i have to be out of bed by 10

Woke up to a little bit of vertigo and a whole lot of nausea. My no-vertigo streak since February is over and I’m trying not to cry about it. I need to be grateful that I went so long without any symptoms and I got to enjoy so much. Its going to be a long winter though.

(I have had chronic vertigo with an unknown cause for over 10 years now. Sometimes I can go months with out symptoms. Sometime its every day but just feeling crappy. And some days I am bed ridden and cant move my head. Ive had multiple MRIs tried every medication, diet change, job changes, massage/chiro, everything. Nothing helps)

I chuckled, “I’ve been with you for every holiday since we’ve entered college” I said zipping up my luggage

She groaned, “How come he can’t come here?He’d love England” She said sitting up on my bed

I looked over to her, “Because he has a match and I can’t make him miss it for me” I said

Leslie groaned once more, “Great now I have to find out what and who I’m going to do things with” She said 

I chuckled, “I love you too Les” 

She rolled her eyes, “If you loved me you wouldn’t be leaving me right now” 

I stood up and hugged her, “I’ll only be gone for 10 days, and I promise I’ll get you something while I’m out there”I said

She looked at me, “Seriously?”

I nodded, “I promised didn’t I”

She nodded, “What times your flight?”

We both broke out in laughter, “You’re really something else Leslie” 

She smiled, “I’m going to be so bored when you’re gone” She said

I sighed, “Didn’t you say you had dates planned?”

Leslie nodded her head, causing me to chuckle. “Yeah, but I need a girlfriend as well to gossip with”

Leslie and I continued talking, as I finished getting everything together so I could leave. Once I’d gotten everything Leslie drove me to the airport, “I’m gonna miss you Y/N” She said hugging me

I chuckled hugging her back, “I’m gonna miss you too Leslie, but when I get back we’re going to definitely have a girls day” I said

She nodded, “We better”

We hugged once more before, I boarded my plane and took my seat. 

“Y/N!”

I turned around, seeing Rafinha holding up a big sign for me. I chuckled, and made my way over giving him a kiss. “I missed you” He said 

I smiled, “I missed you too”

Rafinha took my suitcase for me in one hand and interlocked our hands together, we walked out to the car and he opened the door for me. After putting my stuff in the trunk he got in and smiled, he started the car up and we drove towards his apartment.  

Once we got there, Rafinha helped me unpack. When we finished Rafinha and I went into the living room, “You know I’m really happy that you’re here” He said

I smiled, “I’m happy to be here, seeing you through FaceTime isn’t the same as seeing you in person”

“Aye Y/N!” The guys said as I walked Rafinha down to the tunnel

I smiled, “Hey, guys”

“Wait who’s Y/N?” 

The guys turned towards the source of the voice, “Oh that’s right , Y/N meet Ousmane Dembele. And Dembele meet Y/N, Rafinha’s girlfriend from England” Gerard said

I smiled shaking his hand, “Nice to meet you” I said

He nodded, “Likewise” He said shaking my hand

Rafinha placed his arm around my shoulders, “Alright so since we’ve said hello to Y/N, it’s time to go so I could spend time with her” Rafinha said

I chuckled as the guys groaned, “C’mon it’s the first time we’re seeing her in months “ Jordi said

“Same for me” Rafinha said

“Not true you guys have FaceTime”

I looked over to Rafinha chuckling, “Ooo he’s got you there” I said

Rafinha rolled his eyes, “I’m gonna kiss her if you guys don’t leave” He said

school is starting soon (or has already started) and i also wanted to somehow thank you guys for 7k in a way other than the usual blog rate or blog awards. keep a look out for the other 4!

now, i’m naturally a morning person. i just am, and i always have been. no matter how late i go to bed my body thinks it’s a great idea to noT sleep in and wake up at 6 am every day (’: here are a few things i do to make it a little easier and enjoy my mornings!

1. GO TO BED EARLY. this is honestly a no brainer but STOP SPENDING HOURS ON YOUR PHONE WTH like it’s so harmful for your eyes and your mind and your brain and your body will thank you in the morning when your eyes aren’t burning with exhaustion. 

1.a. when i decided to stop being an irresponsible smol child who tried to stay up every night, i started setting alarms for going to sleep. so like at 9:00 (ok ik thats pretty early but thats usually when i go to bed), or maybe that’ll be like 10:00 or 10:30 for you so that you can go to bed around 11. but anyways, when you hear this alarm, it’s time to get off of your phone or laptop (-: send your gn streaks and texts, close insta (log out if u have to), and shut it all down. soon after, you will start to notice how tired you actually are without all that blue light distracting you !!!

2. read! this is a personal favorite just because i’m a huge nerd but reading right before bed is just killing 2 birds with one stone: you’re exercising your mind and subconsciously improving your writing skills (vocabulary and grammar) while making yourself very tired!! if you think reading, especially at night, is boring, you aren’t reading the right books for you.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

3. prepare yourself for the morning so it seems less dreadful. OPEN YOUR BLINDS BEFORE BED JUST DO IT OMG you will wake up with the sun. do a little miniclean of your room before bed so you’re not waking up to yesterday’s disaster. make your coffee the night before and leave it in the fridge if you like it iced in the morning. plan out what you’re going to wear tomorrow, as well as your lunch. shower (so u sleep better and/or dont have to do it in the morning) and brush your teeth. pamper yourself. set up fairy lights. just do anything that will cause you to wake up and go “jeez glad i did that last night; now i have more time and peace of mind”. 

