Five Times Tony Stark Was a Good Dad (And One Time He Wasn’t)
So, I’m obsessed with the whole idea that Peter is Tony’s unofficial son and it’s only supported by Tony’s appearance in Spider-Man Homecoming, so I came up with this series, which is in the works and also posted on my AO3 account. If you like it or have any suggestions as to where I should take this, please don’t hesitate to let me know! Also, forgive any spelling errors or mistakes, I finished this at three in the morning one night and I was too lazy to go back and fix them. Enjoy!
Tony swore when he was twelve years old that he would never be a father. He remembered that moment clearly, like it had just happened a day ago, not well over thirty years ago. He was in his room, his father still screaming in a drunken rage at his mother over something Tony did, his anger and disappointment following Tony down the hallway of their New York penthouse apartment. He remembered sitting on the cold tile floor of his room, head rest against the heavy wooden door that was doing nothing to muffle his father’s harsh words.
His father was angry, Tony had gotten kicked out of his third private school on the East Coast, the letter expulsion still clutched in his father’s harsh grasp. He wasn’t sure if he had ever seen his father this furious before and Tony knew that the only thing that saved him from taking a glass full of scotch to the face was his mother’s presence in the room. Maria Stark might’ve been docile about a lot of things, but Howard taking his rage out on Tony physically, that would never fly in this house hold.
Tears of anger and embarrassment welled in Tony’s eyes and he wiped them away furiously, refusing to waste anymore energy on that man that he was forced to acknowledge as his father. No matter what Tony did, it was never enough to please Howard Stark. He made his first prototype of an arch reactor at the age of six, Howard wanted it by age five. Tony skipped three grades, Howard wanted him to skip four. Tony, despite his age, was offered a spot at MIT and if Howard had it his way? He would’ve been there a year ago. No matter how much Tony achieved, how many goals he surpassed, he always came up short in Howard’s eyes. Being the constant source of Howard’s disappointment and ire made Tony wonder if he would ever succeed in his father’s eyes, if his dad would ever clap him on the back and say “I’m proud of you, son.”
He wondered, some nights, when he’d lie awake in his too big bed in his too big room in his too big house, if his father had ever wanted children, had wanted Tony.
The thought crossed his mid countless of times, until it latched onto his cerebral cortex and sat there, like the worst form of cancer that had no possible cure.
And while Tony sat there, head resting tiredly against the warm wood, Howard’s voice still echoing down the long hallway, that cancer spread until it proved fatal.
He never wanted his children to feel like this.
A complete and utter failure.
Tony was self-aware enough to know that the apple didn’t fall far from the tree, that human nature was a pattern and patterns were destined to repeat themselves, without fail. Anger and rage and disappointment were the only form of affection Tony was used to getting to his father. His father was a cold man, always keeping Tony at a distance that no matter how hard he tried, Tony could never quite breach.
And Tony knew, no matter how hard he tried, he would always end up like his father.
Peter Parker came into his life unexpectedly and despite popular opinion, unplanned. He’d been keep tabs on the Spider-Kid since the kid popped up on his radar a few months ago, clad in that god awful homemade leotard/hoodie contraption and flying around Queens on his webs with all the grace of a child learning to walk for the first time. Tony never planned to actually meet the kid behind the mask or reaching out to the flying kid in his homemade costume, but when the Avengers disbanded and the only family Tony had ever known was decreasing in numbers, he needed back up.
Looking back, his intentions were purely selfish and it shamed him to admit, when he dropped the kid back off in his sketchy neighborhood in Queens with the new suit he’d made him, he never had any intention of keeping in contact with the kid.
To absolve himself from the guilt, he appointed Happy as his chaperone and threw himself into creating new legs for Rhodey, another way to attempting to soothe ache of guilt that had settled along with the shrapnel, in his battered heart.
He underestimated Peter, who was pushy and persistent and finally, after three months, Happy threw his phone at Tony and told him to call the kid. That night, Tony, with a glass of scotch in hand, filtered through the hundreds of voicemails Peter had left Happy—anecdotes of his daily patrols, everything from helping old ladies cross the street, stopping bike thieves to getting cats out of trees. Each story was told with excruciating detail, in that excited ramble the kid got whenever he was particularly enthused about something and warmth settled around Tony’s heart, fond amusement making his lips curl into his first genuine smile in months.
It took Tony another week to reach out to the kid, but he did and that’s how he found himself, in one of his more flashier cars, sitting outside of Peter’s school. He ignored the gawking, the stunned stares and the whispers of the students filtering out of the school, his eyes scanning the crowd before they landed on a familiar head of messy hair.
Peter was talking excitedly to the chubby, dark haired Asian kid by his side, who was nodding along to everything Peter said with a look of pure wonder on his face and Tony wondered briefly if his little friend knew that his BFF moonlighted as a super-hero in spandex at night.
Another kid appeared by Peter’s side and Tony watched as Peter visibly tensed and tried to skirt around the kid, but the kid threw a hand out and stopped Peter in his tracks.
The cocky grin that appeared on the kid’s face was all too familiar to Tony and before he could even second guess himself, he was out of his car and walking towards the three boys, ignoring the murmurs coming from the crowd.
“—when are you gonna stop lying about your internship with Tony Stark, Penis Parker? There’s no way someone like Tony Stark would ever take on a charity case like you—“
Peter looked up when he heard the murmuring crowd fall to a hush and his gaze landed on Tony. The amount of surprise in the kid’s features made Tony’s gut clench that in no way had to do with the greasy cheeseburger he ate on the way over here.
“M-Mr. Stark, what, uh, what are you doing here?” Peter stammered, flicking his gaze back to would be bully in front of him.
“Yeah, Parker, like I’m gonna fall for that—“
“Is there a problem here, gentlemen?” Tony interrupted, smirking in satisfaction when the kid that was giving Peter a hard time, froze, turning his disbelieving eyes on to Tony.
“Y-You-You’re Tony Stark.” He said faintly, his voice shaking.
Tony smirked, “Astute observation and you are?”
The kid gulped, his adams apple bobbing harshly, “F-Flash Thompson.”
“Makes sense,” Tony said with a nod of his head, looking the kid up and down, “I’d bully someone too, if my parents named me after the lamest superhero to ever grace the pages of a comic book, overcompensation and all that,” Tony said thoughtfully, “especially with your perceived fixation on the male genitalia. Tell me, did it take you a while to come up with something that juvenile or did you have someone equally as childish think it up for you? Because I would think someone with—and I’m assuming here, so correct me if my deductive reasoning skills are off—a high level of intelligence would come up with something a little bit more creative than ‘Penis Parker’.”
By the time Tony was done, the crowd around him was snickering and the kid in front of him looked like he wanted nothing more than the ground to open up and swallow him whole, if such things were possible.
Tony smiled, but there was nothing nice about, “Now, if I ever catch wind of you so much as looking in Peter’s direction again and trust me, kid, I’ve got my ways, I have no issue siccing my AI on all your school records and wreaking havoc on your future plans for any Ivy League schools, you reading me kid?”
Flash nodded so vigorously he resembled a bobble head, “Y-Yes, Sir.”
Tony smiled, this one much more kind than the last, “Good, I’m glad we could reach an understanding, now running along so I can talk to my intern here without your sorry excuse for cologne clouding my senses, seriously kid less is more.”
Flash tucked his proverbial tail between his legs and pushed through the crowd of people that were now openly laughing, losing interest in Tony in favor of chasing after Flash to mock him.
Tony shouldn’t feel as proud as he did, but he knew what it was like to be bullied and he’d be damned if his kid—ahem, someone like Peter had to deal with someone as childish as Flash Thompson every day and it was within his power to do something about it. Like kid didn’t already have enough to deal with as it was.
He turned back to see a dumbfounded Peter and his equally as flabbergasted friend.
“That was—” Peter began, but seemed to be at a loss for words, shaking his head in disbelief.
His friend, however, didn’t seem to have that particular problem.
