i just miss harry potter

Just say yes 🥂

“Fancy meeting you here.” Harry watched amusedly as Malfoy whirled around in surprise and almost dropped his champagne flute.

“Potter.” He sounded breathless, caught off guard. “I thought you were in Egypt on some mission.”

Harry cocked his head to one side and gave Malfoy a quizzical glance.

“I see you’ve been keeping tabs on me.”

“That’s not-” Malfoy’s cheeks turned rosy as he quickly looked away. “Your name is always all over the paper.”

“This was a secret mission,” Harry replied, trying not to snicker.

“Yeah, well… It’s- it’s hard to escape you. People talk about you everywhere. Everywhere!”

“Sure,” Harry said, taking a sip of champagne.

“Auror Potter! Auror Potter!” A small, middle-aged man behind Malfoy began waving frantically at Harry, almost jumping up and down in his excitement.

“Oh no,” Harry muttered. Malfoy took a look over his shoulder and rolled his eyes.

“Auror Potter! We didn’t expect you to be back so soon,” the middle-aged man said, clasping one of Harry’s hands and shaking it vigorously.

“Mister Franklin,” Harry said, barely able to hide his annoyance.

“You were on a mission I presume? Was it undercover? Did it go well?”

Harry sighed and briefly closed his eyes.

“Mister Franklin, a gala is hardly the place for an interview, is it?”

Mister Franklin chuckled and clasped Harry’s hand even tighter.

“You know how it is with us reporters, we never rest.”

“Oh yes, I know,” Harry said. “However, I am currently unavailable for a statement.”

“But Auror Potter-”

“If you will excuse me, Mister Franklin,” Harry interrupted him, freeing his hand from the other man’s grip and placing it on Malfoy’s back. “I have important business to attend to.”

He ignored the incredulous looks Mister Franklin and Malfoy were giving him and pushed through the crowd. Harry noticed how Malfoy’s body twitched under his touch. It made Harry’s stomach flip. He hadn’t planned to be so bold but escaping a reporter from the Daily Prophet always took priority.

He hoped Mister Franklin wasn’t following them. But even if he left them alone, almost every other person in the room was sure to assault Harry sooner or later. But he couldn’t leave yet. He had promised Kingsley he’d stay at least two hours. And now, after bumping into Malfoy, he had another reason to stay.

When Harry spotted the double doors leading to one of the balconies, he let out a sigh of relief. That could work. He gently pushed Malfoy outside, who was completely flustered at this point.

“What do you think you’re doing?” he snapped, slapping Harry’s hand away and smoothing down his robes.

“What? I really didn’t want to talk to that reporter,” Harry said shrugging.

“But why did you drag me along with you?” Malfoy studied him suspiciously and Harry noticed how he was clutching his champagne flute.

“I wanted to keep talking to you,” Harry said, surprised Malfoy had to ask.

“And what gave you the impression I wanted to keep talking to you?”

“Oh, I’m sorry,” Harry said, knitting his eyebrows together. “Feel free to go. It wasn’t my intention to bring you out here against your will.”

Malfoy narrowed his eyes. After a moment, he turned and walked to the edge of the balcony, resting his elbows against the railing.

It took Harry a moment to realise Malfoy wasn’t leaving after all. He was waiting for Harry to join him. Harry made sure the goofy smile had somewhat vanished before he stepped up beside Malfoy, mimicking his pose, and looked out to the garden below.

“It’s a little bit like Romeo and Juliet, isn’t it?” Harry said, relishing the sudden quietness around them.

Malfoy let out a snort and Harry was pretty sure he was rolling his eyes.

“For that you’d have to be standing down there, you knobhead.”

Harry blinked.

“I didn’t mean… I just meant the setting reminds me of-” He raised an eyebrow. “Are you saying you’d want me to be standing down there, serenading you?”

“Don’t be ridiculous,” Malfoy muttered. But Harry had the impression his cheeks were getting pinker by the second. “Besides, Romeo didn’t serenade Juliet.”