4. find something to look forward to in the morning. this might be going to get coffee or tea with a friend in the morning, getting to wear the cute outfit and eat the delicious lunch that you prepped last night, or remembering that you’re going to see a movie after school. whatever it may be, let it motivate you to get up and start your day as soon as possible. 

5. turn off/disable snooze. do it. if your alarm app can’t do this, install an app that can. i also like to set up my alarm so that i have to do some challenging mental math to turn it off. 

5.a. make your alarm something that will cause you to get up. it doesn’t necessarily have to be something really annoying. it can be something upbeat and light that puts you in a good mood for the day. however, if you’re a really heavy sleeper then you might want to make it some obnoxious and loud sound so that you will be motivated just to get out of bed and turn it off. 

6. put your phone across the room. we’ve all heard of this one but most of us are too lazy to do it. at night, when you whip out that book, log off all your social media and then put your phone somewhere so far that you’ll have to physically get out of bed and turn off the alarm.

7. make your bed suit your aesthetic. this derives from the basic “make your bed” tip. sure, you can make your bed, and sure, it might motivate you to not get back in. but if you really struggle with this, buy one of those prepackaged bed sets that has a nice color scheme. once you make your bed, you’re not going to want to ruin that aesthetic tbh

8. keep a consistent sleep schedule, even on the weekends!! i’m not saying you have to wake up at 6 am even on saturdays, but don’t go from waking up at 6 to waking up at 12. maybe push your wake up time to 8:30 or 9 latest on the weekends. as you get used to waking early (and sleeping early, too!) you can slowly push back your weekend wake up time earlier and earlier until it’s almost identical to the time you wake up when you have school.

Glow Up tips

this summer is a great opportunity to glow up on the asses of those who have slept on you. Hope everyone has an amazing come back and that you all get that “ they got hot this summer”


1. drink plenty of water: i know that this is any every “tips post” but it’ll help you maintain a beautiful complexion, fresh breath, help with weight loss, and so so so much more 


2. coconut oil: this is the shit! use it for your hair, your face, your legs ….everything. 


3.exercise: do your squats, eat healthy food. best form of revenge is a super hot body.


4. post so many selfies on social media …. make sure the photos are super dope and look very luxurious and mysterious and fancy and work on getting more followers. i suggest you look through Russian Instagram to find poses and study selfie angles.


5. have a stunning wardrobe: you don’t need lots of money to dress like you’re rich. it’s all about how you combine your clothes together. chose neat, fshionable clothes. velvet is really in this year and so are lace up dresses and t-shirts. Asos has a very wide range of trendy clothes and it’s not too expensive. You also get 10% off if you’re a student. /p>


6.read and watch lots of movies: get educated and informed over the summer. feed your soul with sophistication. read philosophical books or whatever kind you like . watch old movies. 


7. step OUT of your comfort zone: don’t go to bed unless you’ve done something each day that you have never done before. it’ll be a great t boost for your self confidence. i promise!


8.go out, have fun, takes lots of pictures and post them. it doesn’t have to cost much, a simple trip to the beach will do .. just flash that hot hot summer body.


9. be humble, but still, let those bitches know. 


10. meet new people and post selfies with them.


11. get a haircut or change your haircut or whatever as long as you change something, have a makeover.


12. do weekly DIY spa days: you can make your own pedi, amni, body scrub, facial masks with ingredients from your kitchen. 


13.take good good care of yourself and make sure you’re stress free and happy.


14.stay away from people who make you feel like shit.


15. avoid seeing your fake friends and stick to the passive agressive braging snapchat/IG routine.


16.gloooooow from the inside out. 

 17. if you have super dry hair and split ends like me, for the love of whatever you believe in just ditch the hair Iron and hair curler and blow dryer…these are the enemy..I know it’s super hard to do especially if you always style your hair with heat but try to find an alternative and only use heat once a week if you must.


 18. You should probably consult with your doctor(don’t do this if you’re pregnant/breastfeeding/allergic) …I take biotin once a day and honestly my fingernails grow like crazy and they are super strong and long so I don’t put on acrylics…it’s also good for your hair and metabolism.


 19. dry hair ? almond oil and jojoba oil itchy scalp/dandruff ? add a few drops of tea tree oil to your shampoo dull hair ? Mayo . and anything can be solved with coco oil.


 20. tea tree oil is a must for clearing ur acne.


 21. soak your feet in baking soda and water and then use a pumic stone to remove dead skin cells. 


 22. for a deep cleansing mask I mix 1 tablespoon of clay with a few drops of tea tree oil and a tablespoon of cold water. If you have dry skin don’t use tea tree oil and add jojoba oil instead of water.


 23.moisturize your face twice a day after cleaning with grapeseed oil.


 24. for #teamnosleep.. if you have dark circles apply a mask from coffee grinds and almond oil twice a day then rinse witb cold water and moisturize with a good (preferably natural) eye cream.


 25. strech marks ? I’ve got the holy grail. if you have a coffee machine you can reuse the capsules/grinded coffee by emptying it to a container, adding brown sugar and a bit of sesame oil/coconut oil and mix …voila …you have your DIY coffee scrub. leave on for 10 minutes in the shower and use everyday and you will notice your skin begining to repair itself.


