Betty and Veronica observe (Y/N) and Jughead’s friendship, Jughead’s signature
grey beanie seeming to be a catalyst for the more flirtatious points in their

Veronica and Betty sat in a booth at Pop’s, each girl
sipping on her own milkshake. They
smiled and laughed as they chatted about random topics, the subject ranging from
schoolwork to their friends. After their
giggles died down from joking about Kevin’s antics, the conversation landed on
the topic of (Y/N) and Jughead.
“So (Y/N) and Jughead have been friends forever, like you
and Archie, right?” Veronica asked.
“Yeah, they’ve been best friends for as long as any of us
could remember,” Betty said, smiling. “They
used to chase each other around everywhere.
It was so cute. I remember this
one time, we were in first grade and the four of us were playing in Archie’s
backyard. Suddenly, Jughead got down on
one knee, took off his beanie, and proposed to (Y/N).”
“No!” Veronica gasped, covering a smile.
“Yes!” Betty giggled.
“Archie and I were so shocked, but (Y/N) just smiled and put on the
beanie. She told him, ‘We’re much too
young to get married, Juggie. Ask me
again when we’re eighteen and I’ll say yes.’”
Veronica laughed and Betty soon joined her. Once their laughter subsided, Veronica’s
wandering eyes found Jughead sitting a few booths away, typing away on his
“Speak of the devil,” she smirked, pointing at him as Betty
turned around to look. He sat by
himself, ignorant to the world as he wrote his story.
“I’m surprised (Y/N)’s not with him,” Betty commented as she
turned back to face Veronica. She shrugged.
“I bet you she’ll walk in within the next ten minutes.”
Sure enough, a few minutes later (Y/N) entered the Chock’lit
Shoppe. She stood by the entrance for a
minute, her eyes scanning the diner.
Finally, she spotted Jughead and walked over to the booth. Sliding into the same seat as Jughead, she
rested her chin on his shoulder. Betty
and Veronica watched as her mouth moved, but they couldn’t hear what she was
“Ugh, I can’t hear them!” Veronica moaned. Betty nodded.
“Me too. Maybe we
could move a bit closer?” she suggested.
“But be subtle about it.” The girls
slowly picked up their milkshake glasses and shifted down a few booths, so now
they were within earshot of Jughead and (Y/N).
Neither of them seemed to notice.
“It’s very well-written,” (Y/N) commented, her eyes scanning
Jughead’s laptop screen. “Very eloquent
and ominous.” The corners of Jughead’s
lips curved upwards, but he didn’t take his eyes off the screen.
“Thanks,” he replied, continuing to type. Betty and Veronica continued to observe their
interactions, watching as Jughead continuously stole (Y/N)’s fries, to which
she would reciprocate with a slap on his arm.
At one point Jughead became so invested in his story that he completely
zoned out, unable to hear (Y/N).
“Juggie,” she pestered him, lightly poking his arm. “Come on, Jughead. Earth to Juggie?” He remained stoic as (Y/N) sighed, leaning
back in the seat. After a moment of
thought, she sprung up again. She
smirked as she snatched the beanie off of Jughead’s head and tugged it onto
hers. That seemed to snap him out of his
trace, because immediately he slammed his laptop shut and reached out to take
it back. (Y/N) giggled and ran out from
their booth, running over to Betty and Veronica. The two girls shifted so it would appear that
they weren’t eavesdropping on their conversation.
“Quick, move,” (Y/N) urged as she squeezed past Betty into
the booth. Jughead slowly approached
their table, his eyes never shifting from (Y/N).
“Give it back,” he demanded as he stood right in front of
the table. Betty and Veronica bit their
lips in an attempt to keep their giggles at bay. (Y/N) shook her head.
“Not unless you let me wear it tomorrow,” she
bargained. Jughead scoffed and crossed
“This isn’t a negotiation,” he told her. He leaned over to grab it off (Y/N)’s head,
but she swatted his arm away.
“This is a
negotiation,” she replied, smirking. “I
have something that we both want. I’m
proposing a fair deal to you. Take it or
leave it.” Jughead released an
exasperated sigh as he looked at Betty and Veronica.
“Can either of you please give that back to me?” he
pleaded. The two girls almost missed the
slight upward twitch of his lips.
Veronica pursed her lips, trying to hide her smile.
“Nope,” she said, popping the ‘p’. “I think it’s a fair deal.” Betty shrugged and nodded.
“I agree,” she stated.
Jughead let out another frustrated groan and (Y/N) smirked.
“The girls have spoken, Juggie. Do we have a deal?” she questioned.
“Fine,” Jughead agreed, rolling his eyes. (Y/N) smirked triumphantly, jumping over the
seat and out to stand next to Jughead.
He grabbed the beanie off her head and placed it onto his. A smirk began to creep onto his face.
“You didn’t make me pinky promise,” he taunted before
retreating back to their table. (Y/N)
huffed in anger as she stomped back to their booth, sitting down across from Jughead
with her arms crossed. Betty and
Veronica broke down into hysterical laughter.
“Oh my god!” Veronica laughed. “They’re like an old married couple!”
“Yeah they are,” Betty giggled. “I still can’t believe they’re just like
friends.” They both shook their heads as
they turned their attention back to (Y/N) and Jughead’s booth. The pair had stood up, Jughead’s laptop
tucked under his arm, and they exited the diner.
The next day at school, Betty and Veronica gave (Y/N)
confused stares as she roamed the hallways sporting Jughead’s signature grey
“That cannot be Jughead’s,” Veronica denied, shutting her
locker. “I mean, there’s no way Jughead
would actually give his beanie to her.
He never takes that thing off.” Betty
gave her a doubtful look.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if he let her wear it,” Betty
replied as they began to walk to the student lounge. “He’s completely smitten with her.”
“He’s more smitten with his hat,” Veronica joked, both girls
Their suspicions were confirmed when they spotted Jughead in
the lounge, raven locks flowing freely.
He wore no beanie. (Y/N) entered
a few minutes later, still wearing Jughead’s beanie. She smirked as she walked over to him. Betty and Veronica turned to face them,
not-so-subtly attempting to eavesdrop on their conversation.
“Can I please have it back?” they heard Jughead whine. (Y/N) grinned and shook her head, putting her
hands over the beanie in case Jughead tried to snatch it off her head.
“I feel like an idiot without it on,” he complained. “Everyone’s giving me weird looks. And normally I don’t mind that, but I’m feeling quite vulnerable and exposed without my beanie.”
“A deal’s a deal, Juggie,” (Y/N) sing-songed, walking over
to sit next to Betty on the couch.
Jughead muttered under his breath and shook his head, but he followed (Y/N)
and leaned against the armrest of the couch.
The four friends chatted and laughed together, and Betty and Veronica
couldn’t help but notice Jughead’s frequent glances at (Y/N) and the wide smile
that never left his face.
Warnings: Angst, kissing, like a makeout kinda part? Is that even a warning?
Description: Jughead seemed off lately, with Jason’s death, and the drive-min closing, reader can tell something is off, but cant really pinpoint what
The first time I could tell something was off was when I mentioned the coffeemaker. It was funny how something as simple as the mention of a coffee pot was the spark of my curiosity towards the situation. “I swear to god, you drink so much coffee, I’m just going to get you a pot for your birthday so you can save some money.” And there it was, the slight twitch in his shoulders and the split second of a tense look on his face before he began laughing along. It was so quick, I was surprised I even caught it, but I did. I never asked about Jughead’s home life. He always steered clear of it so I figured it was a touchy subject. I wondered why I hadn’t been invited over in… well…. ever. Then I started putting together the bits and pieces of information and realized: I hadn’t a clue what roof Jughead was sleeping under at night. Obviously, it was time to investigate. And I had the perfect opportunity one afternoon. “Shit, I forgot my textbook at home.” Jughead muttered, his head ducked down and searching in his schoolbag. “We can walk to your house and get it if you want.” There it was, the tense-up. Jughead froze in his tracks for a split second before regaining his composure and kept walking. To anybody else, it would have looked normal, but I wasn’t anyone else. I was his best friend, and he was the boy I was in love with. “No, it’s fine. I can just use yours, right?” Jughead looked at me with almost pleading eyes, and I didn’t want to egg him on any longer. I wanted him to open up and tell me the truth, not shut me out. “Yeah, of course.” I smiled up at my friend and he smiled back reassuringly. Deep down, I knew something was wrong. And a week later, I began to confirm those suspicions. “Can you believe they’re shutting down the drive-in?!” Jughead screeched at me one morning as I walked up the front steps of our school. “Wait, what?” I gave him a confused look. “Yeah! Apparently an “anonymous buyer” gave the mayor an offer she just couldn’t refuse” Jughead through his hands up in dramatic sarcasm before scoffing and folding them over his chest angrily. “Juggie, I’m sorry you’re going to lose your job, but- “ “it’s more than just my job, y/n!” Jughead paused for a second. I watched his Addams apple move quickly as he gulped down words that were threatening to pour out of his mouth. “It’s, it’s, it’s a special place! It’s special to us! I took you there when you first moved here! Remember?!” “Yeah.” I laughed, thinking back to the memories of Jug and I sneaking up to the film roll room and watching through the peek hole while Jughead made sure the tapes were switched out on time. “hello?! Earth to y/n?” Jughead waved his face in front of me, and I brought myself out of my quick trip to the past, listening to Jugheads rambling about the drive- in. Jughead brought it up later to our friends as we ate at pop’s, inviting Veronica, Kevin, Betty and I to the last drive in on Friday. Of course, they all agreed to go, and we all planned who we would drive with. I decided to walk with Jughead, and Kevin was taking Veronica. Betty was going to go with Archie. “I’m going to go to the mayor again and see if I can convince her to keep the drive- in.” Jughead told me as we began to part ways that night. I grabbed his sleeve, pulling me back to him. “Jughead, why is the Twilight drive-in so important to save?” I asked him, my voice soft and full of concern. “It’s my job, y/n! I thought that might be an importantthing to try and save!” Jughead’s words dripped with sarcasm as he yelled at me. He never usually got angry like this. “Ok, I’ll see you at school tomorrow, good luck.” I spoke softly as I backed away slowly. I watched Jughead’s face go from angry to apologetic and walked away before he could say anything. Jughead and I didn’t really speak much for the next few days. We still walked to class together, and he walked me home. He told me that the Mayor just wouldn’t listen to him or give his words any consideration, so I tried going to her myself the day after he did to change her mind. “Hello, miss- “I opened the door to her office slowly, speaking with the politest tone I could manage. “Miss y/l/n, I’m sorry, but the drive in is closing, and that’s final.” The mayor cut me off with a firm but somewhat polite tone. “I’m sorry to bother you, this is just really important to Jughead. I just wanted to at least try and change your mind.” “That’s quite alright, miss y/l/n.” The mayor smiled at me, staring at me for another moment before speaking again. “Jughead is… special. He doesn’t have a lot of friends, certainly not any that would at least try to help him with something like this. I’m sorry I can’t save the drive in. I wish I could, for your sake and Jughead’s, but… “The mayor sighed, rubbing the side of her head with her thumb and