i just wanted to make something with these two

I’m mostly just annoyed that even though Malec got almost half of the emotionally important scenes in the episode (which was awesome), people are still whining that it isn’t enough, because the show didn’t fetishize the relationship by making it all about how they had sex, or showing the sex scene in full detail.

Especially when it’s clear that the last sex scene they did show was a meaningless one, which showed that that was all Jace had with that girl.

I’d much rather have huge scenes like the one where Alec stood up for Magnus to Maryse, or where Alec told Magnus that he sees them as something important, and wants him to be part of the family, than just seeing some sex scene between the two of them.

Look, sex scenes are nice, but regardless of what people might like to think, Shadowhunters isn’t just about Malec, and if they have to pick which scenes to show between the two characters in the limited time they have to devote on their storyline, then I’d much rather see meaningful scenes of mutual love and support, instead of just a sex scene.

anonymous asked:

just out of curiosity, why did you choose to center your blog around the fells as kids instead of adults?

((Oh! Ahahaha, well, actually for two very simple reasons!

1) A ton of my headcanons for the fellbros once they’re older are pretty angst-y and I wanted to do something more happy and positive for the AU. Thus, I figured it’d be easier and a lot more fun to just focus on them in their early years~!

2) To avoid shipping asks ^^;; (And not just for ships that you might think I’m trying to ignore—honestly speaking, there’s only so many ways I can answer the question “Sans, who do you have a crush on?” or “Papyrus, do you think x is cute?” before it gets stale. That’s ultimately not what this blog is about hahahah)

That said, it’s definitely not like I won’t ever draw them older? I adore the fellbros immensely and I have a ton of ideas, but I’d rather put my energy into creating positive, fluffy stuff for Underfell first and leaving the angst for rougher days :’D

So, essentially, it’s not off the table—it’s just not a priority atm~ ;u;))

My Reason for Doing Anything: Because Cute

Happy Family Day, everybody! In order to celebrate today and the season seven spoilers we just go over the weekend, I thought we could just do something fun.

No real analytical insight here (she says, as if there normally is), I just want to acknowledge how cute the families are in this dang show. I could argue we’re doing this because the characters and their relationships are so central in what makes the show as wonderful as it is but… let’s be honest. It’s just because they’re cute.

Okay, so, before we start with that cuteness, let’s set some ground rules. Honourary/found families are in the running, and a family only has to be two or more characters. Small families are still families. Also, if it’s debatable that the characters themselves see that relationship as family, I’ll use my own judgement on whether they count or not.

Oh, and I should specify since we’re not taking this seriously in the slightest, the order is more a suggestion than anything. I would in fact really love to hear what you think the cutest family really is, but hey, I’ll keep blabbing whether you want to join in or not!

Special Spoiler Warning: Season 7 spoilers will be mentioned or referenced. Once specific episodes air in season 7, this list will be updated.

Honourable Mentions

Here’s the families that didn’t quite make the cut:

  • The Dash Family
  • The Sparkle Family
  • The Flim-Flam Bros
  • The Filthy Family
  • Cranky & Miltilda
  • Scorpan and Tirek
  • Sunburst’s Family
  • Discord and Fluttershy (an upcoming book entitled We Are Family suggests they might be considered familiy in some fashion, as well as a brief implication in the Luna and Discord Friends Forever comic; however, it has yet to be implied in the show proper)
  • Background/Side-Character Families

If I missed anyone significant, feel free to tell me so I can add it to the list!

#10. The Flutter/Breeze Family

Let’s start out with something not everyone can agree on: Zephyr Breeze is a fun character, if nothing else.

Like every family in MLP, Fluttershy’s family reveals a lot about her upbringing just by being who they are in the present. There’s no need for a flashback when you can plainly see Fluttershy’s coddling parents, and Zephyr Breeze’s bombastic, thoughtless personality and how he walks all over his family.

To some, this understandably makes Zephyr unlikable, but for others still, the comedy of his character lies in loving to… maybe not hate him, but certainly recognize just how unlikable he is. His silly self-absorption puts him clearly in the wrong in the episode, but to be fair to the guy, even when he’s extremely inconsiderate he’s never really malicious. You can tell he does love his family, he’s just a little focused on himself to show it well.

