i know it isn't in the album but they sing it in the movie so

🎶🎶When You Collect Records🎶🎶
  • Hipster: *moves dusty old boxes out of the way* Whoa, an old record player. It looks like it's in working order too! *runs outside*
  • Hipster: Yo, dad!
  • Dad: What?
  • Hipster: We're getting rid of all of poppop's stuff, right?
  • Dad: There's something you want, isn't there?
  • Hipster: There's this old stereo record player in the attic.
  • Dad: What do you need a record player for?
  • Hipster: My record collection.
  • Dad: I didn't even know they still made those things. Can't you just listen to music on your phone?
  • Hipster: Dad, there's a big difference between listening to music digitally and on record.
  • Dad: Fine, I don't wanna get into it with you right now. You can take the record player. You just have to get someone else to take it to your place for you. My truck's full.
  • Hipster: Thanks dad! *smooches dad on the cheek*
  • *later at hipster's apartment*
  • Friend: So, like Patch Adams ends with Patch Adams half-naked in front of a ton of people. I don't know if it was meant to be funny or like a weird sex thing, but like the movie was just a deeply disturbing character study. I can't stop thinking about it.
  • Hipster: That sounds boring. *unlocks door to apartment* Ta-da! Here it is! My new record player!
  • Friend: New? Looks fucking old to me, dude.
  • Hipster: Well, it is old. That's the appeal. And we're going to listen to the new Sufjan record on it.
  • Friend: Is that actually how you say Sufjan? Apparently, I've been pronouncing it wrong this whole time.
  • Hipster: Well, you won't after this record. There's an entire track where he just says his name for four minutes. It's amazing. *plays records*
  • Record Player: *coughs* Hello. Hello! Where am I? Doctor? Hello! Why is it so dark...............................Can I breathe? I can't breath. Oh god, I'm not breathing! Oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god, oh god! I.....................................
  • Hipster: Uh, that's not Sufjan.
  • Friend: It totally isn't. Is it some guest vocalist? I like the new direction he's going in. No instruments or singing, and long stretches of silence. Very experimental.
  • Hipster: *stops record player* I think maybe we should do something else for now.
  • Friend: Fucking lame! I wanted to listen to more Sufjan.
  • *days later at the record store*
  • Hipster: Yo, I think the Sufjan Stevens record I bought from here might be some kind of mispress.
  • Store Clerk: Really? It's a pretty major album. I doubt there'd just be a mispress like that.
  • Hipster: Yeah, but listen to it. It's not Sufjan at all. It's some girl talking.
  • *hipster and clerk listen to a completely normal Sufjan Stevens album together*
  • Store Clerk: What are you talking about? This is definitely Sufjan Stevens.
  • Hipster: Okay, but it wasn't like that when I listened to it at home! I even listened to it with my friend and he heard the same thing!
  • Store Clerk: Maybe there's something wrong with your record player.
  • Hipster: Hmm, maybe there is.
  • *back at the apartment*
  • Hipster: *turns on record player and just listens*
  • Record Player: ...I'm awake again. Why did I black out? Did I even black out? God, I'm not breathing, but it doesn't matter. Why don't I need to breathe? Am I even alive?
  • Hipster: Can you hear me?
  • Record Player: Doctor. Doctor! DOCTOR! Why can't I move? Why can't I feel anything. Keep yourself together. It'll all make sense soon. Calm down. Just breathe deeply. Fuck, I can't breathe! AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEE! I CAN'T BREATHE! DOCTOR! DOCTOR! DOCTOR! HELP! HELP ME, PLEASE! I'M STUCK! I CAN'T MOVE! PLEASE HELP ME!
  • Hipster: *turns off record player* It's just a recording, I bet. I can't believe I talked to it like an idiot... *nervously turns record player back on*
  • Record Player: I blacked out again. I blacked out. For how long? Is there even time here? Hell. This is hell, right? Did I go to hell.........................................
  • Hipster: *listens to the record player for hours*
  • Record Player: Negative 6893 bottles of wine on the wall! Negative 6893 bottles of wine! Take one down, pass it around, Negative 6894 bottles of wine on the wall... fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME! AIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
  • Hipster: *keeps listening*
  • Record Player: Soul of Christ, make me holy, Body of Christ, be my salvation. God, please forgive me. I'm sorry for all of my sins. Please free me. I'm so sorry. Please. Please. Please.
  • Hipster: *still listening*
  • Record Player: FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! SHITTY DOCTOR! FUCK YOU! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT! *sobs intensely* FUCK YOU! FUCK YOU! FUCK EVERYTHING! Please just let me go.
  • Hipster: *nervously walks up to record player and lightly taps on it*
  • Record Player: ...A knock. A KNOCK! PLEASE HELP ME! I'M STUCK! PLEASE! *record player begins shake violently*
  • Hipster: *backs away in fear*
  • Record Player: HELP! HELP! HELP ME! PLEASE, IF SOMEONE'S THERE, HELP ME! HELP ME! I'M STUCK! GET ME OUT OF HERE, PLEASE!
  • Hipster: *unplugs record player*
  • Hipster: *gets hammer from the closet and begins to break apart record player*
  • Record Player: *drips red*
  • Hipster: W-What? *cracks front of record player open*
  • *rotting viscera falls from the record player*
  • Hipster: O-Oh... *stuffs viscera back into the record player and duct tapes over it*
  • Hipster: *turns record player back on*
  • Record Player: ...I can feel. It hurts. Why does it hurt now? Why does it hurt? Why? Why? Why? WHY!? WHY!? WHY!? *spurts blood through it speakers and begins to gurgle*
  • Record Player: *hops forward* Please just let me go. Please... please. I'll do anything. I just want to see you again. I'm so sorry. This isn't what I asked for. I'm so sorry. *hops forward again and comes unplugged*
  • Record Player: *tips over, bleeding heavily onto the carpet*
  • Hipster: *silently cleans up the mess*
  • *some time later*
  • Hipster: *calls dad* Hey, dad. Oh, nothing. Uh, I just need to borrow your truck, If not tonight sometime this week. I just need to get rid of something. No, no, that's fine, I can do it myself. Yeah, tomorrow morning is perfect. Thanks Love you too. Bye.
  • *the next afternoon*
  • Dad: So, what did you need to get rid of this morning?
  • Hipster: Nothing important. Just some old junk... Dad, what kind of person was poppop?
  • Dad: Well, he was only the greatest man I've known in my life. Really caring, dedicated to his family. When you were born he loved you so much. He was a bit of a loner, though. It took a lot to get him to open up. Even around me and your grandmother. He was a bit like you. Always a huge music lover.
  • Hipster: I see. Was he ever a doctor?
  • Dad: That's a weird thing to ask. Nope. He hated doctors. Didn't trust modern medicine one bit. It's ironic. His cancer probably wouldn't have gotten to him if he did. But, your poppop was always so stubborn.
  • Hipster: Oh, okay then.
  • *some days later*
  • Friend: New carpet?
  • Hipster: Yup, old one was ugly wasn't it. It was time for a change.
  • Friend: That's what I've been telling you! I'm glad you finally came to your senses. What happened to your record player, though?
  • Hipster: That thing? I threw it away. It was busted.
  • Friend: That sucks. Are you gonna buy a new one?
  • Hipster: No.
  • Friend: But you won't have anything to play your records on.
  • Hipster: Yeah, but I buy records because I want to support the artists. They're not really for listening. Besides, lossless is better. FLAC is the future.