“—AWESOME!” His friend said excitedly, “oh man did you see Flash’s face? Dude, this is greatest thing to ever happen to me. Tony Stark just verbally assaulted Flash, Jesus dude, how is this your life? If you ever want to trade, even if it’s just for a day, I’m totally down—“
“Ned.” Peter muttered, elbowing him roughly, giving a rough jerk of his head in Tony’s direction. He flicked his apologetic gaze over to Tony, who simply rolled his eyes, but he couldn’t deny the amused smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
Ned followed his gaze and flushed, “Right, sorry.”
Peter closed his eyes for a moment and Tony could see the kid physically trying to fight off his embarrassment and couldn’t help but chuckle.
Peter’s eyes snapped open at the sound and the surprise and confusion from earlier was back, “Mr. Stark, what are you doing here? At my school? Is everything okay? Is there a—“ Peter glanced around in a sad attempt at nonchalance and lowered his voice to an equally as sad attempt at a whisper, “—mission?” he asked, wiggling his eyebrows in a manner that was making Tony wonder if the kid had a weird twitch he’d never noticed before.
Tony glanced over at Ned quickly, going back to his original curiosity of how much the kid actually knew about his arachnid friend here, but Ned seemed to catch on to Tony’s unasked question.
“Don’t worry Mr. Stark, sir, I’m Peter’s Guy In The Chair.” Ned answered helpfully, giving him a bright smile.
Tony glanced back over at Peter with a raised eyebrow, who simply muttered “dude” in an exasperated tone, shaking his head before returning his attention to Tony, “Ned knows.”
“Oh, well, in that case, no, there is no…mission,” Tony said in a mock whisper, making Peter flush, “I’m working on a new Iron Man suit and I need to pick your brain for some ideas on upgrades, figured I’d swing by and pick you up from school today.”
Peter’s eyes widened and Ned seemed torn between fainting or peeing himself from excitement.
“You get to touch the Iron Man suit?!” He squeaked, turning his wide-eyed gaze over to Peter, who only gave Ned a look, who bit his lip sheepishly, but looked like he was ready to explode from the level of his enthusiasm.
Peter ignored him, “I was supposed to help Ned finish the lego Death Star today, we were supposed to do it yesterday, but I uh, kinda got caught up on patrol.” Peter gave Tony a guilty shrug of his shoulders.
“So let me get this straight,” Tony said slowly, “you’re turning down quality time in my personal lab to build a lego Death Star with Ned over here?”
Peter’s eyes had lit up at the mentions of Tony’s lab, but with quick glance at a wide eyed Ned, who seemed to be stuck on the fact that Tony Stark said his name, his excitement dimmed. But Peter was loyal, almost to a fault, and nodded resolutely.
Tony, seemingly at a loss for words, just stood there, shellshocked at being told no, by a fifteen year old kid at that. A small part of Tony, the one that was actually looking forward to hanging out with the kid, was slightly hurt at the rejection.
Ned, who’d been watching the entire scene with wide eyes, was more observant than he looked and seemed to sense Peter’s indecision and Tony’s disappointment, because he gave his friend a bright smile, “Dude, we can finish the Death Star anytime and besides, my mom wanted me home tonight to help her with something, so I’m booked, raincheck?” He offered.
Peter glanced at Ned then at Tony and then back to Ned, “Um, sure Ned, no problem.”
Ned gave him a smile and then turning his attention back to Tony, his friendly smiled turned a bit more to the manic grin that most people wore in Tony’s presence, “It was really nice to meet you Mr. Stark.”
He offered Peter a fist bump, who returned it, before he started walking down the side walk, towards, what Tony assumed, was home.
Turning his attention back to the kid, he gave him a smile, “Good good, now we should probably be on our way if we want to avoid traffic. Now, as far as suit upgrades go, I was thinking of up-ing the suit’s repulsers a bit—hey, kid, you coming?” Tony asked from his position on the driver’s side, raising an eyebrow at Peter, who was still standing on the side walk. Tony followed his gaze and saw Ned still making his way down the sidewalk and chancing a glance back at Peter, who was still watching him with big, guilty eyes, he sighed.
The things I do for you, kid, Tony thought to himself.
“Hey, Ned,” Tony shouted, making the kid pause and turn around, looking to Peter, who was watching Tony with the beginnings of a smile, then back to Tony curiously, “would you like to join us? There’s plenty of room in the lab for three people.”
Even from a few yards away, Tony could see the kid’s eyes widen in surprise before he hustled his way back to an equally excited Peter, who shot him a grateful look.
“Thank you, Mr. Stark.” He said quietly, giving him a bright smile.
And Tony couldn’t help but smile back, “You’re welcome, kiddo,” eyeing a panting Ned warily, “make sure he doesn’t do anything…weird, okay? I don’t mind opening my lab to him but there was something in his eyes when I was talking about the Iron Man suit that made me decidedly uncomfortable.”
Peter gave a breathy laugh, “Don’t worry, Mr. Stark, Ned’s cool.”
Ned, who had come to a slightly sweaty stop in from them, looked up at Tony with wide eyes, “Can I try on the Iron Man helmet?”
Tony spent the majority of their time in lab just watching Peter and Ned run around like kids in a candy store—picking things up, playing with the robots—DUM-E taking a special liking to Peter, who, Tony was pleased to see, treated him like a human, thanking him when he brought them water from the stocked fridge and smiling when DUM-E beeped happily in return—and played with all the gadgets laying around.
Tony, albeit wearily, let them try on one of the Iron Man helmets from one of his earlier models and explained to them how the suit worked, both of them hanging on to his every word. He showed them the blue prints for his newest model, listening to their suggestions and even writing a few them down to look into later.
Ned, Tony found out, was rather intelligent with computers. He gave him one of his old security systems and watched with genuine interest as the kid hacked into the the files with ease and recoded the entire system in a matter of minutes.
When Tony looked it over, he let out a grunt of an approval, “Nice work, kid.”
Ned all but fainted at Tony’s praise.
The hours slipped by and F.R.I.D.A.Y. being the helpful AI that she is, had ordered pizzas without Tony even having to ask and had them sent to the kitchen, alerting them when they had arrived. Tony led them up to the kitchen, watching with thinly veiled amusement as they both took in every new surrounding with the same amount of interest they had shown in the lab.
Tony continued to observe them as they tore into the pizza like they hadn’t eaten in days and taking a quick glance at the clock, he realized with a flash of guilt, that they had been down in the lab for over four hours and the last time they had probably eaten something would’ve been well over seven or eight hours ago.
It was nice, Tony deiced, listening to their mindless chatter and what was especially nice, was seeing how at ease Peter was with his friend, looking like a true fifteen year old with his friend over to his house on a school night, like he didn’t have super powers, like he didn’t dress up in tight spandex and web his way through Queens and fight crime at night while trying to balance a normal life.
The thought nagged at Tony for the rest of dinner and as he rode silently with them in the backseat while Happy drove them all to Ned’s apartment first, who still looked like he couldn’t believe today was real, thanking Tony breathlessly for the best day of his life and telling Peter he’d see him tomorrow at school.
Peter watched his friend with a small, amused smile and when they got to Peter’s apartment building, Tony glanced over at the kid, the smile still had yet to leave his face.
“Alright kid, this is your stop,” Tony said, making a move to undo his seatbelt, but the kid’s hesitant voice made him pause.
“Mr. Stark?” Peter said softly, clearing his throat, “I uh, just wanted to thank you, you know for well, everything,” the kid breathed, smiling up at him so sincerely that it made Tony’s chest ache in the best sort of way, “today was amazing and I really appreciate you inviting Ned along with us, he really looks up to you, you know? And I haven’t really been able to spend much time with him since, y’know, the whole Spider-Man thing.”
The kid paused before continuing on in a softer voice, “And about Flash, I really, really don’t know how to thank you for that,” he rubbed the back of his neck, clearly embarrassed, “it’s kind of funny, in a way, I’m a sort of super-hero and I can’t even stand up to a bully—“
Tony’s heart squeezed painfully in his chest at the kid’s self-deprecation, “Look, kid, I’m no stranger to bullies,” he began, sighing heavily, “I had my fair share of them when I was in school and even in college. I learned that while you may no be able to physically fight someone, you can always fight them with words and sometimes, words can hurt more than your fists. All I did was give that Flash kid a taste of his own medicine and hopefully, got him off your case.”
