Overdue

Prompt: “You’re overdue on this book and I want it so I’m tracking you the f**k down” from @nerds-are-cool.
Word Count: 1,300
Warning(s): Minor swearing.

⇢  A Sirius Black x Reader work set in the Marauders’ Era.

“Is the book available yet?”

Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean?”

You sighed, a slight frown on your face. “Yes. My Herbology essay is due in less than a week now.”

The aged Hogwarts librarian narrowed her eyes at you. She showed absolutely no sign of caring. “The only copy I have hasn’t been returned, I’m afraid.”

“May I know who still has it?” you questioned, frustrated.

For the past two weeks, you have been probing the library, scrounging for the book–or even something similar to it–to no avail. Now, whoever had it was at least two weeks overdue and the book was still not in your clutches.

In response, Madam Pince pulled out a thick file. “Magical Water Plants, Magical Water Plants,” she murmured as she flicked through the pages. “Here. Magical Water Plants of the Mediterranean by Hadrian Whittle. Checked out by a Sirius Black about four weeks ago.”

Your cursed under your breath. The answer was so obvious, you shouldn’t have been surprised. “Sirius Black,” you muttered, internally groaning. “Why him?”

Madam Pince, however, was paying you no mind. She mumbled endless incantations, vowing to maim Black to the very extent it would be allowed. You attempted to suppress a shiver at her uncensored words; Irma Pince took her books very seriously.

You shook your head, plastering a smile on your face. Within seconds, you smoothed down your robes and gathered the few textbooks you checked out. “Thank you so much, Madam Pince. I appreciate all your help!”

Without waiting for the librarian’s reply, you scurried out of the library, heading toward the Gryffindor Tower. As you approach the Fat Lady’s portrait, you saw a pair of boys pass by, the portrait swinging open.

“Remus! Peter!” you called, following them into the Gryffindor common room. They looked at you, then glanced back at each other with curious expressions. “You guys are friends with Sirius, correct?”

“Sadly, yes.” You shot Remus a glare as a playful grin spread across his face.

“Anyway,” you said pointedly, “do you mind telling me which dormitory is his? I need to talk to him.”

“We were just about to head up.” Peter nodded toward the stairs. “You can tag along.”

Remus gestured at the pile of textbooks in your hands. “Planning a study date, are you?”

You scoffed at the audacity of his idea. “Oh, please. You and I both know that studying with a jelly slug would be more beneficial.”

Remus laughed in response and you followed them both into the boys’ dormitories. Out of all the guys in Black’s little group, you found Remus Lupin to be the most bearable.

As you approached Sirius’ dormitory, you crinkled your nose, waiting for an unpleasant odor to hit you by surprise. To your luck, however, all seemed normal. But right as you placed a hand on the doorknob, it swung inward, leaving you to grasp nothing but air.

A permanently disheveled-looking James Potter came out of the room. His eyes glazed over you once he saw Remus and Peter.

“Wormtail,” James greeted, a jaunty grin on his face, “Moony. There you guys are!” His eyes fell on you. He looked you up and down, taking in the impatient tapping of your foot and the cautious tilt of your head. “And there’s a girl…”

“Y/N,” Remus coughed.

“Y/N!” James repeated, as if he knew your name all along, then paused. His eyebrows furrowed slightly before his eyes widened. “As in Y/N Y/L/N?”

You nodded. James smiled, a mischievous glint in his eye. Nothing good could possibly come out of that smile. “That’s me.”

James hummed. “Sirius’ Y/N, huh?”

“Excuse me? I’m no one’s anything.”

Behind you, you saw Remus shake his head as Peter grinned along.

“Of course you’re not,” Peter agreed, before focusing on James. “But did you know she’s here to see Padfoot?”

“Y/N is here to see Padfoot?” James all but hooted. He poked his head back in the dormitory. “Pads–you hear that? Your lady friend wants to see you.”

“Get stuffed, Potter,” you grumbled, attempting to hit him on the head with a copy of Encyclopedia of Toadstools. “And Sirius and I are hardly friends.”

The three boys looked at each other before exchanging nods and turning back to you. You knew nothing good could come out of those smiles on their faces.

“Well, Sirius is in the room if you need him,” said James. “We’ve got to go, but if you’re looking to form a harem, just yell and I’ll–”

Remus elbowed him in the side, shutting him up. “Don’t listen to him, Y/N, he’s an idiot.” James rubbed his side, sending Remus a crooked grin. “We’ll just be going now.”

You nodded, your lips pursed in confusion. You didn’t press for any questions, however, figuring you would only be left more perplexed. Spinning around, you entered the Marauders’ dormitory, looking for Sirius.

Soon enough, you found him on his bed, twirling his wand around his fingers as a Confronting the Faceless textbook was propped in front of him. You’ve never seen him look this relaxed.

You cleared your throat and dropped the stack of books at the foot of his bed. As his eyes met yours, he stopped playing with his wand and you folded your arms.

“Sirius Black,” you started, ready to scold him for not returning Magical Water Plants. “Are you aware of how long I’ve been waiting to get my hands on the only copy we have of Hadrian Whittle’s work?”

Sirius kicked his feet back and crossed his arms, mimicking your expression. “No. But I have the feeling you’re about to tell me.”

“I’ve been waiting for over two weeks.” You glared at him for mocking you. “And do you know how many weeks the book you checked out is overdue?”

“I don’t know, actually–”

“Two weeks!”

He didn’t bothering trying to keep the amused expression off his face. His grin, of course, only made you angrier.

“Don’t you dare laugh,” you threatened. “I’m already failing Herbology–only Merlin knows how I managed to moved onto the N.E.W.T. levels–and now the final essay is due in two days and I haven’t even started.”

Sirius quirked an eyebrow at you, sighing as he finally stood his arse off the bed. “Let me get this straight. You tracked me down just to yell at me?”

“I tracked you down to get the bloody book!” You pinched the bridge of your nose. “And I would very much appreciate you handing it over right about now.”

Shrugging, he walked over to the side of his bed, digging around to find the book. When he handed it over to you, you noticed a water stain and a torn cover. When Sirius saw your disdainful look, he sent you an innocent grin. “It was like that when I got it.”

Rolling your eyes, you gathered up all your textbooks and headed out of his dormitory. “Right. Well, thank you for finally returning it,” you called behind your back, trying not to sound sarcastic.

Before you made it to the door, however, you felt a hand grasp your forearm. “If you’re going to use that book to write Sprout’s essay, don’t bother. It’s absolutely useless.”

“What do you suppose I do then?” You whirled around to look at him.

Sirius took the books from your arms, carrying them for you despite your sounds of protest. “As common knowledge shows, you are shitty at Herbology whilst I am not.”

“Hey–”

“By yourself–and with this banal collection of textbooks–you would barely pass the essay.” He cocked his head to the side when you opened your mouth. However, you knew you couldn’t argue with that. “But with my help, I guarantee you’ll get an A.”

You scoffed. You wished that Sirius weren’t right, but his top grades, and your below average ones, proved otherwise. “You want to help me write an essay on some plants?”

“I’m all for helping a damsel in distress.” He paused, walking you out of the Gryffindor common room. “Just one small thing.”

“I should’ve known there was a catch.”

Sirius ignored your comment. “In exchange, you have to go on a date with me this Saturday.”

Once you reached the bottom of the tower, you took your textbooks from his hands. Did Sirius genuinely want to go on a date with you? You tried not to take it too close to heart, but it wasn’t everyday one of the most pined after guys of your year asked you out.

Still, you were skeptical.

“If we get an A on my Herbology essay, then maybe you’ll get that date.”

“We better start researching, then.” He ran his fingers through his hair, his hand momentarily covering his face. When Sirius turned to look back at you, you could have sworn you saw traces of red on his cheeks.

And that alone was enough incentive for you to want to get a good mark.

What even was this? I don’t know. Sucky, I’d say.

As of now, I’m sick of all this loveydovey crap. So my next imagine will either have infidelity…or death. Whichever I’m in the mood for.

My Drama Year!

It had been some time since I had wifi, so I ventured to the library to download K-Dramas for entertainment purposes. This is My Year in K-Dramas. The last two are recent and I have watched them with wifi because I am in a better place. Yay!!

     1. Oh My Venus

This drama started out being really sad to me, then it became rather weird, but then I thought it was cute. It is one of those dramas that I would definitely say I enjoyed. Without wifi and cable, it was also hard to watch a second or third time. By the third time, I just went through my favorite episodes/moments. Would still recommend! 4.5 STARS!

(HENRY IS THE CHERRY ON TOP)

           2. Cheese in the Trap

Now this one I was actually kind of bored with until about the fifth episode. Sorry, but true. I had a hard time understanding why it was popular. Of course, though, I did enjoy watching it after getting into it. After some time, it had me hooked and trying to figure things out as it went and the male lead had me all confused and stuff! Kekeke Would I recommend? Yes. 4 STARS!

(SEO KANG JUN IS THE SUGAR IN MY LIFE)

This one I stumbled upon by chance. I looked it up on Google and decided the synopsis made the show seem very intriguing. So I downloaded it and enjoyed every second of this mystery thriller!! From beginning to end I was hooked, like a fish on a line!! I could not get enough of the show and even checked to see if there was another season. I still need another one. TOTALLY DAEBAK!!! 5 STARS

(SHIN SUNG ROK PLAYS EVIL SO WELL)

            4. Descendants of the Sun

THIS ONE!! Yes, this one. This drama I kept in my files for a long time, even after I moved TWICE(!!!!). I love this drama from beginning to end and may have watched it about ten times… Without skipping episodes. I love it so much, I had the poster as my phone’s background and had ringtones. I am not ashamed!! Song-Song couple is love, dude!! This one breaks the record. WAY PAST 5 STARS!!!

