i just really like that texture

安納芋もなかアイス // Sweet Potato Monaka Ice
…They really did make this look like a sweet potato, though. Nobody can say they didn’t do that.

I liked the textural contrast of the monaka (like a cone) with the ice cream and the gooey potato paste. That was pleasant. And it tasted fine. It’s just…

I think it just looked too much like a potato. They did too good a job. I couldn’t get around that.

Mochi is a flavor sponge and the two varieties are infused with a totally different type of plant. Perhaps Hinata just isn't a fan of what red bean paste does to the texture in sakuramochi or something...

Hmm…Why are we still talking about that? We all have some foods we like and some we dislike. There is no need to search for a deep meaning behind it really. I just don’t like it, that’s all. I never thought about why I didn’t. It’s a bit useless…It’s just food.

(we’re starting the event early because i’m gonna be mostly gone this weekend SO)

You wake up. Something seems a little different in Thotdea. For starters, there’s the sound of a MIDI piano playing faintly in your ear. And your bed has really, really sharp corners, not to mention your pillows have just become rectangular prisms with a texture on them.

Then, you look at your hands.

They’re…just blocky fists. No fingers. No thumbs.

You let out a deafening stock scream.

FOR ONE WEEK (2/23~3/2), all of Thotdea is low-poly and everything is just like an N64 game! It’s hard to grab things unless you can figure out how to make stuff float towards you, random things are unusable, including essentials, and stupid shit like keys are the only things you can pick up. Your inventory contains a maximum of 5 slots.

Everybody looks weird when they walk, and there are only three death animations. And ancient tunes of days gone by are the only things playing over the intercom.

Did I mention some doors are just textures on the wall?

(on the night of the 26th, something may happen…!)

I haven’t really openly thanked my followers yet soooo this is dedicated to you guys :) thank you so much for sticking around, and I just want you guys to know I appreciate every single one of you!! I’ve taken the floral textures from that city living dress and put them on some jeans :’) I hope you guys like it!

  • 2 designs on 8 of the natural swatches of the jeans

also thank you @lazerlemon for the model Kat!

Other artists: “I have so many brushes in Photoshop! I use this one for clouds, I’ve got this one that does really nice leaves and I have a different one for grass too. This one has just the right texture for doing skin, this one is good for hair, and this one is really good for short fur like on a dog or something. I’ve also seen a really nice brush pack that I am looking forward to trying tonight!”

sunny day

How do you always draw hair so amazing?? I don't understand, like what is your process and everything?

Ohh, well thank you so much! 💛 Well, I really just follow the basics and sort of improvise from there. But to start, I think of where the parting is.

Then how the physics of the specific hair works. Some hair has more volume and flexibility than others. Keeping it rounder gives it more mass.

An easy way to give hair texture is through repitition of thin, long and short lines

Again, consider how hair falls under any condition, and how it specifically wraps around the person. Sharper lines make the hair look thinner, rounder lines make it look thicker.

And finally, I color it, the lines and add a bit of highlights and shading.

Chances are, you’ve probably these tips a lot, but once you learn the basic physics and fundamentals of how hair roughly works, it gets pretty easy to experiment with it. Hope this helps! 💛

may i ask how your drawings look watercolor like ?? is it a special brush you are using ? love your art btw !! keep it up ^o^

i mainly used this brush for the coloring

i got most of my brushes from devianart!! n just did go randmon with the settings  really ´ V `;;

  • for the water color effect just add a new layer above your base (clipping + FRINGE!!!) and there you go  = W =
  • for some nice effects you can also add an overlay layer (or some textures)

Day 27: Magnus + Madzie

The sound woke him up. A quick shuffling of feet that brought to mind, wise but lonely eyes in a young face, thick textured hair and a little girl who hadn’t smiled as much since Alexander had brought her to his loft a couple of days prior.