forefinger. “Thank you for your time.” I nodded, beginning to exit the Mayor’s office. “Y/n?” I turned to the sound of the mayor’s voice. “Jughead is lucky to have a friend like you.” “Thank you, Mayor.” I exited the office, my shoulders heavy. The night of the drive-in, I rode to the lot with Kevin and Veronica, meeting up with Jughead. I found him by the snack counter and smiled as I watched him talk aimlessly with the boy in the booth. “Hey, Jug.” I greeted my best friend and the boy he was talking to. “Hey, y/n/n.” Jughead wrapped an arm around me, hugging me tightly. I wrapped my arms around his waist, my head leaning against his chest. “How are you feeling?” I asked him, my voice muffled by his shirt. Jughead shrugged before looking down at me with a small smile on his face. “Could be better, but you’re here, so I guess I’m not under a complete raincloud of doom.” “Oh, so just a small one then?” I teased, grinning up at him. “Yeah, it’s kinda just lingering somewhere behind me, ready to open up and strike me with a lightning bolt at any given moment.” I laughed at Jughead’s comment. “Are you gonna come lay with us on the truck?” I asked him, a pleading look on my face. I grabbed his hand and began tugging him toward Kevin’s truck. Jughead sucked in a breath before giving in. “Fine, Fine, I guess I’ll be angsty and depressed in the back of the truck instead of in the film room.” I jumped happily before intertwining Jughead’s hand with mine and pulling him towards the back of the truck. Veronica and Kevin sat curled up in blankets and scooted over so Jughead and I could sit next to them. “Ah, it’s the official partners in crime, the tag team, the endgame, the- “ “I thought Archie and Betty were endgame?” I cut off Kevin before he could throw another couple reference at jughead and I. “Yes, but that was before he got vocal with our music teacher.” Kevin grinned at his subtle pun and I rolled my eye. “Ok, no Archie, no Ms. Grundy, no endgames, let’s just enjoy the drive in while we can, alright?” Veronica handed Jughead and I a blanket. I climbed in to Jughead’s lap and rested my back against his chest and he wrapped the blanket around us, his arms going around my waist under the cloth. “Thank you,” Jughead whispered in my ear. “For what?” I whispered back, grabbing the popcorn Veronica handed me. “The mayor told me you stopped by to see her.” Jughead whispered to me. I turned around to face him and he was looking up at the big drive in screen, the lights reflecting off his face and casting shadows under his eyes and chin. He looked painstakingly beautiful. Jughead’s eyes flickered down to look at me and he smirked a bit before looking back up at the screen. We stayed almost the whole night, watching movie after movie. The only time Jughead left was to go switch out the rolls as the credits came after the end of every showing. He would re-appear five minutes later, and I would lift the blanket as he hopped over the side of Kevin’s truck and resumed his prior position, his arms wrapped around me and his chin on my shoulder. At 4 in the morning, the credits to the last movie rolled, with only a few cars left on the lot. Veronica and Kevin were leaned against each other as they snored lightly, and my back rested against Jughead’s chest. I looked up at the mesmerizing boy. He had a hard look on his face and his jaw was clenched, his eyes glossy and shiny, the credits from the screen reflecting off his pupils. “Jughead?” I spoke softly, my eyes on the raven-haired boy. He kept his gaze on the screen ahead of him. “Jughead, the construction people will be here soon, we have to go.” “You guys go, I’m gonna hang around a little longer.” Jughead pulled away from me, climbing out of the truck and disappearing around the side of it. I turned to my friends, shaking them lightly to wake them up. Kevin woke first, carrying a still-sleeping Veronica around to the passenger seat and lying her in it. I grabbed my blanket and my backpack and swung it over my shoulder and waited at the driver’s side of the vehicle. “Aren’t you and Jughead coming?” Kevin asked me, walking around to the front of the car where I stood. “No, Jughead said he wanted to stay a bit longer, so I’ll wait with him.” I hugged my friend before he climbed in to the driver’s side. “Hey, if you guys do it in the film room, I want details.” Kevin grinned devilishly before starting the car and driving away. I just shook my head, laughing at his comment. I made my way to the wall of the film room and leaned against it, folding my blanket. I pulled the bag off my shoulder, sticking the blanket inside. I waited for Jughead for another hour or so, playing on my phone mindlessly. I figured he was soaking up what he could of the film room before Mr. Andrews’ company teared it to shreds. The drive- in was his favorite place in town, besides the chock-lit shoppe. I watched as the sky started to get lighter and I checked the time. 6:08 A.M. It wasn’t like I had never pulled an all-nighter before, and I wasn’t going to leave until I at least made sure Jughead was alright and home safe. I leaned back against the building, hearing birds chirping as the sun rose. Minutes later, I heard a voice from the other side of the building, and I turned my head, kicking off the wall with my heel and poking my head slightly around the corner. I saw the back of Jughead, and he was facing a man that looked familiar. Jughead had what looked like a camper bag hanging off his back, a poster sticking out of it. “They’ll tear that booth down, too. Raise the whole place, send it to the junkyard.” The man in front of Jughead spoke, a smile playing on his lips.” And us with it.” “Yeah, maybe they’ll save it. All the pieces. Store it in the town hall attic and rebuild it in a hundred years. Wonder who the hell we were.” I could almost picture the bittersweet smile on Jug’s face. “Hmm.” The man smiled a bit more before his face became serious. “So where are you gonna live now?” My heart stopped, a million emotions and realizations hitting me like a bus. “I’ll figure it out dad, I always do.” I watched Jughead walked past him, walking towards the entrance of the drive in. I snuck around the other side of the building, making my way towards the entrance. I managed to beat Jughead to it and stood at the gate, my arms crossed as I waited for the boy I loved. Jughead came around the corner, stopping in his tracks when he saw me. He had what looked like a busted look in his face as I stood there, a blank expression matching the hurt, worry, and concern for the boy. “Y/n… what are you still doing here? I thought you-?” Jughead asked me, hoping I hadn’t caught on to what was going on. “When exactly were you planning on telling me that you were homeless?” I cut him off, my tone of voice coming off as if I were a concerned mother. Jughead opened his mouth, trying to find the words to speak, but gave up, closing it instead. “Juggie? Really? I’m your best friend! We tell each other everything? Why would you keep this from me? More importantly, why aren’t you staying with your father? Is he homeless too? Did he kick you out? What is going on, Forsythe?! Tell me!” I paced back and forth as I rambled, before turning to look at Jughead. He looked down at the dirt underneath his shoes, His hand wrapped around the strap of his bag. I waited for an answer, my arms spread wide in front of me as I stared at him. Jughead said something that I couldn’t make out. “What?” I spoke, encouraging him to repeat himself. Jughead lifted his head, the rims of his eyes a dark pink and tears falling down his face. My face dropped quickly, my heart clenching tightly as I looked at the broken boy in front of me. “I said,” Jughead lifted his sleeve to wipe his running nose.” I don’t have ahome.” His voice cracked slightly and more tears fell down Jughead’s face as he dropped the bag from his shoulder. “Jughead.” I dropped my bag as well and quickly ran to the boy, trying to keep my tears from falling as I wrapped my arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. Jughead wrapped his arms around my waist, burying his face in to my neck and quietly crying. We stood there for a few minutes, my one hand rubbing his back and my other pulling off his hat so I could run my fingers through his hair, doing everything I knew in my power that could soothe him. “Jughead, Hey, Jug.” My hands cupped his cheeks, rubbing the tears away from his eyes while mine began to fall freely.” Listen to me, you are not homeless, ok? And you will never, ever, be homeless, as long as I am alive and breathing.” I stopped for a second to inhale quickly, my nose stuffed.” You are going to come with me to Pop’s, and I’m going to buy us breakfast, and then we are going to go back to my house, and you’re going to take a shower, because lord knows how long it’s been since you’ve had one,” Jughead chuckled lightly at my statement and I also let out a breathy laugh.” And then you’re going to crawl in to the guest bed, and you’re going to get some sleep, because it literally exhausts me every time I see those bags under your eyes. And you’re going to stay with me, ok?” Jughead nodded silently, knowing that this was a losing battle. “And this never. Happens. Again. You got it? God, Jug, something terrible could have happened to you. We’ve got a murderer waltzing around town, do you know how easily you could have been killed?” I scolded, more tears falling down my face. I backed away from Jughead, going to grab my bag. “I don’t know how I can ever survive without you, ever! I would have dropped dead if anything ever happened to you! You’re the most important thing in this entire world to me! I don’t even know how- “Jughead grabbed my arm, turning me to face him before leaning down and planting his lips on mine. I stood still for a second, processing the shock of the gesture before wrapping my arms back around his neck and pulling his body closer to mine. Jughead wrapped his arms around my waist, his lips moving against mine. After a few moments, we pulled apart, my chest rising and falling as I caught my breath. “Jughead, I- “Apparently, Jughead wasn’t done, because he pressed his lips to mine again, taking my breath away once more. We stood at the gate of the drive in for a little while longer, Jughead pushing me backwards until my back was against the fence and his body was pressed firmly against mine. We broke apart when we heard a man clear his throat. “Uh, we’re gonna have to ask you to leave the premises.” The man spoke politely.” Construction begins soon.” “Oh, sorry sir.” I apologized quickly, fixing my hair that Jughead had his fist tangled in moments ago, and grabbed my bag. Jughead did the same, grabbing my hand and leading me away from the drive in and down the street towards Pop’s. We stopped at my house so we could drop off our bags and began our trek to the 24-hour diner. “Hey, Jughead.” I looked up at the boy as we walked hand in hand to the diner. “I love you.” “I love you too.” Jughead looked down at me, smiling warmly. “No, Jughead, I- “ “I know, and I love you, too.” I stopped walking, causing Jughead to stop as well. Jughead looked down at me and I leaned up, pressing another kiss to his lips. Jughead and I made it to the diner soon after, spotting Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Kevin at a booth. When they saw us, they invited us to sit and Archie and Kevin grabbed chairs from another table. “So, did anything happen in the film room?” Kevin wiggled his eyebrows at me as Jughead and I slid in to the booth. I slapped his shoulder before glaring at him. “Nah, nothing happened in the film room.” Jughead paused momentarily before speaking again.” It happened outside the film room.” Kevin’s mouth dropped open wide. “You kinky fuckers!” Kevin hollered. The table laughed as I turned red in embarrassment. I felt Jughead’s hand grab mine under the table and I smiled, my fingers intertwining with his. He would always have a home, and it would be with me.