Peter was silent for a moment, considering Tony’s words before giving him another appreciative smile, “I don’t think Flash will be messing with me anytime soon, but still, thank you,” Peter’s smile turned shy, “you’re the first adult, other than May, to stand up for me and I really appreciate it, so thank you, Mr. Stark.”
“Call me Tony,” Tony offered after a beat of silence, unsure of how to respond to such a statement.
Whatever he was trying to say, the kid got, because he smiled brightly and Tony, suddenly feeling awkward at the unusual sentimental moment, busied himself with unbuckling his seatbelt, ignoring the warmth in his chest.
He reached around the kid to open the door for him and Peter, rather than getting out, just like last time, he reached up and wrapped his arms around Tony, thinking he was hugging him
“This um, wasn’t a hug,” Tony began awkwardly, “I’m just getting the door for you.”
However, before the kid could pull away, Tony wrapped his arms around him and gave him a quick, but firm squeeze.
Peter gave him another smile before wishing Tony and Happy a goodnight, getting out of the car and making his way up towards his apartment. Tony debated on his next move, mulling it over quickly and before the kid could get too far, he found himself making a snap decision and rolling down he window.
“Hey, Underoos,” Tony started, slightly unsure when the kid turned around and looked at Tony with hopeful eyes.
“Same time, same place tomorrow?” He said after a moment of silence, the kid’s answering grin melting away any self doubt before it could begin.
“Sure Mr.Stark—Tony,” Peter stuttered excitedly, “sounds great!”
Tony watched the kid go with a satisfied smiled, so caught up in his happy little pseudo-family moment that he almost didn’t hear his phone ring.
Not even bothering to glance at the caller I.D., he answered it with a smooth, “Stark.”
“Tony?! What the hell we’re you thinking going to a school and threatening a minor, A MINOR—“
Warnings: Smut and LOTS of it; a bit of drama too. There’s a lot of everything going on here so you might pick your blanket because this is also long af.
Summary: When Jane leaves Thor, in your heart you know he should stay with you, but as time goes by, his brother realizes that there is more to it.
A/N: I need Jesus, and when you finish reading this, you’re gonna need him too. My characters know they need Jesus, so that should tell you something. Feedback? It won’t hurt!
You poured some shampoo on your hand and gently
started to massage your scalp with it. “So,” you started feeling the soft foam
form in your hair, “I got a call from your brother yesterday,” you let the warm
water run down your soapy self as you awaited for your boyfriend’s answer.
“Really? Thor knows how to make a phone call?”
Loki snickered from the toilet seat. “Well, that is quite the surprise,” he
shook his head.
“The thing is that he broke up with Jane just a
few days ago and even though it wasn’t a lot, she’s given him some time to move
out,” you casually said trying to elicit some kind of reaction from his
uninterested being. “He’s really bummed, y’know?”
“I bet,” Loki pondered, “I’d be utterly
destroyed if you dumped my ass,” he conceded, “but why are we talking about him
“Well, I’ve been doing some thinking about it
and… I wanted to ask you if he could stay here for a while,” you stuck your
head from the end of the curtain and looked at him innocently. “I kinda owe him
that…” you bit your bottom lip.
“How so?” He ran his fingers through his ebony
“When SHIELD first sent me to the States I
ended my renting contract with my landlord and I moved there, and when the
agency died after the whole Winter Soldier thing I realized I had no home to go
back to; Jane was still there and when your brother came to earth he stayed
with her, so he asked Jane if I could live with them until I got my own place…”
you sheepishly said as you rinsed the shampoo from your head. “I stayed there
with them for like 4 months, so maybe he could stay here for that same time
too, if you don’t mind,” you broke it down. “Can you pass me the towel,
please?” You reached out your arm and he handed the soft cloth.
“What about our life?” He asked in a concerned
voice. “I mean let’s face it, love; we are not the quietest ones and Thor isn’t
either; he snores like a chainsaw,” he pointed out.
“Yeah, but we’ll have to be a bit more quiet
and just… hold on?” You drew back the curtain and got out with Loki’s help.
“Let me return him the favor, it’ll be for just a little, okay?” You looked at
him with puppy eyes, it always worked with him. “Can we?”
“You’re gonna be the death of me,” he shook his
head and unmade the towel, making it fall onto the humid tiles. “I might
consider it,” he effortlessly lifted you in his arms, making you wrap your legs
around his waist, “but only if you bribe me,” he mischievously smiled and
headed for the room.
And just a few days after that, Thor was
setting up this few belongings in the spare room of your apartment. He was really
embarrassed for having to ask you that. He knew he was invading your privacy
and your couple life with Loki, but he really didn’t have much choice or
friends in the United Kingdom.
“It’s okay, big guy,” you placed a hand on his
shoulder when he sat on the bed in defeat. “I know it hurts and all, but…
you’ll be fine eventually, give it some time and you’ll see how things turn
alright,” you shrugged lightly, “besides you’re living with us now, we’re gonna
have fun!” You smiled widely and wrapped your arms around his shoulders. He
rested his head on your chest and wrapped his arms around your waist. “Now
come, and we’ll ask for something to eat for dinner,” you said.
“Tell me something good,” you whispered as you stared at your hand interlaced with Harry’s.
Harry let out a sniff before he smiled sadly at you. He squeezed your hand softly. “Like what, love?” he whispered just as softly.
You bit your bottom lip as you pondered what story you should have your husband tell. Your eyes lit up as you smiled softly. “Tell me about the first time you realized you loved me.” Harry let out a chuckle as he stared at the tiled floor underneath him. “You’ve heard this story a million times, love.”
You nodded your head as you gave Harry’s hand a small squeeze. “I know. I just want to hear it again.” Harry let out another sniff and smiled. “It was four years ago…”
Harry was sitting at his dining room table with a look of frustration on his face. He stared at the papers in front of him he needed to get sort out for his big meeting tomorrow. Tomorrow all eyes were going to be on him. This was going to be Harry’s make it or break it of his career. If the tiniest thing goes wrong, Harry can kiss his future goodbye. He grabbed his phone and sighed as he saw no messages from you. He really needed you right now. Although you guys haven’t dated long, Harry knew you were something special. He knew that in a time like this, you were able to calm him down. So when you weren’t responding to him, you could say that he was freaking out.
Harry let out a groan as he heard someone knocking on his door. He got up from the table, ready to tell whoever was at the door to get lost. When he opened the door he saw you. Instantly he smiled. “What are you doing here?”
You had your hands behind your back, holding something out of Harry’s sight. You shifted your weight from your heels to your toes. “I know you’ve been stressing out about tomorrow. I wanted to get your mind away from it. Just for a little bit.”
Harry’s heart warmed at the thought that you weren’t ignoring him that in fact, you were doing something for him. Harry nodded his head as he let you into his apartment. You walked inside, careful to not show Harry what was behind your back. You and Harry walked over to the living room and sat down. “So what did you bring, love?” Harry said as he nodded your heads towards you.
You smiled as you brought out a basket full of goodies for him. Harry’s eyebrows raised as he looked at you. You laughed and nodded your head, telling him to go on and see what was inside. The basket was filled with all of Harry’s favorite things. His favorite tea, his favorite biscuits, his favorite candle, you even brought bananas!
Harry there his head back in laughter as he pulled out an avocado with a neatly wrapped ribbon on it. You let out a chuckle as you shrugged your shoulders. “Figured you could use it for breakfast before the meeting.”
Harry wrapped his arms around you and pulled you into a hug. He kissed the top of your head. “Love, this was all so sweet. Thank you.”
“Even though we weren’t dating that long, you managed to remember every little detail about me. You listened to everything I said, even when they were silly thoughts. It was in that moment that I knew I loved you.” Harry said as he brought your hand to his lip and gave it a small kiss. You smiled at Harry and looked away before you looked back at him. “I can’t believe you’ve managed to keep the basket all this time.”
Harry let out a chuckle before he shook his head. “I’m never getting rid of it.”
A moment of silence passed between the both of you. The only sound heard was the occasion sniff. You were staring at the ceiling before you asked, “Remember that big fight we had?”