    (THAT SONG JOONG KI THOUGH)

             5. W: Two Worlds

Now tell me why Lee Jong Suk said he wants to play a more masculine type of character when he did such a cool, manly job playing as his character Kang Chul?! He is the definition of perfection and I love him so much. I started feeling rather odd when I wanted him to catch me in a bathroom. Like, I volunteer to be scared like that!! All semi-joking aside, the drama is freaking awesome and the story line was well thought out. I would like to meet the writer and get some tips. 5 STARS!!!

So many favorite scenes, so much bromance. Is it bad of me to say I loved this drama from beginning to end, too? I hope not. Although, for some reason, I wasn’t too into the beginning scene of the first episode. I shrug when I think about it because I have no idea why I’m not pleased with it. Gong Yoo did amazing acting out the battle and the movements were great and everything, but eh. ANYWAY! This drama had me swooning over anything and everything and even made me feel lonely af. I super love love it, though and totally watched it again and again!! Another one that broke the scale!!

    (YOOK SUNG JAE WAS AWESOME)

            7. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

I just recently finished this one, so fresh out of the mind reaction. Here goes. NAM JOO HYUK, STOP STEALING MY HEART!!!!!! The story was great and the acting was even greater!! I love that it’s not the typical thin boy loves thin girl. Noooope, nope, nope. I am so in love with the story, I may go watch it again. With each episode, I had to make sure I was breathing because Nam Joo Hyuk kept me from breathing correctly. The love scenes were so cute and well thought out and that’s what really had me feeling like a high school teenager again. Oh, those feelings of blissful love. Sigh. I would definitely recommend this drama that peoples ears would fall off. I’m so in love with it. ANOTHER SCALE BREAKER!!!!!

(NAM JOO HYUK PLEASE TAKE MY HEART)

    Truth or Dare, Princess

Summary: When the boys are stumped on a case he sends them to the reader. That one case leads to a more permanent relationship with the boys, and ultimately her falling in love with Dean…and Cas. There’s always been something about the reader they’ve loved and a game of truth or dare let’s them explore it.

    Word Count: 4816

Author’s note: SMUT SMUT SMUT!!!! I absolutely LOVE this one guys!! Just as a warning the plot doesn’t 100% follow along with the shows plot. Tell me what you guys think about this one!

You’d been hunting with Sam and Dean for the past year, your paths crossed on Arachne case. Bobby had referred the boys to you, you weren’t a hunter but you focused on lore. After telling Bobby how confused they were he sent them your way, but you never knew how important that one small decision would be.

Bobby had set it up so the boys would meet you at the library you worked at, it was a cover for you. The first and second floors were all normal books, but the basement was specifically for lore and hunters. You had hunters file in and out, and you helped them the best you could.

When Bobby had first suggested you to the boys Dean smirked, “She seems like just your type Sammy, nerdy”. Bobby just smiled to himself about Dean’s comment, he knew the second Dean saw you he’d be sold. Sure you were smart and loved books, but you were also incredibly beautiful.

Sam rolled his eyes, “Dean you of all people should know not to judge someone off of what’s said about them”. Bobby continued telling the boys where they could find you, and how he’d set up the meeting. The boys were in need of help so they didn’t mind. Bobby placed a call to you and then the boys were on their way.

It was closing time, which meant it was just you. You were excited but nervous, Sam and Dean Winchester were legends. Before you knew it you hear the sound of a bell, and eventually two men walked in. Taking in their descriptions you knew it was Sam and Dean.

They made their way over to the counter, and the closer they got the more you realized how incredibly good looking they were. Dean leaned against the counter, “Hey princess, you must be (y/n)”. You felt your cheeks begin to redden, “Yes I am, and you must be Dean”. Hearing him call you princess set butterflies a flight in your stomach.

He grinned, but before he could reply his brother cut him off, “ Thank you so much for even helping us, so is this whole library yours?”. Dean rolled his eyes, his brother was cockblocking him. You smiled realizing how beautiful Sam was too, “Yes…kinda…my aunt left it to me when she passed”.

You had always been close with your Aunt, and she was a hunter. She’d be good friends with Bobby and she was the reason you were even in this lifestyle. Sam forced a smile feeling bad for bringing up something so emotional, “I’m sorry, losing someone is one of the worst things to go through”.

Placing a stray piece of hair behind your ear you replied, “It is, but it’s good to have this place. It reminds me of her and hunters always come in telling me stories. I mean we all know death is never really the end..but enough about me how can I help you guys?”. Sam tried not to laugh but he found you incredibly cute, especially how you babbled on.

Dean licked his lips, he had about a thousand different ideas about how you could help him, “We’re having trouble figuring out what exactly we’re hunting”. You smiled, “Well I think I can help, follow me”. You started to lead them down to the basement while Dean let his eyes roll to the back of his head mouthing, “Oh my god” to his brother.

Sam shook his head in annoyance, he believed there was a lot more to you and didn’t want you to become one of his brothers flings. When you finally got into the room you pulled out your laptop and set it on the main table, “Okay what can you give me?”.

Dean raised his eyebrows, knowing exactly what he could give you but once again Sam intervened, “One of the witnesses said the creature had mottled skin and double sided irises”. You knew exactly what it was, but you were sad things were over so easily. Both brothers pulled a chair up next to you and you felt flushed being in the middle of such an attractive sandwich, especially with the way Dean was looking at you.

You pulled up the file, “I think what you have is an Arachne I know they’re only-”. Sam chimed in, “located in Greece”. Dean wanted to throw up, it had been five seconds and you were already finishing each other’s sentences. He placed his hand briefly on your knee sending shivers down your spine, “So how do we gank the son of a bitch?”.

You bit your lip trying to stop your mind from where it was going. You hoped Dean hadn’t noticed but he did, and he grinned realizing his effect on you. Turning to him you explained, “Decapitation is the only way they can be killed, and Sam I think ever since the apocalypse creatures have started appearing…it’s strange but-”.

Sam laughed, “Strange has become a regular adjective to describe our life”. Sam was amazed, it took you about a minute to know what the monster was and only with a few details. You got up, “I guess that solves things, I hope I was worth it”.

Dean got up too, “Oh trust me, you were so worth it”. You blushed again, obviously picking up on what Dean really meant. Sam added, “It was incredible how quickly you knew what we were hunting, thank you so much”.

Dean grinned, “You know we should get your number for future cases, you’re a lot easier to look at than Bobby” he finished his sentence with a wink. You laughed, “I don’t know Bobby does have this vibe to him…”.

Both brothers laughed but you finally said, “ I’d love to hear how the case goes, and I’d love to help out again”. You leaned down to write your number on a piece of paper and Dean raised his eyebrows to his brother again, signaling how good at this game he was.

That case started the relationship you had with the Winchesters. They called you to tell you how the case went, and then to ask for help on the next one, and then the next. Finally after a couple months you decided it would be easier to move into the bunker.

Bobby found someone to take over the library for you, a friend of his named Garth. You were happy to move in the Winchesters, the library had become the only family you’d had but at the end of the day it was just a building. It was a place filled with memories, but none that truly belonged to you.

Sam had become a close friend, while Dean had become somewhat of a love interest. Which meant; you were hopelessly in love with him but you weren’t sure how he felt. He flirted with you, but you never took it seriously because you soon learned Dean flirted with everyone.

On some cases you worked with their friend Charlie, she was similar to you. She loved fictional worlds, and shared your nerdy tendencies. A friendship soon formed, and you were thankful to not always be the only girl in the house. You told her everything, especially your feelings for Dean.

There was one other person you became close with, Castiel. You were working on a case about angels and Sam called him in to help you. From the moment you saw those piercing blue eyes you were sold, your heart confused at what you felt for both him and Dean. You justified what you felt with the fact that you didn’t even know how Dean felt.

You still remembered the first time you’d met him. You were in the library all alone when he walked in, a determined look on his face. His voice was low, “You must be (y/n) from Dean’s description but you don’t look hot you look of normal temperature for a human”. You laughed instantly, so this is what angels were like.

You stood up, “I’m guessing you’re Castiel-”. You lost your train of thought when you looked into his eyes, mesmerized by their intensity. Finally you caught yourself, “I’m sorry I’ve never met an angel before I-”. He smiled, “It’s okay, I haven’t met a human like you before” he said looking you up and down.

With the pressure of his gaze you felt uneasy, “Would you like to get started, I think we might be dealing with an archangel but I’m not sure”. Castiel sat down next to you and you couldn’t help but think about how close his body was to yours. Your mind started to drift so you tried to pull yourself back, but out of the corner of your eye you saw Castiel smirk.

You needed to bring your mind back, “What does this look like to you?”. Again Castiel grinned, but you just ignored it. He placed his arm over your chair and leaned forward looking at your computer screen, “I think your assumptions might be correct, but we need more evidence”.

You felt relieved that you knew what you were dealing with, until you realized your mind was drifting again. There was so many questions you had about angels; did they have sex or was that a sin, what can they really do with their grace, could angels even get hard?

You were too busy to notice the way Castiel was looking at you. The thing was you’d forgotten one essential thing about angels, they could read minds. Castiel heard every impure thought you’d had, and he was amused by them. On the outside you were so innocent, but he was starting to know how much your desires changed you.

This was something he could use to his advantage, you still thought he was innocent too. He rubbed your thigh lightly, “Are you okay (y/n), you seem distracted?”. You snapped out of your thoughts, but nearly went right back in when you realized how he was touching you. Trying to play it off you forced a laugh, “Yeah sorry, this has been a lot….the case”.