“He didn’t? Huh. I thought he did,” Harry said frowning. “Well that’s good I guess. I’m rubbish at singing.”

There was a long silence after that and Harry wondered what Malfoy was thinking about. He heard him take a deep breath before he finally spoke again.

“I guess we are a bit like Romeo and Juliet.”

Harry looked at him in astonishment.

“What do you mean?”

“Well, our families weren’t exactly enemies but I have often wondered what would have happened if my father hadn’t- if it weren’t for my father…maybe it wouldn’t have been impossible. Or forbidden.”

“Forbidden,” Harry repeated dumbstruck. “You mean to say…”

“I’m not saying anything,” Malfoy said quickly, clamping his mouth shut.

“I think you just did,” Harry insisted, giving the other man a toothy grin. “I have to admit, when I saw you tonight I didn’t think it would lead up to this.”

Malfoy didn’t reply and just stared at the fountain in the middle of the garden below them.

“It’s not too late, you know,” Harry said quietly. “We could still… well, how about we start with dinner?”

“Dinner?” Malfoy sounded skeptical. When he gulped down the rest of his champagne, Harry couldn’t contain a snicker.

“Dinner.” He turned to Malfoy and bit his lip. “All you have to do is say yes.”

When Malfoy didn’t say anything, Harry tentatively moved his hand down the railing and placed it on the other man’s.

“Just say yes.”

Harry watched as the corner’s of Malfoy’s mouth twitched and his body gave a little shiver.

“It’s that easy?”

“Yes,” Harry said. Malfoy cleared his throat and kept his eyes on the garden while his lips stretched into a smile.

“Is that a yes?” Harry asked. Malfoy turned his head to look at him, his eyes shining brightly.

“Yes, you twit! It’s a yes.”

Character: Prince Adam

Prompt: (None)

“Your highness, please!” Cogsworth cried as he attempted to keep up with the Prince who was dashing down the corridors. “I’m sure she’s here somewhere but please slow down!” The old man wheezed as he stopped chasing, hands heavily leaning on his knees as he tried to catch his breath.

“There is no time for that! She could be anywhere!” Prince Adam called to him as he opened every door in the corridor, gazing inside for the sigh of you until he slammed it shut with frustration when realizing you weren’t there.

“Ah! Mes amis!” Lumiere said in his joyous voice as he saunted up to the two of them. “What are we doing?” He whispered as he leaned into another empty guest suite with the prince.

Adam whirled around, grabbing his friend by the shoulders. “You haven’t seen (Y/n) anywhere have you?” He asked desperately.

Lumiere’s brows knitted together as he tried to recall the last time he had seen you. “I’m afraid I cannot recall anytime recently,” He said watching the face of his prince fall, and Lumiere began to worry. “Is she alright? Why are we looking for her?”

Cogsworth managed to pull himself together, dabbing at his wrinkled forehead with a white handkerchief. “His highness cannot find Lady (Y/n) and is beginning to worry.”

Lumiere grinned. “Ah, lovesick for your amor?” He asked with a mischievous laugh. “Fear not! We shall find her together!”

After another hour passed, Prince Adam was beginning to lose his patience and all of his worrying sent his nerves into overdrive. He jumped at every small sound, whirling to see if you had returned, but the worst of it all was the paranoia beginning to cloud his judgement.

What if you had finally gotten tired of his unpredictable temper or maybe you wanted your normal life back?

What if he turned back into a beast because you stopped loving him?

Mrs. Potts’ gentle hand on his shoulder nearly made him shoot five feet into the hair, but seeing the kind expression in the woman’s face made him feel calm.

“I can see your worried, dear,” She said, brushing off his shoulders and giving him her warmest smile. “She’ll turn up eventually, I know it.”

It was nearly dark, and Prince Adam was at an all time high.

He’d pace around his office for several minutes at a time before falling into the tall armchair, he sat there for a second or two before springing back up and returning to his pacing.

