i just remembered katniss

And I won’t fight in vain.                                                                                                                I love you just the same.

I just remembered how Katniss and Johanna teamed up to rise themselves up after all what happened to them and started taking care for each other and training together and push each other to the end of the line and how they managed to overcome some pretty shit together like Johanna helping Katniss coping with some of her traumas and Katniss helping Johanna train under the rain after she developed a terribly fear of it after her being tortured by the Capitol and I will never forgive the movies for not showing any of that

The Victory Train

Summary: “Peeta, this is your Victory Tour,” Effie, his manager, said. “You just won a Tony. You’re young and you’re talented, and you don’t need Glimmer as your leading lady.”

“Then, who is going to play Christine?” Peeta asked in exasperation. “We’re heading out in three days.”

“There’s my sister,” Prim, the young blonde who played Meg Giry, timidly offered. “She can sing.”

Art imitates life. Costume designer Katniss Everdeen is about to play the role of a lifetime.

My birthday is coming up soon on January 1st (my thirtieth!). I completely understand if it's too late of notice, but if not, I would adore a drabble where they are returning to each other years later after an initial breakup, matured and ready for it to stick this time. Either way, I adore you guys!

“You’re coming, that’s the end of it.” I roll my eyes even though Finnick can’t see me through the phone. “I know you’re rolling your eyes,” he says.

“It’s not that I don’t appreciate the thought,” I try, but he’s having none of it.

“You only turn thirty once, Peet. I’m not going to let you spend the day wallowing and pining over that girl.”

Regarding historical accuracy: I'd love for all movies and series which are done in a medieval or medieval like setting to have serious hairy people. Also, bad teeth, fat people (fat meant rich and thus was a status symbol during most of the medieval time), etc. Imagine that in GoT... (I just remembered how Katniss in the book felt so weird having her hair removed and how she felt naked and wondered why people did such a senseless thing... imagine a hairy PoC Katniss, that'd be accurate)

I’ve never watch Game of Thrones, so I can’t comment on that. But I think it would be awesome if things were genuinely historically accurate.

Toastbabies and Gingerbread Houses

“Peeta, have you seen my arrows?” Katniss yelled down from the entrance of the basement door.

“Aren’t your arrows are in the closet in the mud room by the back door?”

“Peeta, I looked there!” Katniss was getting grumpy.  As she stalked to the kitchen she felt a draft as if the door had been open, but she did not find it strange.  This house was drafty sometimes.   She opened the door and sure enough her sheath was there, except she was missing a few arrows.

A drabble in which Katniss works a shitty retail job and has to help a lost little girl find her dad. I bet you can guess who the dad is. Basically I’m just prompting myself at this point.

“Hey Catpiss,” Clove greeted with an ugly smile.

Katniss scowled but said nothing back. Twenty-two years old, and it was like she had never left high school. She had hoped once she graduated and entered the working world, there’d be less catty girls, but it seemed there would always be girls like Clove.

“So rude,” Clove chastised. “Have fun this afternoon.” She wiggled her fingers and drifted off toward the backroom.

Katniss groaned when she saw the mountain of unsorted clothing sitting in the shopping cart. Clove hadn’t bothered to hang anything up. Katniss inspected the dressing rooms and found three still full of clothing.

Damn it. Clove was useless. She had likely spent her entire shift sitting on her ass, playing with her cell phone. There was a rumor that Clove had a trust fund, and her father had made her get a job to learn the value of hard work before she inherited millions for doing nothing.

It didn’t seem like the message was getting through.

The only reason Clove hadn’t been fired yet was because she was sleeping with their manager, Seneca Crane. He was alright looking, but he was almost twice their age. Katniss was pretty sure Clove had some daddy issues to work through.

Peeta rinses the pearl off in the water and hands it to me. “For you.” I hold it out on my palm and examine its iridescent surface in the sunlight. Yes, I will keep it. For the few remaining hours of my life I will keep it close. This last gift from Peeta. The only one I can really accept. Perhaps it will give me strength in the final moments. “Thanks,” I say, closing my fist around it.

waking up with amnesia au

Once again, thank you to taylorswift for her brilliant album 1989 which contains some lyrics that I used and gave me the inspiration for this prompt.

