that this was going to take me to another dimension.” it only made him laugh more, being accompanied by her.

The laughter took a while to decrease, until there were only smiles on their faces. “Bye, Gabriella.”

“See you around, Troy.”

Alex gave her a long peck before letting go of her and starting to walk away, a smile still on his face. (Y/N) watched him for a few seconds before opening the door, listening to him honking at her, waving goodbye from inside the car before leaving. The girl closed the door, resting her back on it. Whether it was the beginning of something new or just a one-night thing, it was worth it.

Of All My Parents’ Friends

@heartthesouth asked:

Imagine Roger describing 1960s Claire (and possibly his remembrance of 1940s Claire from his childhood) to Jamie.

One-shot; takes place just after the Gathering in book-verse (The Fiery Cross).

Bear in mind, this means Jamie and Roger are only *newly* on solid-ish ground after all the unpleasantness between them in Drums of Autumn. If you haven’t read the books, just imagine the very worst start a man could get off to with his father-in-law. (YIKES.)

 -Mod Bonnie

Fraser’s Ridge, North Carolina

October, 1770

Puiff-ee?”

The word sounded absolutely stupid coming out of his father-in-law’s mouth, which (infuriatingly!) made ROGER feel the foolish one. “C’mon, ye know. Poofy? Like—voluminous?—

Jamie Fraser snorted violently into his lunch of bread and pickle and Roger felt a wave of anxiety. Was the word somehow offensive in this time??  But surely ‘poofy’ was more easily misconstrued than—

But Jamie—seated on a log next to Roger’s boulder—came up grinning, still coughing on crumbs as he choked out, “Ye mean to say there was a time when Claire’s hair was MORE voluminous than it is NOW?”

They both laughed and Roger drank in the relief of the camaraderie, flimsy as it might be.

“Christ almighty,” Jamie swore with feeling as the laughter subsided, shaking his head in genuine incredulity, “however did she manage THAT?”

“I dinna ken exactly,” Roger admitted with a hopefully-easy shrug, passing the stone bottle of cider, “Claire’s was sort of—” he made a swooping gesture overtop his own crown “—um…I dinna ken how to describe it.. Kind of—”

“A bouffant,” Brianna interjected helpfully, plopping down next to Jamie (well, as much as a six-foot-tall woman with a sleeping baby strapped to her front could ‘plop’) and doing a quick sketch in the dirt with a stick.

“Oh, aye, a *bouffant,*” He grinned, leaning over to kiss his wife and son, grateful for the buffer. “I definitely knew that’s what it was called.”

“How does—? But—where do the curls go?” Jamie kept tilting his head from side to side like a puppy as he peered down, clearly having difficulty translating the rough illustration to his wife’s head. “And how in hell did she get it to stay all rounded and puffed up?”

“HAIRSPRAY,” he and Bree said in unison, though he left the task of explaining aerosol cans and their uses to the engineer.

By the end, Jamie was grinning like a fiend. “Claire would glue her hair into place every day for fashion??

“Yep!” Bree laughed, expertly cupping Jem’s head as she bent forward to reach for a hunk of bread, “unless she was doing an operation that day, obviously. Not much call for style under a scrub cap.”

Shaking his head in gleeful wonder, Jamie turned back to Roger. “What else was different about ‘Sixties Claire,’ to your eye, other than the hair?”

“Oo, her groovy makeup!” Bree said through a large bite.

Gr–? Cosmetics, ye mean?”

“Aye, just so!” Roger said, hoping to win some son-in-law points, meagre as they might be. “And ‘groovy’ just means daring in an admirable way.”

“Well, that sounds like Claire, right enough. Does every woman wear the Greuvvy Makeup, then?”

Bree shrugged. “Pretty much.”

“I tell ye what, though,” Roger said emphatically, seeing the opportunity and seizing it, “Claire certainly didna need all that. Not one bit.”

It was like a horror film.

Two identical faces swiveled on tall, twin necks, fixing him with identical expressions of amusement. Or possibly menace. Either way, absolutely TERRIFYING.

What?” he snapped, his face flushing as he looked back and forth between them.

Jamie’s eyebrows were raised. “Why should Claire not have needed the cosmetics?”

Bree raised hers to match, her lips quivering with suppressed laughter. “Yes, Roger: do tell!”

He made a scoffing sound. “Well, no, I mean—”

“If ‘pretty much’ all women wore it,” Jamie asked, face completely inscrutable, “why should Claire have been any different?

“No, she’s—Well, I mean she IS—” This was not going well. “All I was trying to say is Claire’s very—She’s got very lovely—”

The movie had shifted into one where the out-of-control-robot car had locked you inside and was accelerating top-speed into a canyon. Cannot—BRAKE—

“—SKIN!”

“OH. MY. GODDD!!” Bree whooped with glee, making Jemmy jump in his sleep and thump his forehead against her chest.