“I’ll go make him some tea,” Mrs. Potts said as she looked sadly through the small crack in the door.

Lumiere watched on as well, his expression more solemn. “You don’t really think she left, do you?”

Mrs. Potts turned to face him, a stern expression on her face. “Now you just rattle that thought out of that head right this instant,” She said firmly, placing her hand on her hips. “(Y/n) is a responsible girl, and she loves the prince very dearly, she’ll turn up.”

Yet another dragged past, the tea left on his desk had long grown cold, and Adam’s eyes were glued to the office windows, keeping an eye out for you.

“YOUR HIGHNESS!” Came the hoarse voice of Cogsworth as he burst through the office doors. “Wonderful news!-” His announcement came to a halt as he paused to cough into his handkerchief.

“What is it?” Prince Adam said patiently as he helped the old man into a chair.

“Lady (Y/n) has been spotted at the gates, she’s in the stables now.”

A large smile broke out on Adam’s face as he patted Cogsworth shoulders. “Thank you!” He said quickly before sprinting away.

Prince Adam made it down to the front doors before he saw you being greeted by the other household members. Mrs. Potts was kissing your cheeks as she cried out about how much everyone was worried for you, Chip was tugging on the ends of your riding cloak as he chattered excitedly at you.

“I’m so sorry,” He heard you speak Mrs. Potts as you tried to calm you. “It was never my intention to be gone so long.”

“(Y/n), darling!” Adam called out as he made his way down the marble stairs. “Where have you been? Everyone was so worrie,” He said as calmly as he could as he wrapped his arms around you. “You’re freezing.”

“Oh never mind about that,” You said with a small laugh as you pushed his hands away from you. “I promise I’m fine, I just wanted to stop into the town earlier this morning to get you all something.” You told him, taking small trinkets from a brown bag that was slung across your shoulder.

Mrs. Potts gasped as you handed her a new blue and white porcelain teapot. “Oh my goodness!” She said as she observed the intricate floral pattern.

You gave Chip a small wooden box filled with chess peices, which he showed his mother with great vigor. “Look what (Y/n) got me!” He said as he held up the Queen.

“What do you say, Chip?” She asked as she ran her hand through his hair.

“Thank you, Miss (Y/n)!” He chirped before running off into the castle.

Mrs. Potts gave you one last kiss, exclaiming her gratitude and how she would find you an even better gift.

“What’s the occasion, dear?” Prince Adam as he wrapped his arms around you again, still worried about your low temperature.

You shrugged your shoulders and gave him a guilty smile. “Well it’s nearly Christmas time, and I wanted to give everyone special gifts early.”

Prince Adam lifted your hands to his lips as he kissed them tenderly. “I was very worried about you,” He whispered softly as looked into your eyes. “You just disappeared without a trace.”

You looked at him guiltily. “I am sorry I didn’t tell you, but I wanted it to be a surprise and I had the feeling if I would have said something you would have refused to let me go alone.”

He could only chuckle at how well you knew him, and he nuzzled himself closer to you. “I was merely only worried you wouldn’t return, but a part of me always knew you would come back.”

You smiled and gave him a small peck on the lips before removing yourself from his grasp. “I still have your gift,” You said brightly as you carefully took out a bundle of wrapping paper and set it in his hands. “I had to be especially careful with that one.”

Prince Adam looked down at it with a small smile as he pulled back the paper, opening it to reveal a large and ornate snow globe of a carousel scene.

“I tried to find the prettiest one I could,” You said as the two of you looks down at it. “I know you probably have lots far more grand but I still thought you would like it.”

“I love it,” Adam said happily as he placed a lingering kiss on your temple. “It’ll sit front and center on my desk.” He said proudly.

You took it back from him to he didn’t have to worry about carrying it, wrapping it up again and going on a small tangent about how lovely town was and all the people you saw.

