i just love the fact that the video shows their own charms like

petition for a modern Sherlock Holmes take in which:

  • Holmes is explicitly aroace.
  • whatever sexuality Watson is, either a.) he and Holmes are in a relationship, which is made very clear and definite, or b.) they’re clearly not and they get rightfully annoyed at people assuming/insisting that they are.
  • if there are any gay jokes they had better be up to Captain Holt standards.
  • if Watson has an SO that’s not Holmes they get to be a significant character in their own right rather than a walking side joke.
  • re: that post about the way cocaine usage was viewed in Victorian England, if Holmes has a substance abuse problem it’s not a direct transfer of what he used in the original stories but a modern translation of that. which is to say, I want to see Holmes pouring 5-hour-energy into his fifth cup of coffee while Watson beats his head against the wall.
  • if Holmes has a mental illness it’s recognized and portrayed as an actual realistic mental illness. it is neither there to make him Edgy nor to give him license to be a jackass.
  • Holmes can totally be a jackass but it’s portrayed as him, in fact, being a jackass, and he isn’t given free pass for it just because he’s Very Smart.
  • Holmes alternates, seemingly at random, between being charming and incredibly socially adept, and having no social skills whatsoever.
  • Holmes disguises himself all the time, often for no real reason. sometimes these disguises are exquisite and sometimes they’re utterly terrible and unconvincing, but Holmes remains convinced that they’re all great.
  • Watson definitely threatens to hit someone with a chair at some point.
  • Irene Adler has a husband that she genuinely loves and does not get killed off or otherwise abandoned in the course of her story arc.
  • there is 0% sexual tension between Irene Adler and Holmes. Holmes loses the case because he writes her off as being inferior to him and consequently underestimates her. he learns from this mistake. or at the very least, Watson constantly reminds him of it.
  • anything that was a factual error or case of science-marches-on in the original stories is brought up as a genuine mistake made by Holmes, as part of his whole I-don’t-need-to-know-things-that-aren’t-relevant-to-me shtick. (”he brought the snake here by whistling for it!” “snakes are deaf Holmes” “what”)
  • there’s no ominous buildup to Moriarty appearing. he literally just shows up completely out of nowhere just like he does in the original story. Holmes insists he’s been behind everything; everyone else is very confused.
  • either Holmes, Watson, or both carry brass knuckles.
  • poor long-suffering Watson has to constantly point out to Holmes that Baritsu is Not A Thing, Holmes, you just made that up okay.
  • despite being otherwise impeccably dressed, Holmes has a different stupid hat in each episode. none of them are a deerstalker though.
  • modern versions of other detectives inspired by Holmes (Poirot, Nero Wolfe, etc) occasionally wander into the stories, but their appearances are never called attention to. they’re just there.
  • at least one reference to The Great Mouse Detective is made.
  • Holmes gets really into video games when he’s bored between cases. one story has a background plot of him trying to figure out an adventure game puzzle. he’s infuriated when he finally finds the (ridiculous) solution.
  • Holmes has a fidget cube.
gaming antics [m]

summary: taeyong has been too distracted by his games lately so you decide to snap him out of it.

pairing: gamer!taeyong & reader insert

includes: smut (fingering, penetration, facial, oral)

note: Im back! :’) With a new fic about my babe, Taeyong. Haha. I hope you guys like it!

Taeyong had always been an avid gamer.

He would spend hours on end smashing his thumbs all over the game controller while spitting curses to his frustrated friends through a small headset. Those hours sometimes ran into an entire day, and maybe he skipped out on catching a few winks of sleep—to put it short, he was in love with gaming. Since your friendship began with Taeyong you had known how much of a hardcore gamer he was—gaming was how the two of you bonded, so his love for the hobby never really bothered you to begin with.

Not until you started to date him a couple of months ago. He attempted to change his habits and shape himself into a decent boyfriend who could go on multiple dates with you whether they are small breakfast meetups or quick coffee runs. Those lasted for a good while, but he reverted to his original self soon afterwards, almost like the lively dates with you are not as fun as the silly shooter games he spends his life on. He reverted back to the game invested Taeyong—the one that spends more time staring at a flashing screen, furiously pressing on the loose buttons of his controler, than looking at his girlfriend.

You always attempted to talk to him while he took those short breaks. Usually he spent a good five to ten minutes getting water or catching a breath of fresh air outside, but he typically shrugged you off. This time you were going to take a different approach—a very distracting approach.

Why I’m Doing The Eddsworld Fan Movie

Hey, Eddheads. Marc here.

A common question that I get a lot is “The fanbase is so cringe-worthy now, so why are you still making the Eddsworld Fan Movie? Don’t you have to put up with a lot of those people?” And although there’s been a number of fans pestering us about which characters they want to see and when the movie is coming out, I never really thought that much about it.

For those of you reading this on someone else’s blog who has no idea what the Eddsworld Fan Movie is, it’s basically a passion project of mine that I started when I was a sophomore in high school four years ago. I was a big Eddsworld fan (and still am to this day), the fans who were still around back then were so nice and so generous, and I wanted to give something back to everyone who watched it and worked on it. Of course, the best love letter to the Eddsworld community I can think of was a full-length fan movie.

That’s why I started doing it. Because I loved the show, I loved the fans, and I wanted to express my love in the biggest possible way. Now, four years later, almost all those people that were fans of the show when I started working on the movie have moved on, and the fanbase currently consists of much younger people who might’ve been introduced to the series through later Legacy episodes like Saloonatics or The End.

While not all of the newer fans are bad (in fact, I’ve even made friends with a good chunk of them), some of these people have displayed certain types of behavior that Edd would not approve of. They haven’t personally affected me at all, but I know that there’s a number of people out there who just want to complain about everything we do and just want to see the movie come out.

So going back to an important detail I mentioned before, when I started working on the movie, the Eddsworld fandom was in a much different place. Now most people outside of Eddsworld only recognize it for strange AUs and shipping characters that never even liked each other in the actual show, and if a fandom that you’ve been a part of for so long starts to get made fun of for that even if not every single person in said fandom is guilty of those things, it becomes a lot less fun to be a part of.

But Eddsworld itself has left such a positive impact on me. If I didn’t start watching it, I wouldn’t have been as creatively motivated as I am today. If I didn’t start drawing comics, I wouldn’t have been able to replicate Edd’s style and help keep it alive. If I didn’t start working on the movie, I wouldn’t have gotten to actually work on the show and make comics for them officially (I did comics 191, 192, 199, and 200; and my fellow Fan Movie co-producer Billy and I animated scenes for The End).

I owe a lot of myself to Edd Gould. He made cartoons from his bedroom that people loved, and he worked so hard to make them as enjoyable as possible because he knew that people loved them, even when he was going through his second round of cancer. Edd found happiness and success from just making videos with his friends, and they were funny, and clever, and charming, and timeless, and hugely inspirational.

I’m extremely grateful to Tom Ridgewell and Eddie Bowley for allowing us to contribute to the show, and I’m humbled that they chose us to represent Edd’s work in The End, but it was because of Edd that I decided to get into a creative medium like this. It was because of Edd that I’m now coming up with my own original ideas for shows and movies and games and plays and all that stuff. It was because of Edd that I wanted to make a movie based on his work. And I made so many great friends because of it, all of them loving the show just as much as me.

We all have the same passion and drive to get this movie done, as much as Edd did when it came to his videos. And despite all the drama and cringeworthy stuff that people make fun of Eddheads for now, that is why I’m still working on the Eddsworld Fan Movie. Because of all the exciting opportunities that have opened up for me, all the clever and talented people I’ve been fortunate enough to work with over the years, all the love and support that have come our way, and how I owe a lot of it to the man whose world I’ve been tickled to visit.

Although he’s sadly no longer with us, we’ve all worked so hard to keep his spirit alive and well through his animation, his writing style, and his perserverence. We’ve been overwhelmed by the anticipation and the excitement that’s been target to us concerning the Fan Movie. And while I’m grateful for all the essays and paragraphs that fans write telling us how we’ve inspired them, working on the Eddsworld Fan Movie is really worth it just to be told four simple but impactful little words:

“Edd would be proud.”

Soulmate The8

Part of the Seventeen Soulmate Series

It was funny, really, that no one could ever truly know what was going on in someone else’s head. Except one time- for one moment. The first thought your soulmate would ever have when they saw you would be written in bold letters across your arm.

Some people had some pretty embarrassing words. They were sweet, really, when you considered the sentiment, but they were pretty awful for the young kids who had to walk around with them. Your close friend had, spelled in huge letters across her arm, “holy fucking shit!”

Your own words were in letters that, at first, everyone around you had not understood. Luckily, all hospitals had a language expert somewhere on their staff who would either translate unknown marks on the arms of newborns or at least inform the parents what language it was so that they could get it translated themselves if they wanted to. Your local specialist had gazed in amazement at your mark and told your family it was a mix of languages. First Korean, then Mandarin. It was also… unusually long. A stream of thought.

They were surprised. But it was assumed that your soulmate must be bilingual. And since a very young age, determined when it came to the idea of your soulmate, you set off on the tough road of trying to learn both.

Sometimes, Jungkook really hates his eyes.

Jimin knows that when his irises turn a deep red, resembling that of burnt umber, it means all variants of anger– arising when Jungkook loses a round of Mario Kart that strikes a low and petty blow to his ego as a proponent of competition, becomes frustrated when he’s unable to make that absolutely perfect stroke of detail he’s trying to recreate in a painting, and mostly definitely when Jimin keeps borrowing his shampoo without asking for permission and keeps on leaving his belongings all over his living room floor when he comes over to freeload (but of course, Jungkook can never stay mad at him and his angelic character for too long).

There’s aquamarine blue for when he’s feeling all doom and gloom and blue; a dark indigo with a lingering grey shadow when he’s feeling mercurial like the rainy skies; a golden orange with flecks of warm yellow when he’s happy and carefree; a murky green for when he’s feeling sick and tired and a rich brown for when he’s feeling neutral and generally placid about life.