Jamie said nothing and only sipped his drink, but damn him, there was an effing GLEAM in those cats’ eyes.

Bree coughed through her giggles and waved her hand in a ‘hold on, hold on’ gesture. “So—wait: when we met in Inverness….were you checking out my mother’s ‘skin’?”

“I wasna CHECKING HER OUT,” he insisted with a mocking tone to show what a ridiculous suggestion it was (but SHIT if he didn’t sound all kinds of guilty AND if he didn’t want to fling himself into a hole and never come out). Pull yourself the fuck together, MacKenzie.

Look,” he sighed, “Claire’s a very attractive woman, and—”

“So we’ve gone from verra lovely to verra *attractive*, have we?”

“It—I—” Damn that fucking ginger hide: Roger couldn’t tell if the man was poking fun or literally about to bash his head open against a tree.

“Wait, wait, didn’t—oh JEEZ, it’s too much—” Bree was clutching Jem tight, dying with laughter, and was NOT giving this up. “Didn’t you tell me once that Mama reminded you of Anne Bancroft??”

ffffffffffucking hellllllllllllllllllllll

“Who’s that?” Jamie demanded, his narrowed eyes snapping to Roger.

Yep, it had now become the kind of horror movie where the supporting actor looks at the camera and gets in that *one great scream* for their reel right before they get eaten alive to thicken the plot for the protagonists.

Bree was on a roll. “A famous, very *sexy* actress! She was in a—play (sort of) with Dustin Hoffman who has the role of this university boy who is seduced by an older wo—”

“—S’QUITE ENUFF’A’THAT!” His voice cracked on the panicked outburst (can a man not catch a BREAK???), at which his wife dissolved into further spasms. “Oh for God’s sake, Bree, it was YOU that I checked out, if ye need reminding!!”

“And just why were ye ‘checking out’ an unmarrit lass?” Jamie said, turning expertly on the conversational dime, “A guest in your home, no less? MY daughter?”

“I wasna—I ABSOLUTELY did NOT—Oh, for fuck’s SAKE!”

They were both quaking with laughter where they sat.

Roger threw up his hands up and stormed to his feet. “You two bloody deserve each other, ye know! Twisting a man’s words, ‘til—Oh, willye shut up and LISTEN, THE BOTH OF YE!”

They knocked heads as they slumped against each other, tears streaming down their ruddy cheeks.

Roger made huge, sweeping gestures to left and right for emphasis. “CLAIRE IS VERY BEAUTIFUL. BRIANNA IS VERY BEAUTIFUL. WE’RE ALL FAMILY NOW, CAN WE BE *DONE* WI’—”

“What on EARTH are you lot bellowing about!?!”

He whirled around to see Claire, flushed and dirt-streaked, gathering basket in hand, her eyes wide. “Is everything alright?”

Roger gave both redheads a sidelong glare that HE would have said could have melted steel, but just make Brianna shake even harder. She was suppressing outright cackling only by pressing her lips into the top of Jemmy’s fuzzy head.

“Nay, all’s well, mo nighean donn,” Jamie said, surprising Roger by getting to his feet. He came over to put a hand on his wife’s waist and kiss her on the cheek. “Roger Mac, here, was only singing the praises of your great charm and beauty, mo ghraidh, much to the credit of ye both.”

“Oh! Well!” Claire flushed, sounding both surprised and pleased. “That’s very sweet of you, Roger, dear, thank you.”

Roger, stunned, scraped up enough presence of mind to give her a smile and a little self-deprecating bow.

She didn’t bother to suppress a grin as she went on her way toward the drying shed. “I rather needed that, today.”

Once she was out of earshot, Roger met Jamie’s eye and inclined his head with a sincere, “Thanks.”

“Think nothing of it,” his father-in-law said, clapping him on the shoulder in passing as he headed back to the woodpile “…Dustin.”

"Don't be fucking rude!" please? xx

enemies to lovers is my ultimate kink goodbye

There were no words to describe just how much I hated Harry Styles. The way he dressed like an off duty model, the way he never cut his goddamn hair, the way he always got what he wanted. I had begged our director not to cast him in the role opposite me.

“I’ll do anything, please, give another guy a chance.”

She raised her eyebrows at me, “I’ll give another guy a chance when they get as good as Harry.” I sighed and closed my eyes as she continued. “We don’t give handouts in the theater and we certainly don’t let our disdain for other actors get in the way of our art. So be professional, I expect more from you than this petty nonsense.”

“Yes ma'am.” I murmured as I looked over her shoulder at Harry who was talking to some of his friends, laughing about something he had said that I’m sure wasn’t funny as he picked his satchel up off the ground and threw it over his shoulder.

Harry knew I hated him. It wasn’t a secret. He also knew he would get this role and we would have to play lovers. He knew I would rather die than play someone who was supposed to be in love with him. And he auditioned for the role anyway, winking right at me when he announced which role he wanted. Fucking wanker.

