i just want to write and not work and not do anything besides sleep and read

december 31st, 2015, 10:23 pm: i saw you for the first time. you were talking to a girl and i could tell that you were capturing her with every syllable that left your mouth. and i knew why: you were beautiful and bright, and i was drawn to you even then, like the planets are drawn to the sun.

december 31st, 2015, 11:58 pm: we met standing in line for the bathroom. you introduced yourself, and asked for my name, smiling when i gave it. “lovely,” you murmured, and repeated it a few more times, rolling the letters around in your mouth like a new food.

january 1st, 2016, 12:05 am: i could still feel you on me, your lips, minutes, hours, months later. the clock had struck midnight and you just grabbed me, didn’t ask if it was okay until it was over. you were laughing, brushing it off, all teeth and well-kissed lips, but i knew i saw you blushing.

january 21st, 2016, 1:12 pm: you got my number through the mutual friend that threw the party. i still don’t know how you got my address. i didn’t remember telling you. you couldn’t tell me, either.

february 14th, 2016, 9:12 pm: you took me out to dinner and bought me chocolate and roses. it was all so cliche, and i loved every second of it. when you kissed me good night, i swore i could feel the rest of my life, pressed right up against my lips.

february 26th, 2016, 11:33 pm: we made it official. i remember how you asked me, how shy you got, like you didn’t know what the answer would be.

march 17th, 2016, 5:43 pm: we spent the day at the saint patrick’s day parade, and you filled yourself with beer and kissed me hard against the bar bathroom door. i drove you home and that was the first time you told me you loved me.

march 18th, 2016, 9:24 am: you called me and told me you loved me again. “i want to make sure that you know i still mean it when i’m sober,” you said.

march 24th, 2016, 1:09 pm: i met your parents at easter brunch. you had demanded i come with you, and i was glad i did. your mother was kind and beautiful, and your father was warm and handsome, just like i knew they’d be. after we’d eaten, your mother got me alone. “he’s never brought a girl home before,” she told me, “normally he isn’t very open about who he’s dating. but you, you’re different. don’t read into this, but i think he may really think you’re special.”

april 12th, 2016, 8:31 pm: you saw me naked for the first time, and you kissed every inch of my skin. i’d never felt that much love from anybody before that night, and i haven’t since. not even you could replicate those few hours.

may 5th, 2016, 4:57 pm: we fought for the first time. i ran into my ex at the grocery store and wanted to chat for a few minutes. you didn’t. when we got in the car, you told me that if i was still in love with somebody else i could just leave, and i told you that you should trust me and not be so insecure about our relationship. we screamed the whole way home and you slammed the car door when i dropped you off. i almost crashed three times on the drive home.

may 6th, 2016, 8:03 am: you came by with flowers and breakfast. “I’m sorry,” you told me, “you just mean so much to me, and the thought of you ever being anyone else’s makes me sick.” i smiled, “but you don’t have to worry about that now. i’m yours.”

june 16th, 2016, 10:51 pm: for my birthday you took me out to dinner and gave me a beautiful necklace with a silver chain and pearl pendant. we drank expensive wine and stumbled back to my place and fucked. i had never been fucked before, not like this. i woke up the next morning with bite marks on my neck and hickeys all the way down my stomach, but you were gone. “had to run,” you’d written on a post it note, “i love you.”

june 18th, 2016, 2: 41 pm: i hadn’t seen you since my birthday and you weren’t picking up when i’d call.

june 19th, 2016, 3:13 am: “ had to run,” the post it note had said. maybe you were running from me. i couldn’t tell if it was the 3 am darkness talking or the part of me that already knew.

july 1st, 2016, 4:01 am: i looked over at you, sleeping in the darkness beside me. when we were together, things felt perfectly normal. but now, i could feel the shifts. “are we falling apart?” i whispered to you, and although i hadn’t expected an answer, the silence broke my heart all the same.

july 4th, 2016, 6:47 pm: we were at a barbecue and i saw you across the crowd, talking to a girl. i saw the way she was drinking up every word that escaped from between your lips, and that’s when i knew. that’s when i knew you weren’t mine anymore.
july 21st, 2016, 7:08 pm: i brought it up to you. “i think we’re starting to grow apart,” i said, “there’s a distance between us that wasn’t here before.” you reassured me that it was all in my head, but i didn’t hear it in your voice. i didn’t see it in your eyes. you knew it was there, too, but unlike me, you weren’t trying to do anything to stop it.

august 10th, 2016, 11:37 pm: i lay awake and thought about what your mother said, all these months later. “don’t read into this.” but of course i did. i couldn’t help myself. fuck, i loved you so much.
august 15th, 2016, 1:12 pm: you invited me over and i discovered that the key you’d given me no longer worked. “i had the locks changed,” you said, “i’ll get you a new one.” it was a lie, and i knew it. you didn’t get me a new key.

september 8th, 2016, 2:00 pm: i caught you cheating. in a desperate attempt to revive the romance we’d had at the beginning of our relationship, i bought dinner and brought it to your place. when you finally opened the door, i saw it written all over your face; the way your eyes widened, the way your jaw dropped, the way your cheeks drained of color. i heard it in the stammer of your voice, the sharp intake of your breath, the grinding of your teeth. when the girl walked up behind you, half naked, asking who it was at the door, i already knew. “how could you?” i whispered, and you just opened and closed your mouth. the girl pieced it together and started screaming. she hadn’t known. i left the food at the doorstep.

september 10th, 2016, 1:49 am: you never called after that, never came by, never reached out, but it wasn’t like we’d needed to confirm anything. i knew it was over, but it took every ounce of willpower i had not to go back to your place and find out why, why everything.

september 27th, 2016, 6:20 pm: i kept finding myself huddled in a ball; in my bedroom, in my kitchen, in my shower. not crying, or yelling. just huddled, clutching my body close to myself, staring. still not understanding.

october 31st 2016, 9:01 pm: i spent halloween haunted by the ghost of you. your face was around every corner. i could still feel your touch trickling down my spine. that night, i lost it. the anger surged through the sadness and bubbled to the surface. i screamed until my throat was raw, screamed at nothing, about nothing, for no reason other than i was too full.

november 10th, 2016, 2:17 am: you called me when you were drunk and i answered. i listened to you ramble, vomiting up apology after apology. near the end, you told me you loved me. “call me tomorrow when you’re sober if you still love me,” i said.  you didn’t.

november 25th, 2016, 7:15 pm: i went out on a date with somebody new. they didn’t pull me in like you did, but for a few hours, i forgot about you and i felt okay. i drank myself to sleep that night so i wouldn’t have to think about you. the next morning, the hangover hurt more than you did. it was a start.

december 24th, 2016, 8:12 pm: i was spending christmas with my family, and i was doing great until my aunt asked about you. i told her you cheated, but i was doing okay, and then i excused myself and threw up the appetizers into the toilet. i called you then, and when you picked up, i let out a sob. “you ruined me, you fuck,” i croaked, “and you can’t even apologize. not when you’re sober, at least.” there were a few seconds of silence, and then you hung up. i still hope that it ruined your christmas.

december 31st, 2016, 10:23 pm: i saw you for the first time in months across the crowd. it made me sick to know that even after all that had happened, you were still the most beautiful person in the room to me.

december 31st, 2016, 11:55 pm: you found me in the kitchen. “i wanted to tell you i’m sorry,” you yelled over the music, “and i miss you.” and in those final moments of the year, i thought about it. i thought about letting you back in. the countdown started, and you moved closer to me. and i.. i pushed you away. i turned away from you and said, “no. i can’t.” and i walked out of the room.

january 1st, 2017, 12:05 am: i have forgotten how you felt against me, your lips. and for the first time, i am finally okay with that.

How To: Develop Your Characters

I think we’ve all been in the situation where we want to write about a specific character but have no idea how to approach it. For some reason, despite them being your own character, you have no idea how they would act or what they would say in a certain situation. Sometimes, if you even write about your character(s) at all, when you read it back they seem fake or 2-Dimensional. Unrealistic, if you’d prefer.

In this post, I am going to give you some exercises to get past hollow characters and help develop your writing.

1) Empty Their Pockets

Pretty simple. Think of what your characters would have in their pockets on a day-to-day basis. It doesn’t have to be anything super extraordinary, of course. Just start writing some everyday items down and think about whether your character would have these items in their pockets.

Let’s take a look at one I did for my characters earlier. (sorry that just sounded like something from Blue Peter)

For example:

Character A’s Pockets Contained:

pack of gum, empty pack of cigarettes, library card, NOKIA brick phone

So, here a few things you can tell about Character A simply through the items in their pockets. They visit the library often, meaning that they probably have a high interest in reading (this also could be a sign of intelligence). Judging by the fact Character A has both a pack of gum and cigarettes this could indicate a potential smoking habit, chewing gum is a known way for helping people quit smoking. The pack of cigarettes could show that they are not very good at restricting themselves and could in fact be addicted and finding it hard to cope with smoking. Finally, the NOKIA brick phone shows how they may want to feel connected to people or want to allow their friends/family members/whoever to be able to contact them but have no desire to get the latest model of phone or perhaps believe that having such a device would distract them unnecessarily.

When doing this exercise, think about key objects which portray certain details about your character! Try not to overthink it too much, write whatever comes to mind and put it down on the page! After writing down a couple objects, go back through them and feel free to edit out items you think are unnecessary or add items which you think would suit the character.

2) Go Through Their Daily Routine

Again, another easily explained exercise. Go through a regular day in your character’s life, try and do this exercise as if it was happening before whatever events occur in your story or novel. This way it makes it easier to understand your character before they met a secondary character in the novel or before whatever events happened in your writing which may affect their routine. You don’t need to include every single detail in your description, just brief notes or key events which occur during their day would be fine. You can make it as short or as long as you wish, maybe don’t just do it for one day in your character’s week perhaps do it for multiple days.

Does their routine change during the week? What time do they wake up? What time do they go to sleep? Are they punctual with going to work? Do they do any other activities outside their day-job? These are the kind of things you may want to ask yourself when writing it.

3) Give Them Fears/Phobias

Everyone fears something: whether it be a phobia of spiders or oblivion, everyone has a fear. Giving your character a phobia makes them seem more realistic, it allows your reader to easily relate to your character.

However, just having a phobia for the sake of it doesn’t help develop your character at all. If you give them a terrible phobia of snakes and they come across a snake and suddenly within moments are able to get over their fear just like that, it’s not a phobia. It’s more of a mild inconvenience than anything else. The reader needs to feel convinced by their fears, they would feel more dissatisfied with your writing if they felt the character could dismiss anything and everything than knowing them being confronted by their fears could be a possible problem. Besides, it would give them no reason to motivate or encourage the character if they knew it was impossible for them to be defeated by anything. Still, this does not mean that your character has to be destroyed by their fear. There is a very big difference between simply dismissing your character’s fear and perhaps overcoming it in the future.

An easy way to write your character possibly overcoming their fear in the future is that when they first encounter that fear, add an element of chance or fate into it. For example, if a character were to move to get away from the creature which may be coming towards them; in the process of getting up, they could slip which could cause their legs to lash out towards the creature. The sudden movement may just be enough to scare the creature away, this way it does not appear to the reader as ridiculous or uncharacteristic courage but instead accidental bravery. This sudden revelation that the character’s horrible fear may not be as all powerful as they first thought could be the first step for them to slowly overcome that fear.

Don’t believe me? Let’s think about this for a moment. Imagine your character, let’s call them the Protagonist™, is stuck in a terrible situation. It doesn’t matter what the situation is but let’s say it’s something which involves them being trapped in a room with a snake. I’m going to give you two examples, both involving the same situation.

Example #1:

Protagonist watched with wide eyes as the snake slowly slithered towards them. The snake paused for a moment, it hissed lowly as it waited for Protagonist to move, waiting for the right moment to strike.  Not hesitating for a single moment, they suddenly realised how dire the situation was and jumped to their feet. Their heart pumping wildly as their body was filled with adrenaline, they were terrified yet they had to do something. Protagonist grabbed the nearest thing to them and stepped towards the snake.

“Get away!” They threatened, “Get away!”

Example #2:

Protagonist watched with wide eyes as the snake slowly slithered towards them. The snake paused for a moment, it hissed lowly as it waited for Protagonist to move, waiting for the right moment to strike. The blood in Protagonist’s veins ran cold as the snake grew closer and closer, Protagonist couldn’t move. They begged and screamed on the inside to move away, to get away as far as possible. They had lost all control of their movement, their fear had consumed them. They were frozen to the spot and could only watch as the snake widened it’s jaw, ready to bite down on it’s prey. It widened it’s jaw once, twice - suddenly, Protagonist gained back their instincts. Fleeing seemed like the only realistic option and seconds before the snake could chomp down on their ankle, Protagonist stumbled to their feet. They stumbled backwards into a puddle of water which had pooled behind them and their ankle rolled as they slipped, their legs accidentally lashing out towards the predator. The snake recoiled backwards in shock before deciding that the risk wasn’t worth it: it quickly retreated back to it’s nest, disappearing from Protagonist’s view.

