The Man You Hate

Requests:  Plz do a part two of the men you loved where savitar re lives her and she gets revenge on the flash and in the end she stays with savitar - @thejulietfarciertlove

Read The Man You Loved, it was fantastic! Pls part 2! Maybe where Barry has guilt throughout the next few months and maybe the reader’s sister finds out and lashes out at Barry. Maybe Iris dies in the end too so Barry has no one now. Maybe meets Earth 2 Reader happily married to Earth 2 Barry. (He and Iris divorced or something)

part 2 of the man you loved?

I liked the last imagine but what if Barry never really gets a choice to save the two girls. It’s actually the future reader (ally/lover of Savitar) who kills iris bc she knows barry wouldn’t have chosen her. Savitar makes Barry feel regretful because of it.

Could you please make a part two to the one shot the man you loved Maybe some things that happened after he got the reader killed and feels really guilty about it and maybe involve the others too thx - @shirleyleylove

The Man U loved part 2 please💜💜💜

Warnings: Angst, violence, cursing, mourning, Barry feeling sorry for himself, Barry feeling guilty, suicide, cursing

A/N: Holy crap guys! You loved part one and in one night my ask box was filled with requests for a part 2! So, by popular demand, here is part two. I did change it so it doesn’t fit all of the requests.

I was inspired by a tweet by @thenerddess on Twitter about this moment. She mentioned Felicity listening to Oliver’s heart. I probably thought about this more than I should have and gave myself way too many feels.

They were helpless down there. Oliver is bleeding out. Felicity can’t walk. They’re running out of oxygen. The space is filling with gas. There’s no way in or out that they can find, especially not with both of them impaired. Felicity has to expect the team will be trying to reach them, but at this point? She’s not sure if they’ll make it in time.

I think Felicity was expecting Oliver to die here. And there wasn’t anything she could do but sit with him, rest her head on his chest and listen and feel for his heart, anticipating it slowing and stopping. She knows if he dies, she’ll follow. Maybe not right away, maybe not until the air runs out or the gas takes over, but she will.

And frankly, I think she feels that if Oliver is going to die here, that she’d just as soon die too. Right next to him. A tragic, iconic, star-crossed love story for the ages.

How sad and beautiful and heartbreaking and reaffirming is that though? Because they lived. They made it out. But now they know that neither of them wants to do it without the other.

What’s a little life or death to heal hearts, right?

Calling all theorists! Gather around the table as we do one collective theory on this scene that is coming up in 7x19 and it’s possible placement. I’ve done the liberty of providing Vodka soda and butterscotch to get us in the mood because this right here folks makes NO SENSE.

First and the biggest WTF is Alison writing Mrs. Rollins. There is no reason on God’s green earth why she would refer herself as Rollins. Some say that maybe because of the investigation, she wrote it to seem less guilty. If I were a detective, that would make Alison seem EVEN MORE guilty. She made her dislike for Archer clear, why claim him and his fake name again?

Secondly, after what we saw in 7x18, to see Aria with the group again is head-scratching because after her exposure, they banned her from their lives it seems like. Is MK & Co. going to show the liars mad at Aria for a day and then embrace her again right after? She also says “He is coming for you” and Alison turns around in fear. She clearly knows who “he” is but who is he?? We’ve been thinking it was Marco with all the work he’s been doing but in 7x18, Marco left and Tanner is back. What man are the girls afraid of because I can’t think of anyone. Unless it’s Peter’s golden schlong searching for another victim…

the end of episode 105

keyleth. she has been dreading the idea of outliving the rest of her family for ages. This has been a fear she has expressed numerous times and something she is known to struggle with. Vax having an impending expiration date only makes that fear worse. and she’s angry. she is forced to confront her biggest fear before she’s ready.

then she walks into a house where a man has outlived his family and he’s absolutely miserable. sprigg was telling scanlan it was his future, but keyleth was seeing her own, and she hated it. she realized it was coming sooner than she ever thought possible. so she takes it out in battle and rages. and afterwards she sobs into Vax’s arms and is angered when someone else celebrates marriage, something she will not have with the man she loves.

vax. he cannot do anything to ease the pain keyleth is experiencing both because he is the source of it and because it’s beyond his control. all he can do is hold her. and when he hears of his sister’s marriage, maybe he would be happy, but right then the love of his life is shattering in his arms.

I’m sitting watching all this happen, simultaneously overjoyed for perc'ahlia and breaking down for vaxleth and I go on tumblr to see what people are saying about this stunning display of emotion and passion and nearly all of it is shitting on vax and keyleth. “why can’t they be happy for them? why do they have to ruin it?” like, guys. I’m sure vax and keyleth are thrilled about percy and vex, and they’ll get to feeling happy for them but they’re kinda dealing with some shit right now. this show, these actors, show us the complexities of dealing with several conflicting emotions all at once and they do it beautifully. marisha playing keyleth the way she did broke my heart and I was in awe of it

I wanted to cry and celebrate with the people who were live-blogging but all I got was negativity… it’s barely been a day for keyleth to recover and I thought marisha’s roleplaying was stunning. I don’t know, I think I’ve made my point. I can see how maybe it was a downer but I had my moment of excitement for perc’ahlia last week, and I would rather see the honest reactions from kiki and vax than manipulate the story to only see the happy endings…

Characters: Kyungsoo

Word Count: 1.7k

She had the same routine every Sunday. She would wake up at 9 a.m, make a small breakfast for herself, watch a few of the Sunday morning TV shows, and then she would get ready to go visit Kyungsoo.  She spent every Sunday for the past eight months doing this.

Kyungsoo had been arrested eight months prior. He and a few of his friends were caught up in a drug deal that had gone bad, and the police busted them. They all escaped, all except for Kyungsoo. After he was arrested, it took one month for them to sentence him to five years in prison. In the past eight months, he hasn’t spoken a word to her. He barely even looked at her, he just sat in the metal chair across from her and listened to her speak. He also couldn’t handle physical contact at all. Albeit before being arrested, he wasn’t a fan of skinship that much, but now even holding his hand wasn’t something that could be done.