Castiel just smiled, you would be fun. From that moment on Castiel became very interested in you, but you never knew what he was really thinking. Could angels even flirt, could Castiel even flirt? You were in a constant whirlwind of emotions between him and Dean.

You were in the library with Charlie and Sam, obviously researching, when Dean walked in. Castiel trailed behind him, they both looked happy. Dean sat next to you, “Hey princess, what do you say we do something a little more fun?”.

Your heart started to race thinking about what fun could really mean so you missed the look Castiel gave Dean. After a second of letting you go crazy Dean added, “WE all could do something a little more fun”. Finally your heart slowed down, he was talking about everyone.

Charlie was excited, “Okay Dean what did you have in mind?”. The look that formed on Dean’s face sent shivers down your spine, he was up to something. He grinned, “We’re going to play good ole truth or dare….but sexual”.

Sam rolled his eyes, “Really Dean, what are we 16?”. You laughed at Sam’s comment, this did seem a bit juvenile. Dean put his hands up defensively, “Come on Sammy I think we’re all dying to know how innocent (y/n) really is”.

Suddenly all eyes were on you and you felt your entire face turn red. You smiled sheepishly, “Uh-”. Charlie cut you off, “ We’re in” she winked at you. You gave her a look but she didn’t care, she knew this might finally push you to do something with Dean.

Dean clapped his hands together, “Good, now who should go first…”. Again the whole room looked to you and you just shook your head. You rolled your eyes, “Okay, me I guess”. Dean looked to Castiel before looking back to you.

He grinned, “So truth or dare?”. You felt like you’d be screwed either way, “Dare”. Dean’s jaw dropped and the entire room cheered at your decision. Dean licked his lips, “I’ll start easy; I dare to tell you to tell me one of your kinks”.

Charlie started laughing and the rest of the gang became a thousand times more interested in what you were about to say. To the gang you were the innocent one, but if only they knew how you really were. You closed your eyes summoning up the courage, “Well you guys can’t judge me”. Dean had a weird look in his eyes, “I wouldn’t dream of it princess”.

Maybe it was because it was already extremely late, or the fact that you’d been thinking about Dean all day, regardless you told them the truth. For once you had the courage to let them know just how “innocent” you were.

You exhaled, “I like when people are really dominant…not just telling me what to do but just reminding me I’m yours..you know…like I better listen to….”. You decided to quit while you were ahead and you hid your face in Charlie’s shoulder. Charlie grinned, “Daddy…she was going to finish the sentence with daddy”.

You wanted to kill her, you weren’t embarrassed of what you liked it you were just shy. Dean tried to hide his excitement, he was so instantly turned on. Finally you looked up and you felt on fire between the looks Castiel and Dean were giving you.

Dean smiled, “Don’t be shy about it princess, to make things fair I’ll tell you one of mine”. You bit your lip in anticipation, there was no way to keep your thoughts pure now. He grinned, “We go hand and hand, I like being called Daddy and knowing I have a good little girl who listens to me”.

You squeezed your thighs together tried to stop the throbbing. Sam got up, “I didn’t need to hear that I’m gonna-”. Dean laughed, “Don’t act so pure Sammy we share a wall so I know what you’re up too”.

Sam looked from his brother to you and his whole face became a deep shade of red. He ran a hand through his hair, “Fine Dean, but I also don’t feel like hearing what gets you going”. Dean winked at you before saying, “Fine Sam, but I have a feeling the rest of the room is extremely interested”.

You felt yourself already getting wet, Dean was obviously talking about you. Sam rolled his eyes and excused himself. Dean didn’t skip a beat, “Alright princess, now it’s your turn to ask someone”. You decided that you wanted to ask Castiel a question. You grinned, “Castiel, truth or dare”.

Reading your thoughts Castiel knew picking truth would be a lot more entertaining, “I chose truth”. You tried not to blush, “Do angels have a sex drive or is that a sin?”. Castiel smiled, this would be so easy.

He looked to Dean and then you, “I have a sex drive, I may be an angel but I can be as sinful as I want”. Castiel looked you over while saying the second part, and the intensity of his gaze sent shivers down your spine.

Charlie spoke up, “Guys I know I don’t bat for your team but don’t bench me!”. Castiel turned to her and asked a question, “What is your favorite part of a woman?”. Charlie thought it over for a second before giggling.

She shrugged, “I’m a tits kinda girl I guess”. The boys both laughed and so did you. Somehow Charlie could make the most weirdest situations funny. She held up a finger, “I almost didn’t notice Cas but you didn’t ask me truth or dare, which makes that a clear violation. Which means you must now do what ever dare I chose”.

Cas nodded his head, he was a man of rules. Charlie giggled again, “Since you’re as sinful as you want I dare you to whisper the dirtiest sentence you can think of into (y/n)’s ear”. You jaw dropped a little, would you be able to handle that?

Castiel just nodded his head again and within a second he was next to you. With one hand he delicately moved your face towards him, and trailed the other up your thigh. You closed your eyes and felt his lips graze your ear, “I want you to be a good little girl for me and let Dean fuck that pretty little pussy of yours while you suck my cock”.

You bit your lip hiding a moan, you wanted so badly to say, “Yes daddy” but you remembered where you were. To your surprise after he was done speaking he kissed you below your jaw. Charlie and Dean were going wild.

Just like that he returned to his seat, leaving you wanting more. Charlie raised her eyebrows, “From how (y/n) is reacting I guess you weren’t lying”. Feeling all eyes on you, you were eager to divert the attention. You looked to Dean, “Truth or dare?”.

He leaned forward, “Dare princess”. You gulped, unsure of what to ask. You wanted to dare Dean to take you right there on the table, but you needed to control yourself. Smiling you said, “I dare you to tell me why you keep calling me princess”.

You figured that would be an easy question and that maybe the throbbing and desire you felt would stop, but you were wrong. He licked his lips, “I like how worked up it gets you, from the first time I called you it I saw what it did to you”.

You felt yourself beginning to blush again, unsure of what to say. Suddenly Charlie got a text and her entire demeanor changed. She sighed, “The bat signal has gone off guys, looks like my night is done”. You were sad that Charlie had to leave, and nervous that you’d be left with the boys.

She hugged you and everyone gave their goodbyes. Getting up you said, “Well that’s my night too, sorry to disappoint boys”. Dean looked up at you smiling, “You never disappoint princess”. You found yourself smiling but before you could walk out Castiel got up.

He reached out a hand, “The least we could do is walk you to your room”. That would be nice, and it seemed innocent enough so you agreed. They got up and gave each other weird looks, which made you rethink your decision.

Pushing it to the back of your mind you continued walking forward. It was a short walk to your room and before you knew it you were there. You opened the door and they both leaned on either side of the frame, “Well thanks guys, I guess I should go to bed”.

The truth was that you didn’t want to go to bed, you wanted the both of them like Castiel had suggested. You were too shy to act on it so for right now it just occupied your thoughts. They looked to each other and Castiel spoke up, “Your mind suggests otherwise (y/n)”.

You were confused, “My mind?”. They grinned now, a look of satisfaction on their faces. Castiel explained, “You’re a very intelligent girl (y/n), but you’ve been incorrect about the most fun part of being an angel; reading minds”.

There was no hiding it, your face turned bright red. You tried to remember everything you’d been thinking about, especially the dirtier stuff. Castiel laughed, “Yes, I’ve heard everything…you’re a dirty little thing”.

Now Dean chimed in, “I can’t believe I thought you were so innocent, I think it’s time we treat you like the dirty girl you are”. Your mouth just opened as you felt your desire growing, unable to respond.

Castiel got closer to you and again lifted your chin up with a finger, “Be a good girl and answer us”. Somehow you found the words and said, “Yes Castiel”. He turned to Dean smiling, everything was falling into place. They followed you into your room as Dean closed the door behind you.

Castiel added, “I want you to call me commander, think you can do that baby?”. You nodded your head but remembered what they wanted, “Yes commander”. Dean grinned, “Look how quickly she catches on, this will be fun”.

You just gulped, waiting to see what their next move would be. Castiel shook his head, “I can still read your thoughts (y/n), so eager”. Biting your lip you still waited to see what they’d tell you.

Dean looked you up and down, “I think I wanna play with her for a little while you watch, is that something you’d like princess?”. Your breathing became more rapid, “Yes daddy”. Dean lead you towards the bed, your back against the headboard.

He bit his lip, “Let’s get you out of those clothes”. You started to lift the dress you’d been wearing, leaving you in just your baby blue bra and panties set. Dean groaned, “Fuck Cas, look at how beautiful she is”.

By now Castiel had sat in your desk chair, lightly palming himself through his jeans, “Breathtaking…”. You felt yourself getting wetter with all the attention and anticipation. Dean turned your head towards his, “I’ve wanted to do this since the first day we met”.

He lightly placed his lips on yours while his hand cupped your cheek. The kiss ignited a flame of desire in your core, you wanted more. When it was over he slowly dragged down your bottom lip with his thumb, “Fuck you’re amazing”.

You were so needy, “Dean..I-”. He shook his head and brought his hand to lightly grasp your throat, “Daddy”. It made your breath hitch and your core soaked. You blinked, “Daddy, I need more”. He removed his hand and kissed your forehead, “Good girl”.

His hand trailed down your stomach and slipped under your panties, he slowly inserted one finger inside of you and you moaned. Dean took his finger out and sucked on it, “You taste so good princess”. You watched him with your mouth wide open, so turned on.

Dean moved down the bed, bringing himself closer to your core. He slowly took off your panties, “No need for these doll”. After that he spread your legs and you bit your finger unsure of his next move. He licked his lips, “So fucking beautiful princess”.

