Mamo: It’s embarrassiiiiiing… Aaah… Will I be okay with this plan? Aaaaaah! *laughs* Do your best Mamo! From Rei-san, the words I’d like Mamota Claus to say: “It’s cold outside, isn’t it? Shall we hold hands?”. It goes like this. *laughs*
i was asked to do a tutorial on how i make my icons by anonymous, so here’s my super easy way of doing it. there’s no major editing or backgrounds simply because i’m super lazy and i prefer the look of clean, bright icons. i’ve only ever used this method on cartoons (voltron. i’ve only ever made voltron icons lol), so i can’t say for sure whether this method would work well with real people. just keep that in mind!
for some examples of what you can make, here’s my icons page.
please like/reblog if you try it out, and feel free to ask me any questions.
Since UB has gone down one too many times, I moved and updated my care sheet (9/2015). As always, it is forever under construction, because with animal husbandry, there is always more to learn, as we always learn more and grow in our care.
I loved the idea of Ivan letting Gilbert think he forgot his birthday, and sending him an anonymous gift as a surprise (with a little letter inside). As a revenge, Gilbert would make him thinks he’s upset…
I loved the idea of the text conversation, and since I was too lazy/busy to draw the whole “story”, and that I’m not a writer, I thought it would be perfect for it…
Well, I had a lot of troubles to do proper texts, and now that I read it like that, it sounds really silly ><
hey why should i watch dirk gently convince me ∠( ᐛ 」∠)＿
I am glad you asked, this is a perfect opportunity for me to explain why i love this series so much!
So first of all: Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency is about a detective who doesn’t really investigate, at least not in the way we know from various detective shows. He’s also very incompetent at his job, which is why he drags Todd Brotzman (i still call him ‘frodo with short hair and beard’ because he is played by Elijah Wood) into this mess of a case. Let’s just say Todd is not all too happy about that. Why, you ask? You will see if you watch it.
Saying this show is weird would be an understatement (it’s science-fiction and based on a novel by Douglas Adams, what did you expect?), but it will all make sense because like Dirk says: everything is connected! Seriously, i watched it seven times already and still find little details that make a lot more sense when you know the ending. It is so well thought through and I encourage everyone to watch it at least twice since it’s so much fun to figure all the stuff out that didn’t make sense before.
The first season (the only one that is out yet) has just 8 episodes which go 42 minutes each, you could binge-watch it through in less than a day. All of them are on Netflix (Unless you live in america i think. Don’t really know though, I’m from Germany.. but i can probably help if you don’t know where to watch it, just message me privately and I see what I can do)
I have a lot of reasons why I personally watch this series (even more than once). The few I always include when making a list are amazing POC characters that are plot relevant (and not just squeezed in there so they can say they have a POC character), a kitten, a corgi, women that are not sexualized, crying men, brightly colored leather jackets and that nobody knows what’s going on, not even the characters in the show itself. Oh and it is hilarious!
I hope I didn’t forget anything and convinced you to give Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency at least a try. Thank you again for asking :)
aight I did not see this spiraling into mini-drama here but I’m going to try to say something because I get how awful feeling inferior is. Making comparisons can be difficult to avoid when you do not have very much confidence or especially when you feel as if you are not doing as well as you should be and are letting people down (this is cliche but everyone grows at different paces and regardless of progress you are loved). This obsessive comparing is extremely tolling on you and not worth the energy at all. As long as you are not adamant towards recovering like I was for the past few years, things will get better (or not as bad as it usually is). It’s not hopeless, I promise. There are people who do want you to feel your best and help you every step of the way and I hope you all have or will find at least one person like this in your lives.
That being said, this whole big blog/small blog thing should not matter because like dailyflygon said, we’re just a bunch of nerds drawing the Pokemon we love. My inferiority issues do lead me to assume ridiculous things like someone being more popular means that they’re obnoxious and exclude others unlike them, but I don’t get that with this community, even as a small, inactive, blog that is lacking in interaction (due to shyness). I’ve never considered myself a part of any communities before, but this one is extremely supportive and I want to at least protect that.
tl;dr It’s okay to feel down. We cannot control how we react to things, but we should not act on those feelings in a way that causes stress for others either. Instead, find a way to lift yourself back up without hurting yourself or anyone else.
AU Prompt: I walked into this restaurant and you thought I was your blind date and I just kind of went with it because I don’t want to eat alone.
Dan sat at the table checking his phone. Thirty-one minutes late now. Maybe he wouldn’t
be coming after all. That’s what he gets for letting his best friend, Dennis,
set him up on a blind date with his cousin’s friend’s brother’s neighbor, or
whatever their relationship was. Thinking about it now, Dan figures he should
have asked for a picture or phone number because all he knew about his date was
that he was tall and had blue eyes. They were supposed to meet for lunch though
now it was more mid-afternoon and all Dan had was a glass of water and a
feeling of pathetic loneliness in his stomach. He stopped picking his head up
every time the café shop door opened figuring it wasn’t worth his time. Taking
out his phone, Dan stood up to leave and texted Dennis telling him that the
date is off and that he would owe Dan lunch.
“Oh, sorry,” a voice said interrupted Dan’s thoughts.