Between Zephyr’s fear of failure and Fluttershy’s fears of… well, a lot of things, it’s quite endearing to see Fluttershy’s character development pay off, and allow her to take the competent big sister role when coming home for a visit.

#9. The Armour-Amore Family

Really quick thought: it doesn’t seem like ponies always change their last names when they get married, but if they use Cadance’s name (and they did carry on that name scheme in a way with Flurry Heart), they would be the Amore or “Love” family. Just throwing that out there.

Ah, Shining Armor, Cadance, and Flurry Heart. One of the only families we’ve seen built from the ground up—and in real-time, nonetheless!

Even though the world’s cutest plot device there has garnered a fair bit of controversy, I’d still personally say this new family is pretty dang sweet. They’re currently living out a happily ever after of sorts, although still proving that comes with its fair share of struggles and quirks.

This is definitely a family founded on love. In fact that’s probably why Flurry Heart is so special to begin with. Together, her parents wield the power of love, so who knows what they can achieve working together, as a sweet, loving family.

#8. Rarity’s Family/The Belle Family

Another Note: Their mom has some kind of cookie-related cutie mark—is that their family theme? Sweets? Because I’ve been struggling to figure out how family names work in Equestria and that’s the best I’ve managed to find for these four

Who says there can’t be any fun in “dysfunctional?”

Now he’s a family with a lot of character, even if we don’t technically really know half of them. Rarity’s parents have only had a speaking role once, in Sisterhooves Social, but wow, did that one appearance pack a punch!

With their unfashionable mid-western designs and hokey Minnesotan accents, you can instantly tell what Rarity’s relationship with them must’ve been like, just because of the contrast between them.

Even better, of course, is one of the three primary sister relationships in the show: Rarity and Sweetie Belle.

I really struggle with not putting this higher because of them. They so expertly capture the subtleties of an argumentative but loving sibling relationship. How Sweetie looks up to Rarity, but that also puts her in her shadow. How Rarity’s responsibilities can even make Sweetie’s well-meaning failures frustrating. They’ve certainly had to grow quite a bit to be as close as they are now, and that relatable struggle is what makes this family all the sweeter.

#7. Celestia and Her Students

This one was the hardest to justify. Because it would be one thing if the only reason I wanted to include it was based on my own silly headcanons (which I could do but I don’t want this list to just be personal choices), but I feel like there’s been enough evidence to back me up here.

Celestia’s a motherly character by nature, so it doesn’t come as a surprise when that comes through in her role as a mentor. But I think what clinches it is how to some extent, she really did help raise Twilight and Sunset. If nothing else, it’s sort of comparable to a nanny, I guess, but even then that doesn’t seem to cut it. In the comics, Twilight’s been shown to have had other teachers throughout her schooling, but Celestia’s been a constant part of her life ever since she got her cutie mark—and even now that she’s graduated as a full-grown adult.

And don’t get me started on the mother-daughter parallels in Sunset and Celestia’s relationship, or what little we’ve seen of it. The added depth that comes with knowing how meaningful that relationship is to them both only makes the fracture between them more filled with The Feels. I swear, the fandom’s all but made a petition to DHX to show us their reunion.

They both look up to her and want her approval in their own ways, and that… kills me. Slowly.

My gut tells me there will be those who argue that even if it’s a meaningful relationship, it’s not necessarily classified as family, which is true. Outside of fan-works, neither Twilight, Sunset, nor Celestia have explicitly referred to each other family in any real way. But, hey, I did say honorary family counts, and if the subtext is arguably there, that’s close enough for me!

#6. Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo

Pure cute factor winning out!

I was having a hard time with the order of the 8-6. They’re three extremely different types of relationships, so it’s hard to set them next to each other and compare, but I think I made the right call.

Because this one was a relationship that was theorized about/anticipated by fans for the first two and a half seasons—spawning countless “Scootalove” stories and art to combat the “Scootabuse” going on at the time (our fandom has weird phases). So when it finally actually happened?

For even more context, I used to think that if Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo actually were sisters, Rainbow actually wouldn’t be all that kind to her. Lauren Faust originally thought Rainbow would make a bad sister, too (I think because there’s a difference between choosing a sister and having to grow up with one).