There were many colours that came with different kinds of moods, each to their own individuality that was certainly distinctable. And, well– Jungkook felt relief and joy to know that Jimin was more fascinated with such a phenomenon than skeptical as he eagerly pursued him with questions concerning the malleable colours of his eyes and wanting to know what each meant to the point where Jungkook felt comfortable enough to forgo his sunglasses around him, until one day–

“Hey, Jungkook,” Jimin sits his chin on top of his palms quite endearingly with elbows over his pile of notes, pink cheeks squished while he leans forward with soft blonde locks falling above rounded eyes that blink curiously as he stares right into Jungkook’s soul, “I’ve been wondering about your eyes.”

“Yeah?” Jungkook hums nonchalantly, “About?”

Dramatic Switch

Pairing: Forming Platonic Prinxiety

Prompt:Anxiety & Prince wake up with their clothing swapped, but they can’t change so have to film a video as eachother.

This is a fic for @daymeetsnight for the Sanders Sides fic exchange! I got it done just in time, and it turned out WAY longer than I expected (2935 words), and angstier than planned, but I really hope you like it.

“What the hell?! Give me back my hoodie!”

“How dare you disgrace my royal sash! Hand it over!”

Both were more than happy to comply, but couldn’t seem to get the other’s garments off. This left Virgil in Roman’s royal attire, and Princey as an emo nightmare. They, of course, panicked.

“We are to film a video today, and Thomas will be summoning us any minute!” The royal exclaimed in all his dramatics, “I am a Prince! I cannot possibly allow my subjects to see me looking like I just stepped out of Dead, Goth, &Beyond!”

“Yeah, ‘cause I totally want to look like I just mugged Prince Charming,” Virgil rolled his eyes at the prince as he crossed his arms. “So Sir Creativity, what do we do? I have an image to maintain.”

Roman!Thomas’s voice suddenly echoed through the mind palace.

“Gah!” Roman resisted the call as they started panicking more. “Oh! Um… Oh! Quickly, switch places with me! We will simply act like each other, and no one will know!”

Virgil opened his mouth to point out how stupid he thought this idea was, but as Thomas called again, he groaned and switched places with Roman before popping into Thomas’s living room.

‘He’s lucky I read the scripts to death,’ Virgil thought as he struck Roman’s signature entering pose.

“Hello, common folk! Did you miss me?” The commonly dark trait grinned with a flourish.

“Roman, what took so long?” Thomas whispered.

“My apologies. You see, I was caught up in an epic battle with the Dragon Witch and lost track of time.” Virgil thought up as he pretended to fight some unseen beast.

This seemed to be Princey enough for the others as Logan rolled his eyes, Thomas nodded, and Patton grinned.

“Aw! Way to go Kiddo!” The Dad beamed.

Virgil felt absolutely ridiculous performing the action, but as everyone accepted the lie and continued on with the video, his smile became a little more genuine.

Being part of Thomas, he enjoyed acting just like the others, but if any of them truly knew him, they’d know his passion could rival the very royal he was playing. That’s why he always made Thomas so nervous before a performance. He, more than anyone, understood how much they were all truly capable of, and–while he sometimes insisted with things that there was no point in trying–acting was not one of these things, and he wanted Thomas to truly give nothing but his absolute all, even if it was just an audition. If his presence didn’t cause Thomas anxiety, he’d probably be right there on stage with him and Princey.

Acting also allowed the dark trait to be someone else. He didn’t have to be ‘the embodiment of a dark and stormy night’ as Roman once phrased it. He could be free. So as they continued the video, that’s exactly what he was. Free. He played the part of roman with everything he had. Arguing with Logan, encouraging Thomas, and not so subtly degrading Patton; he didn’t enjoy the last part nearly as much but a role was a role, and for once in his existence, the confidence he gave off was real.

Anxiety loved every second of playing the dramatic, overly confident Prince as he threw out another vague reference with a smirk. Every second that is, until the real Princey popped up to play him, and shoot down ‘his’ idea.

Virgil gave Princey’s sassy retort without missing a beat or the barely concealed look of impressed surprise the royal gave him as he responded. He hid his blush, and continued on as though nothing had happened, but as filming went on, Virgil began to notice Princey acting strange.

Being the anxious trait, part of his job was to analyze everything in an instant, and though Roman played him flawlessly, Virgil still almost broke character to frown. As far as Virgil could tell, none of the others had noticed, but the real Prince looked like he was trying to hide the fact that he was in physical pain even as he rolled his eyes as Anxiety.

‘What’s wrong with him?’ Virge wondered as they continued to play each other so no one would know they were stuck in each other’s clothes.

He started to become actually worried, however, when he noticed Roman’s bangs becoming slowly limper as they dampened with sweat. This was when Anx knew this had to end soon, and used the influence he apparently held as Prince to start trying to get the video to move along faster with more one take shots.

It seemed to work, and in no time, Thomas declared them done and they gave their final words before sinking out one by one so Thomas could start editing, and  everyone dispersed back to their rooms once back in the mind palace.

Roman tried to use this to escape to his room as well, but Virgil had sunk out before him so was waiting for him outside the currently emo royal’s room.

“What’s wrong? You look more like death than I usually do,” Virgil immediately questioned the prince.

Said prince tried to hide a wince at being found out that, of course, didn’t go unnoticed by Virgil, even as the royal smirked. “Whatever are you talking about?”

“One of my roles as Thomas’s Anxiety is to analyze everything to death to prevent Thomas from making mistakes. Everything includes people so Thomas doesn’t make social blunders. The whole video, you looked like you were in physical pain, and half-way through, you started sweating like there was a great strain on you. What. Is. Wrong?” The dark trait asked with punctuation to each word of the original question to show Princey wasn’t avoiding it.

It was at this point Roman knew he lost. “Can we go in my room for this? I don’t want to worry the other two if they hear,” Roman sighed as he went in his room before the other could answer.

This confused Virgil, but he followed Roman into the Broadway meets Disney tornado version of Thomas’s house with a shrug.

“Jeez, you really do have 101 Disney posters don’t you? I was just kidding when I said that, but I can’t believe it was true.” He gave a half-laugh as he sat on the couch.

“Disney is no joking matter!” Princey huffed, back to his usual dramatics now that he was in the safety of his own room. He appeared more at ease almost immediately.

“So what happened between the times we were in the commons to the time you popped up?” Virgil asked bluntly, feeling the ‘entering someone else’s space’ formalities had been met sufficiently enough.

Roman sighed extra dramatically, “Anxi-my apologies- Virgil, what do I represent?”

The question confused the darker trait, but he responded none the less, “Thomas’s ego, romance, love of the theatre, creativity, and his obsession with Disney?”

“What is another name for theatre?” Roman prompted.

“Drama,” Virgil answered without hesitation.

“Exactly! Virgil, I am Thomas’s theatrics. I am the literal embodiment of drama!” he posed. “You on the other hand,” he pointed to Anxiety, “are even less dramatic than Logan.”

“Yeah, but what does that have to do with you being in pain?” Virgil asked, already having an idea, but wanting confirmation.

“Uuuuugh! Being a Drama King is part of my job! It becomes physically painful to not be my fabulous self!” Roman sighed with a hair flip as though it was the most tragic thing on Earth. “It’s not just an attention thing you know? Though I deserve to have all eyes on moi.”

Virgil sat in silence for a moment, mulling over what he just learned. “Why did you suggest we switch then if you knew it would hurt so much?”

Roman raised an eyebrow, “Virgil, have I ever once, in the entire time you have known me, not been dramatic?”

“You had no clue it would hurt.”

“None at all,” the royal confirmed with a wave of his hand. “The closest I have come to feeling that was when I was apologizing to you, but we were all panicking so I figured it was that.”

“I see,” Virgil nodded. He had been about to call Roman a dolt for not knowing something so important but merely hid his own wince, blaming himself slightly now.

“Yes, but like a true actor,” Prince boasted proudly, “I worked through the pain to put on a stunning performance of our very own Boy Glummer that fooled everyone.”

Virge just rolled his eyes, “Please, your eye roll game was weak.”

Roman huffed, about to retort before he smirked instead, “Yes, I can admit that I could use some practice playing a dark prince. Maybe you could give me some pointers. You seemed to be enjoying yourself out there playing me.”

Anx turned scarlet almost immediately, and wished more than anything that he had his foundation back to hide it. “Shut up,” he snapped, “I have no clue what you are talking about.”

“Oh really?” The prince continued to smirk, enjoying the other’s reaction, “Because you could have fooled me you were me.”

Virgil tried hiding in the collar of the royal shirt he was still wearing, wanting his hoodie, “I didn’t want them to find out…”

Roman smiled lightly now, “Virgil, calling Logan ‘My Chemical Reaction’ wasn’t in the script. I’m actually extremely disappointed it hasn’t been before.”

“Improv,” Virge mumbled, trying to sink into the couch now, unable to handle the compliments.

The royal sighed dramatically again as he sat on the couch with the darker, “Virgil, I’m not teasing you now. That was truly amazing. Why did you not tell us you could act?”

“I am part of Thomas, technically we can all act…”

“I highly doubt the glasses duo could act like that. You were completely unrecognizable as Virgil. Why hide such talent?” Roman pushed, truly impressed.

Virgil sighed, “To avoid this,” gesturing between the two of them. “To use theatre terms, your tragic flaw is you physically cannot not be dramatic. Mine is that I cannot handle praise. The fact that your room seems to boost confidence is probably the only reason I am not having a self-deprecating panic attack,” he admitted, hiding in his knees and awaiting the backlash.

Roman frowned, “By jones, that’s horrible!” embracing the other on an instinct to protect the vulnerable. “Patton compliments you all the time! Why did you never say anything?”

“…It does feel how it’s supposed to at first…nice that is…, but later, when I get back to my room, the room and my own brain start picking it apart and putting me back in my place. That’s why I enjoyed the acting. I was someone other than me.”

Princey’s heart broke hearing the revelation, and subconsciously held him closer, “Oh Virgil…what about now? What happened just now?” He asked this, but honestly he was afraid to hear an answer he was sure he already knew.

Virgil looked up at Roman for a second with an expression that confirmed his suspicions as he caught sight of the wetness in his eyes before he looked down again.

