i just wanna know what the tattoos and stuff were about dammit

soulmate! park woojin
  • in a world where everyone has a different way of connecting with their soulmates, yours is a tattoo of the first words you hear your soulmate say
  • it’s been there since idk when and like a lot of your friends also share the same method as you and they complain how theirs is WAY too generic like smh ur pal megan’s dated like 6 ppl bc they all said “hi” to her
  • and then there’s you who would rly rATHER have the word “hi” than “sexy baby oh my lady”
  • and don’t even mention your parents LMFAO when they saw those words on your collarbone they were sO distressed ur mom was like omg honey she’s gonna marry a STRIP P P E R
  • ahem and now one day you were with ur friend megan who insiSTED on making you watch produce 101 with her
  • @ readers: ;)))))))))))
  • she’s like omg u need to watch it they’re all so cute LMAO MAYBE ONE OF THEM IS UR SOULMATE which you were like yeah sURE
  • and you’re watching and watching and going “damn he cute” every once in a while and yall get to the group evaluation and ur watching and watching and suddenly
  • “sexy baby, OH MY LADY”
  • you: wHAT
  • megan: SCREECHING
  • after yelling and being in shock megan was like you NEED to meet him
  • megan: i’ll break laws and sneak you into their dorm if I have to
  • you had no idea how to approach this bc??? HE’S AN IDOL????????? so u just kinda left it alone…….
  • and one day you’re boarding the train back home and you’re standing in that area in front of the door and you’re scrolling through your phone and then the train suddenly screeches to a stop and the dude next to you sorta bumped into you
  • he mumbled a quiet sorry and pulled his cap down a lil
  • and ur like wait. why are you familiar….. and you suddenly lifted his cap up to get a view of his face
  • woojin’s face was stunned bc??? ARE YOU A SAESANG FAN?? and you took a deep breath and just went “dammit, it’s really you”
  • and his eyes gets even wider and he stares at you for a moment and he opens his mouth to say something when he realized his stop was here
  • he hurried out and as he’s walking away he turned back to catch another glimpse of your face and time just…seemed to had stopped at that moment when you and him looked right into each other’s eyes
  • when the door closed woojin touched the area on his neck with his tattoo and could only think “dammit, I couldn’t even ask for their name….”
  • his heart’s beating fast and he really, really needed to just…..see you again
  • when you got home you did like a whole bunch of research on park woojin and his entire profile and maybe it was a psychological effect from knowing he’s your soulmate but….well, he’s attractive
  • meanwhile woojin was freaking out at the dorm and ended spilling to jihoon what had happened and jihoon put a hand on his shoulder and was like bro…..that’s great…..but it’s 5am and you’ve been talking about that person and describing the train incident for the past three hours………………….
  • the next time you met woojin was at a supermarket
  • the group was filming something with all the cameras and stuff everywhere and woojin was playing along with all the stupid jokes when suddenly he saw…you
  • he mumbled a fast sorry and broke away from the group and hurried over to you
  • you have your eyes wide and your lips a bit parted when you saw him run over to you and he’s breathless as he racked his brain for the best words to say
  • “am I—am I your soulmate?” he asked.
  • without speaking you just….pulled down the top of your shirt a bit to let his see your tattoo
  • and his face burned when he realized that it was really him and that omg you must’ve had such a rough life with those words on your body so he just blurted I’M SO SORRY
  • and you had to laugh bc…he’s so awkward and cute and you pulled a small piece of paper and a pen from your bag and scribbled your number on it and put it in his hand
  • “just contact and talk to me soon,” you said. “and then we can see about the apology.”
  • and that moment is just when woojin had this weird voice in his head that was like damn u lucky af boi
  • when he ran back to reunite he got scolded SO much and he apologized a whole bunch and the manager gave him the evil eye the whole day >:((
  • he stood with jihoon to continue with the next segment and jihoon elbowed him a bit and whispered “was that worth it?” and the boi put a hand on the pocket with the paper in it and got this stupid smile dancing on his lips and just said “…yeah”
  • p.s. imagine woojin kissing the tattoo on your collarbone that you had hated so much before

Phayte’s Reads for the Week

June 10th Updates

So apparently people were LOVING making me cry this week! Dang it! Some really good stuff this week! Angst, Tears and HAPPINESS all week long!!!!!!

PLEASE READ TAGS TO THESE STORIES BEFORE PROCEEDING! The authors are AMAZING at tagging their works - Mixed rating through all of these as I read ALL diff ratings through out the week!

