Esther deserves respect

I’m actually heartbroken about behaviour and attitudes of some people in the fandom. Matthew and Esther are real people, with real lives and real feelings. They aren’t on a TV show, they exist in real life, so the thought that anyone was giving Matt and Esther hate over an Instagram post really really pisses me off. Nobody has the right to post hateful comments about anyone just because they feel like it or are jealous. Over the weekend Matt and Esther were more than indulgent with fans who essentially stalked them for three days. By the last day you could see his face in pictures like he was not enjoying it but he is so kind and couldn’t say no. Now Esther also has to deal with all this attention on what is like her holiday and she does it with a smile on her face. So what the fuck makes people think they can just send her whatever hate they want just because they are hiding behind a computer screen to do it. It makes me sick tbh, she didn’t ask for any of this and i wouldn’t blame Matt if he wanted to stop posting on social media or even interacting with fans. Because he’d have every right to. People are interfering and messing around in their personal lives and that is so far beyond OK and acceptable. I am so tired of this shit happening in this fandom. And it completely takes away from the majority of us who love and respect the whole cast and their SO. I’m just so done and sad and ashamed right now.

She was so much closer than he’d realized, their faces inches apart, her expression wide and hesitant and vulnerable.

“My Lady,” he whispered. He was helpless in the ocean of blue that was her eyes; whatever had seemed so awful also seemed very far away. Nothing was dark or brutal or hopeless when they were this close, and he wasn’t the only one moving closer.

My vacations are oveerr so now It will take me more time to be able to post any finished pics, sadly D:. I have to paint a lot of new pieces for a college project ´v` BUT I will still have tons of doodles.

Hi! New around here... May I ask what do you like about Madancy? Mads sure seems to fancy Mr. Dancy, Hugh.. not so much )=

My dear sweet baby fannibal, I need to stop you right there.

Since you say you’re new, I’ll help you out.

“Well, it came about because one of the things that was very important was that Will Graham and Hannibal Lecter have a likeability, not only on screen but with each other. The fact that Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelsen are very good friends in real life cinched the deal, in my mind. That was important because I knew it was going to translate to screen. We wanted the audience to like these two men liking each other.” — Bryan Fuller on how he ended up casting Mads Mikkelsen (x)

“Hugh Dancy was the first actor cast and that made the project all that more appetizing for Mads Mikkelsen, who knew Hugh and worked with him in the past and rightfully adored him.— Bryan Fuller (x)”

“Me and Hugh (Dancy) were two of the knights (in King Arthur). So we were sitting for half a year on horseback and we became friends way back then. It’s just been a gift. We’re doing a show like this where you’re working so close together. It’s nice to be comfortable with each other, and that was just a gift that it turned out to be me and Hugh”— Mads Mikkelsen

“Mads is a remarkable combination of things. He’s more than capable of fighting for what he wants. He’s amazing.”— Hugh Dancy

“Well obviously what I’m going to miss is just sitting down in a chair and having chit-chats with Hugh Dancy.” — Mads Mikkelsen on Hannibal S3 (x)

“It’s great. The very first time we sat down, talked about the show, Mads came up at the conversation. I worked with Mads nine years ago now on ‘King Arthur’. Completely different. Could not be more different. But during that period I got to know him and really like him. As a man as an actor. And had followed his career ever since then. I knew it was going to be great. That relationship is so complicated and interesting. It has to be believable. That’s one of the highlights of the show for me.” — Hugh Dancy

“So, spending that much time with a fellow actor, as I knew I would do with Hugh, it was just a fantastic gift that we knew each other. We are not only in the room, but to a degree, we have to be emotionally naked in certain situations.” — Mads Mikkelsen spoke about friendship with Hugh and cast (x)

(Mads Mikkelsen from Red Dragon Con, post)

(Hugh Dancy, The Path interview, post)

He’s worked with the actor Hugh Dancy previously and agrees that such a genuine friendship lends something special to their on screen relationship. “It was a great gift for both of us, that we were able to spend some much time together on the show. We were kind of in a boat of insecurity from the beginning, but it was nice to have a friend there, if you go down or you stay up. To be able to be comfortable with someone in a room, day in, day out of filming, 12 hours a day, was an extreme gift for both of us. We found a way of working together really fast. Hopefully I’ll get to spend time with him during the third season as well, but if not I’ll just have to go drink some beers with him!” — Mads Mikkelsen (x)

“I would say an actor like Mads, but there aren’t any, there’s just Mads.” — Hugh Dancy during the SAG Foundation interview (x).