She couldn’t begin to understand the mental war that was going on in Kyungsoo’s head. The people whom he thought were his best friends left him behind and let him take the blame for their doings. Kyungsoo was too sweet of a person to turn his friends in, so he took the fall. The only reason Kyungsoo was involved was because his family needed the money, he wouldn’t have ever messed around with things like drugs if it were not for his family.

When she entered the room where they met, she gasped at the bruises that lined Kyungsoo’s arms. Many bruises had shown up on him before, but every new one made her afraid for him. She knew prison was rough, and she knew that the other prisoners did hurt him on multiple occasions but what could she do? The prison warden wouldn’t do anything to fix it, it was as if he didn’t care what happened to his prisoners.

“Does it hurt?” She asked as she sat down across from Kyungsoo who once again had his head down and focused on his lap. It would be an understatement to say that him not speaking or even looking at her hurt her. Every failed attempt at communication chipped away at her heart, but despite that, she still came every Sunday. She could never handle not being able to see him so she would always come, even if he wouldn’t have any form of contact with her.

“Do you remember the night you asked me to be your girlfriend? When we were 17?” Kyungsoo still didn’t lift his head or show that he was listening, but she continued,”I do. I remember your mom saying you spent hours cooking the ‘perfect meal’ for me, and for a good half of the dinner you couldn’t look me in the eyes because you were so nervous.” She chuckled at the memory from when they were teenagers. He was such a shy boy in high school, she is still surprised that he managed to ask her out.

“I also remember two weeks later you said I should break up with you because I deserved to be with someone that complimented me better.” She and Kyungsoo had met in the library to study for their finals, and he randomly blurted out how she deserved to be with someone better than he and that he didn’t compliment her like a boyfriend should. It took her fifteen minutes to get him to stop arguing with her about what she did and didn’t deserve. “I remember telling you that I deserved someone who made my heart feel at peace and that someone was you. I deserved someone who would keep me grounded when I was losing touch with reality and someone who would float off into space with me when I became too serious about something. I deserved someone who could bring out the best of me and vice versa. I deserved someone who I could mean just as much to them as they did to me. I deserved someone who would make me feel like they had built the entire universe in their backyard, just for me. I deserved you, no one else. I didn’t and I still don’t want anyone else.

You were there for everything, no matter good or bad. I’ve had some of the best moments of my life with you. You have no idea how much I love you, Kyungsoo.”

She could tell that his facial expression faltered, he seemed to be thinking hard about something. This was the first change in his expression that she had seen since coming here, so she once again continued, “What I’m getting at Kyungsoo is, I’m dedicated to you. I can’t imagine spending my life with anyone other than you, and I don’t plan on it. I will be here every Sunday until you’re released, and in five years and two months when you’re released, I will be standing there waiting for you. Nothing about this changes my feelings for you. I am still as hopelessly in love with you as I was before. I don’t know why you won’t speak to me or look at me, but I don’t care. As long as I get to see you I’m fine. I will keep coming here until you’re ready to speak to me.”

For the first time in eight months, Kyungsoo finally spoke.

“Do you think I’m evil?” He kept his head down, but the fact that he spoke was a breakthrough.

“Are you serious?” She scoffed, unbeknownst to her he thought his worst fear was coming to life, “Kyungsoo, you are the farthest thing from evil. Do you know why you’re in here? You’re in here because you would do anything it takes to help and save your family. You’re also here because you didn’t turn your friends in when the police asked. You’re a noble man, if anything you’re a little too noble. You are so considerate of others, you neglect yourself in the process.”

Once again, for the first time in eight months, Kyungsoo finally looked at her. He raised his eyes to meet hers, an unreadable expression on his face. He had thought that she saw him as evil and that she wouldn’t want someone as evil as he is. Yet, she said he wasn’t evil. She said he was… Noble.

“I’m afraid that I will become evil after staying in here… The things that happen in here, the things I see and the people I meet are living nightmares. I don’t know if I can come out of here in six years and still be the same. I-I-I’m,” He faltered, “I’m scared.”

“Kyungsoo,” She whispered. He wasn’t normally one to show such vulnerability like that. He had such a petrified look on his face, it made her scared herself. He was so scared about prison changing him, it was heart-wrenching. “No matter what happens, I will always be right beside you. You’re a strong person and you have a true heart, you won’t get swept away so easily by the atrocities that are in this place. Yes, you may be impacted slightly because of it, but even so, I will never leave you. I promise you that.”

She stood up from her seat and went around the table to him. She pulled him to a standing position and wrapped her arms firmly around his shoulders. He buried his face in the crook of her neck and snaked his arms around her waist. “I don’t know what I would do without you,” He admitted.

She ran her fingers through his hair, letting her fingernails gently brush across his scalp. “I should be saying that instead,” She then kissed the top of his head, “Even at the unstable place your life is in right now, you can count on me to be the one stable thing through it all.”

She cradled his head in her arms, he murmured her name and how much he loved her. She didn’t know if it was the lack of contact for eight months or if his mental state just so happened to fall to a low point, but no matter what the reason was behind his actions, she was just happy to have him back again.

“Will you still love me when I get out even if I have bruises and scars like this?”

She lifted his arms up and peppered kisses along the bruises, “You’re still the most handsome man in the world to me, no matter what changes about your looks.” She even kissed a faint scar on his neck that he had gotten within the first two months of being there.

“You make my soul feel so… Complete.” He couldn’t think of what he did to deserve such an amazing girlfriend in his life. She was going to be what kept him going through this whole experience. But what of the future? His mind wandered back to thinking about what he will witness between now and his release, doubt began seeping back into his mind. Would he really be able to stay sane in a place like this? It’s only been eight months and he already felt as if he was losing it.

“Soo, stop thinking so hard, please.”

“But what if-”

“You are not and will never be evil, my sweet little prince. I love you.”