But, I think by that point in the series, Rainbow had matured enough to be that role model and big sister Scoots needed, which made it all the more satisfying to see! And ever since, Rainbow’s still managed to surprise us with how tender and genuinely open she’s willing to be with this little squirt of hers.

On the down side, I feel like Scoots has picked up a tiny bit of Dash’s ego since they started hanging out more, but it’s all worth it for the moments they now get to share.

#5. The Cakes and The Pies

This is such a cheat it’s not even funny. But, the reason I grouped them together is the main reason they’re both so adorable: their relationships with Pinkie Pie.

On the one hand, you’ve got the Cakes, a young couple who adopted this wandering party-planner into their home. Later, they were blessed with two, adorable, trouble-making twins who absolutely love Pinkie.

Technically, you could question whether or not they see Pinkie as family, but come on. Come on.

And on the other hand, there’s the Pies. Wow, they’re delightful! For a family as dull as dishwater, they’re really anything but with their unique personalities and unquestionable love for one and other. I’d love to see more of them! Special shoutout goes to Maud and Pinkie’s relationship, of course, because I don’t know if there’s anything cuter than how much they clearly love each other.

That’s some real cute stuff right there.

#4. Twilight and Spike

Are they mother and son? Sister and brother?

I don’t know if we’ll ever have their relationship defined beyond “number one assistant,” but dammit if they aren’t an adorable pair. Spike was Twilight’s first friend. Twilight raised Spike ever since he hatched.

Even now that Spike finally has a dragon friend in his homeland, there’s nothing that can erase the meaningful bond these two share. Heck, Spike’s worst fear is Twilight sending him away, not needing him anymore, but as she tells him in season 3 opener, there’s absolutely no chance of that fear coming to pass.

What could be cuter?

#3. The Apple Family

You knew they’d be pretty far up here, didn’t you? After all, what could be more adorable than a family who (for whatever reason) lost two central members and had to reform even stronger?

Check out Days Gone By for some proper Apple family feels, BECAUSE WOW. I don’t know about you, but finally getting to meet their parents in the upcoming season has me hyped! It’s currently unclear whether the deaths the staff have confirmed and hinted at in the show will be retconned or not, but I can’t help it after waiting for this for so long!

It’s especially cute because we know how important family has always been to the Apple clan, even before the parents left the picture. The Apple family spans all the way across Equestria, from sea to shining sea, and all of them love each other dearly.

Tight-knit is definitely the right word, and the more times we’ve explored the relationships in this family, the more we’ve seen why they value family so much. They’re all apples to the core.

#2. The Royal Sisters/ The Royal Family

This one’s sort of a catch-all, isn’t it? In fact three of the other families on this nonsensical list can qualify as different offshoots of the royal family. Shout-out to Twilight’s B.B.B.F.F!

If it bothers you, that’s fair, but even if we’re strictly talking about Luna and Celestia, they still easily steal this spot. Their story was the original backbone behind this series, the first redemption arc, and an on-going source of guilt and pain. After a thousand years, their reunion must’ve been so special for them, and I think we’ve found that out more and more in hindsight, getting to know how deeply they love each other and the complex emotions involved in their tragedy (turned comedy, I suppose).

I think that’s part of what makes these characters so enduring. But more on that soon… (in another editorial, and hopefully in season 7 with a Celestia episode!)

For our purposes here, it’s more than enough to see these two ruling together, with their subjects, their friends, and their family around them.

#1. The Mane Family

Seriously, how could I not?

Yes, yes, you may think this is the biggest cheat of them all, but hey, way back in season 2, Applejack referred to them as honorary family. I don’t see why it shouldn’t count.

The best part of all this is that everyone can define this family differently. Want to keep it just the mane 6 and Spike? Go for it! Think characters like Discord, Starlight, Sci-Twi and/or Sunset should be included? Sure! Who’s gonna stop you?

Sometimes the most important family in your life are the people you’re related to, but as the old saying goes “the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb”—meaning, sometimes it’s the family you choose that matters most.

And I think that’s what’s so special about this show, you know? The friendships in it can be as deep and meaningful as traditional family. That’s definitely something worth celebrating.

Family Appreciation Day x10

Okay. Let’s talk about the head pokes.