His praises were turning you on even more. Dean licked up your folds and you moaned at his touch. He flicked his tongue lightly over your clit, sending shivers down your spine. Looking to your left you saw Castiel was now fully exposed, stroking his shaft.

Seeing Castiel made you even more needy, he looked so good. Dean spread your folds with his two fingers, exposing you further. He started to trace patterns over your clit with his tongue, “Fuck daddy that feels so good”. Castiel groaned, becoming more turned on too.

You bucked your hips, needing more, but with his hands Dean held you down. You loved the feeling of having no control, your pleasure all up to Dean. He moved his head faster and you felt yourself getting closer, “Daddy please I’m-”.

Dean stopped what he was doing, “I know princess, but I want to feel you cum around my cock”. He moved back up next to you and called over Castiel. You felt the bed sink down as Castiel sat next to you.

He placed a stray strand of hair behind your ear, “You look so beautiful when you’re so worked up”. Before you could reply he crashed his lips into yours, his dominance surprising you. Castiel knew what he wanted and didn’t hesitate to take in.

During the kiss Castiel shifted your body, bringing you ontop of him. Dean now kneeled behind you, and brought your ass to press against him. Once the kiss was over Castiel said, “I want to see those pretty lips wrapped around your commanders cock”.

You nodded, “Yes commander”. Dean groaned, “She’s such a good little girl”. Getting on all fours your ass pressed against Dean and your lips hovered over Castiel’s cock. You licked slowly up Castiel’s shaft, swirling your tongue around his tip causing him to moan.

You felt Dean’s tip press against your pussy, “Please daddy”. He slapped your ass, “Not until you start to suck his cock”. You nodded your head and finally took Cas in your mouth. Finally when you took as much of Castiel as you could you felt Dean enter you.

You moaned against Castiel’s cock which caused him to buck his hips forward. Dean started to enter in and out of you, stretching your walls. Following his speed you started to bob your head up and down. Castiel got a fistful of your hair, pushing your head down lightly.

Cas moaned, “Fuck this feels so good”. Dean slapped your ass, “Damn straight”. You liked the slight tang of pain you felt when he slapped your ass. Dean placed his hands on your hips, thrusting himself deeper inside you. You moaned against Castiel’s cock again, “Fuck Dean, keep going..it feels so good when she moans against my cock”.

Dean went faster, “That’s it princess, you look so good with a mouthful of his cock”. You took even more of Cas in your mouth, the feeling of being completely filled so intoxicating. With your hand you started to play with his balls, making Castiel moan even more.

You knew you were getting close and Cas let Dean know, “Our good little girl wants to cum”. Both boys were just as close as you were, everything was so intense. Dean felt himself getting sloppier, “Fuck princess, I do too, cum when we tell you”.

Castiel started thrusting himself into your mouth, “You’re gonna make your commander cum all over those pretty lips”. Dean was thrusting so deeply into you he was hitting your g-spot every time. You felt like you were going to explode, and you didn’t know if you could hold on any longer.

Dean was moaning so loudly, “Shit this feels so good, doesn’t it babygirl”. Castiel was just as close, “Let’s let the good little girl cum for us Dean”. Suddenly both boys started thrusting even deeper, and you felt your senses become flooded.

Dean nearly yelled, “Cum for us princess, fucking cum for us right now, be a good girl and fucking cum”. That was all you needed, you let yourself go. Your body shut down, the only thing you could process was the pleasure.

It was like a bomb that went off in your core and shook through your entire body. All you could do was moan, but you mouth was filled. You moans sent vibrations against Castiel’s cock, and then he was cumming too. You felt his hot load shoot to the back of your throat, but you continued sucking.

Castiel moaned so loudly, “Fuck she’s still sucking…shit I’m so sensitive..fuck”. This was all enough to set Dean off too. He felt your walls clench against his dick and he thrusted even harder. The moans that filled the room caused his own orgasm.

He exploded inside of you, filling you up. You groaned as you felt him twitch inside of you. All the sensations were so intense, all you could do was moan. As he came Dean held onto your hips tighter. Finally you were left shaking, as both boys pulled out of you.

Castiel pulled you up towards him, placing a his lips on yours. You felt the bed shift again as Dean sat next to you both. When you were done kissing Castiel, Dean pulled you in for a kiss. Castiel laughed, “What about sharing Dean?”.

Dean smiled against your lips ending the kiss, “It’s just so hard when it comes to (y/n)”. Smiling aswell you finally spoke up, “ I am all for sharing”. Castiel pulled you so you were perfectly in between the both of them.

They each started to caress your body, sending shivers down your spine. Dean nibbed on your ear, “Fuck you’re so perfect”. Castiel whispered in your other year, “So incredibly perfect”. You sat there feeling the happiest you’d ever felt, in between two of the people you cared for the most.

Dean finally said it, “I love you princess, always have always will”. He kissed you again, preserving the moment with your bodies. While the kiss continued Castiel whispered in your ear, “I love you too (y/n), I didn’t know I could”.

When the kiss was over you were left panting, “I love you both so much”. They just smiled, just as content with life. They were incredibly excited for what your future together held, even for what rest of the night held.

Spencer paced back and forth in his small living room, continuously flipping through the pages of the manuscript. “You wrote a book about us?” he said as soon as he head the call connects. “Hi, how are? I’m doing okay, thank you for asking Spencer how about your self?” you said in a sarcastic tone of voice.  “Y/N, hello, how are you, I’m doing well. Did you write a book about us?”

“I wrote a book, in regards of certain events that unfolded in my life, you we’re involved in them. Therefor you are in the book, but there is no us so I did not write it about us, Spencer” you said calmly.

“Right” he wasn’t satisfied with that answer. “Look it doesn’t have your name specifically, it’s a young adult fiction book, no one you know is going to read it. I sent it to you only because I wanted you to know, but that’s all.”

“Right, of course, no one is going to read it. Also I don’t think I look like a Matthew why did you name me Matthew?”

“Spencer if that is the only comment you have about that book, go read it again,” you said hanging up the phone.

Spencer walked into Garcia’s office reading over the case file he was finishing, “Hey Garcia, can you verify this location for me.”

When she hadn’t responded he looked up to see her, and JJ’s face completely hidden behind a book, the book. “What are you guys doing?” Spencer said terrified. “Oh my god, this is so sad.” Penelope said still unable to put down the book. “I didn’t think it’d be so sad” JJ commented.

“What are you guys doing” Spencer asked again. “Reading, genius what does it look like” Penelope said flipping to the next page. “It looks like you’re not working”

“How can we work? I need to know what Matthew does next, does he really marry Sara? Does Mila ever move on?” Penelope said dramatically.

“You’re reading a young adult book, on some teenagers relationship?” Spencer said trying to keep it casual. “This isn’t even real” he said trying to laughing it off.

“Well I hope it isn’t because if I we’re to ever meet this Matthew I would give him a piece of my very uncensored mind, I can’t believe he wouldn’t pick Mila, she was clearly the right choice” Penelope said.

“Seriously for being as smart as they make him sound he sure made a stupid move” JJ added.

Spencer was shocked to hear what his friends had to say. He knew he had made the right choice, he was certain he had. So certain, he’d never told anyone the whole story about you, because he didn’t need anyone’s opinions. But here they we’re reading it, and giving him all the unfiltered opinions he never thought he’d get to hear.

“Well let me know when you finally get back to work” he said as he headed for the door. “It’s gonna be a while Penelopes Magical Workshop of Knowledge is currently heart broken”

The book began to haunt Spencer is ways he never thought it would. There we’re poster advertisements everywhere he went. Every coffee shop was selling a copy, every book store was displaying it, every library was announcing when they’d have it available.

There was no escaping it, there was no escaping the thought that maybe he hadn’t made the right choice. Spencer sat at the table nervously awaiting your arrival. “I’m sorry I’m late, traffic was awful” you said catching Spencer by surprise when you sat next to him.

You grabbed the glass of water that was placed in the seat he was expecting you to take across from him. You didn’t see each other much, for many reasons, the primary excuse we’re your jobs, and crazy schedules. The other reasons we’re only spoken of once you had consumed enough alcohol.

You started off by catching up with any new work news or crazy cases he had, next the small talk of family. Followed by any news, weather, or books you had recently read. You both knew the small talk was coming to an end when you began to talk about the food.

The same things we’re always said about the food, because you had been coming here for the last seven years. Gotten the same thing every time for the last seven years. Some might think it was repulsive to be so repetitive but this place held meaning.

It was where you told Spencer you loved him, it was where he told you, “You’re my best friend, I can’t risk losing you” it was where you told him you we’re getting married. That same restaurant was where he took you too eat the day you ran the opposite direction down the isle.

But still you we’re his best friend, and he couldn’t risk losing you. It was where just a year ago he told you about Sara, and just six months ago he showed you the ring he would propose to her with. That was the last time you told him how you felt, just one last time.

So many memories, just not the ones you wanted. “Your book is every where, even my co workers have read it.”

“Well so much for FBI agents not reading young adult love stories” you said shocked. “Well I’m sorry, they didn’t say anything did they”

“Yeah they did. They said Matthew was stupid and he made the wrong choice, and that for being so smart he sure was stupid” Spencer said with a fake smile on his face. “So did I make the wrong choice Y/N”

“That’s for you to answer Spencer, I’ve said everything I had to say. I even wrote it down for you so would never forget”

“I’m sorry, I don’t want to do this again, I don’t want to hurt you, those we’re never my intentions.” Spencer could barely look at you in the eyes.

“It’s in the past, are we ever going to be able to keep any of this in the past”

That was the real question. For years it was a silent agreement, an elephant in the room. You never spoke of your feelings for him, although he knew. There we’re so many times when you swore he felt them too. It was so easy to fall in love with him, but so hard to forget about him.