His nickname made the tips of his ears redden. She hadn’t called him that since before he was sentenced, but hearing it once more settled the fire he could feel in his heart. It gave him a sense of hope, and it made him doubt the thoughts he was having only moments before. If she believed in him, then he should believe in himself as well. “Say it again, please.”

“My sweet prince,” She grabbed each side of his head with her hands, “You,” She kissed this forehead, “Are,” Then his nose, “Not,” And finally his lips, “Evil.”

“And I never will be.”

Luna Would’ve Been a Great Leader of the Second Dawn Bunker

Okay, so today is when the 100 writers are posting the script for episode 10. Which, as we all know, was the conclave. So picture this: AU in which Luna basically takes Octavia’s place in this episode, makes the decision to share the bunker (which would’ve actually been in character for her), and shows mercy to Octavia so she survives but isn’t the leader.

-“But with your clan gone, who will you fight for?”

“I fight for everyone. I fight for life. When I win, everyone will be saved.”

-Luna, after finding Octavia at the end of the conclave: “There are people worth saving. You aren’t one now, but I believe people can change.” Then she’d go on to help Octavia with her anger management issues, that whole “I know the darkness” thing. I feel like she’d be good at this, we already saw how she helped Raven.

-(Just going to point out that Octavia has kind of turned into a ruthless killer this season, and it seems unlikely to me that she would stop in one episode. Wait, actually, she doesn’t really stop, just kills the right people— those who will benefit her most. Seems to be in keeping with her previous actions, now that I think about it. Just not really the redemption arc it’s made out to be.)

-OKAY SO LUNA WOULD BE A GREAT LEADER OF THE BUNKER AND NOBODY CAN TELL ME OTHERWISE. She ran her own isolated society for years. She’d know all about rationing and keeping the peace, and is one of only two people on the show who have actually led a group of people living in close quarters for so long.  (The other being Jaha, but for fairly obvious reasons she would be the better choice to lead the second dawn bunker.) She might be a little out of her element being underground, but would anyone else not be? It’s not like any of the others had experienced it, they had all grown up on the ground or in space.

-I know that they were going for “the girl under the floor” stuff, but honestly, the “floukru queen” turned “wonkru queen” does it for me

-It takes a while for her to trust Skaikru again, but it happens eventually. Then when Raven comes back with the others, they’re reunited because sea mechanic needs to happen please and thank you

-It’s in character for her to be peaceful, calm people down, fiercely uphold her ideals, and balance out all of the warriors among them with her different point of view. But people would also know not to push her around or challenge her authority, because of her extreme skills in combat.

-Also, because of her nightblood status (and by having won the conclave) she would be held in higher regard by the grounders, as a person who actually knew and understood their religion. Also, being a nightblood would make it unlikely, or even impossible, for her to die from radiation poisoning should there be any risk of that. It’s important to have a leader you can count on, and I’d say that not dying is a part of that.

TLDR: Luna would have been an amazing leader and great asset to the show and to grounders and skaikru alike, and I’m pretty upset with the 100 writers for butchering her character and killing her off in the space of one episode. (Even if I still love the show.)

You felt soft sunlight on your eyelids, filtered through cheap motel curtains. The smell of freshly made instant coffee—bitter but welcome nevertheless—roused you from sleep, though it was still not enough to mask the scent of the cigarette smoke that permeated the very walls of the place. But you didn’t mind. As far as mornings in motel rooms went, this was pretty close to perfect. Especially when said coffee was being brought to you by a half-naked man in grey sweats that left little to the imagination.

He set the coffee down on the stained nightstand, running one hand through still-damp green hair. You smiled sleepily up at him.

“Mmm, good morning,” you said.

“Morning,” he grinned back.

You sat up and stretched, sighing appreciatively as your joints popped. “What time is it?”

“Just after nine. We got plenty of time.”

Day 11

A show that disappointed you.

I’m really disappointed in Supergirl right now.  I was watching Season 1 last night with my wife and it was just so much better.

I’ll let Cat Grant explain how I’m feeling.

Citizens of National City, this is Cat Grant, live from Catco Plaza. As you all know, I have been Supergirl’s most outspoken champion. So, you can imagine how difficult it is for me to tell you that I and Catco can no longer stand behind Supergirl. I made you trust her. I gave you my word that she was safe, a friend. I was wrong. Supergirl has changed. She is unstable and extremely dangerous. She threw me off of a building last night and threatened my life and… Who knows what else she is capable of? It’s not easy being let down by our idols. Having someone who embodies our heroic ideals helps us believe that we can be heroes, too. Sometimes heroes fall. So, please, for your own safety, stay away from Supergirl. Okay, that’s enough. Turn it off. Play it on a loop. Everyone needs to know.

Until the End (Pippa X Reader)

Words: 1782

Summary: You get some difficult news and live your final days

Warnings: Potentially horrible writing, ANGST

“I’m very sorry,” the doctor said as he stood in front of you with a solemn face. You felt your stomach drop. You looked around the room, trying to find something to concentrate on as your world seemed to fall apart. Your gaze landed on the clock on the wall.

“I need to get to work,” You said quietly, seeming to stumble over your words. He nodded and set up your next appointment before you made your way to the Richard Rodgers Theater.

Your eyes were glued to the ground as you walked down the streets of New York. You had always wanted to do something meaningful with your life. Yes, you got your roles on Broadway. You got your role in Hamilton. You met the love of your life. But, that’s just it. There was still so much to do. So many things to do. And, you seemed to be running out of time.

God, there was so much. So many roles. So many things you could do. So many things you wanted to do. Your stomach fell more and more as fear crept upon you. You’d be playing your last show as Angelica soon. You’d be saying goodbye to so many so soon. You’d never be able to play another role. You’d never be able to have kids. Hell, you’d never be able to get married. Oh god. What would Pippa say?

Your gaze set upon the sign for the theater and your heart broke. You walked to the entrance and made your way backstage.