***

We did our first scene together the next day, scripts in hand as we proclaimed our love for each other. In my head I was thinking of absolutely anything else, like what I was going to eat for dinner tonight.

“Stop, stop, stop, stop!” Our director yelled as Harry leaned in to kiss me. I tried not to slump in relief. “I feel nothing.” She threw her hands up in the air, “I picked the two of you because you’re the best I have and I thought you could overcome your differences–”

Harry and I immediately started babbling, trying to defend ourselves, talking over one another.

“Enough!” She pinched the bridge of her nose and took a deep breath. “The two of you are going to do an exercise together to work on your intimacy.”

“Fantastic.” Harry muttered sarcastically. “I don’t need to do this exercise,” He said louder, “She’s the one who clearly zones out when doing scenes with me it’s like she’s not even there.”

I started to defend myself but she said, “Then maybe you should try to be more captivating, Harry, honestly I almost fell asleep myself listening to you.” I snickered and Harry glared at me, “You’ll both do the exercise or I recast the both of you.” We started to protest but she held up a hand, “If one of you can’t do it you both lose your parts. Work together.”

I was furious. I couldn’t believe this idiot was going to make me lose my role.

“Now, the exercise.” She clapped her hands together, “Props! Get me some blankets and pillows!”

I already did not like where this was going and I could see the look of horror mirrored on Harry’s face as we watched the props team set up a makeshift bed in the middle of the stage.

“I want the two of you to lay down under those blankets like you’re husband and wife and I want you to talk to each other. I don’t have to hear it, no one in this room has to hear it, but I want you to talk. I’ll know if you didn’t do it right so don’t even try to fake it.”

I looked around the room at the rest of the cast and crew, “…With everyone watching?”

She rolled her eyes, “Everyone take a twenty minute break!” She announced and everyone dispersed, leaving us alone on the stage. She soundlessly pointed to the blankets and pillows and turned away from us.

Harry and I glared at each other for a few moments, “Are you going to do this or are you going to continue acting like a child who throws a tantrum when she doesn’t get her way?”

I rolled my eyes and walked towards the blankets, “Don’t be fucking rude.”

“Maybe if you were nice to me I wouldn’t be,” Harry said sitting down next me, “You know, most people like me, I’m still not sure why you don’t.”

“It must really kill your ego that I don’t like you, huh?” I settled onto the pillow, Harry following after me, facing each other on the ground. “The one girl in the whole world who won’t get on her knees for you.”

“Not close enough!” Our director yelled from the audience.

I sighed and scooted closer to Harry.

“Put your arm around her! Jesus, you’re in love for Christ’s sake.”

Harry sighed and put his arm around me, pulling me close enough so I could feel his breath on my face. “Only girl who won’t get on her knees for me, but didn’t take much to get you into bed.” Despite myself, I laughed and our foreheads touched. “Ah, she has a sense of humor after all.”

I stopped laughing, “I’ve always had a sense of humor, you’re just not funny.”

“Why aren’t you touching him, Y/N?” I sighed at the sound of her voice before resting a hand on his cheek, lightly scratching against the stubble on his jaw.

He smirked at me, the smug asshole. “That feels nice.”

I resisted the urge to slap him and instead took a deep breath. “Come on, it’s not that bad pretending to be in love with me.” He squeezed my waist. “I’ve been told I’m an excellent lover.” He whispered in my ear, sending chills down my spine. “Let yourself fall in love with me for a minute.” He said and his voice was so soothing I closed my eyes. “I could fall in love with you. I’ve thought about it sometimes, when I watch you onstage. You’re so incredibly talented, you’ve brought me to tears more than once. I’ve always wanted to act opposite you even though you hated me.” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing, I was so still, I wasn’t entirely sure I was breathing. “And those lips…” He pulled back from my ear until his forehead touched mine, “I’ve thought about kissing them more times than I care to admit.”

I stared at him, suddenly conscious of every place his skin touched mine. “This is all part of the exercise, right?” I whispered.

He blinked. Instead of answering his finger reached up to graze my cheek and then cupped behind my neck before pulling me to him, our lips colliding gently at first as they explored unfamiliar territory. He was a nice kisser. He had soft lips and knew when to speed up movements, when to pull me closer, when to nibble on my lip and I was breathless when he finally pulled away. His eyes were wild as he looked at me, thumb still idly stroking my cheek.

“Of course.” He breathed. “Just for the exercise.” But he made no move to pull away from me and instead rubbed his thumb over my lower lip.

Unwanted Attention

Hi guys! This has been in my drafts for ages and I completely forgot about it until yesterday! Hope you enjoy. :)

Plot: Harry has this one friend who loves hitting on Y/N.

Warnings: Curse words and handsy moments while dancing. Nothing smutty and nothing violent though.