Now, hopefully you see what I mean. I think we can all agree that the second example is a lot better than the first one.

4) Create Their Flaws/Bad Habits

No one is perfect, this includes your characters.

If you’re finding it challenging to think of any flaws, try to think of some bad habits. It doesn’t have to be anything so terribly bad that’s it’s illegal. Think simple when it comes to this exercise. It can range from anything between chewing their nails to swearing.

It might help to try and develop these bad habits into possible flaws or weaknesses. If your character keeps biting their nails that might be a sign of nervousness or anxiety. So, creating bad habits might be a good way to show a certain trait your character may possess.

Flaws are important as well. Let’s be realistic, if no character had any flaws then every single book we read would be filled with a bunch of characters which are exactly the same. Besides, what’s a hero without it’s villain?

So, to give you a few ideas, let’s go back to superheroes. Maybe a hero is so set on doing the right thing that they lose sight of what they want? Perhaps it gets to a certain point where they can’t handle that hollow feeling inside of them that they grow arrogant, selfish or even stubborn? There’s a story for you right there.

Not only that, by giving your characters flaws it is possible that you could work that into your story somehow. This way, not only will you get to show off your amazing character development, but it could also be an exciting point in your storyline.

Write down some ideas, think of flawed personality traits and just write them down! Try to write down at least five straight off the bat, for each one you don’t like you should think about why it doesn’t suit your character. You’re bound to find one flaw you’re happy with!

5) Write Some Scenarios

Now that you’ve developed your characters, go ahead and write them in your story! If you think you still need a bit of practice, try writing something about them being in a certain scenario. It could be anything from ordering their favourite coffee to being trapped in a prison: just write it! Try not to think about it too much, just do whatever feels write (I unintentionally made that pun but i’m not deleting it).

It doesn’t have to be long either, just a couple paragraphs would be fine. Try to focus on body movements and interior thoughts, it would be ideal if your character was on their own in the situation: that way you can get to know the character on their own a lot better. No other characters means no distractions. It’s just you, the wonderful author, and your character - there is an endless amount of possibilities for you!

Have faith in yourself too! Nobody knows your brilliantly developed characters better than you do, so here’s your chance to show them off! If you’d like a second opinion, write something about them and give it to a friend/parent/random stranger etc. to read! If they don’t want to, make them read it anyway!

I hope this helps you all in developing your characters!

Happy writing!

love letters ❥ peter parker

summary : peter, hopeless romantic that he is, has a cache of love letters, all addressed to you, hidden under his bed and expertly crafted. he never anticipated them being read, or the feelings he has for you being returned.

word count : 3.1k (holy fucking hell i’m sorry)

Peter couldn’t help it, the way that he was. He was a romantic at a heart, though the awkwardness of him had a tendency to prevail rather than the confident, smooth talking, small part of him that had a desperate desire to reveal itself. Spider-man was as suave as a fifteen year old boy could be; Peter Parker was awkward, inept at participating in normal, human conversation and often incapable of forming coherent sentences more often than not. He wasn’t the best at talking to people besides Ned and Aunt May and- on occasion- Tony Stark. Especially not you. If there was one person that he turned into an absolute bumbling, ridiculous mess around, it was you. He loathed himself for it, sure that you thought that he was weird, annoying, the same way that anyone who didn’t know him assumed he was.

Ned, however, continuously insisted that you found Peter to be a sweetheart, like anyone who got to know him well enough did, and that you liked him very much- perhaps more than a friend, though Peter had immediately scoffed at the notion. It was out of the question, downright ludicrous. But, of course, Ned had implanted the idea in Peter’s head, and now the boy’s ever creative mind refused to stop constructing various scenarios in which you were Peter’s girlfriend and he was as happy as he had ever been.

While he had been a perfectly charming boyfriend in each and every one of those little dream sequences of his, he was hopelessly lost for words whenever you approached him, unable to even ask what class you had next, let alone reveal the pure adoration he had been holding on to ever since you had been placed beside him in Bio in your freshman year. You had always been the one to stick up for him and smile at him and treat him like a decent human being, and so of course he fell for you, and now he could barely look you in the eye without his cheeks turning a lovely shade of pink. So, he bottled his feelings and let them out in a way he had never known could help him.

    He wrote.

He wrote to you every single day and poured his heart out in every single letter and expressed every thought he knew, in his heart, he would never be able to say out loud. Writing what he felt was so much simpler than saying the words out loud. That was what he assumed, anyhow. He took his pen and placed it down on the paper, starting it the same way he always did.

Dear Y/N… As always, the words spilled over from his mind to the paper as if he wasn’t thinking, just writing and writing and writing until he had filled two pages without lifting his curly head from the paper once. When he finally finished, a yawn stretching across his mouth, he noticed Aunt May standing outside his door. He turned his chair around, raising his eyebrows at her.

“Writing to that pretty girl again?” She asked, hand on her hip but wearing a knowing, soft grin. Peter, not bothering to feign shock, nodded solemnly and placed his pen down the paper. “You should think about maybe, oh I don’t know, actually giving her one of the letters you’ve written?”

Adamantly, Peter shook his head. “May, I could never. You don’t get it.” He swiveled around in the chair, spinning it until he was dizzy. “These letters are embarrassing. They’re practically my whole heart and soul on a piece of paper. She’d scream and run away if she read how I felt about her.” He sighed, placing his elbow on the edge of the desk and resting his cheek in his hand. He stared up at his aunt, still craving her sage advice. May stared back at him thoughtfully.

“Well, in my personal experience,” she came over and gave Peter’s shoulder a squeeze, eyeing the letter that was signed with Peter’s name, “girls are suckers for love letters. And you Parker men write the best ones out there. Trust me.”

Peter bit his lip. “Yeah, sure, I’m not an awful writer. But, I still can’t give them to her. I just can’t.” Before she could say anything else, he was folding it up and placing it on top of the shelf on his desk next to his books for English. “Uncle Ben was different. He was charming. You know that.”

    May smiled wistfully. “I do.”

“And that’s one thing that I didn’t get from him,” Peter finished, shrugging his shoulders as he stood up from his swivel chair. “It’s fine.” He waved it off. “I’m happy suffering in silence. I’m gonna go to bed. Big English project starts tomorrow. Love you,” he kissed May on the cheek as she left his bedroom, switching the light off in her departure. He stared at the wall once he was situated in bed, mulling the conversation over in his head. Maybe May’s right. Maybe telling Y/N wouldn’t be as bad as I’m thinking. Maybe I’m overreacting. Actually, never mind. She probably hates me. Ugh. Life sucks.

That morning, when he arrived in his English class, you were sitting in the seat that had been previously occupied by Ned pretty much every class since the beginning of the school year. Sucking in a breath, Peter took his first step into the classroom. He knew he was a little late to today’s lesson, but he hadn’t realized he was a full fifteen minutes behind schedule. Ned was in the back with Michelle, giving Peter an encouraging thumbs up when he noticed his best friend finally arrive on the scene. Peter gave him the finger.

“Mr. Parker, lovely for you to join us!” Ms. Matthews declared when he decided to shove himself through the door, his heart jackhammering away in his chest and making its way up to his throat. He kind of wanted to throw up.

“Um, yeah, well, you know, sleep and whatnot- overslept, haha,” he coughed out a laugh, scratching the back of his neck. The teacher nodded with faux sympathy, though he could tell she didn’t care that much for his explanation. “I’ll just, um, sit. Down.”

“Next to Y/N, please,” She instructed, waving her hand in your direction. “Since you were late and unable to choose your own partner, surprising since usually Ned is so eager to work with you, Y/N offered to be your partner.” The teacher gave you a fond smile, as every teacher did. “She can explain the details of the assignment.”

Peter gave her a stiff nod before sliding into his chair, and you noticed how rigid he was as he turned toward you with a slight frown. He seemed extremely upset to be working with you, but you wouldn’t let that get in the way. You liked Peter. Really, truly liked him. He was a sweetie whenever he actually talked to and different than the rest of the guys at Midtown. He was genuine.

Giving him your full attention, you beamed at him. “Hey, Peter,” you said cheerfully. He gave you a small smile in return, wringing his hands under the desk. He couldn’t stop fidgeting. Your own smile dropped, which he noticed immediately and felt awful about. “Sorry you didn’t get paired up with Ned,” you continued, taking your books out of your shoulder bag. “I know you would’ve preferred it that way-”

“No!” He interrupted quickly, practically slamming his hands down on the desk so hard you jumped in your seat, eyes wide. “Sorry, sorry, I just, um,” he laughed a little, his cheeks burning, “I’m, um, happy to have you as a partner. Really, I am,” he added as an afterthought, just to make sure you knew.

Your shoulders relaxed as you looked at him. “You’re not just saying that, right? You seem awfully stiff,” you teased, poking his uncomfortably positioned arm as you quirked a brow.

“Do I?” He was practically sweating.

“I was just joking, Pete. It’s cute, anyway.” Peter’s eyes, a shade of brown that you had come to think of as warm as honey, went wide and he gaped at you, but you pretended not to notice. “So, for the assignment we have to write a short story based on one of the assigned reading books this year.”

   She called me cute

“Shit… I think I forgot all of mine,” you were mumbling, your head practically stuck in your bag. “Did your bring yours, Peter?”

Oh my god, she thinks I’m cute. She thinks I’m cute. I’m going to faint

You snapped your fingers in front of his cherry red face, trying not to appear as amused as you felt. He blinked owlishly, an apologetic half smile, half grimace on his face. He was cute most of the time, but especially when he smiled, even if it was only a forced, awkward one. “Do you have your books, Peter?” You repeated kindly.

“Um, sorry, I’ll check,” he answered, embarrassed about his utterly obvious staring that had just occurred. He rummaged around in his backpack before realizing he had forgotten them, as well. He popped back up, curls in disarray as his head brushed against the fabric of his bag. “I forgot them, sorry,” he ran a hand through his hair, messing it up even more. It was kind of adorable.

“You need to stop apologizing for everything, Pete,” you laughed. “It’s fine. We can get started after school. My place or yours?” You were already packing your things, and before he could think about what he was about to do, he said, “Mine.”

“Cool,” you grinned again, a grin that made him want to smile for the rest of his life. “Which one of is doing the writing? Or do you want to split it?”

“You’re a, um, fantastic writer,” he told you, having read your submissions to the school newspaper more times than he could count. “If you wanna take over, you can. I can edit and stuff.”

“Aw, I’m not that good,” you shook your head abashedly, looking down at your lap. “But thank you, Peter. I’m sure you’re great, too, though. Are you sure you don’t wanna write some of it?”

“I’m not much of a writer.”

So, you were in Peter Parker’s room. He was having his third heart attack of the day, and was incredibly grateful that he had managed to keep his wits about him for majority of the day. He had only tripped over his words five times, tripped literally twice, and dropped his Metro card once, but it was fine. You helped him back each time he fell with your usual grace, barely acknowledging his multiple social faux pas and only laughing once because he fell over a small dog- which even he would admit was pretty funny.

Still, his palms were sweaty around you and he didn’t know how he was going to survive working so close to you for the next week while the English assignment was occurring. He lead you into his apartment and you noticed that his hands were shaking slightly as he twisted the keys in the lock. You walked into the apartment, the first thing crossing your mind was how cozy and homelike it was. You liked it very much.

“It’s really cute in here,” you said, smiling around the room as Peter busied himself with a glass of water. He downed it quickly. “Where’s your aunt?”

“Work,” he replied, catching his breath after the gulping down of his water. “Here, let’s go to my room.” He placed his glass of water on the counter and motioned for you to follow him, opening the door to his room and wincing at the mess in there. “It’s a mess, sorry about that.”

You rolled your eyes at him playfully. “Didn’t I say stop apologizing?” You entered his room as if you had been there many times before, taking your shoes off and setting them by the door. You threw your bag on his bed and took a seat in his swivel chair, and he liked how natural it seemed for you to be in his room. He liked how comfortable you were, sitting there. Something about it made him happy.

“Yeah, my bad,” he shrugged. You tilted your head, pointing your finger at him while he raised his hands defensively. “It wasn’t technically an apology!” He took a step out of the room. He was finally being normal around you, he realized delightedly. He would still need more water, though. He could feel his mouth getting dry. “I’m gonna get more water. Want anything?” You shook your head, spinning around in the chair as he left.

Your eyes scanned over his desk, taking in every inch of Peter Parker’s life. He had bad books stacked everywhere, his desk was a mess, there were clothes thrown about the room. Star Wars posters, Avengers posters, notes scattered across the desk. You admired the artful messiness of it all. You leaned up to where his English books were, spotting the one you were most interested in and yanking it off the shelf. As you did, a folded piece of paper fluttered down off the shelf, just when Peter was walking back into the room.