“There was one thing I have to say about the book”

You looked at him curiously, “You left out that Matthew loved Mila just as much as much. You made it seem as if I lied and I didn’t, but I didn’t have the courage to risk losing you”

“We lose some people either way”

    “You’re right”

As Spencer walked up to his door the package in front of his door caught his attention, quickly he opened the sealed letter tapped to it.

“There are so many things I want to say, first off congratulations. Second of all, I’m afraid I’ll be missing the wedding. Warm weather, and sandy beaches await me. Third of all, I re-wrote the ending to the book. I wanted to give it, us, the happy ending we didn’t have the courage to give our self’s. Maybe in another lifetime, maybe never who knows. I’ll see you soon Spencer Reid.” Spencer traced over the words on the handwritten notes. Reaching inside of the shipping bag, he found the book, immediately flipping opening up.

“Dedicated to: Boy Wonder, it was an adventure being your friend, what a pleasure having my heart broken by you”

OUAT Mini-Review 6x11: Tougher Than The Rest

We’re baaaaack! At last I can leave the anti-rumple tag, which I’ve been in so long I started to get brochures about time shares, and go back to snarking on everyone. Oh, happy day! Let’s dive into that enchanted overnight wardrobe together. Ready?

    1. Someone needs to talk to Emma about her eyebrow situation– she looks perpetually surprised and slightly upset. That’s how most Rumbellers felt all of 6A so I feel you, Emma– but Kabuki Eyebrows are not the look for spring. Change the fate on your face first, yes?
    2. Teen!August looked nothing like either Adult!August or Kid!August but maybe that’s a subtle meta-commentary on unreliable narrators? Discuss.
    3. Kid!Emma looks like she could punch you in the face and I admire that. It’s tough to glare in a beanie, but she’s got it down. I love that she chose her own name, too.
    4. I don’t know why they needed a magic chisel when Pinocchio could just chew the scenery all the way down to Storybrooke. But while I disliked the O.G. bobble-headed liar I really liked Wish!August, daddy issues and all. I even liked that Original!August was typing on the Mystery Fakeout Typewriter in the garage so he wouldn’t wake his Papa. Such a nice boy. I guess this episode was about Redeeming Non-viable Stubbly Love Interests– I’m not sure we needed that, but it was nice to see. (Now, where’s Walsh?)
    5. Wish!August carved a wooden swan (ship name call-out!) out of instinct, and Wish!Robin had his feather and didn’t age (along with Wish!Sheriff Nottingham), implying that there IS a connection between the Wish!realm and the “real” realm. Maybe all Wish!Robins go to heaven?
    6. Wish!Robin is bitter and salty and somehow I liked him better than the real thing. Wish!Robin and Regina had more of a believable connection in this episode than all of S3-5 for me, which just goes to show when you slow down and have people talk to one another instead of just screaming at monsters in the same frame magic can happen.
    7. Regina gets hit with the Anti-magic Slap Bracelet of Convenient Plot-points … but wasn’t that brought to Storybrooke by Greg/Tamara/Peter Pan? How would it appear in the Wish!verse? (Cue Wish!Rumple reading “Circuitry and Plot Holes for Dummies.”)
    8. I know we’re supposed to sympathize that Regina’s super glum that this realm seems to be “better off without her” but, you know, she DID drop a lot of bodies. I want Regina to love herself and re-integrate post-haste because it’s healthy  … and also because Split!EvilQueen has killed three people and screwed with Belle. But I am here for Happy!Regina– let’s see more of that this season.
    9. Wish!Hook was there for comedic effect, and it worked for me! Nice to know he’s still got his swagger in this realm; I didn’t even mind the potbelly. What would you rather, a bag of bones?
    10. Speaking of which … So Wish!Snow and Charming never checked Regina’s tower for prisoners, which is why Wish!Belle starved to death along with who knows how many others? This is why Regina is mayor. This is why Regina will ALWAYS be mayor. Remember in S2 when the curse broke and everyone was running around trying to find their loved ones and Charming just gave a speech about hope, when it turned out Regina had binders that scrupulously recorded everyone’s real name, cursed name, and address because she’s a giant nerd who takes her real-life SIMS game seriously? Regina may kill the odd peasant when she’s having a bad day but she’s the Project Manager Storybrooke needs, is what I’m saying.
    11. If Belle was dead for 28 years when Rumple found her skeleton, how did he know it was her? Did Belle claw a goodbye message in the walls before she died? “DEAR RUMPLE SORRY WE NEVER BANGED XOXO BELLE.”
    12. Also, that wasn’t remotely a full skeleton Rumple dropped on the ground. What did he do with the re– you know what? I don’t wanna know. (Note to fic writers: I don’t want to see the words “sad wanking” and “tibia” in the same sentence, okay? O-KAY?)
    13. Gideon wants to be a hero, like his mom, by stabbing someone, like his dad. I love it. Gideon is a tall emo drink of Angsty Monk and I totally would– but where are his lips? #PoofGideonLips2k17
    14. When Rumple had his tete-to-eyes-all-the-way-up-here-tete with Gideon and went: “You’ve been alive for 28 years, I’ve been alive for centuries. There are things a man learns …” I thought for a second it was going to turn into a rather-late-in-the-day explanation of the birds and the bees. “Your mother has written this pamphlet with some of her favorite positions, but you have to be a bit flexible to– wait, where are you going?”
    15. Do you think Belle has her wardrobe categorized by mood? Her white fur coat ensemble was filed under “I’m Trustworthy But I Like to Bang Dangerous People.”
    16. Unless the script read: “RUMPLE sneaks off STAGE LEFT while BELLE awkwardly goose-steps off STAGE RIGHT” the director has some explaining to do. That was the worst example of “walk casual” I’ve ever seen, unless they just had an angsty parental quickie in the alley or something.
    17. Speaking of weird directorial choices, where’s the missing scene between Belle and Gideon? At the well Belle intimates that Hook/Charming “betrayed her trust”– but she just asked them to hold off until she could talk to Gideon. That was during the day and then all of a sudden it’s night, Belle’s changed outfits, she hasn’t talked to Gideon, and she says she “protected [Gideon] knowing what he wanted to do.” Er, was this off-screen? I know a lot of Rumbelle is reading between the lines but sometimes things need to make it in the episode, you guys. Maybe next episode will have a Belle/Gideon conversation and they didn’t want to be too repetitive?
    18. Way to ruin your mom’s clock tower, Gideon! I know some people were mad at Belle for staying on the Jolly Roger in 6A instead of in her library apartment … but do you know how many times the clock tower has been broken into by villains? Maid!Joanna died there, Hook was tied up there, Rumple tried to massacre nuns there, Maleficent was in the basement for 28 years, I think Dark Swan hung out there once … Belle would never get any rest up there, is what I’m saying.
    19. Charming is going off the rails on a sleep-deprived crazy train and I’m here for it. But remember, Snow is the brains of this particular operation. Tag her back in before you drop of exhaustion, yes? No more than three Red Bulls at a time.
    20. I’m all for the message that you can change your fate, but this is intimating the writers are taking “Killing Emma” off the table of options, no? That leaves either depowering-via-shears, sleeping curse until a “cure” is found, or some kind of Hail Mary-Margaret shenanigans in the finale involving a mass-TLK or something. *bites fingernails* I can’t stand the suspense!
continuation of the ODSS-1b fig newton story

the person who sent in those other asks was totally right so ive continued my earlier story some to reflect that. i might write more in this same vein? im not sure. this is sorta… idk, it’s not the Best thing but it sure is a thing, and at least i remembered to save it this time lmao

The first time you notice them is probably a Thursday. You’re just guessing, though; you’ve been in the library for a long time. They’re in the psychology section, which intrigues you, so you walk up behind them silently. They have their index finger on the spine of a book titled “Dissociative Disorders: a Guide” which you’ve read and don’t like, so you tell them so,

“That one doesn’t have reliable sources and contains lots of misinformation.”

They flinch, and drop the other books they’re carrying. As they bend down and scrabble to pick them up, they also duck their head, hiding behind a thick curtain of dark hair.

“Oh, sorry,” you say, and kneel down to help them. Oops. You hope they never think to call that in. You’ve been here for practically Ever, you should have this down by now.

“I’ve got it,” they say suddenly, severely, almost sounding scared.

You catch a glimpse of a tattered notebook before it disappears behind a Chemistry textbook. When they’ve finished gathering their stuff back up, they don’t look at you, but still ask,

“Um… How do you know the book is bad?”

“I’ve read it,” you tell them, “and I was in a position where I needed accurate information, and it lead me to Make a Deal that maybe wasn’t the best choice.”

They look up at you then, dark eyes striking and intense, and say,

“You made a deal based on the information in a book on dissociative disorders.”

It’s not quite a question, but you nod anyway. You narrow your eyes at them, and they dip their head to let their hair cover the left side of their face back up. They’re still looking at you with the other eye, and you’re beginning to suspect they’re in a similar situation to where you were upon arriving at Elsewhere University. They’re a freshman; you can tell because a copy of the orientation brochure is sticking out of their Chemistry textbook.

“I can recommend a better book if this is for a class project…?” you let your voice tilt up at the end of your sentence to make it into a question, and they hesitate, before shaking their head.

“It’s maybe a little bit personal.”

You nod, because that’s what you thought.

The fluorescent lights above me flicker slightly, and the building is eerily quiet, I smile to myself at the silence.

I pull open another door, and it squeaks slightly as I slip in and let it fall closed behind me with a creak. The room is darker than the rest of the building, only a few lights dangle from the ceiling, their bulbs dim from so many years of use. I place my bag on an empty hook, letting it hang there as I slip my keys out of the pocket of my leggings, dumping them into my bag unceremoniously.