There was something off about Jordan. His icy blue eyes followed my movements like a hawk observing his prey and when he noticed me staring back at him he flashed me one of his sleazy grins. He was a handsome guy, there was no denying that, but from the moment he’d been introduced to me I could sense that he simply wasn’t one to take a hint. It wasn’t even about me being too pretty and him just finding me irresistible, not by any means. It was that Jordan couldn’t bear a girl not wanting him. His brain simply couldn’t comprehend how I hadn’t fallen to his feet yet. I shuddered under his sharp eyes and shrunk further into the warmth of Harry’s side. Harry didn’t look at me but responded by resting his arm around my shoulders and leaning his head against mine momentarily while chuckling along to one of Nick’s jokes, giving me comfort without having even noticed that I needed it. My eyes found Jordan’s once more and my heart dropped when he was still grinning, wider this time and with his brows raised. Almost as if he was trying to say that he accepted the challenge.

Harry laughed loudly, squeezing me to him and I straightened my posture staring back at Jordan confidently. My hand rested on Harry’s chest, the other arm wrapped around his back and my temple leaned against his arm. I was saying something back clearly. The only reason I was here was Harry and Jordan could fuck off.

….

It was a friday night what naturally meant that Harry wanted to go out. From the moment I opened the door for him to enter my apartment he’d been talking about nothing else other than this bar which had only just opened in East London. Thanks to his ever charming soul he’d become friends with the owner and owned one of the few invitations to the opening party tonight.

“You’ve got to come with me,” Harry insisted, “Nick and Jordan are coming, too.”

“Sounds like a guy’s night out then,” I murmured, trying to decline his proposal as nicely as I could, “I don’t think I should intervene, Harry.”

“As if you’d intervene,” Harry said quickly, rolling his eyes as if I was being completely absurd, “You couldn’t possibly. C'mon, love, you’ve got to!”

Honestly, a night out with Harry sounded perfect. I loved seeing him dance, hearing him sing and laughing along to all of the silly puns tipsy Harry could come up with. We had spent many fun nights out together, starting with him helping me choose a dress and me painting his nails and ending with the both of us dropping on either his or my bed, too drunk to care about sleeping in our cloths and in each other’s arms.
Harry was the best company and every moment I got to spend with him was one I treasured. I didn’t like having to avoid Harry in order to avoid Jordan, but he’d already invited him and no matter my feelings for Harry, his friend truly was the last person I wanted to spend my night with. But at the same time… ugh.
I groaned and let my head fall back onto the couch, turning to look at Harry who was sprawled out next to me. He wore a hopeful look, his sparkling eyes wide and his lips set in a pout.

“Please,” he whined, “Nick’s been bugging me by calling you ‘Harry’s best friend who never turns up’ and he’s kinda right with it.”

“Oh shut up,” I laughed.

He rolled onto his side and began pulling at my arm, making me lay down as well so we were both facing each other. I hummed when his hand found mine so he could move his thumb over my palm in a soothing motion and I smiled at him lovingly, enjoying to just be able to appreciate him without him noticing, his gaze set on my fingers. His forehead was furrowed and his lips still in a pout, his expression resembling the one of a little boy who failed to understand something.

“We don’t even have to stay long,” Harry mumbled, focus still on my hand, “let’s just go, please.”

“Ugh,” I groaned and let my head drop against his shoulder in defeat, “fine.”

“Yehi!” Harry cheered, surprising me by jumping up with a sudden energy bolt and he threw himself onto my body, not caring one bit that his weight was crushing me.

His lips met the skin of my cheek in a loud kiss and I grimaced, batting his face away while laughing.

“It’s going to be great, you’ll see,” Harry promised, his cheeks stretched in a wide and confident grin.

I smiled and chuckled at how happy and cheery Harry was all of a sudden, but at the same time I couldn’t help a tiny pang of guilt in my tummy. He was thrilled to be going out and looked forward to spending the night with his friends and all I could think about was how this meant I would practically be exposed for Jordan to ogle me all night, silently undressing me with his eyes.
I watched Harry laugh as he went on with a story Jeff had told him and I wrapped my arms around his chest, cuddling into his side and I made a point of humming whenever it fit, letting him know that I was listening. Maybe tonight wouldn’t be all bad, I thought as I noticed the crinkles around his eyes and breathed in his familiar smell. After all, I wouldn’t be alone.

….

The alcoholic liquid left a heavy taste on my tongue and wrapped my head in a cloudy daze making me dizzy momentarily. My throat burned and I mentally cursed Harry for making me engage in his stupid drinking games. Still, I set the empty glass down only seconds after Harry smashed his own onto the countertop, scoring in second. Harry cheered and let his dimples show when he grinned widely and he held out his hand to high five me just when Jordan and Nick finished their shots too.

“I’d say we all know who’s the winner,” Harry announced proudly with a drop of tequila running down his chin and Nick rolled his eyes.