26. Your fake friends are treating you like crap and are forgetting your worth?

you are a goddess, you do not deserve to be slept on or even minorly disrespected. Don’t you ever forget that. You should not feel like shit when you are champagne in a crystal glass and they are lukewarm piss in a plastic cup.

do not send them messages wondering why they have changed or start a fight or even send them an angry text, they’ll think they have a worth and actually mean something to you. instead, you ignore them so hard they will even begin doubting their own existence and yet keep posting pics of yourself having fun ( or pretending to have fun) abd be all bougie and uninterested.

for a lot of us, it seems nearly impossible to find a balance between our grades and our health. i’ve created a list of tips and resources for managing classwork as well as mental illness. i tried to be inclusive of depression and anxiety as well as other disorders like adhd and bipolar. (i’d like to be more inclusive of others, but i couldn’t find a lot of resources and wasn’t sure what would help aaaa)

please let me know if you have anything to add, and i hope this post can help you out in some way c:

while studying

  • create a routine, and do your best to stick to it. having a consistent schedule can be a struggle, especially when dealing with long days of class or difficulties with sleep. try something more open-ended and flexible if you can’t manage specific times. (studying for an hour in the morning and before bed vs studying at 8 am and 10 pm)
  • start with your favourite subject. there are a lot of suggestions on how to start a study session (and they usually conflict it seems), but i’ve found that this works best for me. your favourite subject may be easy or difficult, but by starting with it, you get in the groove of studying and won’t get burnt out as quickly, giving you more energy to do your other work.
  • don’t take on more than what you can handle. if you’re feeling motivated, great! get as much done as you can! but on the bad days, just do what you can. there are times where it seems nearly impossible to get anything done, but still try to make the most out of each day and do what you’re able to so you don’t fall far behind. do what you can, when you can. don’t overwork yourself so much.

during class

  • take notes. for me, the easiest way to lose track during a class is if i don’t write or doodle. even if the material doesn’t seem important, write it down! it may be useful later, and it’ll keep your mind from wandering during lecture. (that being said, don’t always write things exactly as the teacher says; putting it into your own words can make it easier to remember and understand)
  • record lecture audio. if you can’t copy everything down in time, or if for whatever reason you need to know something verbatim, then you’ll have something to listen to again later.
  • take pics of what the instructor writes on the board. similar to the above tip, you can refer back to the pictures you took. just don’t forget about them! write yourself a note or make an alarm on your phone to remind you that there’s more material to review. don’t be the kid who takes pictures during the whole lecture but never writes anything, that kid’s obnoxious and gets bad grades
  • stay focused. i fidget a lot with my hands and feet, especially during a long lecture or study session. i find that keeping my hand on my pen/pencil is the simplest way to keep my mind on track, but fidget toys may help you as well. most teachers and students are fine with it as long as it’s not too disruptive.

at home

  • keep track of medication. ngl i am suuuper forgetful when it comes to medication :’) if you’re forgetful too, leave yourself as many reminders as you can. set alarms, write notes, or have someone else keep you accountable if you’re living with a parent or roommate. having routine helps here as well, especially if you take meds multiple times a day.
  • communicate regularly with your doctor. if you’re living away from home, or just a busy student, it can be particularly difficult to make appointments. but you should still make an effort to email your doctor, therapist, etc. at least once a month, and more often if you’re currently changing or adjusting medications.
  • “catching up” on sleep is a myth. depriving yourself of sleep during the week and then sleeping in on the weekends won’t fix your sleep schedule, sadly. keep it consistent if you can. even if you’re staying up late and sleeping in, try to get at least 7-8 hours. whether it’s 12-8 am or 2-10 am, it’s a reasonable amount for getting through the day. sleeping too little can leave you tired and grumpy in the morning, but sleeping too much can also leave you groggy, sluggish, and unproductive for the rest of the day.
  • eat something healthy. okay, no one can eat healthy all the time, and i don’t expect you to. i certainly don’t expect myself to lol. but we can still find a healthy snack or meal to make a part of our lives. sometimes fruit is the best comfort food tbh. here are a few simple snacks that you could try, for studying or for whatever else. i personally enjoy anything with berries, especially yogurt parfait or oatmeal.
  • have a support system. it helps so much to have someone you can talk to when you’re not feeling well or in need of encouragement. it can be a friend, a parent, a sibling, your significant other, or even other members of the studyblr community! (if you don’t have anyone to talk to, please talk to me!! i am here for you my friendo)

other stuff

  • community college by @universi-tea - if you’re worried about moving into dorms or away from home (or are simply unable to), i strongly encourage you to try out community college. it’s made schooling much more enjoyable and accessible for me and i think everyone should give it a chance. plus it’s waaay cheaper.
    • also, most (if not all) U.S. schools have a disability services department; this applies to both physical and mental illnesses. talking to them for the first time can be nerve-wracking, but in the long run it’s completely worth it. teachers and staff want to help you! but you have to help yourself a lil bit too. accommodations may include leniency about attendance and deadlines, or they may let you take exams on earlier or later dates with fewer students present. the flexibility with deadlines has saved my ass more than once tbh
  • things to do when things don’t feel right by @affectionsuggestions - sometimes it’s okay to just do small things, and sometimes it’s okay to not do anything at all.
  • ways to start feeling again by @urbanthropologie - similar to above, but with a focus on mindfulness (helps with anxiety, dissociation, etc)
  • my mental illness tag - this has many other resources that are otherwise not listed in this post.
  • my printables tag! - printables are great for when you’re too tired or not sure how to write things out completely by hand. there are some planners and calendars as well as gratitude logs, habit trackers, etc.

summer has (un)officially begun! here are some sweet tips and tricks to help you maintain your productivity during these fun times, even if you’re out of school.