“I thought you said you weren’t a writer, Pete,” you raised your eyebrows at him, holding the letter in your hand and waving it at him.

He almost threw up right there. “Um, I’m not, please give that back,” he reached for it, but you jumped out of the chair, raising the letter high in the air. “Y/N!” He whined, grabbing for it again. “C’mon, please,” he pleaded desperately, pouting at you with such intensity it almost made you want to give it to him.

“Can’t I just read a sentence, Peter?” You pushed out your bottom lip, batting your eyelashes at him.

He almost gave in. “No, Y/N. Seriously, give it back.” He sounded scared now, upset as well. You pursed your lips, handing it back to him. He was so anxious about you reading it that it dropped on the floor, opening far enough so that you could see your name scrawled across the top in Peter’s defining chicken scratch handwriting.

“That says my name, so now I have to read it.” You stood directly in front of Peter, hands pressed together in a pleading motion, the expression on your face so genuinely interested that he had to give it to you. He picked it back up with a lump in his throat and handed it over, scared as ever. But this was what May had advised. Maybe she’d be right.

“Dear Y/N,” you read aloud in a loud, terrible accent, glancing back up at Peter as you read the line after that. He was staring down at the floor, preparing himself for what you were going to say when you read the letter, read his heart. You sat in his chair, realizing it’d be better if you didn’t read it so publicly. He sat down on his bed, waiting.

Dear Y/N. This is maybe the tenth letter I’ve written to you, and each time I say the same thing, so if one day you are reading this in proper succession, I’m sorry for being so utterly repetitive. You’ll probably never read this, though. And that’s why it’s so easy for me to write. I think you’re the only person to ever truly be interested in me when I’m talking about science. Not even Ned has an attention span that long. But you do. And you don’t know how much I want to thank you for that. You make it really difficult to not like you, to not be in love with you. I think that’s what it is… love. And if I’m not in love with you yet, then I’m certainly falling for you. Who wouldn’t? You’re a wonderful person without trying, you’re a beautiful hurricane, a sunset on the horizon of my bleakest hours, and you make me feel as if I’ve been standing in the sunshine for my entire life.

You put the letter down, smoothing it over your lap. You didn’t need to read the rest. That was enough. Peter gazed at you now, the way you’ve yearned to be looked at before, and you shamed yourself for being so blind these past two years. He wasn’t simply just staring. He was looking. Admiring. You slid next to Peter, placing the letter behind you. He moved his hand, curling his fingers around yours tentative as ever. Your free hand grazed up the side of his face, toying with the hair on the back of his neck before resting on his cheek. He shut his eyes. When he opened them again, you were so close that he was able to count each individual eyelash that you had, every single fleck of pure beauty in your deep eyes.

“I like you very much, Peter Parker,” you murmured. He felt his heart soar, and then, he felt himself kiss you. It was an out of body experience. He was there, he was the one kissing you, the one who had initiated it, but it felt like he wasn’t. He was up in the clouds, too far lost in the way it felt to run his hands through your hair as he had always dreamed of to notice Aunt May sneaking past the door, overjoyed to see Peter finally with the girl he had been loving in silence for far too long. You pulled away from each other, eyes opening slowly and hesitantly and your lips practically still connected.

He wanted to tell her that he adored her, but Aunt May’s voice flowed from the kitchen too loud to overpower his thoughts. “You read her the letter, didn’t you? I told you it’d work! Worked for your Uncle Ben and I was right as I always am!”

He jumped up from the bed, sticking his head out of the doorway and pressing his finger to his lips. “Maaaayyyy, you’re embarrassing me,” he whispered-yelled, practically whined. “You were right, okay? Thank you, let me go get a girlfriend now. The girlfriend.” She beamed at him, but no one’s smile could shine brighter than Peter’s.

He retreated back into the room, and you were clutching the letter in your hands. You looked up at him hopefully. “I was thinking that maybe you could read me the other nine letters. If you’re up for it.”

Peter couldn’t possibly say no, taking a page out of his Uncle Ben’s book the way he should have done in the first place as he found the hiding spot for the stack of letters he had been writing for the past few months, sliding them over to you and feeling confident for the first time in a long time.

You loved the pale blue light and how the morning sun made every surface glitter with the day’s new ice crystals. You could practically feel the static electricity in the air, dancing across your skin snapping little sparks when you rubbed your hands over your arms for warmth. Past time to light a fire.

A quick glance at your phone told you they weren’t here. Not yet. You tried not to be annoyed, knowing that if he called you he must really need help and safety. Naturally a night owl, the 4:30am call was a harsh awakening but when you saw “Steve” on the caller ID everything shifted. It always did for him. He carried a sense of urgency everywhere he went and your history made it impossible to ignore.

I love your writing omg it's so good!! How would hanzo, mccree, genji, and pharah react to seeing their s/o curled up on their bed almost in tears and when asked if they are okay they just kinda break down? I just had a really awful week and I would love some really fluffy shit. Thanks so much!!!

A/N: Hope you’re feeling better Anon, sending some good vibes your way!

Hanzo:

  • Hanzo’s rather quiet, so he’d notice you before you noticed him. He’s not the warmest person, though he tries to open up more around you, to varying degrees of success. His heart breaks when you break down in front of him, though he puts on a strong face for your sake. He’d pull you out of the bed into a tight hug, his embrace saying more than his words ever could. He’d simply say “I love you.” while holding you close, running one hand through your hair while he lets you use his shoulder to cry into. Once you’ve calmed down a bit, he’d let you slide back into bed while he goes to make tea. A warm beverage filled with love helps him cheer up, and he knows it’ll do the same for you. The rest of the night is just the two of you together in bed, with Hanzo refusing to leave your side until he’s certain that you feel better, and even then he’d still stay.

McCree:

  • McCree finds you curled up on the bed and is immediately by your side, making sure that you’re alright. He’ll hop in beside you, wrapping you up in a big hug, his weathered poncho engulfing the two of you. McCree is very emotional, and is very much a hands-on sort of person, so you’re not getting out of that hug anytime soon. He’ll whisper how much he loves you while rubbing your back, trying to gently console you, pulling your bodies as close as he possibly can. “I love you.” “You mean everything to me.” “You’re perfect.” Except innumerable amounts of praise, each one heartfelt and meaningful. Don’t be surprised if McCree starts crying too, your pain is his pain, the two of you are a team. He won’t let you out of the hug, and the two of you will drift off to sleep in each other’s arms, his poncho still wrapped around you.

Genji:

  • Genji’s extremely quiet, even more so than Hanzo, but unlike his older brother, he can properly show emotions. He’s in bed with you before you realize he was ever there, and his mask is off almost immediately. Genji’s quite in touch with your emotions, he was always good at reading people, and the years with Zenyatta only heightened those skills. He’ll be more affectionate than Hanzo, pressing a long kiss to your lips as soon as you look up at him, his embrace gentle yet strangely protective. To Genji, struggles in the past are something to come to peace with, they’re experiences that you’ll learn from, but they’re not what defines you. He knows better than anyone how tumultuous emotions can get when you’ve had such a rough time, and he’s there for you. Whether it’s meditation tips to help you calm down, or just a shoulder to cry on, he’s yours forever.

Pharah:

  • Pharah’s all business in public, but once she gets home she lets the walls come down. She’s concerned the instant she sees that you’re curled up, sitting on the side of the bed to make sure you’re alright. She’ll pull you up into a hug, holding onto tight as sobs escape your lips, looking as stoic as ever. She’ll whisper into your ear how strong you are, how proud of you she is, how perfect you are, anything that will let you know how much she loves you. Pharah will try and get you to smile again, though if that doesn’t work she’ll default to her usual state, being a rock for you to support yourself on. She hates to see you like this, and that hug won’t be released until you’re ready, she wants to protect you from everything, including a break down. The Amari’s have always been protective, and Pharah is no different, she promises that you’ll always be safe with her, nothing will ever hurt you on her watch.
Prodigy Lance Fic Part 10!!!!!

Lance’s sleeping form remained unmoving as he was in the pod. He had been in there for two days already, and the team were starting to get impatient, especially Keith. He was currently sitting in front of the pod, chin propped in one hand while he drummed his fingers against the cold floor. His eyes never left Lance’s face. Keith heard footsteps approach behind him, but ignored them. “Keith.” Shiro sighed. “Come to dinner. You’ve already missed lunch and Lance isn’t going anywhere.” Keith shook his head, eyes never moving. “I’m not leaving him. Not again. What if he wakes up when I’m not here?” “Keith, you’re dead on your feet. If Lance comes out now, don’t you think he would be worried about you? You’ve haven’t slept at all, and you’ve been skipping meals. Get some rest and something to eat. You want to be able to stay awake when he is, right?” Keith stayed silent, knowing he couldn’t argue. With an aspirated sigh, he slowly stood up, knees popping with the action. Shiro smiled and place his hand on his shoulder. “Let’s go eat some dinner.” They both walked and joined the team who were already eating in the kitchen. The two sat down and began to dig in. After a few moments of silence, Coran practically skipped to table, relief and excitement bumbling out of him. “Good news everyone! I just checked Lance and according to my calculations, he should be out by today!” Allura set down her spoon and sighed in relief. “Good. Considering the injuries he sustained, he healed fairly quickly.” Hunk silently nodded. “I’ve never seen so much blood before..” Keith clenched around the fork in his hand, his mouth pressed in a thin line. His mind replayed the scene over and over again. It was something he could never forget. “There’s just one thing I don’t get.” Coran stated. “How did Lance know exactly what his injuries were?” Pidge looked up at this. “What I want to know is how he manage to hack into their system without breaking a sweat. It took him like two minutes tops.” “Not to mention that he spoke fluent Galran!” Coran added. Keith furrowed his brow. Hmm… “Hey, Hunk. Did Lance do anything..out of the ordinary at the Garrison?” Hunk shrugged his shoulders. “Not that I can think of. Though he spent a lot of time with Iverson and the other professors. He was always having meetings and sometimes ate lunch with them. Even the president and CEO over the Garrison.” Shiro raised an eyebrow at this. “What? Only highly skilled students with unique abilities spend that much time with the professors, especially the head president. Why was he at the Garrison for, what was he studying to be?” Hunk picked up his fork, using it as a toothpick and shrugged, nonchalant. “Every time I asked he always said he wanted to be a fighter pilot.” Pidge intervened. “Yeah, but when I would try to go into detail about it, he would quickly change the subject. It was like he was nervous or scared about something.” “Oh, I almost forgot!” Hunk exclaimed. “He would always carry around this notebook, and he was suuuuper protective over it. He would only show it to Iverson and the other teachers, but would never show it to me. Always said it was extra credit or something. Although one day when he was writing in it, a read one heading but had no idea what it meant. Before I could ask, he quickly shut it and got super defensive about it.” Keith spoke up. “What did it say?” “Oh uh, something like The Shada Plan and in small letters beside it it said revised.” Shiro started coughing, choking on his food. “Shiro!?” Shiro ignored them. “The Shada Plan?? The plan that was created specifically for the Kerberos mission? Why was he revising it? Hunk did you read anything else in his notebook?” Hunk twiddled his thumbs. “Umm, well there was this other time where he left his notebook opened when he went to use the bathroom, but all that was in it was a huge line of code. Like it took up almost two whole pages. When I asked Lance what it was, he was said it was just a little project he was working on, he was just fooling around. It had a weird name at the top of the page though. I think was Bex Klaus or Taylor Bex?” Pidge leap from her seat.“WHAT?? Are you telling me that Lance created THE Bex Taylor-Klaus code?!” Hunk arched his eyebrow. “Uhh..yeah?” “Guys do you know what this means??” The team looked at each other, shrugging their shoulders. “Are you kidding me?! Lance, our Lance, created one of the most famous battle codes of all time! It’s used for technological warfare! You just have to enter the code, and it causes the host to destroy itself while sending the information right to you! It untraceable and you don’t even know it’s there before it’s too late! It was revolutionary in the technological world!” Pidge said incredulously. The team were at a loss for words, letting the information sink in. “So you mean to tell me,” Keith started slowly. “That’s Lance has created these plans and codes that have been very successful and famous. Plans and codes that only a genius could come up with?” Pidge could only nod. “So does this make Lance some sort of genius?” Allura questioned. Shiro shrugged. “There’s only one person who can answer our questions.” As if one cue, the team heard the familiar hissing of the pod opening.

Hey so i read one of your works on Ao3 and it was super adorable and i loved it, it was about stiles and derek sharing a broom closet of an apartment in nyc and cuddling thier way through their issues with eachother and then you wrote a hashtag epilogue, and i can't stop thinking about how much i wanted the epilogue to be another story so i figured i'd ask, my names scarletwaters on Ao3, ok bye and thank you if you decide to write it :)

little spoon

I had given absolutely ZERO thought to writing a sequel to this, and then I read your message and the ideas started flooding in. Go figure.