If I Can’t Find You There, I Don’t Care -  @the-stoned-ranger - I am so in love with this story and when came to me about when she went to start it, I wasn’t sure, though I know to NEVER doubt what my saltwife writes, it is too perfect, too good. She is fucking amazing! UPDATED THIS WEEK - Four years after Barcelona, Yuri Plisetsky still hasn’t gotten over his awkward teenage crush on Yuuri Katsuki, his married rival-cum-coach. Though he has always longed for something more, Yuri has too much to lose if he acts on his feelings. But all that changes one night in Salt Lake City, when Yuuri accompanies his two young protégés to Skate America without his husband. Salsa dancing and a stolen bottle of scotch lead to the kind of bad decision that changes everything. How will Viktor, Yuuri, and Yuri begin to put themselves back together after it all falls apart?

Bizarre Love Triangle - @blownwish-blog - OtaPliRoy - SO FUCKING GOOD!!!!  Just finished this this morning! Yuri Plisetsky met them both on his knees in the boys’ room. One would stay, the other could not. America was one fucked up country.(The 80s high school au you didn’t ask for.)

Suit Up! - @francowitch - My love can write her ass off and impress me at every moment! - More OtaPliRoy -  When Otabek and JJ are tired of Yuri just playing video games, they Suit Up and have a little fun with their kitten…

Mischievous Friends - @definitelynotadulting - OMG THIS SHOOK ME! - The skaters play Never Have I Ever at Leo’s birthday party and learn what a bad boy quiet Otabek is. Or in which Bad Boy DJ Otabek is Yuri Plisetsky’s aesthetic.

Yakov Feltsman Defends All of his Ridiculous Children -  preciousbunnynoiz - (Sorry I dont have their Tumblr name)  Yakov holds a press conference and the press is stupidly rude about his skaters. He will not let it stand

Not a random one - @aftgonice - THIS WAS SO GOOD!  He found that those fluffy and sweet fan fictions were starting not to be enough anymore. His feelings for Otabek weren’t of the innocent type, and while he was already used to fantasize about them, he’d gotten so used to actually reading that one day he just slipped. He found a pretty vanilla one, and promised himself that it would be enough. It was a one time thing, it had to be.
It wasn’t.

Unsteady - @victuri-oh-nice - COMPLETE - I am so going to miss this story and reading it every week!  You did so good honey! Loved it!Otabek was going to kill JJ. He was going to take the next flight to Canada, hunt him down and kick his ass.
Leo: I tried to stop him but he went and did it anyway, I’m sorry! (link)

Dead Air - @ded-i-am-just-ded - WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME!?!?! This fucking thing got in my head and fucked with me in ways I with it HAD NOT! -  You looked me in the eye and lied.

To Have the Tiger by the Tail - @caeseria - TENTACLES! TENTACLES! OMG TENTACLES! (dont kink shame me dammit, lol)  It’s not often that Yuri is caught by surprise, but when he discovers Katsudon doing something he shouldn’t, Yuri’s curiosity gets the better of him.

to be young and in love  - @yours-julie - DAMMIT I LOVE THIS STORY! This made me snot ugly cry and OMG I love this story!  Yuri is stuck in a small town where time stands still, spending his days working in a crappy Diner and dancing his nights away at dodgy clubs, dreaming of the day he can get out & wishing for something interesting to happen.

Just a Little Prick - @accidental-mormon Yuri Plisetsky is a tattoo artist at the locally-famous eros + agape body arts. When Otabek Altin accompanies a coworker for his first tattoo, he finds that it’s not the artwork that draws his eye. [tattoo artist!yuri] [dj!otabek]

A Thorn in the Tiger’s Paw - @theinsanefox - OMG SOOOOOO GOOD! When Yuri falls during practice one day and hurts his knee, he is devastated to find out that he’ll need to take the rest of the season off while he heals.  He quickly finds himself falling into a deep depression so Otabek offers to come stay with him for a few weeks.  Yuri is grateful but still feels like something is off, probably because he misses the ice so badly.

Overload - @lowercasewrites“Yura, are you okay?”Am I crying? Shit I must be. Why the fuck am I crying? He pulls back from my neck to look me in the eyes and make sure everything is alright. He cards his fingers through my hair as I pull myself together. I say the only thing I can think to say.“I love you so much, Beka.”