  1. wake up at a respectable time. seriously. if your sleep schedule is all out of wack, then chances are that your productivity will be too. i usually make it a point to go to bed before 11:30 p.m, and i wake up between 7-8:30 a.m. modify this to your needs, obviously, but maintaining a sleep timetable that you can stick to is important. you can go off it a few times, of course (midnights at the beach, anyone?), because hey! it’s summer. just tailor to your needs.
  2. find a new hobby! whether it’s cooking, learning a language, or exercising, picking up a new interest over the summer keeps you occupied and creates a healthy habit for you before the next school year.
  3. online lectures/schooling. a super cool way to learn a bit more, with videos and lectures from some of the school’s top universities. it might be a little over your head, but it’ll give you something neat to chew on and some bonus education. plus, it’s of YOUR choosing. 
  4. volunteer work! i love to coach at my nearby pool, it’s a fun way to interact with kids AND i earn some volunteer hours. find something near you, and a make it a day-long opportunity or even a month-long project. it feels good to give back to the community.
  5. water. oh my god, drink water. it’s a season of extremes, no matter where you are, and drinking water is oh so important to stay healthy when you’re not actively thinking about it. buy a 32 oz water bottle (or, if you’re feeling fancy, a cute tumbler) and fill it up with water. drink that. all of it. repeat. keep repeating.
  6. create a healthy routine that allows you to feel productive even when you’re not really doing anything. for me, that’s forcing myself to make my bed, get dressed, etc. by 10:00 a.m. that way, i feel as if i’ve started my day, even though i’ve only done the smallest things. that usually gives me motivation to continue with my tasks.
  7. most importantly, enjoy it! whether you’re going on vacation or not, taking classes, whatever, it’s summer and you should enjoy your break. take a day off sometimes. go out with your friends. do something that makes you happy.

How to avoid burnout

I’ve had quite a few asks about ‘burnout’ from studying too much, so here are a few tips to avoid burning out:

  • Manage your time efficiently - here’s a link to my post on time management. Split projects into small parts - this helps with getting your workload to feel a lot more achievable, and I think it also increases productivity if you are ticking things off a list, and can see the progress you’re making.
  • Have a routine - by this I mean having clear times when you are working and not. Being in school/uni is not like a job - you can’t just leave work at the end of the day when you come home, because you have homework etc. but you can have clear times by which you’ll stop working. I make sure I stop work in the region of 8:00-8:30pm every night, to leave myself the evening to relax. I also find that having a morning and evening routine that incorporates nice relaxing things (like taking baths and reading) helps too.
  • Schedule downtime into your routine - when planning your day/week literally plan in time to relax - whether this is watching TV, playing video-games, reading or seeing friends. It’s so important to do this, if you don’t have downtime you will just go mad and burnout.
  • Make time for breaks - even if you are in finals week or working to a deadline, it is so important to plan in breaks to your revision/work. Each person is different in the time that they can work effectively for. I find that I can work for about 1-1.5 hours at a time before I start to become restless and distracted - so I always make sure to have a break and really get away from work for a little while.
  • Practise self-care - it is so so vital that you take the time out to do whatever it is that will help maintain good mental, physical and emotional health - this may be meditation, reading, exercising, having a long bath etc. Even if it is just taking 10 minutes before you go to bed to do some yoga, or making yourself your favourite hot drink, every little helps!
  • Start saying ‘no’ - this is something I have had to start doing this term as I just took on too much extra work and made too many commitments. You have to be able to say no to some projects/activities, otherwise you will just be busy 24/7 and have no time to relax. You have to realise that (even if you want to) you physically can’t do everything!
  • Don’t force work if you’re ill - if you have a cold/headache/the flu/having a bad mental health day etc. then you won’t be able to work as effectively or efficiently as you normally can. I think it’s better to take a few days completely off working, when you can solely focus on resting and getting well again, rather than trying to force yourself to work through the illness. If you don’t give your body this time to rest then it will just take a lot longer to get better again, and you’ll end up feeling burnt out.

This list is by no means all you can do, it’s just a few things that might help. If you feel that you are starting to burnout - if you are feeling anxious, stressed, fatigued or anything like that then make sure you reach out to someone (family, friends, GP). Don’t leave it because you think burnout isn’t serious, or that it’ll just get better on its own.

“Ughh” Jin grunts, as he dumps the heavy bagged object on the ground. He turned around, when he heard another thud, from where his youngest brother dropped another bag.

“Does it not bother you?” the 16yr old Jungkook, choked out. His doe eyes were shot wide open, as he stared with immense guilt at the large objects on the ground. He was clenching his fists, afraid that he may break if he looked at his eldest brother.

Jin, honestly didn’t know how to deal with Jungkook. It was always normal to feel bad after completing their father’s tasks, but eventually you’d have to get used to it. But for some reason, Jungkook was never able to become immune to his emotions.

He let out a frustrated sigh, as he looks at his little brother, “Of course it does. You just have to get used to it.”

“Used to this? H-how can anyone live like this?” the boy shakes, trying to control his anger.

“Jungkook, it’s out of our hands. We must always follow father’s orders.”

“How could you even refer to him as a father?! You know what kind of man he is! You know what he did to all of our mothers…” he sobs.