Harry shook his head as he looked at you. “I don’t want to think about that right now, love.” You shook your head quickly, “Do you remember what we promised when it was over?”
Harry was staring at his lap. He smiled softly and nodded. “We promised to never let things get that bad.”
You and Harry were both breathing hard from the screaming match you guys had. You don’t remember how the fight started. All you knew was that both you and Harry were mad and no one was going to crack and apologize.
You gave Harry one more cold stare before you marched upstairs to your shared bedroom. You slammed the door and locked it. Harry was quick to run after you. When he tried opening the door, he let out a groan and slammed his fist against the door. “Y/N! It’s my room too! You can’t lock me out!”
You rolled your eyes as you began getting ready for bed. “Fuck off! Sleep on the couch for all I care!”
The next morning you woke up expecting the fight to be resolved between the two of you but instead it seemed like things were worse. You went downstairs to see Harry’s makeshift bed on the couch. Harry walked out from the kitchen, a mug of tea in his hand. His eyes followed your gaze. He let out a scoff, “I hope you feel bad I had to sleep on that lumpy couch.”
Your eyes furrowed. You crossed your arms before you bitterly said, “If you weren’t such an ass…” And then another fight began. On the third day of the fight, you were coming home from maybe one of the worst days of your life. It seemed like everything you did at work was wrong. You didn’t have enough cash for lunch and you lost your credit card, your boss yelled at you for something that was beyond your control, you accidentally ripped your skirt meaning you had to sit and stand awkwardly for the rest of your shift; it was just a terrible day.
When you got home with tears in your eyes, Harry was quick to drop the attitude and the fight as he rushed to your side. He pulled you into his arms as you sobbed into his arms. “I’m so sorry, H.” You cried. Harry shushed you as he pulled you closer to him. “I’m sorry too, love.”
“I’m so tired, H.” you whispered. Harry could feel your hold on his hand slowly getting weaker. Harry’s eyes widened with panic. In an attempt to make his time with you last a little bit longer, Harry asked, “Do you remember how nervous I was when I said my vows to you?”
You let out a cough before you chuckled, “I thought you were going to pass out if I’m being honest.”
The room was silent as you read your vows to Harry. Literally, you could see almost every guest tear up with how manful your vows were. Harry was sniffling himself as he listened to every promise you made to him. The pastor gave you a nod as he turned to Harry. “And now Harry will say his vows.”
Harry’s eyes widened. He pulled out his vows from his jacket pocket. Because his hands were so shaky, the piece of paper fell. You, along with a couple of guests, chuckled. Harry cleared his throat. With a shaky voice, “Y/N. When asked what is my biggest achievement in life, I will always say it was meeting you. I will say that it was managing to get someone as beautiful and amazing as you to fall in love with someone as clumsy and dorky as me. Before you, I have never been in love. Now I know what it is. Love is looking into your eyes and feeling happiness. Love is you laughing at all my awful jokes. Love is being with you. I promise to always be in love with you. I promise to take care of you when you’re sick. I promise to be with you till we’re old. On this day, on our wedding day, I promise you.”
Harry’s eyes began to water as he recalled his vows to you. You let out a smile, trying to make light of the situation. “I’m sorry you won’t be able to accomplish those things.”
Harry shook his head as he let out a sob. He rested his head on your hospital bed. You began crying yourself. You ran your hand over Harry’s hair. In between Harry’s sobs he choked out, “Please don’t go, Y/N.”
You let out a deep breath. “I’ve been fighting this battle for too long, H.” Harry looked up at you. “I’m afraid what life is going to be like when you’re gone.”
You motioned Harry to come closer. You placed your hands on the side of his face. “I love you. And being with you has been the best time of my life. I’m so honored to be able to say I died your wife.”
Harry closed his eyes as he placed his hands on top of yours. “Please, Y/N.” You shook your head as you continued, “Please don’t live your life in pain when I’m gone. I can’t die peacefully knowing that you’re wasting your time being sad. Live your life, Harry. Live it as if I’m still there with you.”
Not being able to hold himself any longer, Harry leaned in and gave you a kiss. It was so soft and so gentle. It was a goodbye kiss. You kissed him back, savoring the taste of him for one last time. Harry pulled away from the kiss and rested his forehead against yours. “I love you, Y/N Styles.”
You choked back your own sob. “I will love you to the moment I die, Harry.” And even though they’ve told Harry multiple times that he couldn’t get into bed with you, he climbed on to your hospital bed. He carefully made sure he didn’t mess with the wires as placed his head on your chest, “I’m going to miss you so much, Y/N.”
You wrapped your arms around him, letting him be the little spoon, for this was probably going to be the last time you would be able to hold him like this.

You stood behind the podium and stared out into the boardroom. The group of unamused business men clad in suits that costs 6 months of your rent stared back at you. The youthful face of the CEO stood out amongst the wrinkled frowns of everyone else in the room. You tried not to stare, or at least not let him notice you were staring. You had been working for this corporation for 3 months but you still hadn’t gotten used to the idea that Namjoon was your boss. Granted, there weren’t many CEO’s in their 20’s anyway.
But he was handsome. His dirty blonde hair always sat messily upon his head. Thick black framed glasses sat perfectly on his face while two dimples frame the sides of his perfect lips. Not that you had notice his perfect lips to begin with. Namjoon was your boss, a mantra that you had to remind yourself on a daily basis because if it weren’t for that then you would certainly be wanting to get him in the supply closet. But Namjoon was your boss.
Taking a deep breath, you started your presentation. It seemed like all the knowledge your fancy degree had given you went out the window as soon as you started to speak. You weren’t even sure if it was english, but before you knew it you had reached the last slide. Silence filled the room as the men in suits took in the last of your words. “Any questions?” you asked.
There was no response. Just pairs of empty eyes staring back at you. The overwhelming feeling of failure creeped into your bones as you stood awkwardly in place, unsure of what to do. Finally, the grumpiest of all the men raised an eyebrow and started to speak, “How is this relevant to our company? The ideas you are proposing are very provocative, but we don’t run the business this way. It seems a little out of reach, don’t you think?”
Summary: AU, After a night of heavy drinking, Betty Cooper realizes she’s left a series of revealing messages on her crush and roommate, Jughead Jones’s phone.
Warnings: Mentions of drinking, swearing, sexual dialogue but mostly embarrassing fluff.
A/N: I’ve edited this myself so I apologize for errors.
Betty Cooper’s head was pounding. She had made the mistake of going out with her roommates Cheryl Blossom and Veronica Lodge to celebrate the end of finals. Now she was sitting at their kitchen island cradling a cup of coffee, trying to figure out if IHOP delivered.
“Good Morning!” Cheryl sang as she skipped into the kitchen and poured herself a cup of coffee. Her luscious red was piled up on top of her head and her skin was glowing. She looked like an angel not someone who had partied hard the night before. “How are you?” She asked Betty.
“I’m so hungover” Betty groaned resting her head on her arms. “I’ve never been this hungover.”
“Yeah, you really shouldn’t have done all those shots of Liquid Cocaine.” Cheryl chuckled and began taking out a few frying pans. “You want some bacon and eggs?” She asked.
“I do!” Veronica answered, her silk black robe trailing behind her matching her beautiful black hair. She walked up to Cheryl and gave her a soft kiss. Cheryl and Veronica had been dating since before they had left Riverdale and their relationship was goals.
“How are you guys not hungover?” Betty asked.
“We didn’t do three shots of tequila and then perform a Coyote Ugly style dance on the bar. You drank so much you should be dead.” Veronica informed.
“I wish I was dead.” Betty said sliding off her stool and laid on the floor. “The tile is so cold. I love the tile.”
“You’ve seen better days, Cooper.” Jughead Jones exited his bedroom from the other side of the loft and sat in the stool Betty just occupied. Jughead was Betty’s fourth and final roommate and she had developed a deep crush on him since the four of them had moved from Massachusetts to California for school.
Jughead had blossomed in the sunshine state. He had taken up surfing and gotten a tan, transforming himself into a ripped golden god. Whatever girls didn’t like about his moodiness in Riverdale, they loved here. Betty hated that she didn’t make a move sooner and now that he was bedding Californian goddesses, she knew she didn’t stand a chance.