The bar was as crowded as I had expected it to be on a friday night, causing people to stumble into me whenever someone tried to reach the bar. The music was loud and everyone around us was dancing and laughing, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the building. So far Harry had been right, at least up until a few minutes ago. We’d been drinking good drinks and my tummy ached from laughing so hard at his stupid jokes, so it was hard to deny I was having fun. The best thing was that Jordan hung out with a group of girls for most of the night so far, only joining us minutes ago when he was done bathing in the girl’s attention. I’d lowered my gaze under Jordan’s watchful eyes and had hoped he’d just leave again.
Harry had stayed oblivious to me scooting a little closer to him and so had Nick. Only Jordan had noticed and his eyes had narrowed, never letting me out of sight.

“Such a show off, Styles,” Nick laughed and playfully pushed Harry by his shoulder, “Your victory was a close call between you and your bestie over there so don’t get too cocky.”

“I’m aware,” Harry laughed and send me a proud smile.

I giggled and shrugged, fist-pumping Harry.
He looked incredibly handsome, especially with the newly gained growth of his hair, the stubborn curls already fighting their way back. I knew he missed the length of his hair, but I secretly loved the short strands crowning his head. They were less likely to shield his pretty face from my view. Though I admired him for his effortless attractiveness, it bugged me how he could pull off anything and looked good even with his typical jeans and dad-shirt look. Everything suited him, which was surely caused by his confidence.

“But that’s on me, too,” Harry continued proudly, pushing our used shot glasses together so he could pick them all up in both of his massively big hands, “Who do you think taught her?”

Nick raised both arms with a laugh and looked at me for confirmation. A giggle fell from my mouth at the memory of Harry spending the night at my place many months ago, the counter of my kitchen littered with shot glasses and different spirit bottles as he lectured me on how it was my tongue’s fault that I couldn’t do it right. He’d even argued that the muscle in my mouth must have been to big and that I’d need to move it to the side more. The result of me trying had been a stained shirt and wet chest and of course a laughing Harry, but at least I was good at it now.

“S'true,” I agreed, “You won’t admit it but your instructions only worked 'cause I’m a talented student.”

Harry laughed. “Oh, so my teaching skills are shit, then? S'that what you’re trying to tell me?”

I was about to reply when Jordan’s rough voice interrupted us in a snarl, “Jesus Christ we get it. You guys are fucking each other just stop bullshitting us.”

He rolled his eyes, no humor in his expression and he seemed as if he was completely done with Harry and me. I shook my head and wanted to bite something back, but reconsidered and stayed silent. Harry had been so excited to spend time with his friends, I didn’t want to ruin it by starting a fight.

“Oh, piss off, Jordan,” Harry scoffed with a laugh.

“Oi,” Nick called, raising his brows at me with a teasing grin on his face, “What did I miss?”

He looked at me expectantly as if I was about to tell him the greatest story he’d ever heard. I gave him a playful push back.

“You guys,” I began, “are assholes.”

Harry chuckled, shaking his head, “I’ll get us another round.”

He nodded to the other end of the bar where all of the bartenders were gathered and turned to walk towards it, taking the glasses with him. How the hell could he fit them all in both of his hands? Thinking the same, Nick was quick to offer help and so he was gone and after Harry before I could beg him to stay.
Well… fuck. I was left in the exact situation I’d hoped I wouldn’t be in, one I’d dreaded so much it had made me want to avoid coming here in the first place. Already I could feel Jordan’s creepy vibe on me almost like a haze covering my body and my skin prickled. Silently I climbed to sit on Harry’s barstool, hoping to get away with distracting myself by my phone and to avoid any conversation with the unpleasant guy until my friends returned.

Jordan seemed to have other plans.

“You’re ignoring me now?” Jordan laughed mockingly, “Really? That’s ridiculous of you, doll.”

I tensed at the nickname and bit the inside of my cheek, then I turned off my phone and met Jordan’s eyes. You’re a prick, my head screamed at him and my hands clenched in need to smack his stupid grin off his face.

“How about we just wait in silent for Nick and Harry to come back?” I asked, my voice surprising me with a lot more confidence than I’d anticipated.

Jordan laughed once more, throwing his head back. “Well, I’m a rather vocal guy. You’d know if you’d quit playing hard to get and just give in to me.”

I visibly cringed and jerked back from the guy when he scooted closer, leaning into me so there were only few centimeters separating us. He picked up the abandoned beer bottle he’d been sipping on throughout the night and took two more gulps, allowing his eyes to stay fixated on me. Again he resembled so much a hawk who had found his prey of choice and was not going to stop before he got it.

“So,” He began, voice now sweet like honey, “You’re hooking up with him now, huh?”

I but my lip at the mention of Harry and shrugged his words off with a muttered “no”, raising my head to search for Nick and Harry in the crowd, hoping to see them on their way back. Unfortunately they hadn’t even reached the bartenders yet and when I looked back at Jordan, I could tell we were thinking the same thing. I’d be alone for a while with no one coming to save me.

“Looks like they’re going to be gone for quite a bit,” Jordan commented and he grinned at me, exposing his perfectly white teeth, “would be a shame if we just sat here moping, wouldn’t it?”