Katniss opened her eyes groggily, her alarm clock beeping steadily beside her. She immediately shut her eyes again and groaned at it, as if the sound would silence the machine, but when it didn’t, she swung her arm over to slap the damn thing into submission.

“Five more minutes,” she mumbled, slumping back down into the bed before stilling all her movement, all her senses on high alert.

Underneath her hand was not her alarm clock. No, this object was warm, and soft, and faintly vibrated as if it were chuckling. She moved her hand around slightly, willing her eyes to stay shut. People chuckling softly around her invaded her little bubble.

Her hand froze over a part of the thing that matched up perfectly with her still insistent alarm clock. It was rhythmic. Almost like a…. Heartbeat.

What she realized was a heart monitor and not an alarm clock picked up it’s pace as she came to this realization. So it must be connected to me.

The beat under her hand quickened along with hers, beating in perfect synchronization.

Hers skipped a beat when she heard her name said so timidly and hopefully in the most beautiful voice she had ever heard. Deep. Rich. A little gravely from tiredness. Home.

“Katniss?” The object vibrated beneath her hand with the word.

She opened her eyes and felt the heartbeat under her hand skip a beat of it’s own.

Staring down at her with the most sincere form of hope and… Love? Was a young man slightly taller than herself, a mop of blonde curls on his head, a lopsided smile that seemed to not be going anywhere anytime soon that met up with an anchor of a dimple, and the most beautiful, bright blue eyes, that she could only compare to the sky.

He seemed to exude hope and love and happiness in waves, but his eyes…. Katniss saw something extra there. Home.

“Katniss!” He exclaimed, hugging her tightly, his body shaking with apparent silent tears.

His arms were so strong, and they made her feel safe, and he was so warm, she couldn’t help but return the hug, a smile surprising her as it crawled up her face.

When he pulled back and looked at her, wiping his face of his tears, she immediately missed his absence, but missed his smile even more as it slowly faded when she finished her question.

“Who are you?”

Katniss slumped back in the hospital bed, absorbing the information.

Apparently she and Blondie - Peeta, she corrected herself - were driving out of their apartment complex - Which means we share an apartment - on their way to his family’s cabin by the lake for the weekend, and within about fifteen seconds of driving, a drunk driver had come into the complex, and T-boned them, hitting the driver’s side.

Blo- Peeta, being the driver, had injured his leg badly, having to get an amputation and was now learning to use his prosthesis.

Katniss had bashed her head pretty badly, and had been in a coma for several weeks.

And now, she had amnesia.

Fan freaking tastic.

And it only seemed to be for Blo- Peeta. She chewed the inside of her lip in annoyance at herself.

People had come in and out all day, her mother, her sister, her friends, doctors, and tried to get her to remember something about Peeta - She mentally patted herself on the back - but to no avail.

Now it was just Peeta there beside her bed, sitting in a chair, staring at her, his hands clasped tightly in his lap.

“They’re discharging me in the morning. The doctor told me right before you walked in.” Small talk was never her strong suit, that much she could remember.

He nodded absently. “That’ll be nice. I know you hate these places.” Katniss was kicking her mind for not remembering this wonderful Adonis of a man in front of her who remembered that she hated hospitals.

A spark seemed to go off in his eyes, mischievous if anything.

“What?” She asked, feeling adventurous.

He smiled slyly. “Let’s get out of here.”

“I said tomorrow morning.”

“No. I mean, let’s get out of town. Go to the cabin. Everyone is overwhelming you. You do your best in solitude. I’ll drive you out to the cabin when you are discharged tomorrow and we’ll spend the weekend in a mental rehab of sorts.”

“Are you serious?” Why was she smiling?

“Yeah! See if we can jog your memory.”

She groaned. “Oh God. Exercise?”

He laughed. “Well, at least your sarcasm is still intact.”

She smiled, despite the mild sting of the comment, and the sting in his eyes of internal pain.

What the hell.

Katniss figured after this weekend he would leave her, frustrated with her not remembered a damn thing. After all, nothing lasts forever. Right?

And he was so tall, and handsome as all get out….

“Sure.” She smiled.

“Great! I just have one condition.”

Katniss’ stomach dropped. Great.

“Say you’ll remember me.”