“Oh god.” She muttered rolling onto her back. She was so dehydrated she could hear herself blinking. She focused on Jughead messy mop of black hair when he appeared above her.
“Up we go.” He said lifting her into the sitting position. “Take these,” he dropped two extra strength Advil in her palm. “And drink the entire glass.” He instructed.
She did as she was told and steadied herself against him when she stood up. “I need to go back to sleep.”
“Yes, you do.” Jughead agreed walking her back to her room. “Do you need to use the washroom?” He asked.
“I’m not a child, Jug.” Betty snapped.
“Oh, I’m sorry, were you not just rolling around on the floor moaning?” He cocked an eyebrow and helped her into bed. She got underneath the covers and he tucked her in. “Get more rest, you’re gonna need it.” He winked and left her room, closing her door.
Her brow furrowed at her choice of words but she was too tired to give it much more thought than that.
She woke up at 3 in the afternoon feeling much better. Still hungover but manageable. She stumbled out into the living room and found Jughead reading a book. “There she is!” He exclaimed. “I got more Advil out and grabbed some water. There is some left over Thai from lunch in he fridge if you are hungry.”
Betty grabbed the Advil, headed over to the kitchen and began heating up her food. Once the Thai was nice and hot she made way back over to the couch.
“Are you feeling better?” He asked not looking up from his book.
“Mmmm” She answered with a mouth full of food.
“Do you remember anything from last night?” He questioned.
She shook her head. “Not really.”
“So you don’t remember dancing on the bar?” He inquired.
She shook her head.
“You don’t remember leading the whole bar in a rendition of ‘Come On Eileen’?”
“How do you know this? You weren’t even there”
“Cheryl was sending me videos.” He paused. “Do you remember making a phone call?”
“It’s 2018, Juggie, no one makes phone calls anymore.” She rolled her eyes and took a gulp of her water.
“You sure about that?” He asked again.
“I haven’t spoken on a phone in like two years.”
Jughead took out his cell, began scrolling and finally pushed a button. He held it up so they could both hear it.
“Jughead, mother fucking, Jones.” Betty’s gravelly drunken voice rasped out of the phone.
Her eyes widened and she started choking on her food.
“You fucking idiot with your stupid hat and your stupid attitude and your stupid face like you don’t know how amazing you are. Well, I guess you kinda do now with that revolving bevy of girls in our apartment all the time. And what is wrong with me huh? I’m hot, I’ve had six guys hit on me tonight. Six!”
She heard herself yell through the phone and she buried her head in her arms. “No, no, no.” She repeated over and over again.
“I’m smart too and my personality is okay, so what’s your problem Jughead, huh? I’ve been told that my vagina is like, the actual best. Like, what do I need to do? I guess there is a possibility that you aren’t interested in me but I’m the tits so why wouldn’t you be.” She paused. “Another thing, you actual piece of shit-” She was cut off and he lowered the phone.
“Please tell me I didn’t call you back.” She asked, looking at him through her fingers.
He was smirking and she wanted to smack him. “That was the first of fifteen messages. My favorite was how you told me that you obsess over how big my penis is but it’s probably just normal size and that you should stop worrying about it because this isn’t a romance novel.” He chuckled.
She made a whiny, crying sound, her face burning hot.
He didn’t say anything like she expected. She expected him to tease her, she expected him to tell her that they were friends but their relationship wouldn’t be anything more than that but he didn’t. She felt his weight on the couch beside her. “Why didn’t you tell me?” He asked.
“Would it made a difference if I did?”
“Uh, yeah, kind of a big difference, do you know how you appear to others? Do you know how intimidating you are?” His voice was soft and sincere.
“What are you talking about?” She snapped, rubbing her temples.
“You’re beautiful, smart and funny. You make everything seem so effortless, you should date an architect or something.”
“Why is everyone so obsessed with architects?” She moaned, falling back into the cushions of the sofa.
Jughead sighed. “Betty, did you ever think about just asking me out?”
She threw him some serious side eye. “Oh yeah Jug, I’ll just walk up to you and be like, ‘Hey, I know we’ve known each other forever and I’ve ignored you for most of it but now that you’re all hot and dating models and shit, you wanna go out on a date?’” She scoffed.
“Okay.” He replied.
“What?” She sat up quickly, wincing when he head throbbed.
“I’ll go out with you.”
“Why? You date hipster girls who wear glasses they don’t need and are way too big for their face. You date girls who always look good in a romper, always have perfect Coachella hair and eat avocado toast everyday. I go days without showering, I’ve slept in the library more than once, I’ve dropped a McDonalds hamburger on the ground and still ate it because I had spent my last dollar on it and it was all I could eat for 17 hours until I got paid. Last night I threw up in my hamper-”
Jughead cut her off with a kiss. Betty was taken aback by the sudden gesture and it took her body a moment to relax and really accept what was happening. Betty had fantasized about this moment every night for months. What he would smell like, what he was taste like, how he would feel. He tasted like the cinnamon tic tacs he was always eating, spicy and sweet. He smelled like clean laundry, the sea and coconuts from using the girls shampoo all the time. Betty ran her hands through his hair bringing him closer to her. His body was hard and muscular and he pushed it against her, his skin warm and tan and so different from what she expected.
He parted from her, a smile on his face. “I’ve wanted to do that for a long time.”
“Liar.” Betty whispered, her eyes still closed.
“Betty, I’ve had a thing for your since the ninth grade.” He admitted, kissing her again.
“Do you want to take this into the bedroom?” She cooed running her hands over his chest.
Her head jerked back. “What? Why? You take all these girls to bed and not me?”
“Betty, you aren’t all girls, you’re the girl.” He smiled and kissed her again.
She smiled back. “Can you please, for the love of god, delete all the messages I left you.”
“Um, absolutely not, this shit belongs in the MOMA.” He took out his phone. “Prepare yourself for message number two.”
prompt:“wait a minute. are you jealous?” + “i’ve seen the way you look at me when you think i don’t notice” + “just admit i’m right” + “say it” + “if you don’t like my teasing, then why are you moaning?”

“Hey, Tony. Are you down here?”
The sound of Y/N’s voice bounced off of the concrete walls of Tony’s lab as she descended the spiral staircase a few minutes past midnight. The lights in the lab were left switched on so Y/N assumed Tony had to be down there, somewhere. It wasn’t a surprise, really; Tony loved tinkering with his projects and inventions in the dead of night and even though most of the time the noise of drills and saws was annoying when everyone was trying to sleep, at times like these it was actually quite comforting.
“I’m in here!” Tony called back and Y/N followed the sound of his voice until she found him sitting behind his desk, seemingly inputting some data into four computers at once. The sight was quite amusing and Y/N found herself smiling upon hearing F.R.I.D.A.Y. urging him to slow down or maybe take a break.
“Try lecture me one more time and I swear, I’ll cut off your power supply,” Tony threatened and just like that, F.R.I.D.A.Y. decided it might be best not to say another word.
“Bickering with your own inventions? Wow, Tony. I think you might have hit rock bottom.”
The brunette chuckled at her comment and lifted his gaze as she walked around his desk and quietly slid onto it. She situated herself in front of one of the screens, her feet dangling above the tiled floor.
“What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be in bed?” Tony asked out of plain curiosity and smiled when Y/N reached for his steaming mug of coffee and took a tiny sip.
“Couldn’t sleep,” she answered simply and closed her eyes, feeling the pleasant warmth of Tony’s coffee warming up her insides. It was pretty darn cold in his lab and all she was wearing was an oversized t-shirt and some fuzzy socks.
“Is there something on your mind? You never wander around the place at night,” Tony observed and Y/N chuckled quietly.
“I do, actually.” She took another sip and placed the mug in her lap. “I just never wander near your lab or bedroom. I’ve had trouble sleeping a lot the last few months.”
Tony tore his gaze away from the screen of his computer and looked at her with mild concern in his eyes. He knew how horrible it was to not be able to fall asleep, even when you were dead tired. The idea of Y/N struggling with the same sleeping problem as him didn’t in the least bit thrill him.
“Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” she told him with a small smile, then decided to change the topic. “Do you happen to have a blanket lying around here somewhere? I’m gonna freeze to death.”
Tony shook his head but then quickly remembered the grey hoodie draped over the back of his chair. Y/N thanked him quietly when he handed it to her and began to struggle to push her arms through the sleeves.
“You know, I don’t think it’s wise to be parading around an air conditioned building in nothing but a shirt. Or hanging out in a basement. These places tend to be quite chilly.”
Tony laughed and Y/N did, too, pulling the hood up over her messy hair.
“It helps me sleep,” she admitted and Tony quirked an eyebrow.
“What does? Not having pants on?”
Y/N nudged him with her hand. “No, you idiot. It’s Steve’s shirt. Being surrounded by the scent of another person helps me fall asleep.”
Tony looked at her with his brows furrowed. He kind of understood what she meant; back when he was still dating Pepper, her presence in his bed made it just that tiny bit easier to fall asleep. But knowing this didn’t stop Tony from wondering why on earth it was Steve’s shirt she was wearing.
And Y/N, noticing his confusion, decided to elaborate.
“I didn’t steal it from his laundry pile, if that’s what you’re thinking,” she giggled. “Can you imagine the lecture he’d give me about righteousness and whatnot?”
Tony could, in fact, picture it; very clearly, actually. He could almost see Steve waving his hands in the air and talking to Y/N as if she were a child who had misbehaved.
“Then how exactly did you obtain this article of clothing?” Tony wondered aloud and Y/N glanced down at what she was wearing. It was a simple white t-shirt with the American flag printed on the front. It matched her red, blue and white striped socks.
“He gave it to me when I was staying in his room a few nights ago,” she shrugged casually, not really thinking much about her next words. “I’ve been staying in his room a lot lately. It makes it easier to drift off.”
Tony pretended not to look surprised. He diverted his gaze back to the screen of his computer and began to type, though his mind was preoccupied with thoughts entirely different.
“I thought I’d be able to sleep alone one more night until he gets back from this mission, but apparently my body isn’t willing to co-operate,” she added quietly, took one last sip of Tony’s coffee and set the mug down on the desk.
Tony glanced at her from the corner of his eye, willing his expression to remain as neutral as possible.
“So, are you and Steve, like…”
Y/N quickly caught on to what he meant.
“No, of course not. We’re just friends,” she explained with a chuckle. “He doesn’t mind me waking him up in the middle of the night or helping me fall asleep, so I’ve been staying in his room. Steve is… nice.”
Tony cocked his head to the side and looked at her in slight bewilderment.
“I’m nice, too,” he noted, then turned back to his work. “And yet you’ve never asked to sleep in my bed.”
Y/N smiled, not catching his bitterness at first. She shrugged her shoulders and circled the rim of the mug with her index finger.
“I’ve never asked to sleep in your bed because you hardly get any sleep as it is,” she observed, her voice quieter than before. “I’d hate to take away what little rest you get with my silly problems.”
Tony sent her a look that screamed, “are you serious right now?” but before she could say anything, Tony was already talking.
“Your problems aren’t silly,” he reassured her, and Y/N shrugged her shoulders again.
“Steve doesn’t think so, either. It’s why he’s been letting me sleep with him,” she explained and Tony could feel anger bubbling inside of him. He didn’t like that Y/N went to Steve with her problems; he wanted it to be him she talked to.
“And since he’s gone, you’ve decided to come to me instead?” Being her second choice didn’t make Tony all that happy.
“I thought I’d find you here so we could hang out.”
Tony looked towards his computer again. He picked up his mug of coffee.
“Why don’t you call Steve, then?” He asked, then pressed the mug to his lips and muttered, “I’m sure it would do you more good that sitting here with me.”
Y/N’s brows knitted together into a frown, then a smirk took over her features.
“Wait a minute. Are you jealous?”
Tony pretended to look surprised at her assumption. He cocked his head back and expelled a forced chuckle.
“Jealous?” He asked. “Why on earth would I be jealous?”
It was obvious Y/N wasn’t buying his reaction. Tony could never hide his true feelings and even though he hated it about himself, Y/N had grown to love it.
He turned in his chair to face the monitor at the opposite end of the desk. Incidentally, it gave him an excuse to turn away from Y/N so she couldn’t see him.
“I’m not jealous. Just curious about what’s going on between you and Cap. That’s all,” he mumbled a little too slow and Y/N had to bite back her grin.
She reached out, placed her hand on the back of Tony’s chair and turned it around so that he was facing her again.
Tony appeared desperate to look elsewhere but she was right there in front of him, blocking his view.
“Are you sure?” She raised a brow, her smirk remaining. She narrowed her eyes a little and Tony gulped audibly.
It was then Y/N decided to push back her hesitation and slid off of the surface of his desk. Tony watched as she stepped closer.
“Like, are you completely positive you’re not jealous? Because, I mean, I’ve seen the way you look at me when you think I don’t notice and your eyes tell me something different.”
Tony was just about to speak, to protest, to tell her he had no idea what she was talking about, but he stopped himself when she threw her leg over his thighs and lowered herself onto his lap.
“What are you doing?” He asked, gazing up at her from beneath his lashes. The weight of her in his lap felt too satisfying for him not to feel weird about it.
“What? I’m not doing anything,” she responded innocently, but a playful grin had appeared across her lips. Tony could already see the mischief in her eyes.
“Then why have you suddenly decided to sit in my lap? I don’t think you’ve done this before.”
Y/N chuckled and Tony almost whimpered when she took hold of his wrists and led his hands to her hips. Her own soon retreated and Tony wanted to punch himself for how much he was enjoying this. There was something terrifyingly pleasurable about it.
“All I want is for you to say it,” she told him, and Tony’s brows furrowed. With the feeling of her sitting in his lap, her weight resting right where he wanted it, Tony had almost forgotten what they were talking about.
“You’re jealous because I’ve been sleeping in Steve’s bed,” she stated matter-of-factly, her fingers toying with the buttons of his shirt. She wasn’t looking into his eyes but she glanced up then, a coy smirk across her lips. “Just admit I’m right.”
Tony sighed. “I’m not going to confess to anything in the absence of my lawyer.”
Y/N pouted and the sight was so adorable Tony wanted to drop onto the floor and repeat anything she’d ask him to say.
“But it’s more fun when it’s just the two of us. Don’t you think?” Tony could almost see the wheels turning in her head. He had no clue what she was thinking or where she was going with this. The only thing he was absolutely certain of was the fact that it wouldn’t be long before she noticed the growing tent in his jeans.
“What do you mean?”
And there it was; the realisation on her face.
Tony was just about to shift in his seat in what would surely be a failed attempt to cover up his arousal but Y/N had already noticed.
She had noticed and the smirk across her face let Tony know something weird was about to happen. And it did; because soon Y/N reached behind her, placing her hands on his thighs and then lifted herself up slightly, only to sink back onto him and begin to roll her hips against him.
Tony let out a shaky breath, his fingers beginning to dig into her hips. Her smirk remained and even when Tony closed his eyes, he could see it. It was right there, printed onto the back of his eyelids, haunting him. A pathetic groan escaped his lips.
He could feel her hands sliding up his chest and to his shoulders, using them for leverage. She expelled a breath that sounded a little too much like a whine and Tony could feel his erection straining against his boxers. Truth be told, he would’ve been able to get off on that sound alone, but it wasn’t just the sound that was making his head spin; it was the feeling of her rolling her hips against him, her hands on his shoulders, her heavy breaths and the sweet smell of her perfume.
“Say it,” she demanded, leaning into him so her chest was pressed flush to his. Tony forced her down harder onto him.
“Say it, Tony. Say it or I’ll stop.”
He whined when she began to slow down. He needed more. But admitting he was jealous wasn’t something he was willing to do.
“Please,” he whimpered instead, and a knowing smirk appeared across her face. She had him wrapped around her finger and she damn well knew it. “Please don’t stop.”
She moved her hips again and Tony expelled a breath of relief. He screwed his eyes shut and threw his head back, letting another pathetic groan escape him. He was helpless and somehow, he was loving it.