There’s something beautiful about the summer- they way it creates a new version of reality where music sounds better and happiness feels sweeter. Parties can give the same kind of feeling where nothing feels real, but all of it feels great. Well, until the next morning.
This makes an end of the summer party the pinnacle of a new reality. Inhibitions run low and everything else is on overdrive. In a week they will all be students again, studying to ensure the best future possible. But for tonight they are 60% alcohol and 40% bad decisions.
“Y/N!” Jess squeals with excitement, running towards the girl who just entered the room. She had been away visiting family abroad for the majority of the summer, and while the beaches had given a whole new meaning to the word ‘paradise’, this was where she was truly happiest.
“Jess!” she returns the enthusiasm, hugging her best friend tightly. The warm breezes that blew in through her window every morning this past summer brought her comfort, but this was home.
“I want in,” Justin grins, approaching the two and enveloping them between his arms.
“God I’ve missed you guys,” she sighs contentedly.
“You have so much third wheeling to catch up on,” Jess teases light heartedly.
Her face twists up unpleasantly at the thought. She loves both Jess and Justin dearly, but she does not love the thought of third wheeling. “With all due respect, I think I’ll pass.”
“Is that Y/N Y/L/N?!” a fourth voice enters the picture, causing the trio to part and turn towards the person walking towards them.
Jeff Atkins. Baseball star and literal ray of sunshine with the face of an angel and the body of a Greek God.
“Hey, Jeff,” she laughs, walking away from Jess and Justin to meet him halfway.
“I haven’t seen you in forever,” Jeff grins warmly, brushing her arm with his hand. It’s a sweet gesture. He’s always been so sweet.
“It’s only been like two months,” she mirrors his grin. It’s impossible not to smile back at someone who radiates warmth the way he does.
“Feels like forever though. Especially since I was used to seeing you everyday at school. You look nice by the way,” he bumps her shoulder.
“I missed you, too,” she chuckles, “I look like I always do.”
She bites her lips together before looking down shyly and letting them fall apart into a smile. Jeff Atkins was so genuinely good in a way that was uniquely him.
“Jeff!” Troy yells from the outside patio, “Beer pong, now, c’mon man!”
“Coming!” Jeff yells back to Troy, but turns back to her before walking away. “Come watch us play? You can practice cheering me on for baseball season,” his mouth twists into a smirk.
“Who says I’m gonna come to your baseball games?” She challenges playfully, using quick wit to redeem herself from the shy smile.
“Don’t break my heart, Y/N,” he pouts childishly, walking backward to join the boys for a game of beer pong but not breaking eye contact with her. He finally turns away from her to exit the house and join those outside, but not before mouthing a “pleaasssseeee” and sticking out his bottom lip.
“I’ll be there in a second!” she yells so he can hear her over the music.
His pout transforms into a grin before he disappears through the threshold, indicating that he heard her.
“So how about a double date instead of third wheeling?” Justin and Jess approach her with Justin wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
“Oh shut up,” her face heats up at the thought, “He’s a nice guy. He’s friendly with everyone.”
“Yeah, but he doesn’t flirt with everyone,” Jess interjects, crossing her arms over her chest vindictively.
“He didn’t ask me to cheer for him,” Justin fakes offense, “Honestly I’m a little hurt.”
“Fuck off, Justin,” she laughs loudly, putting her hands over her face.
“You better get out there,” Justin presses, gesturing to the sliding door, “After all, it’s mine and Jess’s two month anniversary so an intense make-out session could happen at anytime.”
“Bye!” she turns on her heels quickly, running away from her friends before they could make things awkward, or more awkward.
*** Five cups of jungle juice and two games of beer pong later she’s sitting on a folding lawn chair watching Jeff singlehandedly win a third game of beer pong since Troy had wandered off and was bothering Hannah and Clay.
After sinking another shot, Jeff notices where Troy had gone. A brief look of panic flashes across his face before he mutters a quick, “be right back!”, making a beeline for Troy. Jeff was just about as invested in Clay and Hannah as Clay was in Hannah. She wondered just how much better off the world would be if everyone had the same heart as Jeff.
“Did you save the day?” she asks upon Jeff’s return. She’s quite drunk and seeing two of everything, including two Jeffs. How wonderful would that be? A world with two Jeff Atkins. Incredible.
“I don’t know about that,” he chuckles modestly, “It’s up to Clay.”
“Meanwhile that beer run is up to you, buddy” Troy points out, his words slurring together.
“Later man,” Jeff replies, picking up a ping pong ball.
“Because you definitely need more alcohol,” she rolls her eyes at Troy, a sick feeling blossoming in her stomach.
“Don’t be a buzzkill, Y/N,” Troy retorts.
“Hey, relax,” Jeff snaps at Troy, “you’ll get your beer.”
The sick feeling in her stomach intensifies tenfold. She doesn’t want him to go, but she can’t beg him to stay. He’s not drunk, he would never jeopardize his life or anyone else’s so recklessly. But something about it still doesn’t feel right. He shouldn’t go.
She stands up, wobbling slightly. She grabs the back of her lawn chair to steady herself before heading back for the house. The twisting in her stomach is ominous in a way that refuses to be ignored.
“Where’re you going?” Jeff asks, his eyebrows knitting together.
“I need another drink,” she mumbles, brushing past him.
*** Three shots and a game of suck and blow later she’s feeling light and airy. All the anxiety from earlier has been replaced with a tingling feeling that reaches her feet. She’s quite hammered, and all the slip ups in suck and blow have her laughing and her sides aching. She’s starting to get lightheaded.
“I’m gonna go get some air,” she gasps in-between fits of laughter.
“Can you even walk?” Jess giggles.
“I’ll crawl if I have to,” she shrugs, stumbling her way out the door.
*** There’s nothing like the refreshing sensation of cool air hitting your skin after being cooped up in a house full of drunks, especially when you’re drunk yourself. The feeling of a breeze on her face is intoxicating in its own right, so she continues to walk around the outside of the house until she reaches the front.
There’s someone else at the front of the house, too. She can only see their back as they walk towards the row of cars, but she knows who it is. Suddenly she remembers why she felt the need to down three shots of vodka.
“Atkins,” she calls out, stumbling a bit as she walks forward.
He turns around at the sound of his name, smiling when he sees who it is. “Hey, you. Looks like you got that drink you wanted,” he laughs lightheartedly at her shaky balance.
“You making that beer run?” she asks, wringing her hands together nervously.
“Yeah. I’m not even a little buzzed, don’t worry,” he says soothingly.
“Stay,” she says softly.
“Huh?” he tilts his head to the side.
She continues to walk forward until she’s standing right in front of him, her weight falling to the side enough to make her falter. He reaches out to steady her, keeping a firm grasp on her side. She places her hands on his chest to steady herself before locking her eyes on his.
“Stay,” she repeats.
“Y/N, it’s okay I’m completely fine I promise. I only had two beers like two hours ago,” he assures, his voice gentle.
“I know, but it’s not like anybody needs anymore alcohol. I’m one of the more sober ones right now and that says a lot. Honestly I don’t even know how I made it out here on my own,” she sighs, “Just stay, please. ”
He looks at her softly, his eyes studying the worry etched onto her face. She feels so delicate in his grasp, like a porcelain doll that could shatter with too much pressure. He has always been enamored with her.
“Okay,” he moves his hands to hold her face, “I’ll stay.”
She lets out a heavy breath, letting her forehead rest against his chest and wrapping her arms around him. Maybe she was worrying over nothing, maybe she wasn’t, but she’s unexplainably relieved at those words.
“You gotta promise to watch me play baseball though,” he teases.
“I’ll be there every game with a sign that has your name on it,” she laughs, tilting her chin up to look at him.
“You gotta stop looking at me like that,” he shakes his head,“I might just fall in love with you.”
“Don’t get my hopes up.”
“Don’t leave for two months at a time,” he counters, grinning boyishly.
“I’d stay right here forever if I could,” she tightens her arms around him.
“I’d kiss you if you weren’t like 10 drinks deep right now,” he laughs, rubbing her back gingerly.
“Let’s go inside. I need to get sober. Right now. Immediately,” she pulls away, grabbing his hand to tow him behind her. Their laughter echoes down the empty street as they run around to the back of the house.
There’s something beautiful about the end of summer- the way things begin to feel more permanent. A simple request can change so much. All he had to do was stay. And he did.

(Y/N), Betty, and Archie were running around, playing in the
park. Their giggles resonated through
the neighborhood, all the people down the street able to hear the children
perfectly. Archie’s dad sat on a bench,
supervising them from afar. He smiled at
the three kids, happy to see his son so content with his friends. Suddenly, (Y/N) halted, interrupting their
game of tag.
“Look over there,” she said, pointing her finger. She was pointing at another kid who appeared
to be their age, scrawny and alone. He
sat on a swing and stared down at his shoes.
There was a grey beanie perched on his head, but it was much too big on
“(Y/N),” Betty hissed, “my mom said it’s rude to point.”
“Fine,” (Y/N) replied, putting her finger down. “I won’t point.” Instead, she marched over to the lonesome
boy. His head snapped up when he heard
footsteps approaching him. “Hi,” she
“Hi,” he replied, looking puzzled as to why this girl was
talking to him.
“What’s your name?” she asked.
“That’s a funny name,” she laughed, but she noticed his
angered face and stopped. “I’m (Y/N).” Jughead nodded. “How old are you, Jughead?”
“I’m four,” he replied, sticking out his hand to show the
number on his fingers. (Y/N) beamed.
“I’m four, too!”
Jughead smiled at her and the two children fell into a small
silence. Finally, (Y/N) broke it when
she asked, “Why are you alone?”
“My sister is sick,” he responded, slouching. “So now I have no one to play with.”
“You can play with us!” (Y/N) offered, pointing at her two
friends who were watching from afar.
Jughead’s face lit up.
“Really?” he asked, jumping off the swing. (Y/N) nodded enthusiastically.
“Really! And then we
can all be best friends.” She grabbed
his hand and led him over to Archie and Betty.
“Archie, Betty, this is Jughead.”
“Hi,” Betty smiled, sticking out her hand. Jughead tentatively shook it. “I’m Betty.”
“And I’m Archie,” he waved.
Jughead waved back. The children
quickly resumed their game of tag, this time, Jughead joining them. They played for hours until the sky began to
darken, Riverdale turning orange under the sunset’s light.
“Kids!” Archie’s dad called out, standing up from the
bench. “It’s time to go.” The four kids exchanged bittersweet smiles,
waving goodbye to their newfound friend.