“Hey (Y/N)!” Daveed said as he and Oak walked by. You smiled in response, afraid of what would happen if you tried to speak. You greeted the rest of the company, trying to be as cheerful as you could. You made your way down to the dressing room you shared with Pippa and Jasmine.

As you stepped inside, you recognized the voice of Renee accompanying theirs.

“Hey (Y/N)!” Jasmine greeted from the couch where her and Renee sat. Pippa got up and trapped you in an embrace.

“Hey guys,” You said with a weak smile, about to start crying in your girlfriend’s arms. Pippa’s eyebrows furrowed as she looked at you with her eyes almost asking you “what’s wrong?” You gave her a small nod as if to say that you’d explain later. You gave Renee and Jasmine.

“So, Renee, what brings you back?” You said trying to distract yourself.

“Oh no reason in particular. Alexis agreed to take the kids out tonight so that I could watch my favorite sisters perform.”

Their conversation continue as your heart panged. It wouldn’t be much more time until you couldn’t perform along their sides. You looked around the dressing room, almost trying to memorize how it looked. Pippa sat down next to you and placed her hand on your knee, similar to how the doctor had done not too long prior. You turned to her and buried your head into her shoulder.

“Hey, what’s going on?” She whispered in your ear. You nodded just as you had done earlier. The thought of telling her tore your heart to shreds. How would you tell her? How could you? “Hey guys,” she said addressing the two other girls, “can we borrow the room for a moment?”

“Of course, we’ll be right outside if you need us.” Jasmine gave the two of you a small smile as they stepped out.

“Okay, what’s wrong, love? You’ve been off since you stepped in,” She said with her eyes full of concern. You looked down to the ground as you tried to find the words to tell her. She lifted your head ever so slightly to look you in the eyes.

“I-” You paused. “I went to the doctor’s this morning,” You said quietly.

“What happened (Y/N)? Are you okay?” She asked, her words laced with worry.

“Pip,” You paused, knowing that the next words would make everything so real. You looked back down not wanting to see her face. “I have cancer.”

The words seemed surreal leaving your mouth. You felt her arms wrap around you as you thought of just unreal it was. The tears came flowing down your face. Once they started, you couldn’t seem to get it to stop. She rubbed your back lovingly as you felt her own tears fall.

“Shh, I’ve got you. I’ve got you.” She whispered, her voice seeming more and more weak with every second that passed.

You sat there like that for what seemed like hours (despite only being a few minutes). She finally sat back and looked you with overwhelming sadness. You took a deep breath knowing that the next words to come would be even worse.

“One year.” Her face dropped even more despite not seeming possible.

“What?” She said breathless.

“The doctor’s estimate was one year. It might be longer, but-” You were interrupted by her arms wrapping you in a hug. She seemed even more hysterical than you both were moments earlier.

“We’ll get through this, love, I promise.” She said as she calmed down. “Do you want me to ask Lin if your alternate could perform tonight?”

“No, I- I need to do this.” She nodded in understanding as she took your hand in hers. “Let’s go see everyone,” You said with a small smile pulling her up with you.

The two of you walked outside hand in hand. The rest of the company sat outside talking.

“Hey love birds!” Anthony said jokingly until the two of you came closer when everyone noticed your red eyes and tear stained cheeks. “Are you two okay?” He asked with concern, his goofy expression turning serious in an instant.

“I actually need to tell you guys something.” You said quietly as you took a seat, suddenly feeling exhausted. Pippa rested her arm around you, kissing the top of your head. The cast turned to you with concern. “You know,” You paused, “you guys are family to me.”

“And you’re family to us (Y/N).” Chris said.

“I’m going to be, um, I’m going to stop performing soon.” Lin frowned.

“We’ll miss you a lot (Y/N). Did you land another role?”

“Better than Angelica?” Daveed continued with a smirk.

“Oh please, Diggs, what is there that’s ‘better than Angelica’?” Renee asked with a laugh causing the rest of the company to join in laughter.

“Actually, no.” You frowned. “I found out this morning that,” Your words seemed to get stuck in your throat. You put your head in the crook of Pippa’s neck trying not to burst into tears for the second time that day. Thankfully, she understood the trouble you were having.

“She has cancer,” She said in a small voice. You looked up at the cast as you composed yourself. The faces of every person in the room dropped. Jasmine almost immediately began to sob in Anthony’s shirt. Lin’s mouth dropped open. Leslie looked down as if he were about to start crying as well. Oak was the first to get up and hug you tight. The rest followed suit and joined in the hug.

That was the hardest show any of you had performed. Pippa’s scream after Stay Alive (Reprise) was especially awful. You nearly broke down as you sung It’s Quiet Uptown. Pippa and Lin could hardly stop crying as you sang. The cast rotated in and out of your dressing room as you came on and off stage.

That night, you and Pippa sat on your couch in silence. You laid in her arms as she mindlessly played with your hair. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

During your last show, you struggled. Hell, the entire cast did. You were so exhausted from treatment that someone continuously held you up, trying to seem natural. Lin stood in front of the crowd at the end of the show in his full Alexander Hamilton get up.

“As most of you know, this is (Y/N) (Y/L/N)’s last show.” He called for Pippa and you to come up to center stage. You stood there in confusion. She turned to you.

“My love,” She started. “When we first met, I instantly fell in love with you. You made me feel so… so… “

“Helpless?” She laughed lightly.

“What I’m trying to say is that I know that we don’t have our entire lives ahead of us. But, I want you to know that I’ll be right here next to you. Always. Every moment until the last.” She got down on a knee.

“(Y/N) (Y/L/N), will you marry me?” Your hands flew to your mouth in shock. You shook your head and wrapped her in a hug.

And, she did. After you left the show officially, Pippa took a break from Hamilton. She was always by your side. The cast rotated in and out of your shared apartment and later, your hospital room.

Most of the cast stood in your small room.

“I’m going to get some food,” Daveed said as most of them agreed.

