i just needed something on my blog

anonymous asked:

How do you deal with hate? I get really upset when people on here are horrible to me and I don't know how to deal with it.

That’s what some people don’t understand. Being horrible may mean nothing to them but it upsets some people. Honestly, if people are rude to me, I just block them because I don’t want that kind of negativity on my blog. I don’t like arguments. I don’t like rude people. If I see something on someone else’s blog I disagree with, I scroll past it because I understand that people can say whatever they want on their own blog - some people cannot fathom that and feel the need to spew their input, even on strangers blogs…

At the end of the day, they’re clearly unhappy in their own lives that they feel the need to be rude or horrible to strangers online. Try not to let it get to you because I can guarantee, you’re a much better person than they are and when they mature, they’ll realise that.

wowwie

So, I woke up this morning to 40+ messages in my inbox. Holy shit. I’m glad so many of you are here for me even when I have a melt down over something so minuscule. Thank you guys so, so much. I think I just… needed a break? I hit a really big follower milestone last nigh and the fact that there are so many people following my dumb little sideblog made me really nervous. I mean, I’ve been on tumblr for 5+ years and my main blog hasn’t even broke 500 followers.

So, thank you guys. I won’t respond to every message because there are 46 messages in my inbox and holy shit thats a lot of love, but I did read every message and every single one made me cry (a lot). Thank you. ThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyouThankyou.

y’all are the best

i recently just cleaned out my blog and unfollowed a bunch of inactive blogs/stuff i’m not interested in anymore and noowwwww i need new blogs to follow!!! so if you post about:

-toppdogg
-exo
-monsta x
-got7
-bap
-tbh anyone but those are the main i like to blog about
-sf9
-pentagon
-victon
-block b
-k-dramas would be hella too

reblog or like or something and i’ll check your blog out :3 you don’t have to follow back but it’d be cool too /wiggles eyebrows

look I leave for work in an hour I have no time to actually do anything besides spam my blog about bullshit

but anyway, my favorite part of the ‘We need to Morph/fuck us we can’t Morph’ montage is the points where the Rangers are just standing around YELLING AT EACH OTHER To FOCUS. These actors are honestly fantastic and the moment is so genuine because they’re all frustrated and they’re all talking at once which is something I adore in cinema because so rarely do lines overlap and its CLEARLY adlibed but everyone is on point and I can’t wait to see the movie again. When I find a good rip, y’all are fucked

hiatus

okay. so. i’m going to be taking a break from tumblr for a while. it’s been a long time coming, i think; my follower count hasn’t changed in three months, my blog is mostly just queued posts, and i haven’t made edits or gifs in a long time. this website feels a little draining and more of an obligation than something i do for fun, you know? and i appreciate all of you wonderful people, but i just need to leave here for a while, especially with finals coming up.

i’ll still be queuing stuff- maybe about 3 times a day- but i’ll only be checking on here maybe every week or so to respond to messages and stuff. if you want my kik/sc to talk, just ask!

anyway, i probably won’t be back at least until the summer, or maybe even until the last jedi comes out or mark hamill drops a mixtape or something. we’ll see. ily y'all ✌🏻

Uuugh, Specs woke me up just to go shopping with him and I…wasn’t even mad. What the hell. I mean, we did need supplies, but. Maybe it was because it was just the two of us.

It was fun, anyway. Until something happened that was NOT IN ANY WAY MY FAULT, don’t listen to what Iggy says, and we might have had to go change our clothes. ((( ̄へ ̄井)

My post isn’t to claim I get treated any worse than other people with a platform. Although the gory photos are really something else… I just wanted to vent and this is my blog and that’s where I do that stuff. If you don’t like it, no worries. You can move along and it won’t hurt either of us. Thanks for all the kind words from people who have left them! I have a great life and I’ve gotten to meet so many amazing people in this journey who have moved me and given me a tremendous amount of courage. I just needed somewhere to put my thoughts and I remembered not too long ago, I was a 19 year old girl with a blog and this is exactly where I put them. So I came back to a familiar place. 💓

don’t worry - i promise i haven’t forgotten ro!