Hi, I didn’t get the first part of this message? Please tell me if I misunderstood! (I’m sorry for making this answer so long).

Generosity and humbleness

I think if Joe really is a beard, They make mistake for taking him as tay's beard. His looks is so similiar with Karlie. It would raise conspicuousness, isn't it?

Hi Anon,      You’re sweet ;)

That’s exactely why he was hired : 1 love song (minimum) on Reputation will be Tay singing about this tall, handsome, blond, with beautiful light eyes (or whatever) secret love, kept hidden, protected from the world, just for the two of them ..etc (sorry i don’t have her talent for songwriting ;)

The Het fans will think it’s about him, not Kar….Same for the general population…

That’s why she had to find a beard who looks close to what Kar looks like: she will not sing about a beautiful love story still hapening, if she refers to Tom (who is also tall, light eyes and light hair) : it doesn’t work…. And the song referring to Calvin won’t be a nice one lol….

She had to be more creative = Joe … and the best part: the guy is a nobody, a Z list, so he is easier to control for the stunts, it brought a lot publicity for him, he’ll probably have a few roles in movies because his name will be more known from the public now: it’s a huge win-win for him & a very good cover for her :)

A Z list actor no one knows is easier to manage than an A list actor, another famous singer, or an arrogant Scottish DJ…just saying, i’m sure Joe is not a bother for them to deal with…

Plus she’s been staged “paped” with him only twice so far, so he’s met with her maybe 4 times in total since last october ??