“Margaret?” I call out, wandering through the huge stacks of books that fill the room from floor to ceiling, turning it into an endless maze.

“Over here, dear!” She yells, her voice muffled by all the books, and I try to pinpoint her location as I walk past the stacks and stacks of literature.

               “Where?”

               “By ancient Chinese folklore!”

I shuffle back a few steps, turning down another aisle of books and I see a flutter of patterned fabric.

“You’re here early tonight,” She murmurs, never taking her eyes away from the list of titles she’s working through.

“I needed an escape.” I respond back simply.

She nods, not pressing for any elaboration or an explanation. That’s one of the things I like most about Margaret, she doesn’t expect you to tell her everything. She respects the fact that I’m not a very open person, and that I will say as much as I need but that I don’t really like to divulge a lot of information. I glance at her, taking in her appearance. Her hair is varying shades of gray, falling down to her waist in a tangle of long, wild curls. There are crinkled, wrinkles around her green eyes, and smile lines near the corner of he mouth. Her long skirt is covered in a tribal print of some sort and the soft material trails well past her feet so that she has to lift it slightly as she walks, causing it to billow behind her.

“Did you hear me, dear?” She asks, breaking my train of thought, and I look up at her quickly.

“Sorry, I just kind of zoned out.” I say apologetically and she smiles at me knowingly, “Can you repeat what you said?”

“I need you to train the young man starting tonight.”

    Dude Looks Like A Lady

Pairing: Winchester brothers x reader (platonic)

Summary: A witch has some fun with gender switch spells

    Word count: 2.800

Warnings: Attempted crack, swearing, mentions of genitals and gender stereotypes, grumpy Dean, a little violence

A/N: This is written for Jess and Lee’s “Crack Challenge. Thanks for setting this up, because even though I didn’t find this easy to write it was a lot of fun!

Beta’d by the amazing, fantastic, lovely @nickiwinchester97 ! Love you Vanilla Bear ❤

    (gif is not mine)

At least once in a lifetime, everybody makes a mistake that you regret before you’ve made it. For you, this happened while you were on a hunt with the Winchesters.

They had called you a couple of days ago and asked you for help with a case they were working on. Since you’d helped them out on a hunt in Nebraska, not more than a few years ago you stayed in contact with the brothers, called each other if you were looking for information and even met up for hunts sometimes.

It was pretty obvious that you were dealing with a witch and you didn’t waste any time tracking her down. Since she seemed to be young and inexperienced everything went fast and smooth, that was until you met the witch in her apartment.

Maybe she wasn’t the strongest witch you’d ever dealt with, but she was smart and didn’t give up too easily. You really, absolutely, fatally underestimated her. After all, she was a murdering monster, testing her magic powers on humans, playing her tricks on them until they lost their minds. However, the Winchesters and you felt way too invincible and confident to see it.

She gave you a hell of a fight and ended it by burying you under a bookshelf. You groaned and cursed as she left the room. You tried to lift everything off you, but every time you moved there was just another pile of books coming down on you.

It was then that you heard a high-pitched scream from the room the witch disappeared in. Satisfied that the brothers finally got her, you managed to dig your way out from under the shelf and sat up. You winced as the pain coursed through your body, but you realized that it was nothing too bad and went over to the door.

At first, you didn’t understand what you were seeing. The room was a mess, just like the other one, and in the middle of it stood a woman. A tall lady with long, blonde curls, long legs in broad jeans, and probably the biggest boobs you’d ever seen. Her big green eyes fell upon you and her full lips were agape in shock.

“This witch bitch just made me a freaking woman!” she screamed, her voice high and full of desperation, disbelief, and outrage.

Why Am I Like This | Part 1 | JUGHEAD JONES X READER

Description: When talking about a possible homecoming date with her friends, the readers longtime crush Jughead Jones leaves Pop’s diner in a rush but forgets his beloved laptop. What Kevin, Veronica, Archie, and the reader stumble upon raised more questions than answers regarding an apparent secret crush Jughead has someone.

    Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4| Part 5

For the record, I’m not normally the type of person to go snooping around in other people’s things. But alongside all the secrets that were unveiled in the wake of Jason Blossom’s murder, was the news that my longtime partner in crime/ friend I’ve had a crush on since the beginning of time Jughead Jones, was in love. And it all started one evening when I walked into Pop’s diner.

“Look who finally decided to grace us with her presence,” Kevin announced loudly as I approached the booth my friends were sitting at.

I rolled my eyes and gestured for Veronica to scoot over so I could sit down. Kevin was pressed up against the window with me and Veronica next to him while Archie and Jughead sat across from us.

“I’m sorry but you know that cross country has its state competition in a month. I gotta run my extra 6 miles a day to build endurance,” I once again explained. I waved over a waitress and ordered a serving fries while Archie and Kevin mocked me. Jughead sat at his computer typing away not once looking up from his screen.

Veronica leaned forward and lowered her voice. “Speaking of cross country, did I see you speaking with Matthew Jackson this morning during your before school practice.” This received a chorus of long, drawn out oooohs from Archie and Kevin.

Jughead stopped typing and looked up from his computer, suddenly very interested in our conversation. A piece of raven black hair fell in front of his crystal blue eyes. Veronica leaned back into her seat pleased with herself.

    Length: 1205+ words

TW: Mentions of Torture, Rape, Child Abuse, Child Soldiers, Etc.

A/N: And thus concludes this series! I had a lot more Sam x Reader, but most of that was cut to the “sequel” that may or may not even happen. I hope you guys enjoyed this series as much as I love writing it! It was a pretty cliche trope, but I had to write this down bc it was taking too much space in my brain!

“Wh-What?” You managed to stutter your confusion. Before you could even process what he was saying, there was a deafening silence as if your ears were clogged. Your heart was beating rapidly, and you found yourself closed in within the four walls. “I-I can-can’t br-breath!”

“Hey, hey, sweetheart,” Dean quickly whispered soothingly, bringing you into his arms. He crossed his legs, bringing you to his lap. He leaned your head on his shoulder, rubbing your back. “It’s okay. Listen to my heartbeat. I’m here. You’re safe.”

You listened to the thumping of his heartbeat, following the movement of his chest as he inhaled and exhaled. Finally, you calmed down. “I’m sorry,” you mumbled, wiping away the tears.

“You don’t have to apologize,” Sam said quickly, giving you a sympathetic smile.

“What did you find?” Dean asked. He and Sam had talked about her family more than once when she had first came into their lives. They wanted her to live as normal as possible, but they couldn’t find any information on her family.

You swallowed thickly, not knowing the answer you were going to get.

    “They’re alive.”

    Your eyes widened. “Wh- What?”

Dean’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion. They assumed they were dead because if they were alive there would’ve been trails of your disappearance- a police case file, a newspaper article, anything, but they had found nothing.

“James, and Martha faked your death to be of a natural cause, a school bus that crashed while crossing a bridge, drowning most of the kids. It was horrible, some of the bodies were never recovered, yours included. The news article wasn’t very descriptive, seeing as the mayor’s son was also on that bus. Their family got more attention from the news while other families grieved silently.”

    “I-I don’t understand… I was kidnapped at a park. I’m sure I was.”

Sam shook his head. “The field trip you were on was to a national park, but you were on that bus when it crashed.”

“They might have possessed you when you were at the park,” Dean suggested.

Sam nodded, signalling that was the conclusion he came up with as well. “And you were so young when it happened.”

    “And my parents?”

“Right. The only reason it came up was because,” Sam paused, clearing his throat, “you have a little sister.”

    anonymous asked:

It's more that he takes up so much screentime that no other character has gotten well-paced growth or a backstory arc. Cassandra suddenly had a call from the hospital that her tumor's worse but she hadn't had symptoms all season? Ezekiel is a super empathetic person for one episode then back to snark 24/7? Eve hasn't gotten focus since S1 Christmas, she's always Flynn's SO. I like him, but they're using him too much and we're going into the fourth season barely knowing any details about the cast

Okay I’m sorry but this actually made me laugh

“he takes up too much screentime”

Out of all 30 episodes, over 3 seasons, Flynn has only been in 16. One of them (And the Eternal Question) he about 10 minutes of screentime. Only 2 of those episodes were even focused on Flynn (”And the Hollow Man” and “And the Trial of the Triangle”).

“no other character has gotten well-paced growth or a backstory arc”

This has nothing to do with Flynn being in episodes. This is entirely because The Librarians is a small show with only 10 episodes per season. There are massive time jumps between episodes and we can only get so much story in 40 minutes.

The backstory of every character has been address in multiple occasions at this point. I mean, Jacob had an entire episode, “And What Lies Beneath the Stone (AKA Coyote)”, dedicated to his previous home life, in “And the Rule of Three” we learn that Cassandra’s family was rather controlling as well as her emotions over her tumor in “And the Heart of Darkness”, and in “And the Curse of Cindy” and “And What Lies Beneath the Stone (AKA Coyote)” we learn that Ezekiel once worked for MI6 and grew up impoverished. Jenkins even got backstory points in “And the Apple of Dischord” and “And the Fatal Separation”, as well as sprinkles of his history throughout other episodes.

I would also like to point out, the first show runner and one of the main writers for 1 and 2, John Rogers, was not fond of throwing backstory at the audience, in fact “backstory arc” probably would have made him cringe.

“Eve hasn’t gotten focus since S1 Christmas”

Eve focused episodes: “And Santa’s Midnight Run”, “And the Loom of Fate”, “And the Infernal Contract”, “And the Image of Image”,  and “And the Self-Fulfilling Prophecy”. We get backstory in two of these episodes as well as a little backstory in “And the Fatal Separation”.

