I am so scared to meet Levi again and see the man he has become after 4 years. I do not want him to go on well with the recruits, they do not deserve his time, not after the way they treated him. :( I hope he has turned into a darker character.

I’d be lying if I didn’t admit to having similar thoughts Anon.  I’m really apprehensive about the next chapters.  I mean obviously I’m desperate to see Levi again, to find out what he’s been doing for the last four years, but still…. I can’t say I’m too thrilled by this subproduct of titan science business, that has all sorts of potential to go horribly wrong.

I’m trying to hold out hope though.  Yams plot and pacing may leave us shaking our heads, or yelling incoherently at our screens but, Ymir aside, he’s been relatively consistent when it comes to characterization.  So I’m hoping that when we see Levi again, he’ll be the same miserable bastard that we’ve grown to know and love.

As far as getting on with the remnants of the 104th goes, I think that if Levi is still a captain of the Survey Corps and they are still his soldiers, then he will continue to treat them as subordinates.   Whether they respond as such and respect the chain of command is anyone’s guess. I don’t expect Levi to treat them with kid gloves, and we’ve already seen that.

But at the same time, Levi is not a cruel man.

One of the things that has always fascinated me about Levi is that he is such a mess of contradictions.  He has an innate capacity for violence and will not hesitate to use it, but at the same time, he is defined by his loyal and compassion. Levi has consistently been one of the most selfless characters in the series.  He isn’t motivated by a personal dream or goal, but by his relationship to other people.  Perhaps it’s all part of the Ackerman thing, but if so, it manifests very differently in the three Ackermans we’ve seen.  The loyalty is always there for sure, but much as I love Kenny, compassion and selflessness were hardly his thing. For the sake of avoiding drama, I’d rather not comment on the other Ackerman.

So I think the darkness has always been there in Levi’s character, but it’s been tempered by his compassion and selflessness, and to be honest I’m not sure if I expect that to change, unless someone or something prevents him from fulfilling his vow to Erwin.  If that does happen then all bets are off.

Of course having said all that, if Levi appears in the next chapter with his hair tied back and “Erwin Smith – Flame of Hope” tattooed across his chest, I’ll forgive Yams everything :P

Langst Mini Fic #3 (Part 1)

Idea: Emotional Imbalance

“Pardon me but I have a question about your Blue Paladin…was he…a victim of torture?”

Allura and Shiro both stopped their movements when they heard the question. They both stiffened from where they were sitting when the question finally registered in their minds. Why would he ask something like that?

They landed on a planet that the Paladins dubbed as the alien version of “Avatar”. Hunk briefly explained to Allura that back in their home there was this show that centers about people that could control elements like water, earth, fire and air. This was their reasons why they gave such name for the latest planet they were trying to talk to an alliance. The people of this planet embodies the elements found in their homeland. Some were made of the four basic elements of Earth while others were new for the Paladins. Just like now, Allura and Shiro were talking to General Neal and his body was formed in a stalagmite structure but with a lava coloring.

“May I ask why you think so, General?” ever the diplomatic, Allura stole a glance to Shiro before shifting her attention back to the General.

“I’m sorry, I know my question is quite offensive but we do need to consider the mentality of your soldiers. We have previous experience about unattended situation concerning mental health.”

Shiro’s eyes became guarded when this was said. They never truly tackled the topic of mental and emotional health when they became Paladins. Heck, even him that was considered the Voltron leader always try his best to forget his obvious PTSD (something that was very difficult to do in the first place).

“I assure you General Neal that our Blue Paladin is in perfect health, mentally and physically speaking.” Shiro intervened for Allura’s sake. Though deep down he knew that there was something wrong with Lance. It was not glaringly obvious, it was more like a hunch in Shiro’s part and he has no concrete evidence for what he was feeling. For all of them, Lance seems to be happily content to where he was and whatever he was doing.

“Are you telling me that the Blue Paladin is always so cheerful? I haven’t even seen or heard him snapped on the little ones and trust me, even the kindest of us can get angry towards the unruly little ones.”

“Yes,” Allura smiled when she remembered how they, she supposed children, flocked around Lance and her Paladin gave them the attention they wanted from him, “he is always like that.”

“I hope you are not lying to me, Princess Allura. We have a case before where our people who had been victim of slavery forget that they can cry or even be angry.” General Neal stood up and walked towards the glass window where he could safely gaze down on the other Paladins. His eyes specifically landed on the subject of his question. There was something about the Blue Paladin that rubbed him the wrong way. Not the wrong way that the Paladin might be an enemy but more like a child who was trying to be brave even if in reality they were really scared. “I really hope you are not lying.” the General repeated again when he saw the little ones accidentally caught the Blue Paladin’s hair on fire.