After that day, Betty, Archie, and (Y/N) started begging to
go to the park every day from dawn till dusk.
The four of them soon became attached at the hip, and you could not see
one person without the other three close behind. Soon, all of Riverdale grew fond of the tight-knitted
Two years later, the four inseparable friends found
themselves in Archie’s backyard. Their shrieks
of delight filled Mr. Andrews, who was watching from inside the kitchen, with
warmth. They had just grown bored of a
game of hide-and-seek, and while Betty and Archie just sat in the grass,
Jughead and (Y/N) continued to chase each other around. Suddenly, Jughead stopped, causing (Y/N) to
turn around. He took off his beanie and,
grinning madly, got down on one knee.
Betty and Archie gasped as they ran over to watch.
“(Y/N),” Jughead started, holding out his beaning like a
ring, “will you marry me?” (Y/N) beamed
as she stared at her best friend. She
took the beanie from his hands and placed it on her head, then helped Jughead
“We’re much too young to get married, Juggie,” she
responded, and Jughead deflated. “But-”
he perked up, “ask me again when we’re eighteen and I’ll say yes.”
“You promise?” Jughead asked, holding out his pinky. (Y/N) smiled and nodded, hooking her pinky
Flash forward twelve years, after the first proposal and
Jason Blossom’s death. Past the beanie
incident and the flannel, jacket, and sweater incidents. After the kiss at Pop’s, and many more that
happened after that night.
Twelve years after Jughead proposed to (Y/N) with a grey
beanie, they graduated. Through the
years, their friend group grew to include others, such as Kevin and Veronica. After the graduation ceremony, they went to
the Lodge’s house for a celebration. The
party was in full swing: music blasting from the speakers, snacks filling up
tables, and graduated high school students dancing everywhere. (Y/N) had managed to get Jughead on the dance
floor, both of them laughing at each other’s lack of dancing skills. She wore his grey beanie and a wide grin.
The party began to die down, everyone growing tired after
their long day. Most people were sitting
on the couch, quietly chatting amongst themselves. (Y/N) sat on Jughead’s lap as they both
conversed with Betty and Veronica.
Suddenly, Jughead got up from under (Y/N).
“Excuse me, can I have everyone’s attention?” he yelled,
successfully silencing the guests. “Thank
you. Now if you didn’t happen to already
know this, (Y/N) and I have been together for quite a while.” Everyone in the room chuckled. (Y/N) looked up at Jughead with a puzzled
“What are you doing, Juggie?” she whispered, although
everyone was able to hear her. Jughead
winked at her and continued.
“But something most of you probably didn’t know is that I
proposed to (Y/N).” The crowd gasped
dramatically, and Jughead smirked. “When
we were six.” Everyone rolled their eyes
and laughed. Jughead grabbed (Y/N)’s
hand and made her stand up with him. “And
she said no! Something about how we were
too young,” he scoffed, and she giggled.
“But she did promise me she’d say yes one day. When we were eighteen, in fact.” He got down on one knee, and everyone gasped,
“Oh my god,” she muttered under her breath, her hands
covering her mouth in shock. Tears began
to cloud her eyes.
“(Y/N),” Jughead began, fishing around in his pocket. “I have loved you since the day I proposed to
you. For a long time after that, I
thought we were just friends, and I thought that you liked it that way. And it took me a long while to realize it,
but with the help of some of our friends-” Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Kevin
shared a smirk, “I realized that we were meant to be more. Now, I’m gonna try this again, and I’m hoping
this time you’ll say yes. Because, you
know, you pinky promised you would when we were six.” Jughead pulled out a small box and opened it,
revealing a beautiful, sparkling ring. “(Y/N),”
he asked, eyes full of hope, “will you marry me?”
(Y/N) couldn’t speak.
She gleefully nodded, attempting to wipe some of the tears off her face.
“Yes,” she finally managed to choke out, laughing. “Yes, of course, Juggie.” The whole room burst into cheers, and Jughead
shot up, placed the ring on (Y/N)’s finger, and kissed her.
Betty turned to Veronica, smiles plastered on both of their
faces, and whispered, “Thank god for that beanie.”

Authors Note: Hey guys! Just to let you know, the boys’ dialogue is written in italics, I’m sorry for any confusion and I hope you enjoy :)
To you Justin Foley was the new boy next door. He was cheeky and incredibly flirtatious with you, even when he caught your eye at school he still managed to make you smile. Your parents initially had their personal reservations about Justin because of his troublesome background but they soon came around to loving him, as did you. Justin would always catch you on your way to school so you two could walk in together “Morning, beautiful” “Sup, Foley”
Being a new transfer student to Liberty High, you were surprised to have received an invite to the upcoming weekend house party. Despite parties not being your favourite social setting you figured it would be the best way to meet new people and make friends. Here, you met Alex. The boy with the impeccable fashion taste and sarcastic tongue. “Hey, it’s Y/N right?” “Yeah, Alex? I think you’re in my music class?” “ That’s me, it’s nice to see someone with some social depth at one of these things” “Thanks, I’m guessing you’re having copious amounts of fun then?” “It’s a party, so I’m pretending to have fun. (see gif) Now that you’re here though I might not have to pretend”
Over the summer your parents had practically forced you to take a job at the towns local theatre, in an attempt to help grow your independence as well as simply getting you out of the house; a decision you honestly didn’t feel too fondly about. The only positive to your first day at work was meeting Clay. Clay Jenson. He was adorably awkward and sweet, making you physically unable to stop smiling whenever you were around him. Somehow this one guy made the rest of your working summer seem exciting. “Hey Clay, maybe I was wrong. Maybe this summer won’t suck that much after all.” “It won’t, well… not if I can help it, Y/N.”
Your best friend Clay Jenson had lost yet another bet with his older friend, Jeff Atkins. Thus resulting in the both of you attending a generic and seemingly underwhelming high school party. Personally, you had never had the pleasure of meeting Jeff until that unexpectedly amazing night. Clay had always admired the guy, which made Jeff’s perfect first impression to you even more genuine. The two of you instantly hit it off. “I’m sorry Jenson but where on earth have you been hiding Y/N? She’s crazy beautiful.”
Despite seeing Zach around the corridors of Liberty High and catching his more than impressive performance in the odd couple of basketball games, the two of you had never really been given the opportunity to speak. That was until Mrs Bradley decided to pair you two up for a class project. Zach was a lot sweeter than you had imagined and the two of you ended up getting along really well. “Not going to lie, Y/N, I’m kinda sad this little project is over.” “Really?” “Yeah, now I need to find another good excuse to hang out with you everyday.”
A/n: This is an updated version of an imagine I’ve previously uploaded. I know Hendall is so 2015. I get it.

The red wine leaves a particular stain on Harry’s lips that he hadn’t noticed until Kendall pointed it out to him.
“It looks like you’re wearing lipstick” she laughs, “I didn’t know you were going to dress up this much for the party.”
They are currently sat at his mum’s kitchen island, drinking red wine while munching on some chips left out for the guests. The house is filled with familiar faces, friends and family all throughout London coming together for Anne’s birthday celebration.
They hosted one every year for as long as Harry could remember, a time of year where nearly every one of his family members, including his step family, would unite. It was their favorite time of year, believe it or not. Despite all the excitement for the holidays, Anne’s birthday celebration was certainly something special.
It was Kendall’s first time attending, considering the fact that Harry had only really talked to her whenever he was assigned to be with her for publicity. It wasn’t always ideal, however, he built a stable friendship with her, so he didn’t mind the extra company with him from time to time.
She was invited last minute, of course, since his management called last night to ask if there was any way for them to be seen together. With Harry’s new movie coming out and his solo album just released a couple weeks ago, it was almost a given for him to be rumored with a girlfriend. That’s how it’s worked all throughout his career.
He normally wouldn’t have minded, however, this was the worst possible date for him to be with Kendall.
Because it’s Anne’s birthday party, this means that it’ll be the first time in one year that he’ll be seeing Y/n. They have been best friends since they were five years old, basically growing up in the same house as they went through school together. But as time went on, and as they both went to their separate ways, it was hard to keep in touch with each other all the time.
She remained in the small towns of London while Harry was traveling world wide, where his name became known everywhere as Y/n’s was only known through people she attended school with. Of course, they still talked, considering they both admitted to having more than friendship feelings, but their lives were busy in their own ways, preventing them from being more than what they wanted to be.
For the past couple months, Harry planned that this would be the day he’d finally move forward with Y/n. Or, at least attempt to. With the loss of her over the past year, it made Harry realize just how much he couldn’t imagine a life without her. It had been so long—too long, and he couldn’t stand how long he’s lived without keeping in touch with her.
But now, everything he planned for the two of them is becoming impossible. He can’t begin to imagine how Y/n would feel knowing he brought Kendall to his mum’s birthday party after they both confessed their love for each other. In all honesty, he wouldn’t blame her for giving up on him. He keeps doing this to her, even if it’s unintentional.
He watches around the kitchen at the guests he hasn’t seen in quite a while. His leg bounces with impatience when each new person walking in to attend the party isn’t Y/n. It’s been nearly an hour and has never been so late to anything before.
And as horrible as it sounds, he almost wishes she doesn’t come, just so that she can avoid the heartbreak that will come when she reunites with Kendall again.
“I’m sorry I’m late!”
Harry’s head whips around when he hears the voice he’s been deprived of for the past year. The first thing he notices are her lips, and the way they move around her words so softly. They’re slightly glazed with a lipgloss, painting her lips with a rosy shade of pink. They look so much fuller to him now, but he knows not a trace of them are artificial.
His eyes only drift from the shape of her lips when her fingers reach to tuck loose pieces of hair behind her ear. It’s then he notices just how much shorter her hair has gotten. What was once so long and lank is now falling just above the shoulder, set in luscious curls he can only imagine twisting around his fingers.
His jaw goes slack when he sees the pale pink dress she’s wearing. It’s made from silk, the metallic fabric glowing with each step she takes. He gulps when he notices just how much the dress accentuates the curvature of her body and how much of her legs are put on display for him to see, and he can’t help but to wipe the sweat off his palms when he watches her greet his mother with a proper kiss on the cheek.
He notices that his eyes haven’t shut since he’s seen her, but he’s so completely intrigued by how much has changed in her. Something about her seems so much more real—so much more vibrant—and he can’t seem to stop himself from praising how time has done her so goddamn well.
“You never told me she was going to be here.“
His body jerks at Kendall’s sudden appearance, her body slowly occupying the seat next to his at the kitchen island. If it wasn’t for her, he swears he would have caught himself drooling.
“Didn’t think I had to,” he says with a shrug, “she’s been my best friend since we were five. She’s basically apart of this family, she wouldn’t have missed this for the world.”