The strategic part is not to be obvious when the album is released, not to have big rumors floating around in the beginning, esp with the tour starting a few months after that .. But she can do it gradually, during the tour & in her future music videos, give more hints, clues maybe a little easier to find out (for the Hets & the general population), change pronouns more often & more strategically during the concerts….

She already did those things during the 1989 era, but the Hets didn’t see/notice/wanna see these clues, read between the lines of her lyrics, really observe the music videos, her changing pronouns ….

But we did notice, because Kaylors always notice & Tay knows it :)

And with this new era, our eyes are wide open :)

Interview for Kerrang, December 2004.
  • Chris: "Matt, Have you ever rejected a song for being too over the top?"
  • Matt: "(Laughs) No. Never for that reason, no. I still don't think we're even touching on the beginning of anything close to what has been done in the past in terms of what is regarded over the top."
  • Matt: "If I left the band and you could choose anybody in history to replace me, who would you have?"
  • Dom: "Jimi Hendrix. Well, he's Matt's favourite guitarist, I think. And mine. Plus, he'll fit into the three-piece vibe. It'd work."
  • Dom: "Have you ever spied me doing anything embarrassing, yet spared my blushes by not telling me?"
  • Matt: "Hmmm, Good question. I'm sure there's something. Hmmm."
  • Dom: "You saw me getting laid once."
  • Matt: "That's true, actually: I came in a room once and filmed him with a night vision camera. Ah, I know - I saw him putting on moisturiser once."
  • Chris: "What would you say, If I said I'd invented a Kiss-style image and I wanted to incorporate it onstage?"
  • Matt: "I'd say, it was about fucking time! (Laughs)About time we took it to the next level, I'd say. I've been waiting for one of these two to come up with something; I'd be very happy, yeah. But, I know these two probably wouldn't go there."
  • Chris: "I think I'd probably go there, but I don't know about Kiss."
  • Matt: "What do you think of me getting all the attention and adulation?"
  • Matt: "I don't get it all! Bollocks. Bollocks. Bollocks." (Discards question, chooses new one.)
  • Matt: "If I wanted to record a solo album, how concerned would you be?"
  • Chris: "If I could play bass on it, it'd be alright (Laughs)."
  • Dom: "Which one of us needs to see a shrink and why?"
  • Matt: "I think we've all got hidden agendas. I've never seen one, even though my girlfriend is one. Well, not yet professionally, but she probably will be."
  • Matt: "If you had to select a fancy dress outfit for me, would you choose batman, superman or wonder woman?"
  • Chris: "Batman."
  • Matt: "That's dark. I'm not a dark person, I'm the sunshine of your life."
  • Dom: "Well, I'd say Wonder Woman."
  • Matt: "That's how he'd want to see me. Ever since I saw him bend over to get an injection in his bum, there's been a strange energy between us (laughs). There's definitely suspicion."
  • Dom: "What do you get sick of me moaning on about?"
  • Matt: "Me being late."
  • Chris: "Turning the hi-hats up. Silly little things on the drums."
  • Matt: "Actually, he doesn't really moan much, does he?"
  • Dom: "Really? I thought I was a moaner."
  • Chris: "Who's the worst fighter?"
  • Matt: "If you're small like me, you've got to do other things. If you don't have the physical strength, you've got to use weapons. It's not that I fight like a girl, it's just that I'll use whatever object is at hand."
  • Dom: "I actually think I'm the worst. I smacked one guy in the face once and I thought I looked really hard, and he just turned around, looked at me, and squashed me on the floor in one go. It was quite embarrassing. So, yeah, it's most likely I'd lose, but I'd go down with my teeth in someone's leg."
  • Matt: "What do you think of my dress sense?"
  • Dom: "(Laughs) Pretty sharp these days. As opposed to... shiny pants and glitter shirts."
  • Matt: "Make-up, shiny trousers. Those were the good ol' days. I miss all that."
  • Dom: "What's the worst thing about sharing a tour bus with me?"
  • Matt: "All your faffing around. His electric toothbrush and mouthwash just winds me up. It's just annoying. For one, it reminds me how unclean I am."
  • Chris: "If a spacecraft landed in front of us and a hatch opened up - which of us would be mad enough to go onboard?"
  • Dom: "I'd be in there."