“Oh, Tony,” she giggled, knowing what effect she was having on him and using it to her advantage. He could hear the superiority in her tone, knowing she had the upper hand. There was something strangely erotic about it. “If you don’t like my teasing, then why are you moaning?”
He groaned again, but this time, instead of continuing her actions, Y/N’s movements ceased completely and she grinned in satisfaction as she slid off his lap. Tony whimpered at the loss in contact and opened his eyes, watching as she turned towards his desk.
She bent over rather theatrically, her perky behind right there for him to admire, and grabbed his mug of coffee from his desk.
Tony attempted to catch his breath.
“I’ll be in my room,” she told him casually, almost as if nothing had ever happened. She took a few steps towards the door and suddenly stopped, glancing at him over her shoulder, one eyebrow cocked. “You are welcome to join me.”

The three of you were covered in mud from head to toe. This particular hunt had gone a bit south, due to the unexpected rainstorm that had decided to fuck with your mission. Dean protested the entire way home about the state his interior was currently in, constantly pestering both you and Sam to keep your boots off the floor. Although you’d accomplished what you’d sought out to do, all of you were bickering back at forth at one another like children the entire ride home.
A/N: This is coming from a very personal place. I was in a bad place when I wrote this about three weeks ago, and writing seems to be the only way I can get things out anymore, so this happened. I didn’t use a name for the male character in it, so choose as you will.
“Tell me what you need.”
It was a simple request, really, but the words wouldn’t come. You opened your mouth to speak and nothing came out, except the whining whistle of your throat closing around the lump sitting inside it as you held back tears.
“Please. Just tell me what you need.” He repeated.
“I don’t know, that’s the problem. I don’t know what I need. I need sleep, I need food, I need an entire fucking bottle of Tylenol. I need to not feel fucking insane for one second!” You shouted, hands reaching up, fingers tangling into your hair as you tugged on it.
He took a step back, eyes wide as he realized that maybe he was in over his head. Maybe he shouldn’t have been there. Maybe he should’ve listened to you when you told him to run, that this would be too much, that you were a fucking handful and you meant that.
Hi all! As you know we recently hit 400 followers! I just want to briefly mention again here- THANK YOU for all the support :) Anyway lets get on with the story! I spent ages rewriting this and the dialogue to make it as characteristic as possible, and because it contains themes which I can relate to and wanted it to be as real as possible. I hope you all enjoy a little Spock X Reader.

You opened your eyes slowly with a groan, your back arching as you re-positioned yourself gradually. Rolling across the cold tiled floor, you took in your surroundings slowly. At first glance you recognised your quarters, the dark shadows swirling around the corners of the room menacingly as the darkness of space swallowed your surroundings whole. Ignoring the strange sense of apprehension which settled in your stomach, you shifted to press your palms beneath your chest and against the floor.
With quivering arms you slowly levered yourself upwards, your elbows screaming in response as you finally reached an upright sitting position, your head pulsating at the menial action.
“Lights at twenty percent.” You commanded softly as you pushed your back up against the foot of your bed. With a shuddered breath you closed your eyes lightly, your mind struggling to focus as it remained a jumbled mess of images and sounds. A frown creeped across your features as you struggled to recall anything prior to waking, but no matter how hard you scratched away at the surface, nothing moved to the forefront of your mind.
Cracking open an eye you sighed as you glanced upwards to the lighting above you; the distinct lack of overpowering white light causing a nervous chill to settle over you.
“Lights at twenty percent.” You repeated again, your tone more forceful than before. However once again, the system remained unchanged.
Flexing your fingers, you shifted suddenly using the momentum to rock up and onto the balls of your feet. Taking a moment to steady yourself, your eyes narrowed in on the access panel beside the door to your quarters.
You had barely moved a step when a soft rustling erupted from behind you, the layers of nervousness and apprehension which had rested in your stomach erupting to life once again; sending your mind into overdrive.
Eyes wide, you struggled to ignore the hairs which stood abrupt on the back of your neck. Pivoting slowly to face the strange sound, your eyes widened dramatically in response to what laid sprawled before you.
Castiel pulled the hood of his jacket up as he walked down the damp sidewalk, still wet from the rain, and crouched down next to the back door.
This was such a bad idea.
He shook his head and pursed his lips. No use in turning back after two weeks of deliberating.
After quickly glancing in both directions to make sure no one was heading in his direction (not that he was expecting anyone to at three in the morning), he shook the door handle.
Castiel murmured a few words under his breath and blew a quick puff of air into the keyhole, smiling when he heard a satisfying click. The gears shifted into place.
The door only creaked a little when he opened it and slipped through.
The more steps that he took inside the museum, the more sure he was that this was a bad idea. When had he decided to live a life of crime?
He paused, taking a deep breath to calm himself. This wasn’t a life of crime. This was one crime that wasn’t even going to hurt anyone, and then he was going to call it a day - forever.
As he quietly made his way through the dim hallways, he mentally ran through the list of ingredients that were needed for the spell. Most of them were easy enough to find, some would take a little bit of creativity, and one - the most important ingredient - had to be a bone shaving. Sure, he could have settled for some kind of fish bone he picked out of his dinner or something, but when it came to spells that helped you see into the future, the older the bone, the clearer the vision. The clearer the vision, the more his client was willing to pay.
And, well -
Castiel stopped as he turned the corner and looked up at the massive skeletal remains of a triceratops.
Hey y’all! Happy Wednesday! Hope you enjoy this little fun one.
Bucky x Reader
Summary: Reader uses her power of invisibility to teach Bucky a lesson for shamelessly flirting with her.
Warnings: Language, Touching…?
I swear to god Bucky Barnes knew that I had a crush on him. A big old, stupid, little kid crush that made me pretty much speechless around him. I avoided him like the plague because every time I ran into him and tried to talk to him, I would trip over something, stutter like crazy or say something that was just plain stupid. I really didn’t know what was wrong with me.
Natasha used to tell me that he liked me too, but I always doubted it. She’d pull the whole we were trained by the Russians together bullshit to try to convince me she knew everything he was thinking. But I just didn’t believe it.
He was a goddamn super soldier, and a pretty one at that, and I was the runt of the Avenger’s litter. There wasn’t much I could do besides make myself invisible. I was the new kid and I was still learning how to fight and I didn’t go on many missions yet and well… I was a potato compared to Bucky Barnes.
But I accepted this. And I accepted his teasing.
Until one day when the whole team was watching a movie and he teased me a little too much for me to not fight back. This is the story of how I wrapped Bucky Barnes around my little finger.
The whole team was in their designated corners of the living room, lounging on their choice of furniture. The only person missing was Bucky, but that wasn’t surprising. He was never on time to anything.
Wanda and I were tucked into a small sofa with Natasha in the middle of us. I was perfectly burritoed in my favorite blanket when the opening credits started.
“Hey, (Y/N), mind if I sit next to ya?”
His voice sent shivers down my spine that I tried my hardest to ignore.
“Go find another seat, Buck, there’s no room here,” Natasha snarled at him.
“Nah, there’s plenty of room,” he said. Before any of us could respond, he was lifting me up and placing me gently in his lap where he held me tightly around my waist and rested his chin on my shoulder. I had no doubt he was giving Natasha a victorious smirk. “See?”
“No! Buck, get off!” Wanda whisper shouted as Natasha kicked his legs.
“Alright, alright,” he said in surrender. He stood up and placed me back on the seat of the couch with a wink. When he straightened himself and looked around the room he asked, “Where the hell am I supposed to sit, then?”
“You were late, so you sit on the floor,” Steve delivered, making me laugh. I lived for Steve’s rare sassy moments.
Bucky sighed and laid on the floor, stretching himself out and leaning on his elbows. When he was situated, Tony asked him from across the room, “How’s the floor treatin’ ya, Barnes?”
“Just fine,” he answered. Then he looked up at me with his stupid blue eyes and said, “I could use some company though. Wanna join me?”
I rolled my eyes but smiled. “No, see, I have a seat because I wasn’t late.”