“Pip, go with them. You still need to eat.” You told her. She nodded reluctantly and followed them out. You were left with Anthony and Jasmine. “Guys.” Jasmine put her hand on yours. “It’s time.”

“No, no. (Y/N),” Anthony started.

“Can you please take Pippa home with you two?”

“What? You shouldn’t-”

“Please, Ant, I can’t have her here. She hasn’t slept in weeks-”

“(Y/N), you shouldn’t be alone when you go,” Jasmine continued.

“Guys, please.”

The cast said their goodbyes an hour later. You hugged Lin extra tight.

“Thank you for everything.”

Jasmine and Anthony, especially, had tears running down their faces.

“I love you, Pip.”

The couple nearly had to drag her from the hospital. You looked down at your ring with a small smile reminiscing on the times you had with her. You looked at the flowers that flooded your room, knowing exactly who gave you what. Lin sent almost half of them. You looked at the giant teddy bear by your window that Chris brought with him during your first month of being there. It had his extra George Washington hat on it. Tears pricked the corners of your eyes as you smiled at everything Alexander Hamilton’s story had brought you to. You reached for your phone and clicked to the group chat.

I love you all. x

You started to text them before sleeping during your final months. They didn’t know that this would be the last they’d receive.

My love, take your time.

I’ll see you on the other side.

Can’t Help Falling In Love With You

@whotheeffisbucky asked:

HEY- IT’S YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBOURHOOD WINE MOM. Anyway. I’d really like to request a drabble with my darling Sebastian and him and the reader just slow dancing for no reason in the kitchen or something when this song comes on the radio. Just super cute and super fluffy. You are the bestest.

A/N: A cute little request from last year. I honestly think this was the very first piece of writing I did on here too.

pixel-is-perfect  asked:

How do you keep all of A:tLA's flaws from ruining the show for you? I can't rewatch without getting so irritated over Aang's character arc. I mean what was the point of learning all three elements when all Aang needed was a "pure heart" to unlock energy bending? What happened to taking wisdom from the four nations?

Long ago, a sage named Araeph once said something very wise about how to appreciate A:TLA as a critic.

The way I see it, canon shippers and stans tend to love their show the way Katara loves Aαng: unconditionally, believing in it with all their heart, and doing their best to gloss over its flaws, even when those flaws are right in front of them.

Katara: Aαng is the bravest person I know! He has done nothing but help people and save lives since I met him. It’s not his fault he disappeared, right Aαng? Aαng? What’s wrong?

( Aαng has been backing up while Katara has been telling off the old man. When she is finished, he flees, opening his glider and taking off towards the mountains.)

But antis love their show the way Iroh loves Zuko:

Iroh: No. Someone new must take the throne. An idealist with a pure heart and unquestionable honour. It has to be you, Prince Zuko.
Zuko: Unquestionable honour? But I’ve made so many mistakes.
Iroh: Yes, you have. You struggled, you suffered but you have always followed your own path, you restored your own honour. And only you can restore the honour of the Fire Nation.

All you have to do is love A:TLA the way Iroh loves Zuko.

If you need advice as to how, consider this: A one-sentence blurb of A:TLA will read that a young boy who can manipulate the elements goes on a quest to defeat the Firelord and restore balance. And a one-sentence blurb will be completely wrong. If that had been the plot, it would have been a perfectly serviceable kids’ program that would have come and gone, and been faintly remembered with a bit of fondness. On an average kids’ show, if you wanted kids to “learn a lesson” about how “killing is wrong” and you should “always stand up for what you believe”, the A:TLA finale is the way you would go about it.  Aαng’s character arc falling short doesn’t mean that it doesn’t work; it just doesn’t work on the same level as the rest of the show.

As Tolkien said, “The tale grew in the telling”; the story outgrew him as a protagonist. But A:TLA still has a pure heart and unquestionable honor.

If Aαng doesn’t incorporate the philosophies of other nations into his own, does someone who is a main character do that? If Aαng wins his final fight via an instant power up, is there someone who is a main character who doesn’t? If Aαng’s flaws are glossed over, is there someone who is a main character whose flaws are held up to the light of day?

Then A:TLA still contains those themes that we were rooting for. And the fact that it overreached the grasp of its initial hero means it stretched itself far beyond its initial goal as a story.

Avatar: The Last Airbender became a whole world of people, ideas, cultures, and stories, in a way no one expected from a Nick cartoon. And in the end, Ozai was defeated and balance was restored to the world–but not by Aαng, or at least not by Aαng alone. Because it was the idea of Ozai, the harmful doctrines he promulgated, the abuses he condoned and participated in, the so-called superiority of his element, and his iron grip on the Fire Nation, that was vanquished … by Team Avatar and by Iroh. Which, even if it frays around the edges, becomes still a better story, in the long run.

Match Made Part 4

Part 2:

Part 3:

                                                      [Zack’s POV]

“Another date huh?” 9 dates in 3 weeks, Alison and Bethany were really hitting it off, and none of us had even seen what she looked like, never mind met her. Kaitlyn was sitting at the kitchen counter, she stopped biting her pen to speak up.

“Between her dates with Bethany and the totally weird amount of time Alison spends with Becca, I just feel like we never see her!”

“Yeah, I know, tell me about!”

Kaitlyn and I were getting very worked up about this, probably more so than what was necessary. Kaitlyn’s expression drew a blank and she stood up. “Oh god!”

I look behind me thinking she meant she was behind me but quickly realized she wasn’t, but this seems to prompt Kaitlyn into continuing. “ You don’t think she’s trying to take over my best friend role, do you?” I couldn’t help grin at the panicked girl.

“Oh Kaitlyn, you mean MY best friend role.” I hear footsteps behind me, I turn to look, it is actually Becca this time.

Kaitlyn notices this too. “We’ll get back to that later, but this Bethany situation, what do we do?”

I think for a moment while Becca walks over to the coffee machine and starts a new pot of coffee. Then I’m hit with a bolt of inspiration. “We should go to their date and get a look at her!”