Here’s something I want you to do for me  :  go to a blog that you appreciate, or someone you see on your dash right now, or someone who you think could use some cheering up. On or off anon, tell them something  nice.  Spread positivity  because we’re a  community  of writers. Let’s not make drama and hate make us forget that  !  (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

Yuri on Ice.

I still haven’t checked all of Tumblr’s recent posts so maybe someone has translated it already, but this tweet by Mitsurou Kubo is just so beautiful I need to have it in my blog too.

“No matter what real people think about this anime, within its world no one is ever going to be discriminated against because of what they like. And that is something I will always protect.”

Further insight:
Before she tweeted this she made another tweet where she said that they (the production staff) are not going to say whether the scene at the end of episode 7 is a kiss or not, and they leave it completely to the fans’ imagination. Out of curiosity I checked the comments to that tweet and she actually got backlash from some people accusing her to be vague on purpose “to keep the fanservice on the level of queerbaiting without confirming anything serious”. I think the comment above is partly her answer to the complaints too. Just because it’s not stated out loud, it does not mean that the show is just winking at fujoshi and being superficial. They are much more serious about discrimination issues than many seem to think.

I will just finally say that seriously, they can have all my money. I was so moved reading that tweet and I’m so thankful to all of the staff involved for creating such a wonderful anime. I never expected it to be so deep and so revolutionary compared to anything else in Japan. I hope they can get back the production costs and maybe we can even have a sequel too somewhere in the future.

(By the way, please buy the BDs/DVDs if you can afford and are even remotely interested in them, because that’s where the production team is getting most of their profit from)

Biphobia in Fandom

I’m here with another fandom PSA, specifically to address the rampant biphobia going around right now, especially in regards to attacking ships like Kallura and Shallura for being “straight”. I’ve already written something like this on my personal blog, but for here, it’s a little less, erm, “strongly worded” I guess. I was pretty angry when I wrote the first one. And, I’ll be honest, that anger has not subsided.

Long and short of it, arguing that M/F ships in this fandom is heteronormative is not fighting against heteronormativity, it is reinforcing it.

Heteronormativity assumes that straight is the norm and everything else is a deviance. Ultimately, it reduces people’s sexualities (which go far deeper than relationships btw) to the assumed gender of their partner and what they do with their partner behind closed doors. It also goes hand-in-hand with biphobia.

Attacking m/f ships just because they look straight is textbook biphobia. And pan/ace/poly/trans-phobia. When I mention bisexuality from here on out, I am including them, too.

I am a bisexual woman married to a man. That marriage does not magically wash away the biphobic bullshit I still have to endure from both straight people and my own community. 16 years of my life was spent living in a Southern state with all its extremely religious and homophobic trappings that we hear so much about so trust me I know. And lemme tell you, straight people do not consider us one of them, they consider us gay and just as damned for hell. I’ve heard it and lived it again and again for 16 years and long after, and only in the recent years have just now started peeling away my internalized biphobia embedded in me and fighting back.

I need everyone to watch this video. Notice that the moment the main character learns her date is bisexual. It destroys the otherwise romantic mood of a third date. Not a first date. A third. A guy she supposedly likes enough to date him multiple times. And then later, all she and her friends focus on is the fact that he is once dated a guy and that she needs to leave him.

This line here: “…but in the end they all ended up with men.” And “So did the bisexual women.”

I’m not going to go into whether this is commentary for biphobia or if this actual biphobia framed as comedy because I’ve never watched this show at all, but the point I’m trying to make is that this is our life. This is what our identity is reduced to. This is what straight people think of us. This is heteronormativity, that this guy is strange and abnormal and not worthy of dating her because he is not straight, he is bi and therefore “ew” he also likes guys. If the main character were to stand up to her friends, tell them that she will continue to date this guy because she likes him (and not just because he’s a good kisser, because that’s also pretty gross and fetishizing) - that is not heteronormative and actually fights for bisexual representation.

When we go to fandom for escape, to explore our sexuality, to tell our stories, we are met with the same “You can’t ship m/f because that makes it straight!” Trust me. We know what that is really being said here. It’s the same biphobic lenses straight people use, just a different frame. “You can’t ship m/f because it looks straight therefore it isn’t valid!”

