i just want to create something

anonymous asked:

You are everything I wish I could be.

oh god. I’d like to say that my followers have a peculiar ability to turn me into a crying mess. Dear god, this is such a powerful sentence.

Yet so much is left unspoken, isn’t it, Anon?

What do I say to that though? I’m happy to hear that whatever image of myself and my life I managed to create seems like something that one might want for themselves. To be fair, I cling to this image myself. If I just can believe in that version of myself, then maybe all that effort is worth something.

I hope and believe you can be everything you wish to be, Anon. I really do. And gods know that I require to be told that a lot.

Hi :) I decided to do something about your desire for a fanfic about Kyle forgetting Kenny after being in an accident. This is a work in progress with more to come. Just my way of saying ‘thanks’ for creating that discord server. Plus it’s a great prompt; I haven’t been this into writing something in quite awhile so thanks for that too. You’re an excellent artist by the way! Hope you enjoy this, and if you have any headcanons about it or anything you want to see, let me know and I’ll work them in there. When it’s finished, I could post it on AO3 with or without your comic (and credit you if you allow it) and tag it as a gift to you if you’d like.

JULY 24th:

The speeding car came out of nowhere, crashed through the hedge with a horrendous sound as its muffler hit the curb with a shower of sparks and continued at a high rate of speed across the well-manicured lawn.

Stan and Kenny barely threw themselves out of the way in time to avoid being hit. Kyle wasn’t so lucky; the car hit him head on and he flew through the air, landing in a crumpled heap in the front yard of Clyde’s house twenty feet away.

“Kyle!” Stan shrieked, jumping to his feet and taking a step to run toward his fallen friend. Kenny grabbed his arm and held him back.

“Stan…let me go, okay?” Kyle wasn’t moving at all (although the car had finally come to a stop, steam rising from under the hood; whoever had been driving it was slumped over the steering wheel). Kenny had seen death enough times that he was certain he was about to see it now, in one of his best friends. He knew Stan wouldn’t be able to handle this.

Stan’s face was ashen, and Kenny left him to hurry over to Kyle. He expected to find him lying dead, but what he saw might even be worse: Kyle was alive and his eyes were aware as they met Kenny’s, and there was blood, way too much blood, under his head and staining the grass.

“Someone call 9-1-1!” Stan screamed; Kenny looked around and saw at least two people already were. Clyde’s dad had opened his front door holding a phone to his ear, and Butters was already shouting into his phone. He looked back down at Kyle, who was trying to get up.

“No, Kyle,” Kenny said, holding him down with a hand on his shoulder. “Don’t try to get up. Help is coming.” He could already hear sirens approaching. “Just lie still.”

Stan joined him, kneeling on the grass on the other side of Kyle’s head. “You’re going to be okay, Kyle.” He was crying as he and Kenny’s eyes met, and Kenny almost wished Stan wouldn’t promise something he wasn’t sure of.

“He’s awake.”

Kenny stared at his phone, taking in what Stan had just said. After almost three weeks of afternoon visits to Kyle’s hospital room where all hope seemed lost, Stan had just said the words Kenny had been longing to hear since that awful day.

“What?” Kenny replied, wondering if he had somehow heard Stan wrong. Stan’s phone call had awakened him from an afternoon nap in the middle of unsettling nightmares.

He couldn’t blame Mr Tuong Lu Kim for what happened; he had had a heart attack while driving home from his restaurant and his foot had gotten stuck on the accelerator of his car when he died. Kenny was grateful for the job he had given him when he was ten and gentrification was first coming to their town. He couldn’t blame the nice old man for what happened seven years later. Shit happens, and life goes on anyway. Kenny had learned that a long time ago.

“He woke up today!” Stan said. “His mom said he asked where I was!”

Kenny winced, remembering when he wondered the same thing when he was dying of muscular dystrophy and Stan was nowhere around. He stood up and said the first thing that came to mind.
“I’ll be there in fifteen minutes.”

Kenny ended the call without waiting for Stan’s response. He pulled on the first pair of reasonably clean jeans, shirt and socks he found from the pile on the floor and ran out the door of his house, running all the way to Hell’s Pass Hospital in only nine minutes.

To all creators and well anyone.

I’m sorry. I’m sorry if you feel this way. I’m sorry if there is doubt.

If you’re not a fan of reading cause I ramble you may just wanna go down to the last two or three passages.

We do create in hopes others can enjoy what is made. Some even get caught up in creating what others want they forget or fear to make something they want for fear of others turning their backs on their blogs or content.

Yes a blog may eventually stop. Some believe because of age, or marriage and relationships. Or just stop cause they tire of it. If you stopped because you decide to have a life off of Tumblr then I can always hope we see your again in the future.