Jin was losing his composure as the boy continued. He knew their father was a vile human being, who was most likely the human form of the devil himself, but he just had to accept it. Every one of his six brothers came to terms with that, except Jungkook. He was different from the rest.

Jeff’s POV

It was never supposed to happen this way. It should have been me! If that stupid stop sign wasn’t down and if I wasn’t drunk maybe things wouldn’t have ended this way.

*flashback* Y/N POV

As you got ready for the first party of the year, settling on a black romper and flats, you get a text from Jeff.

”be there by 20:30 x”

As you finished doing your hair, you heard your parents and who you presumed to be Jeff. As you walked into the kitchen it was as if he could sense your presence because he turned to you and flashed you a smile that was reserved only for you. You stood next to him and he wrapped his arm around your waist and pressed a loving kiss on your forehead. The drive to Jessica’s house was in a comfortable silence, with you humming to the tune of whatever song was on the radio and Jeff focusing on the road and having his hand resting on your leg.

You both stayed together for the duration of the party, as usual. You decided it was best that you not drink seeing that Jeff decided to play beer pong and someone will have to be the designated driver. You saw Clay and Hannah together and it looked like things were going well. Anyone could see that they liked each other if you paid enough attention. It seemed like the two were just waiting for the other to make the first move. Jeff was really doing a good deed by helping Clay, and from what you’ve heard, Hannah deserves happiness after everything the people at this school has put her through.

It was getting late, so you decided it be best that you and Jeff leave before he gets too drunk, knowing that he will regret it tomorrow morning. As you drove, Jeff filled the silence, “We should go for breakfast tomorrow”, he spoke. You smiled at him, “How about lunch? I don’t think your hangover is going to let you leave bed before 10″, you looked at him and laughed. But you were cut short by the sound of screeching tyres and crash, and everything suddenly went black.

You could hear a voice scream your name, no wait two voices. “y/n wake up, baby please just move, open your eyes. Do something so i know you’re okay please.” Jeff. “Jeff we have to get you out!” said the second voice. “NO! She needs to be okay Clay!” Clay, it’s Clay. You tried, you really tried to move but it was like you were stuck in cement. You wanted to just wrap your arms around Jeff and tell him that everything was going to be okay. That’s when you heard the sirens, the ambulance, Jeff still calling out your name. It pained you to hear him call and you not being able to do anything. It all sounded so distant, it sounded like it was happening miles away from the place you were. But what you heard next didn’t feel distant, it felt like it was being screamed into your ear. “Driver, female, late teens, time of death: 00:26.″

*present* Jeff’s POV

It’s been three days. Three days since I lost her. As I walk into school, everyone looks at me with sympathy and there’s road safety posters plastered everywhere. Are you fucking kidding me? “follow the rules of the road”, “road safety isn’t a joke.” Maybe if the fucking stop sign was up she would still be here. 

“Jeff, wait up”

“Clay, uh-hi”

“I’m not gonna ask how you’re holding up, but you’re my friend and I need to know if you’re gonna be okay at school.”

“I don’t know anymore, there was this part of me hoping she would be there waiting at my locker like she usually does, standing there with open arms ready to tell me it was all a nightmare and that she wouldn’t leave me.”

“Hey listen, everything becomes too much, just tell me and we can put our lessons on hold.”

“No, no don’t do that. She believed in me Clay, she always believed I would would get my grades up and play again and I can at least do that for her.”

“Jeff you know I’m always gonna be here okay? Just don’t do anything you’ll regret, just talk to me okay?”

“yeah thanks Clay”

*2 months later*

She would be proud, y/n would be proud. I got my grades up and coach is going to let me play again. I just wish she was her to see this. “And now stepping up to the plate, Liberty High’s golden boy has returned, Jeff Atkins!”

As I walked onto the field I felt like everything was coming together. I took my position, ready to use all my built up anger and frustration and hit the ball. That’s when I heard it, I looked into the crowd to see where that voice came from but no one was there. I shook it off and got into position again, then there she was, the biggest smile and cheering me on from “her spot” in the crowd and i froze, the bat falling to my feet as i stood there staring at the place she would always stand during my games.

“Jeff! hey man what happened? you good?” someone said as they placed their hand on my shoulder, forcing me to move my gaze from the crowd. “She was there, I heard her voice and I thought I saw her Justin.” “Jeff she’s not there, I’m sorry.” “She was always at my games, she wouldn’t miss any of them. She was my lucky charm.” “Jeff there’s something you need to know about the night of the accident. I-uh Hannah said something after she died, but I can’t say anything. Sheri is the only one who can tell you what really happened that night….”

Its been about a week since Liz’s party happened and during that time Peter had completely started ignoring you, every time you sat by Peter he would get up and leave. In gym Ned and him started doing their stretches on the furthest part of the gym from you.

You were hurt. More then hurt actually, you felt broken. The guy of your dreams almost kissed you and now you could feel he regretted it, a lot. Hell he could barley even stand looking at you. Michelle finally spoke kicking you out of your horrid thoughts “Hey Y/N how ya holding up?” You felt her hand slowly rub your back in an attempt to comfort you. “Well MJ not very well, I’ve liked peter ever since he moved into that stupid apartment and when i finally got the chance to kiss him, he left me..” you paused looking up from the library table you’ve recently started coming to to seek comfort in being alone, “and he regrets it, he regrets trying to kiss me and won’t even do as much as give me the time of day.” Michelle’s hand dropped from your back and found their way onto your face and turned you to look at her. “Listen Y/N, maybe Peter has an explanation for all this.” She looked deep into your eyes feeling the sadness radiate off of you.