Smooth Criminal - @victuri-oh-niceWhen Officers Plisetsky and Nikiforov are called to a bar fight, Yuri is not even surprised to find the instigator of the entire thing being none other than Otabek Altin, a known gang member with an outstanding track record. Waiting until the station clears out feels like a waste of time until he can take Otabek for a one-on-one ‘conversation’, if you ask Yuri.

Sorry, Honey - @cherryfeather101 - I was blessed with an amazing gifted work! I am so honored and flattered and loved this! <3 Otabek and Yuri are married, until they’re not.

Still Halrloprillalar (prillalar) -  At competitions, Christophe has an arrangement where he doesn’t know who will show up in his room at night. After the GPF Free Skate, he waits to find out who it will be this time.

a place on Earth, with you - @melonbugg - I swear everyone wants me to cry… they wanna rip my heart and stomp it this week!Yuuri didn’t want to die, he didn’t want to die. And he didn’t want to die alone. The world was ending, and they were just two souls, desperate for someone to share their final days with.A Seeking a Friend for the End of the World AU

Born to Lose - @boxwineconfession - Anything HBB I will gagg over and ask for more! The Heart Break Beat Prequel fic nobody asked for.

Who’s the Biggest Dick? - @rodiniaorzetalthepenquin -  This is TOO CUTE for words! She always amazes me with her stuff!  Leo finds an article that causes many giggles, some speculation, a fight, and Yuri to start questioning his life choices.

Shake Things Up - @aftgoniceOtabek and Yuri are out to dinner with some of their fellow skaters. Yuri is bored. Otabek “helps”.

High Noon - (shit, there are so many of you… I hope I get this right) @lovelytitania - @cleardye - @evermoredeath - @father-nikiforov - @linnorm  - @proserpineceres - @sebuckwheat - Yall are fucking crazy and I love you all! Mysterious thing, an unstable plot. Powerful, and when meddled with, dangerous.

Again! If you write something! I wanna read it! I had some great ones rec’d to me this week! I hope you enjoy these amazing pieces! <3 <3 <3

It had been three weeks since you and Alexander had met. You texted him as soon as you got to where you were going to stay for a while, and you two had been texting back and forth, sometimes calling at random times for hours upon hours, ever since. You hadn’t seen him in person, though, because you couldn’t bring yourself to go back anywhere near Thomas’s apartment. You’d wanted to see Alex, but the thought of being right next to the room where you and Thomas had done almost everything imaginable was too much for you.

The Joker x Dead Reader

You were gone in an instant and he never thought he would be so lost without you. Too bad the dead can never come back…

Read part 2 herehttp://diyunho.tumblr.com/post/153114111426/the-joker-x-dead-reader-part-2

Another sleepless night. He tosses and turns, adjusting his pillow, but his mind won’t shut down. He just can’t sleep without you. The Joker looks at your side of the bed. You’re not there…and you will never be again.

He sighs and takes a deep breath, hiding his face under the sheets, trying not to think of your smile. It’s useless. He grunts and uncovers himself, his eyes resting on your favorite loveseat by the window.

He can almost see you there, in the pale morning light, polishing your handgun, wearing that cute lacy nightgown he liked so much. It was your favorite firearm; he gave it to you on your birthday, customized with your name and his, and plated it with gold over the shiny red background color.

“Baby doll, I regret given that to you. Stop messing with it. Come back to bed, I wanna sleep in.”

“Why, can’t you sleep if I’m not there?”

“You know I can’t.”

“Jeez, baby, what would you do if I’d die? You’d never sleep again?” you used to ask, teasing him.

“No, I would just get another girlfriend.”

He remembers how you always frowned at his answer.

“I would come back and haunt you! NO GIRLFRIEND, do you hear me?”

“If you come back to haunt me, could you be naked please?”

“You want me to be naked?”

“Yes!” he would burst out laughing, his blue eyes glowing with content.

“OK, I’ll come back naked then,” you giggled, charging for the bed and landing on top of him with all your strength.

“Auch, Pumpkin, lose some weight.”

“You’re so mean J,” you complained, playfully punching his cheek.

“I know I am,” the Joker admitted, fully aware you put up with all his crap and you would fall asleep cuddling for a few more hours.

He gets up at the side of the bed, sniffling, then heads towards the bathroom, turns on the water and gets in the bathtub. He hopes it’s going to comfort him a little bit.

“Taaaaa-daaaaaaa!” your cell phone in his face when he was so busy with the paperwork, planning future heists.

He already knew what it was: you took care of another person (or multiple ones) on his black list. But he still looked at the pictures.