Prince Adam merely looked at you with a fond smile and he mentally wrote down all of your expressions, simply being happy that you had returned to the castle safely.

“And then what happened?” He asked curiously as he linked his arm with yours and began to walk you up the stairs, planning to spend the next several hours just being in your presence.

Draco "Disaster Cook” Malfoy

(Day 6 of 30 day OTP challenge - Making fun of one another)

Harry was on the verge of tears. Tears of laughter, that is. Draco had managed to balls up yet another unbelievably easy recipe, if Harry could even call it that. So, Draco had messed up in the kitchen yet again and even though Harry had promised not to laugh, he just couldn’t help it. He had sincerely thought that there was no way Draco could possibly mess up boiling spaghetti but he had managed it spectacularly.

The spaghetti had caught fire in mere seconds after being put on the hob, and Draco, in his panic, had immediately screamed for Harry at the top of his lungs. And, of course, had removed himself a safe several steps away from the burning pasta.

And Harry, oh, he was too busy laughing to do anything about it. So the pasta was still burning. Draco was starting to calm down from his initial panic and instead was growing more and more irritated by the second. By the time Harry was gasping for air and supporting his body against the door frame, Draco was glaring daggers at him. Harry didn’t seem to notice that at all.

“Oh my-” he gasped for air. “Merlin! You, ha ha-” he tried speaking but the bouts of laughter were making it hard to do so. “Oh haha, oh, Draco, you, haha, the pasta is burning! I cant, haha, can’t believe that!” he wiped tears from his eyes.

Draco was just about ready to throttle him but Harry was blissfully unaware.

“Well, you are pretty shite at potions so you shouldn’t be laughing so much! Mistakes happen!“ Draco snapped. “Besides, the lack of proper instructions in those cooking manuals is unacceptable! What’s your excuse with potions, huh?!?”

Harry somehow managed to say through all the laughter. “Potions are hard. Boiling pasta is not!” He finally managed to stop laughing long enough to give Draco a fond but amused smile. He noticed Draco deflating a bit.

“Well, I guess since I’m so bad at cooking, you’ll just have to do it instead.” Draco said matter-of-factly, nose slightly stuck in the air in a manner that Harry used to find very annoying but had started to fins incredibly endearing lately. Draco added with a smirk a moment later. “I want something fancy and difficult to make for dinner.”

Harry laughed. “Sure, you’re washing the dishes tho!”

“Fine, you’re terrible at it anyway, you don’t even know the charms for it.”

“At least I haven’t set them on fire ye-” Harry had to duck he Stinging hex that Draco sent his way.

I don’t have many notes today, apart from my James notes from earlier, and the following observations:

-When the boys are on top of the train, the lights in the strip across the back of the stage illuminate to follow the visible width of the train. Basically, when you can see the whole length of the train, the whole strip of lights is lit up, and when you can only see the end of the train, only the centre of the strip is lit up.

-James L did the back drumming on the second hug as well as the first (when Albus hugs Scorpius, Scorpius pats Albus’s back with his hands). Also, Scorpius made the most delighted noise when that hug happened.

-I loved Draco’s office today. It was really simple, just the two of them standing and looking at each other, but there was so much strength and determination in the two of them just facing each other and talking. Lovely.

-The end of the Owlery scene was incredible. Delphi grabbed Scorpius’s hand at one point, and held onto it while he was beginning to distrust her, presumably to stop him going for his wand. And Albus was just glaring at Scorpius the whole time. It was one of Sam’s best moments of the whole day.

-The scene in Harry’s office was devastating. Jamie broke so much earlier on than he has been recently, even before the second bit of Dumbledore’s speech. And Draco had a really long pause before saying that the day Scorpius was born was the happiest day of both his and Astoria’s lives. Also, he had to stop to wipe his eyes and gather himself together before he even reached ‘Astoria always knew she wasn’t destined for old age’. I’ve never seen him get so emotional so early on. It rivalled the very best Harry’s office scene I’ve ever seen I think. Both Harry and Draco spurring each other on to greater heights of emotion.