The first time this happened, we saw Viktor completely out of breath while Yuuri was still hanging in there, ready to keep going. Yuuri demonstrated here that his stamina is better than Viktor’s.

This was one of the first glimpses Yuuri had of his idol being flawed and demonstrating a weakness. He sees that Viktor is real and human instead of something out of reach and untouchable.

So that’s what Yuuri does. He touches Viktor. *poke poke* It’s like him saying, “Viktor Nikiforov is real. He’s standing right here in front of me, and … he’s just a person like me.”

It’s not meant as an insult. It’s the two of them on their way to seeing each other as equals.

I want to point this out as well. Viktor covers his own head after Yuuri pokes him because it makes him feel insecure. We’ll come back to this in a moment.

Let’s jump ahead to Episode 7 (click here).

The Road To Good Grades

[Warning - A Very Lengthy Post]

A fellow student of mine wrote this when for my batch when we entered high school, and I thought I should share it with you ❤️ it’s been edited to make it more universal to you guys :D

Intro: Having the Courage to Study.
When we fail academically, we tend to point to two causes: stupidity and laziness. It’s so easy to say that we’re not smart enough, or that we just don’t want to try because it doesn’t really matter. But there’s another factor involved: fear. So many students have the strategy of not studying or not studying properly for an exam. Why? Because if you put low effort into something, then you should expect a low result. So many of us are afraid of trying and failing that we don’t even try. “What if my best isn’t good enough?” We’re afraid of giving our best because once we know our limits, we feel that much weaker. But life in school isn’t about not trying, it’s about accepting those limits and breaking them.To survive and ultimately thrive, you must have the courage to reach your full potential. That courage, that vigor, that strive to be better is what will keep you alive, not just in school but in the real world.

- Sleep and Eat well.
We often lose sleep or skip meals in order to survive the rigors of life. But keep in mind, those choices in the rest and nourishment you receive have consequences. Having the energy to focus throughout the day is vital. Nobody wants to be tired, nobody can afford to be sick.

- Pay Attention in Class.
There’s a difference between passive hearing and active listening. Letting the teacher’s words wash over you like a warm shower is NOT the same as paying attention. Teachers are human beings, capable of expressing emotion and emphasis in their words and actions. There’s a reason why you learn from them rather than from a book or the internet. Catching what they’re trying to say is a skill that takes effort to learn.

**The skill of listening is one of the most important ones to develop because a teacher’s words are your last resort in an examination. If a quiz catches you by surprise, your memory of the class is the difference between A+ and an F.

- Take USABLE Notes.
Normally, humans are not capable of memorizing lessons entirely in their head. That’s what notes are for. Keep in mind that notes should be USABLE, they are not things that you make for the sake of looking or feeling productive. Each person has a specific style of learning and their notes should reflect that. Notes that are too long/elaborate, too short/simple, unreadable, or illogical are detrimental. Good notes should be aids in studying, not justification for carrying notebooks.

- Save time by using abbreviations or acronyms.
- Rearrange/reconstruct words or phrases for convenience.
ex. Famous Authors of America –> Impt. American Authors.
- Avoid copying verbatim unless necessary (quotes).
- Write down examples, esp. in science/math related subjects.
- If notes are incomplete, supplement them via reliable sources or your teacher.

- Practice.
There is more to studying than reading/note-taking. Practice is essential. This is especially true for Math-related subjects. Reading your notes before a Math exam is not really going to help you understand the problem or protect you from careless mistakes. The only way to improve in the subject is by doing the exercises and learning from both your success and failure. Memorizing definitions isn’t as important as using them. Being able to analyze, compare, and contrast is vital to survival.

- Review a Little Bit, Regularly.
Slow and steady wins the race. Students tend to read a ton of material before an exam. However, the human mind requires time in order to fully grasp ideas and concepts. Taking 10-20 minutes to read your notes after school daily can help in memorizing lessons, understanding themes, and recalling important points. Taking every subject’s lessons day by day will prevent you from being overwhelmed.

- When reading through your notes, picture yourself in the classroom with your classmates and teacher. The human mind is like a web, connected by images and sounds. Doing so can help you recall things written on the board or things mentioned by the teacher.