Y/n hasn’t missed a single one of Anne’s birthday celebrations since she’s known Harry. Their bond is irreplaceable—so irreplaceable, in fact, that Anne has been convinced Y/n is a miracle for their family. She was there for them through all the troubled times; helping them through their hardships and family instabilities.
When Anne and her husband first got divorced, Harry and Y/n were seven. Harry didn’t understand much of what was happening, all he knew was that his mum and dad weren’t going to love each other anymore. He was hurting, even when Gemma was there to try and keep him together. He started to believe everything between his parents was a lie.
She understood the whole separation process. Her mum left her at a young age, leaving her alone with her father. They were close, of course, but she always missed having a mother figure in her life. It made her upset to know she could only listen to one voice in the house, but as she grew older, she accepted it more.
By the time she met Harry, he kept bringing her over to his house as the years went on. Anne was the closest she had to mother, and their bond became unbreakable by the time Y/n was a teenager. Nearly seven years of Y/n being like another member of the family, Y/n started buying Anne Mother’s Day cards.
So when Y/n watched her second family fall apart, along with Anne’s heart, and she was determined to patch them back together again. Even at her young age, she’d pick flowers from her garden and give them to Anne everyday after school. Y/n said they represented her, and how she felt being a woman with such love and beauty could die all too quickly. Harry never understood what it meant, but Y/n did, which is why she never stopped until she heard Anne laughing again.
She also started to draw pictures and write her letters, reminding her of how loved she was by everyone. As much as Anne was heartbroken during the time, she took the letters everywhere she went and kept every flower alive for as long as she possibly could. Anne would always tell Harry “That girl came into our lives for a reason, my love. She’s a special one, our little miracle, never let her go. You hear me?”
Harry didn’t understand what it truly meant to let someone go, but he did his best to do anything but that. And now, as Harry sits on his mother’s kitchen island and seeing Y/n for the first time in a year, he feels he’s done just that.
“Guess not.” Kendall mutters, taking her last sip of the red wine left in her glass. “She’s just so strange, I guess. I can barely hold a conversation with her without her making an excuse to leave.”
Kendall and Y/n never really got along, it was extremely noticeable to everyone who held a conversation with the both of them. They just don’t see things in the same light. Y/n is very outgoing and lively; an extreme extrovert that seeks adventure—and Kendall can’t stand it. She thinks Y/n does it for attention, especially because she’s remained a small town girl while being surrounded by well-known celebrities. And even though it may seem like Y/n likes the attention, that’s not her purpose. She gives all her attention to others, never to herself, and it has always been something Harry loved the most.
And when it comes to Y/n, Kendall was that one thing that was constantly in her way of Harry. No matter how many times Harry and Y/n discussed how there was something between them, Kendall always found her way back to haunt her. She was her worst goddamn nightmare. She was perfect for Harry in the public eye, and nothing made Y/n feel worse than knowing she’ll never be her type of perfect, especially when it came to Harry.
But Kendall doesn’t know that. All she knows is that Y/n is extremely stand-offish with her, and she’ll never understand why.
“She’s not used to our lives. It’s extremely difficult for her to understand how we live, you know? She’s normal.”
Kendall scoffs, eyes rolling around the room because she hates that word. She feels so divided, like she’s in a categorization in society and everything about it makes her teeth clench.
“We’re normal, too, you know. I don’t understand why she feels so intimated and feels like she has something to prove.”
Harry’s jaw clenches slightly at the negative connotes Kendall has about Y/n’s life. Something about it makes his stomach twist the wrong way, and he can’t help the underlying growl in between his words.
“We’re not normal. Deep down, you and I both know that. You also don’t know Y/n, so stop making irrational assumptions about her.”
Kendall narrows her eyes at Harry, a gaze full of confusion and disbelief at the undeniable grumble in his tone. Any rational conversation they have about Y/n always end the same—with Harry quick to end the discussion and jump to her defense. It’s times like these Kendall never understood the true extent of Harry and Y/n’s relationship. They always claimed it was platonic but there has always been a sense of something stronger in them, like unaddressed or unchased feelings, or a past they shared that was kept between the two.
Either way, it annoyed the shit out of Kendall because they both were hiding something that she’ll never be able to get answered.
“Fine, whatever.” She sighs dramatically, scooting her chair back until she has room to stand properly. “Want some more wine? Getting some.”
Harry slides his empty wine glass so that it’s in front of her, muttering a small “yeah, thanks” before she’s on her way to the counter across the room, retrieving extra wine and mingling with some of Harry’s family.
Harry sighs while his head rests at the palm of his hand, eyes gazing directly to where Y/n is standing. His lips tug up lightly when he hears her laugh from the living room, his tongue running over his bottom lip ever so slightly as he watches her mouth lift and her eyes squint shut as she catches up with one of his uncles about his grand annual weekend fishing trip.
And as his eyes stay so transfixed on the woman in the other room, he can’t help but imagine seeing that type of perfection every day for the rest of his life.
“And everyone thinks Sweet Creature is about me..”
Harry’s head snaps to Gemma’s figure leaning over the edge of the island, her elbows hitched on the counter as a small smirk plays on her lips. She found it abnormally amusing how he didn’t even acknowledge her presence until she spoke, too invested in hawking over Y/n’s every move.
Harry grumbles, but the smile from Y/n’s laughter is permanent on his lips when he does so. Gemma even notices his cheeks brighten with pink, another hint of confirmation to the words she spoke.
“Shut up, Gem.“
She puts her arms up defensively, “Hey, don’t take it out on me. I’m just making an observation.”
Harry rolls his eyes as Gemma wraps her arm around his neck, hunching over so that her lips are close to his ear and eyes are directed toward Y/n again.
“She has gotten hotter, hasn’t she?”
She has no idea. All Harry can think about is how someone already so beautiful has grown to be so perfect. Everything about her makes Harry want to get down on his knees and worship every inch of her body. He has to bite down on his bottom lip to stop himself from thinking how much of a wreck he wants to make out of her.
“I don’t know how she did it. You better get her while you still have the chance, I know many, many men who want a taste of her.”
No is the first thing Harry thinks when the words leave from Gemma’s mouth. As hypocritical and selfish as it is, knowing other men have shown an interest in her makes his skin crawl. And he can’t help but feel his throat tighten at the moment Y/n realizes he had brought Kendall to this party.
“Is she—“ he can’t even finish his sentence without his jaw tightening again, hindering the rest of his question from leaving his lips.
“Oh, quit your worrying, H. She’s single, I don’t think she’d ever date someone who isn’t you. Besides, I don’t think you can do much about it with Kendall here.”
Gemma lifts a finger to where Kendall is standing, still in the same spot as she talks to his aunt Leslie. His heart hurts knowing what Y/n will feel when she finds out. He knows that there is always a part of her that feels discouraged whenever there’s a new woman in his life. In between Harry and Y/n’s love for each other was a mix of false hopes and miscommunication, and it always fucked them up whenever anything else was put in their way.
Gemma pats his shoulder before making rounds to her family and friends again, leaving Harry slumped against the counter with not a drop of wine to numb his scrambling mind.
When Y/n finishes catching up with the rest of Harry’s family, she finds that her patience is wearing thin. It’s been a year since she’s seen the love of her life, and knowing that he’s somewhere near her is enough to get her heart racing.
When she sees him sitting alone at the kitchen island, wearing his infamous pink suit and staring down at his fingers, it’s as if her body starts to malfunction. Her legs stop moving and her lips part, eyes glistening with admiration as she sees him for the first time in so long.
He’s as beautiful as ever, his new haircut accentuating his facial structure. His lips seem so much more red, too, which are complimented greatly by that goddamn suit. Everything about him radiates, like he’s developed into a whole other person. She’ll never quite grasp the idea that she’s about to reunite with him; something about it makes her palms sweat.
Harry lifts his head up to look at her in all her glory. His heart warms at her presence more than the wine did, and he can’t help but to take a breath of relief when he finally hears her voice again.
“Y/n.” He breathes out, his fingers instinctively reaching up to the ends of her cut hair.
He chokes out a laugh of admiration when he sees her this close to him. She is so much different—so much more perfect than he ever remembers her being and it takes his breath away.
His fingers twist her hair, wrapping them around the digits before letting the strands fall back in place again. He never saw her without her hair down to her waist, and now that he has, he never wants to see her hair past her shoulders again.
“It’s so beautiful” he whispers, “you look so beautiful like this, Y/n. I absolutely love it.”
She blushes, her chin tucking slightly into her neck as if trying to hide how much of a reaction he got out of her. No matter how many years she’s known him, she was never used to the way he spoke to her.
“It was spontaneous. Really wanted a change, and it looks like I’m not the only one.”
Her hands reach to his hair, which is so much shorter compared to the last time she saw him. She remembered she couldn’t keep her hands out of it last year, constantly finding ways to tangle her fingers at the ends. Harry found it hysterical, actually, and thought it was the cutest thing she’s ever done.
“It’s just so soft” she’d say, “it’s like a whole other world in there!”
But now her only option is to tangle her fingers at the roots, and as she does so, her mind drifts to all the other occasions she could have her hands in his hair again.
“It’s so much shorter. Look at that! I can barely tug on it anymore!” She laughs in amusement, her fingers slipping as she pulls too hard.
He smirks up at her, a giggle falling from his lips as he watches her utterly amused reaction. They begin to catch up with the part of their lives they both have missed. Harry talked about his album while Y/n started discussing her new journalism job.
Talking to Y/n is one of the only normal parts of him left, it always gave him a sense of grounding whenever he felt his career was taking off to heights he wasn’t ready for. She is one of the only sense of normality he has left in his life, and it’s another reason as to why he admires her so dearly. She brought out parts of him nobody else could reach, and it’s another reason why he feels so upset he’s barely talked to her.
“Y/n?” he asks hesitantly, reaching his hand over so that his fingertips graze her hand.
Her breath breaks when he touches her, the softness in his voice proving that what is about to be discussed is far more important than their previous conversation. She notices the stress lines in between his forehead and the parting of his wine stained lips when he begins to speak.
“I’m so sorry I haven’t kept in touch with you. I know how it makes me look, especially after everything that happened between us. With the new album and everything, I’ve just been so busy with—“
Harry’s head jumps to where Y/n stares dumbfounded, Kendall holding two glasses of wine in one hand while the other is carrying a plate of chicken wings. She’s looking down at Y/n, too, her eyebrows lifted up in an intimidating manner. There’s a scowl present on her lips as she continues to tower over her.
Y/n feels tears building in her eyes as she takes in the situation at hand. She was so fucking dumb to think that Harry was going to come to Anne’s party alone, especially since his new album just released. This is Kendall’s prime time appearance, when Harry needs a familiar famous face beside him to advertise his solo career.