Kaitlyn smiles at me mischievously and I know she agrees.

Kaitlyn and I are both stunned at Becca’s sudden outburst, and we look at each other questionably before returning back to Becca and her equally stunned expression. She seems to sense our need for an explanation. “Because…” Becca doesn’t often look so unsure of herself, so I notice when she is, and I can’t help but think she knows something we don’t. “Because, obviously that would be a serious breach of privacy……… and you all think I’m morally bankrupt” She triumphantly puts her hands on her hips as she so often does.

I turn to look at Kaitlyn, and she deflates. “Oh, heck she’s right.”

She said it but I’m also thinking it. “We won’t go and spy then.” I watched as Becca returns to the coffee machine, pours herself a mug, I noticed Kaitlyn’s gaze was also fixed on her, and we both watched as she left the room before looking over at each other again.

“we’re going, right?” Kaitlyn questions, with a glint in her eye.

“Yeah we are!” we are bad people.

KaraMel Fanfic #26 Part 3

Title: Reconciliation

Prompt: When an imp named Mr. Mxyzptlk shows up in National City on Valentine’s Day and declares his love for Kara, she and Mon-El have to deal with him on top of their feelings for each other.

Warning: Contains spoilers up to Supergirl 2x11

Also posted on AO3.

Note: Yay! I finally managed to finish this (at 10 past midnight with school tomorrow) and I couldn’t be prouder! It’s a bit long (≈4200 words) but I hope you like it. I surely enjoyed writing!

The glass Kara was holding broke in her hand, the pieces scattering around the couch as the club soda in it spilled all over her clothes. Sighing with frustration, she clenched her fist, not even bothering to stand up.

When she first returned to her apartment, she was seething with anger. She couldn’t believe how overprotective Mon-El had gotten over her, how his jealousy got in the way of her standing up for herself. She felt like she was incapable of protecting herself against a dwarf. That was when she broke her first glass, squeezing it a little bit too tightly as she started to pour club soda in it.

It took her a couple of minutes—yes, not hours, minutes—to realize how ridiculous she’d been. Mon-El has just been trying to protect her, standing up for her against that impish creature that Kara still couldn’t spell the name of. It wasn’t because he thought Kara couldn’t protect herself, or she was weak; it was because he didn’t want her to get hurt.

And maybe, maybe he was right. She really didn’t know anything about Mxyzptlk. He seemed harmless enough, yes, but the more Kara thought about him, the more she felt bothered by… By the mischievous light she saw in his eyes. It was as if he didn’t have a care about the world as long as he got what he wanted.

4x04 Personal Highlights

So I know that there has been a lot of negativity surrounding this past episode, but I would like to point out that it was far from being all bad and I would say it was a hell of a lot better than episode four from LAST season (aka. my least favourite episode of this show, ever) there was actually some good shit buried in this episode that I would like to address.

Never too much positivity, right fam?

Okay, I’ll get to it.

1. “Bellamy should be back by now.”

I mean, it’s self-explanatory. Even the C/exa queen is writing us some Bellarke shit .. hmm, I wonder why? Maybe cause she has to? Maybe cause Bellarke is becoming canon? Huh, weird.

2. Monty being a total babe and trying to comfort Clarke

It only serves to make the absence of his name on The List that much more painful, but I love seeing Monty trying to cheer Clarke up. He’s such a beacon of light. @the-ships-to-rule-them-all and @abazethe100 talked on their podcast about how its not just Monty’s brain and skills that make him invaluable, but who he is at his core - a source of optimism and support. He holds people together. I thought it was worth mentioning because @theskyboxpodcast is always good, but I especially loved that bit.

3. Devon’s acting

The writers truly could not have picked a better actor to play Jasper. He kills it, over and over and over again. Devon is the perfect mix of humour and tragedy that makes Jasper so heartbreaking and unique. He brings life to this character in a way that few actors could. That scene in the rain perfectly demonstrates this.

(UNRELATED: I’d love to see how Jaha was managing out on that lake when he heard about the acid fog. The possibilities are never-endingly humourous.)

4. Kane calling out Octavia

This scene was soooo validating because its the first time that Octavia’s actions have TRULY been called out. And it wasn’t just a brief call-out, it was an entire lengthy scene dedicated to why Octavia’s actions are NOT being supported by the narrative and are NOT right or honourable.

“A warrior knows when not to kill. Lincoln taught you that. You seem to have forgotten.”

And to those of you who were screaming about Octavia never dealing with the consequences of her actions after … what? 4x02? YOU COULDN’T WAIT TWO EPISODES??? WHY DO YOU JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS WHY DO YOU TORTURE YOURSELVES? Short rant concluded. This was a top-knotch scene.

She is so gorgeous and her voice is so soothing. She makes every episode better just be existing.

7. Jackson being a total babe and helping out Raven this episode/showing compassion and concern

So I’ve seen people shipping it and I am … oddly, not opposed??? I mean, he’s sweet and that banter was nice and he’s a doctor which means he’s probs smart and also can help her out with her pain (kinda) and it will never happen but I CAN DREAM OKAY?

Also, Jackson is Jackson’s only name. I’m sorry, I don’t make the rules. You will never hear me referring to Jackson by any other name. #dealwithit

8. “Save us all” sounds like “keep us all clean” in Trigadesleng because apparently Grounders know their priorities

I guess this explains why L.exa had that deep conditioned shit last season while Clarke was progressing through her slow but steady evolution into a dirty mop

9. “I’ve never met a line I wouldn’t cross.”

Richard you get the best lines. And you slay them every time.

I’M SO EXCITED. Lindsey and Richard are both a thrill to watch and they’re both so sassy and their history is just … WOW. They haven’t had many scenes together ever since that KILLER scene in the dropship where we learned Murphy’s backstory which is a total crime because THEIR CHEMISTRY SERIOUSLY FLIES THROUGH THE ROOF.