But you should not stop creating because of others. Yes getting a like ore reblog is nice. It shows creators their work has been seen. Maybe even seeing other blogs with higher numbers makes creators strive to create so they can get even a fraction of those numbers. But I feel that is not a good reason to create…

A piece could’ve been made for a selfish reason. You never want to look back on something you made and think.
“Oh I remember making this to get notes.”
You’ll begin to dislike that piece. Maybe even resent the time you poor into it. I never want that for a creator…

You can stick to a fanbase if that is what you enjoy. You can go original and just draw. Stories can end for the simplest reasons but that shouldn’t mean you stop creating. You should do what you want because you love it. Create because that piece helps you smile or vent or just help show your thoughts and feelings. You should never let “notes” get in the way of that.

Cause no matter what, you have even one follower? Then your creation is seen.

Now let’s go to the touchy subject of “notes”. Everyone knows this. Some may forget or not wish to accept it. But it’s there so gonna be blunt. We as creators or rebloggers are not entitled to notes.

I had to create something for my Black Women and Art class! I wanted to demonstrate the versatility of black women’s hair. Originally I wanted to take a picture with all of these styles on my head, but ran outta time for that! So I had to try and draw again!

Thanks for the remix links but you'd think these stories at least would be safe from character bashing. Not.

That’s one of the hard things these days as a writer, I find, especially if you are trying to write post-CACW.  One person’s character bashing is another person’s justifiable comeuppance.  It puts someone in a tough position, and I am sure for readers, it is hard as well b/c you just want to find stories with characters you love and recognize.  I’m not saying I don’t  understand the frustration when it isn’t what you were hoping for, but try to remember to be thankful that there are options out there, shared by people who have put their time and energy into creating something for others to enjoy.

But, PLEASE GO READ Inside/Outside, the absolutely wonderful remix of my prison AU, which is completely free of any bashing whatsoever and presents a fantastic take on both Steve and Tony.  I don’t know who wrote it, but it is just perfect.  I always wanted to do something more with that story, but couldn’t get any traction on an idea, and now I know why, because this story is perfect, and the idea was just waiting for the right someone to come along and figure it out.  Thank you so much for creating this fabulous work!

Hello my lovely followers, we have just reached 700 people on this blog, I mean why? My stories are pretty lame haha but I’m glad you guys are enjoying it, it means the absolute world!

I’m sorry for not posting as regularly as I used to lately but to be completely honest with you, I’m struggling a little bit to find any more inspiration but It’s fine, it happens so I’m not going to force myself to write some things that aren’t really right, you know what I mean? I just don’t want to dissapoint you guys and write something that I won’t be sure of. If you guys have some requests, feel free to send some in because tbh, I really need some right now.

I also just wanted to say thank you for taking your time to read my random stories. I never thought in a million years that this blog would reach so many people and I am glad that I did create this blog because it brings me so much joy. I love being able to reach out to you and to meet some new people thanks to the blog (and Joe/the squad). I love meeting people from different countries and different cultures, it just amazes me how the world is so big but so small at the same time, you know. So if any of you feel like talking just feel free to slide into my private messages, I will gladly answer to you.

Hello SkitsoFanActs! I just want to ask you have you ever thought about where are your fans from? Maybe you could create a quiz or something like that. It might help you in choosing the best time for streaming. As for me it's a big problem. I've missed a lot of your streams because of time difference. Also I noticed that there are lots of people like me and I'm a bit worried about it. Thanks for your attention!

Hey anon, sorry that it took us so long to reply to this message I’ve been a little negating of Tumblr. But we can understand how this is an issue but the times that we pick to livestream are the times that work for us. I know that might sound a little selfish but we don’t really have any other time to livestream and we wish that we could make a time that works for everyone but sadly that isn’t a option.

If you follow us on Instagram we livestream at all different times of the day/night on there. We could be livestreaming at 3AM or 1PM it’s all kinda when we have the time and have things we want to share. Again we apologize but sadly it’s the only times that work for us.

Just remember that even if you miss our livestream on YouTube it’s always uploaded to the channel afterwards and the livestreams on Instagram are normally quick dumb things of us being dorks. Thanks!

I’m just trying to find someone that I can spend hours talking to and it feels like seconds. Someone that gets me and wants to work with me to create a life. Something that despite the effort, feels so easy.