- Learn to Plan and Cram.
Working for the long-term and rushing for the short-term are two opposing ends of the spectrum. But if you don’t master both, you will suffocate in requirements.Time and energy are limited resources and the best scholars know how to get the most out of them. You can’t expect to be able to plan assignments weeks or days in advance the same way you can’t expect to make “academic excellence” in 30 minutes or less like a pizza delivery service.

- Periodic Exams, Long Tests, and Projects REQUIRE planning and coordination.
- Teachers can take up to 5 minutes setting up. Exploit the time.
- Lunchbreak, and the 20 minute breaks are the normal “"cram periods”“.

- Don’t Think of Difficulty.
“Easy” and “Hard” are relative terms. They mean different things to different people and ultimately, they should mean nothing to you. Feeling scared of a “tough” exam is harmful, as is feeling smug about an “easy” one. Study well so you can approach every test with confidence. Remember: it’s just as possible to perfect a difficult test as it is to fail an easy one.

- Don’t Compare Yourself to Others.
The world has approx. 7 billion people. There are always going to be people who are better than you at a given skill, the same way that there will always be people who are worse. Don’t consider them. Your life is your battle, and you’re going to have to fight it for yourself. Being discouraged by your friends’ high scores is as illogical as being encouraged by their low scores. There’s no reason to be proud of 1/10, even if it’s the highest score in the whole class.

- Don’t Blame Teachers.
Not all of your teachers are going to be fair or good at their jobs, whether you like it or not. Regardless, you can’t control your teacher’s incompetence or harshness but you can control the effort you put into their class. Read in advance, find other of info sources, and predict their requirements. The odds may be against you, but as a student you’re expected to beat them.

- Consult.
There’s no shame in asking for help. If you have difficulty in a subject, it always helps to consult with a teacher. Not only does it help in resolving any misconceptions/mistakes, it shows that you’re willing to take the time and effort to do well. To most teachers, that spirit is just as important as the final grade. Note: if a teacher knows that you have difficulty in their subject, they’ll probably take note of it in class which may be to your benefit.

- Find Your Own Strategy/Work Smart.
No single study strategy works universally. Everyone has their own specific style of learning and it’s up to you to find yours. If skimming through readings works for you then go ahead. If you’re the kind that needs to take notes, fine. It’s all about working both hard and smart, giving the most energy but finding the most effective way of using it. Humans are creative creatures. You might find that the best solution is one that no one has thought of before.

- Be Liable.
You need to be proactive in academics. Many students have the tendency to be caught off guard by a surprise quiz. They’ll often argue with the teacher, using the retort “Ma'am, you didn’t announce it!” as an excuse. Shaking off responsibility through ignorance is suicidal in this school. If you’re willing to take the risk of coming to class unprepared for the sake of being lazy, go ahead. Just be prepared for the consequences of your actions.

- Keep Moving Forward.
You’re human. Humans make mistakes. Learn from your errors but leave them where they belong; in the past. Everyone wants to get an A+ but you’ll never go that far with the weight of your failure hanging over your shoulder.

Conclusion: Don’t Take Academics too Seriously.
It seems counter-intuitive to end this guide with a statement like “Don’t Take Academics Too Seriously” but it’s something that everyone should remember. No matter no hard you try, you will fail at something. You’ll reach an obstacle that will knock you down to the ground and it will hurt like hell. You need to have something to fall back; friends, family, a hobby, an interest, etc. You don’t want to graduate and realize that you’re only good at earning numbers in a system. You could graduate this high school with the highest average in history but it won’t matter to anyone if you don’t know how you got it. Life is just like math, it’s not all
about the final answer. Your solution is just as important.

**Ultimately, your success as a scholar isn’t measured by a number on a piece of paper but in the difference you make in people’s lives. We’re not going to carry facts and theorems with us, but an attitude of trying to give our best no matter what the cost. That’s the most important lesson you can ever learn in school, but you’re not going to learn it from one subject or teacher. You’re going to live it everyday through every requirement and every grade receive.