“…🎵You think you do the right thing, but incidentally You find the whole world prefer it differently~🎵”

Virgil sang quietly as Roman’s heart slowly sank more and more, “🎵I never wanted to be the bad guy🎵” he finished for the other. “You still don’t trust me.” Roman sighed, honestly hurt, but understanding why.

“I’m trying,” Virgil sighed, “but you spent so long insulting and making fun of me, it’s difficult. That apology was the first honestly nice thing you said to me you know? That’s why the panic set in so fast afterwards because the room was trying to decide if it was a lie or not and it caused an Anxiety Dump. Even now I’m still trying to accept it because my head keeps pointing out that it was scripted. Since it hurt though, I guess now I know it was real.” Another sigh. “When Logan praises me, there’s no anxiety because Lo finds lying an illogical waste of time and only gives his honest opinion. Patton is nice to everyone, so there is some anxiety over whether it’s true, but ultimately he is Morality and lying is wrong. You on the other hand, what do you have to gain from lying to someone like me? Every compliment you’ve ever given me has always been backhanded. Even this conversation started with you trying to tease me! …So yeah, I’m trying to start trusting you, but it’s hard.”

Virgil let all of this out with the confidence of the room acting as his backbone before he returned to sitting silently. As the silence stretched, however, Virgil tried looking up at the prince, but was cut short as Princey gathered him uncomfortably close and hid his face the anxious side’s shoulder. The darker immediately started squirming, of course, uncomfortable and startled. “Hey! What’s the big i-” That’s when he felt it through the thinner fabric of the prince’s shirt that he was wearing. Roman was crying.

“I am so sorry Virgil. I honestly just assumed it was our normal banter. I never thought to consider your side of thi- no, that is no excuse. I am a prince after all. I should have considered the feelings of all of my subjects, and that includes you Virgil. Especially after your video. Good God, I am horrible. I have been making an effort to call you by your proper name since you decided to trust us with it, but I still cannot do something as simple as be nice to you. For the love of Disney, I reacted to our current situation with accusing you of disgracing my sash when in truth, I am irritated that you look better in it than I do! Now I learn what I assumed was harmless and playful banter would have sent you into an attack. Virgil I am so truly sorry. You are amazing, and an amazing actor on top of it. I can promise that with complete sincerity. That performance was astounding, and you should be proud of yourself. Not even the Sherlock and Watson impersonators could tell it wasn’t me, and to assure you I am speaking from my heart with no dramatics, I can literally say that it would indeed kill me to compliment you at this point, so please know that only about half the stuff I have said since the ‘The Dark Side of Disney’ video, and absolutely nothing since your video was ever meant to hurt you. I would clichély ask if you could ever forgive me, but I would not blame you if you never could. I am so sorry Virgil, but know that you are wonderful, and deserve so much better than how you have been treated. You should never need to feel like you need to be anyone but you.”

Virgil sat frozen in absolute shock as he tried to gather his thoughts. Slowly he hugged Roman back and sighed, “Roman, self-deprecating remember? Anything you said, I had already thought a hundred and one times before. I was never actually upset with you. I was mad at myself that you were right. Don’t apologize for nothing. I’ll probably always think like this…, but thank you. I wasn’t trying to blame you at all. It just came out that way. I just wanted you to know why it will be a while before I don’t internally cringe at any praise from you…Can you please stop crying now? I seriously am not worth crying over.” He mumbled awkwardly.

Prince glared at him now, “Virgil Sanders, just stop it,” Roman warned with his inner Patton coming out. “You are too worth it. You will always be worth it, and from now on, it will be my life’s mission to make sure you know it! And if you ever truly need to be someone else for a while to cope, you now have full access to my costume room.” Roman, decided, producing a skeleton key for said closet that he forced into Virgil’s grasp. “Just please know how much you are loved,” he whispered.

Virgil stared at Princey wide-eyed as he blushed. Roman quickly followed suit as he realized what he just said, “By all of us, of course!” He clarified quickly, face the color of his sash as he covered it with is hands.

Virgil gave the prince one of his rare genuine smiles, and buried his face in Roman’s chest as he hugged him. “Thank you, Roman. Thank you…After hearing that….I think it will be easier now.”

Roman grinned as he hugged the dark prince back without hesitation. “Of course, Virgil. We really do love you,” he smiled, petting the other’s hair.

Virgil made a happy noise that honestly almost sounded like a happy kitten as they stayed like that for a while, taking in their new fragile alliance until Virge thought of something. “Hey, Roman?”

“Yes, dark prince?”

Virgil smiled at that one. “So you think I look better than you in this get up?”

Roman groaned. “We were having such a nice moment!” He exclaimed, back to his dramatics as Virgil cackled next to him. He smiled despite himself; he was just glad to see the other happy. ‘He truly is wonderful, and I will happily spend the rest of my life making sure he knows it every day.’

With this vow in place, Roman finally caved and joined Virgil in his laughter, mismatched clothes all but forgotten.

park jimin | 4,140 words | hockey au / fluff
↳ mornings have always been the bane of your existence until a hockey player by the name of park jimin is involved.

author’s note: welp, this came out longer than i thought… lol. also, bless bts’s “as i told you” cover for inspiring this <3 (you can watch the performance here!)

It goes without saying that waking you up in the morning is like asking for a death wish. You actually enjoy sleeping until noon and waking to see sunlight streaming past your curtains. It’s your own therapy after a long, gruelling weekday of waking up early, studying, and working at as a campus barista, so you refuse to let anyone disturb your weekends. Especially not when your only responsibility on those two days are working from 6 PM to closing. The very act of waking you before 11:30 AM is a downright sin that you would never subject yourself to, ever, and yet—

You’re awake on a Saturday at 7:30 AM. Because to every cloud in which you are never to be woken before a reasonable time is a silver lining that comes in the form of a man named Kim Taehyung. You see, being awake before the sun’s rays hang from high in the sky is a result of your godforsaken family friend asking—well, more like begging—you for a favor that had you known would entail the involvement of the school’s prized dual-playing center forward and right wing defenseman, none other than Park Jimin, would have you rejecting any offers of free milk teas and hot pot for the rest of winter quarter.

Epic Movie (Re)Watch #124 - Zootopia

Spoilers below.

Have I seen it before: Yes

Did I like it then: Yes!

Do I remember it: Yes.

Did I see it in theaters: Yes.

Was it a movie I saw since August 22nd, 2009: Yes. #412.

Format: Blu-ray

1) From the very start this film is excellent storytelling. The opening scene where young Judy and her classmates clearly establishes the conflict of predator vs. prey and the biases that come from that, the film’s humor and heart, and Judy as a character.

2) My mother is an actuary. My brother is studying to be an actuary. Actuaries don’t do this.

Little Jaguar: “Today I can hunt for tax exemptions. I’m going to be an actuary!”

3) Judy’s parents (Don Lake & Bonnie Hunt) are so funny in such a sad way.

Stu: “Judy, you ever wonder how your mom and me got to be so darn happy?”

Judy: “Nope.”

Stu: “Well, we gave up on our dreams and we settled. Right, Bon?”

Bonnie: “Oh yes, that’s right Stu. We settled hard.”

4) Gideon Grey.

Gideon is a perfect example of how nothing - NOTHING - in this film is superfluous, but I’m actually going to speak on that further into the film.

5) The police academy scene gives wonderful exposition. It sets up the environment and rules of Zootopia’s various ecosystems in a way that feeds into Judy’s conflict and character.

6) Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps.

Goodwin (a massive Disney fan herself) breathes perfect life into Hopps. The best voice over work is when you’re not distracted by the voice actor. When their voice and their heart match with the character so perfectly that you don’t hear - say - Kristen Bell as Anna or Mike Myers as Shrek, you only hear the character’s. Goodwin is able to balance Judy’s massive optimism and heart along with the scenes where Judy has lost those things perfectly. I don’t think anyone else could have voiced Hopps as well as Goodwin.

7) If you want to avoid a slew of bad animal puns, don’t look too hard at Judy’s iPod.

8) “Try Everything” by Shakira.

Written by Sia, Tor Erik Hermansen, and Mikkel Storleer Eriksen, the theme song which deserved an Oscar nomination captures Judy’s optimism and struggles perfectly. The song’s lyrics speak of optimism in the face of constant failure, a theme which is very relevant to Judy in the first half of the film. It also provides the perfect backdrop to the visual introduction of Zootopia as Judy enters the city on train.

9) Subtle.

Judy [after Clawhauser calls her “cute”]: “Ooh, ah, you probably didn’t know, but a bunny can call another bunny ‘cute’, but when other animals do it, that’s a little…”

10) This film really runs with the animal puns.

(GIF originally posted by @baawri)

Bogo [turning to an Elephant officer]: “Francine. Happy birthday!”

11) I love the way the filmmakers handled Judy’s office discrimination. She is treated just as a token bunny, someone who’s only there for PR. Except she was top of her class at Zootopia police academy: a difficult feat for anybody, let alone a bunny. But this just feeds into the biases Bogo already has about Judy: she’s not really that good, they just said she was because she’s a bunny. That plays into real life way more than it probably should.

12) Wow, I did not catch how entirely speciesist this line was until now:

Ice Cream Parlor Owner [to Nick]: “Look, you probably can’t read…”

Damn that’s speciesist.

13) Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde.

Remember how I said great voice over work is noted by not realizing you’re listening to a voice over artist? The same can be said of Bateman’s performance of Wilde, 100%. To start, Bateman captures Wilde’s surface level of sly con artists WONDERFULLY well. He’s devilish and charming in the same vein as Danny Ocean or Han Solo, and Bateman expresses this perfectly. But as the film progresses Bateman is also able to show off Nick’s layers. His troubled past, his occasional lack of self-worth and anger at the world. And the honest level never changes. It’s not like Bateman was hired ONLY for the slyness of Nick’s role and had to power through the rest, he’s able to do it all. It’s a great voice over for a great character.

14) The relationship between Nick & Judy is the cornerstone of this film. What I personally like about it is its honesty. There’s no BIG moment when these two meet, it’s a chance encounter which grows to conflict and then budding friendship so organically you don’t even know it’s happening.

15) There is nothing even remotely superfluous in this film. Nick makes a comment about how he’s been running his popsicle con his whole life and that will come back to bite him in the butt later.