With a flick of his fingers he was dressed and was soon on his way, following the sound like little breadcrumbs till they led him to the kitchen where he stopped for a long moment to watch Madzie as she splayed her hands out over the doll Alexander had gotten her when she’d first moved in.

The doll’s head was tilted to the side, the hands broken, and Madzie bit her lower lip, brows furrowed hard as she squinted and mumbled, fingers working with short sharp movement that ended with her releasing a little huff as she glared at her still broken doll.

The expression was so similar to one Alexander had worn when he was frustrated that something wasn’t going right for him that Magnus found himself smiling.

He must have given himself away at some point because Madzie whipped around, those dark eyes meeting his before she glanced down, a brief flash of misery on her face. She hunched her shoulders and took a step back, fingers absently reaching for her doll, then flexing as she pulled her fingers back into the pocket of her dress.

“I remember the first time I ever used my powers,” Magnus said, going for calm as he leaned back against the doorjamb, head thrown back, eyes gazing into the distance, half stuck in the memory and the other half paying attention to Madzie who now that Magnus wasn’t looking at her, was glancing shyly right back at him.

Technique studies:

1+4. Alcohol Drops - These cause pigments to repel from where the alcohol is dropped forming ‘fish-eyes’. Spattering can also be used as a technique for cleaner circles or for more varied sizes. I think I will definitely use it for more natural textures, like forest  landscapes or underwater scenes.

2+3. Salt - Really popular and frequently used, it absorbs pigment and creates a snowflake type texture. I just used small grains for these texture studies, but I am going to experiment with larger flakes to see how they effect the overall color/visuals.

A quick overview of all of my current projects:

*Posy Cardigans 1 & 2. 1 is complete and I just started on the sleeves of 2!

*White Cabled Scarf, will be a Christmas gift. I love the stitches so much. I can’t wait to make a fisherman cabled sweater.

*Gray socks, were a possible Christmas gift, most likely not. Instead using them as a way to test out stitches. Its pair will not be the same.

*Sandy Tweed Cowl, just an excuse to play with texture and use up some yarn. Liking the outcome so far!

That’s all!

Guillemot aka common murre skeleton.

Hell yeah record time! From whole bird to complete skeleton in under 2 days!

The slow cooker worked REALLY well. The bones have a tiny bit of a chalky texture (mostly just the keel) but they are stable. Its also gentle enough to not destroy the beak which is rad. It also doesn’t smell bad, just a light smell of cooking meat. defiantly tolerable.

I highly recommend slow cooking for fresh specimens if you have limited space. Bio washing powder (like the stuff for laundry) works wonders to get rid of flesh quicker. Turns it into transparent jello.

Any update on the jumpsuit or it's still being stupid 😫

its still being stupid still lol, but I’m just gonna re-mesh the legs of the jumpsuit again when I get some more time. If I just start over I can avoid the mistake I made last time I guess. I just didn’t want to start over ; ___ ; Ill figure something out…I said like 1 million times already.

Instead I started re-working on another past project, called “Curvies.” You get it? Instead of “skinnies” xD

The texture is far from done, and I’m still working on the mesh.I guess its a super early WIP. Since we haven’t figured out how to add more sliders yet, and I’ve really wanted a “curvy” body shape, I made these which allow you to make bigger hips/butt/thighs and calves when in game than you normally would.

The bad part is though, you can’t use them with shoes that past the ankles, but you guys said ya’ll didn’t really care last time asked sooooooooooooo….

Writing Letters to Santa like..

Dear Santa,

For Christmas this year I would really like an HD remake of Xenoblade Chronicles. You know, like Wind Waker level HD, not Twilight Princess where they just re-textured everything. I’m talkin full graphic overhaul. Also, it’d be great if you added that fashion feature in Xenoblade X where you can have the ugliest strongest stuff in the game equipped and still look cute as hell.

I would really appreciate it, also I’ll leave out double stuff oreos and chunky chocolate chip cookies for you -winkwink- Thanks Santa.