I do think Murphy was trying to get on Raven’s good side when he grabbed her and helped her to safety and it was definitely for his personal motives, but I do also believe that a large part of him wanted to do it as an attempt to make up for fucking up her life so bad as well. It’s such an interesting dynamic to watch.

Just want to clarify that I don’t ship it because … y’all he literally shot her and paralyzed her why do you do this?? But I definitely want to see more of them on my TV screen

11. Dad!Kane cupping his son’s face

Need I say more?

12. “Warriors don’t reveal their secrets.”

13. Ice Nation is SO much more interesting than Trikru

14. “Remember that time we welded your dad’s furniture to the ceiling? Now THAT was a prank.”

15. “You’re not God, Clarke. You don’t get to decide who lives and dies.”

Hmm … that’s an interesting line. Almost like it might be … I don’t know … A major theme of the show or something?

Also A++ delivery Devon. Kudos.

16. This show is SO GOOD with moral dilemmas

They truly do bring their A-Game every season. The List is just one example of these so-called moral dilemmas. There truly is no right choice. Clarke was pragmatic, everything she did made SENSE. But was it moral? Was it humane? That’s another story, and it’s one these writers are not afraid to tell.

17. Monty and Clarke’s interactions are all so on point

“You’re the one going too far and using the same old justification: it’s all for my people.”

Monty is spilling the tea this episode and while I understand Clarke’s mindset and sympathize with her for dealing with the pressure on her shoulders, everything that Monty said in this scene was absolutely 100% true, and it’s going to come into play in Clarke’s character arc this season, I am sure.

18. Raven’s struggle with her leg is so real

Kim perfectly captured the struggles that Raven has to deal with and how her leg, while limits her physical ability, certainly does not limit her determination, her skill, and her brain.

19. “What if the fight is all we are? We torture, kill, betray. We pretend we’re more than that just to make ourselves feel better, but it’s a lie.”

I love this line so much. This episode encapsulates so many themes and big ideas of the show (and it grapples with morality in hugeeeee ways) and I’m loving it.

20. “You’re not a prisoner, Luna. You have a choice.”

Raven putting her gun down and saying this to Luna is SO important, especially when you think about how Clarke tried to force the flame on her in 3x14. Free will was a major theme last year and I’m glad to see it paying off now.

21. Jaha swooping in and stealing that crowd

Listen. I know that there are many conflicted opinions on Jaha and I know that lot of people hate him. But I have never been more intrigued. His story this season is sooo interesting. I have no idea what to expect from him. I feel as though he is so disconnected from the other characters at this point in the narrative that he’s a complete wild card. Do I trust him or not? Should I? What are his motives? What knowledge does he have that the other characters don’t?

He’s so fascinating to me in that he is completely unpredictable. His story this season could break off in just about any direction.

This scene was really fun to watch. Clearly, Jaha’s years of being a Chancellor comes in handy with a crowd. He knows what to do, what to say, to sway them. It reminds me of Bellamy, in a way, actually. Say what you will about Jaha, but he has a way with words and he knows how to inspire people. I can’t wait to see how this goes.

(I totally think that lottery is bullshit and I think that Jaha realizes this, but he’s manipulating the crowd. We’ll see how this blows up in our faces later.)

“The people need to feel like they have a say in their fate.”

Another interesting line that I enjoyed. Just wanted to point it out.

22. “It’s the only choice you gave yourself. If you think you have the best idea, you have to convince people, not lie to them. Or lock them up.”

So choices and free will and truth and morality are all big focusses of this episode. People seem to overlook how much great thematic stuff is in 4x04 but there’s a lot and it’s great.

23. Becca’s lab is bomb AF

25. “Take me home.”

My Thoughts 5x17

- Did not enjoy Oliver being tortured BUT I’m super glad it was interspersed so well with Flashbacks.

- I honestly was more uncomfortable with Oliver skinning a man then the fact that he may have enjoyed killing in the past.

- Adrian Chase knows Oliver so well, he knows Oliver would hate himself IF he actually enjoyed killing.

- Stephen Amell was amazing and deserves an Emmy. So sad shows like Arrow never get recognized.

- Missed Felicity so much. I really wanted to see her panic. Was hoping for a more disheveled look but she did look SUPER tiny and so horrified at what had been done to Oliver. You can tell she is aching to take care of him.

- I swear I heard Evelyn’s neck crack.

- Kovar was awesome and the Sarin gas in Russia…wow. So glad he lives.

- I heart Anatoly introducing himself to Malcolm Merlyn as a gangster and trying so hard to steer Oliver on the right path. He really did take on a father role.

- Bringing up the Count knowing it would bring up Felicity and then showing her glasses to Oliver - Adrian you must pay for your EVILNESS.

- Spoilers I accidentally saw were taken out of context which only made things worst for me.

Cannot wait for next week!!!

This is a Henry x Lizzie modern au fic inspired by @harritudur’s flatmates au. Thank you dear for allowing me to play in your sandbox!

Henry and Lizzie are uni students in London and share a flat. Enjoy!

“Remind me again why we’re here.”

His voice seemed to have come from far, far away. Lizzie almost didn’t hear it, such was her state of mind. The day was splendidly beautiful. The warm light of the late afternoon covered everything in a golden haze, surprisingly making up for the chilliness of the occasional wind blowing in Regent’s Park. Lizzie had her eyes closed, sunbeams played behind her eyelids to produce the most extraordinary colours. Nothing could spoil that day, not even a mildly cranky Henry Tudor.

“It’s your fault, really.” She slowly opened her eyes to look at him squarely. “You wouldn’t stop nagging me about how I should not get the tube in my condition. You left me no option but to drag you along.”

Old Forgotten Works (3/?)

-All It Took Part 2-

It was actually surprising to David how docile Max had become after being in his care for only a few short days.

Max said please and thank you, and he accepted every loving touch David offered like head pats and hugs. Even the small kisses David placed on his temple before he turned out the lights in the living room when bed time rolled around!