I swear to god, if Lena somehow comes out of everything as a villain, it’ll be one of the most underwhelming bullshit that’ll ever come out of anything. Like, it isn’t going to be a betrayal that’s going to shock you, just leave you entirely disappointed because yet another character with so much potential is reduced to the stereotype of their name. I need a legitimately surprising plot twist if there ever will be one. No cheap deaths, no “a villain after all” bullshit. Just a genuinely surprising HOLY SHIT THAT HAPPENED plot twist that nobody really thought could ever happen.

Yang: So… Sun too, huh?

Blake: Yang.

Yang: I’m just making sure! Is it cause we’re blondes?

Blake: Yang.

Yang: I mean, this whole black cat thing is cute but-

Blake: Don’t-

Yang: -statistically speaking that’s now two injured blondes and-

Blake: Why are you still talking-

Yang: -I kinda wanna know if my dad will lose a leg or something-

Blake: What.

Yang: when you finally meet him cause that would suck since

Yang: I kinda wanted to do the whole “walking down the isle” thing

Yang: for our wedding and it’d look silly if he had to hop to give me away

Blake: Did you just.. propose to me in a roundabout way?

Yang: Is that a yes or no

Blake: To the limb losing or the marriage proposal?

Yang: Yes

to think it’s been 7 years since these two met at manchester piccadilly and began making their shared impact on the world, it’s incredible.

it’s the seventh anniversary of dan and phil meeting, so i decided to make this to celebrate the occasion. :)

Kara is going to tell Lena she’s Supergirl, but things take an unexpected turn

Kara: “Alright! So I wanted to see you because… there’s something I need to tell you.”
Lena: “Should I be worried?”
Kara: “No! Well, I… hope not??”
Lena: “Oh, please, Kara: don’t be too reassuring.”
Kara: “Look, I… We’ve been friends from a good while now, and I care about you… a lot.”
Lena: “Okay… Okay, me too. I think I made it pretty clear by now. So what’s… what’s wrong?”
Kara: “Nothing, but…”
Kara: *sighs*
Kara: “I can’t keep this for myself anymore.”
Lena: “…”
Kara: “I haven’t told this to many people in my life. I just recently started opening up a little, but it’s… hard to trust. You never know how they’re gonna react, how they’re gonna take or how things will change as soon as I say the words… Ugh, God, I must sound completely insane right now.”
Lena: “You don’t, I’m just… surprised to be hearing this.”
Kara: “Believe me, I’ve been meaning to tell you sooner, but… I just value our friendship so much, I-I’ve been afraid to… ruin everything, and-”
Lena: “You’re not ruing anything, Kara. I think I know what you’re trying to tell me.”
Kara: “You… You do??”
Lena: “Yes. Actually, I suspected so a few times, but I thought it was just my imagination.”
Kara: “Hah, well, I can see why you thought so. I try really hard to not to show it.”
Lena: *leans over*
Lena: “Well, there’s no reason to play pretend anymore, don’t you think?”
Kara: “Y-yeah. So, I’m just… gonna say it? I’m just gonna say it. Lena, I’m S-”
Lena: *kisses Kara*
Kara: “…”
Kara: “Oh… Ohhh! You- I- Haha! I mean-”
Kara: *coughs*
Kara: “Didn’t see that coming.”
Lena: “Are you… alright, Kara?”
Kara: “Me? Pfft, I’m fine! I’m great, I’m fine!”
Lena: “You don’t… You don’t seem fine.”
Kara: “Haha, you know, that was… that was…”
Kara: *gulps*
Kara: “Can you… Can you repeat that last part?  ‘Cause, the acoustics in here is… horrible.”
Lena: “The… The acoustics? Kara, what the-”
Kara: *kisses Lena*
Lena: “…”
Lena: “Horrible acoustics.”
Kara: “Horrible acoustics.”

the 100 au: minty’s always been a thing (even back in season 1)

You know what I really really want to see?

Emma and Killian laughing.

Remember her giggles at magicking away his hook? Remember her giggles when he told her to keep the red leather jacket on? Remember his giggles at her smothering him in kisses post resurrection?

I want to see more stuff like that.

I want them to share whispers that make the other chuckle.

I want them to find something so funny that they can’t keep the laughter in and one of them ends up full on belly laughing.

I want them to be so wrapped up in their little inside jokes that Snow gives them a suspicious look and a “what are you two up to?”

