Parker Is... In Love?
Pairing: Kai Parker x Reader
Word Count: 1,402
Description: Damon Salvatore discovers that Kai Parker’s only weakness is you. He wants to use it to his advantage to get revenge for his own lover Elena, so he decides to play a game of matchmaker, only for his plan to backfire when he discovers your true feelings for him.
Warnings: Mentions of character death, major fluff.
Request: Hey I was wondering if possibly you could write something really mushy with either Kai Parker from Tvd’s or Sam Winchester. Like where they both are in love with eachother but neither wants to tell the other and either maybe Cas spills the beans or Damon. Thank you 😊
A/N: This is explained at first from Damon’s perspective of Kai and then transitions, but I just really love talking about Kai so, I hope you enjoy :)
Requests are open :)
Damon Salvatore was never fond of Kai Parker. He was the one person who single handedly destroyed his happiness. For a long time Damon was joyful and filled with life (ironically), able to take on the world.
Then Kai put his girlfriend in a coma and killed his best friend’s wife.
However, his time Damon held an advantage on Kai, he knew his deepest secret.
Kai Parker, the man who didn’t hold an ounce of humanity in him, was in love.
Present day Damon was now standing in front of Kai, who was begging to be let in past his front door.
“Damon please let me in so we can talk about this.”
Kai pleaded, sounding like a dramatic teen who just cheated on his girlfriend. He only wanted Damon to forget, and conversations like these have been occurring ever since Kai found out that Damon had known about his feelings towards you.
“Listen Kai, I don’t care what you have to say about anything. You need to stay away from me and my friends, especially (Y/N). Now, goodbye!”
Damon slammed the door in his face and rolled his eyes, angered by the fact that Kai Parker even thought he could have a girl like you.
You were nice and caring, always wished to put your friends first and wanting nothing less. Everyone was able to see you bright personality, which always shined through the dark times of life.
But, when Damon slammed the door on Kai, he didn’t take notice of your car pulling into the driveway.
As you walked along the pathway towards the front door, you noticed Kai standing with his back facing you and his hands on either side of the door frame.
“Kai? What are you doing here?”
You asked causing him to jump and look back at you. He gave you a shy smile and straightened out his shirt and jacket out of nervousness, you mirrored his grin and took a step up onto the porch.
“Hey, (Y/N)! I’m was just trying to get Damon to talk to me but I got the door slammed in my face again. The usual. What are you doing here?”
Kai crossed his arms and started to fidget with his feet in an attempt to shake off his nerves.
“I just came to check up on Damon and Stefan, and to drop off this.”
You held up a first edition copy of Romeo and Juliet, which you borrowed from the boy’s unused extensive library.
“Oh I see, well I hope I’ll see you around then, sometime?”
He said in an attempt to sound casual.
“Yeah I’ll see you around.”
You said with a smile as you knocked on the large wooden door. You heard Damon’s footsteps, and apparently so did Kai, for he rushed out of the Salvatore’s yard and drove away.
“Kai I told you- oh hey (Y/N). Come in.”
You entered the house and presented the book to Damon, seeing Stefan sitting in the couch and joining him there.
“So I bumped into Kai on your porch.”
You stated, wanted to know why Kai was so desperately trying to talk to your long time friend. Stefan grunted and placed down the cup off coffee he had made for himself.
“Is he never going to give up?”
Stefan directed towards Damon, you still unclear about the topic of conversation.
“Why does he keep bothering you guys? Does he want to apologize?”
You asked Damon as he walked over to the couch and poured himself a glass of whisky.
“I guess so, the bastard says he’s in love with you and wants to make amends to win you over.”
Your heart sped up from the indirect confession, for you have had feelings towards him for quite sometime, only suppressing them because of his violent past.
The good in people was never hidden from you view, and you got to see that goodness in Kai more than anyone else. This caused you to develop some feelings for him, plus you always had a thing for bad boys with a heart.
“No! No, no, no! (Y/N), you are not attracted to him! You are not allowed to be! He is evil!”
Damon exasperated, putting his whisky down before he spilt it.
“Did you forget I can hear your heart beating? It’s a no from me, you are not allowed to run into his toned arms!”
He looked over to Stefan for some back up, only for Stefan to unfold the newspaper and took back his coffee, drawing his eyes away from his older brother and friend.
“Are you kidding me? Help me out here.”
Damon spoke defeatedly, still over exaggerating his speech.
“Hey, if Elena could see the good in you after all you’ve done the same goes for (Y/N) and Kai.”
Stefan muttered from his makeshift newspaper shield.
At a loss for words, Damon grunted and walked away. You were left sitting next to Stefan on the couch, while he read his newspaper. In a way to acknowledge Stefan’s defense, you raise a small fist up, which he fist bumped back.
* * *
Not wanting to go against your best friend of five years you remained distance from Kai. However, everyday you would go to the Salvator house and try to persuade Damon to see your side of things.
Little did you know, Kai was doing the same thing, just after you left.
Eventually, soon after your feelings towards each other became apparent, Damon caved in.
“Listen Damon you know I’ll just keep coming back! Stefan made a good point! Plus, you said he wanted to apologize to you, he would probably want to fix things and-”
“Okay! Okay, I get it! Just sit on the couch and wait ten minutes, just trust me.”
After getting a response from Damon, you listened and sat on the couch, curious as to what would happen next.
Just as he said, ten minutes later a knock cam from the door. Damon placed his hand on the handle and looked back at you, opening the door to reveal Kai.
“Damon I think it’s about time that you-”
Annoyed, Damon grabbed his shirt sleeve and dragged him inside, closing the door behind him. Then he brought him over to where you sat and pushed his towards you.
“I’ve had it from you two, I am so sick and tired of hearing about how much you deserve to give the other a chance! I mean really, I literally have time to waste but this nonsense is slowly killing me! Do me a favor and just make out already!”
As he was walking away, Kai spoke out.
Pausing and turning around, Damon spoke again.
“You love her, she loves you. Just stop bothering me.”
Kai looked back over to you shyly, both of your cheeks covered in a light blush.
“Um, I was trying to apologize to Damon for all the things that I’ve done for a while now. I just was hoping if I got on good terms with him you would see that I was worthy of your attention.”
He confessed, sitting down next to you.
“I’m surrounded by vampires and werewolves, what you did hurt my friends and I but I find that with forgiveness amends can be made.”
You responded to Kai, he smiled and took your had in his, running his thumb over your knuckles.
“I think I’ve known for a long time you’ve always treated me differently than the others, they all looked at me with hate while you looked at me with sympathy.”
“I like to think I see the good in people and you weren’t an acceptation.”
You both smiled and laugh, your hand never leaving his.
“Can I just kiss you now?”
Kai said biting his lip, while you just leaned in to capture his kiss.
You moved your hand away from his and placed it on his cheek, while he moved his to your waist, never breaking away from your lips.
When you two broke apart, Kai pulled you into him and wrapped his arms around you, wanting to close the distance between you and him.
“My bounty is as boundless as the sea,
My love as deep; the more I give to thee,
The more I have, for both are infinite.”
“Did you just quote Romeo and Juliet?”
“I thought it was fitting.”