And also to makeout with, but besides the point

Okay, so I didn’t want to post this yet, but I really really REALLY wanna show you guys what I’ve been working on for months. AND since it’s Aaliyah’s birthday… might as well post it lol. So SURPRISE!!! I’ve been working on an animation of Aaliyah! This was supposed to be for the 20th anniversary of her album ‘One In A Million’ in August, but let me tell you something… animating is hard, and it takes a lot of hard work. Even with my hand cramping right now, it’s all worth it. And that’s what Aaliyah taught me. My passion is art, and even though the work is painful, or it makes me bone-tired, it’s all worth it because just seeing something that I created come to life, it’s the best feeling in the world honestly. So, yeah it’s not fully finished yet, but I am planning to finish it by the end of this month or next month. Just wanted to show you guys what I was working on, and that none of this would be possible if it wasn’t for Babygirl and her music. I’ve been listening to her music for over 20 years, since I was little (and her music video, ‘One In A Million’ was the first video I’ve seen of hers on MTV lol), and she was the only artist I really admired, and her music helped me find what I truly love doing, and I thought an animation would be a perfect tribute for me to pay my respects and thank her for inspiring me and millions of other fans out there.

Happy Birthday, Miss Aaliyah!! Love you and miss you always!!!! 😘💕

It’s not even been a full day and we are not 10,000 strong...we are 16,000 strong!

Amigos, I have a prompt for you. I need you to draw something. We need an icon, avatar, logo whatever you would like to call it. Something to represent us.

But prompt guy, it’s all fun and games but I can’t draw for shit!’ Listen amigo, you can. It doesn’t have to be great. You can draw something on a piece of paper and take a picture of it. Can’t use colors that well? Just write a description in the caption. Because I know, that at least one of us, can take your sketch and make it better. We are going to create our logo together and I found the perfect tag for it: dps17

No one has ever used this tag; it is going to be our domain.

Requirements? You are free to do whatever you want as long as it is ‘original’ content, meaning you made it yourself (Tag it with dps17. To avoid indexing problems, don’t use any other tags)

Draw & share. Yes, you too. Don’t waste your creativity. The time is now.

When I saw you, I knew I was going to love you.
Parts of me were afraid,
But never resistant.
The rest of me breathed you in
And sighed with relief.
The rest of me thought,

When I kissed you, I thought,
“Maybe God IS real.”
Because your skin made me want to sing hymns.
Because your caress was a blessing, a baptism.
Because there was no way
You were created just as simply as I had been.
Created as a universe’s afterthought.
You were planned.
Something out there saw the terrifying beauty of our cosmos
And put them in your eyes.
And it said,
“This… This is my masterpiece.”
An I couldn’t agree more.

@cpn-america also asked me something similar, so I figured I’d kill two birds with one stone and make a tutorial!

how to make something like this:

or this:

you will need:

  • photoshop cs6 (or cs5)
  • a basic knowledge of said program
  • the top gif from this post (this is where you get the sparkly effect, so just drag it onto your desktop)

i love your art so much!!!! the lighting, the hair and expressions, but most of all the poses!! i hope you dont mind me asking, but how do you go about planning the pose for a drawing (especially if its like an action or battle pose) like what kind of references do you use? its really hard to come up with something and i dont know where to look for inspiration. thanks!!

when im stuck on pose ideas, i usually just google some example poses L O L!!! i also look over some of my fav artists’ work. although i believe once you can grasp the way limbs etc. work, youll be able to create any pose you want. although i believe the crucial thing is to make sure whatever pose youre choosing is correct.

mia jumping in the air with a one vanishing point perspective

for more dynamic poses, try experimenting with camera angles.

mia with attempted 3 vanishing point perspective L MAO

energy lies in small details and gestures

although there isnt really anything wrong with this pose, you can add more energy by changing and adding a few things.

i hunched lyns back and shoulders more for tension and moved the sword to a more active, dynamic pose. the direction and flow of her hair further adds to the energy. dont be afraid to get our of your comfort zone to try more dynamic poses

hopefully that helps…. GOOD LUCK MY DUDE!!!

Drew a quick sketch just so I can feel that I’ve finished something today. But more than that, I just wanted to fangirl about seeing Iwaizumi in casual clothes. I just like Iwazumi so much and seeing him in my favorite kind of hoodie (the big poofy type one that I don’t know what you call) with a jacket over it is just… sweet sweet icing on cake. And that expression. *sigh*…

After drawing a lot in Inktober, I’ve gained a lot more confidence in drawing faces, which in turn created an easier outlet for me to spaz about my current fandom(s). So just some heads up, since I might be posting more fan art to let out my inner screaming “fangirlism”.

Phan elf au created by the amazing @incaseyouart is just irresistible ubuubu (´∇ノ`*)ノ next time id go for something that can actually be called a painting h a  h    a

Looking now i have just realised phils coat makes zero sense im so sorry ;;;;;

My name is Tyler, and I wanted to start a band, so I picked a name, a logo, and wrote and recorded songs in my basement. I really had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that music did something to me. What I DID know was that I needed help bringing the songs to life on stage. Then I met Josh, a kid with no plan B. He lived and breathed plan A: music. And I liked that he beat the crap out of his instrument.