I want them to share a knowing look that makes the other smirk or snort and everyone around them just rolls their eyes.

Because they’re not just true loves, they’re not just partners…

They’re also best friends.

sansaregina’s 14 days of christmas

@cosmonauthill: “She pictured the two of them sitting together in a garden with puppies in their laps, or listening to a singer strum upon a lute while they floated down the Mander on a pleasure barge. If I give him sons, he may come to love me. She would name them Eddard and Brandon and Rickon, and raise them all to be as valiant as Ser Loras. And to hate Lannisters, too. In Sansa’s dreams, her children looked just like the brothers she had lost. Sometimes there was even a girl who looked like Arya.”

YOI Fandom, consider this

You know what I want? Not an OVA, but a movie. Something like “Road to Grand Prix Final: The Untold Story”. Not this GPF, but the GPF BEFORE Victuri met. I want to see past Yuuri, when he was good but not yet great. I want to see the little piglet slayed the national and two other cups to make it to GPF. I want to see the Yuuri Minami idolized. I want to see the old costumes Ciao Ciao picked for him (the man has great taste, just look at Phichit). I want to see some Detroit time. I want to see Yuuri’s legendary Lohengrin. I want to see his Junior years. I want to see the top-6-skaters-in-the-world Yuuri.
And what can be better if they show Victor’s past to mirror Yuuri’s too? Like “How I Met Your Mother” and “How Your Mother Met Me” sort of thing. I just want to see more Victor’s skating damn it (long haired Victor FTW). I want to see the program Victor wore the Eros costume (you know, the one that made Yuuri gay for him). I want to see the genius before he became lonely. I want to see he met Makkachin for the first time. I want to know Victor’s back story.
All in all I want to see the long and bumpy roads those two had to travel before they found each other.

This isn’t a TC blog buuuuuut, I figured I’d say something to maybe give you guys some hope.
I met my teacher when I was 15 and he was 31. Twice my age. We got too close and people started noticing we were always together. He never touched me, or flirted with me, or did any of that. He kept it professional and helped me through my issues.
Then he got fired for our friendship.
And he waited two and a half years for me to turn 18 so we could reconnect. He literally just wanted to make sure I was okay, because the last time we had actually talked, I was in the hospital for a suicide attempt.
So I got back in touch, I owe this man my life, he’s the reason I’m alive. And turns out he’s in love with me and just yesterday, on his 34th birthday, we made it official.
There’s hope for you guys. There was for me :)

Gah! All this time and I still don’t know how to find old posts. So, forgive me I’ll have to repeat myself.

My stand has long been that the true triumph would not be to just deliver these two as a queer fait a complit. Rather, Mofftiss have to make their mass audience actively want this pair of hearts united together so the world can be put to rights. The master stroke is to get as many viewers as possible finding themselves -even against their own latent prejudices - hoping for it. And that would be something truly groundbreaking in prime time tv. And even now on the cusp of 2017 it’s a cultural gamble. This is where “softly, softly” is put to the true test.

And for that to happen we would need an obstacle. A serious emotionally driven obstacle that the audience will want - need - to see overcome. Something that will make the story seem at odds if it doesn’t happen - turning the audience into the boy listening to his grandfather read The Princess Bride, willing our heroes back together where they belong. Because that is how every straight romantic drama ever works.

It’s not enough for us to want it. The casual viewer would have to want it too and to realize that that’s what they should want, that this is the very same story they’ve been seeing from the start but they just didn’t know it. They were blinded by their own assumptions to all the clues. “Harry is my sister.” “There’s always something.” That’s what the audience need to experience for themselves. And not to feel like idiots and impressed mentally but instead to want this story to *emotionally* be made right.

For me, this was never about us on here getting what *we* want. That just doesn’t go far enough. We need a leap forward into new queer territory than something that can be dismissed as fan service. And if you are going to up-end 130 years of literary history, our storytellers need to win a whole lot more people out there. They first need to make the viewer care. A lot. And then have them anxious and wanting resolution. If it’s “not a ship but the plot” then it demands that the everyviewer has to need it resolved *before* it can be delivered.
If that’s not the endgame? Then the Dads are seriously less ambitious than I have counted ‘em being.

With one word, the stage for all that is set…