Being Derek’s boyfriend goes surprisingly well for a whole year. They move out of the tiny “apartment” into a slightly less tiny apartment. They continue to spoon; they become spooning masters; they are the gods of spooning. Stiles gets the best sleep of his life, and so does Derek. The non-sleeping aspect of the whole dating thing takes a bit more time to iron out, sure, but they get there. Slowly but surely, they figure out how to hold hands on the couch while watching Netflix without getting weird about it. They figure out, to their mutual relief, that endearments weird them both out, but there are other little things they both like even if they’d never admit it on pain of death, such as forehead kisses. They figure out how to do the whole shower sex thing without serious injury. Stiles also finds out Derek is awesome at cooking, when he can be assed to do it. Stiles figures out a lot of very creative ways to motivate him.

All in all, awesome.

Then…. well, then It happens.

It’s been about a year and three months when, one day, Stiles happens to see Derek coming out of a jewelry store.

He wasn’t following Derek or anything, he wants the record to be very clear on that; it’s just, they were going to meet up at the Chinese restaurant on the corner for dinner, and Stiles got there early. Usually Stiles doesn’t arrive early anywhere ever, but this time one of his classes got canceled at the last minute and he suddenly had all this spare time, and so he went ahead and snagged them a table at the restaurant.

That’s where he is when it happens, just people-watching out the window and contemplatively sipping his oolong. That’s when the door to the jewelry store across the street opens and Derek comes out, head down, busy tucking a suspicious little black box into his inner jacket pocket, and Stiles spits out his tea all over the table because what the fuck.

God, you really hated Sam sometimes.

You’d always been friendly before, and all banter was purely out of jest. You’d tease each other after a hunt, judged based off of who looked more tired or who had taken the most blows, but you’d always laughed each burn off and washed down the real hurts with a glass of whiskey or a beer.

Now, he could throw any insult your way and you wouldn’t know if he meant it or not.

Your real Sam would never tell you off or be mean to you without feeling any sort of remorse. So as far as you were concerned, the rude comments and out-of-character judgments were just temporary. They still stung, though, always did. You were working on getting Sam’s soul back, it was just taking a hell of a lot longer than you wanted.

Sharpie Promises

Note: I don’t know if I’ll publish this or not, but basically, I’m a ho for TMNT and soulmate AUs and I’ve never seen a TMNT Soulmate AU, so here you go. It’s the 2k14/2k16 turtles btw. Idk. I might do more of these if you guys like it.

Raphael wasn’t human. He had struggled with this, but had eventually come to terms with the fact. He didn’t have a soulmate and he wouldn’t ever find love. Not in a world full of humans. He tried to be all right with it. Keyword: tried.

It wasn’t until he was working out one day that he felt something cold and wet travelling across his left forearm. Just as quickly as it had started, it stopped. He removed his three-fingered hands from the weight he had been lifting and sat up to examine it.

Hi.

Messy black letters written in Sharpie. His green eyes narrowed. What was this? He had never felt or seen anything like this. But there it was, plain as day on his arm. He stared at it, afraid that the words would disappear, but no. They stayed right where they were. And then soon after, more appeared from nowhere, as though a ghost was writing on his arm with an invisible marker.

So, it’s like three in the morning here and I don’t know if I’m doing this right, but um, hi.

A long pause. Raph stared in amazement, too shocked to say anything.

You’re probably asleep, aren’t you? Dammit. Well, um…bye, I guess.

He had never run so fast in his life.

“Woah, woah, watch it!” Donnie raised his arms as Raph pushed his chair away from his station and grabbed a Sharpie, pulling off the cap between his teeth and scrawling in the empty space on his arm.

Wait.

***

Your heart raced as a response finally appeared.

Wait.

Big, messy letters that you could tell had been written in a rush.

I’m here. Who are you? What’s happening?

You stared at the letters, the handwriting. Your stomach dropped, the nerves kicking in. This was it. This was your soulmate. You had no idea how this worked. No one did, but it worked, and that was all that mattered. A magical pen-pal from far away, probably. Why anyone would be up at this ungodly hour besides you was beyond you. But now you had to reply. You turned over your arm to write back.

I’m (Y/N). Your soulmate, I think. I don’t know…this is what everyone else does, but I’ve always been too shy to try.

***

Soulmate.

Raph’s heart skipped a beat when the word was written on his arm. Soulmate. He had a soulmate. He actually had…Oh my God.

“Raph, are you crying?” Mikey asked, looking up at his older brother, whose eyes certainly looked a little misty.

“N-no. I just got dirt in my eye. Go away.” He sniffled and smiled.

“Whatcha doin’?” the youngest turtle looked over Raph’s shoulder and scanned a few words before he raised his arm far above Mikey’s head, but he had already seen it. Soulmate. “You…you have a soulmate?”

“I guess so.” Raph shrugged. By now, Donnie and Leo were paying attention to what was happening.

“You have a what?” Donnie’s head snapped around. He pulled down Raph’s arm to examine it. But there it was, plain as day. What the internet described as a ‘soulmate exchange’. “I didn’t think it was scientifically possible for you…for us to have…”

“Are you serious?” Leo came over to look.

“What do I look like? A freakin’ museum?” Raph snapped. “Now go away. I gotta write ‘er back.” The others gave him some space as he walked over to the couch and sat down, the tip of the Sharpie hovering over his green arm.

Soulmate, huh? Did think I had one of those. Name’s Raphael. Nice to meet ya.

***

What are you, a renaissance artist? Lol JK

Something like that.

So where are you from, Mr. Renaissance Artist?

New York, New York.

Seattle, Washington. Well, this might be a little complicated, huh?

Something like that…

***

You wrote to Raphael until the sun came up and then you crashed. You had thought it was a dream until you saw the words written there the next morning. You had a soulmate. His name was Raphael. He was from New York.

But at least he existed. It could be a lot worse.

It wasn’t until about noon, three o’clock there, that you wrote to him again, after having wiped your arm off to give you more room to write.

Good morning.

You wake up at noon?

Only when I’m up until sunrise talking to my soulmate.

Fair enough.

So how’s your day been?

Overwhelming.

Fair enough.

***

Leo, Donnie, and Mikey were all bunched behind Raphael to watch.

“Go away!”

“Dude, we just wanna watch.” Mikey whined.

“Go! Away!”

“All right, sheesh,” Donnie walked back to his lab, and Leo and Mikey reluctantly walked away.

So…

He wrote.

What’cha wanna talk about?

I don’t know.

What’s it like in Seattle?

Rainy. What’s it like in New York?

Noisy. He replied, a smirk spreading across his scarred lips. How old are you?

Seventeen.

Same.

Nice. How tall are you?

Like 6’5”-ish.

Holy shit! You’re gonna have to bend down to kiss me.

Kiss you. He was going to kiss you. Eventually. A new concept. Butterflies spread through his stomach, but he tried to play it off.

You a shorty?

Compared to you, yeah. Always had a thing, for tall guys, though. No worries. ;)

He smiled.

Got any hobbies? You asked.

Ninjitsu, bein’ a giant mutant turtle, etc…

Uh, I knit sometimes. And I work out. A lot.

Mr. Muscles the Knitting Renaissance Artist. You keep getting better and better.

So what do you do for fun, Shorty in Seattle?

Oh you know, read, write, spend ungodly amounts of time on the internet.

Sounds fun.

It is. So, anyways, I’ve been looking into New York travel recently (and by recently I mean right now immediately) for reasons, you know. Anyway, what area of New York should I travel to in…ten months when I go to college (that I’ve just applied to) there?

***

After a long day of talking to you and patrolling and trying to work out, Raph was exhausted. He laid in his top bunk, reading your ramble with a smile.

After replying, he knew it was time to go to sleep.

I’m wiped. I gotta sleep.

Oh, okay. Goodnight Raph.

Night, (nickname).

I love you.

His heart skipped a beat.

I love you too.

I can’t wait to meet you.

Already countin’ down the days, babe.

Me too.

***

Weeks later, you got an idea.

So, theoretically, if I were to Skype you, would you pick up?

I don’t have a Skype.

I want to hear your voice.

I can call you, if you want. I just don’t do video chats?

Why?

Because I’m a giant freaking mutant turtle and I don’t want my soulmate to hate and/or be afraid of me.

I want to see you for the first time in person.

All right then. Here’s my number.

You waited in bated breath for your phone to ring, and then suddenly it did. Your thumb hovered above the accept button. You felt like your whole body was trembling.

“Hey there.” You could hear the shaking in your voice. He chuckled, and already you loved the sound of his laugh.

“Hey yourself,”

“Oh my God, I love your voice.” You gushed.

“I love yours too, shorty.”

“Aaaaah! Your accent is so hot!”

“Heh, yeah.” He smiled.

“Ooh, are you talking to (Y/N)?” Mikey asked. “Can I say hi?”

“No, you can’t. Shoo.”

“Who’s that?” You asked.

“My little brother.” Mikey tried to reach up and grab Raph’s phone, but he squirmed away from him. “Mikey, go away!”

“But-!”

“Go away!”

“I wanna say hi to your girlfriend!!”

“Mikey, leave Raph alone.” Leo smirked from across the lair. The youngest brother left, deflated.

“Sorry ‘bout that. Where were we?”

“I was gushing over your very attractive voice, Mr. Muscles.”

“Ah. Right.” He tried not to blush and failed miserably. A slow smirk snuck across his lips. “I love you.”

“I love you too!”

***

“Did you get it yet?” Raph called you a few months before you were supposed to arrive. As the day approached, he got more and more anxious. You would be here in New York and he wouldn’t be able to skirt around the truth anymore. He was a giant turtle and you were a human girl. It wasn’t going to work out.

But nonetheless, he had sent you something. Something to remember him by if it didn’t work out, he supposed.

“It came in today! I haven’t opened it yet, though. I’m going to right now. Give me a sec, I’m gonna put you on speaker.”

“All right.” Raph listened as you set down your phone and put him on speaker. Then came the noise of you cutting the tape and opening the small cardboard box and sifting through the tissue paper.

“Oh my gosh! It’s amazing! I love it! You really made this?”

“I did.” He smirked. You held up the perfect little pendant. A polished wooden turtle that Raphael had carved himself. It hung from a simple twine string. You put it on immediately, tying the necklace around your neck. You let your fingers run over all of the intricate little grooves.

“I’m never taking it off, I hope you know that.”

“I’m flattered.” He chuckled. “I can’t wait to see how it looks on ya.”

“I can’t wait to see you.”

A nervous little laugh.

“Yeah. Pretty soon, now.”

“It couldn’t come soon enough.” You smiled warmly. “It’s late. I’m gonna get some sleep. Exams tomorrow and then I’m out of school for the summer. And then, only two months until I get to see you.”

“Well, you rest up, shorty. Get good grades. I don’t want ya to fail.”

“Good night. I love you.”

“I love ya too. Night.”

When he hung up, he stared at the ceiling. God, what was he gonna do?

***

You were full of jitters when you landed in New York two short months later. The time had crawled by so slow, but you passed the time. And now you were here, the center of the modern world.

“I’m here! I just landed! When do you want to meet up?”

“Um, how about you get settled? Go to your apartment or whatever. I’ll come over tonight.”

“Okay.” Your heart raced. “Okay. I’ll see you then. I’ll uh, get you the address once I find it.”

“Sounds like a plan. Stay safe. I’ll see ya tonight.”

“See you.” When you hung up, Raph started to pace through the lair.

“I’m going to see her tonight. Oh my God. She’s gonna find out I’m a giant turtle and she’s gonna hate me.”

“Statistically, after ten months of-”

“No more science bulllshit, Don! I’m a freak! She’s gonna run screamin’ and I’ll never see her again!”

“It’ll be fine, Raph. You’re over reacting. As usual.” Leo’s tone was cool, annoyed. “She loves you. We’d have to be blind not to see that.”

“I guess we’ll find out tonight, huh?” He slumped onto the couch, a deep dread setting in. Tonight was not going to be pretty. He knew it.

***

After you had unpacked and met your roommate, a very nice woman named April who had been searching for a roommate for some time now, you called Raph and gave him an address. He asked about how things were and so you told him about your roommate. He chuckled. Well, that might make things a little easier. He told you he wasn’t far and he would be over in a few.

“Who’s that?” April asked after you hung up.

“My soulmate. He’s the reason I moved here, actually. He’s coming here if that’s okay.”

“More than fine with me.” She smiled. “What’s his name?”

“Raphael.” You told her. Her face lit up in surprise. Now the turtle necklace she had complimented you on when you walked in made a whole lot of sense. She doubted that you knew why though.