-/-

Pidge knew that there was something wrong with Lance. But this knowledge was more like a gut feeling and Pidge’s logical mind could not accept such thing as ‘gut feeling’. They needed concrete evidence, quiznack they might even do the scientific process just to get a sliver of science on what was happening on Lance. No human could be so content to what they have especially if you were a human stuck in space.

Yes, Pidge knew that Lance was the type of person that needed physical effection. Something that Pidge could not really give without snapping or being high with emotions. Pidge knew that only Hunk and Coran (or even the mice) could satisfy even for a bit the physical cravings Lance sometimes needed. But as the team progress the busier each of them get and the more Lance was left by himself.

Lance could not even spar with Keith without making things awkward between them. Well, it was awkward for Keith while Lance was just plainly confused on why the Red Paladin was acting so uncomfortably whenever he was around. The reason might be what happened a week ago when Keith just exploded and the first person he lashed out to was Lance. Shiro tried to mediate but Keith was a ball of fire and Lance might be the only one to get him snapped out of it (based on the theory between water and fire, Pidge supplied in their mind). Lance just stared at them and when it became obvious that Keith has nothing more to say he beamed happily towards them and said:

“So that is where I am wrong! Do you mind showing me how it works?”

The rest of them was dumbfounded after Lance said it. The words was said with a blindingly happy smile that Pidge was tempted to put shades to protect their eyes.

Keith turned tomato red. Maybe it was because, for once, Lance kept a level head. Maybe it was because he just realized what he had done. Maybe it was because he knew he was in the wrong. Whatever it was, it made Keith to be even more awkward than before when it comes to Lance.

Jongin’s POV

I was walking pretty fast but this girl has been following me for at least 15 minutes. What is she doing in this part of town anyway? I stopped and turned around. She seemed startled but still kept her stance. I looked at her with the deadliest glare I could muster.

“What do you want?” I finally asked.

“What do you want?” she retorted. “I’m just walking by.”

“Really? Here? In the middle of the night? In this part of the city?” I mocked her.

“It’s none of your business. I live here,” she said, brushing past me. I grabbed her by the arm.

“Were you following me?” I straight up asked her.

“Who would want to follow a creep like you,” she said, freeing herself. She hurried down the street, glancing at me every so often. I probably scared her too much. It still seemed somehow unnatural to me that we met here at this hour, so it was my turn to go after her. I took the same corner she did and watched her go inside one of the buildings. It was abandoned though and suspiciously close to our base. I went inside and looked around, I couldn’t see her anywhere. Maybe she just used this house to get around me? I noticed something on the floor and picked it up. It was a student ID card. Am I becoming paranoid or did she leave this here on purpose?  I took out my phone and called Junmyeon, just in case.

“What?” he asked as soon as he picked up. He seemed irritated.

“Do you know a girl that goes by Y/N Y/L/N?”

“Never heard of her,” he said, ordering someone around off phone. “Why?”

“I saw her sneaking around,” some loud shots could be heard, followed by more of his shouting. “Where are you?” I asked.

“We ran into some trouble. Can’t talk.”

“Do you need help?” I was about to ask but he already hung up. Guess I will have to look into her myself.

Your POV

You were standing near your dorm, searching through your bag for the third time but by now you were sure you lost it again, at a place like that no less. You were happy you even managed to get into this squad but if you keep losing your stuff, you will never get to go on patrols again. Your roommate can’t find out about this but breaking into police academy dorms is also not a very clever option. You looked at your clock, it was almost morning anyway, the café half an hour walk away works all night, you should wait there. Thank god you at least managed to get rid of that guy, you had to take the long walk home, thinking he might jump out of the shadows any second. You ordered a coffee and sat down in one of the corner tables. You had to come up with a new lie to tell your roommate. You were sipping your drink slowly, spacing out a bit when somebody else walked in. You almost spit your coffee out when you saw that it’s the same man from before. You had to hide. You quickly took the menu and opened it, so he wouldn’t see your face. The man came up to the counter.

“Have you seen this girl?” he asked, giving the barista your ID card. The girl looked at you but you shook your head.

“Please, don’t sell me out,” you thought when somebody lowered the menu from your face.

“Hello beautiful,” the man said. “Fancy meeting you here. I need you to come with me,” he lifted you up by the arm and took you outside. Still holding on to you, he started walking.

“No need to panic. Yet. I just want to talk.”