“but they’re using him too much and we’re going into the fourth season barely knowing any details about the cast”

Once again, 16 episodes, and we know a lot about these characters for only 30 episodes, I’m not sure what show you’re watching.

    Eve Baird:

    • Military parents, born on Christmas Eve
    • Spent most of her life in the military
    • Went through A LOT to get to her position in NATO including sexual harassment from the people she worked with
    • This resulted with her having some issues with self image and the way people interrupt you based on how you look, and does not like having photos taken of her because of this
    • Stays in touch with the people she fought with, even had a mentor
    • Incredibly protective, only wants the best for the Librarians and the Library
    • Also not “always Flynn’s SO” in “And the Hollow Men” she left his bitch ass behind when he wouldn’t stick around, and was prepared to do it again as many times as she needed to in order to protect Cassandra, Jacob, and Ezekiel
    • BEAT DESTINY LIKE TWICE WHO DOES THAT
    • Growth: Over the past 3 season we’ve watched Eve turn from a hardened boss bitch military solider to someone who cares fiercely but is still learning to be a guardian to someone who understands that the people she works with are human and acts in their best interest

    Jacob Stone

    • Rural upbringing with a bitch of a father and a most likely absent mother
    • Worked on an oil rigging firm that his father hoped he would run with him one day whether he wanted to or not
    • Had to grow up with a father who thought he was a dumbass as he taught himself to read ancient greek texts at night
    • Has major league trust issues after spending about 30+ years hiding his identity from people
    • Passionate, will fight for what he believes, even if it’s against people he admires
    • Better singer than Ezekiel
    • Probably would’ve been a professor is he had a different life cause honestly he was enjoying himself way to much in “And the Cost of Education”
    • Doesn’t think too highly of himself when it comes to fighting, before “And the Fatal Separation” he only thought of himself as a bar fighter
    • Incredibly loyal once somebody’s earned his trust
    • Growth: Over the past 3 season Jacob as grown from a distrustful man who hides his abilities from the world to someone is unashamed of his passion and fully trusts the people around him

    Cassandra Cillian

    • Had a mom and dad who pushed her to be the best in academics, no matter what she wanted
    • Diagnosed with her tumor at 15 years old
    • Her parents threw out all her STEM trophies when she became too sick to compete
    • Grew up feeling inadequate, constantly reminder of her mortality as well as having to face her synthesis attacks
    • Couldn’t go to college, despite how badly she wanted to
    • Child-like at heart, because she grew up with parents who never gave her the chance to believe in magic (they told her Santa wasn’t real when she was 3)
    • Picked her own death date when she was diagnosed with her tumor because she wanted to die on her own terms
    • Feels the need to prove herself because before she thought her gift was a curse that made her useless and now struggles with the idea that her gift is the only thing that makes her useful
    • BISEXUAL AS HELL
    • Growth: We’ve watched Cassandra gain control of her abilities gradually over the course of season 1 then gain confidence as she finds something she’s quite good at (combining science and magic) over season 2 to someone who has learned that she does not need magic or her gift to be useful

    Ezekiel

    • Grew up impoverished (with someone else, as he says “we” in his monologue)
    • Was made fun of by the other kids, this made him grow to resent other people and just take what he wants
    • Was recruited by MI6 for his skills (and in fact did enough for and against the MI6 that he has 2 separate files)
    • Believes he’s only good at stealing, and is proud of his abilities
    • Met Flynn once while Flynn was the only Librarian
    • In that same time period, made a name for himself among the underground community of thieves
    • Spent a lot of times in night clubs, enough to be able to easily recognize different symptoms of drug use and how to treat them
    • Still cares greatly for the wellbeing of other people, even though he’s constantly egotistical
    • He was at one point, the worst version of himself, and wasn’t even that bad
    • Growth: Went from literally the worst version of himself, someone who would bail on the people who needed him and would rather run then punch, to someone who would go through the same torture repeatedly to save his friends and not even boast about it, in fact he fakes forgetting everything, who sacrifice himself to help the cause, and would fight side by side with people who once though he was just an egotistical brat

    Jenkins

    • Was once the night Galahad of Camelot
    • Fought his own father, who turned to the Serpent Brotherhood and bring chaos to the world
    • Has spent thousands of years working for the Library, tinkering and enhancing magical objects
    • Does not like the first Librarian, Judson, because he fell in love with the first Guardian, Charlene, but Charlene chose Judson over him
    • Is friends with Mrs. Clause apparently?!?
    • Also performed naked on stage at one point?!!?
    • Unfortunately that’s all I can think of because we haven’t had much with Camelot since season 1 and I’m just waiting for the Jenkins focused episode I need in my life
    • Growth: Grew from a grumpy caretaker who wanted nothing more than to be left alone and not bother to someone who cares deeply for the people he’s become friends with and actually charge into dangerous situations to save them after even being told not to (I mean, dude jumped off a cliff to save Eve man like my gosh)

I would list Flynn’s stuff, but I have 3 movies worth of backstory for him and I can’t properly separate it from the show without having to rewatch everything.

However, I think at this point it should be rather obvious that Flynn being in only half of the series has done very little to actually affect the developing story and the character growth in The Librarians

“Well, I would study for that tactics exam but Jim’s probably going to try to drag me out to a bar,” he shrugged.

“Do you want to come by my place?”

“Don’t you have plans with what’s his face?”

    “Nah, I turned him down.”

“Have you just bene stringing him along?”

“I’ve been turning him down every time he asks me out. Not my fault he’s persistent.”

“You should go out with him. He clearly likes you and seems like a decent guy.”

“And I don’t like him. I have my eye on someone else.”

“Oh, do you now? Why haven’t asked him out?”

“Because it’s not time to yet,” you answered before splitting off from him. “See you at seven?”

“Yeah, unless Jim physically drags me out,” he called after you.

    CHAPTER 1 / 8

The boy is a brunette, eyes the color of oak, and yet though they look nothing alike, he reminds Emma too much of herself. She can still taste the tang of blood as her teeth had crashed against the metal bars of the playground, the jeering of the children as they bullied the dirty little unwensket.

It’s why she’s here, why she’d taken this rather perilous career of Placing unwenskets, or unwanted human children.

“Emma?” little Henry asked, voice strong despite knowing that a visit from Emma Swan meant he was still alone, without a family.

“Hmm?” she responded, running her fingers across the boy’s messy hair, attempting to make it look more presentable.

“What’s Recognition? Or soul meets soul when eyes meet eyes?”

Emma paused, then continued her administrations more slowly. She wanted to ask where Henry had heard that, but considering the theme of Recognition was embedded into all parts of elvish and human society, it seemed like a moot question.

“Recognition is when two beings of the opposite sex have a case of sudden, involuntary connect and need to uh… reproduce, often becoming life-mates. This is described by the phrase, ‘soul meets soul when eyes meet eyes’”.

“So you can’t… you have no power to stop it?”

JB Imagine - College AU (Part 7)

A/N - Here’s part 7 to JB’s college AU~ I’m not too sure where I want this story to after this so if you’ve got any ideas or requests for what you want to see then let me know! Enjoy~

    Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Part 8 | Part 9

Waking up after a night with Jaebum always made you happy. There’d be numerous occasions where he had an early lecture to get to while you had the luxury of staying in bed. Whenever this was the case, he’d leave you a little note beside your pillow for when you woke up. This morning’s was “I love her and that’s the beginning and ending of everything” - F. Scott Fitzgerald - all my love, Jaebum ♡ A quote you had soon learnt was from one of JB’s favourite novels. He had asked you for your opinion on it early into the relationship which led to him gushing about his love for the book, story and the complexity of its characters. The way he would speak so passionately about it was admirable and you could sit there while he talked for hours. Everything about JB interested you and kept you yearning to learn more about him and what he was like beneath the surface. He was the same with you though, constantly asking questions and trying to learn more and more about you; too hungry to be close to you to talk about anything else.

As you got ready to go and surprise JB after his lecture and treat him to lunch, your phone buzzed with a text from Mina. She mentioned going on a double date and bringing Jinyoung and Jaebum with you which made you excited. The four of you were all close anyway but going out for lunch together would be even better. Plus you hadn’t really seen Jinyoung and Mina together as a couple yet apart from the few nights Jinyoung stayed over. You quickly texted back that you and Jaebum would be happy to g for lunch with them and grabbed your handbag before leaving the flat and heading to the lecture theatre JB was in. You arrived just as people started filing out and smiled brightly at JB who looked rather surprised to see you.
“And what happened to your usual ritual of staying in bed till 11?” He asked, smirking as he leaned in to kiss you sweetly, trying to ignore the chorus of “aw”s from the surrounding audience.
“Well for one, I wanted to see you and second, we may or may not be going on a lunch date later with Jinyoung and Mina.”
“Are they actually together now then?”
“Yeah, I must have forgotten to mention it. They made it official a week or so ago but Jinyoung’s been coming over more often than that.”
“So that’s why you’ve been wanting to come more then, to avoid the happy couple.”
“It’s not that I want to avoid them. More just I’d rather sleep in a quiet apartment that’s not being contaminated with the sound of them going at it.”
“And what about when you contaminate my flat?”
“Shut up. That’s different. Besides, you like it when I do so shush,” you teased, sticking your tongue out at your boyfriend before he locked his fingers in yours and the two of you walked in the direction of the library where you would spend the time before going out for lunch with Jinyoung and Mina.