16) This pig is played by Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin’s onscreen partner in “Once Upon a Time” and real life husband.

17) The chase through Zootopia is an incredible amount of fun, especially when Judy and Duke get to Little Rodentia. The filmmakers are able to play with their concept in a visual entertaining and imaginative way, which in turn keeps us as the audience wrapped up in the world they’ve established.

Note: I’m going to take about Alan Tudyk as Duke later in the film, at a very specific moment.

18) Again, there is nothing superfluous in this film (a note I’m going to be making a lot):

Judy [after saving Mr. Big’s daughter]: “Love your hair.”

Mr. Big’s Daughter: “Aww, thank you!”

It is this little encounter (and, you know, the fact that Judy saved her life) that saves Judy & Nick from getting “iced” by Mr. Big later in the film.

19) Again, nothing superfluous in the film. As the “non-onions” that Duke stole end up being very important later on.

20) Disney is at its bets when it pokes fun at itself.

Bogo: “Life isn’t some cartoon musical where you sing a little musical and your insipid dreams MAGICALLY COME TRUE! So let it go.”

21) Can we all just take a moment to appreciate Nick’s face after Judy says she’ll arrest him for, “felony tax evasion,” after he brags to her about how he’s been running this con since he was a kid and how much money he makes?

(GIF originally posted by @animations-daily)

22) Again, with the idea that nothing in this film is superfluous: Judy’s recording pen becomes very important as the movie goes on.

23) Only Tommy Chong could play this character.

(GIF source unknown [if this is your GIF please let me know].)

Like there’s a chance he’s not even reading from a script, they just had Tommy Chong come in and told him what the movie was about and he just started talking.

24) This is the funniest part of the whole film, in my opinion.

The entire DMV scene plays well not only with the concept established by the film of an animal society in a way which is funny on its own, but the continuing conflict of Judy’s eagerness, Flash’s slowness, and Nick’s desire to throw a monkey wrench into the whole thing leads to amazing comedy.

25) Did you know Kristen Bell is in this film?

Bell landed the role not only because of her working with Disney on Frozen, but also because she is a noteworthy sloth enthusiast (as seen on “Ellen”).

26) It is nice to see Nick freak out when he realizes he and Judy are in Mr. Big’s limo, as it shows us a part of him we haven’t gotten to look at much in the film so far.

27) Maurice LaMarche as Mr. Big.

(GIF originally posted by @rocktheholygrail)

LaMarche is a noted voice over actor known primarily for his roles as Brain on “Pinky & The Brain”, various characters including Calculon on “Futurama”, and Mr. Freeze in the Batman Arkham series of video games. Here, we get to hear the veteran voice over artist do his best high pitched Brando impression.

28) This film has its fair share of nice surprises, details and twists which keeps you on your toes. The earliest of these is the revelation that the missing mammal Judy & Nick are looking for - Mr. Otterton - was in fact the one who attacked the limo driver (and not that he was the one attacked, as originally perceived).

29) This scene gives me life.

Bogo [after Judy’s witness disappears]: Two days to find the otter, or you quit. That was the deal. [Holding out hand] Badge.

Judy: But sir, we…

Bogo: Badge!

[Judy starts to turn in her badge]

Nick: Uh… no.

Chief Bogo: What did you say, fox?

Nick Wilde: Sorry, what I said was… NO! She will not be giving you that badge.[Bogo flinches] Look, you gave her a… a… a clown vest and a three wheel joke mobile and two days to solve a case you guys haven’t cracked in two weeks? Yeah, no wonder she needed to get help from a fox. None of you guys were gonna help her, were you? [Bogo starts to speak but Nick cuts him off] Here’s the thing, chief. You gave her the 48 hours, so technically we still have… 10 left, to find our Mr. Otterton. And that’s exactly what we’re gonna do. So, if you’ll excuse us, we have a very big lead to follow and a case to crack. Good day.

30) And then there’s this…

I saw this film twice in theaters and both times I was tearing up during Nick’s backstory. Anyone who has ever been bullied as a kid for being different will relate at least a little bit to what Nick went through. And it is this scene when Nick is at his most honesty with Judy, when they become pretty good friends and form a trust with each other.

31) NOTHING IN THIS FILM IS SUPERFLUOUS!!!! NOT EVEN A BLINK OR YOU’LL MISS IT STICKY NOTE ON BELLWETHER’S DESK!!!!

32) I did not think a Disney movie would make me jump like this (stop at 2:11).

33) This is incredibly rare for me, as someone who sees more than 60 films in theaters a year, but after Nick & Judy found the missing mammals and had the mayor arrested I had absolutely NO idea where the film was going after that. At all. I love it!

34) Nick’s face when Judy links the savage animals to being a predator…

(GIF source unknown [if this is your GIF please let me know].)

35) I had a film student criticize this film not based on the merits of its story or character’s or anything, but because they didn’t understand the metaphor. He noted that it’s not a clean comparison between white people and minorities and that’s exactly the point. This film is not about the people in power vs the people who aren’t, because who’s in power? The mayor may be a lion but the most biased character in the film - Chief Bogo - is prey. Bias goes all around and it can infect anybody, no matter what you think. Even Judy, for all her merits, is biased. She carries around fox repellent all the time and even has this line:

Judy: “It’s not like a bunny can go savage.”

That’s what I love about this film. It’s universal. It’s not about one real life society, it is about all societies everywhere and how bias can infect them and taint them and it’s up to us to work against that.

36) Fun fact: I had no idea otters were predators before seeing this film.

37) Gideon Grey returns.

If only all childhood bullies were like that, but again it gets to my oft-repeated point that nothing in this film is superfluous. Gideon could have easily been the one note bully from Judy’s youth who gave her the motivation to prove him wrong, but he comes back 15 years later in the most perfect way. She sees that people can change and that people who are good now are not always good (Gideon when he was younger, Judy when she was biased). It is a really important moment for her that was established all the way in the first ten minutes of this movie. I love that.

38) Judy’s apology to Nick and the way he handles it is something I truly love about this movie and their friendship as a whole.

And then I really love the little joke at the end about Judy trying to get to the pen and can’t help but wonder: was that written in the script? Was it Jason Bateman’s improv that made it into the film? It’s just so natural I must know!

39) Okay, I think this is the last time I will give this note, BUT NOTHING IN THIS MOVIE IS SUPERFLUOUS!!! This is most apparent to me when Nick does a little thing like expressing how much he likes the berries on Judy’s farm and it becomes so important to the plot latter when they switched out those berries with the Night Howlers in Bellwether’s dart gun.

40) THE BOOTLEG MOVIES!!!!

(GIFs originally posted by @bridgetjones)

41) And it’s followed up by this!

Both characters are voiced by Alan Tudyk. Because Disney just can’t let that one slide, can they? I love it.

42) Same Duke. Same.

(GIFs originally posted by @baawri)

43) The sticky note on Bellwether’s phone earlier was for Doug, the guy who mixes the night howler drug that makes animals go savage (this is the same drug who’s key ingredient was mixed from the non-onions Duke stole earlier in the film, FOR Doug).

44) At one point Doug - who is dressed in a yellow radiation suit and makes drugs for a living - lets his client know that “Woolter and Jesse” have arrived.

And yes, they did that on purpose.

45) The entire subway chase sequence is really great, because it is based heavily on the idea of action = consequence. A ram is running at the door, he gets through and hits another ram. The train goes too fast into a turn, it tips over and Judy/Nick are up a creek. It all works very nicely

46) Honestly, I didn’t figure out Bellwether was the bad guy until just before it was revealed the first time I saw this.

47) Bellwether’s line about, “Fear ALWAYS works!” to keep the people in check should not be as relevant in 2017 as it is.

48) Okay, one thing I need to know: Bellwether is in jail, Mayor Lionheart is in jail, and Chief Bogo is still the police chief…SO WHO’S MAYOR NOW!?!?!?

49) I know this film was pretty much a buddy cop movie, but I would be totally fine with a buddy cop movie where Nick is actually a cop.

Lethal Weapon where Nick is Mel Gibson and Judy is…Danny Glover? Okay, that comparison doesn’t really work, but you get me!

50) And of course…

I honestly think Zootopia may be a perfectly written film, and that is not something I say lightly. I made it clear above how I find nothing in the film superfluous, which is an incredible feat I think. And they did it in a way that was never boring, with entertaining characters, an intriguing mystery, and a fun world. Zootopia may be my favorite Disney animated feature film, and it’s definitely my favorite of the “Modern Era” we’re in now (The Princess and the Frog - Present). Just a great, great, great film which deserved its Best Animated Picture win at the Oscars. A true treat all around.

Victor has always been a fascinating character for me. And I’ve been thinking a lot about why I find his character so interesting. So in honor of @viktorweek (and specifically prompt 2 ‘Past’ and prompt 4 ‘Family/Friends’), here are some thoughts on my favorite romantic sadsack.

Perhaps one reason I love Victor as a character is because when I started watching the show I expected something very different from what we got. In the first episode, we as the audience are introduced to Victor Nikiforov, top athlete and celebrity. This Victor is cool, calm, collected. This Victor throws a flirtatious wink at his fans and melts hearts worldwide. This Victor only smiles when he’s on the ice, receiving adulation for his prowess, and is quiet and contemplative in interviews and in his home.

And then of course, we meet the real Victor, the one who danced drunkenly with a stranger and then moved into his house after watching a fateful internet video. The real Victor is absolutely ridiculous. He’s a hedonist. He loves good food, good alcohol, and being comfortable. He lounges about in a loose robe and immediately buys a sofa to fit in his tiny guest room. He relaxes in a hot spring every night and waxes poetic about the beauty of the ocean. And he is unabashedly, overwhelmingly enthusiastic about his interests. He’s delighted by so many things, he loves to be a tourist and enjoy new sights and places. He revels in the drama of competition and approaches every challenge in as over-the-top manner as possible. He thinks about the people he knows in terms of grandiose metaphors and fairy tales.

Rockstar Dean/Demon!Dean Winchester x Reader

Small town singer Dean Winchester suddenly becomes a Vegas rockstar. Will his girlfriend be able to get back the simple man he once was?