“Just maybe try talking to him?” she suggested pulling her hand away from your face. You sighed, she’s right i need to just woman up and talk to him instead of treating him like he is me. I need to be the mature one in this situation. You grabbed your books off of the table and made your way out of the library and towards Peters locker, Its almost the end of 6th period, the last period of the day.

The bell rang right as you made it to Peters locker and waited silently to confront the boy who made you feel broken, but he never came.

“Uh hey Ned?” you asked when you passed by him on your way to debate club, tired of waiting. Ned shut his locker and mad his way over to you with a smile on his face “Yeah whats up Y/N?” you felt a sick feeling over come you before asking whats on your mind, “Have yo-you seen Pete-Peter anywhere?” You stuttered out your question, averting your eyes from Ned’s suddenly feeling a gross kind of embarrassed over run your feeling of sickness. “No, actually i haven’t seen him since gym.” Ned replied as you two began to walk the same way towards the debate club. “Maybe he’ll be at the debate meeting today.” Ned said with a happy glint in his eyes, “How come you’re looking for him?” your heart drops into your stomach trying to think of something to say other than the truth, “We uh-we’re doing a project in chemistry together and i haven’t been able to get ahold of him.” You lie with a sick smile on your face, the lie seeming to convince Ned as you two walked through the doors of the gym to your now daily debate club meeting.

“Hey you two, hurry up and take your seats.” Liz spoke gleefully with a smile on her face before going back to asking questions to the 4 people sitting at tables on the small school stage for nationals that happen in 2 days.

You were getting settled into your seat next to MJ at the front table when you heard the door open to the small theater room open. You looked up from pulling your binder out of your backpack when you caught eyes with the beautiful chocolate ones that were so intimate with you just a week ago.

His gaze averted from yours making you feel guilty for even meeting his eyes in the first place. “Mr. Harrington, I need you to let me go to nationals.” Peter rushed his sentence out. You let out a small laugh you were trying to keep in. Peters head snapped over in your direction and the smile on your face grew wider and your laugh grew louder at his unexpected look. Not even 2 days have passed since Peter said he wasn’t going to nationals and now he wants to? “Well i don’t know whats up with Y/N but you can’t just show up at the last meeting before nationals and expect to be put back on the team” Flash spits confidently at Peter “Well actually Mr. Parker..” Mr. Harrington shot Flash the “shut up” look with his eyebrows raised “Yes you can, Flash can you grab Peters jacket out of my office desk please.” Mr. Harrington flashed a smile at Flash.

“Peters coming to nationals now?” Michelle lowly whispered just barely audible for you to hear, “this should be interesting.” She smiled down at her notebook as she began drawing god knows what.  


“Alright everyone needs to behave and no sneaking out after the curfew I’ve set, ten o'clock.” Mr. Harrington lectured you and the group of 10 teenagers. Liz, Michelle and you grab your key cards from the front desk and make your way up to your shared room with them. After getting settled in you decided to relax and watch some tv.

“Hey..” your attention got jerked away from the tv when it turned off suddenly “how about we go to the pool?” You looked over to see Liz gleefully smiling at you and Michelle with her bathing suit on. “Now?” you asked getting up off the bed you were sitting on “it’s 10:30 and isn’t the pool closed?” Liz slipped on her flip-flops “No it doesn’t close till 11:30 and Mr. Harrington does have to know, Plus being rebellious is good for moral…” she paused looking between Michelle and you “so hurry up and get your bathing suits on while I go tell the others.” you quickly agree with her and grab your suit out of your draw of the dresser.

“Michelle, you gonna come?” you ask from the bathroom while putting on your swimsuit on “No, I’m good here with the tv.” she replied as she plopped back down on the bed. You shoved your dirty clothes into your suitcase “Well you’ll just miss out on all the fun!” you called out leaving the room and making your way to the pool.

the pool is on the same floor as your shared room so all you have to do is walk down a few hallways, you make a round around the 2nd to last corner when you collide with something, or someone.

You fall back on your butt letting out a few mumbles of cuss words, “Oh god I’m so sorry, that was my-” The person stops when your eyes meet the familiar chocolate ombré orbs, this moment feeling more intimate than intended, you break your eyes away staring at the floor and taking peters now stretched out hand to help you up.

“Ok so-” a voice interrupts the moment you and Peter were having, “oh hey guys!” The smile of Liz comes into your view, “Hey Liz.” Peter coughs and you see a pink shade take over his face, you lowly scoff and roll eyes taking your hand slowly from Peters. “Are you coming to the pool too Peter?” Liz asks as everyone passes by the three of you “I wasn’t planning on it.” He laughs slightly catching your eyes only to look back to Liz just as you were about to say something you might’ve regretted Liz spoke, “Well you should, so hurry up and get your trunks on!” She whisper shouted the last part of her comment and the same pink shade that took over peters face took over hers.

You felt uncomfortable, like you were intruding on a private moment. “Please, its gonna be like a good luck charm for us!” She spoke as she walked away towards everyone else. Peter turned his attention back to you “You’re going swimming i’m guessing?” He scratched the back of his neck, looking everywhere but your eyes “well you heard Liz, it’s gonna be our good luck charm.” You sarcastically spoke trying to meet Peters eyes with your Y/E/C ones just once.