This isn’t anything new—this isn’t anything unfamiliar, but the pain feels like a fresh wound to her heart. Harry and Y/n are nearly 24, with having known each other and felt something for each other for years, she thought that if anything were going to happen, it was going to happen now. But everything between them has remained stagnant for so long that the last sliver of hope she had for their potential relationship has been completely taken away from her. By Kendall, again.
“W—Wow, I’m sorry. I didn’t—I didn’t know Harry had invited you.”
“Yeah,” Kendall nods, “he invited me last night.”
Y/n’s lips purse together, nodding her head as her eyes drift around the kitchen. Anything to avoid Kendall’s eyes—anything to feel as unimportant as she does now.
Harry’s eyes squeeze shut, a small hissing releasing from his tongue at how wrong it all sounds, considering absolutely nothing happened between Harry and Kendall the previous night besides being demanded that the two of them are to be seen together again.
“Right,” Y/n’s voice cracks, “well, I’m sorry to interrupt your time together. I’m going to go to Gemma’s room, got a phone call from my dad a while ago so I should go check up on him. I’ll see you guys around.”
She musters up a pathetic smile before practically running away from them. After everything they both told each other, after all the feelings they’ve had toward each other, how could Harry keep doing this to her? How could he keep being with Kendall when he says he loves Y/n?
She doesn’t even find the strength in her to hold in her tears before she approaches the steps, not daring to look back at them again. She never wants to see them in the same room again, it’ll be too much her heart can handle.
“You’ve really got to be fucking kidding me, Kendall.” Harry growls.
His hands fist around the wine glass, his knuckles turning white and he’s absolutely shocked it hasn’t shattered into pieces in his hands from all the anger pulsing through his veins.
“Jesus, Harry, neither one of you can take a joke. Does she not understand that all of this is for the press? She keeps acting like we’re a couple.”
“Could you really blame her after that? ‘He invited me last night,’ you’re really getting a kick out of making her uncomfortable, aren’t you?”
He grumbles as he takes a long sip of his wine, hoping that the alcohol loosens his muscles enough to restrain himself from doing anything he regrets. He loves his mum too much to start an argument during her birthday party, and as much as Kendall’s shifting Harry’s mood, he still appreciates her as a friend to ruin anything.
“That wasn’t even my fault, you both dug into that way too deep. Last night does not mean while we were fucking. It’s a time of day.”
“It’s the way you said it.”
“Are you being serious, Harry?”
He slams his glass down on the island, grumbling under his breath while he stands up from his chair. No matter how much anger is in him now, the only thoughts swirling in his brain are wondering if Y/n’s okay. She would have never left the party to go into a secluded room, not even if her dad called her.
“You leave her the fuck alone, Kendall. I mean it.”
He storms away from her, desperate to find Y/n because God only knows what’s really happening in that bedroom. Y/n’s emotions and feelings are always positive, always so bright, and he refuses to be the reason they turn upside down. She doesn’t deserve all he keeps doing to her, she doesn’t deserve him.
When Harry nearly swings himself onto the first step, he can already hear the soft murmur of Y/n’s and Anne’s voice, which makes him stop from approaching them any more than he has already.
“Y/n? Y/n, darling?” Anne asks with worry when she sees Y/n climbing up the top step with tears in her eyes, soft cries falling from her throat as her hand attempts to silence them.
She reaches an arm out for her, tugging at the front of Y/n’s dress slightly to get her attention. She’s grateful it was Anne who found her this way instead of any other guest at the party, considering nobody besides her and Harry have seen her with a frown on her face.
“Y/n, baby, what’s going on with you?”
The lights are off in the hallway, with no guests permitted in the area, which gives Y/n the proper time to fully allow her tears to fall down her cheeks.
“I’m so s—sorry, Anne.” Y/n cries.
Anne’s hands rub her shoulders, reassuring her that there’s absolutely nothing for her to apologize for. It also lets her know that she’s willing to listen to her, no matter where or when—she’ll always be there.
“I’m almost 24, Anne, and I’ve put so much of my life on hold for him.”
She knows instantly who Y/n’s talking about. It wasn’t difficult to notice the undying connection between Y/n and her son, especially as the years went on. They have grown so strongly together, there has never been a doubt in Anne’s mind that Y/n is going to be the girl Harry ends up marrying. Everyone in the family called it a destiny waiting to happen, but it has been so long since anything has happened between them, and Anne can’t help but feel heartbroken to know Y/n’s carrying the wrong idea about him and Kendall.
“And I’ve sacrificed so m—much to continue waiting for him, but I don’t think I can keep doing this anymore. We’re nowhere near where we should be, especially when he keeps spending time with Kendall and I just—I just don’t know if I can—“
“Oh, my darling.” Anne sighs, cradling Y/n’s head against her shoulder as she rubs down her back.
She shushes her through her tears, rocking her slightly in an attempt to calm her from her cries. It’s extremely rare for Y/n to feel upset, so when she does so, Anne knows she deserves all the comfort and love she can get.
“I know you so well, and I know my son. I always knew you were a match made in heaven, my dear. I knew from the start you were more than just an ordinary girl. You’re so special, to everyone in our family, but especially to him. He may not have his head screwed on right most of the time, but if I can promise you anything with all my heart, it’s that he loves you. Please, no matter what, never forget that.”
Y/n nods against her shoulder, thanking her through her violent cries before Anne insists she takes some time to herself. And as much as Y/n wanted to refrain from going into Harry’s bedroom, it’ll be the only place that brings her a sense of comfort.
Harry already knows he’s in for a lecture the second he sees his mum coming down the stairs with bewildered eyes. She grips his shoulders, her face tight with frustration.
“You go over to her and you be the man I taught you to be, Harry.”
Harry’s eyes widen at her words, swallowing thickly at the thought of disappointing another person in his life.
“She loves you and you love her. Stop doing favors for other people and start thinking about you before you ruin both of your lives forever. You hear me?”
Harry nods feverishly, determined and more motivated than ever to fix all that he’s caused. Love comes first, always, and he needs to remember that before he breaks Y/n’s heart completely.
She’s it. She’s all that matters to him.
He barely responds to Anne before he’s racing to his old bedroom, completely clueless as to what he’s going to say, but willing to do anything to get her back.
“Y/n?” Harry calls through the door of his old bedroom. “Y/n, can I come in?”
He knocks on the door lightly, just using the knuckles of his pointer and middle finger. He hears her feet pad over to the door, opening it to reveal her tear stained cheeks. Her hands are trembling against the knob, her breath broken with soft, gentle cries. Her eyes are widened with sadness, wet and red from tears she barely ever cries.
“Y/n.” He whimpers, tentatively reaching his shaking fingers up to her cheeks. He wipes away the tears from the bottoms of her eyes, sighing upsettingly as her eyes close at his touch. “Never seen you like this. Please talk to me.”
Her lips quiver as another sob rips through her, her hand reaching up to capture his between her fingers. Her saddened and wet eyes looking down at the intertwined hands now resting against her lap.
“I’m so tired, H.” She whimpers, “So tired.”
His lips press against her forehead, “I know, love. I know.”
She wraps her arms around him, her face burying in between his chest as he lets her tears soak in his undershirt.
“I couldn’t take it anymore. I thought I’d finally be alone with you after all this time. I missed being close to you, I wanted to be closer to you and I thought you felt the same about me and I didn’t understand, Harry, I didn’t get it and—“
“Hey, relax for me.” Harry mumbles, his lips grazing tenderly along her cheek.
She takes a deep breath, her fingers fisting the back of his suit tighter in her fists. She rests her chin on the top of his chest, tears still roaming down her face as she lets out an exasperated sigh. Her fingertips trace patterns on his back, her eyes fluttering closed as he pushes some of her hair off of her face, refraining them from sticking to her wet cheeks.
“I didn’t get it,” she whispers, “I was so confused, and when you didn’t answer my calls or texts I thought you didn’t find me important. And I was under no right to be upset about it, because you’re busy and you have priorities. But when I saw you today, I didn’t see you as the Harry I always have, I still can’t tell you what I saw but I wanted every part of you more than I ever have before. But when I saw Kendall I—“
Her cries and words die down when she feels Harry’s tender lips against hers. She’s taken aback at first, and before she has any time to really kiss him back, he’s already pulled away.
“Let me fix this.” He breathes out, “let show you that I only want you.”
His lips press against the side of her mouth, not allowing himself to kiss her the way he wants to until she lets him. They then begin to travel down her neck, along her jaw, around her mouth.
Y/n’s breath is stiff as he does so, embracing the feeling of his mouth against her skin. They’ve only ever kissed a handful of times, none of them being passionate or loving. They’ve shared pecks while saying goodbyes or after confessing their feelings, but none quite like this—none quite like the one anticipating to happen.
His breathing his hard when he continues to kiss along her skin, his fingers moving longly in her hair the more his mouth presses against her.
“Will you let me?” He whispers when his lips are ghosting over hers, “this okay?”
She nods feverishly, hitting the point of desperation when she feels his breath fan over the skin of her face. She’s been needing this for far too long now.
His thumb runs over her bottom lip one, two, three times before he finally leans in. Their lips mush together passionately, only breaking apart to move their position before locking again. Their tongues meet in the middle, making the both of them moan at the unfamiliar spark coursing through their veins.
Harry walks toward his bed until Y/n’s knees hit the edge of it, making her back meet the mattress. Their lips haven’t detached once, not daring to break away from the feeling they’ve both been deprived of.
They’re both making out on Harry’s childhood bed, grinding onto each other half naked like two hormonal teenagers. Their clothes thrown across the room, lips swollen from all the suction and nibbling, and hair completely knotted from either of their fingertips, the party below them long forgotten.
“Wait, wait wait wait!” Y/n gasps, lifting herself off of his chest.
Harry’s chest rises and falls rapidly, trying to catch his breath as he looks up at Y/n in confusion. He watches as a smirk lifts from her lips as she peers down at his flushed face, giggling slightly at his complete fucked out appearance.
She notices that his lips remained stained from the red wine—a little faded—but still making her body weak at the sight of it.
“’s the matter?” He croaks.
His voice is thick—an entirely different level of raspy, and Y/n wonders how she’s lived so long without hearing him speak in that way. Between all the kissing, all the touching, all the moaning, his voice has a particular roughness to it that Y/n could feed off of if she had to.
“We shouldn’t do this, right? I mean, we’re about to fuck during your mum’s birthday party. Your entire family and Kendall are downstairs, anybody could walk in at any second, or hear us, and your mum could find that so disrespectful and—“
Her rambling is interrupted by his lips, meeting hers passionately between her words.