He chuckled at that. “That’s alright,” he said before directing his gaze to my bare, crossed legs in front of him. “I like the view from down here anyway,” he said, brushing his rough knuckle against my ankle.
I had to stop my jaw from hitting the ground and I immediately regretted wearing my pajama shorts. Before I could shoot a reply his way, Sam yelled, “Just everyone shut up and watch the damn movie.”
I felt heat rising to my cheeks as I tucked my legs under me and covered them with the blanket. I heard him chuckle from below and I threw a small couch pillow at his head.
“She fights back!” He said with a fake gasp. “What a sight!” Then he leaned closer to me and said with a low growl, “That turns me on even more than your legs do.”
“Buck. Watch the movie,” Steve warned for what sounded like the last time.
“Yessir,” Bucky said with a salute. He turned to me and winked one more time before settling on his elbows and concentrating on the movie.
Once my pulse slowed and the blood ran out of my cheeks, I turned to Natasha and whispered, “Be right back.” She gave me a raised eyebrow, like she knew my exact plan. Damn those Russians for teaching her to practically read minds.
I quietly climbed over the back of the sofa so I wouldn’t catch Bucky’s attention, and left the room. Once I was outside everyone’s view I stuck my hands out in front of me. With a gulp and a blink, I watched them disappear and snuck back into the living room.
Once I stood above Bucky, I crouched down behind him. I was surprised my thundering heartbeat didn’t give me away. Time to get some revenge, I thought.
I slowly lowered my hands onto his shoulders, making him jump and turn to look over his shoulder. When he didn’t see anyone there, I could almost see the cogs turning in his head as he tried to figure out what the hell was going on. I took this as a chance to continue.
I ran my invisible hands forward and down his chest, ignoring how thick and firm he felt under my fingertips- this was about getting him hot and bothered. I felt his breath quake before he spoke. “Natasha, where’s (Y/N)?”
“In the bathroom,” she said. By her voice, I could tell she knew exactly what I was doing and she was happy to have a front row seat.
I leaned into his neck and felt every muscle in his body tighten. I remembered all the times his flirting had left me flustered and embarrassed and was encouraged to crank it up a notch. I latched onto his ear with my teeth and as my hands neared his belt, he said, “Huh. Are you sure?”
The sound of his raspy voice told me I won this battle. As soon as my hands were there, they were gone and the next time Bucky saw visible me was when I was walking back into the room and jumping on the couch.
“Buck, you don’t look so good,” I said, giving him a look of fake concern.
“She’s right, man, maybe you should jump in the shower or something,” Steve said.
“A cold shower,” Natasha mumbled, making Wanda and I giggle.
Bucky cleared in throat and turned his blue eyes to me. “I think I’m just gonna grab some water. (Y/N), care to join me?”
“Sure,” I said, winking at Natasha and Wanda and following him to the kitchen. I grabbed two glasses and handed one to him to fill.
“I didn’t know you played dirty, (Y/N),” he said with a smile, handing me a cup full of water.
“I don’t usually.”
“Well, you seem like a pro to me,” he winked.
“I just wanted to see you get flustered for a change,” I said before taking a sip.
“Are you kidding?” he asked. Jesus why was he so cute?
“No, I’m not kidding! I’m the one who looks stupid all the time, now it’s your turn!” I confessed, playfully slapping his arm while he laughed at me.
“I’m the one who’s stupid. The guys always tease me for how I get around you. I cringe at what comes out of my mouth sometimes.”
His laugh mixed with mine and echoed off the kitchen tiles. I heard Sam shush us from the other room and burst into a whole new fit of laughter.
“Alright, how about we stop being stupid around each other? Just go on a regular, non stupid date?” he asked.
“Okay,” I laughed.
We whispered the details to each other as we walked back into the living room to watch the rest of the movie. Once we both plopped down into our seats, I heard Bucky ask Clint what he missed while he was gone.

The clear, blue sky enticed the people living in this small town. They all desired to dip into the cool atmosphere just as long as they were away from under the ruthless fist of the unforgiving sun. It’s been like this for a week now. Children ran around, jumping through sprinklers while their laughs echoed across the neighborhood. Women walked around in their sun hats covering their delicate skin with porcelain cream to shield their beauty from the heat’s grasp. The men hid away safely inside, lazily relaxing on their leather recliners while they sat in the comfort of their cool living room caves.
To be indoors was all Negan could think about as he sat outside replacing old parts of his motorcycle. He didn’t know that the weather would open up the ninth circle of hell when he decided to fix up his Harley. “Sweetie” he looked up to find Lucille walking over to him, holding a silver tray in her hands, wearing her favorite pale blue sundress which emphasized her glowing face. “I brought you some lemonade” she said, planting a kiss on his cheek.
Namjoon would stir around in his sleep, not getting a good night sleep at all he would wake up to see y/n sitting up on her phone going through social media. “Baby? What’re you still doing up?” His raspy voice would cause her to jump and sigh. “I can’t sleep.” She would mumble, locking her phone and setting it down on the bedside table. Namjoon would reach over and turn on the lamp before rubbing his eyes and sitting up next to her and asking if she was alright. “Is something on your mind? Whatever it is I’m sure everything will be fine, c'mon let’s get some sleep.”
If y/n couldn’t sleep, Seokjin couldn’t sleep. But when y/n was in his embrace and heard his small snores she couldn’t help but feel so lonely. For some reason she felt so sad, things and questions going through her head like ‘What if one day she wakes up and he’ll be gone?’ or ‘Does Seokjin ever wish he was with someone else?’ and such thoughts brought tears to her eyes. She tried to contain her small cries but they ended up waking Seokjin up. “Hmm?” He would be confused at first before noticing that y/n was crying. He would pull her into him more and press small kisses to her neck. “Ah~Jagi, don’t worry. I’ll be right here when you wake up.”
Everyone knew how grumpy Yoongi was when he didn’t get his sleep. It would be close to 3 am when he suddenly awoke, something telling him to wake up and when he did he looked over to see y/n’s empty place in the bed. He would be confused before looking out to see her standing on the balcony with just her robe draped over her and the cool breeze blowing. She didn’t know why she couldn’t sleep, so Yoongi got up and walked over and outside. Wrapping his arms around her waist taking her by surprise and pressing small kisses to her now bare shoulder. “Why are you up at this hour? Is everything okay? I’m always here if you need someone to talk to babe.”
Hoseok was always coming home in the early hours and then leaving after a few hours sleep. So y/n knew how tired and how much rest he needed. But something to him didn’t feel right, he would stir a lot more and soon woke up to see y/n propped up against the head board with a book in her hands, her frames popped on her face and her lamp on as she read. He would wonder why she was still up and why she was reading. Y/n would explain she couldn’t sleep and he would sigh and make her put the book away and turn off her lamp before pulling her into him and cuddling. “I’m sorry I’m not home more often, but I promise I will be soon. Until then let’s just enjoy the time we do get together.”
Taehyung was a heavy sleeper so when y/n got up and went downstairs to get herself a glass of milk she didn’t mind the loud noises she made. But once she dropped the hot glass causing it to fall to the tiled floor and smash she could hear the thumping of Taehyung’s feet and see him standing at the bottom of the staircase with a baseball bat. He doesn’t even play baseball? “Y/n~ah? What are you doing up at this time? Are you okay? Don’t move. Let me clean this up quickly. Here baby, let me carry you to bed.”
This smoshi mochi would wake up at the slightest movement, y/n would be curled up into his embrace and comfortable but she just couldn’t sleep for some reason. She would try to slowly move out of his arms but as soon as she did she would feel his arms tighten and pull her into him more before the feeling of his warm plump lips on her neck kissing lightly. “I know you’re not asleep right now, but please try. I don’t want my princess to be tired tomorrow.”
Jungkook needed his sleep since he was always working late, but he would constantly wake up some nights feeling cold and alone and when he would look at the space where y/n would lay he would wonder why she wasn’t asleep. Instead he would find her in her study typing away on her computer, he would walk over and wrap his arms around her while kissing her temple and watching as she tapped away at the keys. “You got to get some rest y/n, I don’t want you to lose sleep. I hate it when you’re tired in the mornings. C'mon let me take you back to bed.”