“See Puddin? Killed them all for you.”

“You’re such a good doll.” He wasn’t really paying attention anymore.

“I know,” you chuckled and leaned over for a kiss. All you got was a peck on the lips.

“This is no way to kiss your girl, Mister J.  I’ll tell you what: I’m going to take a bath and you’re going to join me in 5 minutes, ok?”

“I’m busy, Princess.”

“I’ll be extraaaaaa nice,” you whispered in his ear and walked away. Every single time he debated maybe about 10 seconds.

“God dammit!…I’ll be there in 5, doll!”

“ Kaaayyy, Puddin. “

He loved to lean against you in the bathtub so you can wash his hair and massage his shoulders.  You always hummed some silly song you would make up on the spot and he purred, half asleep.

“Look, J, it never fails: you give me goosebumps when you purr.”

“U-hummm, “ he muttered with his eyes closed.

“So crazy how you do that to me all the time,” you wondered, baffled at the mystery. He wanted to laugh but he pretended to be dosing off.

“Here, give me your forehead,” you often asked and he just tilted his head backwards even more so you can plant a trail of soft kisses along his “Damaged” tattoo. He secretly liked it, but never told you.

“J, say you love me,” you would ask, rinsing his hair.

“Hmmmm?” he pretended not to hear, still with his eyes closed.

“Say: I love Y/N.”

You tried another approach to get what you wanted.

“ I love you, Puddin.  More than anything.”

“More than diamonds?” he would snicker, adjusting his head on your breasts.

“I said more than anything, you jerk!” This used to get you all worked up, but he’d let you win in the end, especially after you squeezed your legs around him as hard as you could.

You moved his jaw, trying to make him talk.

“Say: I LOVE…Y/N! Say it or I’ll crush you with my thunder thighs! Say you love me!”

“I love….” your green eyes would widen, waiting for the answer “…guns.” he grinned.

“Seriously?!” you pouted, splashing water all over.” “That’s it, I’m going to kill you!”

The bathroom looked like a battlefield after you were done chasing him all over the huge bathtub: water on the floor and bubbles almost reaching the living room.

“Truce! Truce!” you panted out of breath, retreating to one corner of the tub.

“You started, Kitten! Are you sure?” he would smirk, licking his lips, slowly approaching you.

“Yes, I give up, you win.”

“Good decision, doll.” The Joker pulled you on his legs, moving the wet hair off your face so he can see your red cheeks. You locked your arms around his neck and stared in his eyes.

“Say you love me, Puddin.” You never gave up.

“If you don’t say it, I’m not goin…”

He liked to interrupt your little speech:

Before you could make another sound his lips were crushing against yours and it always ended up being a wild night.

He feels the water got cold. He doesn’t know how long he’s been sitting in there, just staring at the faucet. There’s no more laughter, no more kisses, no more you.

Just him, alone with his demons and his sorrow.

He finally brings himself to get out of the tub and gets dressed. He opens the walk in closet and chooses something, he doesn’t even care what; then he sees your clothes. He tried to get rid of your things, but the pain of not having your stuff around was greater than giving them away, so he saved it all.

The Joker looks through your items, stopping from time to time to smell them. They still have your scent. Suddenly, his heart sinks even more: here are your maternity clothes that you kept for next time you might have been lucky enough to get pregnant .

You were so depressed when you lost the pregnancy. J didn’t really care about having a baby, but seeing you cry for days and being so upset, he started to be upset too. He even took a few weeks off and laid low at the penthouse with you. You were sobbing all night and he used to stay awake and talk to you, caress your hair and plan how to get rid of the Bats. It made you feel better and he knew it.

“Please stop crying, baby doll,” he used to beg and he is not the type that begged.” You are going to get sick and who’s going to help me with everything I have to do, hmmm?… Are you going to eat something in the morning?”

You just looked at him with teary, bloodshot eyes.

“Our baby is gone, J. Gone… There’s nothing here,” you said, taking his hand and place it on your tummy, crying harder when he kissed it.

“It’s ok, Princess, we’ll try for another one,” he finally told you one time, hoping it will calm you down.

“For reals?” you finally smiled after he thought you’ll never smile again.

“Yes, for reals.”

“You promise?” You immediately looked so full of hope.

“I promise. Now stop crying, you’re so ugly when you cry,” he joked, waiting for you to elbow him in protest.

But your dream never came true.

His thoughts are interrupted by a knock at the door. J already knows who it is.