He hadn’t cursed, or swatted at David in days and frankly, it concerned him. Ever since the drive home, Max seemed to be in a state of complete aloofness.

He lounged on the couch watching cartoons and upon David’s request would wander outside and find a comfortable spot to enjoy the sun and gentle winds. He’d burry himself somewhere in the soft grass and lay down until David asked him to come inside.

His brows didn’t furrow, he didn’t mutter in anger when David requested he move. Not a sound left him other than contented sighs and soft, short replies.

Before the end of the third day, Max had found a permanent spot on the couch he rarely moved from unless David requested something of him.

It was starting to concern David, even now as they approached the end of their first week together, Max had proved to be content with his resting place.

David huffed a short sigh of concern.

He stared hard from where he was leaning against the counter in the kitchen, at the boy who was curled up against the arm of the sofa, watching a random movie that David had picked out for him last time he visited the store. It was the third time that day he had watched it.

David twirled the curled wire of the landline with his index finger, checking once more that Max was focused on the tv screen before speaking.

“I don’t know Gwen, he just lays there all day, and he looks barely conscious when he does do something.”

He heard Gwen hum as she thought, and he could practically see her tapping her chin as she tried to organize the information in her mind.

“Maybe he just needs to shake out of it, what happened was a pretty big deal. He’s probably still in shock. Maybe take him out somewhere to eat, somewhere he has to be more alert of his surroundings? That could pull him out.” She offered. He could hear loud crashing on the other end and a quiet string of curses.

“You should come too!” David hurriedly suggested amongst the chaos of screaming and high pitched yowls from the other end.

“Yeah, uh, sure buddy. I gotta bail, the cats knocked over my moms plants again.” With that the line went dead and David gently hung the phone up. He turned around and went wide eyed as his eyes fell on the smaller boy in the living room.

Max was staring at him, chin resting on the arm of the couch with his eyes drooped. “Gwen?” He whispered and when David nodded he gave him a lazy warm smile.

“I miss her.” It was so faint David almost didn’t catch it. Max returned to his movie.

On the way to Pizzeria they had all gathered at just weeks ago before the end of camp, Max seemed to be excited. Well, as excited as this new Max tried to be. He sat up straight and swung his feet, he even mustered up a (very small) smile of thanks as David let him ride shotgun instead of insisting on the safety of the back seat.

“We should get the same thing as last time yeah? They have some really good pizza!”

Max was staring at his kicking feet, and hummed a response that the older man took as a yes.

David wordlessly drummed his hands along to the soft song on the radio, humming the tune. He hated the silence, and he hated the way Max wasn’t filling it.

Gwen held out her arms so wide for Max once she stepped out of her car. David almost ran into them himself but he restrained.

Max blinked at her for a second, shocked that this woman was actually Gwen. Her hair was in her signature ponytail but she donned on a soft grey shirt with a black skirt. Max was used to seeing her in shorts and shirts that were bloodstained and caked in mud. This was not the Gwen he was used to at all.

She nodded encouragingly at him and Max tore off in her direction, and collided into her chest. She picked him up in one fell swoop and laughed as Max buried himself into her shoulder. His shoulders shook, and when he pulled away to look at her she could feel the wet spots on her shirt pressing against her skin.

“I missed you too, little shit.”

Gwen must have been right because as soon as they sat down, Max seemed to be filled with a new energy. David watched the two from the counter, Max excitedly talking while Gwen stirred her drink. Max’s hands were flying as he recounted the terrifying tale.

David could only hear bits and pieces but he already knew the story, he had lived it, and so he returned to staring at the staff as they made their meal.

“And I didn’t know what to do! And she was crying, right? So I just called David, and this bastard hauls straight ass because he was there quick. And by now my fuckin’ Dad stormed out and my moms still crying a lot. Then suddenly David shows up in all his glory, and she looked more sad then mad that I was leaving, but I think she’s okay with it now. But anyways-”

“Breathe!” Gwen laughed. “Your stories very exciting but I lost you as soon as you started.”

Max blinked, “Oh. Well I guess I’ll just fuckin restart then.” He rolled his eyes in such a familiar fashion that Gwens smile widened.

Max had devoured most of the pizza, and it occurred to David that Max really didn’t eat all that much when they were together. It was a joyful sight to see him munching on his third slice of pizza.

“And David told me you’ve been watching this movie a lot?” Gwen said it more so as a question than a statement. Max turned his head to the side, much like David would when he was asked a question, like a confused puppy.

“Yeah, it has dragons in it and stuff and this kid tries to train a really dangerous one. It’s okay I guess.” Max shrugged and stared at his kicking feet.

David refused to let him retreat back into himself after they had just made so much progress.

Bachelorette Opinions 🐸☕️

i don’t understand why people are so upset that rachel picked bryan. she made it beyond clear that at the end of this process she wants a ring. peter continuously said that he wasn’t ready to propose. in an ideal situation saying i love you to someone in 2 months is worth a side eye but they weren’t in an ideal environment. i’m more confused with the fact that peter would come on to a show knowing that the typical outcome is a proposal and not be ready to propose?? rachel was right when she said the process was not for him. he needs more time to make a decision like that and that it perfectly fine. but if you knew ahead of time that 2 months isn’t enough time to propose to someone WHY APPLY TO BE ON THE DAMN SHOW?? rachel knew what she wanted and she continuously made that clear and people are hating and “losing respect” for her because she knows what she wants? she didn’t pressure peter, they both knew what each other wanted! and as far as her saying she’s living her best life.. i see no issue? he said her life would be mediocre without him. and you’re telling me you wouldn’t clap back? yeah right. as long as she’s happy there should be no issue. i didn’t know her relationship affected y'all’s lives so damn badly. and as far as peter goes… he is the obvious front runner for the bachelor. in a ideal situation he would be perfect but it’s not ideal because it’s a 2 month process and he has already spoken up that that is his issue. so honestly if he takes the bachelor position (which he obviously will) he is being a hypocrite.