“Look could we talk about what happened last-” Peters eyes finally caught yours taking you off guard and causing you to choke on your words, the feeling of be unwanted right here in this moment overran your body making you slouch slightly “Look Y/N…” he paused as his phone buzzed in his pocket “I really have to go, could we talk later?” He sighed running his hands through his soft, fluffy brown hair. “Uh sure.” You whispered breaking eye contact with Peter and looking at the floor, Peter sighed once more before walking away “just- just please don’t forget!” You called to him as he turned the corner and out of your sight.

You started making your way to the pool again thinking about what just happened, did Peter even really want to talk? He hasn’t wanted to talk to me at all this past week so maybe he really did regret what could have happened that night. You reached the door to the pool and slid your keycard through the small slot and the door clicked open. You slapped your card down on one of the small tables “there you are!” Flash shouted from in the pool, “I was starting to think you ditched us for penis.” He laughed making your mood even worse than it already was. “Whatever Flash.” You slipped into the pool and just floated on your back looking up at the ceiling with a couple of windows at the top, just admiring the stars and wishing how you could just be one right now instead of having to deal with all of this .. drama? no that’s not the right word for it, but I’m not sure what is maybe- your thoughts get cut off when your eyes meet the ones you saw in the hallway not even 5 minutes ago.

“Peter?” You whisper so quiet no one else hears you, you see Peters eyes widen and then he disappears. You stop and stand on your feet in the small hotel pool still staring up at the window. What is he doing on the roof? Why was he staring at me?

You get out of the pool and grab a designated towel from a small rack in the corner of the room and sit down at a lawn chair.

What is going on?

Let’s be honest, nobody likes waking up early. Nobody wants to wake up before the sun rises. But luckily, I have some tips to help you wake up in the morning :)

1. Don’t put your phone (or alarm clock if you use that) too close to your bed when you sleep. Doing this will make you more likely to hit the snooze button and go back to sleep. Having to get up to turn off your alarm will help you wake up and make you less likely to go back to sleep.

2. Start your day by studying the subject you like the most. Doing this will help you wake up, especially if you look forward to the subject. Studying your favorite subject in the morning will get your brain cells flowing and wake you up.

3.  Do not take it slow. You may not agree with this one, but it definitely works. When you wake up, immediately get up and start your morning. If you stay laying down when you wake up, you will most likely fall back asleep. Some things you can do immediately after you get up is get dressed, wash your face, put on makeup, exc.

4. Try an alarm that wakes you up with something cute/useful. Use your favorite song, nature sounds or any other thing that makes you happy. By having an alarm that you like, it will help you wake up in a better mood and make it easier to wake up.

5. Change your alarm sound every week or so. After about a week, your body and mind adapts to the sound of your alarm. You are more likely to sleep through your alarm or snooze the alarm. When you change your alarm sound, it helps you wake up easier.

6. Plan something good for your morning. Plan something that you will looks forward to. By doing this, you will be excited to wake up in the morning to complete your task. Some things you could do is try a new breakfast, try a new makeup look or study for a test!

7. Put out clothes for the next day. Doing this will not only save you time in the morning, but it will also prevent the stress of picking out an outfit. I personally suggest this because it really saves time in the morning and helps me stay motivated in the morning.

8. Set your alarm 10-15 minutes earlier than you want to get out of bed. This gives you some time to wake up and set other alarms to remind you to stay awake. Personally, I like to set several alarms a few minutes apart to keep me awake.

9. Pack your bag for the next day. Like tip #7, this helps you reduce the amount of time it takes to get ready takes. Also, you won’t forget important things when you’re not fully alert in the morning, or waste time rushing around. You will have everything where it needs to be and be prepared for the next day.

10. There will be some days where you will wake up late. You can never predict when you will wake up late, but it happens. Don’t beat yourself down when you wake up late or hit the snooze a few times. It happens. Just make the best of the situation and conquer the day!

I’m gonna be honest. I hate mornings. I’ve always wanted to be a morning person – to wake up early and energized and hop out of bed with no problem. But, instead I wake up most mornings just wanting to go back to bed. Luckily, you don’t have to be a morning person to have a productive morning.

  • Getting out of bed is the hardest part. Start with a realistic time to set your alarm – the days I set my alarm for 6 with good intentions are the days I turn it off and sleep way late. I’m much more likely to actually get out of bed if I set it for a little later. 
  • I like to use an app like Sleep Cycle that wakes you up gently.
  • Or go old school and use an actual alarm clock, and kick your phone out of your room altogether. 
  • As soon as you get out of bed, get dressed and make up your bed. You’ll automatically feel more productive and you’ll be way less likely to go back to sleep. 

first things first

  • It’s hard to be productive on an empty stomach – eat some breakfast as soon as you feel up to it. 
  • I find it hard to eat in the mornings, so I’ll usually have a light snack of fruit with coffee when I first wake up, and then eat something a little heavier around 10.
  • Get moving! whether it’s yoga, a quick run (i salute those of you who can run in the mornings), or just a couple jumping jacks. 
  • Get ready for the day before you get to work. This way you 1) feel more ~human~ and productive right off the bat and 2) won’t have to stop working to get dressed later when you’ve gotten into a groove.

get to work

  • Check your planner and make plan for the day
  • Get all your supplies and your space ready
  • Fill up a water bottle so you can stay hydrated!
  • Put away distractions (install a site blocker if you need to!)
  • Put on some music that makes you feel happy 
  • Knock one or two little tasks off your list first, then go on to the hardest task/one you’re dreading
  • Don’t forget regular breaks so you don’t feel burnt out by lunch!