There is no way in hell he’s leaving this room tonight. Everything that’s been stagnant between them is finally moving in the right direction, and he can’t find it anywhere in him to walk away from it.
“You think I’m letting you go now?” He whispers, his thumb running along her bottom lip. “I have been waiting for this moment with you since high school, sweetheart.”
His lips reattach to her neck, sucking on spots he hasn’t already left marks on, soaking up every bit of the time he has with her before it’s over. This is the first time they’re going to make love, and he wants to feel and remember every bit of this moment.
“B—But your mum—“ She moans, her fingers nearly tangling at the ends of his hair as she hisses in pleasure from his tongue.
“Every single person downstairs knows about us. This—this happening right now, has been expected to happen since I first brought you home. I guarantee you, nothing will make her more happy than knowing her son and his future wife are finally acting on our feelings instead of pushing them to the side again.”
His words make Y/n blush like no other; her cheeks turning the shade of pink on her dress she wore previously. It’s then he notices just hot fucking pretty she is in pink, how every tint of the color compliments her in ways he can barely wrap his head around.
“Future wife, hm?” She smirks, tapping the pads of her fingers against his bare collarbones.
He kisses her again.
“Thought you knew that, love. Wouldn’t know a single soul I’d rather spend the rest of my life with.” His fingers dig into her hips, “’s always been you.“
Y/n pushes Harry’s back against the mattress again, trailing her fingers down his torso. She giggles when his teeth clench at her touch, finding it almost irresistible to embrace the way he responds to her touch so easily.
Request: Can you do a Peter Parker x reader where you are around Peter’s age (1 year older) and a badass avenger with a public identity and best friends with Peter and when is being teased by a bunch of bullies about being a nerd with no girlfriend until he blurts out that you’re his girlfriend and they don’t believe him and tell him to prove it he runs up and kiss you begging you to go along with it
Peter was fucked. That was it. He knew the minute those few words came from his lips that he was eternally fucked.
The boys who sat at the table directly ahead of him had turned around and started pestering him, again. Honestly, at this point in the school year he was used to it, it didn’t bug him like it used to, if anything it was just a nuisance now, a nuisance he’d do anything to get rid of. So that’s why when they started pestering him about having a significant other he flipped and blurted out,
"I’m actually dating someone, you know (Y/N) (Y/L/N), that really cute senior?“ The boys look a him as though he was crazy and at this point Peter think he may be.
"There’s no way you’re dating them,”
"Nope, I totally am,“ Peter leans into his seat, smirking at the boys almost cooly.
"Yeah? Then prove it,” They boys smirk back, making Peters blood run cold.
(Y/N) was his best friend, his partner with shield, they were amazing and understanding but would they understand enough to help him out?
"Go up and kiss them,“ Peter gulps as his eyes travel to (Y/N)’s table where they were valiantly studying for an upcoming graduate test. He knew he shouldn’t disturb them at such a time but before he knew it his feet were carrying him to their table, forcing him to seat and turn to (Y/N) with a hopeful expression.
"Pete, I’m kinda busy right now,” (Y/N) supplies before Peter even has time to open his mouth.
"But (Y/N), it’s really important-“ (Y/N) turns to look at Peter with their best bitch face, a face that sent fear tingling down his spine.
"This better be good or I swear to god I’m going to beat your ass,” Peter sighs as he looks at his hands, twiddling his thumbs a bit as he does.
"Well- so those guys who um-“ Peter didnt want to say bullying, he didn’t want to seem weak around (Y/N). "Those guys I was just talking to,” Peter gestures to the guys behind him, all staring at him intently. “They’ve been mocking me for the last couple of months-”
“they’ve been bullying you?"
"No, that’s not what I said-”
“Do I need to beat them for you?"
"No! God, no, I just need you to kiss me,” (Y/N) stares at Peter with a dumbfounded expression, as though he had just grown a second head or three.
“Are you fucking serious?"
"I know, I know, you can beat my ass later but please, I just need this,” Peter gives (Y/N) his best puppy dog eyes, he even threw in a pout just for good measure.
(Y/N) was seriously contemplating saying no but then they heard the boys snickering and mocking Peter. Gritting their teeth (Y/N) leans forward, cupping Peters cheeks as they connected their lips to his.
His lips were surprisingly soft and sweet and (Y/N) knew It was horrible to think but they wanted more. Plus, Peter wasn’t too bad of a kisser- in fact he was good, maybe a little too good.
(Y/N) pulls away (even if they were reluctant), licking their lips as they look to Peter with half lidded eyes, almost as though they were drunk. Peter looks almost disbelieving himself as he stares at (Y/N), more specifically their lips.
"Was I your first kiss?” (Y/N) asks, cutting the younger boy short. Peter looks a bit sheepish at first, his cheeks dusting a light pink as he looks down at his hands.
“Is it that obvious?” (Y/N) smirks as they hum, casually turning back to their papers to get back to work.
"No,“ Peter looks surprised at this, eyes wide and lips parted. "You’re surprisingly good,” And that was all the information (Y/N) gave Peter before they set back to work, smirking as Peter made his way back to his own table with a new sense of shock and pride.
His long legs extended across her lap as he took a large gulp of the amber liquid. Sighing contently, he placed the glass bottle on the floor and snuggled deeper into his couch.
Her hands were lazily drapped over his feet as she focused on the television. The movie that they had been watching was fairly interesting although she was having a bit of a hard time following the plot.
“Wait, is he the sister’s boyfriend?” Y/N asked her best friend who shook his head in return.
“No, that’s the guy they met at the bar who looks like the boyfriend.” Dylan explained.
Furrowing her eyebrows, Y/N continued to watch the film hoping somewhere along the way things would make sense.
This was their routine. Every Friday night for the past 3 years was spent on his lumpy couch drinking beer, eating pizza, and watching movies.
As the ending credits started, Y/N let out a soft yawn as she extended her arms.
“What did you think?” Dylan asked, eager to know what she thought of the film.
“I thought she was going to pick the boyfriend’s brother’s friend.” Y/N admitted with a giggle, thinking about the cliched love triangle movie she just watched. “The ending was very unexpected.”
Pulling his feet off of her lap, he sat on the edge of the couch.
“What about you?” She called out as he walked to the kitchen with his empty beer bottle.
“I was routing for the boyfriend’s brother’s friend too.” His laugh echoed throughout the kitchen.
Their friendship consisted of watching cheesy romance movies together, texts at 3am when they couldn’t sleep, and the comfort of knowing that they always had someone they could count on. It was completely platonic.
Anonymous said:Can I have a reaction where Bts are your best friends and walk in on you/ see you naked and they hint about taken things further? I love your blog by the way and I’m happy your back
A/N: Awwwh, thank you! I hope this is okay.
Namjoon didn’t think to knock before entering your room but he soon regretted it. He froze on the spot, staring at you as you let your towel fall from your body to change. When you looked up and noticed Namjoon, you were quick to grab your towel again, wrapping it around you as best you could.
“Namjoon, don’t you ever knock?” you practically yelled.
Namjoon’s shocked expression soon turned into a smirk as he shut the door behind him and made his way over to you. “You know Y/N, I’m starting to think you left that open on purpose”
“And if I did?” you replied, your cheeks flushing red.
His hands took hold of the towel, slowly pulling it off your body “Then I think I need to teach you a lesson”
If requests are open, could you make a jughead x fem Reader where he never asked what her real name was (everyone just calls her by a nick name and has been doing so for years.) and when he finally figures it out and calls her by that name, the reader falls in love with the way it sounds when he says it. Sorry if it’s confusing, I just thought it’d be cute :)
Y/N/N = Your Nick Name
Y/N = Your (real/full) Name
L/N = Your Last Name
I loved this idea so much! I hope you like the way I wrote it!
The first time it was brought up was at the diner. You sat next to Jughead, and the two of you were sitting across from Betty and Veronica. You all were sharing stories from your childhoods, including Jughead, when it finally got to you.
“Y/N/N, did you ever have a nickname?” You smiled at Veronica, who had admitted a few of her own embarrassing nicknames.
“Y/N/N,” you replied, sipping at your milkshake.
“What,” Jughead asked and you laughed while turning to face him.
“Y/N/N is my nickname,” you said, but he still looked confused, “I’ve gone by Y/N/N my whole life. Even my parents use it rather than my actual name.”
“No, I get that,” he said, meeting your eyes, “but what’s your real name?” Veronica raised an eyebrow and Betty let out a laugh. “You’ve been best friends with Y/N/N for how long, and yet you still don’t know her full name?” Jughead squinted his eyes at Veronica and you let out a small giggle. “Now I have to know,” he said, turning to face you, but you just stared at him. “You’re a smart, independent, young man,” you said, causing Jughead to smile at you, “you can figure it out.” Betty rolled her eyes, “stop flirting you two, we’re trying to be nostalgic.” You felt a blush creep up onto your cheeks and with a glance at Jughead, you saw he was blushing too.
The second time it was brought up was at your locker door. School had ended and you were grabbing your jacket and text book out of your locker. Out of the corner of your eye you could see Jughead walking towards you, looking annoyed.
“What’s up Juggie,” you asked as he leaned against the lockers next to yours.
“So I went to the library during my free period,” he said and you started to close your locker door.
“Sounds adventurous,” you said, looking up and smiling at him.
“Ha! Very funny,” he said, “I went there looking to check out some yearbooks. When I asked for them she said, and I quote, ‘they’ve all been checked out.’”
You gave him a smug smile, “Hmm, how strange.” He nodded, “isn’t it?”
Request: Hey, I just love your imagines and could I request about a Sirius imagine where the two of them have been the closest of friends for years and Sirius loves her so one day he’s like “Fuck it” and runs over to her and kisses her and when they finally pull apart she goes “what took you so long?” THANK YOU SO MUCH (sorry this was so specific) 😍😍😍😍😂
“Budge over,” Y/N gave Sirius a gentle nudge as she tried to sit down next to him in the common room. “But I’m so comfortable,” Sirius smirked, stretching out even further across the couch. “Sirius,” Y/N whined. She tried to shove him to one side of the couch, but he wouldn’t budge. “Fine,” she sighed dramatically before throwing herself into his lap and obnoxiously sprawling out on top of him. “Fine,” He laughed, not bothering to try to move her. “Are you going to move now?” She asked him triumphantly. “Mm, nope. Don’t think so,” he shrugged. “Okay, I tried,” Y/N sighed, moving to stand up, but Sirius wrapped his arms and legs around her so she couldn’t move. “No! Spend time with me!” He shouted, burying his face into her neck. “Then move!” She laughed, trying to squirm out of his grip. “But you’re so warm,” he whined, holding onto her tighter. “You are a pain, Sirius,” She shook her head with a laugh, but nonetheless stopped trying to escape his strong grip. “If you’re going to hold me captive here, can I at least get comfortable?” Y/N asked after a few minutes of silence. “I am not holding you captive, you love this,” Sirius corrected her. “But, yes. C'mhere,” He let go of her for only a second as she got comfortable on the couch, and began to reach for a book out of her bag on the floor.