“Come in, Frosty.”

He heads towards the living room so he can talk to his right hand.

“Hi, Boss. I know you’re… busy, but…about tonight…”

“Do whatever you need to do, Frosty, you’re in charge,” he mutters, cutting him off, visibly distressed, grabbing your cell phone he keeps on the table.

“OK, boss, I’ll take care of everything.” Frost knows to tread lightly so he won’t aggravate the Joker even more. He opens the door to leave, but he makes up his mind and turns around.

“Do you want something to eat?”

“I’m not hungry,” and by the tone of J’s voice, Frost knows to leave the matter alone. He’s just worried about his boss. He doesn’t eat, by the looks of it he doesn’t sleep, he’s on the edge and nothing good could come out of it. But maybe it won’t last forever…In the meantime, he will just do his job and make sure everybody else is doing theirs.

After Frost leaves, J goes out on the balcony. This was your favorite spot in the penthouse because you loved the view from the 30th floor.

He turns on his cell phone, pressing on the first contact on his list: “Princess.”

He watches your own phone turning on in his other hand, sadly smiling at your wallpaper: a picture of him sleeping, his green hair all over his face. He winces when he hears your voice:

“Helllloooo, this is Y/N. If you’re not my Puddin, I don’t care so don’t bother leaving a message. If you are my Puddin, you can leave a message after the beep. I’ll probably see you in a few minutes. (you giggle) I love you, muaaahhhhhh.”

He replays the message again. He misses your voice so much.

“…..muahhhhhhh.” Again…and again…

If he knew he’d lose you that day, he would have left you behind. But you always wanted to participate in everything. You were a good business partner and a good shooter, you always had his back. And never took no for an answer. Just as stubborn as he was.

You were sitting on his lap, tracing the visible tattoos on his chest from under his jacket, pretending to be bored at the meeting, but actually very alert and ready to act if needed. You loved to play the indifferent, clueless girlfriend with the new business partners; it gave you time to study them and observe if something was wrong.

That’s why you were the first to notice the gun pointed at J from behind the wall, already firing bullets in a split second. No time to do anything else but stand up and position yourself in front of him. Everything happened so fast.

J didn’t even realize you were hit until he saw blood soaking through your white shirt. Then another bang, and another one. You stood still, gasping for air, trying not to collapse, shielding him.

All hell broke loose: gunshots shrieking from one side to the other, a few more hit you in the crossfire before you fell, wheezing, squinting your eyes in pain.

The Joker caught you before you hit the floor, not even giving a damn about the carnage or the fact that he could get hit too.

Within seconds, Frost and your henchmen placed themselves in front of both of you, shutting at large, already knowing they messed up big time.

J was on his knees, shocked, not knowing what to do, holding you with one hand and pressing your wounds with the other, desperate to stop the bleeding. There was so much blood it dripped on the floor and soaked his clothes too. Your lips kept on slightly moving, repeating something that he couldn’t hear with all the noise around. He brought you closer to him, leaning your head on his shoulder and he finally heard your whisper:

“Say… you…love…me…say…you…love…me…”

He doesn’t remember ever feeling like he’s going to die from despair until that very moment when he knew he can’t do anything for you. Your breathing was getting shallow and your lips didn’t move anymore. You just looked at him, slowly blinking, your vision getting cloudy, holding on with all you had got, waiting for him to say the words.

“I love… you,” you heard him say, and you wanted to tell him not to ever cry because nobody can see the Joker cry. But you couldn’t say the words.

“I love… you.”

That’s all you heard before you closed your eyes.

It’s starting to get breezy on the balcony. He cracks his neck, placing your cell phone in his pocket, not sure what to do with his.

He finally decides and dials Frost’s number.

“Yes, sir?”

“Bring the car around and leave the engine on, I have to go somewhere. Alone. I’ll be back in a few days.”

“OK, boss.”

The Joker gets his purple coat and glances at your picture in the hallway before taking his leave.

“See you soon, baby doll,” he smiles, closing the door behind him.

Petals and Ink  Part five

Summary: Michael and Jeremy struggle to find the right words when texting each other. Jena spills Rich’s secret.

Genre: Fluff

Warnings: Mild swearing

Word count: 1510

Michael lay off the side of his bed staring at his phone. Jeremy’s contact was pulled up, but he had no idea what to say. What do people even say in this kind of situation. “ Does this mean he likes me back? Is this a real number? What if this is fake? Why would he give me his number? What do I say?” he thought. He looked across the room at Daisy in her tank. “ You got any ideas girl?” Michael asked. The room was silent. “ Nothing? That’s what I thought.” he sighed. He continued to sit and stare at his phone.