“Then let’s talk here,” you said, shoving his hand away.  You wanted to take your taser out but remembered you’re not even wearing your uniform.

“I believe this is yours,” he smirked, handing you your card. “Miss Police Officer.”

“Y/N!” somebody shouted, probably saving you from whatever that man was about to do. You turned around. Great. It was your roommate. His eyes widened when he saw who you’re talking to and he took his gun out.

“Whoa whoa, I mean not trouble. As always,” the man laughed.

“Yeah right,” Sehun hissed. “You’re lucky I can’t shoot you here.”

“So scary,” he scoffed and turned to you. “I hope you weren’t lying that time because if you were…”

“So what if I was?” you asked. “You think I’m afraid of you?”

“Not yet,” he laughed. “See you later Sehunie.”

“Jongin!” Sehun shouted but the man just waved you goodbye and turned around and went to one of the cars parked nearby. You watched him disappear down the street. Only then did Sehun put his gun away.

“What are you doing, talking with the likes of him?” he asked you.

“I don’t even know him. I met him by accident,” you tried to explain yourself.

“Don’t even know him? Did nobody tell you about the gang that has been causing trouble around the city? I have no idea how we never managed to get enough evidence to arrest them.”

“I have heard of them, so what?”

“He’s one of them.”

“You have got to be kidding me.”

Jongin’s POV

I got inside my car, barely able to control my excitement. Finding out who she is was so easy but if she’s associated with Sehun and his group this will be even more fun. Even if meeting her was an accident, even if she wasn’t following me, this could be a great pretext to interrogate her for information they have on us. She tried looking tough but she would break eventually, everyone does. I just have to wait for others to come back from their mission. I wonder how close she and Sehun are though. If I could get him angry again maybe he would show me what he’s capable of. The thought of seeing him fight or even better fighting him myself made me extremely happy. All I need now is the girl.

Look Into My Eyes

Pairings: Dean x sister!Reader, Sam x sister!Reader

Word Count: 1.7k

Warnings: Angst, jealousy, drinking, swearing, kind of stalking (you’ll see), death of a major character

A/N: This is my entry for @thing-you-do-with-that-thing’s Danish Artists Challenge! This one was very different for me; it’s written in third person, and it’s a Winchesters x sister!Reader, which is something I haven’t really done before. However, I really enjoyed writing it, and I hope you enjoy it too! The fic was inspired by the song. I chose not to put the lyrics in because I felt that it didn’t really work well.

Prompt: Look Into My Eyes: Outlandish

x

Dean found out that he had a little sister when he was 32. Dad was gone and Dean had finally brought himself to read the last few pages of his journal.

Once he read those words, he sprinted off to find Sammy at the library, shoving the leather-bound book in his face. “Look at what I just found,” Dean said to his younger brother.

Sam’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he took the notebook from Dean’s hands. His eyes scanned over the words, realization crossing his face as he read.

The case they were supposed to be working on was set on the back burner for a moment.

“We have a little sister,” Sam said in disbelief. His head turned towards Dean, his eyes as wide as saucers.

“Looks like you’re a big brother, Sammy,” Dean said, ruffling the younger man’s hair.

“It’s Sam,” he grumbled, fixing his hair. “We are going to find her, right?”

Dean sits down across from his brother, “Hell yeah we are.”

Sam smiles at his brother and Dean smiles back.

They were going to find their baby sister.

Bucket list

Damon x reader

Damon was startled to see a girl lying in the middle of the road. He has some company he thought.

“Hi,” he said

“Hi,” you replied in a proud voice

“I hope you wont mind if i join you.” He said while lying beside you. You smiled he clearly didn’t care if you’d mind or not.

“No, I won’t”

“So are you new in here?”

“Yes, I am on my holidays. What are you doing here?”

“The same thing you’re doing.“

“And what am I doing?” You asked him challengingly.

“To get something to eat.” You laughed at his reply.

“Okay, then you’ll get me something to eat.”

“Sure.”

“You didn’t tell me your name?”

“Damon.”

“Y/N”

You were both lying in the middle of the road staring in each other’s eyes instead of stars. Those blue eyes were so dark that you could get lost into them. And he knew your Y/E/C eyes were so bright that he could find himself in them. He was now listening to your heartbeat. It was calm. He realized that you’re not what he thought you are.

“So, what were you doing here?”

“Umm, nothing just looking at the stars in the middle of the road, ticking some goals off my bucket list. And you?”

“Nothing.”

He heard a car coming, he realized that it was fast and if you’re human you’ll not be able to run when you’ll hear it.