Hyattsville was a small town in western Kansas, known for it’s ‘biggest hay bale in America’ tourist trap and a former high school beauty queen turned national news anchor. I met the Winchester brothers one evening when I was getting coffee at a shop in town. They were singing at open mic night- the younger brother playing guitar as the older brother sang. He had an amazing, sultry voice that sent shivers down my arms. And the fact that he was absolutely gorgeous didn’t hurt either.

You stepped onto the escalator descending downwards to the main floor, adjusting the strap of your purse on your shoulder. Your phone was clenched in your hand and you read the messages from your brother twice over. Since you were on the plane for the past few hours, none of his texts sent in order and didn’t make any sense.

From Lil Bro: Haz will be there though

From Lil Bro: Sorry [Y/N]

From Lil Bro: I forgot about an interview I had scheduled

And then one last text got through.

From Lil Bro: I won’t be able to pick you up from the airport today

You didn’t want to say that it was typical of Tom to bail on you like this, but it wasn’t a shock. Which you understood, he had commitments. Like when he couldn’t come with the rest of the family to say goodbye when you moved into your dorm room at university. He did facetime you when you were settled in though, so that was nice.

The only time his absence truly hurt was when he wasn’t there at your graduation. He apologized profusely and flew back to London the first chance he got, but it didn’t change the fact that he wasn’t there for you during your big moment.

And you made it clear to him that you always there for his time in the spotlight, supporting him and cheering him on like a good sibling would.

Neither you or Tom wanted to fight over something like this, but it happened. It was hard to have a good relationship with your brother when he was always traveling and could barely make time for you. It didn’t help that being so close in age often caused the two of you to bicker.

So for the first time in eight months, he put an effort in to see you. He paid for your flight to Toronto where he was in the middle of filming his current project and asked for you to spend a week out there with him. After some hesitation, you finally said yes.

But already this wasn’t starting out like you had hoped. He wasn’t even going to be there to pick you up. It’d be his best friend instead.

anonymous asked:

Hello 😊 sooooo I've JUST recently gotten into SHINee ( honestly I've been wanting to get into SHINee for a while but I've just been lazy until now) so I'm new to the fandom--whooop! - So I was wondering, is there anything I should know about SHINee? Also could you recommend me anything SHINee related?

welcome to the fandom, sweetpea!

there’s a lot of history to tell from these past ten years, so I’ll give you a condensed version of things (there was this huge masterpost/introduction on shinee I was going to link but I can’t seem to find anywhere otl; I’ll keep searching for it, though); even more so because… I believe it’s easier, in fact, to learn about them slowly and steadily as you become more and more involved with them.

so, take all the time you need! it’s really more exciting to fall in love with the boys little by little tbh.

forget about the typical roles found in kpop groups: all five are vocals (and visuals). shinee as a whole is very different from currently active/3rd generation groups - even though they’ve been on the run for longer, they are still young, they always bring in new, exciting concepts and flawless performances and tend to be compared to rookies in what concerns their energy on stage; meaning, they work as hard and with as much enthusiasm as a group that just debuted.

taemin is very clumsy and has a habit of losing/breaking things by accident. (important: he hates bugs and I don’t say this lightly.) he’s very reserved and an introvert, but he loves his close friends and family dearly. usually more comfortable somewhere with food available. the personification of persistence and passion for what he does. also, he’s a soloist with three (Korean: Ace and Press It / Japanese: Sayonara Hitori) successful albums released. (you can find my - heavily biased - picks of favorite taem videos here.)

oh and still related to taemin - we have this thing where chanting his name brings in luck, apparently

minho is everyone’s dream boy: acts, raps, sings, writes his own lyrics, is gorgeous and charming and athletic, always working hard to become a better version of himself and the sweetest being you’ll ever hear about. he’s tall and big and all, yes, but don’t fool yourself: he’s soft, affectionate, touchy and a Real sap 24/7. his dad pretty much adopted the other four. he starred on a movie titled ‘Derailed’ recently; on KBS’s Hwarang: The Beginning and a bunch of dramas you can find on a masterlist at the end of this post.

key is a hardworking, inspirational and real example of someone who’s been through a lot and has a lot to useful advice to share based on previous experiences (also, he’s the king of aesthetics). he knows where he stands and doesn’t take bullshit from anyone - that’s why he’s the one to quickly shut down any member who’s being Too Much during an interview/show/etc; which is funny, because key himself is full of energy and will like, do the most for as long as he can get away with it. he’s been featured in a bunch of musicals and took part in a duo, Toheart, back in 2014. solo projects include a collab song with Axodus and an ost with NCT’S Doyoung.

a guide on how much of a sweetheart is kim jonghyun - he’s a complex being with a heart much too big and we’re always learning something new about him. I think the best way to get to know him is through the blue night radio; as its dj, he often shares bits of himself you’ll learn to put together little by little and love as a whole. he’s a soloist, too, with two officially promoted albums (Base and She Is) and a self-composed compilation (Story Op.1) released.

onew is their strength, their main pillar; someone who doesn’t impose his views on the boys and who, in exchange, is extremely respected and loved by each of them (despite his dad jokes and bad puns - they adore him, I’m not even joking). no wonder he won leader of the year back in 2015. ah, yes - he’s a prime example of sunshine incarnate. (he acts, too! he was a rockstar on the musical Rock of Ages and a doctor on Descendants of the Sun.)

the boys are so genuine in themselves, to each other and to everyone else those who work with them are all about compliments and admiration

and it’s not without a reason everyone says they are a family

something I highly recommend checking on in terms of dancing and singing skills and the relationship between the members in general: their concerts. the first one I’ve ever watched was the SHINee World Concert III (which is still my favorite!) and if there’s anything that made me fall even harder for them, like… that was it. Yoosung:

The fall breeze blew through your (H/C) locks, causing them to wave behind you. You let out a soft sigh, rubbing your cold hands together for warmth.

Yoosung took notice of this, and couldn’t help the smile that tugged on his features. He slowly brought a hand down to your own, gently interlocking your hand in his, instantly spreading warmth into it.

The two of you decided you would go buy a new video game to play with each other, wanting to spend more time together. He was always playing LOLOL, so, you wanted to see if you could find something that you could play instead of the usual.

Beginning to get bored of walking, you let out a small groan, and tilted your head up towards the sky. In that moment, you two had finished walking past a line of large trees, that were blocking the sun from hitting you.

A ray of light seemed to make it’s way on your (S/C) skin, giving you a beautiful glow.

Yoosung felt his breath hitch in his throat as he stared at your now smiling figure. The way he saw you…you were absolutely stunning.

The boy gulped, unable to stop himself from saying exactly what was on his mind.

“God..I just…gahh, I love you so much, (Y/N).” He admitted, shyly looking down at the leaf filled side walk.

You snapped your head over to him, blinking. Had you heard him right? Did he just say what you thought he said?

Once you finally processed what he had actually said, you had to think for a moment. How did you feel?

This boy had just confessed. He was giving you the opportunity to smash his heart on the ground if you didn’t feel the same.

You took a deep breath, letting out a small giggle. Yoosung bit his lip, not sure if that meant you didn’t return the feeling.

“Yoosung. I love you, too.” You finally said. His face lit up, happiness filling his violet eyes.

He picked you up into the air, excitedly spinning you around. Once he put you down, he couldn’t help but place a delicate kiss on your soft, pink lips.

You stayed like that for a few moments, just melting into each other.

Yes, you truly did love this boy..

707:

“COME ON SOLDIER, I’LL RACE YOU! FIRST ONE TO GET TO THE HONEY BUDDHA CHIPS WINS.” Luciel exclaimed, starting to run off in the direction of the chips.

You let out a gasp, and pushed your bottom lip out.

“CAPTAIN SEVEN..! YOU LITTLE CHEATING SHIT!” You yelled out to him, as you tried to catch up.

Of course, exercise was never your thing. You’d much rather find yourself on the couch with some pizza, and a marathon of (Favorite Show.)

“I KNOW YOU DON’T ‘DO EXERCISE’ BUT COME ON.” He started to bust out in laughter, unable to continue running for the time being, due to the lack of breath.

You smirked, knowing exactly what to do. You would take advantage of the red head’s sudden pause, and pass him. Then, you’d be on top of the world!! Or..at least, on top of his chip stash.

You began to sprint as fast as you could, desperately trying to catch up. He didn’t notice at first, and by the time he actually did..it was too late.

You passed him with a grin, chuckling lightly at his mistake.

Once you made it to the Honey Buddha Chips, you collapsed into the floor, breathing heavily.

It took a moment, but Luciel caught up to you, sitting down in a criss-crossed position. He stuck his tongue out at you, taking a bag of the chips from the pile.

“Well, that’s all the exercise I’m doing this year.” You panted, also pulling yourself out a bag.

Luciel laughed, smiling at his lazy excuse of a girlfriend. He loved how cute you were when you were lazy. He loved how you’d always joke around with him. He loved that you two had the whole “soldier, captain” deal going on…and..he just loved you.

He didn’t know if it was too early or not, but he knew what he wanted to say, and he wasn’t going to hold it back.

“I really love you, you know that?” He quietly admitted, leaning over to you. He brushed a stand of your (H/C) hair out of your face, placing a quick kiss on your lips.

You tensed up, as he said those three words to you for the first time. Playing it cool, you relaxed into him.

You pulled away from each other, smiling.

“I love you too, Luciel.”

~~

Jumin:

You smiled, thanking the waitress as you got the bill.

Jumin reached a hand over to pick it up, but you quickly grabbed it before he could even brush a finger on it. He looked over at you, slightly tilting his head in confusion.

“I want to pay!” You exclaimed, pulling your card out of your wallet. Jumin’s eyes widened for a moment, as if he couldn’t believe his ears.

“(Y/N). Don’t be ridiculous. I’ll be paying for our meal. It’s common curiosity.” He sighed, holding out his hand for the check. You narrowed your eyes, your lips forming a tiny smirk.

“We could at least split the bill.” You reasoned, placing your card down on the white clothed table.

Jumin was starting to get even more confused. Why weren’t you like other girls? Why weren’t you trying to get him to pay for the dinner, along with having him get you a thousand other things? Of course, he wouldn’t mind if you were. He would happily spend some money on you. However..the fact that he was assured you weren’t after his money..was very calming.

