I honestly can’t even comprehend the talent in Sophia Lucia. She is beyond what I’ve ever expected from her. The first performance I watched of hers, I knew she was going to continue to do amazing things but I never would’ve imagined she would turn out the way she did. I have endless respect for that kid, she hasn’t even trained in ballet seriously for a year and she’s already dominating all the prestigious ballet competitions and exceeding skill level that ballerinas who have been training all their life haven’t achieved. She obviously is very naturally talented, but that can only go so far. That kid works day in and day out because dance is truly the way she lives. She has so many goals she wants to reach and will stop at nothing to achieve them. Her work ethic is insane, I’ve never seen someone improve year after year as much as she has. Each year I watch her I think “she can’t get any better”, and each year she proves me wrong. And my favourite thing is, she didn’t take the easy way out. She could’ve easily just stuck to being a competition kid and dominated, winning title after title, but she clearly has something more in mind. She doesn’t care about the glitz and glamour or the fame. She truly has a strong passion to work on her craft and become a ballerina and I couldn’t be more proud. It’s crazy she’s only 13 because to me she dances and carries herself like an adult. I think even if she isn’t your favourite dancer to watch, you can’t deny her crazy talent and amazing work ethic. Sophia is going places. She is going to be even more successful when she’s older than she already is, and I’m so glad we all get to see her grow and develop as a dancer.

this just in: i outgrew my god awful fashion sense but not my love for all things pokemon

you know who i’m so grateful for? amy santiago

  • firstly, she isn’t stereotyped at all but her culture isn’t ignored
  • despite her rule following and sucking up to her superiors she’s never been a killjoy and ruined things for the rest of the squad
  • she’s always been portrayed very much as jake’s equal, even though they’re so different, they’re still both super good at their jobs
  • she’s never just been a love interest, the show has given story lines outside of her relationship with jake and she has been allowed to grow and develop friendships with the other characters
  • her character development has been amazing. she was so concerned with impressing holt in s1 and now in s3 she’s become so great at standing up to him and making sure that he respects her as much as she respects him
  • she’s also become a lot more chill, without becoming, y’know, actually chill, probably thanks to her friendship/sister-in-law-hood with gina
  • she proves that you can be a nerd and be badass
  • she’s a disastrous chef and she doesn’t think that putting eIGHTEEN CUPS OF OREGANO in cooking is at all weird, what a dork
  • she outsmarted both jake and holt when they underestimated her also rosa called her an evil genius (because she fucking could be, okay)
  • she’s also really adorable and sometimes i find myself getting distracted by how pretty her face is