So this was the (Y/N) he had talked about. His soulmate. Shorty from Seattle.

“Nice name.”

“I know, right?” Your phone buzzed. “Oh my God, it’s him.”

“Hey babe, come outside.” You stood there in confusion for a second. “Fire escape.”

“Oh, okay. I’ll be down in a sec.” You nodded, tucking the phone away. Your heart raced as you climbed out the window and down the metal fire escape to the alley below. There, in the shadows stood a very tall, very large silhouette.

“Hey there.” It was him. His voice. In person. “I uh, I need ya to promise me something, gorgeous.”

“What?”

“Just…p-promise you won’t scream.”

“Why would I-?”

“Promise.”

“I promise.” You stated certainly.

“I, uh, I ain’t exactly…normal.”

“I love you, Raph.”

“You won’t when you see me.” His voice was quiet as all of his insecurities came to the surface.

“Raphael,” You reached out for him, hand forward for a long few moments until his three-fingered green one met it, pressing against it like Tarzan and Jane. Something familiar and something foreign. You gasped quietly, but when he moved to pull away, you gripped one of his large fingers. “Please.”

He let out a long sigh, considering bolting then and there, but he gave in and took a few slow, heavy steps out of the dark to where you could see him. Your soulmate was a giant mutant turtle. He waited for the sting of rejection, for the tears of disappointment streaming down your cheeks, but they never came. Instead, you pulled his muscular arms around yourself, clinging to him as though this was your last chance. He held you tight against his plastron, his knees giving out in the wave of relief that washed over him. Raph buried his face in the crook of your neck, and you felt hot tears against your skin.

Thank you.” A broken whisper from his scarred lips. “Thank you.”

“I love you.” You kissed his cheek and then his forehead, and you lifted his face to look at the green face under the tattered red bandana.

“All ‘uh this don’t bug you?” He asked, tear-filled green eyes searching yours. “You don’t care that I’m a freak?”

“You’re not a freak, Raphael.” The feeling of your soft skin against his face drove him up the wall in the best possible way. “Not to me.”

“Are ya just sayin’ that because I’m your soulmate?”

“I mean it.” You locked eyes with him and he felt as though you were staring into his soul. His smile was the most gorgeous thing you had ever seen. Curiosity sparked behind your eyes as you examined every inch of him, taking him in. “What are you?”

There wasn’t hatred or fear in your voice, only awe.

“I’m a mutant. A turtle. Hence the uh-” he motioned to the necklace around your neck. “That.”

“I love turtles,” You whispered as you kissed his snout. You were so close. So close he could just about…

You closed the gap between you, pressing a soft kiss to his lips. He didn’t know how to respond, but followed his instincts and tried his hardest to kiss you back. His large hands held your hips and your small hands framed his jaw before moving to his shoulders, fingers gently searching the terrain of his shell.

When you finally pulled away from him, you looked at him for a long time.

“Hey do you wanna come up for pizza?” April called down from the apartment window.

“Yeah, sure April. Are the guys coming?”

“Just got off the phone with Leo. They’re on their way.”

“Wait, you two know eachother?” You asked. Raph smiled and shrugged, finally getting to his feet and taking you with him. God, he was so tall.

“We go way back.” April smiled. “I named him.”

“What?”

“Long story. Come on, shorty.” He picked you up off of the ground as if you weighed nothing and carried you on his hip, your feet dangling a foot in the air. “’Bout time you met my brothers, huh?”

***

After you had met his brothers and enjoyed some celebratory pizza, the six of you had settled down to watch a movie. At the moment, Raph was spread out on the couch with you laying on top of him and a cozy red blanket draped over both of you. He nuzzled into your neck as your hands traced gentle circles on his plastron.

“I love you, Raphael.” You kissed his jaw. He hummed contentedly.

“I love you too, soulmate.” The word had never sounded so right.

I GOT THE GIRL [FRED WEASLEY]

request: “Hi! Can you write a Fred Weasley x Ravenclaw!Reader imagine? The reader is a bookworm, and is often found in the library. She and Fred are almost complete opposites. Fred is intrigued by the "different” girl you can say and they start hanging out. Introducing each other to their life, with things the other would never do. Ends with a cute passionate kiss?“ — by @my-unique-mind

a/n: added a little twist to it. hope you don’t mind :-) also, i got carried away with this one so it is quite long 😂

Masterlist + Request here!

On the course of your stay in Hogwarts, the only conversations you would share with Fred Weasley were just mere hellos and greetings. Whenever the seat beside you wasn’t taken yet in some class, he would ask if it was okay to sit beside you, and you would glance at him before nodding, minding your own business starting then.

Though other than that, the both of you never bothered to approach the other in attempt to get to know them better. It has been always like that for the past years — so for him to suddenly ask you a very important favor, it was quite unbelievable.

It was a Saturday morning that time and you were spending your day inside the library as usual. In front of you was one clear parchment, a book needed for Transfiguration, and a bottle of ink that you had. You were just about to write the first sentence of your essay when someone abruptly sat down across you.

It was Fred, with his red hair and goofy smile. You raised your eyebrow in question and slowly brought your quill down, waiting for the boy before you to say something that would explain why he was here.

"Good day, isn’t it?” he started, his head turning around as if to look at his surroundings. ‘The sun’s not shining too bright, the wind’s pace is just right, and it’s not that cloudy.“

"Is there something I can help you with?” you asked with your eyebrow still raised.

Fred flickered his eyes to you. “I’m glad you asked, Y/N, because there is this one tinsy little problem I’m dealing with and I know you can help me figure it out.” there was mischief in the way he spoke those words, which made you kind of uneasy.

“Oh, is it regarding about that Transfiguration assignment Professor McGonagall gave us 'cause I’m doing it right now —”

“Y/N,” he politely cut you off that made you stop talking, “that’s not it.”

You involuntarily blush. “Then what is it?”

Fred leaned on the table, prompting his elbows and placing his chin on top. “I knew it was a good choice to pick you, Y/N. I had a hard time convincing George that you’re the perfect accomplice —”

“Woah, what?” it was your turn to you cut him off. “You lost me at accomplice.”

“Well, you see,” Fred licked his lips, “we need a book from the restricted section of the library. Of course, no teacher with the right mind would let me or my brother get it, so I thought since you’re always in the library so much, not to mention you’re a Ravenclaw, you would be the one to do it for us.”

“You must be out of your mind.” You scoffed. “What makes you think I’ll do that for you?”

“Because,” Fred trailed, “I’m such a good person and I make other people happy?”

You couldn’t help but snort at his reason.

"Oh, come on, Y/N! I promise, this will the first and last favor I’ll be asking you if you agree to help.“

The two of you stared at each other for what seemed like minutes before you finally broke free and groaned.

    "Fine, I’ll do it.”

Fred fist pumped in the air that made Madam Pince to suddenly appear and hiss at him.

“But you need to do something in return. Anything, so that I’ll feel I’m not doing this for free.” you chuckled lightly.

He nodded in understanding. “Okay,” he shrugged, “how about I do a poem? You’re into those kind of stuff, right?”

“Well, yeah …” you blushed again for whatever reason.

“Then it’s settled then. You help us get the book and I’ll do a poem. Deal?” he extended a hand out and you didn’t hesitate to grasp it with your own, shaking it.

    “Deal.”

You indeed had done what you had to do. After Fred and George talked to you and gave you the title of the book that they needed, you immediately made up an excuse as you ask the head of your house, Professor Flitwick, to sign the slip that allowed you to get the book from the restricted section of the library.

The whole plan seemed too easy, because the teacher didn’t even question you or grew suspicious on why you needed the book. And now, you were patiently waiting inside the cosy atmosphere of the Three Broomsticks, your eyes glued on the door, ready to finalize your deal with the Weasley twins.

Though Fred was the only one who came, even panting as he sits down beside you. You couldn’t help but glance at him oddly but still a smile was playing on your lips.

“Sorry,” he sighed while he takes off his coat and hangs it on the chair he was sitting on, “had to get away from George. I didn’t want him to come.”

“Why?” you slowly brought out the book from your bag.

Fred smirked at you, “Because I wouldn’t want him hearing my poem, obviously. He wouldn’t let it go if he heard it, will keep on teasing me for an eternity if he did.” he murmured mostly to himself.

You almost forgotten about the poem and with the mention of it, you raised your eyebrows in curiosity. “Well, now that you mentioned it, read it to me.”

For the first time, you saw his cheeks turn into a shade of pink as he softly stutters. “Uh, r-right now?” he cleared his throat.

“Not necessarily, but if you want to have this book —”

“Okay,” he pouted, “I get it, I get it. Just let me …” he rummaged through his bag and got a notepad with written notes on it, though before you could take a peak, he blocked it away from your view with his hand. “Hey! I’m going to read it to you anyway so why bother?”

“I’m just curious, jeez.” You chuckled. “You know, I’m very interested in what you have prepared. It’s always been in my bucket list to get you to do something completely out of your character.”

“Oh, I’m sure it is.” he snorted with a grin. “Uh, so, before I begin, I’m just gonna ask you not to laugh, okay? I admit it’s not my best work but … it’s what I wanted the poem to be about.” the color red was creeping on his cheeks again.

    You smiled. “I promise.”

He dramatically cleared his throat, turning sideways so he was completely facing you.

“The way she speaks can lure me to sleep
the way she smiles can change my cold feet
the way she reads can send thousands of thoughts
like why only now did I notice she smelled like apricots?”

He stops momentarily to look at you and sees you laughing silently which draws him to continue.

I can never really explain why I started feeling so differently
when she has always been there, always been pretty.
and maybe that is why I decided to make a plan
something that will give my chance a hand.

It amuses me how she doesn’t notice
like for the first time, she didn’t know how to focus
but how can she not, that’s not her flaw
After all, she is a Ravenclaw.”

Your eyes widened at that mere line and you could hear Fred taking a gulp before carrying on like nothing happened.

“So this time, as I read this poem to you
please tell me you understand it like you always do
keep in mind that out of all the pranks I’ve done, all of the shows
you rejecting me at this very moment terrifies me the most.”

Fred closed the notepad and immediately turned away from you, folding his hands on the table. “Done.” he stated with his lips pursed together, not bringing himself to see your reaction after just confessing that he indeed fancied you.

“That was … beautiful. You might actually beat Edgar Allan Poe if you pursued writing.” you tried to catch his eye but he wouldn’t budge. “Fred, please do look at me.”

“No.” he answered immediately. “I-I had some time thinking about this and now that I’ve done it, I think I regretted doing it.” he spoke very fast.

It seemed cruel, but you enjoyed seeing him all frantic and shy — because in your defense, it wasn’t everyday you would see Fred Weasley behaving this way. He was mostly so confident with his brother, the complete opposite of what he was showing you right now, and it made you reach out and place a hand over his.

“Would it make you feel better if I told you I felt the same way?” You couldn’t help but tease, causing him to finally look at you.

“Not funny, Y/N. You’re completely messing with my emotions and do you know how many times I’ve thought about telling you about this and now you’re —”

You rolled your eyes, leaning in and pressing your lips onto his just to make him shut up, and also maybe because you’ve been meaning to do it for a long time now. It definitely did the trick though because Fred caught on and began to kiss you back, his hand soon resting on your cheek while his other one still intertwined with yours. When the both of you let go, Fred’s eyes looked like they were twinkling from delight.

“What is it?” you asked, a goofy smile plastered on your mouth as well.

“Nothing, I just — my brother and I didn’t really need the book, it was the plan I’ve been talking about in my poem, to give my chance a hand.” he repeated.

“Wow.” you playfully slapped his arm with the borrowed book. “So meaning to say, all my efforts were put into nothing?”

“Well, it did make you a rebel even a little bit, didn’t it?” he grinned. “And it did help this thing going on between us to evolve as well.”

You pulled on your best confused face. “What thing?”

“Hardy har har.” he sarcastically laughed and pulled you in for another passionate kiss, your laugh audible in between as you place your arm around his neck.

Before the two of you could even decided to finally break free — realizing that you were still inside the Three Broomsticks — George Weasley came waltzing inside the pub and did a very loud gasp, enough to catch the attention of the other students to him.

“I can’t believe it. It actually worked!”

Fred groaned and turned to his brother who was now grinning like mad. “Shut up and go away, George.”

But George was already fist bumping him, and despite Fred getting annoyed, he couldn’t help but put on a cocky and bragging grin on his face as he did so because finally, he got the girl.

Caught in Between

Pairing: Darkiplier x Reader X Antisepticeye

Warnings: Language

Request: Hi! I was wondering would it be ok to request something where Dark and Wilford(or Anti your choice ☺️) are fighting over the reader

Notes: This was pretty fun to write haha. I just got off of work, sorry if it’s a little blah. I still hope you all like it though.

Requests are open! :)

“What the fuck do you want? I have Y/n’s attention! Me!”

