Tada! This is for all the wonderful readers who liked, reblogged, and asked me
to make a part 2. And I’m just here to say… you guys are very naughty people
with very dirty minds and should be ashamed of yourselves lol. Enjoy and Happy
watched as Yoongi exited the bedroom, leaving you there naked and stupefied.
Seconds later, after coming to your senses, you jumped up and put on one of
Tae’s large shirts. The sweater you originally were going to put on lay on the
floor where you left it the moment Yoongi came in. You could hear Tae getting
closer to the room as he laughed and joked with Jungkook. You quickly searched
for you panties but couldn’t locate them. It was then that you remembered
Yoongi was last seen holding them in his hand. Your pussy tightened and your
body quivered at the memory. Despite the situation and the trouble you were now
in, you could help but bask in the past of what just happened.
suri has level 10 of charisma already and i’m working on the aspiration rn (she’s on milestone 3). i still have a loong way to go w/ the career though, last i played she had just gone to her first day of work sdfkldsm rip
should i read kavalier & clay or a little life first?? i know they’re both gonna be essential/lifechanging/brutal but like which one would be good for this Moment ? i trust u
this question is hilarious because i found myself typing “if you want a lighter read, go with kavalier & clay” which fkljdsalkfjlsdjfklds is an insane thing to say about k&c, and yet it definitely is the lighter of the two.
so. hmm. you know, i’m sure, that they both deal with extremely traumatizing subjects. k&c arcs more toward hope, although it would be incorrect to say that it has a truly happy ending in the conventional sense. a little life, on the other hand, isn’t concerned at all with a redemptive arc, and is more meant to illustrate the lifelong, enduring impact of childhood abuse.
i guess the better way to compare them would be in terms of what they offer stylistically. because as much as both of these stories are deep and rich and satisfying, i really treasure them for how they make use of language.
michael chabon is really giving us an alternate history more than a character study - like, the characters are compelling and complicated, but they are very much designed to reflect the times they live in and to further this broader historical narrative. it’s a story about these three people, but it’s also about the oppression of jewish people and the oppression of women and the oppression of gay people. and the story is meant to show us those three distinct social forces coming down on these characters’ heads. (it’s also one of the rare stories that allows a gay character’s storyline to unspool in a way that is natural and unforced and deeply, deeply satisfying to read). if you want to understand how to tell a story about marginalized people rather than a story about marginalization, if you want a master class in soaking your story in historical context without overwhelming the characters, read kavalier & clay.
hanya yanagihara, on the other hand, is using the style and diction of comtemporary prestige fiction to tell a fairy tale. it is a fucking astonishing balancing act - to see these outlandish, maudlin storytelling conventions grounded by simple prose and this unflinching focus on fine, realistic detail. she takes the absolute worst of humanity, the most extreme of lows, and balances all of it against the highest of highs: unconditional devotion from a chosen family, romantic love so strong that it unworks decades of abuse and betrayal, you and all of your friends succeeding in your chosen careers beyond your wildest dreams. in the hands of anyone but a supremely talented author, it wouldn’t work. but she pulls it off because every extraordinary event feels ordinary, fully human. there are no fancy linguistic bells and whistles. (a few months ago, i tried to write a parody of her writing style and i was shocked by how… simple it was. how short the words were. how much she’s able to bleed out of a line like, “it’s so sad, and yet we all do it.”)
What did you think about the children of Canto Bight, their symbolism and the fact that the very Last shot of the movie is with one of them, forcé sensitive? (Resending in case it did not work out the first time, connection issues)
I think it’s Rian’s attempt at being “hopeful.” To me it was a little cheesy, tbh. But that movie was depressing and I think that scene was meant to help kids feel better about the ending.
Ooh, could you do a fic where Valor is caught by the Jedi and the reader taunts him for being so easily captured and it really riles him up? But it turns out he let himself get caught and escapes, and the reader knows he’s coming for her to show her who’s really in control
I hope y’all like this! Let me know what you think. (A/N: Darth Valor is my name for Sith!Obi-Wan) .
You were one of the newer knights at the temple, which meant that, often, you would find yourself lucky enough to be on guard duty. Lucky is, of course, not truly the word that described it. Really, it was just you pacing the halls of the prison ward, humming to yourself and trying to think of anything to cure your insane boredom.
I'm conflicted 😫 Yg IS trying to at least be civil, even if it's just business wise, right? He meant good, but boy, do I hate when you feel pressured to do sth; it usually ends up being so awkward afterwards. And mixed signals if unintentional are ok, it just royally sucks Jm was expecting more. Would hate to be him and get those msgs 😑 I feel like he's slowly coming to terms with Yg not being on the same page, but then sth happens and unconsciously goes back to hoping and wondering "what if"
yes! it seems like progress from yoongi’s side and you can tell jimin’s not sure what’s happening either but he doesn’t want to hope for something when nothings there or vice versa. the real question now is who’s going to step up first and just ask what the hell is going up between them
CAN I HAVE UHHHH FUCKIN BADASS LANCE PLEASE btw your blog actually gives me butterflies thank for being grate
ohhh thank you so much :’)
when lance shoots a couple of galra soldiers in rapid succession he always grins and blows away invisible smoke from his gun. the team are secretly impressed but make a big show of rolling their eyes
he can shoot multiple fast-moving targets
shiro: ‘ok team, the galra on this base are going to try and stop us’ lance: ‘ha. they can try’
lance kicks down a drone running towards him and with his foot on its chest, shoots it point-blank
keith, who has been pining hard for almost 780 years now: ‘oh wow’ allura: ‘settle down keith’
he balances his sniper rifle on his shoulders
lance’s bayard transforming into two pistols so he can dual-wield
pidge is trying to shoot a couple of galra sentries while in the green lion but lance swoops in and takes them all out with one blast
when a situation is important, he loses his usual joking complaining attitude and becomes completely serious, brows furrowed and jaw set
lance: ‘wanna see me land a head-shot on the training bot from 50 feet?’ keith: ‘haha yeah ok’
lance breathing in deeply and shooting it: ‘just like that’ keith wiping sweat from his brow: ‘hoo boy….’
the red lion is a lot faster than blue was, so once lance gets the hang of his speed, he can dodge blasts with ease and take out more sentries than anyone on the team
allura: ‘i need someone strategic and level-headed for this mission. pidge-’ lance: ‘i’m your man allura’
allura: ‘are you sure?’ lance: ‘for once, just trust me’
when he lands a shot with his sniper-rifle that even he wasn’t sure he could do, he always lets out a long low whistle
the team are freaking out because a lion has been captured, but lance clenches his fists and raises his voice over their shouting
lance: ‘listen to me. this is how we’re gonna get it back.’
he’s really good at strategy and planning and shiro always enlists his help in making plans to defeat the galra
lance says casually ‘hunk, move your head to the left’ before taking down a drone over his shoulder with one clean shot
lance is happy with red and he misses blue, but he also wants more because he knows he can offer something else to the team. one day, he’s arguing with keith in the black lion’s hangar about the team’s future
keith: ‘if what you’re saying about shiro is true, then i don’t- i don’t know what to do. if something happened to me, who would even pilot black?’ lance: ‘you’re looking right at him’

We’re always going to be the kids from the Isle. I tried to forget it. I really tried, but those are our roots. And we all did what we had to do to survive. But it made us who we are. And we’re never gonna be like anybody else here, and that’s okay. [requested by anonymous]