You were looking at each other, it was something you never felt before. He was dark, mysterious, and…

The next moment you were in his arms at the side of the road with the speed of light. You realized that he saved your life.

Now, your heartbeat was fast but your face was still calm, you were not afraid of him. Of whatever he was. For you, he was a hero.

You closed your eyes and your lips met. It was a feeling you couldn’t describe. It was a feeling you’ve never known. And you knew, you will never know it again.

When your lips parted and you opened your eyes. He was looking at you. “You will not remember anything from tonight. We never met. Nothing special happened tonight”

He knew you were beautiful inside and out. You deserved the world and not a monster like him. You were innocent and he was everything opposite of what you were.

And the moment you blinked, he was gone. You were there at the side of the road alone.

NDRV3 Boys With an S/O That Caught the Despair Disease

I tried to make each boy suffer with an S/O that had a different Despair Disease, so hopefully it’s not toooo confusing. Had to take a few liberties with the diseases, especially Momota’s, but I hope it’s good nonetheless! Done by Mod Iruma.

SAIHARA SHUICHI (Lying Disease)

  • He figures out extremely quickly that his S/O is infected; but that doesn’t deter him from spending time with you at all.
  • You’re very grateful when he brings in some homemade tomato soup while you’re stuck in the hospital.
  • Doesn’t stop your heart from breaking when the despair disease forces you to say that you don’t want the soup.
  • At first, Saihara is crestfallen, but seems to scrape together some confidence as he asks again, pushing the soup towards you.
  • The despair disease forces you to sneer that you never thought his homemade soup was good anyway, but you gratefully lap it up despite your words.
  • Saihara’s caught on. He’s not the Ultimate Detective for nothing. If anything, he almost seems… flattered at your words.
  • You’re glad he knows you’re just Ouma Kokichi-ing for a while now, and you give him a great big smile as you tell him his soup was the absolute worst soup you’ve ever had the displeasure of tasting.
  • He shifts his hat over his face to shadow his blush.

AMAMI RANTAROU (Pain/Pleasure Swap Disease)

  • You have to appreciate your boyfriend’s sense of humor, despite the situation. He’s been walking with you around the hospital the whole day, almost babying you.
  • “S/O, you okay? You need anything? Hey, don’t go banging into the wall, c’mon. We’ll be late for lunch—”
  • He figures out what your disease does when he lovingly gives you a headpat and you wince in pain.
  • The second the whimper leaves your mouth he jerks his hand back and starts to sheepishly apologize.
  • You shake your head and say that it wasn’t his fault, he shouldn’t be sorry, you should be the one sorry…
  • But then he crosses his arms and says he should’ve been more observant, he’s a bad boyfriend…
  • The incredibly weird argument continues until Amami accidentally steps on your foot, and you let out a sigh of complete bliss.
  • There’s a pause, and the two of you stare at one another.
  • The argument over who should be apologizing continues anew (even if the two of you come to an agreement to keep touching to a minimum until the disease is cured).

OUMA KOKICHI (Gullible Disease)

  • When you’re forced into the hospital for catching the disease, Ouma’s already in your hospital room before you are.
  • He bombards you with questions about your condition, sneaking a few unrelated questions in there, until you’re tired enough you stop responding.
  • “Ugh, with that personality, you’ve gotta be the Ultimate Emo Teenager.”
  • “I see, Ouma-kun! I didn’t even know that about myself!”
  • He blinks, but then explodes in laughter after he realizes what your disease is.
  • Even though the disease is clouding your mind, you’re already filled with such utter despair when you realize what’s going to happen next.
  • After an hour passes, you’re 1000% confident that you were born on Mars and came to this planet to serve Ouma Kokichi by making him breakfast every morning and also giving Momota a wedgie whenever he walked by, and also, whenever Ouma snaps his fingers you drop down onto the floor and do the worm because you were descended from them.
  • Even after the despair disease passes, some of what Ouma made you believe still exists in remnants. You shiver every time Ouma’s fingers look like they’re about to snap.