Jeremy sat at his office trying to draw. He kept checking his phone every minute. He couldn’t focus. “Why hasn’t he texted or called yet. This was a bad idea I should never have taken this stupid risk. Why did I give him my number? Uggg I’m such an idiot. He probably thinks I’m a creep. God why am I like this. He definitely thinks I’m a creep.” Jeremy though. He chewed on his pencil trying to clear his mind. His phone buzzed. Jeremy’s face lit up, he grabbed his phone and looked at the screen. “ Jakey_D liked you photo.”
“ God dammit! Why did I do this?” Jeremy yelled tossing his phone onto the table. He sunk back into his chair.
“ What’th the matter now?” Rich sighed walking in. He saw Jeremy sulking in his chair. “ Are waiting for flower power to text you.” Jeremy grew bright red. “ Oooo Jeremy'th got a boyfriend.” Rich teased.
“ S-shut up man. He’s not my boyfriend. He hasn’t even texted me yet. Ugg why did i give him my number?”
“ Yeah bad move dude you gotta let them come to you.” Rich said smugly. Jena appeared in the doorway.
“ Oh so is that why you refused to talk to Jake for so long and just decided to stalk his social media instead of talking to him?” She smirked.
“ W-what?” Rich stuttered trying to act smooth.
“ Drop the act Rich. Jake isn’t here your tough guy stick won’t be ruined.” Jena said.
“ What no, I don’t have a thing for Jake. He’s my bro. Where would you get that idea?” Rich said.
“ Wait you like Jake?” Jeremy asked confused.
“ Yep. Maybe if your head wasn’t in Michael land twenty four seven you would see the obvious.” Jena smirked.
“ What no, g-groth man. I don’t have a crush on Jake.” Rich defended.
“ Hey Jake what’s up man?” Jena smiled as she waved to the space behind Rich. The color drained from Rich’s face and he mad an inhuman squeal. He whipped around only to see Jake wasn’t there. Jena burst into laughter.
“ Don’t do that. Thtop looking at me that way, thith doesn’t prove anything.” Rich stammered.
“ You know, a wise man once said to me. If you don’t like him then why are you being so defensive.” Jeremy smirked. Rich went red in the face.
“ Thut the fuck up. At least I’m not the one checking my phone every thirty theconds.”
Jeremy rolled his eyes. Rich and Jena left to work on there own stuff. Jeremy grabbed his phone and flicked it on. Nothing.

Michael groaned. Why was this so hard for him. It’s just a text. He stared at the little blue cursor blinking waiting for him to type. “ He probably doesn’t even care. Why did he give me his number. Why can’t I think of anything? Why am I like this?” He thought. Cathy walked into his room.
“ I’m ordering food, you want something?” She asked. She looked down at her brother. “ What’s wrong.”
“ Nothing.” Michael pouted.
“ Michael you laying upside down on your bed staring at your phone you’re not fine.”
“ I’m fine really ok.” he bluffed. Cathy sat down on the bed next to him.
“ Whats wrong. Did Doddie miss a veda?” Michael rolled his eyes.
“ Those are in August not June.”
“ Ok then why are you pouting?” Cathy asked.
“ I am not pouting.” Michael scoffed. Cathy glanced at his phone.
“ Who’s Jeremy?” She asked. Michael turned red and shut his phone off.
“ No one. He’s a customer. I’m just trying to figure out how to word what the boquete I’m sorting for him looks like.” He bluffed. Cathy sat and looked at him for a second she smiled.
“ You are the worst liar I have ever met.” she laughed. Michael sighed and sat up. He buried his face in a pillow. “ You wanna tell me the truth?” She asked rubbing her brothers back.
Michael took a deep breath and told her everything. The tattoo shop what it was like talking to Jeremy. The electricity he felt those few times there hands brushed. How he felt inside when Jeremy smiled or laughed. He told her every little detail. With every word he told her Michael felt his face grow hotter. Cathy smiled at her brother’s confession. “ Well from what I’ve heard about him he sounds amazing.” Cathy said.
“ He really is.” Michael smiled. “ What do I say to him? You’ve had boyfriends and girlfriends, how do I do this?” asked Michael.
“ Start simple. Say hi.” Michael picked his phone up and opened messages. He looked down at the screen, Jeremy’s contact was pulled up. His hands shook as he typed, “ Hi.” and hit send.