“Y/N was resting, you have no right to ruin her sleep.”

You sigh, putting your forehead in your hands as you listened to Anti and Dark argue with each other again. This has been going on since this morning, it started out as normal as it get’s in this place and then the two Ego’s were both doing all these little tasks just for your attention.

Dark made you breakfast.

“Wow..th-this is amazing.” You said, mouth agape at the delicious looking breakfast witting before you on a plate. You didn’t understand where this has suddenly come from but you weren’t going to turn down some food.

“Thank you, Dark.”

“Anything for you, Y/N.”

That wasn’t anything suspicious, because Dar always says little things like that - besides… you were busy eating to really think about it.

Anti laid in your lap, cuddling into your stomach whining that you do something with him.

A small grunt left your lips at the sudden added weight on your lap. Looking down from your book, you see a grinning Anti staring up at you, making you give him a questioning gaze.

“What do you want?”

“Oh nothing just…you.”

You roll your eyes at his flirting then go back to reading your book, trying to fight off the smile that wanted to break out on your face. Anti didn’t like that your attention wasn’t on him a whine left his throat and he wraps his arms around your waist, burying his face in your stomach.

“Pay attention to me!’

As if moving on autopilot, you shift so that you can hold your book in one hand, while you now free hand moved itself through his hair.  It was something you found that helps calm him down, and there’s also the fact that he really liked it.

You smile, unknowing of the small smile Anti held on his face too.

Dark actually cuddled with you when you took your nap.

While being here you somehow gotten in the habit of taking naps. No complaining from you you loved to sleep, but this particular nap was not spent alone. It’s rare, whenever Dark feels in the mood for any physical contact that is normal and not… lust filled.

So when you were allowed to cuddle up into Dark’s side, it was a little surprising and suspicious. But you didn’t want to dwell on that, because this is such a rare occurrence, you wanted to cherish it. So you closed your eyes, snuggling closer to him, feeling his arm hold you tighter and breathing in his scent.

It was a nap you didn’t want to wake up from. And unknowing to you Dark didn’t want you to wake up for a few hours, liking holding you in his arms like a normal being - something he isn’t.

Then Anti woke you up, pulling you away from Dark for some junk food and video games. Which leads to where you are now, both men arguing, because Dark did not like the action Anti did.

while at first you were a little annoyed that he woke you up, the idea of having a fun rest of the night with junk food and games did sound nice. But then again, Anti did ruin a rare moment.

You heave a heavy sigh looking up at the two beings, eyes widening when you sw the familiar black void that only Dark can control. You stand up, moving between the which could be a bad idea, you didn’t know just yet, and held out a hand on either chest.

“Will you two just stop?” You look at Anti, “You, Grean Bean, when I’m napping - don’t wake me up.” then you look over at Dark, seeing his calm visage start to crumble to the temper he tries to hide. “And you Edgelord -” This earned you a glare. “- just..chill.”

You keep your eyes locked with his, the glaire slowly disappearing before he takes a deep breath. Dark stood up straight, fixing his already neat suit. Rolling his neck, he said,

“My apologies, Y/N.”

“…Yeah, me too.”

You let out a breath, then stood up to your full height, which wasn’t much to them. “Apologies accepted. Noe, mind telling me what today was all about?”

No one said a thing.

“Look, I don’t really understand this.” You pointed between the three of you. “But fighting for my attention, is not how you get it. I give it to you on my owns terms.” you pause, thinking up a perfect tense breaker. “Like right now, I really do want to kick Anti’s ass on Mario Kart.”

Dark smirked. “That does sound entertaining.”

“I’d like to see you fucking try! Bring it on, Y/N!”

“You’re My It” Dean Winchester x Reader

Word Count: 1,475

Dean Winchester x Reader

Request:  Could you write one (or more) about Dean? Where the reader is Dean’s ex but she got pregnant before the broke up. And Sam or Cas see her and the kid one day and tell Dean, who gets drunk and shows up at her door (with a little help from sweet Cas)?

Warnings: Angst, fluff

Flashbacks are in italics.

You and Dean had officially been together for a year now, but unofficially, it’d been almost your entire life. You were Bobby’s daughter- you grew up together. There had always been something there.

A few years ago, when Dean was cured from being a demon, you were the first person he wanted to tell. That made him realize that he didn’t want to wait any longer. He wanted to be with you one hundred percent. He loved you. He had asked you to be his girlfriend officially last year.

You’re now standing in your kitchen, finishing up making dinner for your one year anniversary. It’s been a rocky road, and lately, it’s been worse. He’s been distant and gone more, and you admit that you’d grown more emotional and needy. It’s only because you’re pregnant, but Dean doesn’t know that yet. You’re planning on telling him tonight. All you want is a good night with your boyfriend, is that too hard to ask for?

No, it’s not. Which is why you’re busting your ass to make this anniversary perfect. You’re making his favorite dinner, rented his favorite movie, and even found the cutest way to announce your pregnancy. You’re sure he’ll take it well, and that he’ll be excited. His dad was a big part of his life, and one time when he got drunk he had told you that whenever he became a dad he was determined to be a better one.

“Y/N?” A voice came through the door, keys clinking together. Dean’s home.

“Hey babe, I’m in the kitchen!” You call out.

Dean comes into the kitchen, and he looks dead tired. You can see it in his eyes- he’s worn out. He’s stressed, but of course he doesn’t talk to you about it. He doesn’t talk to you about anything lately.

“Is this all for me?” His eyes widen, wandering around the room.

“Yeah, happy one year.” You kiss his cheek.

“Oh.” He furrows his brows. Your stomach sinks. Of course he forgot.

“You seriously forgot?” Your mouth drops a little, sadness filling your heart.

“I’m sorry.” He sighs. “Look, Y/N…”

“What?” You’re afraid of what he’s going to say. You’ve been feeling it coming for a while, you’ll admit. But now? Tonight? All you can do is hope that he doesn’t.

“I just… I don’t think this, us, is working. You know I love you, but I just think we need some time apart. There’s a lot of shit happening right now, with Lucifer and Chuck and Amara, I just… I can’t. I’m sorry.” Dean says, a look in his eyes you can’t quite read.

You’re silent. There it was. Those words you’ve been dreading.

“Okay.” You say quietly.

“I love you. I just need time.” Dean repeated.

-

You’re now walking down the street of the mall, you’re favorite place to go. The mall in Denver was outside, which made it easier to not only enjoy the warm weather, but to push around baby Nina. She loved going on “walks,” which made it easy for you since you loved shopping.

After Dean broke up with you two years ago, you didn’t even bother telling him you were pregnant. If he was too stressed and busy to deal with you, the girl who’d practically been with him his entire life, he certainly couldn’t handle a baby. So, after you moved out of the bunker, you packed up and moved to a city you’d never even been to before- Denver. You moved into a small apartment, and got a decent job.

Baby Nina is now a year old, and she’s the cutest little thing. She inherited Dean’s looks, right down to the sparking green eyes. She’s beautiful.

You’re about to go into Victoria’s Secret when you see a man down the street staring at you intensely. He has brown hair and a…trench coat?

“Cas?” You say out, not believing your eyes. You haven’t seen Cas since who knows how long. It was before yours and Dean’s breakup, since he was possessed by Lucifer. Actually, now that you think of it, you have no idea how that turned out. He could still be Lucifer for all you know.

Cas is suddenly standing beside you, an unreadable expression on his face. You can tell by just looking at him that this was Cas, and not Lucifer.

“Oh my god, I’ve missed you.” You hug him. He stands stiff, but wraps one arm around you after a few minutes.

“Who is this?” Cas looks down at the stroller at Nina, who is now sleeping peacefully.

“Oh. This…” You trail off. There’s no point in lying. “This is my daughter.”

“And she’s Dean’s?”

“Please don’t tell him.” You beg. “He left, it was his choice. He left me.”

“Y/N…”

“Cas, promise me.”

“I… I promise.” Cas sighs.

-

After the encounter with Castiel, you went back to your apartment quickly. That blast into the past was enough for you for the day. It brought back memories you thought you had put behind you.

Nina had just fallen asleep in her crib for the night, so you were finally free to do whatever. You walk into your kitchen, grabbing a beer out of the fridge. God knows you need one. You walk over to your living room, turning on the TV to watch whatever was on. Anything would do right now, you just wanted to escape your mind.

You were getting really into the trashy reality TV show that was playing when it happened. He showed up. There was a knocking on the door, and you didn’t even bother to look through the peephole. It was probably just your landlord.

You opened the door, and there he was. Dean. You hadn’t seen him since that night. He hasn’t aged one bit, if anything, he looks better. He looks younger, less stressed than he was before. He looked amazing. Of course he did. He’s Dean.

“Cas ratted me out, didn’t he?” You were the first to speak.

“Can I meet her?” He says quietly. You nodded, and let him inside.

You walk him into her bedroom, and he audibly gasps when he sees her. He walks slowly over to her crib, as if he walked any faster a bomb would go off. He takes her hand in his, and a soft smile grows on his face.

“She looks like me.” He whispers. It was dark in the room, but you could swear you saw a tear fall down his cheek.

“I’m gonna… I’m gonna give you some time.” Your voice comes out shakier than you were wanting, and you exit the room. You walk over to your couch, and sit down shakily. You have no idea what you’re going to tell him.

A few minutes later, Dean comes out of her bedroom. He looks hurt.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” He says, sitting down next to you on the couch.

“I was going to. The night you left me.” You whisper. “But then after that… You couldn’t handle being a father. You were dealing with Amara, for God’s sake.”

“I’m so sorry.” He says, taking you by surprise. Why was he sorry? “I shouldn’t have done that. I let everything that was happening leak into my relationship with you. I messed up. This is all my fault. And now I have a daughter that I don’t even know because of it.” He choked out.

“Dean, its fine. I was mad at first, but seriously, I’ve let it go. I understand now.” You say truthfully.

“Y/N, I still love you, you know that right?” Dean says, a serious look on his face. “After everything was fixed, you were the one person I wanted to come to. But I thought that I couldn’t. I couldn’t face you, not after what I did. I’m hurting, Y/N, I need you. I need to be there for Nina.”

“Dean…”

“I love you so much. You’re it- you’re it for me. You and Nina. You’re my life now. Please, let me be here for you. If you can ever forgive me.”

“I forgave you a long time ago.” A weak smile on your face forms. “I love you too.”

Dean kisses you, so softly that you almost thought your mind was playing tricks on you. You bring your hands around his head, bringing him in closer. You missed this, you missed him.

“You’re my it, too, Dean.”

I just love you too much!

Not Langst today, my friends. Today I bring you ‘LaFluff’  :v

Part 2

Ao3: Click me to read my love ♥

In the contrary of everyone thinks, Lance is really shy and doesn’t like to talk about feelings. Yes, he may talk about a lot and say lots jokes, but feelings are a hard subject for him. He loves his friends, a lot, and would do anything for them. Anything but telling them ‘i love you’.

They started telling ‘i love you’ to each other thanks to a bonding exercise that Allura gave them to help them realise they were something more than just a team. Shiro and Hunk were the first one to say the words. Pidge followed not long after them and to eveyones surprise, Keith did too.

But Lance never did.

Lance loves all of them! He truly does! But everytime he tries to tells them those three little words, he frezees.

Shiro and Hunk are always telling him ‘I love you’ and looks a little bit hurt when Lance says nothing back and just smile. Pidge and Keith looks disheartened and hurt as well.

To be honest, Lance feels guilty.

They never complained or pressure him, but he could see how it was affecting them. Lance felt thankful for to them for being so kind and patient, but he needed to find a way to express them without words how much he cared. He needed to let them know he loves them as much as they love him.

Lance has always being an affectionate person, so his hugs and cuddles didn’t surprise his friends anymore. If he wanted to make a point, he needed to do something really special.

Hunk was cooking when Lance arrived. They started talking and joking like usual. The only different thing was that Lance was being more clingy than other days. Not that Hunk minds at all, he enjoys being the one Lance looks for when he needs a hug or some kind of affection. But there was something different… Hunk could tell. He wasn’t sure what was it, but Lance was acting a bit different. A little fidgety.

“Are you ok, buddy?”

“Me? I’m fine, dude. Don’t worry.”

Lance helped him around the kitchen. Hunk gave him ony the easy tasks not wanting to take any risks. Lance was a terrible cook both on Earth and space. He learnt that the bad way.

“Well, i think we’re done. I’ll tell the others the food is ready!” Before Hunk could leave the kitchen, Lance took him by the wrist.

“Hunk, wait! I need to… To tell you… Show you something… I think.” He murmured. The yellow paladin looked at him with some confusion before finally understanding what his friend was trying to do.