  • Chris: "I'd want to see the beings first."
  • Matt: "I wouldn't go on my own, if I knew we were all going on, I'd be happy to go first."
  • Matt: "Do you think I'm a good looking bloke?"
  • Matt: "That's ridiculous, I can't ask a question like that." (Discards question and chooses new one.)
  • Matt: "Do you two get recognised much when you're out shopping?"
  • Dom: "All the time - they think I'm Matt!"
  • Matt: "Really?"
  • Dom: "I actually did get recognised a couple of days ago at HMV in Islington."
  • Chris: "I got recognised in Co - Op once. I had to sign a little receipt."
  • Chris: "What's my most annoying habit?"
  • Matt: "Farting. I can recognise you by your farts by both smell and volume."
  • Dom: "If I'm in a hotel room, like two floors above him, I can hear him. I'm like, 'Jesus'. He's loud."
  • Matt: "If I had a hygiene problem, would you tell me?"
  • Dom: "I tell you every day (laughs). Get in the shower. Brush your teeth."
  • Matt: "That is true, that is true."
  • Dom: "Which of us has the best home movie collection?"
  • Matt: "Chris. He's got all the Bond films."
  • Chris: "On video and DVD. I try to buy about five DVDs a week."
  • Chris: "What's the worst thing about being in Muse?"
  • Matt: "..."
  • Chris: "..."
  • Dom: "..."
  • Matt: "Our legal bills. The business side. It's complicated. I wouldn't wish it on anybody."
  • Matt: "Is there any song you hate, or used to hate, playing live?"
  • Dom: "Er, no."
  • Chris: "I used to be uncomfortable with 'Blackout', because I never used to play keyboards until that song. They made me learn and I wasn't really a natural player. I was a bit on edge to start with, but I can play it a lot easier now."
  • Matt: "For me it would be a song called 'Cave'. It was on the first album, but it's probably the oldest song of anything we ever did. It was a combination of, one, it was old; and two, it had this vocal bit that had a note I had to hold for so long. It was way too long. You get the odd person still call out for it. Hardcore."
  • Chris: "Who's the biggest bitch?"
  • Dom: "Matt's the biggest and we're his bitches."
  • Dom: "If a venomous snake bit my arse, would you suck the poison out?"
  • Matt: "I'd be more than happy to. I have got medical training - I did a first-aid course. I can do resuscitation, mouth-to-mouth, all that kind of thing. If you cut an artery open, I could stop the bleeding; tie a belt around the groin, fucking do it tight and stand on it, and go, 'SHUT UP!'. Did you know when you see all that thumping of the chest stuff in films, that you can't actually bring somebody back to life by doing that? All you can do is keep them alive until someone turns up with an electrode. You're basically pumping the blood around the body to keep them alive; that's all you're doing. Drowning's a different matter, if someone's got loads of water inside their mouth, you can just blow inside their lungs and maybe they'll be able to cough and splutter it back out again. But, yeah, the venom; I'm not that advanced, but I'd give it a go."
  • Dom: "How about if it bit me on my knob?"
  • Matt: "Then I'd let you die."
  • Chris: "Who's the tightest bastard?"
  • Matt: "Dom. Although it depends what you mean (laughs). Let me think.
  • Erm... I think we're all pretty goddamn good with cash, to be honest. We're all pretty generous. And, yeah, we do charity work. But, we don't like to talk about it. We usually just give hard cash to Oxfam and that's it. We don't go around going (adopts goofy voice), 'Ooh, look at me'. The Bible says if you sing about it, you don't get recognition for it. So, I've just sung about it and blown it all (laughs)."
  • Dom: "Who's the best sportsman?"
  • Matt: "Chris."
  • Chris: "Years ago I might have accepted that, but these days I fall over and break my wrist while playing football on concrete; so I can't be that good."
  • Chris: "If I developed superpowers, would I use them for good or evil?"
  • Matt: "A bit of both."
  • Dom: "I think you'd probably take the piss."
  • Matt: "Am I in touch with my feminine side?"
  • Matt: "This actually isn't my question, I nicked it out of Dom's glass."
  • Dom: "In touch with your feminine side? Er. Yes and no. Actually, I mean, yes, but at the same time... no (laughs)."
  • Matt: "Why, what do you mean?"
  • Dom: "Well, yeah you are, because you wear women's clothes."
  • Matt: "Do I?"
  • Dom: "Yet, when I've tried to kiss you, you don't like it."