MOMOTA KAITO (Supervillain Disease)

  • He’s very confused when he barges into your room, intending to ask where his jacket is, and he finds it immediately.
  • Because you’re using it as a flag for your evil fort that you made.
  • “Nishishishi! I’m the evil supervillain, Poison Ghost!”
  • At first, he starts screaming for Ouma to show himself. But when you poke your head out, face all flushed from the despair disease, he… sort of understands.
  • You think he does, at least. Because he starts screaming that a ghost possessed you and made you a supervillain.
  • You wave a stick at him and tell him to begone, lest you destroy him using your dastardly supervillain powers!
  • He meekly nods and tip-toes over to the flag, but your stick hits him in time.
  • “Fool…! That’s the flag for the Ghost Gorge, my evil fort! Don’t take it!”
  • He splutters something about how unfair you’re being, and you want to agree and get out of this fort. Unfortunately, the despair disease is the boss of you right now.
  • …disease-you and normal-you seem to come to some sort of agreement, and say that Momota can have his jacket back if he joins the ranks of the Poison Ghost’s evil army!
  • Now, Momota can deal with many things. He can deal with bullies. He can deal with punching bags. He can evil deal with you.
  • But he can’t deal with ghosts, so he shrieks out a yes and tumbles into the fort. You’re pleased.
  • He doesn’t seem to be too pleased after he notices that Saihara and Iruma are both tied up in the back of the fort, duct tape over their mouths.

HOSHI RYOMA (Oblivious Disease)

  • He figured you had the despair disease after he caught you when you accidentally walked off a roof.
  • When he was giving you a lecture on why you have to be careful because you got the Oblivious Disease, you almost got impaled on a ceremonial sword before Hoshi jerked you away.
  • He let out a discontented sigh, but resigned himself to sticking with you so you don’t “go and kill yourself out of stupidity”.
  • You don’t mind him being your personal bodyguard; he’s saved you from certain death about 30 times now
  • Even when the two of you rest in the hospital bed for the night, you can still tell he’s awake, ready to prevent you from trying to die in your sleep
  • -”Hoshi-kun… why are you so determined to protect me?”
  • He chuckles and pats your back.
  • “You’ve already saved my life by giving it meaning, kiddo. I’m just returning the favor.”

SHINGUUJI KOREKIYO (Hot Disease)

  • Shinguuji figured something was amiss when you complained the temperature was wayyy too hot.
  • He furrowed his brow and looked at the thermometer. It’s below freezing outside.
  • Despite your clear delusionalness, Shinguuji sighs and grabs a fan from the other room.
  • A paper fan.
  • Unfortunately, Shinguuji’s impressive paper fan skills do nothing to cool you down.
  • “Hey, Shinguuji-kun… could you turn on the air conditioner?”
  • His eyes practically bulge out
  • “No, no. I’m positive… you’ll cool down with this fan…”
  • You try to tell him that maybe a mechanical fan would be better, but he doesn’t care.
  • You spend the entire day dying of heat, pouring freezing water all over yourself, as Korekiyo lazily fans you and tells you stories about arctic voyages.
  • …You still wish he turned on the air conditioning, though.

GOKUHARA GONTA (Horny Disease)

  • “S/O…? Are you okay? Gonta’s worried.”
  • You nodded as you continued to sit in Gonta’s lap and play with his shirt, tugging at it.
  • Gonta giggled and took it and his vest off, but before you could pounce (as the disease wanted you to), he put them on you.
  • You looked at Gonta with a deadpan expression. He was just happy that you liked his shirt enough that the two of you could share!
  • Whatever. You just leaned into his chest, purring at the muscles. He happily laughed and patted you on the back.
  • “I think that shirt looks very good on you! It’s a little big, though…”
  • An idea comes to mind. You smirk.
  • “Hey, Gonta-kun… y’know… I think your pants would look even BETTER on me!”
  • Gonta actually flushes at that., and does his best to deter you by saying it would be very ungentlemanly for his pants to be off! He loves you, but he can’t just take it OFF!
  • You pout, and resign yourself to rubbing against Gonta’s legs and chest. He doesn’t notice.

KIIBO (DESPAIR Disease)

  • Kiibo learns about your despair disease when you suddenly start shrieking from the other room about the gloriousness of despair.
  • He runs into the room to find the room half destroyed, the window smashed, and his S/O laughing hysterically on the unmade bed.
  • “LOVELOVELOVELOVE—”
  • Kiibo screams in horror and jumps on you, using his “strong-old-man” strength to pin you onto the bed. You’re still raving mad.
  • “S/O, this is clearly not you…! Please, snap out of it!”
  • The despair disease forces you to scream out a negative and begin ranting about how you’re going to kill everyone.
  • Kiibo tries to stop you, but the despair disease pushes your strength beyond a strong old man and you begin to make a dash towards the door, knife in hand.
  • “W-W-W-WAIT…!! Instead of killing anyone, um, how about you just… talk bad about me for a few hours…?”
  • You pause and look back at him. He’s trembling. You smile.
  • Akamatsu finds you two five hours later, you slinging pretty awful insults at him about being a robot the entire time
  • (You can’t apologize to Kiibo enough after. He’s just happy that you didn’t go out and murder anyone.)
#8 - “I mean, there’s no way you could be Spider-Man, right?” PART TWO (Peter Parker x Reader)

Summary: You make an attempt to guilt-trip your boyfriend into telling you the truth about his superhero identity after he lied to you about it last week. What happens next is meta.

Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader

Requested: Yep!

Warnings: Guilt-tripping, mentions to guilt.

A/N: I am so glad you guys liked the first part to this imagine. I had so much fun writing it, as I did with this second part, so I hope you love this one just as much!

********************

PART ONE

Peter flicks through his chemistry textbook as you lie watching the television in front of you. You feel as though he’s only here to say that he’s seen you, and perhaps that’s your fault. Ever since you were discharged from hospital, things have just been difficult for you. You’ve been told you can’t go back to school until the doctor tells you it’s okay to do so, and your parents have pretty much put you under house arrest. It makes seeing Peter and your friends a little more difficult, and it gives you way too much time to think; time to think about all of the little white lies Peter has told you in the past; time to think about how you knew there was something fishy was going on but you were too much of a push-over to call him out for it; time to think about how your boyfriend used your injury and fear to manipulate you into believing you “imagined” things.

You’re struggling to forgive him for lying to you, but the problem is, he doesn’t know that you know he’s lying to you. And even if you told him you know, he would yet again tell you you’re just confused, shooting you down once again. You don’t know much about relationships and how they’re supposed to work, but you’re sure this isn’t it.

“…do you think Spider-Man has a girlfriend?” You suddenly question, deciding that after a week of asking him if he was Spider-Man is long enough before you can mention him again.

Peter takes his attention away from his book for a moment and looks at you, before narrowing his eyes in response. “How am I supposed to know?”

You shrug, “I wasn’t asking if you knew, I was asking if you thought he had a girlfriend. There is a difference.”

“Well, do you?” He responds, throwing the question over to you to answer.

You sigh, “I don’t know. I hope so, but I hope she’s nice. He doesn’t deserve someone who…well, who wasn’t nice?”

“I’m sure his girlfriend is lovely, if he has one.” Peter replies without taking his eyes away from his textbook.

You bite your lip, hoping to get a little more out of him. Whilst a large part of you knows he is lying to you, there is still that small part of you that wants to believe what he told you is true – that you were just hallucinating. It wouldn’t be so unbelievable…but, him being Spider-Man would make so much more sense to you, and that’s something you can’t ignore.

“I hope he isn’t lying to her though.” You continue, watching Peter’s reaction.

His eyes lift from the page he is reading and focus on the floor in front of him, indicating that he’s trying to think really carefully about what he says next.

“I’m sure whatever decisions he makes in his life, he is making them because he thinks they’re the right ones.” He reassures.

“But what if they’re not the right decisions?” You push.

He still refuses to look at you, but you can tell by the way he’s biting his lip that he’s growing slightly irritated.

“I mean, having a boyfriend that lies about anything is bad enough…but finding out he’s lying about being a superhero? That’s even worse, don’t you think? I mean, it’s HUGE.” You deliberately pressure him, “…it’s definitely means for a break up.”

His body suddenly jolts as he places his text book on his lap and gazes at the wall ahead of him, “You think so?”

“Yeah!” You say enthusiastically, trying to sound as subtle as possible. “I mean, say, you were Spider-Man like I thought you were in my confused state. I would want to know something like that.”

“You would?” He enquires, curiously, obviously playing with the idea of me knowing his secret.

You nod, “Totally. For a lot of reasons.”

You sit up carefully and face him, alerting him to pay attention to you.

“I mean, I would understand your hesitation to tell me would be because he would want to protect me. You know what they say, the more you know the more likely you’ll get hurt? I guess that would be the angle you’d be coming from, so I wouldn’t begrudge you of that.” You begin to explain, wanting him to know that if he does come clean to you, you will be more understanding than he might think. However, you don’t want him thinking that you’d just roll-over and accept his betrayal.

“But all it would really prove to me, is that you don’t really trust me as much as I thought, or that you don’t respect me or this relationship enough to share everything with me, you know? I am completely open and honest with you about everything because I feel totally comfortable and safe with you knowing everything there is to know about me, so it would be a massive slap in the face if you couldn’t do the same with me.”

You notice the expression on his face has gone from consideration to sadness, as if the thought of me thinking that he thinks that of me has hurt him. For all you feel bad, you need him to know this, because you also need him to know how you feel for him.