“You don’t have to say it, Lance. I can say it enough for the both of us, ok? Until your ready to say the words. No need to rush.” Lance’s eyes widden at this. Hunk chuckles. “I love you, so you don’t have to worry–”

Suddenly, a pair of lips were over his, and Hunk mind goes completely blank. It takes him a few seconds to finally comprehend what’s happening.

Lance Mcclain was kissing him.

The kiss was slow, sweet and full of tenderness. When they broke apart Lance gave him a soft smile and without any explanation, he left the kitchen.

Hunk’s heart was beating fast.

What?!1

“… Wait, Lance?! What was that? Buddy?!” But Lance was already gone.

Hunk spends the next few days trying to talk about what happened with Lance with no success.

He doesn’t know how, but instead of talking, they always ends up kissing.

Hunk stops caring after a while.

Pidge likes to work at night alone. She enjoys how quiet the castle is when everyone else is sleeping. It gives her time to think and to concentrate in some of her projects. Sometimes, Shiro arrives to try to convince to go to bed early or just to give her some company. Sometimes, instead of Shiro, is Hunk. Bringing her some midnight snacks.

Tonight, to her surprise, it was Lance. This wasn’t something new. It was weird when he joined her, but it usually happened when he was feeling homesick or just lonely.

“Hello, Pidgeotto. Mind if i stay here with you for a while?” He asked in a sleepy voice. Before Pidge could say ‘Yes’, Lance was already sitting beside her like he always did, but much closer.

She didn’t complain though, she only looked at her friend with curious eyes before smiling at him softly.

“Do you want to know what i’m working on?”

“Enlighten me, tell me what fantastic stuff have you been doing.” Pidge laughs.

“Sure you want to know? You know once i get started i don’t stop.”

“We have all night darling. I’m all ears.”

Lance could be very talktive during the day, but when it was only the two of them, he would often encourage Pidge to talk about whatever she was working at the moment. Pidge noticed that when Lance was feeling down, he prefered to listen to others insteat of talking.

Hours passes. And they are now laughing about some stupid little joke Pidge made about space. Lance was now hugging her from behind and his chin was resting on her shoulder. Pidge doesn’t feel uncomfortable with this new position but everytime Lance’s whipers near to her ear or his breath hits her neck she feels… Funny. Everything is too intimate, it isn’t like anything they’ve done before.

Lance tightens his grip on Pidge and she sighs as she leans more on him. “I love you, Lance.” Her voice is small, but Lance is capable of listening the words thanks to how close they were.

There’s a shift. And suddenly Lance was pulling apart from her. Pidge panics, thinking she messed up the moment. She turns to him, trying to say an apology but Lance was alredy kissing her.

Unlike Hunk, Pidge reacts fast, and clings to Lance joining the kiss with eagerness. She doesn’t know what came over her or the reason behind Lance’s actions, but she was going to accept his show of affection.

There’s no need to say, that from that night on, they kiss every time they have a chance.

Shiro knows there’s something going between Lance and Hunk. Everyone with eyes could see it. Their bond was stronger than ever and Shiro couldn’t be happier for them. He also knows Lance and Pidge have become closer. They talked more and spent more time together.

Shiro was proud of Lance. He had been worried for him since the bonding excersice Allura gave them. Shiro is not stupid, he knows Lance have his reasons for never returning their feelings.Yes, it surprised him. He was expecting something like from Pidge or Keith, never him. But he was understanding, everyone was. They did not pressure him or criticized him for anything, they all agreed to wait for Lance to feel comfortable with the situation.

Still, it didn’t mean they weren’t hurt by his silent. Shiro tried and told the others not to let it show a lot, since he didn’t want to make Lance feel guilty or anything like that. But as more time passed the team grow more insecure thinking it was them the problem and that Lance truly didn’t want to be a part of Voltron.

Thankfully, that was not the case. Lance was finally feeling comfortable around them again and that was a huge relief them.

Shiro finds Lance in the hangars and a big smile draws on his face.

“Lance!” Shiro calls his name and the paladin jumps in surprise.

“Shiro, hey! You scared me, what are you doing here?”

“I wanted to talk with you for a bit.”

“Oh… Did i do something wrong?” Shiro frowned at this.

“What? No, of course not! I came to tell you how proud i am of you!” Lance’s eyes widened. “ You have strengthen your bond with Pidge and Hunk on your own way and you’ve been great on the battlefield. You have improved a lot, Lance. Your aim is amazing and you hand-to-hand combact is much better now, have you been practicing?”

“I ha-have, umm, yeah, i have… y-you notice?” There was a soft blush on his cheeks.

“Of course i did. Sorry if i didn’t comment it before. I’m glad to see your commitment. Just don’t strain yourself too much, ok? I don’t want you to get hurt in training. We need our sharpshooter protecting our backs.”

Shiro was happy, and meant every word. Lance was improving, and he needed to know his efforts didn’t go unnotice. But his smile drop when he saw a few tears rolling down Lance’s face.

“What’s wrong buddy?”

Lance shook his head and hugged Shiro. “It’s nothing… ”

“Lance… You’re crying.” There was a murmur. “What was that, buddy? I didn’t catch that.”

“I said i’m happy… I thought… I dunno. I wasn’t good enough for Voltron, you know?”

Shiro looked at Lance with disbelief. "What?”

“But having you here… Telling me i’ve been doing a good job… It’s reassuring. Sometimes i just… Doubt my position in the team and… I don’t know. I’m glad to know i’m doing something right. ” And Lance looked truly happy. Shiro cupped his face.

“Lance… I want you to listen to me. You are a big part of this team, you were already good enough.. You may not be strong as Hunk, or fast as Keith, but you are a great sharpshooter and can create awesome plans! You don’t to doubt you position in the team, but if it truly helps to make you feel better I tell you everyday how much i love you and what an important part you are to this team, ok?”

The boy nodded. "Ok… ” Lance’s eyes were shining and looking at him with so much wonder that Shiro couldn’t help but blush and smile with fondness.

“I love you…” When those words left Shiro’s lips, Lance launched himself to the black paladin. To seal their lips together and wrapping his arms around him.

Shiro was so surprised he didn’t even move. Lance broke the kiss, and they both stared at each other in silence. The look in Lance’s eyes was enough to make Shiro understand the meaning behind the kiss.

The words he couldn’t say were they, tingling on his lips.

They kissed again, and again and again. Always sweet, always soft. And sometimes, with their grip in each other strong.

Shiro quickly figures out what Lance has been doing with the other paladins.

He can’t truly complain when he enjoys so much of Lance’s special way of telling them 'I love you’.

Ok, i know you are wondering, “Where’s Keith part?” Well, i didn’t like it. So i decided to write it later. (it was becoming harder and harder to write for some reason????)

So, i hope you like this. Love you all.

Stalker (Jason Todd x Reader)

Requested by: @avengerdragoness
“How about a Jason x reader where he’s the readers neighbour and she has a stalker so he protects her and when they catch the stalker he asks her out?”

Summary: Jason finds out about your stalker. When he picks you up from work your stalker approaches the two of you and the situation escalates

Warning: this could be a sensitive topic to people who had a stalker, fluff, you pretty much zone out in shock at the end

Note: ok, I feel like this is actually really bad? I’m sorry.

»»»»
Jason heard you scream at the top of your lungs and acted on instinct. He grabbed his gun and ran out of his apartment, kicking your door open. He had moved in a few months ago and you were probably his favourite part of the day. You’d walk past him in the hall and smile so beautifully, asking about his day, or if he needed something from the store. Jason believed you were an actual angel, but asking you out, well, that was something Jason wasn’t good at.

You stood in front of your dinning table in complete panic. Your breathing was too fast and your muscles froze, tears streamed down your face. You weren’t able to do anything, not in control of your own body.

Keep Ya Safe

Raphael x Reader

Note: Me: *has 30 requests I need to write, a play to finish, and exams to study for* Also Me: Eh, why not write something literally no one asked for. Hey guys, remember that stuffed turtle I bought way back? Yeah, so do I. Anyway, I kinda smushed a request into this one a little bit. Tried to. Anyway, fluff for my favorite hothead. I might have some Leo coming up later too, so keep your eyes peeled.

Raph. Was. So. Bored. But it was day, so he couldn’t leave the lair, and you were at school anyway so he didn’t really have anywhere to go. And so therefore, he was lifting weights, as usual. Needless to say, he wasn’t expecting to hear your voice so soon.

“Boo!” You sprang into his makeshift gym.

“(Y/N)? Don’t ya have school today?”

“Skipped.” You answered, dropping down onto the large pillow in the corner of the room. Your reading nook. Raph’s eyes widened.

“Woah, we got a badass over here.” He looked impressed.

“Kidding. Half-day. Exams.” You laughed. “I’m a goody-two-shoes. We both know that.”

“Heh, right.” He chuckled. “So what’cha doin’ here? Don’t ya got better things to do than hang out in the sewers?”

“Nah.” You shrugged. “Figured I’d pay my best friend a visit.”

“Ah.” He nodded. “Well, as you can see, not much is goin’ on down here.”

“Do you have patrol tonight?”

“Nope. Why?”

“Do you maybe want to come over to my place and watch a movie?”

“Yeah, sure. What’s on the docket tonight, shorty?”

“Hellboy.”

“What’s that about?”

“You’ll see.” You smiled innocently. “So are you in?”

“I don’t see why not.” But what he didn’t say was: I would watch paint dry if it was with you.

***

After dark, you waited in your room for Raph’s tapping on your window. Soon enough, he arrived and lumbered inside the window that was just barely big enough for the massive muscular turtle.

“(Y/N), ya here?”

“In the kitchen making popcorn!” You called. “Stay in there I’ll be out in a minute!”

“All right.” He looked around your room. Everything was set up, the movie’s menu playing on the screen. He sat down on your bed, causing it to creak beneath his weight. It was then that he noticed something sitting there. It was a medium-sized stuffed turtle. But that wasn’t all. It had a red bandana tied around its eyes. Raph’s cheeks suddenly matched his mask. He held it in his large hands, still not able to believe this was something that was sitting on your bed. Something you…slept with.

And in that instant, he imagined you, curled up in your sleep. Curled up in his huge arms. He pictured the sleepy breaths and quiet mumbles, and he wanted nothing more than to hold you against his plastron, to bury his face in your soft skin and kiss away all of your troubles.

He was in love with you.

Shit, why hadn’t he realized it sooner? You had been in front of him all along, and he had never…he had never felt this way. No, maybe he had. The days you wore your red t-shirt or the turtle charm that sometimes dangled around your neck. He liked to imagine you were his. He wished you were.

He wanted to hold your hand and hold you close, and God, he wanted to kiss your lips. Your soft human lips. Usually when he looked at his reflection, he could never imagine anyone loving him. He could never imagine anyone calling him theirs. But this turtle had changed everything, his entire outlook on love had shifted after spending two minutes in your room.

You opened the door, a large bowl of popcorn tucked under your arm and your hair pulled up into a messy bun. You weren’t wearing make-up, but you had never looked more gorgeous.

“What’s this?” he couldn’t stop the words from falling out of his mouth. Now your face was red.

“Oh, um, that’s my…um…” you sighed. “He just makes me feel safe, you know, when I’m asleep.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah.” You replied.

“So…” a ghost of a smile pulled at his scarred lips. “I make ya feel safe.”

“Yes.” You nodded and awkwardly walked over to the bed. “You do.”

“What are ya scared of?” he asked quietly as you sat down beside him. You couldn’t bring yourself to look at him.

“Losing you.” You mumbled.

“What?”

“Losing you.” Your whisper was slightly louder this time.

“I ain’t goin’ anywhere. I promise.” His giant green finger turned your chin to face him. His eyes were soft and earnest. “Listen, I uh…” his heart felt like it was going to leap out of his chest and run down the street. “I might be all rough on the outside, but uh, ya make me wanna be soft…for ya. And I just wanna protect ya. Because you’re so small and I’m so big, and if anything ever hurt ya…I don’t know what I’d do.”

There was a long silence. You stared at him for a long time, trying to find the words.

“I know that’s a lot to dump on ya. I’m sorry, I know you probably…I’m a turtle and you’re…I’m sorry I’ll just-”

“I love you.” You blurted, heart racing. “I don’t know for how long I have, but I do. A lot. I can’t explain it. You just make everything feel right. You make me feel safe.” You poked the plushie. “Even if it’s just this.”

“You don’t need it to keep ya safe. Not anymore. I’ll, uh…I’ll keep ya safe. I promise.” There was a long moment of silence. Raph slowly reached out, pulling you into his arms and onto his lap. You curled into his plastron and exhaled a huge sigh of relief. “So…what’s the movie about?”

“A big rough red guy who falls in love with a human girl.” You replied quietly. Raph chuckled.

“Let me guess, that was your back-up plan?”

“You could say that, yeah.”

“Well it woulda worked.” He kissed your forehead.

“Noted.” And with that, you pressed play.