“I’m good,” I replied calmly, hoping he would let it go which of course he didn’t.

Jordan stepped closer, titled his head to the side and looked at me closely, similar to how a costumer checks the meat at the butcher’s when selecting what to have. My breath hitched when his fingers rested on my knee and he chuckled, moving them in a scratching motion and squeezing every now and again, making sure he prevented me from moving away. His tongue slipped out, wetting his lips and I pushed his hand away forcefully, only for him to grasp my wrist.

“C'mon,” he announced, pulling me from the stool and to my feet in a swift yank, “If Harry can teach you how to drink with a man, I’ll show you how to dance with one.”

Waiting for an answer or my consent seemed to be a waste of time to him and before I could react he’d pulled me off my stool and away from the bar. Soon we were surrounded by sweating and moving bodies, the music over here so loud I could feel the beat drum through my body. Jordan pulled me further and deeper into the crowd of humping people until he seemed satisfied with our location, far away from the counter to which Harry would return to soon. Jordan came to a swift halt and turned around to face me, releasing my wrist but encircling my waist so quickly I couldn’t move away. His arms tightened and he hummed, pulling me into his body so my chest was pressed against his. My hands settled onto his waist and I tried to push him off with as much strength as I could muster, yet I failed. His skin was hot and sweaty beneath my fingertips and I shuddered upon feeling his breath at my throat when he leaned in. His head pressed against mine and his fingers squeezed my hips.

“Jordan,” I urged into his ear, “let me go.”

Panic started to crawl through every vein of my body until I went rigid and my skin was littered with goosebumps. My throat was dry and all my brain screamed at me to do was to get out of the situation, to run away and hide from this gross man. Only how? His hold on me was too forceful and tight I had no chance of fighting him off. The only people who could help me were Harry and Nick and they had no idea where I was and would surely not be able to spot me in the sea of people either.
Ignoring my request, Jordan grabbed my hips tighter, his hold almost bruising and I gasped in shock when he began to move his own hips forward in a rough thrust, allowing our crotches to meet. I squealed and flinched back immediately, only to be pulled forward and held against Jordan’s body.

“C'mon, babe,” he laughed and repeated the movement of his hips, “Bet you’d let Harry have a go, huh? Why not me? S'it 'cause I’m not as rich as him? Or famous? Trust me babe, I can show you a better time, you’ll see.”

My stomach sunk and I shook my head. Unwanted tears shot to my eyes and spilled over when he moved both arms so he could rest his hands on my back, pushing me against his own body and moving me so I was forced to dance with him. He treated me like I was a doll and that sickened me more than anything.

“Let go,” I demanded, my voice now nothing more than a weak whimper, “You’re hurting me.”

To my great luck one of the girls dancing around us slipped in that moment and tumbled into Jordan, catching him off guard and knocking him right off of me. His arms loosened and I took my chance to push them away before fighting my way through the mass of people and away from him as fast as I my feet could carry me. I didn’t care how ridiculous I must have looked and didn’t stop until my eyes landed on the familiar and comforting sight of Harry and Nick standing at the bar where they’d expected me to wait for them. Neither of them saw me coming and when Harry looked up I had already thrown myself at him, embracing his shoulders tightly.

“Wow,” Harry laughed and Nick chuckled, but I didn’t react and only pushed my face closer into Harry’s warm neck in an attempt at shutting everything around me out.

My body was still trembling and I swallowed repeatedly to keep stop crying. Only now did it truly sink in how forceful Jordan’s hands had been as I felt his hold on my skin as if it was still there. The skin tingled and burned. Surprised by my sudden neediness Harry wrapped his arms around me loosely and leaned his head against mine, allowing his nose to run along my cheek. With him it didn’t feel threatening or harsh, quite the opposite. With simple touches and without intending it, Harry calmed my distraught emotions.

“What’s wrong?” Harry asked with a gentle hum, amusement clear in his tone.

I just shook my head and loosened my hold on him reluctantly, only enough to not be strangling him. Harry pulled me into his side and held me there, smiling down at me with warmth in his green orbs.

“Where were you anyway?” Nick chuckled in, “We go get drinks for you guys and you reward us by disappearing.”

“There she is!”

Jordan’s voice roared from my right and I whimpered quietly, scooting further into Harry’s arms and away from Jordan. My head turned into his direction and I caught him staring at me with piercing eyes.

“Back with your lover,” he spoke in a chuckle, shaking his head, “fucking perfect.”

My face burned and I clenched my hands into fists. “Go fuck yourself, Jordan.”

Nick’s eyes widened at my sudden outburst and raised voice and he stepped closer. I could feel Harry’s fingers curl against my bare back, yet he didn’t loosen his hold. Instead he turned his body so he was facing Jordan as well and when I looked up his jaw was set and his eyes narrow, yet not at me but at Jordan.