anonymous asked:

why aren't shawols supporting taemin digitally but they are with jonghyun's song when it isn't even by him

okay, i’ll be honest: that’s ridiculous. shawols are working hard to help out all of the members in every way that they can right now. they’re streaming both taemin’s song and jonghyun’s song for lee hi, but focused more on taemin’s which is understandable. they’re also doing their part to juggle live streaming or watching every variety and radio show that taemin has appeared on, along with new episodes of descendants of the sun for onew. they’re also working hard to continue purchasing physical copies of taemin’s album despite it being out of stock in a lot of places, and to both up his music video views and vote for him on music shows. people need to understand: the way that a song does digitally isn’t completely linked to fandom. yes, fandom is important but how the public reacts / takes to the song and longevity is just as important, as is hype. sm is terrible at hyping shinee for some reason, and they honestly dropped the ball with taemin’s song, just like they did with jonghyun’s last album. the advantage that lee hi’s song has over everything else at the moment? she’s from yg and the public “trust” yg. it’s biased and sad but true. sm artists are popular but still have a stigma attached to them because people tend to view idols as less capable of making “legitimately” good songs, and sm’s always promoted their idols are, you know, idols. there’s nothing wrong at all with being an idol but apparently the public think that there is. yg, on the other hand, has always promoted his idols as “artists” and the public eats that up so their songs tend to do better digitally. take that and add on all the media hype yg has done not only about lee hi’s comeback but jonghyun’s song for her doing so well digitally and people are gonna keep on checking it out. at this point, yes, there are going to be shawols streaming it to support jonghyun but the greater percentage is regular non-idol fan listeners. with taemin’s song specifically: people like it but, as already mentioned, the public has a massive bias against sm artists and it’s even worse toward their male artists, and male idol groups in general (with the exception of a few). a comment that was made on a netizenbuzz article about the new season of produce 101 probably being focused on a boy group is proof of that: “but why would boys watch a bunch of other boys singing and dancing when it’s not even hip hop…, tsk tsk sigh”. the public (especially males, who focus on female idols because it’s deemed alright while it’s considered to be “weird” for guys to stan other male idols) basically makes guys feel awkward if they’re a fan of male groups that perform more upbeat or experimental pop songs. this is a sad fact as well. shinee are able to break past this usually (because they do the most consistently well digitally after big bang and exo, along with beast) but people apparently still have a stigma against them as soloists, especially taemin, which is unfair.

anyway, i’ve seen a lot of comments like this in the last day and i honestly don’t like the implication that fans are trying hard for or favoring a release from one of the members over another. it’s a hurtful thought and it’s not positive for fandom. (i also wanna point out that it’s unfair to some fans because we’re not all able to take time to do everything required to support a comeback. people have jobs, families, school, etc. and if they even do something like watch the music video a few times a day that should be enough. it makes me sad when people try to guilt others for not “doing enough” when they’re doing what they can.) it causes bickering and i’ve seen bickering which kind of bums me out? because all of the members are doing so well in their respective areas right now. taemin has the best selling album physically of the year so far and he broke a record in solo artist sales plus his album is getting praised both domestically and physically. onew is in a drama that’s not only the top one at the moment in south korea, but is gaining tens of millions of viewers in china / around the world that has osts eating up the digital charts, and people acclaiming his acting. minho has another drama coming up and the announcement of his casting was positive rather than negative like it used to be in the past, and three movies. key is making his stage!play debut / finally doing solo endorsements / working on more costuming and fashion related projects, and jonghyun is getting praised not only for his compositions / lyric writing but for his personality which is a feat because netizens used to say really rude things about him in the past. and that’s just individual activities. it doesn’t count everything linked to shinee as a group (including them selling out their entire japanese tour, including two dome dates) and how they’re still rising despite almost being eight years.

this got a little off topic but i’ve been feeling a lot the last few hours, lmao. i’ll just end this with: shawols are doing what they can and they’re doing well. not everything can be won or done perfectly, but the fact that they’re trying as hard as they can should be acknowledged. shinee are also working very hard, both individually and as a group, and we should support them equally / in every way we can rather than trying to point fingers or pit them against each other. so, let’s not only continue trying to stream both taemin’s song but jonghyun’s for lee hi. let’s watch onew’s drama, tune in for key’s return as mc on m!countdown tomorrow, and do what we can to show support for his play and for minho’s acting despite it being a bit harder to do so. be happy! support and don’t fight! love the group!