Sidney Poitier and Diahann Carroll attend The 36th Academy Awards in Santa Monica April 13, 1964.

Diahann Carroll publicly spoke about her 9-year affair with Sidney Poitier in her 2008 book The Legs Are The Last To Go: Aging, Acting, Marrying, and Other Things I Learned The Hard Way. Carroll claims that Poitier persuaded her to divorce her husband Monte Kay, and that Poitier said he would leave his wife to be with her. When Carroll got her divorce, Poitier didn’t keep up his end of the bargain. Carroll said she dated another man out of frustration, which didn’t sit well with Poitier.

“Sidney called me at my hotel … ‘You bitch, whore, tramp,’ he yelled. ‘I know he just left your bed. I won’t have you running around with other men. You belong to me!’” the New York Post quoted her as writing in the book.

She wrote that Poitier later told her he’d finally left his wife, Juanita Hardy. He even bought Carroll a ring and made her decorate a 10-room Riverside Drive apartment he’d bought.

“I was only home a few days when he called to say his wife was having second thoughts. Our wedding plans would have to be postponed,” wrote Carroll.

She added: “When the apartment was ready and I was about to move my daughter in with me, Sidney told me he didn’t want her there … He changed the locks so I couldn’t get in. Then he made me write him a check to offset his purchase and decorating costs. I did as I was told, submissive and desperate.”

Despite her decision to detail their affair, Carroll says Poitier, who did not comment on the book, continues to be her friend.

“Sidney and I are now friends. That’s a lovely thing that comes as you age – forgiveness and perhaps a relaxing of standards,” wrote Carroll.

Night Time Routine

Sometimes it’s really difficult to fall asleep at night. A routine is a wonderful way to tell your brain that it is time to sleep. Here is a example routine, and you can change it or add to it however you need!

1. Set a time.

I think it’s good to have a little wiggle room, in case something comes up. Consider you’re bedtime something like 10-12. Aim for 10, but 12 is the latest.

2. Clean up.

Brush your teeth, wipe of any make up, wash your face, shower if you prefer to do that at night.

3. Go potty.

You don’t want to wake up in the middle of the night to pee.

4. Jammy up.

Pick out your favorite onesie, oversized t-shirt, or whatever it is that you’re most comfortable in.

5. Prepare your army.

Stuffy army of course. Get your bed fixed just how you like it, and pop a paci in.

6. Story time.

If you like bedtime stories, grab your favorite children’s book, or Google it, and enjoy.

7. Turn out the lights…

…and fall asleep.


Optional additions:
Night lights, white noise makers or gentle music, essential oil diffuser with a relaxing smell, take any night time meds you may need.

Frozen, you stared at your husband’s smirking face. Did he feel the same way when he found out that his wife and his best friend have a relationship they shouldn’t actually have?
Was he also disappointed in you like you were in him right now?

The second you felt Jimin lunging forward towards Taehyung, you wrapped your fingers around his wrist, turned him to yourself and whispered. “Don’t..”

Looking into his angry eyes, you tried to ignore what your husband was saying and focused on calming Jimin down by stroking his cheeks gently.

Taehyung, on the other hand, was enjoying the way he was irking Jimin with his stinging words. “What’s wrong, Jimin? Are you angry? You feel uncomfortable, right? Now imagine how I felt whenever I saw my own wife stepping into the hotel room with a smile plastered on her face! Imagine how I felt when I knew that my best friend’s hands were touching my wife’s body!”

Jimin started taking deep breaths and closed his eyes, trying to control his anger. You placed your hands on his ears and leaned your forehead on his. “Don’t listen to him.. Please, let’s just go from here..”

Hearing Taehyung’s voice again, you copied the way Jimin closed his eyes and tried to think about something else.

“Oh, and Y/N. My dear wife. Let me break it to you. I never loved you. Everything was fake, you know. I never wanted to marry you. But you see, money controls everything in this world. And marrying you just happened to be the perfect opportunity to get a hold of that money-”

Just before Taehyung could end his sentence, Jimin yanked your hands away and lunged forward to him, punching his face countlessly without taking a breath.

A loud shriek left your mouth and with that, you felt a sharp pain in your belly.
Bending forward a little bit, you placed your hand on the spot that hurt uncontrollably and gasped loudly when you felt something dripping down your thighs.

The moment you realized what it was, you started sobbing loudly. “J-Jimin!”

Not hearing your shaky voice, Jimin still punched your husband in the face. “J-Jimin, the baby! B-Blood!”

When Jimin heard your shrieking, he turned his head towards you and found you sitting on the ground, hands shaking uncontrollably.

Letting go of his best friend, he run towards you and looked at your bloody hands. “Y-Y/N what’s wrong?! Y/N?!”

Taehyung, on the other hand, stood there frozen with his bruised face, trying to understand what you were saying. “B-Baby? W-What do you mea- H-How?”

Jimin cupped your cheeks with his now bloody hands. “No! Y/N, open your eyes! No! Y/N, please, open your eyes!”

Turning his head to Taehyung, he yelled desperately at him. “Call the ambulance! Do something, damn it!”

Still shocked, Taehyung mumbled to himself. “This can’t be right, this can’t be right. The doctor said- H-How?!”

“Taehyung, stop mumbling and do something!”

“Damn it, Jimin! Y/N can’t get pregnant!”