“But, I’d also want to know because I think Spider-Man’s awesome and he’s fought with the Avengers which makes him even more awesome!” You smile, deciding to put a light-hearted spin on the conversation. “Plus, I once saw this movie with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone where Andrew’s character needed a cut on his chest bandaged so he went to Emma’s character to do it, and I just thought that was super cute and now I kinda want to do it in real-life!”

A small smile on his face appears. “But seeing as you’re not him and I would hate for you to get hurt like that – speaking from experience – I guess I’ll just have to give that one a miss, huh?”

He nods ever so slightly, as you give him a small peck on the lips, before flopping back down onto the sofa bed to watch some more television.

Peter goes back to reading through his textbook, but you can tell he’s feeling agitated as he can’t seem to sit still as he reads. Perhaps you went the wrong way about it, but you couldn’t think of another way. You’re pretty much confined to your house and your garden so you can’t go out looking for the answer, and you have no way of contacting Spider-Man himself, which is the only other way you could think of doing it.

A few moments pass, and you hear an unfamiliar ringtone go off. It’s a weird tune to a song you remember hearing in a film once, not that you can remember the name of the film or anything. Peter immediately jolts from his position and checks his phone, stopping the ringtone and shoving the phone back into his bag. He leaps up and begins scrambling his notes together, throwing them into his textbook and putting them in his backpack. You watch him, knowing why he is getting so flustered.

“Urgh…I…um…I gotta go.” He stutters.

You furrow your eyebrows, “So soon? You only just got here.”

“I know, babe, I know.” He coos, kissing my forehead. “But Aunt May’s been bugging me to do my chores since I got out of bed this morning. If I don’t go now she’s messaged me, she’ll skin me alive.”

“Slight exaggeration there, Peetie?” You grin.

He rolls his eyes, “Yeah, look, I gotta go. See ya, love ya, bye!”

And with a slam of the door, he’s gone.

“Are you just sleeping down here tonight?” Your Dad asks you before he leaves the room.

You nod, “If that’s okay?”

He smiles, “Of course, sweetie. Whatever makes my little angel happy.”

You smile back to him as he presses a soft kiss to your forehead and leaves the room. You turn the volume down on the television knowing that your parents are on their way to bed, as you flick onto the news station to see today’s events.

“Spider-Man has stopped a bank robbery in Manhattan. The event unfolded late in the evening and took over an hour for the webbed wonder to get all of the hostages out of the building before chasing the suspects throughout the city. The suspects are now in police custody. Here’s Eddie with more.” You listen to the newsreader.

You sigh. You promised yourself you wouldn’t let this bring you down too much. You were sure that the conversation you had with Peter today would have been enough to encourage him to tell the truth, but seeing as he hasn’t done so, the relationship seems pretty much doomed. How are you meant to be with a guy who will lie to your face about something as big as this? You just don’t know if it’s possible anymore.

You switch the television off, and decide to read a book your mother got you from the store in the hospital. You normally do this when you’re beginning to wind down as reading before bed often tires you out more, but tonight you’re doing it because it’s easier for you to pretend to exist in the fictional world of the book than be slapped with the reality of existing in the real world.

You’re just about dropping off, when you’re startled by a knock on the door. You look at your phone and check the time: 11:56pm. Who the hell is knocking on the door at this time of night?

You climb out of the sofa bed, and you hear one of your parent’s moving around upstairs. “It’s okay, I’ll get it!!” You shout up, letting them know you’ll take care of it.

You turn the key in the lock and open the door. You stare back at the person looking back at you for a moment and convince yourself you must be dreaming. You’re still living in that fictional world. You close the door in their face.

It’s not until you take a few steps away from the door that you realise you aren’t dreaming. This is real, and that was Spider-Man at your front door. Your eyes widen for a moment, before you leap back to the door and re-open it. He’s still stood there, proudly in his suit, bunch of roses in-hand and backpack slung over his shoulders. You can’t help the smile that forms on your face as you stare back at him in awe.

“Who is it, sweetheart?” Your mom shouts downstairs.

Your instincts immediately kick in as you drag “Spider-Man” inside and push him into the living room, closing the door behind him. Your mom appears at the top of the stairs, “Who was it, sweetheart?”

You gulp, “Erm…no-one, it must have just been a kid thinking he was being funny. It’s okay, you can go back to bed. I’m fine.”

She looks at you suspiciously for a moment, before nodding. “Okay lovie, good night.”

“You too.”

The second you can no longer hear her footsteps on the floorboards above you, you return to your exciting visitor in the living room. His suit remains on and the roses are still in his hands, but his backpack is sitting on the floor at his feet. You look at him hopefully, wanting him to be the one to come out with what you’ve known since last week.