Jeremy sat in his chair sketching a dog. Then his phone buzzed. He grabbed his phone and looked at the screen. “ New message from an unknown number.” “ Hi.” just as he was about to text back another message. “ Oh this is Michael by the way.” A smile spread across Jeremy’s face. Another message, “ Michael from Pastel Petals that is.” Jeremy laughed as he texted back.

J - “ Hey. What’s up?”
M- “ Nothing much. Just chilling with my sis.”
J- “ Katie right?”
M- “ Cathy. Close though. Lol.” Michael sent a selfie of him and Cathy. Cathy held up peace signs and stuck her tongue out well Michael smiled.
M- “ What’s up with you?”
J- “ Still at work.”  Jeremy sent a picture of the dog he was drawing.
J- “ What do you think?”
M- “ Cute!”
J- “ Thanks.”

Michael looked up at his sister. “ Now what?”
“ Be honest. Say what you feel.” Cathy smiled as she ruffled Michaels hair. Michael began to type. “ Hey I wondering if you wanted…” He quickly deleted it. He started to type again, “ I think I..” He deleted it again. “ I think you really..” Nope. “ When I saw you I..” No. “ Do you like..” No.
“ I was wondering if you think I’m…” absolutely not.
“ Uggggg I can’t do this.” Michael groaned as he set his phone down.

Jeremy watched his phone. The eclipses appeared and disappeared. “ What is he typing?” Jeremy thought. The eclipses showed up on his screen for a while. Then they were gone. Jeremy felt panic grow in his chest. “ What was he gonna say? Why did he delete it? Did I say something wrong. I did. I definitely did. God what is wrong with me?” Jeremy thought his thoughts racing. His phone buzzed. Jeremy looked down at the message.

M-  “Hey hanging out today was really nice. You wanna hang out again tomorrow or something?”

Jeremy felt his face grow red butterflies built up in his stomach and a grin plastered across his face. There was a knock, he looked up to see Chloe standing in the doorway.
“ Hey can you cover Jake tomorrow, he’s got some family shit he has to deal with and he can’t make it so can you run an all day shift tomorrow..”
“ B-but I-” Jeremy started.
“ Thanks so much, your an angel Jeremy.” And just like that Chloe was gone.
“ Dammit.” Jeremy muttered.
“ I heard that.” Chloe said from the hall.

Michael stared down at his phone. It has been five minutes since he asked Jeremy if he wanted to hang out again. And he was starting to regret it. “ I shouldn’t have said that. I shouldn’t have said that. Oh god why did I do that. What is wrong with me? I pushed it too far.” He thought. Then his phone buzzed.

J-  “Sorry. I can’t. Work stuff.”

Michael’s heart sunk in his chest. He felt the tears well up in his eyes. Cathy looked at Michael’s phone. “ Psh typical excuse.” She scoffed as she wrapped her arms around Michael. Michael typed a response his fingers shaking.

M- “Oh it’s fine. I understand.”

Michael sighed as he leaned in to Cathy. “ You ok bud?” She said rubbing small circles on his back. “ Kinda.” Michael’s phone buzzed. He quickly read it. His face lit up.
“ What does it say?” Cathy asked. Michael read the text out loud.
“ Sorry my manager is making cover someone so I have an all day shift. But I’m totally down for Saturday if you’re free?”  Michael beamed. He hugged the phone close to his heart.
“ So, you gonna take up his offer?” Cathy smirked.
“ Oh right.” Michael said as he went to text Jeremy.

M- “Absolutely Saturday is perfect.”
J- “Saturday ,awesome. It’s a date.”
M- “It’s a date.”

Days when they couldn’t fit in their usual coffee break were the worst.

Lucy’s heart shrinked at least two sizes when she read his text.

Swamped with appointments today. Won’t make it to coffee time:/

She sighed, all the while trying to convince herself that her decline in mood was not bound to him exclusively. She’d miss her caffeine, too.

Yeah, right.

How much longer would she be able to kid herself?

With a smack, she dropped the bag of potting soil onto the floor, continuing to push it into the corner with her foot. With one last kick and a grim nod, her work was done. Maybe it would do her good. It was a busy day for her, too. Still…

Lucy sighed again.

Of course - she could easily get a coffee just for herself. But somehow, the thought didn’t sit right with her. It had been so long since she had bought a single cup, she’d feel empty-handed doing so. And Natsu had become a part of her routine, one she did not want to miss or exclude.