It goes the other way, too. I very recently had to block someone who was using my Allurance art to showcase Lance’s “straightness”. DO NOT DO THIS. I headcanon Lance as bisexual with a different gender preference just like I am. In my fics and headcanons, he has been given a lot of nuances that reflect my own upbringing and experiences. Even when I ship him with Allura, he is still bisexual. Being shipped with a different gender does not change that. So seeing my art with that context on a blog steeped in biphobia was one of the most insulting things that has ever happened to me in fandom.

Bisexuality is an identity. I was bisexual before I was married, and I’m still bisexual even during the fact. That will never change, no matter who I am with at the time. I am a bisexual woman married to a man and I. Am. Still. Valid. And if you can’t accept that, if you can’t support bisexuals in different gender relationships because they look straight, then you are not an ally.  I’m not saying this to be “mean” or paint you as some kind of awful person. Not at all. You are just simply not an ally. Being an ally doesn’t mean you get to pick and choose what makes you personally comfortable to support. You either support it all or none of it. Point blank. That’s how it is.

Do you want to fight against heteronormativity?

Normalizing non-straight different gender relationships in healthy ways is how you fight against heteronormativity.

Not by attacking shippers for their ships that look straight, especially shippers who do identify as LGBTAQ+ and have their m/f ships reflect their experiences.

Thank you for your time.

And that’s a wrap!

So what started as a pick-me-up for myself ended up becoming this awesome Tumblr wide kitten drawing event. Over the last three days I was just shy of re-blogging 100 different types of cat artwork. All of it in the name of spreading some positive feelings to anyone that might need it during this moment of tension. That is such an amazing thing. Thank you so very much to anyone that was kind enough to participate and patient enough to sift through the waves of cat drawings. You’re all fantastic.

Although Kitten Day is over, please continue to create and share art. You never know when something you make might brighten someone’s day or even just your own. Thank you again everyone and good luck.

❤  H

- If I missed your drawing don’t fret! Any drawings that might have slipped through my fingers I’d still love to share on my submissions blog here. :)

Reblog if You are a safe blog for anyone worried and panicking over The Election.

I haven’t seen any post about this so I’ll just say it.

If you are panicking about what is happening right now with the election, I will no longer be reblogging anything about the results except for the reminders to vote.

From now on, I my blog will be a safe zone for anyone who needs to talk or something to distract them.

Cleaning Candle Holders

Cleaning candle holders is probably one of my least favorite things to do, but recently I’ve started collecting left over wax to use in other projects (a post for a much later day) and I was entrusted with a few extra candle holders to clean so what better use of chore than to make a blog post about how I get it done.

There are A LOT of ways to clean candles. This is just the way that I like doing it and I prefer to do things in batches anyways because I’m all about saving some time.

-SUPPLIES-

  • candle holders that need cleaning
  • a large pot or bowl
  • a knife (or something you can poke wax out with)
  • paper towel/something to wipe the candle holders down with
  • hot water (I boiled my water in my tea kettle and poured it into my bowl)

-INSTRUCTIONS-

  1. Use a knife to cut slashes into the wax still in the candle holder
  2. Place candle holders in a large pot and pour hot water into candle holders and around them. Leave sitting for about 15 minutes.
  3. Leftover wax will either float to the top or be soft and cool enough to pull out with a knife
  4. You can either soak them in a fresh batch of warm water or you can wipe off the excess wax with a paper towel (I used the paper bags we save from last minute store runs)
  5. You can set aside the wax for a future project or toss it!

THE END.  (jkjkjkjk)

((Hey guys! This comic is going to be end of content from this blog for a while. I wanted to leave you with something nice before going on hiatus, as well as let you know that you’ll see Jotaro again on my new daily/bd blog;

dailyformer-delinquent

I lost my spark, or motivation I guess? There’s a bunch of unanswered requests and asks in the box here gathering dust but its just making me feel anxious rather than excited like it used to. I need a break! I still love Jotakak but I’m really excited to focus on just Jotaro, and interact more with other daily/bd blogs and participate more readily in events. I hope I can see your support there as well in the future. Thank you all so much, your love and support means so much to me.))