The next day they got to the cabin, and Katniss felt scandalous. Running off with a stranger. But he’s not a stranger, he’s Peeta! She stopped walking, her thought seeming to echo in her head, a long lost argument with her mother.

Shaking her head, she walked inside to see Peeta already unloading the few bags of groceries they had gotten from a farmer’s market along the way.

The whole moment was fuzzy for the briefest, the situation happening before, but the fresh goods seemed to float into cabinets on their own, no one in particular manning the job.

Blinking rapidly a few times brought Peeta’s smiling face back to her.

She walked up the stairs and to the first room on the right out of pure instinct. Opening the closet, she rifled through the clothes. The bathing suit should be behind- How did she know that? She stilled her movements, hovering over the hangers. Daring herself forward, she pushed back the remaining pieces of cloth to find the bathing suit.

Clenching it in her hand, she walked to the top of the steps, and hollered down to Peeta, trying to keep her voice steady. “Hey, Peeta?”

“Yeah?” He answered, still in the kitchen.

“I’ve been here before, right?”

She heard his loud footsteps quickly approach the stairs. Standing at the bottom of the banister he looked up at her. “Yes. Many times.”

“Okay. Just checking.”

And with that she was back off to the room with the closet, locking the door behind her.

Sitting on the edge of the bed, she stared at the closet, one dress in particular catching her eye. She remembered twirling in it, looking down as it billowed out underneath her, and the distant laugh of a man. It sounded like Peeta.

She shook her head yet again, and changed into the bathing suit.

She rifled through drawers, looking for a towel, when she came across a drawer full of men’s clothes. Crazy be damned, she picked one up and sniffed it. Peeta’s.

A flash of laughter, kissing, a husky voice to a faceless stranger, strong calloused hands in her hair, clothes strewn around the room.

“Shhhhh! They’ll hear us!” she remembers saying with a…. Giggle?

“Oh, right, because Gale and Madge have been so quiet themselves.” A voice that was unmistakably Peeta.

She had to get out of the room. Walking briskly down the staircase she glanced at the photos on the wall as she passed by.

“I’ll meet you at the lake!” She called over her shoulder, only to jump in surprise at finding Peeta waiting outside the front door for her, picnic basket in hand, and grin on his face.

“I was wondering when you were going to have to get outside. Longer than usual.”

She scowled at him, only to make him laugh.

They swam all day, splashing each other playfully.

Finally as the sun was setting she asked him another question out of the millions she must have asked that day. “What’s your favorite color?”

She scrunched up her nose and he laughed.

“And no, not like construction cone orange. Like a sunset.”

They both turned to look out over the lake, the layers of color in the sky blending with the trees.

He scooted close to her on the blanket, leaned in and pointed. “Do you see that cloud?”

“I see all the clouds. I have amnesia, I’m not blind.”

Without looking at her he playfully slapped her arm, and continued to point. “The one above the dead tree.”

That is my favorite color.”

Suddenly it all came back to her.

Right here, in this very spot, Peeta knelt down in front of her, sunset and lake to one side, cabin to the other. She was wearing that dress from the closet, and she had said yes when he proposed, her cheeks already dusted with blush blushing and her red lipstick leaving a mark on Peeta’s cheek.

She remembered feeling happy beyond her wildest dreams.

They had celebrated with all their friends that night in the cabin, the scene from the drawer of Peeta’s clothes coming back and making her blush.

As the sunset faded to twilight, she dashed into the house, Peeta silent but hot on her heels.

She went to the staircase and browsed the photos.

Some had Peeta kissing her cheek, or vise versa. Some of them posing at a concert or other event. Finally she found the one she wanted.

Two black silhouettes with the sunset behind them, one down on one knee, holding up a ring box, the other standing, hands held to her mouth.

Pointing to it, she turned to Peeta. “That’s us, right?”

He nodded, that look of hope and love having never left his eyes growing even stronger.

“We’re engaged?”

“Are you asking, or stating?”

“Stating. With a question mark.”

He laughed, and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. He always did. Katniss was happy dancing in her head for remembering that.

“Do you want to be?”

“Always.” She didn’t even hesitate.

“Good. That makes this a little less awkward.” He said as he pulled out the engagement ring from his back pocket.