This was their thing. It didn’t feel the same, all alone.

She had just started preparing an order when the doorbell gave its usual jingle - and hope rose in her heart despite herself. It was around one o'clock. Maybe he had managed…?

When Lucy recognized the voice of her best friend, her troubles were momentarily forgotten. She wiped her hands on her apron and tried to dust off the remaining bits as she hurried into the show room.

"Thought I’d surprise you,” Levy grinned, holding a cupholder with four cups of coffee as she stood there in the middle of the room. Lucy’s lips almost started wobbling at the sight.

“You’re the best!”

“Is Natsu not here yet? I thought he always visited you around this time?”

Lucy didn’t miss the playful tease in her best friend’s voice, but as usual, a sassy enough answer wouldn’t come immediately. Instead, she grimaced, allowing her disappointment to show.

“He can’t make it today.”

“Talk about great timing. Damn! I soo wanted to see you two together.”

“Dammit, Lev, I told you it’s not like that!  We’re not teenagers anymore! Will you ever stop teasing me??”

“Of course not. It’s my duty as your best friend.”

Lucy rolled her eyes, but returned her grin anyways.

“Give me a sec, I’ll be right with you. Just gotta finish this bouquet.”

A little while later, after Levy had taken her usual spot on the counter, where she let her feet swing loosely, Lucy got the ribbons out of one of the drawers.

“Ooh! That sounds really interesting!”

“It is! I’ll start the article after lunch break. I’ve been doing voluntary extra hours to research it some more - it’s just so fun!”

Only Levy could manage to make working extra hours sound like fun. Lucy grinned.

Then again, it did sound awfully interesting. She couldn’t wait to buy the next issue of National Geographic. The origins of art, cave paintings in South Africa, 100000 year-old tools made of bones - and that was just what Levy would be writing about.

“But now, the important stuff. Tell me about tattoo boy some more.”

And just like that, Lucy’s grin wavered.

“What’s there to tell?” she asked as she peeked at her friend, wary of the impish look that had settled on her face. Her matchmaking look.

Only higher forces could save her now.

“Don’t try to tell me you don’t like him. You’re obviously disappointed that he’s not coming to see you today. And you’re always gushing to me over him. Natsu here, Natsu there. Of course you have a crush! Time to stop denying it to yourself.”

“But I can’t!”

“You can’t what? Stop denying it?”

“Leeev.” The sound of her name being drawled out in that so very familiar - yet everytime skin-crawling - manner made Levy shiver and laugh at the same time. She was getting there.

“What is it then, Lucy?”

“I - I don’t know!”

“Oh come on, Lu. It’s the same reason you’ve never managed to be in a relationship with anyone for long. The longest you had was, what, a little over a year with Leo? Just admit it.”

Lucy’s hands had stopped working on the ribbon she had been winding around the bunch of flowers.

“Admit what?!”

“That you’re scared.”

“You’re just really scared of people leaving you. Always been. And I know you don’t wanna hear this, but Lu, you’re holding yourself back.”

She turned her head towards her, and Levy knew she had been spot on. Her face looked guilty, as if she had been caught. Lucy sighed, giving her a fond yet exasperated look.

“I thought best friends are supposed to agree with you, not analyze your state of mind and tear you apart better than a psychologist.”

Levy chuckled.

“You know me - just being honest. You know, it’s really been a while since I’ve seen you this happy. You’re always so cheerful, having more fun than you did these last years. Just stop overthinking. You like him, don’t you?”

“I do,” she finally admitted. “But… I don’t know if he feels the same way. He’s so hard to figure out, ugh! Sometimes he’ll say or do things that make me all… I don’t know! I feel like a schoolgirl all over again. But then sometimes it’s like he doesn’t even realize I’m a woman, or something, and it’s just - I don’t know what I’m feeling anymore!”

“Hey, Lu?”

“You’re head over heels.”

“Shut up,” Lucy laughed, leaving her little chamber to lean against the doorframe. They smiled at each other. “My coffee turned cold, didn’t it?”

Levy handed over the cup, and Lucy opened the lit to peek inside. Then she took a careful sip. Luke warm. With a shrug of her shoulders, she gulped half of it down.

“Good enough.”

Levy jumped off the counter, her black low boots hitting the floor with an audible clank.

“Lu, I’ll be heading out now, or Erza will kill me. Wanna get take-out tonight?”

“Oh god yes. I love you.”

“Same.” She winked. “Around seven?”