“You want to split the bill?” He asked, smiling softly. You nodded, and he shrugged, reaching over to take your card. At first, you felt satisfied..but then, you realized that he was putting your card in his back pocket.

“Hey! What are you doing?” You frowned, moving a stand of hair out of your face.

Jumin propped his elbows up on the table, continuing to give you that charming smile of his.

“You’ll get it back when we leave.” He casually stated, making your eyes widen.

“What? I thou-” he cut you off, getting a more serious look on his face.

“I appreciate the thought, (Y/N), however, I wish for you to keep your own money. I’ll take care of it tonight.”

You let out a small groan, glancing over to the side of the floor. Jumin chuckled, moving his arms back off the table.

“Don’t be like that, (Y/N). You know, I love you..” He confidently admitted, having no doubt in his mind that you were someone special to him.

You quickly looked to him, a big grin finding its way on your face.

“Is that so…? Well, Mr. Han. I love you, too, if I do say so myself~”

Zen:

Zen jumped off the stage, grabbing the icy water bottle he had left on the floor.

You were currently watching one of his rehearsals, and let me just say..hot.

You looked up from your position in the old theater chair, slowly pushing yourself up to sit straight. You gave Zen a quick little wave, earning a smile from the man. He quickly mouthed a “hello, beautiful” to you, before pulling himself back on stage.

Zen took a big drink of the water, setting it back down as soon as he was finished. He rubbed his hands together, looking back over at the director.

“Now, I want you to really put yourself into this role. I know you can do it, Zen.” The director said. “Lights..Camera…ACTION!”

“Please, (insert other female name here.) Not after all we’ve been though…If you leave, what am I? Will I even be a man anymore? Or will I just become..become a lost child?” Zen said to the female lead in front of him.

You watched as he played out the scene, almost cringing at some parts of the script. You kinda wished you the one up there. That way, he could be talking to you. Even if it was cringe worthy.

Zen took the other females hand in his, looking her into the eyes as he prepared to say the next line.

“I love you, (Y/N)…” He stage whispered, before realizing his error. You felt yourself choke on the air, widening your eyes.

“CUT..! God, Zen..” The director sighed, running a hand through his hair. He waved his hand at Zen, grabbing his own water. “Take five.”

Zen quickly came back off stage, rushing over to be by your side.

“Hey..! (Y/N)! Uhm..did you hear that?” He nervously asked, awkwardly scratching the back of his neck. You blinked, nodding slightly, unable to form an actual word. “Damn..I was hoping to tell you in a more romantic way then that.” He sighed, taking your hand, and pulling you up to your feet. “I guess I’ll just have to do this now.” He smiled. Before you could have a chance to speak, he kissed you.

You felt yourself go weak at the knees, wrapping your arms around his neck.

All too soon, he pulled away from you, resting his forehead on yours.

“I do love you, (Y/N).” He whispered breathlessly.

“I love you, too, Zen..”

Jaehee:

You two had a day off, and you knew instantly that you wanted to spend it together.

So, there you were. Cuddled up together on your bed, ensuring that you both stayed warm on this particularly chilly fall night.

Normally, you two talked about more serious topics, which usually ended in one of you ranting, or making some deep confession.

As always, this was the case.

You two talked about how much the other meant to you, almost making it like a childish competition.

“Well, Jaehee.” You started, shifting slightly in the bed, keeping one arm securely wrapped around her. “Have I ever told you..that you’re the most beautiful woman I have ever laid my eyes on?” You whispered, giving her a small smirk. You placed a finger underneath her chin, leaning your head over just enough to place a soft kiss on her small lips.

She let out a groan when you parted, obviously wanting more. She slowly moved her hand down to your lower back, rubbing small circles into your skin.

“Well, (Y/N). How about I tell you..that I love you..” She shyly says, a blush taking over her features. You felt your heart skip a beat, as you bit your lip. You were happy that she really did feel the same way as you.

“Well, I’d say that I love you, too.”

V:

You brought the bag of bread down from the bottom shelf, placing it onto the kitchen counter.

You let out a small puff of breath, grabbing the toaster and plugging it in. You wanted to make some breakfast, and originally planned on making a great, big healthy one..but, it was just too much effort for you to put forth at the moment.

V wandered his way into the kitchen, smiling as he saw your beautiful figure moving around as you made some toast. He almost wished he had his camera. Even in your most simple moments, you still managed to fascinate him.

Noting that you didn’t seem to notice the blue haired man, he slowly walked over to you, wrapping his strong arms around your torso from behind. He snuggled his head into your neck, placing a soft kiss on it.

The gestures as a whole had first startled you, making you jump a bit. He didn’t seem to mind, as he only secured his grip around you.

“V, would you like some toast?” You laughed, preparing to get another couple of slices out of the bag.

“I’d love some. Thank you, (Y/N).” He said, pulling away from you. You instantly felt a wave of the cool air surround you, and you sighed.

V leaned on a nearby chair, continuing to watch you make the toast. He was grateful that you were put in his life. Especially after he had went through hell and back. He constantly had to ask himself..“is this real? Do I actually deserve such a wonderful woman?”

He only had three words left to say to you in this moment.

The toast finally popped out of the toaster, and you jumped again, obviously startled by the sudden noise it had made.

V chuckled at you, watching as you placed the slices of toast on a plate. You handed him the plate, giving him a sweet smile.

“Thank you, (Y/N).” He said. He gave you a quick kiss on the cheek, before leaning over by your ear. “I love you.” He stated, refusing to make eye contact. Your heart fluttered, as you pulled him into a tight hug.

“I love you, too, V.”

Saeran:

You let out a groan, as you sat yourself in your desk chair, placing your head in your hands.

Saeran looked over at you from his spot on your bed, tilting his head at your sudden action.

“(Y/N)?” He said, standing up, and moving over to where you were. He didn’t really know what to do in this situation, so, he awkwardly placed a hand on your back, patting it lightly.

You sighed, lifting your head back up to look at him. He gasped the moment you looked up. You had tears in your eyes, and it was quite obvious they’ve been there for a while. Your eyes were all red and puffy, and their were little tear stains on your pink cheeks.

He started to mentally panic, not knowing what to do or say. He hated to see you upset..it physically pained him to see you even about to cry.

“(Y/N)..uh..what’s..what’s wrong?” He tried, raising a brow.

You pushed your hair behind your ear, 100% ready to rant.

You began to talk about how these girls were talking about you at the store, making rude remarks right in front of you. You had a fight with one of your good family members, and they seemed to be pretty damn mad at you, now.

And so on and so forth.

“- and I just don’t know what to do. I feel as if the world just hates me. Everyone hates me.” You said, exaggerating a little bit, due to your frustration. Saeran blinked, not wanting to hear you say this about yourself.

“I don’t hate you..” Saeran said, trailing off at the end. You gave him a half hearted smile, before giving him a pat on the back.

“Than-”

“..Because I- I think I love you.” He finished, giving you a confident smile. You didn’t think, before pulling him into a crushing hug.

“Really, now? Well, I think I love you, too.”

You had found a flight home that night and made it to Kingston by sundown the next day. It was weird being home after traveling around the globe with Tom and Harrison for so long but it was nice to be where Tom had no control over you.

You had shut off your phone after the incident not wanting to be bothered by anyone but upon turning it back on you were bombarded with messages from Harrison, all worrying about you. After a long shower and a quick meal you decided to give him a call.

“(Y/N)!” He yelled into the phone, you could hear the relief in this voice, it almost made you feel better.

“Harrison!” You mock yelled back, trying to keep the mood light.

“Why haven’t you answered me? Tom said you left and I had to almost kill him to explain to me why, then I actually killed him afterwards. I was so worried, (y/n). I’m sorry.” You both talked for about an hour after that, mostly about how you missed him already, trying to avoid the topic of Tom. He promised to visit you soon but to try to facetime you at least once a day.

When you hung up you missed that familiar kiss on your temple that you had always exchanged before you parted. And it was all Tom’s fault. He took this all from you. You hated him.

You found a job at a studio in London, Harrison forced Tom to put in a good word for you. It kept you busy during the days and during the nights you waited for a call from Harrison that would last for hours. You would curl up on your bed, secretly missing the excitement of a new hotel bed almost every night, and laugh with Harrison until he forced himself to hang up. It warmed your heart to have a friend at night since everything felt so wrong during the day. You had grown so accustom to new sights, new foods, and new faces. Everything now was so mundane. The only thing you looked forward to anymore was Harrison’s stories, but there was always that small part of you that you hid deep inside that hated his face because all you could see was Tom, and all you remembered were those last words he said to you.

“So, I’ll be home in a few days, are you going to show me around your new studio?” Harrison smiled on the other end, your heart skipping a beat.

“You’re coming home? Is Tom coming?” Harrison tried his best not to let that comment hurt him, but his face told the whole story. “Oh, I’m sorry, that’s not what I meant, Harrison. I am happy you’re coming home, I miss you so much, I just want to try to avoid Tom, you know?” You bit your lip.

“I understand. He’ll be home too. We have a three week break from filming for the Holidays.” His attitude had completely changed and you regretted even asking about Tom.

“Well, at least I’ll have my favorite man to spend Christmas with.” You tried to cheer him up.

“Yeah, well, listen, I have to go. I’ll see you soon, love you.” He hung up without even letting you respond and you dropped your phone on your bed next to you, sighing in frustration.

You knew you couldn’t avoid Tom forever but you assumed you had more time.

“This is a bad idea.” You whispered to yourself, brushing a few strands of hair that fell in your face as you forced yourself out of your car. You were dressed to the nines, you had woken up three hours early to do your hair and makeup. Tom and Harrison were coming home today and you were meeting them at the airport as a surprise. No, you were meeting Harrison at the airport, Tom could keep walking, you were here for your friend.

You waited patiently, watching over the heads of family members who greeted their loved ones. People were filing out in pairs slowly, filling the room quickly. You were almost worried they had walked right past you when you spotted a familiar head of brown curls followed by a blonde. You dropped from your tippy toes and squeezed your way through the crowed mumbling small apologies.

“Harrison!” You yelled, throwing yourself into his unsuspecting arms. He let out a laugh, wrapping his strong arms around you and lifting you into the air.