Soon enough, you and Jaebum were walking to the little restaurant where you had arranged to meet up with Jinyoung and Mina. As you arrived, you saw the two standing there completely lost in each other’s eyes. It was quite clear they’re relationship was new because of the expression they had on their faces; pure admiration for the other. When the two of you reached them, they somehow managed to snap out of their little daydream and greet you before going in and ordering food. Conversation flowed easily between all of you and many laughs were shared as you chatted whilst waiting for food. It was comforting for you to have Mina there with you on the date since you still managed to get nervous around Jaebum when you were alone on a date. He also got your heart beating that little bit faster when he looked at you and smiled as if you were the most beautiful thing on the planet.
“So I heard you two made things official last week?” JB asked the two, giving them a little smirk, succeeding in making the couple blush.
“Yeah, we thought we might as well since we spent so much time together,” Mina replied, looking at Jinyoung and smiling.
“You two are just adorable together,” you mused as your hand found its way into JB’s.
“It’s funny you should say that because the reason why we decided to go for it and date each other was you two,” Jinyoung said, confusing both you and JB.
“What do you mean?” You asked him.
“Well seeing how cute you two are together made both of us a bit jealous because we wanted something like that. But also just the way how you two so effortlessly started dating after being friends. I don’t know, it just got us thinking we should try things out. And I’m glad we did,” Jinyoung answered, making JB squeeze your hand a little tighter under the table.
“Now you’ve said that I feel like we’ve got a lot to live up to,” JB laughed, turning to look at you.
“Yeah, we’ve got a reputation to uphold. Better be on our best behaviour. Speaking of best behaviour,” you said, turning your attention to Jinyoung and Mina. “I’m chill with you two spending the night together at our flat, but me and the other girls need some kind of warning so that we can make plans or just at least be prepared for whatever weird ass noises either of you are going to be making.” Mina’s face blushed a deep red and she looked to Jinyoung awkwardly, embarrassment taking over.
“Don’t worry, (Y/N). We’ll tell you everything,” Jinyoung said, winking at you and laughing.
“Please, spare me all the details.”
“Oh no, I can easily tell you everything in detail just so you know what we’ll be getting up to.”
“Jinyoung!” Mina scolded, face still bright red as she feebly hit his chest.
“Well if you’re going to do that, I suppose we’ll just have to do the same then won’t we, (Y/N)?” JB said, looking at you.
“That makes sense. And we’ve got a lot more to tell than these two, I’m sure.”
“Okay, that’s enough,” Mina said, looking at all three of you. “No one needs to be discussing their sex lives at lunch. Speaking of, are we all done? Because I’ve got some essay prep that needs doing at some point this afternoon.”

The rest of the day went fairly smoothly and nothing out of the ordinary happened. Your one lecture of the day was fairly interesting and you had come out of it feeling satisfied with the topic. JB met you outside of the lecture hall as you had done for him and the other English students who had been there earlier commented on your cuteness. It had almost a ritual to receive compliments on your relationship so now you were almost unaware of it happening. JB walked you to his car and drove off to his flat where you had planned to stay for the night. You rarely bothered taking spare clothes with you since you knew JB would gladly give you something of his. He absolutely loved seeing you in his clothes and couldn’t get enough of it. He thought you looked adorable in his big sweaters that hid your hands from how big they were. But he much preferred to see you in one of his t-shirts that only just covered your hips the morning after a long night together. When you both had walked up to his flat from the car park, you dumped your bag down on the floor and made a beeline for the sofa and flopped down onto the cushions. Even though you’d only had the one lecture, you were exhausted. JB stood there, admiring you before a little slip of paper caught his eye. He bent down and picked it up, realising it was the note he had left you this morning that had just fallen out of one of your notebooks. He smiled to himself at the gesture and slid it back into the notebook before walking over to join you, the one he knew he was unconditionally in love with.

HOW TO: Be a Theatre Student

    1. ATTITUDE

The most common negative quality in Theatre Students is a lack of appreciation. There are so many individuals in this world who feel forced into career paths that have nothing to do with their true passion. We are so lucky to be allowed to follow such a unique dream, and to bring joy to so many audiences. Remember even when completing difficult assessments, or doing back to back late nights, we are working towards something bigger. Being appreciative and passionate is an inspiring quality. Embody this.

    2. TUTORS

We are extremely lucky in my course to be taught by a group of working Professionals, not Lecturers. Although you will spend every day with them, remember they are Professionals who deserve respect. They will be your most valuable resource. Do not waste their time. Ask questions. Drink in all that you can. They will know you better than you know yourself. Theatre Professionals in the Industry do not have time to stop mid-show and explain their decision making. Working with such people is an amazing privilege. Use it.

    3. OBSERVE

As well as observing the Tutors methods, also observe the other students around you. Before screaming about how much potential you have, take time to watch other students succeed and fail. Take from their methods the aspects you want to incorporate into your own practice. Never ignore the potential of those sitting next to you to have incredible ideas.

    4. OPPORTUNITIES

Theatre School will immerse you in an environment of external opportunities. My school offers a variety of non-assessed events that we can volunteer to work on. We are also able to be hired as Venue Technicians for weekend work. I would highly recommend using these as platforms to practice your craft and keep you fresh. This will make you a known face around campus, and give you extra experience your peers may not have. It’s easy to get stuck in the classroom. Remember you are here for live art!

    5. EVERY DAY IS AN INTERVIEW

Every day we are surrounded by current and future industry professionals. Although you should feel safe to make mistakes, know that the way you act now is being constantly monitored and will be remembered. Try to handle stressful situations with grace, and always have an air of professionalism about you. People in theatre are good judges of character. Think quickly, and be respectful.

    6. STAGE MANAGERS ARE TIME KEEPERS

You are completing a Stage Management course. A Stage Manager’s first job is to be a time keeper… So meet your goddamn deadlines. Seriously. There is nothing that makes Tutors cringe more than seeing Students getting extension after extension when they are training to be a professional organiser. Your ability to stay on top of work, even that unrelated to productions, is being judged as part of your work ethic. Although sometimes it is overwhelming, remember this time of your life will end and you DO have the ability to complete the work in good time. Write the essay. Read the play. It will get you one step closer to theatre.

    7. TEACHING OTHERS TEACHES YOU

Although Theatre School can sometimes be a competitive atmosphere, it is important to remember that teaching others actually teaches you. I do my best learning when I have to explain concepts or procedures to someone who doesn’t understand them. Although sometimes you want to keep your knowledge close to your chest, be generous with your learning. It will consolidate the knowledge in your mind, and doing favours for others does not go unnoticed.

    8. LET OTHERS FAIL

You also need to find your own moral ground on when to stop pulling friends across the line. As with any Degree, at the end of the day you need to all individually be capable enough to walk into a theatre and create a Prompt Copy, or set up a console. Don’t do all the work for people who aren’t interested in learning for themselves. Sometimes it takes a blown system or poor grade or yelling Director to wake a Student up. Ensure your work is always  high quality, but it is not your responsibility to manage any other work load. Do not get walked all over. This education is yours.

    9. STOCK UP

Use this time to Stock Up! Create useful templates and file them nicely for you to use once you’re in the Industry. Buy a Stage Management Kit, and begin slowly stocking up throughout your time at University. Invest in the Tools you deem most useful. Buy the Stage Management book you keep reading from the Library. Collect the elements you want to be a part of your professional practice. This is the perfect time to gather resources. Do not waste it.

    10. DON’T GIVE UP YOUR LIFE

The best advice I received at the commencement of my First Year was to not give up your personal life for a 9.00AM-6.00PM Monday to Friday course. I was ready to give everything away. I moved out of home to be closer to the city, worked through my weekends, and over the year stopped caring about my friends, family and other interests (including this blog!). Let me tell you, this does not get you ahead in your career. It left me lonely, and vulnerable to toxic relationships that I didn’t need. You need a well balanced life and support system to be good at your job. You need to be healthy and happy to inspire passion in those working for you. My best work of the year was during my November production, once I had realised this the hard way. Make an effort with your friends, stay with your family, have other hobbies that make you happy. Don’t throw your life away just because you got an acceptance letter. If this career is going to sustain your whole life, it needs to fit into your whole life. Theatre is not the only beautiful thing in this world. Just look around. You might surprise yourself.

Best of luck to the 2017 First Years in all the kickass Theatre Courses around the world. I’m here for every single one of you!

    A Story About Shaw

(AN: About two weeks ago I posted Destinations, a story about Root and liminal spaces. I knew I wanted to do a companion piece for Shaw, but I couldn’t figure out the theme. The phrase that kept coming to mind was negative space, but it took me awhile to figure out why my brain settled on that. The result was quite different from Destinations, but it kinda had to be. Silhouette was…much harder to write and might be more polarizing than the last for a couple reasons, but nonetheless I hope you enjoy it).

After the accident, Shaw comes home one day to find a framed picture in her bedroom. It’s a photograph of herself from a few years ago. In it she sits solemnly between her mother and father who are both smiling, laughing. Her father’s hands is resting on her shoulder.

Shaw is puzzled, unsure why her mother chose to put this picture on her dresser. By this point she’s realized that people surround themselves with photographs to feel connected; the photos are a reminder of the things pictured in them, a shortcut to the emotions those things evoke.

The day the picture shows up on her dresser, all solemn in its heavy black frame, Shaw stares at it, trying to understand what her mother expects her to do with it. She’s…not content with her father’s absence, but she’s not sure how a picture is supposed to help. She stares at it for hours, but only ends up with a headache.

When she moves to a different, larger room the next year, she leaves the framed photo behind on the dresser. Her mother notices, of course. She doesn’t say anything, but the photo shows up on the desk in Shaw’s new room the next day.

Shaw stares at the picture again, but still comes up blank. Her mother must have had a reason for moving it, so she keeps thinking about it, tracing the implications of the actions and expectations. Tries to understand why it’s so important to her mother that she keep it.

A year later they move to a new house. This time it’s the first thing she packs.