-In Godric’s Hollow, when Scorpius did his 'help, help, help!’ routine, instead of going across the stage on his knees, miming asking Harry for help, he took Albus’s face in both his hands and looked into Albus’s eyes, and did the 'help!’ bits to him. Albus was slightly bemused. (And James L told us at stage door that she wished she’d had that idea sooner, so she totally knows what she’s doing to use all.)

-After the battle, when Delphi was falling to the ground, the last thing I saw before the lights dimmed apart from the spotlight on Delphi, was Draco reaching out to Scorpius to protect him and check he was alright. <3

-The penultimate scene was really something. Scorbus shippers look away now. So basically Rose arrived and kind of planted herself in the middle of the stage, and she beckoned to Scorpius and he just went to her like he couldn’t help it. Then she adjusted his robes for him, and grabbed him by the jumper and reeled him in when she said 'okay, Scorpion King’, and it actually looked like she was going to kiss him. But at the last minute she let go and he went sprawling back and ended up in a grinning, dazed heap at the bottom of the stairs. He was delighted. And if anything could ever make me ship Scorose it was that. Such an electric moment.

-Pro-tip: when you next see the show, don’t think about how it’s the last/nearly the last time you’ll see Sam and Jamie do the last scene. I made that mistake and ended up crying. It’s just a bad idea.

I survived yesterday evening and I am actually looking forward to starting my new job next week 🙈
In more bookish news: I’m not really making huge progress when it comes to reading The Catcher in the Rye 🤔 It’s not bad, but everytime I think back on what happened in the last chapter I read before sleeping, I have a hard time actually remembering it 🙈 Anyway, I still like it and it’s a small book, so I think I might finish it either tomorrow or Monday 🙌🏼
I really hope I’ll finish my September TBR early so I can dive back into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter 🙈 I already miss Hogwarts, although I just finished my reread of The Chamber of Secrets last Monday 🙊

3, 15, and 40 (for your worst nightmare ;))

3. is there a trope you wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole?

yeah dd/ll or whatever it’s called where like one of them acts like a little kid? that shit freaks me out

15. If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

maybe awm? just because it’s in the harry potter world and i MISS harry potter, you know? orrrr possibly misplaced just because i think it’d be really cool to see how that would play out, and how the actors would have to be really skilled to play like, two different sets of people with their personalities slightly altered

40. Write an alternative ending to [insert fic title] (or just the summary of one).

Phil was sat across from him on his bed, one of Dan’s booked propped open in front of him, when he said it.

“Phil,” Dan prompted. Phil looked up at him, his eyebrows raised slightly in question. Dan cleared his throat. “I love you.”

For a second, there was nothing.

And then Phil grinned. He scooted closer on the bed and pushed Dan down on it, covering his body with his own and fervently kissing his neck.

“I love you too,” he murmured, and Dan giggled, pulling him up to kiss him on the mouth instead. He could remember all those years ago, how Phil had kept him up in the night, the darkness of his room thick and frightening. He could remember Phil telling him that he was his worst nightmare. He could remember the resulting panic, the fear that had stuck with him for years.

But that was a lie. Maybe Phil had been his worst nightmare once–a person only he could see, lurking around corners and under his bed. But now he was the complete opposite, something Dan could only have hoped to dream of.

now u can stop hating me forever yay! a happy ending!! it changes from real to new ending after “and then phil grinned”

(send me questions from here!)

Just something I noticed

If Arithmancy is just the magical version of Mathematics (and it’s optional), and Potions is the magical form of Chemistry (and its mandatory), then do Hogwarts not have a class studying magical forms of English Literature?

They might do some Shakespeare in Muggle Studies, but, then again, Muggle Studies is an optional class.

Wizards basically have to do Chemistry, but not Mathematics or English Literature unless they want to. Very weird curriculum layout.

Or am I just missing something?