Katniss watched as Peeta slid it on her finger slowly. “My precious,” she purred, laughing when she looked up at the obviously disturbed look on his face.

Peeta chuckled. “Well, I hope not always.”

She looked at him quizzically.

“Hopefully an engagement will lead to a wedding. So you won’t always be engaged.”

She smiled as she lightly shoved him in the chest. “Anything with you is an always for me.”

Her breath caught in her throat as Peeta leaned forward, crashing his lips into hers. He pulled back slightly, their foreheads leaning against one another, as he muttered sorrys and laced his fingers into her hair like the memory, making her shudder.

Leaning forward he kissed her again, this time softy, and slowly.

She pulled away after a moment. “Why don’t we go make some new memories?”

Peeta beamed at her, his eyes twinkling. He swept her up into his arms, carrying her bridal style, and she leaned her head into the crevice of his neck, breathing him in with a smile.

The twinkle in his eyes, the warmth of being in his arms, the safety, the way he smiled, the way he smelled…. She realized she had remembered the most important thing first.

Jennifer Lawrence on the alienation of fame: 'The whole world starts looking at you differently' | EW.com
Jennifer Lawrence has always been apprehensive about fame. It’s why she took three days to decide to star as Katniss Everdeen in the original The Hunger Games back in 2011. And it’s likely why she relates so well to the Girl on Fire, a character who gradually learns how to take control of the attention thrusted upon her. Yet that understanding doesn’t mean it’s not difficult.

“The whole world starts looking at you differently,” she says of the almost overnight fame that came with playing Katniss. “I remember getting really emotional just trying to get a coffee because I felt everywhere I looked, everybody was reacting and it made me feel alienated. All of a sudden, I didn’t feel a part of humanity in this weird way.”

Lawrence credits her close group of friends with keeping her sane when the spotlight began to shine so bright on her after The Hunger Games opened in March 2012.

“I was living with my best friend and I surrounded myself with such a good group that were all, obviously, looking at me the same,” she added. “So in my intimate world, nothing changed.”

Yet, despite the forces around her that helped keep her grounded, Lawrence found the loss of privacy upsetting.

“I was angry for a long time because I felt like I should have the right to drive without being followed. I should have the right to not be photographed, especially when you’re going to put my picture next to a story that came out of f—ing nowhere,” she says. “I was so angry for a long time and now I feel like I just don’t have the energy for that anymore. I’ve got such a great life and such a great job. There are some s—ty things that come along with it, but you know, whatever.”

The final installment of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 will open on Nov. 20. To read the entire interview with Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth, pick up the latest copy of Entertainment Weekly magazine.

Oh! Another couple of FCBD gems I just remembered!
-A little girl asked for a sketch of Katniss, and as I was drawing it for her, I was chatting, and asked if she was team Peeta or team Gale and she was like “oh I don’t care, Katniss is awesome without them” and I wanted to jump over the table and give her all the high fives
-I was also selling my “Sempai Noticed Me!” Buttons, and a girl picked one up and was like “I don’t need a sempai to notice me!” And I was like “oh? That’s awesome! Rock on!” And then she goes “I WANT AN ALPHA TO NOTICE ME” and I nearly died.

So I read your Everlark at the Oscars thing, and now all I can think about is Sadie and Katniss filming Lorelai's death scene. And all I ask of you is to write that. Of course, I am but a peasant and you are pretty much Queen of the Everlark. Plz tho

Here it is, though not quite death…more like a prelude to it. I actually think it’s a pretty good scene.

Watch for the sudden character change, because Katniss easily turns her character on then off.

Happy Reading!

“Cut!” Haymitch Abernathy strode over to Katniss, patting her shoulder. “You did well. We’re just about ready to film that last scene.”

Katniss smiled at the man as Rue, her make-up artist, touched her up. It had been difficult to keep her faux grayish pallor, but the up-and-coming artist knew her craft well. She made sure that Katniss’ olive skin was contoured perfectly to make her look gaunter.

Reviewing footage of her past scenes, Katniss was surprised at how well it showed up on film.

“Where’s Sadie?” she asked the director.

Haymitch nodded his head towards the trailers to the far end of the set. “Peeta wanted to have a talk with her about this next scene.” He sighed, his eyes contemplative for a moment. “She is Johanna’s girl, through and through.”