“I can explain.” He speaks sheepishly.

You shake your head, “Not yet.”

You approach him slowly, and stop when your faces are within just centimetres of each other. You reach your arms up to his shoulders and take hold of his mask. You gulp, taking a deep breath before lifting it ever so carefully. Your heart beats faster and faster the further you lift the mask off his head, and when those dreamy brown eyes stare back into yours, you can’t help but get a little teary-eyed. It takes just seconds after that to fully remove the mask from his head, and you hold it down by your side. His hair is messy from being trapped under there for so long.

You smile to him, warmly, as he looks back at you nervously. “I brought these to soften the blow.” Peter whispers, holding the roses out to you. You look down at them, and take them from his hands. “They’re…beautiful, but…what changed?”

He gulps and looks down to the ground for a moment. “I should have told you when you asked me about it in the hospital. I just…I panicked. I blamed myself for not getting to you in time, and tried to push the grief off of me and onto Spider-Man. I thought that would make it easier for the both of us. When you asked me if I was Spider-Man, I thought it was because you were going to blame him for you being stabbed.”

You look at him in a whole new light. You had never thought to think about it like that. This boy – your boyfriend- carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. He saves people’s lives day-in-day-out. He does whatever he can to prevent this city from being under threat. But that always comes with pressure and responsibility, and not everyone he goes to save can be saved. He’ll have seen dozens of people be rushed to hospital because of a crime he could have prevented. He’ll probably have even seen people die. That’s hard enough for adults to deal with, let alone people our age. Whilst you’ve sat here and complained that he’s lied to you again, he’s been witnessing some of the most horrific things life could throw at you. You feel selfish. That’s all there is to it. At least you’re alive.

You place the roses and his mask on the sofa bed next to you and pull him into a hug. He hesitates before hugging you back. “I never did get to thank Spider-Man for saving my life, did I? Thank you.”

“You mean, you’re not mad at me?” He questions, with a confused tone to his voice, as he pulls away from the hug slightly.

You sigh, “I thought I would be, but I guess when I think in the grand scheme of things, there could be way worse things you could have been lying about.”

He shakes his head, “You have every right to be mad at me…like you were saying this morning…this is means for a break-up.”

You look at him sadly, swallowing as you do. “Peter, I said those things this morning to guilt trip you into telling me the truth. A lot of what I said I only said because I knew it would make you feel bad. If anyone should be mad, it should be you.”

He furrows his eyebrows, “So, you weren’t going to break up with me?”

You roll your eyes, “I mean…I’d be lying if I said it hadn’t crossed my mind…”

“…but none of that matters anymore. What matters is that you’ve told me the truth. You carry enough pressure as it is. You don’t need me complicating things even more.”

“I can’t believe you’re being so cool about this.” He replies, holding your face in his hands and stroking your cheek with his thumb.

You smile to him sweetly, “Well, you know what I can’t believe?”

“What?” He asks.

“I’m dating Spider-Man!” You exclaim as quietly as you can, not wanting to wake your parents up or having them find out Peter’s secret too. You don’t think they would react as cool as you. For all they like Spider-Man for saving your life and they feel safe knowing he’s looking out for the city, to find out you’re dating him would be a step too far for them.

The two of you laugh, and he glances down to his mask and up at the ceiling. You look back at him confused.

“You know you were telling me about a movie you’d seen with Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone that you kinda wanted to re-enact with Spider-Man in real life?” He begins, biting his lip. You nod your head. “Well, I haven’t seen that one, but I have seen this other one with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst and they do the most awesome kiss you’ve ever seen. He’s basically hanging upside down and they kiss…upside down!”

You giggle, “Yeah, I…don’t think I’ve seen that one.”

“Well, I don’t have a cut on my chest that you can bandage up, so that won’t work this time around.” He elaborates, before shooting you a mischievous look. “But, we could always give the upside down kiss a try?”

You throw your head back in laughter, “Okay, Spidey. Let’s give Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst a run for their money!”

He picks up his mask and puts it back on. You watch as he climbs up the living room wall and onto the ceiling, before dropping down slowly on his web. He stops when your faces are on equal level. You reach out your hands and pull his mask down to reveal his lips, before connecting your lips with his.

Today will go down as a lot of things. Not only have you successfully manipulated your boyfriend into revealing his biggest secret and had the chance to thank him for saving your life last week, you also achieved the hottest and most perfect lip-lock you have ever had the pleasure of achieving. Here’s to plenty more!