Then we played shows, all kinds of shows. It never really was discussed, we just knew we had no choice but to play with as much conviction for 5 people as we would for 5,000. We wanted our shows to be more about others than about ourselves, creating an unpredictable but always beautiful dance with the people in the crowd. Honesty and authenticity works, and, as it turns out, people wanna be a part of that.

9,765. Turns out it doesn’t take a million likes to get the music industry’s attention.

On November 19th, 2011, we played in front of a sold out hometown for 1700 of our most dedicated fans in Columbus, Ohio. A few years of hard work materialized into one night, our fans were the first local fan base to ever sell the place out to that
capacity. I don’t know exactly how it happened, but after that night people from 'the industry’ started asking the question, ‘What’s going on in Ohio?’

The next 3 months were the craziest months of our lives. Out of nowhere, we had a dozen labels interested in our small local band, taking us completely off guard. We had questions: Would we lose creative control? Would we be turned into something
we are not? Can we keep doing what we are doing, the way we were doing it? Are we selling out? Encouraged by the answers to those questions, we signed a record deal called Fueled By Ramen. A record deal!

Tonight, 5 months later, we are back in Columbus to explain the incredible news to the people who deserve to hear it first. But it’s just the beginning. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for us
and our fans. And to them we say: We never got a big break. You created our big break. Thank you.

So if you are pursuing your dreams, pursuing what it is you are passionate about, I hope this story encourages you. And if you know someone who is, encourage them with this: Don’t give up. Push through the droughts. Channel the inevitable disappointments back into your craft. Break molds. Think. Create. But most importantly: Stay alive. And in the meantime, make it about others. That seems to work. Stay strong, live on, and power to the local dreamer.

—  Tyler Joseph, after being signed by Fueled by Ramen with Josh Dun.

As a writer in the fanfiction community, there is something that has been bothering me for a while now and I think it’s time I finally address it. Often, I hold back my opinions and thoughts on the internet because I want to be that blog that people can come to when they’re having a hard day just to smile. But lately, I’ve been so tired.
Writing has been something that I’ve been doing since I was little. It’s been something that I can do to wind down, something that takes my mind off of the pressures of life and to just create a world where everything can be good and pure. Often I even like to base my own stories around my experiences, just to get my midnight thoughts out. I love sharing them with you guys. The feedback is something that gets me through the day and something that makes me feel like I can get through anything.
But. Lately, there has been something on my mind as some of you may have seen the past few days when I uploaded my most recent fic. It’s not something that would typically bother me at all, but this time, it’s been overwhelming with the amount of feedback I’ve gotten, and while it’s all been good feedback, it’s not been necessarily positive. Instead of streams of messages saying how much people liked my fic, I’ve gotten an overwhelming amount of people demanding me for a sequel. Sometimes people have completely skipped over the whole ‘wow i liked this thing you did a great write’ and went straight to ‘if you dont make a sequel i will seriously delete my account’. While I appreciate the intent of the message, it doesn’t make me feel very good. It makes me feel even worse when I’ve had to put a message in the author’s note of the fic not to pressure me for a sequel, as well as make many posts about the same topic, and people completely disregard it. And not because they haven’t seen my messages either.
My fics for the phandom are gifts for everyone. I don’t get paid to write, no matter how much I wish I did. I have a life outside of the phandom. I attend full time at a university where I put all of my time and effort into writing research papers that are up to 20 pages long, while working full time as a waitress at a restaurant just to pay off my ridiculously expensive tuition. Things are stressful. Life is stressful. And writing is usually a way that I can escape all of that.
This is why I’m so upset about it, I guess. Because when I write, I try to escape all of the pressures of life. And while I understand completely that posting on the internet will come along with bad things, I also don’t really think that justifies pressuring authors for more content when they are just trying to write things that they enjoy.
My dearest friend @insanityplaysfics has written a post like this, which you can find here. Ever since she posted that, she’s been getting hate telling her she’s a bad writer and nobody would care if she deleted. This is unacceptable and makes me ashamed to be a part of this community that can be so full of hate towards people who are trying to escape life by doing something they love.
Appreciate writers. Appreciate artists. Appreciate everybody who gives the community content without ever asking for anything in return. Without them, there would be no fandoms.
I guess in the end what I’m trying to say is just to please spread positivity to everybody who gives you the fanfic that you read. Pressuring fic writers or artists to write something that they don’t necessarily want to write is not the way to go and is actually extremely toxic. It makes wonderful people delete their blogs and makes their safe place not so safe anymore. We have lives and jobs and school and writing/making art is so very hard.
I’m half asleep because it’s two in the morning but I hope this didn’t come out in the wrong way. I love you all. I’m just very tired.