And finally:

“Collaboration with Mads, who I love, who’s a wonderful actor and incredible partner in that respect “ — Hugh Dancy on what the show means to him

Hugh has become one of my very, very, very good friends. We knew each other from before, but it’s been so intense to spend three seasons together. I was there when he had his first little baby. It’s been a fantastic journey. We were just very, very lucky that we ended up with each other. Imagine if we had ended up with someone we didn’t like.” — Mads Mikkelsen (post)

Mads Mikkelsen and Hugh Dancy are friends. I’m not sure where you got the impression that they aren’t or that one dislikes the other.

Mads likes Hugh.

Hugh likes Mads.

They’re friends.

And their amazing chemistry and friendship (and various aesthetic reasons) is why I ship the fleet of ships that belong to Hugh and Mads and their characters.

So, after all of this, if you’re interested in some more Mads and Hugh liking each other and goofing around together goodies, check out my tag ‘danish crumpet’.

my biggest advice to writers who are struggling with writing (whether it doesn’t come out right or if you’ve hit a wall) is to read. like i’m serious, reading will  remind you of how much you love words. Read fanfiction, your favorite book, a poem, a short story, anything. just remember to read. It keeps the fire alive.

This is so incredibly powerful and all my followers (especially you high schoolers heading to college soon) should see it.

Life is not a series of selection menus; it is an ongoing journey with ups and downs and roundabouts that seem impossible to merge out of. You may find yourself so busy chasing happiness that you miss a real opportunity. You may achieve your goals only to find that it wasn’t at all what you’d hoped. You may realize that you don’t really KNOW what your goals are at all.

And that’s ok. In fact, that’s more than ok: that’s life.

We tend to look at (and especially look back on) our lives like highlight reels or resumes: a series of ‘notable’ points with blank space between them. But life isn’t like that. Your life can’t be summed up by the memories on your Facebook feed. Life is a second-to-second adventure that is equal parts struggle, confusion, and hard work.

And sometimes–just sometimes–it’s absolutely spectacular.

And it’s ok to remember those spectacular moments fondly. But just make sure you never forget that each and every one of them had chunks of the struggle/confusion/hard work mix in between. So if you find yourself in one of those now, don’t lose hope. Don’t give up. If I can convey one thing to my followers it’s this:

Nothing lasts forever. No matter how awful what you’re going through is, it WILL pass. Tomorrow the sun WILL rise. Whatever you’re going through now WILL fade. If you’re in a bad situation, educate yourself about it and what steps you can take; your situation will eventually change. If you’re confused about what you want, find what you LIKE and throw yourself into it; you’ll eventually feel a pull. If your own self is what’s somehow betraying you, HOLD. ON. Even the severest of setbacks have fluctuations. Wait for your moment, and claim victory.

Even happiness is transient; and that may seem like something sad and awful.

It’s not. The truth is so much of what we call ‘happiness’ is found in the pursuit of it. We panic when we feel it slipping from our grasp, but don’t worry: it’s just giving us the chance to chase it again; it does us the favor of continuing the game of tag before we ourselves even realize we’ve stopped playing.

Your life will be full of times–sometimes long times–that are frustrating, and make no sense, or are unjust, or unfair, or infuriating, or just plain hard. Worst of all, some of you may have to face those things alone; and I’m sorry for that. I’m so deeply, deeply sorry.

But.

Even the darkest clouds eventually give way. Have faith in the never-still, ever-changing nature of life, and hold tight, baby. Because sooner or later, the sun breaks through all the grey and it makes everything that came before worth it.

Sooner or later, there’s going to come a moment where you truly shine.

Be ready.

The white road

I am 24 when my doctor tells me that I was abused. She doesn’t tell me what happened to me, or plant any memories that weren’t already there. She takes what I have told her and she puts it all inside those six letters, that one word.

Before she takes my memories and gives me that word, I tell her that I have made the appointment because I want to know why I can’t stand being touched. I tell her that I’m 24 and I’m sick of flinching when shop assistants hand me my change, just in case their fingers brush against my palm and there is that fire again, the one that rushes up from my bone to the membrane of my skin any time it comes into contact that I wasn’t expecting. I tell her that I have been trying to do this properly, from dating to everything else, and it’s like I’m blocked. It’s like I’m missing a piece of myself that makes me an adult, or perhaps even a human, and I don’t know where it’s gone.