“Hey!” He set you down, kissing your temple, a gesture you had missed dearly. “I wasn’t expecting you.”

“I thought I’d surprise my favorite man, after all, you’ve done so much for me the last month, you deserve to be treated right.” You held his hands, watching him smile from ear to ear. Every part of you wanted to be one hundred percent focused on him but you could see Tom in the corner of your eye, waiting for his best friend so they could retrieve their bags, annoyed as ever. His hat helped hide his face but he would have to fish his sun glasses out of his carry on to be able to hide the glare that he was currently sporting.

He cleared his throat, grabbing both of your attention. You were thankful you were given a chance to stare at him without looking desperate. He looked tired, a few loose curls falling in front of his sunken eyes.

“Tom.” You nodded, taking a deep breath to keep your composure.

“(Y/N). Harrison, can we fetch our bags, I really want to go home and sleep for the next three weeks.” You could hear him try to hold back his annoyance of watching you all over his best friend, but Harrison just smiled and apologized, picking his carry on off the ground and leading you both to the exit.

Harrison tried his best to politely keep you from jumping all over him in front of Tom but you were so excited to have him back, you couldn’t keep your hands off of him. You didn’t care about what Tom thought about it, or maybe you did, but you wouldn’t admit that. You wouldn’t admit that you spent hours trying to match the perfect tight shirt to your leggings, making sure every curve showed in just the right way or how you tied your hair up just enough to show off that little bit of neck you knew Tom loved to kiss. This was all for Harrison, completely platonic of course.

You drove Harrison home letting Tom catch a cab back. His hand rested on your thigh as you talked about all the little details he missed throughout the month of facetiming. You missed the joy in his voice that technology could never truly register. He always could lighten up any conversation with it.

You couldn’t help but feel sad at you pulled up to his house, dreading being alone again, but he needed family time and he hadn’t slept in his own bed in who knows how long.

“I’m going to miss you.” You pouted.

“I’m like, a mile away from you.” He laughed, holding your hand.

“I know. I just can’t wait to see you again. You said Tuesday you want to see my studio?”

“Yeah, just a few days. I’ll facetime you if that makes you feel better.” He kissed your hand before letting it go, gathering up his carry on off of the floor of your car.

“I mean you could always just walk over but facetime is fine too.” You smiled.

“We’ll see, love you.” He kissed your temple, you instinctively shut your eyes at the comforting gesture.

The next week and a half was bliss. Harrison stopped by after dinner almost every night if he could. Even if it was only for a little while, it still made all the difference in the world being curled up on the couch with your best friend instead of sitting in your empty apartment dreading the silence.

You had showed him your new job, it was a very small set and it wasn’t very exciting but Harrison made you feel like a million bucks for working there. Acting surprised at every little thing.

On his free days you were lazy in bed, watching dumb movies, cough cough batman, and eating junk food that you would regret after he left again.

And as promised you had spent Christmas together, you went to his parents’ house, ate dinner, exchanged gifts. He had gotten you a necklace with a small origami dog charm on it. You had seen it in a small knickknack shop that you had walked past with Harrison a few days before. You had made him a flash drive with pictures and videos from when you were children growing up together and all your adventures with him on the road. Of course it pained you to see the memories with Tom but you knew you had to share your best friend, even if you hated it, hated him.

He dropped you off around ten before he went back to his own flat. A kiss on the temple and he was gone, leaving you alone in your small apartment.

You were almost asleep when you heard a knock on your door. You thought you were dreaming but another knock echoed through your hall so you stumbled out of your bed and to the door.

The last person you were expecting was Tom, but here he was, leaned against your door frame, the smell of alcohol radiating off of him.

“Tom? What the fuck? It’s midnight.” You rubbed the sleep out of your eyes, hoping that maybe you were actually dreaming, unfortunately you weren’t. He pushed his way in to your apartment, shaving you aside as you tried to stop him.

“So, is this your sick way of getting back at me?” He asked, keeping himself steady against your wall. You looked at him confused which just made him angrier. “Don’t fucking act stupid, (Y/N). You’re fucking my best friend to get back at me. All because I told you what no one else had the guts to say. You’re a slut. A stupid fucking slut that can’t handle the fact that I’m not in love with you.”

“Tom you’re drunk.” You bit your tongue from saying anything more.

“Just admit you’re fucking Harrison.” You waved his arms, almost knocking into the picture frames you had on the wall.

“I’m not. We’re just friends.” You crossed your arms, watching him make a fool of himself.

“Liar. He told me how he felt about you, but he didn’t want to make things weird so he wasn’t going to do anything about it, but you’ve been all over him since we got back. Don’t act like you dressed up for him at the airport, that was all for me.” He was inching closer to you slowly but you tried your best to keep your distance.

“Don’t flatter yourself, Holland.”

“Just admit it, (Y/N).” You were backed up against your wall now, your heart rate picking up. You had known Tom for years, before he got famous, he would never lay a hand on a woman but he was drunker than you had ever seen him before.

“We’re just friends.” You said again, causing him to sigh loudly.

“Then what the fuck is this, huh?” He grabbed at your necklace, making you flinch. With a small tug the chain broke and he threw your charm across the room.

“Tom!” You screamed, tears filling your eyes.

“That’s what I fucking thought. You stay the fuck away from my best friend, you skank.” With a few proud strides he was out your door, closing it with a loud slam, leaving you speechless and a wreck. Tears were streaming down your face and your whole body was shaking. You searched the room for the small charm, sobbing loudly, finally able to take in a whole breath when you found it.

You held it tightly as you slid down your wall, hugging your knees when you hit the floor. You didn’t know how long you cried for but you were absolutely exhausted by the time you lifted your head out of your arms.

You walked to the bathroom, cleaning yourself up, hating the way you let a boy do this to you. You hated Tom Holland.

You weren’t sure he would answer when you knocked on his door at two AM but when Harrison opened his flat door there was a fire burning inside of you, one that only he could control.

“(Y/N)?” His voice was low, you had obviously woken him, but you didn’t care. You walked forward, standing on your toes you slammed your lips against his, your hand on his neck pulling him in closely. At first he didn’t respond, making you second guess everything you had come here to do, but when his hands ran across the small of your back you knew that this was right.

You followed him in, never breaking contact with him. Your feet clumsily intertwining, making everything more difficult that it had to be, but his hands followed the walls, leading you both into his small bedroom.

You shoved him onto his king bed, finally breaking contact just long enough to pull off his shirt. You straddled his lap, pushing him down, biting at his neck leaving small dark marks along it. With every tug of skin he let out soft moans fueling the fire even more. His hands slid up your shirt, desperate to loose the unneeded fabric. You let him remove it while you worked at your bra. You could feel him grow harder under you as he admired your body silently.

“Fuck me, Harrison.” You whispered, looking down at his toned body needing it more than you needed to breathe.

He flipped you over, tearing your pants off, kissing down your chest, making sure to give extra attention to your sensitive breasts. His fingers rubbing carefully between your lips while you moaned, grabbing at his sheets. You heard him slip out of his sweats, the fire inside of you burning hotter making you wetter.

His lips crashed against yours as he lined up with your opening, your nails sunk into his back as he sunk into you earning moans from both of you. He started slow, tantalizingly slow, making you squirm under him. He smiled at your inpatients, leaning his forehead against yours. He picked up the speed, causing you to tighten around him. Small profanities fell from his mouth, his hot breath meeting your neck.

Your stomach was in knots, all of your senses were turned up to eleven, you were close, so close. You grabbed on to him, then his sheets, anything that would keep you grounded.

“Harrison.” You cried as you hit your climax causing him to release inside you pure ecstasy running through you both.

He rolled off you, his chest rising and falling quickly. You tried to cam your own breathing, staring at the ceiling, the fire that had once burning inside you so fiercely now completely extinguished.

You both were silent for the longest time, not knowing what to say. No less than six hours ago you were just friends, but you had a history of this, you always grew too attached.

“I have to go.” You whispered, sitting up and looking around the room for your clothes.

“Wait, what?” Harrison watched you, confused. “Why?”

“I’m sorry.” You slipped on your shirt and pants, unable to make eye contact, not bothering to slip on anything else before rushing into his living room and towards his door.

“Wait, (Y/N).” He grabbed your wrist before you were able to reach the knob, you were holding back tears now. “Don’t. I’m not like him, this wasn’t a one time thing for me. I love you.” You looked up at him with glossy eyes, not knowing how to respond.

“I’m sorry.” You forced out before leaving.

Why was your mind still racing to Tom?

Now that I’ve succumbed to the charm of the Chinese web series Addicted and the two leads, I must admit that there’s something awfully hot about the way one actor likes to use the other as his personal jiujitsu exercise tool, even while rehearsing ‘bed scenes’. He can just manhandle him at will, carry him around, wrestle him down and sit on him. It shouldn’t be sexy, but it is.

And I so love this ‘scene’, it’s a strange mixture of hilarious, genuine behind-the-scenes happenings and staged fan-service, but still so damn adorable. Warming the other’s feet on his stomach, it’s just very sweet.

And then I love the fact that while the character Bai Lou Yin is very grumpy and serious, the actor is the most adorably constantly smiling guy who seems to make everyone around him happy too. And for some reason, I find this silly little video awfully adorable since they being so flirty and happy (once you’ve opened this particular door, everything seems flirty, but hey, it’s fun) with each other.