“Y/N Y/M/N Y/L/N don’t you dare reach for that horrid book,” Sirius warned. “You don’t even know what book it is!” Y/N protested. “I know that it is going to take your attention away from me, therefore it is horrid,” Sirius stated, matter-of-factly. “You’re so needy,” Y/N laughed, ruffling his hair. “Oi! Be careful with m'hair!” He whined, but made no effort to stop her from continuing to run her fingers through his locks. “Sirius, your hair is a mess. I couldn’t possibly do anything to mess it up,” she told him. “I like it messy,” Sirius pouted. “I’m making a statement,” he declared, causing the girl to laugh. “Yeah, okay. Whatever you say, buddy,” she laughed, patting his head before continuing to play with his hair. “Feels nice,” he admitted with a content sigh after a few minutes of more silence. Y/N nudged her nose against his head and hummed in acknowledgement. “Sleepy?” He asked her. “Little bit,” she admitted with a small nod. Sirius began to draw patterns on her arm with his fingers.
“For the record, I could have been reading this whole time,” she said sleepily after a few more minutes of silence. “No, you’re spending time with me,” Sirius pouted. “We aren’t even talking,” Y/N laughed. “We’re bonding!” Sirius cried dramatically. Y/N laughed and shook her head, but she snuggled into him, losing the energy to do anything but take a nap.
“Sirius!” A high pitched squeal woke Y/N from her peaceful nap.
request? yes “ Hiiiiii! I have a request if you’re taking them still, a 13rw (I’m a huge fan of your blog btw) where the reader is dating Zach and he figures out that Bryce did something to her (you can decided) and he loses his shit and attacks him. ”

It’s been days since Y/N was last seen in Liberty High.
A/N: This has to be one of my favourite things that I’ve ever written :) Please pay attention to the dates and times! It begins in the present, and then there are a series of flashbacks. They’re all in chronological order for ease of reading, but please pay attention to the timings if you’re unsure!
With a cream envelope held between your fingers, you can’t prevent the smile from spreading across your lips. A greying memory slips into your mind, your eyes fluttering to a close as you let yourself get taken away to the land of fantasies.
Valentine’s day, two years ago, 1pm
At the sound of your name, you looked up. You were in a park, sitting on a picnic blanket. Surrounding you were hundreds of tiny daisies, scattered amongst the green grass like a sprinkling of icing sugar.
“Hmm?” You looked across the blanket to see Calum, your boyfriend, with a wide smile spread across his face.

“It’ll be like old times,” Betty said,
hopeful eyes staring at Archie.
“The three musketeers,” he laughed. Betty bit her lip, her smile slightly fading.
“Actually, Archie,” she corrected,
“there were four of us.”
“(Y/N)!” a newly-turned six year old Archie exclaimed. "I didn’t think you were gonna come!“
"Of course I came!” (Y/N) giggled, stepping into the Andrews
house. "You’re my best friend.“
Archie pulled (Y/N) into a hug.
"You’re my best friend too, (Y/N),” he grinned.
“Yeah, four of us,” Archie muttered,
turning away from Betty. She frowned, realizing she reopened that wound too
“I’m sorry Archie, I didn’t mean-”
“It’s fine, Betty,” Archie grimaced.
“No, I shouldn’t have brought it up,”
“But there were four of us,” Archie
admitted. "I guess I was just
trying to forget the fourth.“
"Why do we only come here when they play this movie?” ten year
old (Y/N) questioned, gesturing towards the movie playing on the Twilight
Drive-In screen. Archie shrugged,
wrapping his arm around (Y/N)’s shoulders.
“Because it’s my favorite,” he replied. (Y/N) rolled her eyes.
“Don’t you want to watch something else for a change?” she asked,
looking up at him with a smile. "You
know, discover something new?“
"No,” Archie refused her suggestion, immaturely shaking his
head. "I like things just the way
Archie couldn’t get (Y/N) out of his head for the
rest of the day. Throughout school, and
after school during the preparations for Jughead’s party, Archie’s mind kept
going back to (Y/N). For two years, he
had blocked out all memories of her. Now,
she was pictured clear in his mind. Her
memory was haunting him, and Archie could do nothing but push through the day
as if nothing was wrong.
"Archie,” (Y/N) whimpered, standing on his front porch. He ran out towards her and enveloped her in a
hug as soon as he reached her.
“What?” he asked, burying his face into her hair. "What’s wrong?“ (Y/N) gripped onto his t-shirt, her hands
desperately holding onto her best friend.
"I’m moving,” she sobbed. "I’m moving next month.“ Archie’s arms dropped, and he took a step back.
"Moving?” he echoed. "But
what about 8th grade?“ (Y/N)
helplessly shrugged, tears continuing to roll down her cheeks. "It’s our last year before high school.
We were gonna…” The rest of
Archie’s sentence was stuck in his throat.
“I know,” she cried. "I
know, Archie. You think I wanted this?“ He frantically shook his head.
"No, no, of course not.”
“We’re leaving in July,” she explained. "I tried to convince my parents not to
move, or at least to leave me behind.“
"You could stay with us,” Archie offered. A bittersweet smile creeped onto (Y/N)’s lips.
“I know,” she said. “I told them that.”
“Jesus, (Y/N),” Archie mumbled as he stumbled into
his bedroom, ignoring the party going on downstairs. "(Y/N).“ He repeated her name over and over again,
reminiscing on the way her name felt on his tongue. All the memories that he had hidden away from
himself came tumbling back, and he was suddenly overwhelmed with emotions that
he had forgotten how they felt. He
frustratedly tugged at his hair, struggling to cope with his feelings. Her sparkling eyes and joyous laugh were still
engraved in the back of his mind. How
could he ever forget? "God, (Y/N),
I’m so sorry.” He continued to
drunkenly pace around his room, head spinning with memories of (Y/N). Every moment they shared, every hug they had,
every chance he missed to tell her he loved her. He missed every single opportunity he had to
tell her. "I should’ve told
her,“ he moaned. An idea lit up in
Archie’s mind, so he began to search his room. He tossed clothes and blankets aside until he
found his phone laying on his nightstand. He picked it up and immediately dialed (Y/N)’s
number by memory.
"I’m sorry, this number no longer
exists,” the monotonous robot answered his call. Archie screamed out in frustration, throwing
his phone across his room against the wall.
“I want to talk to her!” he screamed,
punching his bed. "I need her!“
"Archie?” Veronica called out as she cautiously
his room. He paused his rampage as he
turned to face the raven-haired girl.
“What?” he snapped.
“You’re making a lot of noise,” Veronica
ignored the bite in his voice. "I
wanted to make sure you’re okay.“
"I’m not…” he clutched his head,
sitting down on his bed, “I’m not okay. She’s gone.”
“Who?” Veronica questioned, sitting
next to Archie.
“(Y/N),” he moaned. "(Y/N)’s gone.“
"Who’s that?” Veronica asked. Archie glared at her and stood up, stepping
away from her.
“I loved her,” he whispered, flopping
back onto his bed. Veronica frowned. "God, I should’ve left Riverdale when my
"But then we would’ve never met,”
Veronica quipped. "And that,
Archiekins, would be a tragedy of epic proportions.“ She glanced at his lips, then back up to his
eyes. Leaning in, she connected her lips
with his. It only lasted a moment before
Archie pulled away.
"No, Veronica,” he stopped her. "I’m sorry, but… you’re not her.“
"I’m sorry,” she apologized. "That was stupid and selfish of me, I
"It’s fine,” Archie interrupted her. "It’s not your fault, I just… the wound
is still kinda fresh, you know?“ Veronica
"She sounds lovely,” she offered. "Can you tell me about her?“ Archie inhaled deeply.
"We were best friends,” he started, and
a smile already grew on his face. "Our
parents were good friends, so we knew each other since birth. We were two peas in a pod. Then we met Jughead and Betty, and we became
the four musketeers. We’d do everything
together. But (Y/N) and I were still the
"When did you fall in love with her?”
“I think I always was,” Archie answered
truthfully. Veronica sighed; she knew there
was no competing with even the memory of (Y/N). "But I don’t think I realized it until I
"Did you know some people have already had their first kiss?”
(Y/N) asked Archie as she sat on a swing.
“Like who?” he questioned. They were eleven.
“I heard Cheryl kissed someone,” (Y/N) shrugged. "I don’t know who though.“
"She could be lying,” Archie said.
“Josie, too,” (Y/N) interjected.
“Maybe they kissed each other,” Archie laughed, and (Y/N)
giggled with him. Once their laughs died
down, they swung in silence.
“Who do you want to be your first kiss?” (Y/N) broke the
“I don’t know,” Archie shrugged. "What about you?“
"There’s not really anyone I want to kiss,” she answered. "The only good guys in Riverdale are you
"Would you kiss Jughead?”
“Ew, no!” she squealed. "Jughead is like my brother!“
"Am I a brother to you?” Archie asked. (Y/N) grew quiet and shrugged.
“You’re my best friend, Arch,” she responded.
“So does that mean you would kiss me?” he smirked. (Y/N) blushed.
“Would you kiss me?” she countered, causing Archie to blush. They both grew quiet, each embarrassed by the
thought of kissing each other.
“I’d want you to be my first kiss,” he said. (Y/N)’s head snapped up to look at Archie.
“Really?” she asked. He
nodded. "I want you to be my first
"What if…” Archie nervously stuttered, “What if we did
it now? Like, kiss each other. Just so that we’re definitely each other’s
first kiss.” (Y/N) pretended to
contemplate it for a moment, but she already knew her answer.
“Sure,” she agreed nonchalantly. Her heart was about to beat out of her chest. Archie jumped off of the swing and stepped
towards (Y/N). Both of their eyes
fluttered closed, and they pressed their lips against each other’s. They pulled apart a second after, a blush
spreading across both of their cheeks. Archie hopped back onto the swing next to (Y/N). Neither of them spoke about the kiss.
“Do you think she knew?” Veronica
asked. Archie raised a puzzled eyebrow. "Do you think she knew that you loved her?“
she elaborated. Archie shrugged.
"Maybe,” he responded. "I hope so. I never told her, though. God, I should’ve told her.“
"Hey,” Veronica reached a comforting
hand out towards Archie. "Don’t
beat yourself up over it. From what you
told me, it sounds like she knew.“
"You think so?”
“I do,” Veronica nodded. "And from what I can tell, I think she
loved you too.“