“You guys what is going on?” Nick demanded to know.

Jordan faced Harry’s hard stare. “Have fun with her, I’m done.”

“Excuse me?” Harry demanded perplexed, though I could hear a hint of anger and his body froze.

I let my hand drop and rest against Harry’s chest, earning his attention and shaking my head at him. “Leave it.”

Jordan sighed exasperatedly and rolled his eyes once more. “I need a drink. Let me know when you’re done gawking at each other.”

He stormed off before either of us had a chance to reply. Nick turned to me and Harry let go of his hold so he could look at me as well. Their expression said the same. What on earth had just happened?

“Bloody hell,” Nick blurted, “What was that all about?”

My cheeks still burned and I closed my eyes, brushing against the heated skin of my face as I tried to collect my thoughts and form a proper sentence, one that wouldn’t send Harry off and after Jordan.

“We danced,” I began timidly.

“Yeah, we figured that much,” Nick nodded, “And? What set him off? Your lack of sense for rhythm?”

“Nick,” Harry barked and the smile faded on Nick’s face, slowly realizing the seriousness of the situation.

“Well,” I cleared my throat, “I didn’t exactly want to dance. He sort of made me and I got really uncomfortable after he wouldn’t let go and once he did I came back here. That must have pissed him off.”

“He made you dance?” Harry inquired, his eyes hardened and he held his breath, “How?”

I looked at him hesitantly and bit my lip. There was no easy or harmless way of saying this so I stayed silent all together. Honestly, I felt bad. Though Jordan hadn’t been part of Harry’s friendship group for long, I knew he liked him and me having a problem with Jordan would complicate things.
Harry’s tongue slipped out, wetting his lips. Suddenly his attention fell down to where his hand had subconsciously taken ahold of my wrist. Something in his expression changed and my chest felt tight. Harry’s worried gaze met mine momentarily, then he raised my arm up so he could get a closer look of my skin. One glance sufficed.

Harry’s fingers interlocked with mine and he gave them a gentle squeeze, his eyes full of sudden sadness and set on my face, silently communicating that he was sorry. My eyes watered and I bit the inside of my cheek, my own fingers squeezing his hand reassuringly. It wasn’t Harry’s fault.

“I’m going to kill him,” Harry promised me, voice stern and his eyes wide, “I promise.”

“Wha-” Nick began but Harry interrupted him.

“Her wrist is red, Nick! That’ll bruise for sure! Where else did he touch you, Y/N? Does it hurt?”

“Maybe my hip,” I replied hesitantly, tightening my grip on his hand.

A small noise left Harry’s mouth and he responded by wrapping me into a hug.

“I’m so sorry,” he repeated quietly into my ear, his breath tickling my neck.

“And that was Jordan?” Nick asked form behind me, “I never knew he was such a prick.”

“I did,” I muttered into Harry’s chest, my words quiet but he heard.

Harry’s hands set on my ribs and he slowly pushed me off, careful to be tender. When my eyes met his I shuddered. He looked incredibly angry.

“Are you saying he’s done that before?” Harry growled.

“No,” I replied quickly, “But… he’d stare. Longer than he needed to and especially when I’m with you he wouldn’t stop. And whenever you guys would leave he’d make stupid innuendos.”

Harry shook his head, sighing and closing his eyes momentarily. “I should have noticed.”

A frown took over his face and he pouted, adapting his child-like look and I couldn’t fight the smile from crawling onto my face. I reached out one hand and squeezed his arm.

“Don’t be silly, Harry.”

Nick watched us observantly and nodded. “He’s right though. We should have payed more attention. And I was the one who brought him around for the first time, too. I’m sorry.”

“Wait 'till I get my fingers on him,” Harry promised, his eyes fierce as they locked with mine, “He has no right to so much as think of you in that way, let alone touch you. I won’t have it.”

His head shot up and his eyes searched for Jordan’s face. I shook my head and stepped closer to him, raising both hands to his cheeks so I could guide his head and force him to look at me.

“Harry, leave it, okay?” I spoke sternly, “Please. I’m fine, I swear.”

“Fine?” Harry barked, “Your skin is red! Because of him! Y/N if you think I will just stand by while some dick mistreats you then you’re wrong. I will-”

“No, you won’t,” I interrupted, “It doesn’t matter anymore. He’s gone. And in the future you’ll know not to leave me alone with him.”

“As if I’d let him near you again.” Harry rolled his eyes and shot Nick a warning look when he began to quietly laugh behind us.

“Jesus, Harry. Don’t go all caveman on us.”

I turned to look back at Nick and smiled at his big grinned expression. My hands moved down Harry’s arms and I let one of them linger and grasp Harry’s fingers. Nick noticed my action and his face lighted up.

“Let me deal with Jordan,” he proposed, looking at Harry, “And you take your girl home, yeah?”

Harry shifted his weight from foot to foot and raised a brow at his friend, then he sighed and let this thumb caress my wrist.