Watching these two guys, (with like 3.5 millions followers between them on their social media accounts!), it’s apparent they’re in bit of a predicament. This ever-increasing censorship rules from the Chinese government are just getting worse, but even though Addicted was banned from Chinese media, the guys are seemingly getting a lot of attention. They’ve aquired legions of (hysterical) fans from being in a show on a theme forbidden in their own country. People love the show, are crazy about the two actors and most seem to think they should get married (or something *g*) and so many articles and whatnot are still about those two posing together, often suggestively, even after the ban. But since a possible season 2 won’t be shown in China, will they want to be in it? It’s what has given them exposure, but it’s still a banned show. Such a dilemma, I imagine. Hopefully, the market from other countries is big enough. The absurd dichotomy of the censorship and what a lot of people want, is so evident in this case. It’s angering and saddening. Makes me very intensely want to support this show.

cuiwi  asked:

fluffy shidge ficlet, uhh... pidge and shiro playing a videogame together? pidge is losing and she cheats by trying to distract shiro, maybe :3c

“Just write a super quick ficlet,” I said to myself. “It’ll take no time at all,” I said to myself (PS OMG THANK YOU FOR THE PROMPT):

There were a lot of things Pidge would do for love. In fact, she kept an updated and enumerated list of things should would do to love which, as of her most recent count, contained 37 items subcategorized as “Under Any Circumstances” and 12 items listed under “Only Under Extreme Circumstances and Probably with Some Bitching Involved.” As she wiped a sweat-sticky hand across her shirt and tightened her grip on her joystick, she reviewed said list for not the first time that hour. Things she had done for love included but were not limited to:

  • Chopping off her hair and putting up with the reek of teenage boy BO and Axe-soaked dorms for six months
  • Barrelling lion-first into the path of a massive bolt of quintessence despite having damaged both her particle barrier and cloaking shield in battle
  • Occasionally relinquishing the last slice of Hunk’s homemade pizza
  • Learning an alien language, traveling half-way across the universe on her own, and fighting a Druid on her own before Keith could show up for extraction
  • Sharing the blanket and going to bed at a reasonable hour at least three times a month
  • Trading her last Mars bar to Lance, who in return agreed not to needle Keith for a week, as part of a bargain she made with Hunk over a batch of his scaultrite cookies, which she then took to the Swap Moon after bribing Coran with a rubber duck she’d knicked from Lance, where, after some hard bartering, she was finally able to trade the cookies for a classic, mint-condition Earth Atari gaming system and three games, all because Shiro had mentioned once that he used to enjoy spending hours playing his grandmother’s old Atari games.

Pidge squinted at the screen, yanking back and forth on the joystick as she attempted to get her paddle in place in time. The tiny white dot on the screen sailed past her rectangular paddle, and a low, blaring tone announced her epic miss. The score on the screen - the wrong side of the screen - jumped from ‘5’ to ‘6’.

“Halfway there,” Shiro said. “But you can still catch up.”

Her glare shifted from the big, fat ‘0’ on her side of the screen to the tight-lipped expression on Shiro’s face. Pidge wrinkled her nose; she knew that expression like she knew the back of her own sore and sweaty hands. He was trying, and near failing, not to laugh at her plight.

There was a long list of things Pidge would do for love. But nowhere on that list was “Getting her ass handed to her in a game of Pong by her boyfriend.” Gritting her teeth, Pidge jammed the single button on the controller to start the next round. The ball drifted across the black screen, hit Shiro’s perfectly placed paddle with an electronic blip, and once again missed her paddle by a mile.

“I swear you’re cheating,” she grumbled. With a harumph, she slouched down further into his lap and started the next round.

“I swear I’m not,” he replied. “I guess it’s just like riding a bike.”

The vibration from his laughter may have coursed down her spine with a pleasant warmth, and he may have placed a gentle kiss on the crown of her head right before he landed another point, but no matter how affectionate, and handsome, and stunning he was, Pidge was not going to let his endless charm get the best of her. She’d fought Lance tooth and nail for the title of “Voltron Video Game Champion” and she wasn’t about to lose it to Shiro over a game that was probably as old as Coran or something.

She had to do something.

Shiro’s score hit ‘10’ and the idea hit her. As they played the next round, she stretched up in his lap until the top of her head came just above his chin. Loose from its usual ponytail, her hair clouded up and out in all directions - including right under Shiro’s nose. Without tearing her eyes from the screen, Pidge tilted her head up a fraction of an inch, then shook it ever-so-slightly.

And just as she’d hoped, Shiro reared his head back to get away from the tickle of her hair and dropped his concentration just long enough for her to score her first point.

“Nailed it!” she cheered, pumping a fist. She turned her head and looked up at Shiro, only to be met with a set of eyes narrowed in suspicion.

“Lucky shot,” he muttered.

He hunched forward the best he could with her in his lap and wrapped his hands back around his joystick. All of the casual ease drained from his face, replaced with a furrowed brow and pursed lips.

“Just be more aware of where you put your hair,” Shiro continued as he pressed the button to begin.

“Sorry,” she said, sounding far-from-sorry. “The damn thing has a mind of its own.”

The next round started. There was no way Shiro would be fooled by the same thing twice, so this time, Pidge went low. As if trying to get into a more comfortable position, she began to squirm and shift in his lap.

There was nothing Pidge loved more than a smooth, predictable system of operations: Pidge rolled her hips in his lap; Shiro let out a sharp exhale; and a second point went up in Pidge’s favor.

Shiro set the joystick down next to him and planted his hands on her hips. His lips dipped down to brush the shell of her ear, and despite herself, she squirmed against him again.

“Let me guess,” he breathed, fingers flexing. “This thing has a mind of its own too?”

“Yup.” She let her head fall back against his chest to watch his reaction. It was hard to tell in the dim, bluish light of the screen, but Shiro’s eyes seemed to darken as he took her in. His fingers dug into her sides, and he pulled her closer against him.

“You wouldn’t be trying to distract me so that you can win, would you?” he asked, leaning in.

She rolled her eyes, but knew she’d given herself away when she caught her bottom lip between her teeth.

“I’d never.”

“Never?”

Shiro’s lips brushed her cheek. Was it her blush or his touch that burned across her skin?

“Never,” she echoed.

The word sounded distant to her own ears, as if she’d half-forgotten what she’d been saying. When his mouth captured hers, any remaining half-thought vanished, replaced by the sweet slick of his tongue gliding against hers. Firm against hers, his lips pressed hard and moved in slow circles. His hand skirted under the hem of her shirt and slid slowly up her side. He matched her low moan with an unsteady inhale, then broke their kiss.

“Too bad,” he panted. “Because I would.”

Pidge’s brain slogged through the wave of fresh endorphins, trying to grasp at his meaning. A moment later, the 8-bit bong of a ball hitting the edge of the screen cut through her thoughts. Whipping towards the screen, she watched in horror as Shiro’s score turned to ‘11’ - Game Over.

“Y-you-” she stammered.

“I?” Shiro’s lips curled into a grin.

Given her devastating loss, Pidge had no choice but to seek immediate retribution.

“You’re lucky I love you,” she said, grabbing him by his shoulders and dragging his lips down to hers.

(I HOPE THIS WAS OKAY THANK YOU AGAIN!!)

Amidst the excruciating silence your mind would often wonder back to the audition; the intense stares of your competition, the staff who would roll off the names and category number of each hopeful dancer and of course, the way their eyes followed each and every move your body made.

A feminist defense of the animated Belle (warning: long)

Ah, Belle. She’s one of the universal favorites of all the Disney princesses and possibly my own personal favorite, hard though it is to choose. She was the first Disney heroine whose screenplay was written by a woman, Linda Woolverton, and has been widely acclaimed as “Disney’s first feminist heroine” (or at least the second, if you count Ariel as the first). Yet as with every Disney heroine, plenty of feminists over the years have disdained and lambasted her. The publicity surrounding the live-action remake seems to have enhanced the criticisms of the original: Emma Watson, Bill Condon, Jacqueline Durran, et al, have all made a real effort to make their version of Belle a more “empowered” and “modern” heroine than the original and emphasized this fact in all their interviews. This is all well and good, but in response, too many people are now claiming that the original Belle was never “really” strong, smart or interesting and that Watson’s Belle is superior in every way. Having grown up loving the original Belle, and knowing about the tireless efforts that Linda Woolverton, lyricist Howard Ashman, storyboard artist/writer Brenda Chapman, and others put into making her a strong, empowered character, I can’t possibly agree with the criticisms. They make some valid points, but on the whole they range from half-truths to total nonsense!

So here’s my feminist defense of the original, animated Belle. I don’t address every complaint I’ve ever read about the character, only the complaints about feminist issues. For example, I don’t address the common claim that she’s “a snob,” because that gripe has nothing to do with gender roles. But even with this narrow focus, be warned: this defense is long, because I’ve read a lot of complaints over the years and I have no shortage of opinions about them.

Director’s Eye Re: Akashi

“In the TV series where Akashi fought with Kuroko and Seirin, his personality changed from “Boku” to “Ore”. This time, we start out with the “Ore” Akashi, but he decided that he wouldn’t be able to win against Nash that way, so “Boku” Akashi comes out. From the very beginning, we already decided that we wanted to play what we, in the studio call “The Akashi Empire Theme Song” (i.e. KnB Soundtrack Vol. 3: The Emperor of Creation) during that scene. In the actual dubbing, and while it was myself who decided on it, the moment the music played I excitedly went “Boku Akashi kitaaa—-!!!” (laughs). I think it was a super cool scene and one with a great tempo. I think the part to look forward to with Akashi is definitely that both Akashis will come out during the match.”

Director’s Eye Re: Nash

“To put it frankly, I didn’t have much planned for Nash before we started recording except for the note that he’s the strongest enemy. However, the acting of Mr. Midorikawa (Hikaru) was so wonderful that I got heavily involved in the film processing and the animation to show Nash more charmingly. I think rather than at first sight…. You’ll be able to tell his superior coolness akin to that of the main characters if you watch it two or three more times. In the end though, Nash is of a standing as the enemy of the Vorpal Swords but he’s also an important character who clashes with Akashi, the playmaker. Also, the new music created for the movie was primarily created around/for Nash and the others so when you hear the music being played, you kind of feel the fear that Nash is out to get the Vorpal Swords again. Music-wise, I feel pretty accomplished.”

YEEEEEEEE. I came here for the Nash vs. Akashi and stayed for the interview. IDK, it’s always so interesting to read how the staff and cast feel about the characters and how they felt while creating the movie because god did the movie give me feels.

It’s funny though because Director Tada is obsessed with Nash vs. Akashi (AHH it was great) and he said that we’ll get to read about that more in the cast comment give-away for the 7th week of the movie. I’m excited! Though I will go out of country on May…. I may be able to watch it one or two more times before leaving (;w; ).

BTW, I love the spread with both of their “4” being visible on purpose. The black and white differentiation and the demon king vs the emperor… (*A* )