Title: Here We Lie, Outstretched

It’s two in the morning when Derek is woken up by a sharp tapping on his window. He struggles with his blanket for a second and grabs his phone from the nightstand, groaning when he sees the time. He’d been reading until midnight, only stopping because he knew he had to get a healthy amount of sleep before going to school again.

So much for that.

He slips out of bed and runs a hand through his hair. He doesn’t turn the lights on, which turns out to be a mistake, and he hisses through his teeth when he hits his shin against the nightstand. He pulls the curtains back and pushes the window open.

Stiles scrambles away just in time to avoid getting hit in the face.

Adore You (Jungkook x Reader Fluff)

Prompt request: “I thought you didn’t want me.” + “Are you jealous?”

Summary: There are so many things you adore about Jungkook. But if there’s one thing you don’t like, it’s how kind he is to everyone else. Can’t you just keep him for yourself?

You glanced at your seatmate from the corner of your eye. Jungkook had been sitting at your two-person desk since the beginning of the semester, and since then, you had begun to develop a crush. A pretty big crush, if you were being honest.

How could you not? Jungkook was kind, hardworking, and also incredibly good looking. You definitely weren’t alone in your infatuation, either. Almost every girl in your class eyed you enviously every day.

You slipped into your seat just as the bell rang. Jungkook was already there, and he glanced up at you as you arrived.

“Hey Y/N,” he greeted casually.

“Hey,” you smiled back, trying to stay nonchalant.

“Did you do the homework last night?” Jungkook asked, flipping through his binder. He was studious–far more than you, anyway.

“Nope,” you replied easily. Chemistry was the least of your priorities. “I had a late shift last night.”

“Oh, you want to copy?” Jungkook offered, pushing his binder towards you. “You’re still working? Aren’t you worried about your grades this year?”

“Thanks,” you said, pulling out your own notebook. “And not really. My grades are good enough for university.”

“Damn,” Jungkook commented with a smile, although you missed it because you were too focused on writing. “Impressive. Also, I didn’t get some of the questions. Sorry about that.”

“Wow, that’s new,” you smirked. “You’re a thousand times better at chem than me, though.”

The teacher arrived, clearing his throat as he set his supplies down at the front of the class. You and Jungkook lapsed into silence as the lesson began. During the course of the period, you nodded off numerous times. Jungkook nudged you awake every time.

“Just let me sleep,” you whined, keeping your volume low so you wouldn’t get in trouble. “This is so boring and I’m exhausted.”

“You should reconsider that job of yours,” Jungkook suggested haughtily, and you just laughed.

The girl sitting in front of you turned around and glared at you. At first, you thought she was angry at you for talking, but when her gaze slipped to Jungkook’s longingly, you realized she was just jealous.

She turned around quickly, and you figured she wouldn’t bother you.

But boy, were you wrong.

The next day in class, you arrived (nearly late, as always) to see someone sitting in your seat beside Jungkook. It was the jealous girl from yesterday. You walked up to your seat, eyebrow raised.

“Oh, Y/N,” Jungkook noticed, looking up from his binder, which was placed in the middle of the shared desk. “I’m just explaining something to Ara.”

“I can move if you want,” Ara offered sweetly, though her eyes were daring you to suggest otherwise.

“No, it’s fine,” you replied, a little amusedly. What else could you say? You slipped into the empty seat in front of your desk and retrieved your supplies from your bag.

Jungkook and Ara talked ceaselessly behind you. You heard her giggle, and it made you want to gag. But Jungkook replied enthusiastically, and you wondered if Jungkook enjoyed your company at all. Pushing your insecurities away, you focused your attention to the front of the room.

Of all days, your teacher was absent. A timid-looking substitute scurried into the classroom, stammering out some instructions. The volume of the class increased, and Jungkook and Ara laughed away.

Annoyed, you turned to your own work. The student sitting beside you was a quiet, nerdy boy. You figured he wouldn’t want to converse with you. Pulling out your phone, you put on earphones and blasted your music, trying to drown out Ara’s voice.

“Uh, excuse me,” the boy beside you said hesitantly. You turned to him, pulling out an earbud. “Your music is really loud. Can you turn it down a little?”

Your eye twitched in annoyance. Like the class wasn’t loud already. “Sure,” you replied through gritted teeth. Opting to turn your music off completely, you resorted to placing your head on the desk.

It was another long shift yesterday, too, so it didn’t take long for you to fall asleep. Still, the background noise of Jungkook and Ara never ceased and haunted you in your slumber.

The next day, Ara was sitting in your seat again. She and Jungkook were looking at something on her phone, laughing, and didn’t notice your arrival. More defeated than anything, you slumped into Ara’s empty seat without comment.

At the sound of your chair scraping against the ground, Jungkook’s head shot up. He opened his mouth, but you weren’t looking his way, so he said nothing. Instead, he continued to entertain Ara, too polite to do anything else.

You wished he would say something like, “This isn’t your seat” or “I want Y/N to sit here,” but you knew he wouldn’t. Maybe he didn’t care if you sat with him, anyway. Jungkook was nice to everyone, and you were probably just projecting your own affections onto him.

The teacher strode into the classroom just as the bell rang.

“I apologize for my absence yesterday,” he began sternly, as always. “We’ll be starting a lab today. You’ll have to work quickly today to make up for lost time. So before I explain this assignment, please get into pairs.”

Inwardly, you cursed Ara for stealing your opportunity to work with Jungkook. Sighing, you turned to the boy beside you to ask if he wanted to be partners. But just as you opened your mouth, a hand shot out and tapped the boy on the back.

“Hey,” Jungkook said once the boy turned in his seat. “Do you mind if we switch spots?”

Your eyes widened to surprise, flicking to Jungkook. He was looking intently at the nerdy boy, who stammered his agreement. Glancing at Ara, you couldn’t help but smirk triumphantly. On your desk, Ara’s fists were clenched.

Jungkook swiftly switched seats with the boy beside you.

“I was thinking we could be partners,” Jungkook said as he set his books down. “You look a little surprised, so I hope that’s okay with you.”

“No, of course it’s fine,” you hurried to respond. “I just thought you didn’t want me. As your lab partner, I mean.”

“Are you jealous?” Jungkook asked, his eyebrows rising. Your cheeks burned, and you hurried to deny that. “She kinda just sat there. I didn’t want to be mean and tell her to move.”

“How was I supposed to know?” you sulked, burying your nose in your textbook. Still, you were giddy at the fact that Jungkook had went out of his way to be your partner.

“Obviously I’d rather sit with you,” Jungkook replied, a little incredulously. “Don’t be dumb. You wanted to sit with me too, right?”

“Yeah,” you mumbled sheepishly, still blushing. Jungkook smiled at you fondly, but like always, you were too busy looking elsewhere to notice.

The teacher’s voice cut through the noise, and he continued with his instructions. You and Jungkook turned your attention to the front of the class, and your embarrassment lessened once Jungkook’s gaze was diverted.

There were many things you adored about Jungkook. But if there was one thing you didn’t like, it was how kind he was to everyone. Still, he made up for it by being nicest to you.

A/N; Hey guys! Finally catching up on all the prompts in my inbox! This is from @papalogia ‘s prompt list !

14)  “I come to the library every day to ‘study’ but really I’m just watching Netflix over your shoulder and I’m really invested in this series and the day we’re supposed to be watching the season finale you’re not there and I??? Feel personally betrayed??”

Lucy sat down at her desk, flipped open her 17th-century literature notes, sat her triple shot extra vanilla caramel macchiato on the table, her textbook beside her, and finally looked up.

He wasn’t there.

Where the hell was he?

It was 5:30, Lucy was settled into her spot at the last table between Row Ba and Bu, and yet the table in front of her was glaring empty.

How the fuck was she going to find out how this season of White Collar ended?

Honestly, it wasn’t even Lucy’s fault she was addicted to that show. She had been sitting innocently in the library two weeks ago when she noticed the guy in front of her, not studying. Even if Lucy hadn’t done a double take on his neon pink hair and double bars in his left ear she would have noticed his screen playing the show just in front of him. It’s not like Lucy had been staring at him, it’s just that she had to look past him to watch his stupid laptop.

Look, Lucy couldn’t afford Netflix and she wasn’t about to risk her own laptop going on one of those shady sites just so she could find out if Niel managed to pull the scam or if he’d stay on the good side with the agent.

But God did she want to find out. Lucy looked down, worrying her lip. She probably could study like she had meant to every time she came here, but after the let down of mystery-boy not showing up Lucy just didn’t have the energy to do it. Dejected, she packed up her notes and textbook, putting in her headphones as she headed to the doors.

Lucy was halfway back to her dorm when something hard slammed into her shoulder, sending her sprawling on her ass in the grass beside the sidewalk. She rubbed her back, scowling at the boy who had caused her fall. He sat across from her, also having fallen from the collision. Her drink coated the pavement beside, thankfully missing her clothes.

The boy however, was not so lucky with his own drink.

“Aw, fuck,” he complained, arms cast to the side as he tried to keep himself from touching the red stain the was dripping down his front. And making his tank top cling to his defined muscles. Damn. It was like one of those meet cutes she read online.

Lucy’s bad mood was starting to ebb away until she looked at his face. It was a very good face, but Lucy’s attention was stolen from looking at it more closely by the bright pink colour of his hair. And the piercings in his ear, two bars on the left and smaller plugs in his lobes. And another two in his lip and eyebrow.

“You!”

Lucy pointed her finger at him, clambering onto her knees. The boy blinked at her in confusion, bright eyes green and wide as his gaze flicked between her finger and her face.

“Uh, do I know you?” he asked, lips thinning when Lucy huffed.

“You weren’t in the library! Where were you? I waited for like ten minutes to watch the stupid season finale and you never showed up!” She said hotly. Lucy pouted when the boy started to laugh.

“You’re the weirdo who always watches my laptop with me!”

“Uh,” Lucy mumbled, flushing harder.

“Was wondering if you’d just stop eventually,” he grinned at her, no malice and a light teasing dancing in his forest green colouring.

“Well then why did you have the subtitles on?” Lucy asked hotly. Honestly, if he had noticed and thought she was weird then why wouldn’t he have just turned them off?

The boy gave her a knowing grin before moving his hands. Realization dawned on Lucy and she felt heat creep up her neck in shame.

“Oh my God he’s deaf,” she whispered to himself.

“And his name is Natsu,” the boy grinned at her, laughing at Lucy jolting and her high squeak. “I can read lips, Weirdo.” Lucy covered her mouth, stopping herself from saying anything else that might offend Natsu. They sat in silence, Lucy worrying her lip. She stood up finally, gathering her bag and offering her hand to Natsu. He gave her an odd look, taking it anyway and smiling at her easily when she helped him up.

“I have a laundry machine in my dorm,” she said slowly, looking at his lip ring pointedly.

“Ya don’t have to,” Natsu started, shocked at her offer. Lucy shrugged, blushing as she realized they were still holding hands.

“Its my fault you spilled your drink all over yourself,” Lucy mumbled, blushing when she realized that Natsu probably couldn’t understand her. She shrugged anyway, pulling Natsu with her. Why’d he have to be so cute though? Ugh, Lucy just wanted to bury herself in her blankets and sleep for a week.

“You know I didn’t hate sharing my laptop with ya. Thought it was a little weird, but I mean look at me. Deaf punk college chem student. I ain’t exactly gonna judge ya for it.” Natsu shrugged, giving her another easy smile. Lucy smiled back, watching the concrete in front of them for a couple seconds. Steeling herself, she tapped on his arm, turning to face him but still only looking at his lip ring. It was silver with a red jewel in the middle, and Lucy thought it stood out nicely against his skin.

“I don’t think you’re weird.” She said, picking up the pace as she pulled Natsu along behind her.

“You don’t even know me yet! What’s your name anyway, Weirdo?”

Lucy pouted at the reoccurring nickname. “It’s Lucy,” She grumbled.

“Lushi?” Natsu sounded out.

“No,” Lucy said, meeting Natsu’s eyes. “Lu-see.” She over-pronounced it, trying her best to make it easier for Natsu to understand.

“Lu-shi,” Natsu sang, slinging his arm over her shoulder. Lucy scoffed as she realized he was making fun of her, elbowing him in the side. She was vindicated when he grunted, his sniggers cut off as she caught his kidney. “So violent,” he mumbled, and Lucy looked at him as she worked out if he had meant for her to hear or not. Deciding he hadn’t meant to speak out loud she let it go, fishing for her key in her bag.

“Uh,” Natsu said, Lucy looking up at him as he scratched the side of his face awkwardly. “We can finish watching White Collar while my shirt’s in the wash?” Natsu offered. Lucy smiled, nodding slightly as she bit her lip to stop it from getting too large. “Cool,” Natsu said, a little loudly. Lucy giggled, ducking her head. Looks like Lucy might be getting her meet-cute anyway.