“You tell him to never come around us again,” Harry commanded sternly, but something in his tone had changed and I could sense that he was calmer now, “Or else I’ll fucking ruin him.”

“Want me to quote you on that?” Nick laughed but nodded, then he leaned in to kiss my cheek softly before making his way into the direction Jordan had taken earlier.

Harry looked after him with almost an envious expression and I clenched my fingers around him, trying to get his attention back.

“Please,” I quietly begged, “Just take me home.”

My eyes pleaded with his and Harry bit harshly into his pink bottom lip. He sighed and frowned at me, saying: “Are you sure that you don’t want me to go after him?”

“Yes,” I answered without a pause for a thought, “Please.”

“Alright.”

….

Harry’s hand felt good in my own, this I had to admit. He was warm, soft and knew without me having to say when I needed him to hold on tighter.
We’d slipped out of the club without saying goodbye to any of the people who’d recognized Harry and had hurried to catch a cab on the busy Londoner street, which lucky for us wasn’t difficult. On the backseat was where I’d allowed myself to drop any of the boundaries I normally lived by when I was in public with Harry and instead had crawled into him without hesitating first. And he’d welcomed it. Harry’s hands had settled onto my hips and he’d leaned in to cuddle his head into my neck while I’d led my face bury itself in his chest to breathe him in.

“I’m sorry,” Harry had whispered, “You’re the most important person to me. I should have sensed that something was wrong.”

I’d shaken my head against him. “I should have said something.”

Shortly after our messy car ride we were stood in front of my home, still holding on to each other’s fingers and without any sign of letting the other go. Harry’s head was held low and I noticed how he turned my hand around so he could look at it closely. A huff fell from his lips and I shook my head.

“Don’t freak out again, please?” I asked quietly, “It’ll be okay.”

I wasn’t as shaken up about the incident anymore, Harry’s comforting nature having its usual calming effect on me. There was no denying that I had been in danger tonight with Jordan’s endless game having reached its peak but it was over now and given Harry’s reaction to his friend’s lack of manners I was sure Jordan wouldn’t be a problem any longer. Maybe I should have gone to find the girl who’d saved me by stumbling just in time.
The feeling of Harry’s mouth meeting my cheek in a tender kiss brought me back to the present and I smiled widely, humming when he let his cheek rest against my own. His eyes were squeezed shut and his hands found my waist, pulling me into his body. I breathed in his familiar scent and relaxed against him, loving to finally have him to myself.

“We should tell them,” Harry began quietly.

“Do you really think that would have stopped Jordan?” I asked with raised brows, moving back so I could look at him properly, “He’s been suspecting that there was something going on between us for ages now anyway.”

My hands took hold of his shirt’s collar and I allowed my fingers to scratch his neck.

Harry rolled his eyes. “Fucking hell. The way he kept running his mouth tonight I already thought Nick was actually going to believe him. Wanted to punch him even before you told me about what he did.”

“Don’t you think he’d rub it into our faces even more if he knew he was right all along?”

“Hm,” Harry shrugged, leaning his body into mine, making me giggle, “So you think we should just continue to hide our relationship?”

His palm cradled my face and he leaned in to connect our lips in a quick and tender kiss catching me off guard in the best way possible. He didn’t allow his mouth to linger but pulled back and looked at me with pleading eyes.

“I want them to know, Y/N,” Harry begged quietly, “Hate worrying 'bout some bloke trying something the moment I turn around 'cause he thinks you’re still single.”

I shrugged in his hold and gently scratched his chin, “I’m all for telling our friends, my love.”

My lips met the corner of his lips and I smiled softly. “But don’t feel like you have to. It’s really only been Jordan who’d behaved like a dick to me. All your other friends are fine.”

“Well, good to know,” Harry chuckled, pressing a kiss to my jaw, “Seriously though I want people to be aware of you and me dating. Maybe not the media, but at least our friends.

"They’ll never shut their mouths about it,” I predicted, wrapping both arms around Harry’s neck.

He shook his head and let his arms sneak around me and I laughed softly when he began to sway us slowly. He was so beautiful, I thought. How could Jordan ever think he’d stand a chance compared to the amazing and wonderful man in my arms?
Harry kissed my shoulder, chuckling when I squealed under the tickling feeling of his hair against my skin.

“We’re just two friends,” he began quietly, “who fell in love with each other.”

I nodded and sighed. “They’ll understand.”

Hope you enjoyed it!

Great. Another day to endure, sitting in front of Mr.Kim. You weren’t sure you could endure any longer. Like really, just looking him made you feel some type of way. His blonde hair always framed his face perfectly and when he styled it so that his eyebrows showed, there was nothing but heat. Everyone knew that he was attractive yes, but you barely said anything about it. Today was the day though. When you came in, you saw him at the board, wearing all black. Dammit, he must’ve done this on purpose. Your eyes trailed all over him, your thoughts filled with how good he looked. How sexy he looked.
